Beekeeper Wednesday Pt. 2.5
Enid: Aww, who’s a good little eldritch demon? Who is it?
Wednesday: *happy demonic rumbles and screeches*
Enid: Yes you are! Yes you are!! Such a cute little eldritch demon!
Yoko/Divina/Bianca: 😨😭😐
Enid continues petting the vague shadow form that is and is not Wednesday, and the shadow wraps her/itself around Enid happily.
(Enjoy this little tidbit of Beekeeper Wednesday <AU created by @caitlynskitten> until I can figure out something for part 3! Thanks to Caitlyn & @achromatophoric for the inspiration to this lol. I would’ve never thought of turning this into an Eldritch Wednesday thing, but they did lol. And last, but definitely not least, thanks to @lisaslosingstreak for reigniting my interest in this au lol.)

My dad got me watching Wednesday and I'll be honest, I'm only 2 episodes in and I have a major problem with the show.
There's a "beekeeping club" that Wednesday joins with like one other kid who's supposed to love beekeeping and know all about it, but the show uses skep hives instead of the modern Langstroth or even a National. Probably because they fit the visual theme better and look "vintage"
The difference is, both the Langstroth and National types of hives have removable frames, whereas the skeps do not.
So, to gather honey from a skep, you have to completely destroy the hive.
No more honey stores for winter, no brood frames, nothing. You're taking it all and they can't build back up in time for winter, if they even survive the harvest.
Eugene Ottinger is an irresponsible beekeeper and only cares about the aesthetic.

Dean doesn't like the word "boyfriend." He decides this the second time Cas says it–the first time it was new, shiny, exciting. The second time, he fights the urge to cringe.
It's not the "boy" part. It's not. It would have been, for a long time, but he's dug all that shit up and unpacked all the suitcases. They hold hands in public. They kiss goodbye in front of his coworkers at the garage.
It's just–not enough. Not nearly. Jack comes home from hanging out with his friends and fills Dean on the gossip and his boyfriend and her girlfriend and–that's not them. "Boyfriend" feels like a cheap mockery. Like how demons used to tease.
He's heard "partner." He's heard it from Sam, to Eileen, but he doesn't know how he can stomach it. He's said that word too many times. I'm Agent Tyler and this is my partner, Agent Perry. This is my partner, Agent Page. My partner, Agent Stills. All lies. Sam says he likes it, that he's making it mean something real. Besides, Eileen loves it.
Good for them, Dean thinks. It makes his skin crawl.
So he sticks with “boyfriend” and he shrugs off the funny urge to protest every time Cas says it. It makes him happy, and honestly, it’s not like he has an alternative.
It’s a Sunday when he realizes that somehow, Cas does. They’re at the farmer’s market, like Cas is every weekend, but Dean had picked up weekend shifts and missed the past few. Cas is excited the whole way there, telling Dean about how he’d manage to befriend the local honey vendor in his absence, how she’d invited him to a beginner’s apiarist group she helps run. They beeline (heh) to the honey booth as soon as they get there, and the woman--Judith? Janice?--smiles up at them both, hands Cas a jar of honey like she’d been expecting him, and says “Oh, this must be the husband! I’ve heard so much about you.”
Dean stares at Cas. Cas stares at the honey. Judith/Janice stares at both of them, smile fading as the silence goes on a beat too long.
Dean clears his throat. “Uh, yeah. The husband, that’s me! Ha ha.” Beside him, Cas relaxes, just barely. In front of him, the woman breathes an audible sigh of relief. “Sorry,” Dean shifts. “Just didn’t, um. Realize I was such a hot topic.”
The smile he gets is almost sympathetic. “Oh, only good things. Here,” she hands him a business card. “You should also come out to our meeting on Wednesday. Lots of people bring their partners.” She leans in, almost conspiratorial. “Beekeeping can be wonderful for couples.”
It’s at this point that Cas clears his throat and finally looks up from the honey in his hand, evidently giving up hope on escaping this conversation. “Thank you, Janet.” (oh. Janet.) “Dean works late on Wednesdays, but I’m very excited to see you all.” He’s pulling out money as he says this, apparently deciding to just go ahead and end the entire interaction. He hands her the bills, grabs Dean’s hand, and is already moving away from the booth by the time Janet calls “See you Wednesday!” after them.
Cas drags him all the way back to the car without stopping for tomatoes, or Sam's carrots, or the free-range eggs that are way too expensive but Cas buys anyway because you can taste when the hen is well cared-for, Dean (whatever that means). They slide into the car, still not talking, and sit in silence for several long seconds. Dean stares at Cas, who stares out the windshield at the parking lot.
"I can explain," Cas speaks, finally, right as Dean was about to open his mouth and say anything to break the silence.
