I came up with new stuff about my take on the Relativity Falls AU! Ok, so, I talked about it here (and here are some design choices in case y'all are interested). Although these are with Bill like he is in cannon because I hadn't come up with that idea yet but these were mostly concept plans for this AU, SO IT'S OK.

ANYWAY, so, at first I thought about leaving Bill kinda the same, but at school I was blessed with enlightenment by the gods of hyperfixation and I realized. I COULD SWAP HIM WITH CANDY. AND HERE'S WHY.

Okay, so, I think you remember that in the show there was an episode in season 2 where Stan took the twins plus Candy and Grenda on a road trip and Candy had a crush on Dipper which was one-sided on her part. And it reminded me of how in Billford the feelings are one-sided on Bill's side after the betrayal (whether those feelings are romantic or pet-owner thing is unclear, but yeah). So I thought to myself "What if Candy saw Dipper, was fascinated by him and his nerdiness and also figured he could help her with her plans for Weirdmageddon (of whichever the motives I'm still trying to think)?" And then Candy would actually fall in love with Dipper while Dipper stayed the same. He would of course be fascinated by her but he wouldn't have developed any romantic feelings towards her. Just admiration.

I feel like she would also like pain like Bill but because humans feel pain differently than her kind does, it would be mostly because of interest and for experiments. She would be mad at Dipper after the portal incident and him giving up but would try not to show it (much), so when Dipper would fall asleep she would possess his body and work on repairing the portal (and maybe slap his face and stab a few objects on his arms for leaving her after he found out her plans) until Dipper got that metal plate inserted.

Also Candy would be a circle. I came up with that thing mostly so that Mabel can joke about knowing that her brother liked curves, lol. Btw Dipcifica is happening because I swapped Pacifica and Fiddleford together (and in this after the Northwest family kicked Pacifica out they left Gravity Falls out of shame that one of them lost her mind, and the mansion was empty until the Mcgucket family, a rich, country family moved in. I might change that bit, idk).

Also, since I swapped Candy and Bill, I thought about Bill and Stan being friends, but their canon rivalry is just too funny to pass up so maybe whoever swaps with Grenda (maybe Pyronica? I low-key like that. If I keep that idea her name will change to Veronica or Pyronica is gonna be a nickname cause she would like arson) will be trying to make them boys get along, and the only reason Bill wouldn't leave would be because that person is his only friend. One reason why Stan would hate Bill (other than him being a spoiled little brat) is because he likes his brother and Stan KNOWS he's gonna be a bad boyfriend for Ford. Also Bill and Fidds would have some beef (Robbie and Dipper kinda vibes) because they would be both crushing on Ford while Ford would remain completely oblivious and be head over heels for Manly Dan (who is swapped with Wendy).

But Ford would be fascinated by Bill because he would know how to do magic tricks. Bill in this is VERY Helga Pataki codded because his parents would be mostly focused on his successful, normal, with-no-eye-deformities older brother Steve (yes, I came up with it rn while writing it, and yes, I'm putting Pyramid Steve there CAUSE I CAN) and because he would hide his true feelings for Ford (everyone knows but Ford). Bill wouldn't outright bully Ford, but sometimes Ford would wonder if Bill likes him or pretends to because he's "friends" with Stan due to the jokes he makes.

Bill would come from a kinda wealthy family and his parents would give him everything he wanted (except their attention) which is why Stan calls him spoiled. Bill here also has a false schizophrenia diagnosis because when he was little he would say he saw some weird stuff (they're real cause, yk, it's Gravity Falls) and he takes a bunch of medicine, both for schizophrenia and anophthalmia (which is a rare condition where you're born with only one eye. Bill hides his missing eye behind his hair). The medicines make him feel drowsy, and like he's not really there, but he's good at masking it behind a wide smile and a cocky personality.

At some point Bill will come to the conclusion that he doesn't deserve Ford because he can be so kind, and sweet, and understanding (everything that he's not) so he would (begrudgingly) let Fidds have Ford and step out of the unofficial "contest".

One last thing, I'm swapping Soos with Durland and Melody with Blubs.

Lets start out with a light one; Sean absolutely has ADHD and dyslexia. Everybody knows Sean can't read, but nobody asks WHY Sean can't read despite frequent opportunities to learn. Based on the camp interactions with Lenny, we know he has been willing to attempt to learn, but has given up. This reads a lot more like learning disability to me, than it does laziness!!

In a similar vein; Sean taking frequent naps/falling asleep a lot is because he's a light sleeper - he has had a hard time falling asleep and staying that way ever since his father got murdered in his bed by the law. Left an impression Sean can't really shake even when surrounded by friends and allies - it's easier to nap when it's light out and people are awake in the area. Combine that with the ADHD and suddenly he's sleeping when he's not supposed to - like on guard duty.

Btw Sean has REAL BAD nightmares so that doesn't help at ALL either

Sean's mom probably passed when he was very young - he doesn't have any tangible memories of her in the same way he does his dad. Telling stories about him is how Sean keeps the only real family he had alive.

SIMILARLY I imagine it was just the two of them fleeing to America together; Sean was right there when Darragh got killed in his sleep - I imagine him waking up to a gunshot tbh.

In previous posts I've talked some about Sean's parallels and similarities to Arthur. Consider; Sean having similar self-esteem issues as Arthur, but instead of being quiet and disparaging about it, Sean covers it up by boasting and talking a big game. Nobody tries to talk Sean up because they all think he has a big ego, and it sort of just feeds into the insecurities Sean already has & is trying to avoid thinking about.

Also; Sean is generally an open book about his feelings, but he struggles a LOT with being truly vulnerable or getting at the deeper stuff. He'll also always downplay and make a joke out of truly traumatic and desperate situations he's been in. Though he DOES tell you what happened, he's chuckling and acting like it's nothing. (This isn't even a headcanon, he actually does this very consistently. It's why Karen is so mad at him in that one camp interaction after the party lol)

The only times Sean feels comfortable not being The Camp Clown is when Dutch isn't around, with a limited amount of people to witness. He still feels weird about the fact that he did actually try to kill him, when they first met, like he actually pulled the trigger (I feel like people are prone to forget this abt him), and he's never sure if Dutch might resent or distrust him a little for it. Same goes for Hosea.

