Because for one, he fell inlove and married a Buckley, he knows what that looks like.

Second, because Chimney almost lost Maddie too and he is terrified that it could happen again.

Third, they pulled Buck's rescue together, they both ate themselves up about it. Chimney was sure that it should have been him instead.

because 1) feels good to know that like, i am riding hard for good people and 2) it’s just so funny to think of the dichotomy of them onstage vs offstage