Dean pauses. Can you? Cause I feel like I missed a few chapters, he thinks.
"I don't work late on Wednesdays," he says instead.
"Oh." Now it's Cas staring at Dean, and Dean staring out at the asphalt.
He turns the keys. He drives them home.
Later, making dinner, Dean rolls the word around in his head. Husband. He's making his husband pasta (It's missing the tomatoes. He's made more with less).
Husband doesn't feel like a costume, like an ill-fitting suit and scratchy tie. It doesn't feel like high school gossip, or a monster trying to hit him where it hurts. It settles in warm in his chest.
It's just the two of them that night, and they're eating in the comfortable silence of the bunker until Dean clears his throat and brings it up. "Why does Janet at the farmer's market think we're married?"
Cas pauses, fork of pasta halfway to his mouth. He puts the fork down and takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry."
"I'm not mad," Dean hurries to clarify. "It's just that there's usually, uh. Steps, you know. Like a whole....thing."
"I'm aware." Cas sighs. "She assumed, seeing us around - the first time I spoke to her without you, she asked where my husband was. And I..."
"You didn't correct her?"
"...No. I, um." Cas is looking down at his plate again. He picks up the fork, still half-full of pasta, then puts it back down again. "I didn't want to?" He says the end of the sentence like a question but looks back up at Dean and squints just a bit, and Dean knows he's watching for a reaction.
"Uh huh."
"It felt trivial."
"To tell her we're not married?"
"To call you my boyfriend." For the first time, he stumbles over the word.
Dean blinks. "You--" he stops, brain processing too much information to finish that sentence. "Okay." He leans back in his chair. Sighs. Rubs a hand across his eyes and lets it drag down his face. "Okay, listen. I don't like boyfriend either, but we gotta...talk about it."
"We are talking about it. You don't like it either?" Cas leans forward as Dean slumps back, following him across the table.
Dean snorts. "No, man." He shakes his head. "It's been a decade. I've seen you die." Six times. But who's counting.
"I agree." Cas pauses, and then, as if it's the most natural conclusion in the world, "Will you marry me?"
Dean actually laughs at this. "You're asking me that now?"
Cas quirks an eyebrow at him. "I've grown quite fond of calling you my husband at the farmer's market. I'd like to continue."
Dean stares at him in disbelief. It's not how he'd pictured it going, but he also can't think of it going any other way. Slowly, he nods. "Yeah, okay. Let's be husbands."
Across the table, Cas grins at him.
"But we're getting rings," Dean points a finger at him, because something about this is going to be normal.
"If you'd like. Although I already told Janet that you can't wear a ring because of your work at the garage, and I don't wear mine in solidarity."
"Rings," Dean insists, and decides to overlook the rest of that sentence. For now. He stabs his fork into a pile of the pasta. "And let me stop for the damn tomatoes next time."
They get rings and wear them on chains around their necks. Cas puts a beehive on the hill, and there's a small ceremony in the summer - a "vow renewal" to Cas' beekeeping group, who all receive invites attached to little jars of honey. Janet gets the nicest one.

Beekeeper Wednesday PT. 2
(Part 1)
Enid: Wednesday? Are you still in here?
Demonic growling and snarling sound from across the room as Enid enters with Yoko and Divina behind her.
Yoko: What the hell is that? You hear that, right? I swear to fuck, Enid, if I die from this, I’m going to haunt you forever!
Enid: It’s fine, Yokes! Just stay behind me and hold onto those crucifixes. I think they’ll work.
Yoko/Divina: YOU THINK?!
Enid: SHHHH!!! You’re gonna startle her!!
Suddenly, the demonic growling gets louder as a chill shoots down the spines of the three girls. They all freeze in place, waiting for what? They have no clue.
Divina: *whimpering* I think I peed my pants.
Enid: Wends? Are you here, babycakes? I have a gift for you! I know you’re still… upset about that whole thing with the suit, but I think you’ll like this gift! Can you come out? And also maybe not kill any of us? Pretty please?
A few seconds pass before a dark, shadowy figure appears from Wednesday’s closet, making the vampire and siren jump back to hide behind Enid, who smiles anxiously as she holds out a black box to the figure, who approaches slowly and menacingly. As the figure gets closer, all three girls close their eyes in fear and are all frozen in place, and the figure opens the box. Suddenly, all tension leaves the room and the figure disappears with the box. A minute later, Wednesday appears with a happy smile and the beekeeper suit on.
Wednesday: *runs up and hugs Enid* Thank you, mi loba! Have I ever told you that I love you more than anything on this plane of existence?
The three girls all instantly relax as Enid wraps Wednesday up in her arms, returning the hug gratefully.
Divina: *under her breath, to Yoko* Yeah, I definitely peed myself. Please take me home? I don’t think my legs are working anymore.