A MacSummers one I came up w on discord literally yesterday; Sean has a Claddagh ring heirloom he got from his late mother through his late father. He gifts it to Lenny at some point, who doesn't realize the symbolism, just the sentimental value. Lenny wears it on a chain around his neck.

The previous one could work for MacJones too but tbh I think it hits harder for MacSummers lol (im biased)

Sean blocked out a lot of what he experienced while holed up at Ike Skelding's; the teethpulling and the burned feet were probably some of the lighter things he had to endure.

Sidenote the fact that his feet were fucking burned being as brushed off as it is makes me fucking insane. How bad were they burned Sean? Are you in pain atm? Should you be walking?

"getting the broth into peeta takes an hour of coaxing, begging, threatening, and yes, kissing" - this is so funny. threatening?!

it's like once they've started kissing, they can't stop. like it's an absentminded habit

katniss gets into the sleeping bag with peeta and it's "toasty warm" and she "snuggles down gratefully"

she acknowledges that by teaming up with him, she's made herself much more vulnerble but decides to trust the "instinct" that made her go looking for him even when she knew he was injured (i thought you said it was so the district 12 people weren't mad at you, katniss?)

"i woke up and you were gone... i was worried about you" peeta got his girl again and decided that's it, we can never be separated

peeta's capacity to flirt with/tease katniss while possibly dying is truly remarkable. his humour is really something special and so easy in such horrific times for them. never forget what the movies took from us

"he catches my hand and presses it against his lips. i remember my father doing this very thing to my mother and i wonder where peeta picked it up" - three things: one, peeta resembling her father again; two, peeta showing her love and she recognises it as love; three, her wondering where peeta got this from lol

as she lies to sleep, peeta brushes the hair off her forehead and this seems to be a specific thing they do for each other (my mind is brought to her doing it to hijacked peeta to help him sleep), but it starts right in this little cave, their little treasured intimacies. katniss notes that unlike the staged kisses/caresses they've had so far (how many of them were really staged though), that him doing this to her is natural and comforting and she doesn't want him to stop. she falls asleep as he does it.

peeta "brightening" when katniss returns even though he's miserable. he is so obsessed with her

so far katniss has been thinking peeta is acting with her but she chooses not to tell him a happy story involving gale because she thinks it won't go down well with him (or the audience) - so in some capacity she must sense that he is legit 'competition' for gale and that he doesn't like the idea of gale and her together.

the whole conversation about peeta saying he's gonna pay for himself since she's saved him and her asking him what he cost her again (a bit flirty maybe hm) and him saying a lot of trouble but that she'll get it all back. they're too much. flirting in a cave while all this (gestures to the games) is going on

him knowing when she's lying. which is interesting because at the end of the book when he finds out she was acting, he's caught off guard. and katniss isn't a good actress which leads me to believe whatever he's feeling from her is pretty damn genuine

the movies really took away so much of peeta's character traits. like boy is stubborn, he won't go down without a fight and they made him a damsel in distress and a weak one at that (think of the magic josh hutcherson could've worked with a better script)

"'what am i supposed to do? sit here and watch you die?' he must know that's not an option. that the audience would hate me. and frankly, i would hate myself too, if i didn't even try" - so here we have her going into a bloodbath alone just so she can try save him. she could win the games alone and no one would be mad at her for it all things considering but she cannot let him die. like she can't bring herself to even think of it

the whole bit where she feeds him the syrup berries and he realises and tried to spit them back up but she clamps her hand over his mouth to make him swallow. these two. "a stray berry stains his chin and i wipe it away" more casual intimacy

While Sam is relieved that Tara is not putting herself in danger, she’s still heartbroken because Tara has traded one set of unhealthy coping mechanisms (drinking, fucking strangers) with another (hiding in, never wanting to go out, never wanting Sam to leave her and getting worked up when she does and then the subsequent spiral of shame that Sam has to help her work through)

Part 1. I cannot possibly think of a more perfect direction for this to go in. I mean, I don't even know what I can add lol.

Tara falls asleep, eventually, against Sam's chest. Body and mind exhausted. Her sleep is restless, and she clings to Sam tightly. Sam doesn't get much sleep either, constantly waking to check on her sister.

In the morning, Sam awakes to Tara curled into herself away from Sam and blinking back tears. Flooded with humiliation is right. Humiliation and shame and disgust at herself. What right does she have to be upset with Sam, to be upset at all? This is all her fault anyway, and then she goes and hurts Sam and loses it when Sam gets mad? It's pathetic, it's disgusting. She feels like just another monster manipulating Sam, trying to control her. It's like she expects Sam to say "how high" when Tara says "jump."

Sam's arms wrapping around her waist distract her from her thoughts. "Hey, you ok?" Sam's voice is so soft and gentle, and she doesn't deserve it. She doesn't deserve any of it. All she does is cause problems. Problem after problem.

"I'm so sorry about last night," Sam speaks, cheek nuzzling into the top of Tara's head. "I didn't mean to scare you, I just needed some air and I wasn't thinking. It won't happen again, ok?"

She can't believe Sam is apologising, she has nothing to apologise for. This was all Tara, it was all on her. But words are hard right now, her brain is still foggy. All she can manage is gasping out it's fine.

"It's not fine, Tara. None of this is fine." Sam's arms retreat and Tara squeezes her eyes shut, there's a roaring in her ears. not again not again not againnotagainnot-

Sam's hand is on her cheek and something is being pressed to her mouth. "Open up, babygirl." It's automatic at this point, mouth opening and closing around the inhaler. "Good girl," Sam coos, hand moving to stroke through her hair.

She feels Sam climb back into the bed, in front of her this time. She wraps her arms around her and pulls her on top of her.

