I didn’t tag anything on the post cause I didn’t want to detract from that whole thing but everyone just needs to remember that I do have a giddy obsession with The King in Yellow. Not the malevolent character. The book. From 1895. The one that starts with the author trying to justify segregation before going into his state authorized suicide world. That one. I do a little jig whenever I hold it my brain is broken about this book.

#chambers isn’t as bad as lovecraft (I mean. seriously) but still #personal #it’s mediocre at best and ‘problematic’ as hell but I just!! book!!#it’s just really interesting ok!! as a historical text I think it’s fascinating as an early piece of sci fi and horror!!#I also like the malevolent character. obviously. but I liked the CoC version first so I mean #I think I just like him in any universe

if you write a book with a cool idea but you do a bad job of it somebody should get to just take your exact idea and try again but better. actually wait even if you do a good job and it makes me want to read another take on the exact thing somebody should get to do that too

#hard sci fi writers are usually awful at the writing part #i've been saying for years that hard sci fi writers should get romance writers to do their character stuff #unfortunately i like the physics stuff but also good characterization and plot #wait i just realized by ''romance writers'' i mean courtney milan specifically #WHY aren't there ten of her #honestly if she were interested in it she could write amazing sci fi all on her own she's so diligent w research #don't read her older books read her newest stuff and you'll see what i mean she's genuinely one of the best writers not doing literary rn

Is there an order you're supposed to read the Geronimo Stilton books in???? If so which one's the first???

Well, yes there is an order to the books, but you can read them in any order you want! If you wanna read them in chronological order tho then uuuuhhhhhhh depends on the language you read them in because publishing orders differ depending on the language.

Since you said you’re gonna read them in Italian, uhhhhhhhhhhh I’m not entirely sure because I don’t read the books in Italian (unfortunately) and the Geronimo Stilton official website doesn’t have their Library of Alexandria of a catalogue of the Italian main books for some reason (if I’m reading stuff correctly) :/

Soooo ye just grab whatever’s at the thrift store and read away HAHAHAHAH the rest of the fandom I believe can give you book recs if they feel so inclined

#geronimo stilton #guys i caught one #my personal recommendations in the main series are the wild wild west and paws off cheddarface (the latter if you’re partial to angst)#the Italian names are “Quattro topi nel far west!” and “Giù le zampe. faccia di fontina!” respectively #there’re also spinoffs like nel regno della fantasia #that one’s good enough to have its own fandom but it’s a bit much for a first timer dipping their toes in y’know? hardcovers and stuff #there’re other spinoffs that are like AU fanfics that G decided to make in his spare time (which is the best part imo)#there’s preisotopi/cavemice. cosmotopi/spacemice. i topinghi/micekings and i supertopi/heromice #cosmotopi’s my favorite because heehee space sci-fi au go brrrrrr #and also the fact that their drip is immaculate in that one #they also do books where they essentially mousify classical tales like uh moby dick the secret garden alice in wonderland etc etc #anyway geronimo stilton fandom i ask you for your book recommendations #I’ll do my best to supply italian translations of the names if you can’t find them
