Mr. Gold's hard facade only became slightly blurred when his manifestations as the Dark One reappeared. No one ever wanted to think that the giggling imp could look elegant and poised but, they thought, his new fashion sense did just that. No ruffles, leathers, or long complicated knots; just silk ties, and delicately pleated and ironed fabrics. His eyes, scaled skin and thick claws, oh and those vile teeth made him look like a monstrosity, but coupled with his new layers and slightly more manageable hair, he could almost pass off as a citizen instead of a beast lurking amongst the crowd.

not again. “no atsumu, you dont think i have known you too long to not have realised how you act? i hate to say it but you just aren’t my type.” you’re lying. you have had a crush on him since your last year of middle school, however, miya atsumu may possibly have one of the most annoying personalities you have ever had the misfortune of coming across. for the past month he has taken pleasure in flirting with you to elicit a reaction and so far it hasn’t worked.

today you decided it was the perfect time to fluster him, i mean it would only be fair to flirt back with him after he has been trying to get your attention for so long, right?

“wow yn you’re going to break my heart, i get i can be a bit much but you don’t find me handsome at all?” the shit eating grin on his face somehow makes him look even more attractive, it highlights the warmth in his cheeks and brings out very faint crow’s feet that just look gorgeous on him. he’s making it way to hard now, you have to flirt with him.

“i mean you are very attractive atsumu, only an idiot would be dumb enough to lie about that.” you’re strategic with your moves, you have seen the way he reacts with his fans so you know the best ways to make him blush. simply placing your hand flat on his chest and staring at his lips for a few seconds is enough to give him a rosy complexion.

“you have such a pretty face, especially when you’re blushing, god i could look at your for hours,” oh he is red now, the plan is working. you start to run your hands down his abs very faintly, he can barely feel the touch of your fingers but he knows its there, he so badly wants to see where his stomach connects with you, but he cant seem to pull his eyes away from yours. “and don’t get me started on your voice, or that amazing body of yours.”

if he were to actually listen to what you are saying he would hear the very obvious sarcasm placed right in front of him, but right now he’s too busy trying to restrain himself from grabbing both sides of your face and kissing you in front of all his teammates. he feels your feather light touches start to ghost up to his head where your fingers make home in his yellow blonde hair, slightly scratching at his scalp in a way you know has him itching for more.

“yn…” he breathes out, he doesn’t really know what he would even say to you, but before he can even think of a sentence you’re starting again.

“and your hair, i love it, the way it compliments your eyes so perfectly, and how soft it is. i think—” your words are cut off by the ringing of the msby jackals gym bell, telling the team its time for a break from practice.

“oh, sorry tsumu,” removing your hand from his hair, he looks sort of disappointed, its cute to say the least. “i have to go help coach foster get the next activity ready.”

and so atsumu is left there completely stunned, a little sweaty and very red, although he claims its just from the intense practice. the only thing he can think to do is grab his phone and open the team groupchat to confess his dying love for their manager.

Wiggins!) the bizarre thing about the vampire men in the cullen family all seem to be at least subconsciously what Smeyer wants Bella to have but can’t seem to get over her initial vision of what she saw in her drafts or whatever. It’s odd that every single one of the Cullen men are like strongly devoted (but mostly devoid of personality because it’s so Bella centric) but when you compare them to Edward they seem interesting in some ways. Like Narratively we’re supposed to have this threat that Edward is constantly holding back from killer her but I don’t feel like we see that. Conversely, Jasper is constantly the one who is suffering about human smells and is the more vampire-like. But he’s also a glorified lap dog. So it’s like ‘oh he’s a monster but he’ll never hurt me” (things Alice has said out loud. Man even psychics slip up. I swear her powers weren’t so accurate until Smeyer needed an excuse for plot reasons)

Emmett feels like when some women say they like waifish guys because they don’t want to seem like they’re vapid for liking “big dudes with muscles” so of course you pair Emmett with the “shallow blonde”

Carlisle, I swear only exists so Edward has someone to model but I would also argue that he’s proto-Edward before whatever reworking she had to do when writing Twilight for a YA audience and brought him back as a different character.

this is such an interesting take! thanks for sharing. i totally see what you're saying. in all the Cullen men we see both a blend of softness & devotion *and*, interestingly enough, a patchwork of patriarchal ideas of what a man "should" be. & this idea comes to the forefront with the depiction of the love interests

smeyer wants us to see Edward as the chivalric gentlemen from the Days of Yore. we see this in the opening doors, the cutsey little romance taglines ("you are my life now," "look after my heart; i've left it with you," "so the lion fell in love" etc), the knight saving the damsel in distress, the expensive tokens of his affection, etc.

at the same time, in both Edward & Jacob we see the crude traits of the Patriarchy Dreamboat kinda guy. if i had to sum it up, it's like the guy you see in 80s movies. "bad boy." "opposites attract." he's a jerk. he's a hunk. he's domineering. he's allowed to show emotion only & especially if that emotion is anger. he's persistent in his efforts to get the girl, going so far as to kiss her without her consent if it's For a Good Cause (Edward in New Moon post-Volterra, Jacob in Eclipse). he's a cool guy who's In Control 👉😎👉

perhaps that's why the Twilight saga appealed so such a large swath of women & girls. the women, who grew up with the notion that they could have the true love of their dreams so long as they submitted to the patriarchal social contract, saw the contract being fulfilled in Edward. (i.e., "you can be the king if you treat me like a princess.")

