Here's Bernie Sanders answer to the question of how someone can vote for Kamala Harris while disagreeing with her position on the war:
TL;DW:
Harris supports an immediate cease-fire, the release of hostages and a surge of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Trump and his cronies see Netanyahu and his government as right-wing allies, and have encouraged Netanyahu (who would prefer Trump to win) to continue the war in Gaza. Sanders says he and Harris will work together to change US policy towards Israel, pushing for an end to settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, and the rebuilding of Gaza for Palestinians.
Gaza is an important issue, but allowing Trump to become president will harm women and minorities in America, undoing decades of progres; entrench the power of the rich and tilt the economy even further against ordinary Americans, and basically condemn us to unchecked global warming.

To all the little girls watching...never doubt that you are valuable and powerful & deserving of every chance & opportunity in the world. - Hillary Rodham Clinton, in the speech that destroyed us all in 2016.
It was the honor of my life to accept our party's nomination for president. And nearly 66 million Americans voted for a future where there are no ceilings on our dreams. And afterward, we refused to give up on America ... well my friends, the future is here. [...]
On the other side of that glass ceiling is Kamala Harris raising her hand and taking the oath of office as the 47th president ... this is when we break through ... let's go win it. - Hillary Rodham Clinton, DNC speech 2024.

To all the people in the US who are eligible to vote but are still refusing to:
Here is a Call To Action from Senator Bernie Sanders, published October 28th 2024, which addresses the Gaza genocide (included inside another tumblr post which has a transcript):
Here is an unfinished list reminding us of a lot of shit Tr*mp ruined during and leading up to his first term:
Here is a masterlist of Gazans that we won't be able to prioritize helping if Tr*mp wins because we'll have to focus on covering our own heads:
And here's a post that summarizes why Harris's team is aiming at Right-leaning voters (which is a good thing, because why wouldn't we want people regardless of leaning voting for one candidate to tip the scales?) better than I can right now, namely the last reblog:
Now, please, do tell me, this isn't a rhetorical question:
What further convincing do you need?

Also for what it's worth I've never discouraged the creation of a farther left party in the US either. I believe I've even said in the past that the Green Party is a disaster and if you want to build an alternative party you have to do it from the ground up. I have no illusions about a farther left party gaining any kind of traction at the national level, but local politics is a lot more flexible.
The only viable role for a leftist party in the US right now is a local/state party in deep blue states that would have candidates run as Democrats if they ran for federal office. Democrats will have different opinions on that which is fine, personally I'm chill with that as long as they treat Democrats as respected coalition partners and aren't assholes about it. I think that's kind of what the DSA was supposed to be? It feels like every attempt at this dissolves into an internal mess because *jazz hands* the American left but it doesn't have to be that way.
I'm not going to personally put the effort in to do this, I'm fine voting for Democrats, but if I had a choice between a Democrat and some leftist party for a local office I'd consider both candidates. That's basically what I do now anyway except they're all officially Democrats and I do it in the primaries.

idk I don't really understand the stance of "I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils, so I'm just not going to vote." would you rather have the greater of two evils, then? we're not voting for the lesser evil because we just love evil so dang much, it's because between a lesser evil and a greater evil, there is a significant difference. and we only get one of the two. there is no third option.