"I'm never going to leave you, you know that, right? There is nothing you can do to push me away. I get mad sometimes, but it's just because I care, and because I'm scared for you. I love you, so so much. You're my whole world Tara, and the thought of you getting hurt, of someone hurting you... I can't bear it."

Tara begins to sob into Sam's neck.

Tara gets quiet in the aftermath, stuck in her own head. She only leaves the apartment for class, brushes off Chad and Mindy and Anika when they try to talk to her. She doesn't have the headspace to talk to them, to explain.

She finds she can't watch Sam walk out the door anymore. It sets her heart racing and the fog machine in her head goes off, even though she knows Sam's only going to work, despite the "I'll see you later," and the kiss to her forehead. So Tara hides in her room with the door closed to avoid having to face it.

There's a part of Sam that's so relieved, to be so sure that she can come home and find her sister there, safe. There's another part banging on the walls in her brain screaming problem. She's horrified to realise which part of her is bigger. Tara's become clingy, like she's 4 years old again and doesn't know how to survive without her sister's hand in hers. Sam hates the part of her that enjoys it. She shoves it down with the part of her that enjoyed butchering Ritchie, that enjoyed her mother's face when Tara told her to go fuck herself.

For the first time in months, Sam feels needed and secure. She was drifting, aimless, trying to grasp back control of the situation, watching her sister float further and further away. But now she's tethered to her wrist. Tara's been feeling lost lately too, but Sam's found her, and she's not going to let go.

Hi Anon! I’m glad you like our Diasomnia thoughts. For the longest time they were the most difficult team for me to come up with stuff about, but the more we learn about them, the more fun they become. I’m also happy you enjoyed our LilSil headcanons!

Oh, Sebek and Silver are painfully underrated and underrepresented in this blog, they deserve much more love and art from us. So I’ll gladly share some headcanons. As always, some of them are spicy, some of them are not.

Silver was Sebek’s first crush. One would say that his first crush was Malleus, but with Malleus the feelings are quite different in scale and nature, and whatever Sebek felt towards Silver was closer to a childhood crush. That being said, Sebek never recognized these feelings, he isn’t the smartest when it comes to his own emotions + frankly he’s being a tsundere. Silver doesn’t fully realise Sebek’s crush either.

Sebek finds Silver stupidly pretty and it pisses him off, he’ll never admit that he actually likes the way he looks and that he stares at his long eyelashes when Silver sleeps sometimes. The embarrassment of this act makes Sebek yell at Silver to wake up even louder than he otherwise would have.

They are actually much closer to each other and much more physically comfortable with each other than one would assume. Grabbing, touching, they do all these things quite casually, even though there are moments when every touch feels very… intense. In a good way.

They are also surprisingly attentive to each other’s mood for someone who is so focused on his own narrow interests (Sebek) and someone who is constantly sleeping (Silver). If one of them feels concerned or troubled, the second one is definitely going to notice and try to help and support him, but not directly. Well, this one is more of an observation than a headcanon lol

They are one of those couples who can feel mutual tension for years, experience a strong yearning to be with the other, but never act upon their feelings openly, because they just decided that they are anything (childhood friends, fellow soldiers), but not lovers. Of course, these are the walls that exist only in their heads. That won’t stop them from kissing and even having sex sometimes though.

Lilia expects them to get together one day though. He assumed they would do it eventually when he first saw these two interact. Sometimes he gets frustrated because he sees that the boys kinda want each other but don’t do anything… Guess Lilia is going to have to play cupid with these two idiots.

All of Sebek’s and Silver’s “first” were spontaneous and happened in the heat of the moment. Silver was surprised when Sebek kissed him for the first time, but didn’t push him away. And then they started to kiss more, and then some other time they felt too hot and Sebek started rubbing against Silver’s leg. They always try to stop themselves before things get too far, but they are horrible at it, so after a couple of weeks of these spontaneous moments they are going to have sex.

Sebek always nibs on Silver’s tongue when they’re kissing, but if Silver asks him not to do that, he gets mad and says that he doesn’t do anything and Silver is stupid for complaining about this nonsense. Silver, on the other hand, sucks the tip of Sebek’s tongue gently when they kiss, and it drives Sebek insane – it shouldn’t feel that good (it’s stupid Silver after all!), but it does. Where the hell did he learn that?

When Silver falls asleep during sex (oops), Sebek always wakes him up especially rudely. He is rude as he is, but if he notices Silver nodding off during sex, he gets super mad. Sometimes he tugs on his hair, sometimes he slaps either his butt or his cheeks. Sometimes he bites Silver, and with how strong his bite force is, it’s always a rude awakening. But the sound that Silver makes when he wakes up after getting bitten is too sweet and arousing for Sebek to stop doing that.

Silver isn’t loud at all during sex, but sometimes Sebek grabs his face with his hand trying to silence him. Even though Sebek was making even more of a noise than Silver… It really doesn’t make sense, but both of them feel too aroused by the situation to address that.

Sydney isn't sure where Victor is. But she woke up and saw he was gone, so she decided to seize her opportunity.

Sydney runs back to her room, pulling a small bag of supplies out from under her bed. Once the supplies are laid out on the small dining table, Sydney begins preparing. Victor's birthday is this week, and he needs a party. After everything he's done for Sydney, throwing a small celebration is the least she can do.

Dol staggers tiredly into the living room, collapsing by Sydney's feet as he falls asleep again. Sydney pats his head as she steps over him, carrying a small box of cake mix into the kitchen. Once the batter is mixed and put in the oven, Sydney begins walking around the room, locating the perfect spots for the decorations she's been hiding for months.

Sydney drags a chair to the opening of the hallway, climbing onto it to hang a banner that says 'Happy Birthday' in red and black letters. Dol barks as Sydney tilts slightly, and Mitch runs down the hall at the sound.

"What are you doing?" he asks, rubbing his eyes as he looks up at Sydney, blocking the doorway.

"Decorating," she grunts, placing the last thumbtack in the banner.

"For what?"

"Victor's birthday."

