I didn't know about it before seeing this ask. We don't get to see often Brazilian lesbian shows so that's interesting, here's the trailer for those who are curious about it :

shout out to Heartstopper for not allowing Nick's sexuality get steamrolled in the name of avoiding awkwardness or some other crappy excuse. Thank you for allowing him to correct people because respect for his identity matters more than avoiding whatever awkwardness may follow the correction. I have seen too many occasions where bisexual people will just accept people calling them gay or straight out of the desire to not cause tension.
I don't give a shit if you thought it was repetitive or cringe or whatever the fuck when Nick would say "I'm bi, actually." As someone who has been out as bisexual for a good number of years, shit like that means the absolute fucking world to me.
Thank you, Heartstopper for showing us that. Thank you, Kit for playing that role as well you have.
And to everyone else, have a great day and don't be a biphobic asshole.

This is a really important read. (fyi the title refers to the upcoming LIS, not True Colors)
Rebekkah Valentine is the real deal, she does great fucking investigative journalism.

Honestly it seems like a miracle that True Colors is as good as it is. Fuck Square Enix.

//Wednesday Spoilers
In regards to Enid, there's mention in she show of her parents sending her to 'werewolf conversion therapy' as her character can't turn into a wolf ('wolf out'). She ends up with a boy at the end and many people call out queerbaiting for both Wednesday and Enid as they're lesbian, or at least sapphic, coded
+ a similar message from possibly another anon :
"Ooh re: Wednesday. I def saw Wednesday as gay (what was that attempt at a het subplot??) but I saw Enid as bi, but heavily women leaving? She talks about being the odd one out, because "all (she) has is (claws)". I kinda read that as her expressing she only liked boys a little. Kinda doesn't fit with the ending I guess :/ But I'm a lesbian dating a bi woman so I was like...les/bi? 👀 Anyways I also fully support them both being gay. We need more lesbians in media!!"
-------
So, I watched the whole season and I'm going to agree with anon number 2. I wouldn't accuse the show of gaybaiting simply because though Enid is 100% coded as sapphic that does not mean there is heavy romantic/sexual tension between Enid and Wednesday. If baiting there is it's not the show but maybe in the promotion, which I never care to check. Don't get me wrong I sense something between these two, we get to see a friendship that is getting stronger and stronger, it might be a budding love but we need time to see it develop if that's the road the writers will take. Right now Enid is a golden-retriever type of friend to Wednesday and I love their introvert/extrovert dynamic, indeed they just work.
Enid is coded as bisexual. From her pink and blue strands of hair to the "wolfing out" metaphor. She was excited about spending time with that boy Ajax, about possibly dating him, happy when kissing him (though nervous, but that's normal), so I don't see why there's people who think she might be a lesbian. If they want to headcanon her this way, okay, but ultimately this character isn't written as such. Lesbians simply aren't excited about dating a dude and aren't either being super mad when said dude doesn't show up at their date, at the very best one would go on a straight date to force herself and if the dude didn't show up we would be relieved about it.
Wednesday is different. We don't really see her emotions so we don't know much about her feelings for Tyler, the dude was really pursuing her and had his ways to make her feel bad for rejecting him. We don't know if her heart was in that kiss, if she tried to fit in or if she was really in her element with him. Regardless, it didn't felt right as a viewer. In my head I was like "Wednesday would never" and "this is so out of character", whereas when she hugged back Enid the emotion and the authenticity was there.

I think queer stories would be better if people stopped assuming that queer representation hinges on if two characters are romantically involved at all. Like the moment you accept characters as being queer without needing romance to prove said queerness then i think we'd find ourselves with a lot more unique, nuanced, and interesting queer stories. but by limiting queerness to only romance you are stifling queer stories.

Call me homophobic, but I don't actually think it's great representation to stick a complex, dynamic, newly-realized bisexual character permanently with a flat, boring, underdeveloped love interest just because that was the first guy who showed interest.

I think we as Sam fans should be more annoying and loud about the fact that his crossroad demons were men twice.
(This is me being pissed off about how people will say dean is of course bi due to some dumb shit like the siren, which was his brother, and “bi lighting” or something, and then turn around and say Sam is the straightest character. Like what.)