Yoko: *picks up Divina* Yeah, definitely. Um… we’re leaving now. Never ask us for anything ever again. Goodbye! *dashes out with her girlfriend*
End <3
(Thank you @caitlynskitten for this amazing au you created and thanks to you and @lisaslosingstreak for reminding me of this lol. Hope y’all liked this part 2!)

A love as sweet as honey
The Rogers Family's first Halloween
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: Fluff, kissing, The Barnes Family
A/N: I hope you guys like this!!! It's just a fun (I think it is) and fluffy extra for our other favorite family...
Series Masterlist

Steve was never one to celebrate Halloween before. Sure he would dress up but it was mostly with a last minute costume that Sugar shoved in his hand. This year he was very excited to celebrate though. As soon as Bee was born he already had a family costume in mind.
You weren’t one to celebrate Halloween either but seeing Steve so excited made you excited. He didn’t tell you what the costume was though. Steve would only let you know on Halloween day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Here you go.” Steve hands you a garment bag. “Please go get dressed while I dress myself and Bee.”
You just shake your head and grab the bag. Finally you would find out what Steve had been working on for the last few weeks. You hear Bee cooing as Steve asks if she’s ready for her very first halloween.
You’re confused by what you find. There’s an amber colored dress. The dress was made to look like it was dripping with teardrop shaped beads all over. There were also some shoes that made it look like the dress dripped on them. Finally there was a headband with a honey dipper floating in what seemed to be amber colored resin. The jewelry was little honeycombs and bees. You giggled but got ready, excited to see how Steve and Bee were dressed.
“Are you ready?” You call out as you walk towards the living room.
“More than ready.”
You laugh when you finally set your eyes on Steve and your daughter. Steve smiled proudly at his costume.
“A beekeeper and his Bee, that’s cute.” He was dressed like a beekeeper and he had Bee strapped to his chest dressed as a Bee.
“And his Honey of course.” Steve smiles as he snakes an arm around your waist and pulls you in for a quick kiss.
“So I’m just supposed to be a drop of Honey?”
“Yup. Now, we should get going before we miss out on all the fun.” Steve ushers you out of the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The halloween fair was in full swing. Kid friendly decorations were everywhere. As usual everyone that worked at the compound was there dressed up in all types of fun costumes. There are orange and purple lights hung up all around, carved pumpkins creating a path from the outer edges of the fair. Stalls for activities filled the area along with kiddie rides and food stands. Halloween music was played through speakers. Bee kicks her feet and coos while her head turns from side to side.
You and Steve make your way through the crowd. There are kids and parents running around trying to do as many activities as they can. The three of you are having a great time just walking around and taking in the sights and sounds. Towards the center of the fair, there’s  a DJ booth and dance floor. Before you make it any further you’re stopped.
“Who are you supposed to be?” Steve asks as he looks down.
“Am Wednesday.”
“The day of the week?”
“She’s Wednesday Addams.” You inform Steve with a smile.
Standing in front of both of you with an annoyed expression on her face is Charlotte. She’s wearing a black dress, two braids and there’s a hand on her shoulder.
“Wednesday Addams? With a hand on her shoulder?” Steve looks concerned.
“We’re going to have to watch the Addams family so you understand. The hand on her shoulder is a character called Thing.” You tell him before getting closer to Lottie. “That looks so cool. It’s almost real. How did you- AHHH.”
You scream when Henry turns visible. Meanwhile the Barnes kids and Steve laugh at your reaction.
“Sorry.” Henry says through his giggles.
“You’re two characters, smart.”
“Yeah, I’m Pugsley and Thing.”
“C’mon.” Lottie says as she starts making her way to her parents.
You and Steve follow her through the crowd until you reach Bucky and Sugar.
“You guys look amazing.” You say.
Bucky is dressed perfectly as Gomez in a black and gray striped suit and Sugar is killing it as Morticia in a long black dress, an equally as long black wig and Morticia’s signature makeup. In her arms is Peanut dressed as Pubert, the youngest Addams child.
“Us? You guys look so cute.” Sugar gushes.
“It was all Steve’s idea.”
“It was easy to come up with.” Steve smiles brightly.
The team slowly gathered around. Clint, Nat, Wanda and Vision were dressed up as ghostbusters. Sam was dressed as Dracula. Tony and Bruce didn’t really dress up. At least that’s what it looked like.
“Why didn’t you dress up?” Sugar shakes her head at them.
“We did.” Tony looks down at his The Flash graphic t-shirt. “I’m Sheldon Cooper. Bazinga.”
“And I’m Bill Nye.” Bruce fixes his bow tie.
“Mama can we go now?” Lottie points towards an entrance.
“Yes we can sweet Angel. Make sure you have your basket. Henry you too.”