"He said he didn't want us to do anything," Mitch points out as Sydney climbs off the chair. "Finding out when his birthday is seemed like enough hassle."

Mitch carries the chair to the table on his way to the kitchen. He sees the oven is on and turns the interior light on before looking up at Sydney.

"You made him a cake." Mitch sighs, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck. "What do you want me to do?"

Sydney jumps up and down in place. "Can you help me hang some of the other decorations? You're tall enough."

"Tell me what goes where."

While Mitch puts the decorations exactly where Sydney wants them, she removes the finished cake from the oven and works on the cake decorations while it cools. Mitch is kind enough to not ask where she got everything, focusing on her directions for streamer placement.

"Where is Vic, anyway?" she asks, setting a fondant replica of Dol to the side.

Mitch shrugs. "Looking for something, I guess. New markers, a book? Who knows?"

"Is he going to be mad about all of this?"

"He might act mad," Mitch answers. "But I don't think he'll actually mind. He doesn't think he deserves much."

"Then let's show him how wrong he is."

Sydney has just put the last decoration on the cake when a key is inserted into the lock on the front door.

"Mitch!" she calls, smiling at him when he returns with Dol on his heels.

Victor opens the door and steps inside, stopping when he sees the large birthday banner and matching streamers.

"Happy Birthday!" Sydney cheers.

"What is all of this this?" he asks, closing the door and setting his disposable bookstore bag down.

"It's a birthday celebration for you," Sydney answers. "I made the cake and Mitch helped me decorate. I know it's a few days early, but you weren't here, so I though we'd surprise you."

"I told you not to do anything," Victor argues. "I don't-"

"Shush," Sydney demands, "I don't want to hear it. You deserve all of this and more, so don't you dare try and convince yourself or me otherwise."

Victor nods, looking at the cake. "Thank you. It's, uh, it's been a long time since I actually celebrated."

"Now I wish I'd made a bigger cake," Sydney mumbles.

"The cake is perfect, Sydney. Everything is perfect. Thank you both," Victor says quietly. "Just don't do it again."

Sydney laughs, intent on celebrating Victor any chance she gets because he deserves it. Not only because he saved her life and promised to keep her safe but because he's been through so much and had so many people tell him he's worthless. Victor Vale is home to Sydney, the safest place in the world, and she needs to do this for him because of who he is, not what he's done.

"I wasn't sure about the colors, and they don't sell black on black birthday decorations," Sydney says. "I thought red and black would work."

"It looks great." Victor looks at the cake and narrows his eyes as he asks, "Is that us?"

"It is! You, me, Mitch, and of course, Dol. They're - we're - edible, but it seems a little weird to eat them," Sydney rambles.

"I really don't deserve all this, Sydney," Victor tries again.

"Don't argue with her, man," Mitch interjects. "You don't want to know how many times those streamers had to be moved."

"If you'd listened the first time," Sydney grumbles, causing Victor to smile while she isn't looking.

"Thank you for all of this. Maybe birthdays aren't so bad," Victor says.

Dol barks as Mitch cuts a piece of cake, and though there aren't presents or a fancy birthday dinner, it's the best birthday celebration Victor has ever had. Maybe, Sydney thinks, by next year, he'll be more willing to tell her his favorite cake flavor.

3. Romantic headcanon for fave ship.

Okay so my fave romantic ship is actually SoMa. You probably were hoping for another pair from me though heheh so I'll do two for this one.

I'm realizing that I'm not good at thinking of romantic headcanons for SoMa, because I see them as kids and not getting too romantic till post-canon... So I guess these are more just...intimacies? I like the idea that Soul helps Maka on and off with her boots. Look at those things... They are HEAVY. And I honestly can't tell without going back to look at screenshots but it looks as if the metal? Is an external thing, kind of like the spikes you put on snow boots to walk through ice? It looks like the metal may be its own thing altogether that she wears just for combat's sake. Which...well man, her legs must be strong. But yeah... I feel like Soul helps her on/off with her boots. Which is quite a personal thing. And then Maka, I feel like she does Soul's laundry and specifically hand-washes his head bands for him. Rich boy don't know how to do laundry when he first comes to the academy, fight me... And rather than make fun of him, Maka just...helps. And with the head bands specifically she takes that extra care because they're important to him, to the look he's after. And she never says a word about it, and he probably only shyly and guiltily tells her thanks every other week or so. They don't talk about it. It's just something she does. And then...I like to think he lets her hear him play. Like if he's sitting in his room, writing a new song on his guitar... She creeps up to the door to listen, peering in the crack... He left it open to let her know she's welcome. And she just sits there silently listening to him compose, knowing that in itself is a gift. And he lets his soul be seen in that way, cuz that's so deeply personal.

As for Spirit and Stein, which is who I assume you were really asking about... Shockingly I prefer them platonically, but on the romantic side... And this is all post-canon thoughts for me, for these two, btw.

I think they're actually absurdly gentle with each other, when it comes to physical things. Too much past baggage for both of them individually and together, so they are extremely cautious together and make no assumptions. And if ever things heat up they take a step back and make sure they're both okay. They take things at their pace, neither rushing ahead of the other. Also, Spirit is the one in charge lol. Also I think they spend a lot of quiet time together. Spirit reading some deep book about the history of witch-kind, Stein next to him on the couch studying weapon soul anatomy on his laptop. Till one of them falls asleep against the other, and then oh well trapped forever now guess it's nap time. Just...quiet intimacies like that. They've been together so long that words aren't that necessary; just being together is enough. They already know what the other is thinking. Apparently I'm not creative with romance lol.

5. A crossover related headcanon.

Ho-boy. I don't care for crossovers, lol. But here we go...

Guess I'll pick Kim Possible because it's the thing I have spent the most time in for the last four or five years. (My gosh who let me do that oh it was me oops.)

Mental image of Stein looking at Dr. Drakken, the two sizing each other up, noting each other's similar scars... (my gosh I have a type and that type is mad scientist apparently) and Stein privately thinking to himself... Why is this guy blue? Why's his girlfriend green and have these crazy powers that def aren't soul wavelength? Gotta "befriend" these people and then dissect them.