on the other hand, the 90s/00s girlies who grew up in the midst of a feminist revolution & who could see the glimmer of a dismantled patriarchy on the horizon were attracted to Edward for the flashes of radical feminist love they saw: the unapologetic expressions of emotion, the honesty of him sharing his vulnerabilities & weaknesses, Bella's ability to override Edward's will when necessary, etc.

sorry, i know this isn't really the crux of the rant you submitted, but it is extremely interesting to see these contradictions playing out in all the male characters of the saga. it's almost like smeyer is having this internal debate with herself without even realizing it...

you better believe kevin has one of those comically large 1 gallon water bottles that have like timestamps incremented on it with encouraging phrases like “COME ON!” and “ALMOST THERE!”

HE DOES i feel like there’s a few objects kevin needs to have on his person to feel safe and ready for the day and one of those has to be an obnoxiously big bright orange water bottle. i think all of the foxes have one and its a gift of sorts from the psu athletic department and no one uses them besides renee kevin and neil because they are so monstrous. the encouraging phrases are corny. its so bright. the foxes logo on it is undeniable. renee and neil at least cover the phrases with stickers but kevin just raw dogs having that awful bottle out in public

Everyone's talking about Wish right now.... The only thing I can say about WISH.......let's hope it's like a Frozen 1 type thing. Where the trailers were ABSOLUTE ASS but then the film turned out really good. TT0TT

I mean.....there is a difference between the two. While the west got weird trailers that didn't matter for Frozen (Olaf vs Sven carrot thing), JPN and other countries got trailers that actually showcased the plot and drama in an interesting way.... And Wish.....well...... Wish at least gives us a villain and a part of an argument.....and I can't see that argument leading anywhere.....great tbh. So maybe not the best comparisons but let's hope for the Frozen 1 vibe!

Anyway I'm not liking what I'm seeing so far, but I'm hoping its better than the ass disaster Frozen 2 and Ralph 2 were. ;w;

love ALL sibs confrontation of logan in all the bells say but roman’s kicked puppy syndrome always makes me wanna cry like i think ken, and shiv especially, knew in the car that they were gonna have to shield him in there and you can see him crumble immediately when logan singles him out to manipulate (and OF COURSE he would since rome is the weakest when it comes to logan) but they have his back and keep him grounded and even though they do lose and even though roman stands up to his father in the gentlest way possible it’s still so satisfying to see. i was so proud of him. he should’ve slapped him as well but baby steps. also that might have killed logan so maybe not. i’m sorry to kendall but ur brother took the babygirl of the year award from you la la land moonlight style. that may be an unpopular opinion i know kendall is the fandoms resident babygirl, but to me he’s a bit too irritating and embarrassing to be babygirl level endearing. he has his moments though for sure.

I have such a giant urge to spoil my own TADC fan fic. All because I can't contain my love for all the Beauty and the Beast inspired scenes in it. So you know what? Let me give tiny hints instead, just to leak out my excitement before spoiling my own story. 🤣

1. Chapter 3 already had that one scene where Ragatha is too into her book to notice the chaos around her. Inspired by the "Belle" musical number.

2. There is another scene inspired by the "Gaston" musical number. But it's not what it looks like on the surface.

3. "Evermore" inspired scene. Cried a bit with this one when I did the outline. Because of what I have planned. 😅

4. My favorite is another scene inspired by "The Mob Song."

5. A few scenes inspired by "Something There." Not a musical scene, though.

also looking close at the sheet music glimpse, i noted when i went "kiss me what?" and looked up the lyrics and it gave me that of those of a doris day rendition, that version apparently goes "down in lover's lane my dearie" instead of "lover's lane with you" despite that the latter creates a rhyme, and we do see the [my] rather than the [with] in the lyrics

the doris day version is a whole different arrangement certainly, and more downtempo

another thing that might suggest its arrangement, besides just its lyrics, being that that's three beats per measure in the sheet music, the doris day version sure is a waltz, and idk what time signature the kay starr version has but it's not 3/4....played out orville's line on a virtual keyboard too, definite harmonizing going on. now imagining it could go from this downtempo waltz and swing up into the kay starr version like whoa we gotta ease orv into this and he's never heard a song above 50 bpm in his life

Going by what we know of famous buildings, we can infer that Foxfire is somewhere around…

Pyramid: 71 feet tall, 112 feet base. This is based on the Louvre Pyramid which is how Shannon Messenger imagined it (I believe).

Towers: 185 feet tall, 159 circumference. I based these off of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Amphitheater: 69 feet tall, 44x39 meters for the base (I was too lazy to math it to feet). I used the Amphitheater of Nîmes for a reference here because the Roman one was so fucking big.