Meanwhile Dr. Drakken is looking at the screw in Stein's head like, boy you got a screw loose for sure if that's in fact real and how are you still alive? Are you a zombie? Feeling a little scared of him.

Until. Spirit just de-transforms out of Stein's hands and Drakken is like....human weapon??? Okay time to "befriend" these people and figure out how to get my own human weapons.

Basically, mad scientists figuring out how to manipulate the other toward their personal goals.

I'm not creative lol I'm sorry. Crossovers are just not where my thoughts go. Hope it was entertaining enough anyway.

on Propranolol (beta blocker) again for both cardiac and anxiety reasons

honestly it fucks with my asthma meds (some of which are beta agonists, so essentially they cancel each other out a little)

but I enjoy the "I'm not sedated but it sure feels that way" vibe that I personally get from this med lmao

if there's a Cybertronian equivalent of Propranolol, I have to wonder if Ratchet himself might potentially benefit from it, given his spark issues...

although it might be more effective for something like managing certain types of spark destabilisation, not chronic/long term spark burn out, but it could maybe be part of a condition management plan for some age related spark conditions which Ratchet's burn out at least partially qualifies as (on top of likely being stress exacerbated etc.)

once again wishing we had more canonical Cybertronian health details but I am Like This so of course I want those deets, lmao

in the universe where the Lost Light just kept on adventuring, I'm sure First Aid would eventually suggest it to Ratchet once they caught on to what's happening, earlier intervention may have been helpful and I think First Aid even suggests this to be the case in the last issue (would need to double check and I'm on work break right now lol)

but I can fairly easily imagine that Drift would eventually get worried enough about Ratchet's health that between him and First Aid, Ratchet would probably submit to the necessary exams/tests and at least give it a go lol

Ratchet would try to complain about it but he'd be too physically zoned out for it. "I'm relaxed but not because I want to be. Aid, put those fragging tools back. Pretend I am shouting." First Aid would just give Drift a reassuring thumbs up while Ratchet's leaned back in his desk chair and can't see it lmao

Ratchet ends up falling asleep at his desk the first day and wakes up covered in a tarp/blanket Velocity had draped over him at some point (with Drift hovering nearby, of course)

Drift still worries but First Aid explained that the medication can contribute to drowsiness etc. so even though Drift is concerned, he thinks it's probably good that Ratchet's operating at a slower (and healthier) speed, and he's happy Ratchet is finally getting some much-needed care and rest :')

Still stresses Drift out to see Ratchet so slow and seemingly sedated for the time being, but he trusts First Aid and knows it's worth trying

Ratchet is mad about it lol but also admits that his spark compartment and chest mechanisms are less sore and he doesn't feel as overclocked as usual-- He does feel old, though, and doesn't like being slower and more tired even though that should improve a bit gradually, but he knows it's good to have finally sought out care, even if he only did it for Drift's sake (at first, anyway)

I gotta go back to work now so this isn't really a complete thought or anything but in my defense Propranolol has me slow as hell today LMAO

-Chuck’s anxiety spikes out of control sometimes and so he’s often up and at ‘em even at like 4am just mechanically coding well into the morning just bc he can’t sleep. Other Burners have TRIED to help him fall asleep and they’ve had varying levels of success but no one really knows how to combat Chuck’s insomnia for sure

-Older Chuck smokes weed like a chimney and you cannot convince me otherwise, that boi self medicates like his life depends on it. His whole room be dank as hell

-Messy af room btw, but there is def a method to his madness. Wires and car parts EVERYWHERE tho and also scraps of cloth that he cuts and sews shittily for his LARPing stuff. He still loves it tho

-I love the hcs floating around that he can be very assertive when he wants to be, and likes to take control every now and then :) I’ll leave it at that for now :)

-Chuck tried making a racing game for the Burners, and he got so far as figuring out how to model everyone’s cars but eventually gave up on that passion project after the race in Blonde Thunder. Even just being behind a virtual wheel was too distressing for him LOL

-He’s canonically a cyborg and spends time looking up, downloading, modifying random codes for his own internal wiring. He “mods” himself sometimes and as anxious as he can be, he’s very confident in his programming skills and trying out sketchy codes on himself

-That being said, he’s kinda insecure about being part-robot. No one but him and maybe Mike knows exactly how much of him is metal, and how much of him is organic. He keeps that info to himself bc of self-doubt. Who knows how the rest of the Burners will treat him if they knew? It’s bad enough that he doesn’t know how to drive!

-Besides programming, Chuck actually does try to take up a bunch of other hobbies like learning to play a guitar, a keyboard, trying to improve his sewing skills so he doesn’t just make messy stitches on LARPing costumes, painting, doodling etc etc but like Mike always says “sometimes being a Burner can get in the way of personal stuff”

-PIERCED CHUCK PROPAGANDA!!! I definitely buy into it!! Chuck may hate getting tattoos but this dude gets pierced up later on, I JUST KNOW IT. He has a cool collection of piercings on his ears (daith, triple helix, industrial, orbital etc etc) as well as tongue piercings and… other piercings 😏

-I truly believe that Chuck ran away to MC first— before Mike— and then they met up again there when Chuck heard about a “cadet who saved an apartment full of ppl”

-He ran away in the 1st place after believing that he “lost” Mike when Mike got promoted from being a jr cadet to a full cadet. They hung out together a lot less after that and Chuck couldn’t ignore the evil he was finding as he was training to be part of R&D… so he dipped, terrified and lonely

-Jacob “adopted” Chuck immediately after taking pity on him. One could only watch a scrawny blonde kid stumble around Motorcity and get picked on for so long lol

-That makes Chuck Thee Original Burner!! Fight me about it

-Chris P. confirmed that Chuck knew about cars even while living up in Deluxe, often bragging about how well he’d drive if he ever got in one. It was Chuck who introduced the concept of cars and driving to Mike in the 1st place when they were younger

-Chuck is JUST AS protective of Mike as Mike is of the Burners, that’s his childhood friend!

Mike 💚

-Has his cadet days drilled into his bones unfortunately, this poor guy always does his bed up military style, wakes up at 6am SHARP every single day and works out first thing in the morning. Still, the routine helps a lot and it’s one of the only habits he appreciates from his past

-Has nightmares not too often but… when they hit, they hit bad. Sometimes he just decides not to sleep at all and just joins Chuck on a couch somewhere

-I truly believe he has ADHD!! I’m integrating that into my belief system fuck it

-Bc of that, he often forgets to take care of himself. And not even in the bad I’m-gonna-do-this-dangerous-thing-that-might-kill-me kinda way (well most of the time) but the oops-I-forgot-to-eat-and-it’s-been-8-hrs-since-my-last-meal kinda way. Chuck definitely helps remind him to eat and take breaks, otherwise Mike’s gonna jump into another hours-long errand run across Motorcity without even eating a peanut

-Mike’s super grateful for Chuck, they’re opposites in the way where they complete each other. Chuck eats CONSTANTLY and likes to nap often, Mike basically paces himself on Chuck’s schedule when he’s feeling all out of wack and can’t take care of himself. Chuck happily bosses Mike around and makes him do some self care when this happens

-Older Mike might have some reservations about drugs n shit (good ol Deluxe conditioning in his skull) but he’s not an asshole to other ppl about it. That being said, this mf smokes cigs like a chimney and loves them. Cigarettes are the only thing he smokes, he doesn’t like being not-sober bc it makes him feel like he’s out of control (and the Terras drugging him in “Mayhem Night” didn’t help with that either lol)

-Where Chuck’s room is messy and chaotic, Mike’s room is scarily perfect. He stress cleans so ofc his room is gonna look pristine! Neatly folded sheets and shoes all in a straight line near the door, clothes all hung up perfectly in his closet just like in his cadet days. Not a wrinkle or a spot to be seen anywhere

-Likes to garden as a stress-reliever as well. Mike’s gotta use his hands and get his body moving or else he’ll Explode. He joins Jacob in his supermarket or just does chores around the garage whenever he can

-Burners know that the neater the hideout looks, the worse Mike’s mental health is tho. It sucks, they’re still figuring out how to help calm him down sometimes

-Funny, but for a guy who’s so sunny and upbeat all the time, Mike fuckin LOVES scary dark music. Grindcore and black metal are his top fave genres, much to Chuck’s chagrin. Chuck doesn’t hate metal, it’s just that listening to terrifying hardcore music while Mike’s doing donuts mid-air in Mutt after going 325mph absolutely doesn’t help calm his nerves

-Mike is… not very good with emotional stuff. He’s also shown in the show to be a lil short-sighted and DUMB as hell when it comes to taking social cues (the employee at the refinery acting weird and CLEARLY reading from a cue card in “The Duke of Detroit Presents…”, Chuck’s personality doing a total 180 IMMEDIATELY after Julie brings in the Kaneco booster… like Mike why in gods name would you miss those obvious signs) and it’s probably bc he was trained to be emotionally stunted as a military boy. He still tries his best tho <3

Dutch 💜

-Chuck and Dutch are the bestest buds aside from Chuck n Mike, don’t @ me. They work on the Burners’ cars all the time, how could they not be! Dutch is always giving Chuck props on wiring and upgrading the cars and Chuck thinks that Dutch’s designs and mechanical skills are godly

-Dutch eventually takes their art off the paper and walls and moves onto tattooing after seeing so many Motorcitizens rocking cool art on their arms. They start just like any other teen tho: shitty stick n pokes

-Eventually, the other Burners want tattoos on themselves too (well not Chuck cuz he’s a weenie LOL) and Dutch is more than happy to provide. Even Mike asks for one, much to everyone’s surprise. Julie gets a couple tiny ones where she can easily hide it from her dad. And everyone gets a Burner tat, absolutely

-Ok yeah I also integrate “Dutch is an enby” into my belief system. Sue me. He doesn’t believe in the concept of gender, just goes by he/they for convenience but I really think he doesn’t give a single fuck about it all otherwise

-They start learning from Tennie after going steady in their relationship, and they bring back all the sweet Cabler’s knowledge into the Burners’ car upgrades

-Claire and Dutch start chatting about fashion one day while Julie runs off and leaves them to hang out. After that, Dutch is much more mindful of his wardrobe and even hits her up sometimes to swap fashion ideas and tips

-They love customizing like, everything ever that they can get their hands on. Dutch’s room is for sure the most tricked-out one in the hideout, complete with custom furniture, decked out wall of lights (that Chuck helped program to feature Dutch’s art on it) and more art on the walls than anywhere else in the garage. It’s Dutch’s own slice of heaven

-Older Dutch also partakes in the smoking of the zaza, so him and Chuck just chill out in their lil weed corner outside (bc Mike and Julie hate the smell so no smoking indoors!) just puffing on blunts and showing off new bowls and bongs that they recently bought

-Dutch goes to Chuck to figure out how to establish a private non-traceable line so he can call his family every now and then without alerting Kane grunts. He updates them about stuff (and privately tells Dar about Tennie lol)

-Dutch picked up ROTH’s body after a battle against the Kane bots, intending on studying the metal polymer stuff Kaneco makes to use on the Burners’ cars. But then ROTH woke up, the battle completely wiping his intended functional coding and shocking the hell out of Dutch. But ROTH didn’t attack, and then slowly but surely everyone got used to having a floating Kanebot cluelessly wandering around the base. Dutch decided to paint the bot so he doesn’t keep surprising everyone LOL

Julie 💛

-She’s a weeb idgaf if everyone else thinks so too, it’s my hc now. She pirates and downloads shitty old anime onto drives with Chuck’s help and brings them up to Deluxe so she can watch them in secrecy

-Julie has a room in Deluxe ofc but she also has one built for her down in Motorcity as well. She thinks that the room that she has freedom to decorate and customize is way more “her”. She’s got anime figurines, posters that Dutch painted for her (featuring her fave anime characters ofc), plushies practically spilling out from the shelves, and she’s so happy that she gets to have a room where she can really be free!

-Julie pops the collar of her vest, inspired by Mike

-Idk what kinda music is allowed in Deluxe (probably nOT MUCH) but anyways Julie discovers pop and techno in Motorcity and literally cannot shut up about it afterwards. The other Burners do not really share her enthusiasm for Kpop but they try to be supportive nonetheless

-Jules is oddly enthusiastic about music in general. How could she not be, after hearing only pleasant elevator music all her life? She obsesses over playlists and makes ALL the playlists for the Burners

-She’s the sentimental one for sure. She hoards more stuff in her room in MC than in Deluxe but either way, wherever she makes a space for herself, it’ll always be filled with photos and doodles and lil gifts she receives from other ppl. Even 9Lives has a couple toy charms dangling from mirrors and compartments lol

-Julie loves makeup and painting nails, something she got from Claire. She tried to hide it away from the Burners to “fit in” and then immediately blew that cover once Dutch broke out the nail polish and started to paint their nails one day. After that, she teams up with them to paint everyone’s nails and does cute designs

-She DID know about Mike before formally meeting him after he defected. Ofc, she’s always been observant even tho Kane always tried to hide her away from the public. After Mike ran away to MC, Julie watched it all go down from her dad’s security cams and followed him down there. She has to pretend she doesn’t even know much about Mike, despite having access to his files

-Mike and Julie are The Shippers and wingmen of the group FOR SURE. I know this is kinda canon but idc, you can’t convince me they don’t get together and gossip about other ppl’s relationships all the time. Mike only knows about other ppl having crushes just bc of how observant Jules is

-Julie’s stolen cop car isn’t from Deluxe, it’s from a junkyard in Motorcity. Cops were disbanded in MC a while ago— courtesy of the gangs lol— so that meant easy pickings for Julie

Texas ❤️

-Born and raised in Motorcity (confirmed by creator), Texas helped run his family’s automotive business fixing up cars from junkyards and selling them/their parts (mostly to the Duke lbr). He was the only Burner who had a car even before the Burners formed

-He was The Ride before Mike and Chuck finally built up Mutt and got her running properly, but his car wasn’t Stronghorn just yet, just a custom car cobbled up from various other car parts that he borrowed from his dad

-I truly do believe Texas has a huge family with like a million siblings and that’s why he’s able to get away for long periods of time and do crazy stuff with the Burners all the time

-Potential angst right there… maybe. Cuz he doesn’t get enough attention at home being one of like… 7 or 8 kids or something 😅

-Chris P. said Texas’ parents are the total opposite of him and are intellectuals. Maybe they’re also from Deluxe (R&D even) and couldn’t see themselves having children safely there after Kane went crazy with power, so they ran away to MC and gave birth to their kids there. For as long as Texas can remember, his dad ran the auto shop and his mother headed the Motorcity development council. His parents are VERY involved in the community but… not very involved with the family

-I LOVE the idea that Texas and his siblings are all named after the states. I feel like Alaska, Iowa, Delaware, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Dakota, Nebraska… even Maine are cute names!

-Yknow what… those all sound like girl names lowkey. What if Texas is the ONLY brother in his family which is why he hams up his masculinity so much? Hc accepted. Texas and his 7 sisters, I dig it

-Hear me out. Texas initially taught Dutch the basics of constructing a car, transferring and modifying engines, etc etc but Dutch is a smart cookie and eventually their knowledge surpassed Texas’

-Texas is the movie buff of the group and fucken loves sci-fi, old westerns, martial arts, noir and thriller movies. His room is overflowing with movie memorabilia, posters, and shitty crayon doodles of his movie heroes. Any time he’s got downtime he’s always on his lil VR movie headset goggles rewatching something called “5 Dragons of the West: Journey to the Gold Snake” or something

-Texas, like Julie, doesn’t live in the Burners Hideout since he always just goes home after the end of the day. Only Mike, Dutch, and Chuck live there full-time. Julie has the room she stays in sometimes, Texas crashes on a couch (probably where his workout gear is) if he’s too tired to drive back home

-Mike got his adrenaline junkie habits from riding in Texas’ car before building Mutt

-Older Texas absolutely gets tatted up. AND he starts wearing more muscle shirts to show them off ofc!

-Texas is ridiculously emotionally intelligent, even tho he’s a knucklehead most of the time and I believe it’s bc he’s got a ton of siblings. He’s also one of the middle children too, so he’s capable around lil kids as well

-Texas can’t spell bc he’s dyslexic

-Junior and Texas absolutely have SOME history together. Maybe they even grew up together, as that’s not so far-fetched since ppl might buy cars from Texas’ dad’s shop to enter the competitions in the Mama’s Boys Arena

Jacob 💙

-Obviously The Dad of the group of ragtag kids. Mike and Chuck aren’t the only kids that Jacob’s helped out of the rubble of MC, but they are the only ones who stuck around. Yes, Jacob’s an old crazy coot but he has endless patience and plenty of seaweed casseroles for everyone :)

-Motorcitizens know him as The One Who Helps Orphans, specifically ex-Deluxians since he’s one of the only elders who’s been up in Deluxe and didn’t disappear amongst the Motorcity population yet. In “Off the Rack” there’s a split-second where Jacob’s shown greeting the recent Deluxian defectors at Antonio’s, I feel like he takes responsibility over helping Deluxians integrate into MC

-Bc of that, he’s got some p sweet connects across the city. Jacob’s got doctors and nurses, librarians with info, and resources all on speed dial just for the kiddos

-Jacob was the 1st person to show Mike what a car was irl and showed him how to drive in Sasquatch. It was Mike and Chuck who figured out how to build Mutt in the 1st place tho, and they took lots of inspo from the old car magazines lying around Jacob’s office in the supermarket

-The lil haunted house the Burners built for Halloween for the kids of MC was Jacob’s idea :)

-Doc Hudson and Jacob absolutely hook up after Hudson gets settled in MC, sue me. If you cringe at the idea of two old men bumping uglies, you are weak and will not survive the winter

-MC basically celebrates every holiday with a parade or a giant block party somehow, and the city’s first Pride Parade did not disappoint. Jacob made sure to sign the kids up for a spot in the parade and helped them build the float. It got crashed by Kanebots (of course) but the Burners saved the day (again!)

-Jacob stays away from the Burners’ main living space but still lives close by to check in on them every now and then. But he gives the boys their privacy for the most part

-Jacob DOES have Texas’ parents on speed dial as well. Which he uses to threaten Texas into behaving every now and then, but it’s no use. Everyone knows he never calls anyone’s parents unless it’s an emergency lol

I am so mad rn I fell asleep at like 7 pm I didn't mean to I just woke up and was hoping it was at least like idk 3 am but NO it's 11:30 pm and im not tired enough to go back to sleep so now I have to choose to either stay awake and be on my phone or lay in the dark and hope that's enough to lull me to sleep and I'm pissed bc I have a full day ahead tomorrow and I'm not asleep right now so I'm going to be miserable in the morning but I'm not staying at my house rn so my body is doing the weird thing it does when you stay at a friends house and it's weird about sleeping and I kind of wanna hurl myself off of a cliff rn and my phone is lagging as I write this out and it's pidssing me off even more

But yes I enjoyed the one shot I don't remember its name right now but the qsmp one it was very good and I loved the ichor children concept that's so cool :)

Oh anon I’m so sorry as someone who has dealt with anxiety-induced insomnia to the point where I had to get therapy for it I know the frustration with not being able to fall asleep. Currently my go to solution whenever I’m not tired and can’t sleep is the anxiety meds I got prescribed for that exact issue lol, but obviously you can’t do that so here are my tips

If possible, find some melatonin or at least see if you have chamomile tea. If you don’t have either of those, what usually works for me is to turn on a long YouTube video on my phone and just watch until I get sleepy. Old vods are always a good option if you want something to be interested in, but it’s probably better to watch them from a calmer cc (Niki had a super long let’s play series where she played a story game called beyond two souls and I used to listen to that whenever I had trouble sleeping).

My current go to for sleepy videos are either ASMR videos (but I know those aren’t everyone’s tastes), or two specific channels: Baumgartner Restoration or NileRed. Baumgartner is the channel of an art conservator who makes long and very detailed videos showing his conservation and restoration process for paintings clients send him. It’s so fascinating to watch, and his voice is really calming at the same time. I literally turn on a video of his every night before I sleep and rarely get more than 5 minutes into it before I’m passing out. NileRed is a slightly more…energized channel of a guy who does a lot of weird and cool chemistry! His voice is also really even-toned and calming to listen to, but the main reason his stuff helps me sleep is the minute he starts explaining ochem concepts I knock tf out. I did a full years worth of ochem in college it’s like an instinctual reaction to want to pass out hearing it again 😭

Anyway. Find some videos like the ones I suggested—preferably at least 45 min or longer. Just watch it and try to focus on the content rather than the fact that you can’t sleep. If you start getting sleepy, great! If you’re unsure but you’re kind of tired, try closing your eyes and just listening to the video. I’ve fallen asleep like that so many times before it’s my last resort method

I need opinions bc my mind is fighting with itself.

So the girl I kinda talk about on here, I don’t know how she feels about me. Do I annoy her, does she like me, is she indifferent? I’m just tired of my mind going back and forth on this. My social anxiety definitely doesn’t help in how I perceive our interactions. So I need opinions.

So we go to church together and were on a rugby team together. During practice, we couldn’t really talk so we didn’t talk much but sometimes she’d give me a ride and we’d talk then. We’d talk a lot but it was always a little awkward bc I’m awkward and I think she’s a little awkward too. Except occasionally it wasn’t that awkward and that was nice. It’s always fun to talk to her. There was this one time that we were waiting for another girl to pick up for like 10 minutes (she didn’t end up coming and didn’t know we were waiting lol) and we just talked the whole time. We mainly talked about texting and how we don’t really know how to bc people will think you’re mad if you do or don’t do things and yada yada. Anyways, it was nice. So we always talked when she’d give me rides, I noticed that it was always easier to talk to her when it was just the two of us. Idk why. Then at church, it took awhile but we started talking more. Today, I was brave and sat next to her and we talked and yeah. She was really tired though so she was like falling asleep. But it was really nice because I spent like the whole hour before seeing her sick to my stomach from anxiety about talking to her because I think she’s really fun and cool and pretty so I automatically get more anxious around her. It’s annoying. Last week in church she showed me her prom pictures and I showed her mine and she said I looked pretty but she sounded a little awkward or like she was just saying it bc it’s what you’re supposed to say idk, it still made me happy lol. We watched a play for a church activity and we sat together and talked and she said stop making me laugh bc I was apparently making her laugh. That also made me happy. Afterwards, we made paper airplanes out of the program and threw them but mine sucked. She told me she got a job and said I should work there. She said it two different times. I told her about a gym membership thing and she said we should work out together but another time, she brought it up in a group and said that they should all work out together. So it’s like, she’s just a really outgoing person I think and I’m nothing special, so does she even consider us friends? We text pretty often but pretty much just the game pigeon games on iPhone but I think she texts everyone the games bc she mentioned doing it with another girl she’s not really friends with. Three days ago, I saw her at a rugby thing and got dog spit on her hand and wiped it on me and I chased her trying to get it back on her and then I tripped and scraped my knee and then accidentally got blood on her shirt and I feel really bad still hah. I felt like I probably annoyed her after that. Sometimes, she leaves without talking too me and I can usually tell something’s up, like she’s tired or has a headache or something. But, the thing is, i don’t know if she actually likes being around me. I don’t know if she considers us friends. I don’t know if she actually wanted me to work with her because I really want to work with her but don’t want to seem weird. I just don’t know.