Bucky hands the kids their baskets and holds one up to you. “For Bee’s first Halloween.”
“Thank you.”
The Barnes’ lead the way to the entrance Lottie pointed at a  big sign that read ‘Trick or Treat Lane’. Parents were lined up with their kids to get their candy. There were employees all standing next to boxes of candy, handing it out to all the kids.
“Twick oh tweat.” Lottie holds up her basket. She looks bored to be there but she’s capturing Wednesday Addams’ character perfectly.
“Trick or treat.” Henry’s next.
You watch as Steve excitedly walks up to the first person with Bee’s basket in hand.
“Can you say trick or treat, Bee?”
Bee just blows a raspberry and kicks her feet. The group goes down the very long trick or treat set up grabbing full sized candy bars and filling the kids baskets. Once that’s done everyone goes their separate ways to enjoy some of the other activities.
“Let’s go to the pumpkin station.” You pull Steve along and he happily follows you.
“Hello. Take a seat and we will give you each a pumpkin. You can either carve or paint your pumpkin just make sure you put all the tools back once you’re done.” The attendant explains.
Steve takes Bee out of the baby carrier and sits her on the table. She immediately grabs the small pumpkin and starts smacking it.
“Are you excited Bee?” You ask as you lean over to look at her. She smiles and coos while she pats the pumpkin in front of her. “Alright, let's get to painting.”
You and Steve spend a few minutes painting and laughing at Bee’s reaction to everything happening around her. She’s a very curious child.
“I need your hand honey.” Steve says.
“What for?”
“You’ll see.” Steve takes your offered hand and you shudder when you feel the cold paint being slathered on.
“Alright, what do you think?”
Steve turns the pumpkin around for you to see. It has his handprint in one color, then your handprint over his and finally Bee’s little print over yours.
“Aaww Steve, that’s so cute.” You lean in and give him a quick kiss. “I love it.”
“Now let me see yours.”
“Oh it’s not as good as yours. It’s just a little Bee and her keeper.”
Steve smiles again. You love to see him like this. Happy and carefree with Bee in his arms. He makes you swoon when he flashes that smile in your direction.
“It’s a great pumpkin Honey.”
After the pumpkin painting you both went off to find more games. You played Witch’s hat ring toss and won a little stuffie for Bee. Steve played the wheel of doom which had different dares on it. He had to eat a bug, a fake one at least. You entered the family costume contest and came in 2nd place. Steve insisted on having some pictures taken of the three of you at the Photo Booth.
“Where to next?”
“Steebie!” You both turned to look for Charlotte in the crowd. “Come dance.”
You find her at the edge of the dance floor with Henry holding Peanut. This time you carry Bee as you make your way to the kids.
“You wanna dance with me sweetheart?”
“No.” Lottie shakes her head. “I wanna dance with Bee. I can hold her. Here.” She holds up a bag of goodies for Steve to take, which he does reluctantly. Then Lottie holds her arms out for Bee.
“Make sure to support her head, Lottie.”
“I know. I take good care of her.” Lottie smiles at a babbling Bee. “Let’s dance Bee.”
With careful steps she gets to the dance floor while Henry takes Peanut and follows Lottie. Clint’s kids and Sam’s nephews were already on the dance floor. The Monster Mash came on the speaker and Steve wrapped an arm around your shoulders as you both watched the kids. Just as she promised, Lottie takes care of Bee while bopping along to the music. The other kids keep a protective semicircle around the youngest kids so no one accidentally bumps into them. It’s very sweet to watch. After dancing along to another song Lottie brings Bee back to you. Steve takes her and places her back in the baby carrier.
“Ok, I need a caramel apple.” You tell Steve as you take his hand and start dragging him in the direction of the stand.
“Whatever my Honey wants, my Honey gets.” Steve chuckles at your eagerness for the sweet treat.
You run into Sugar, Nat and Sam all waiting in line for an apple too.
“Cara mia.” Bucky says as he appears out of thin air. He takes his wife’s hand and leaves a trail of kisses from her hand up her arm and ending on her neck.
“You two disgust me.” Sam mutters.
“I think it’s cute.” You counter.
“That’s because you’re in love too.” Sam argues as he takes another step closer to the stand.
After everyone got their treats you took a seat at one of the picnic tables. Steve looked over at your apple and how it was covered with almost every topping.
“That is a lot of sugar.” He murmurs as he watches you take a bite.
“I’ll be fine. There’s an apple underneath, it balances out.”
“Tell me that after your sugar crash.” Steve jokes but lets you have your treat. Instead he focuses on Bee and your friends.
The kids make their way to the table to drop off treats, prizes and other things before they go back out and get lost in the crowd. Bucky now has Peanut sitting on the table, face to face with Bee. They babble and coo at each other while you and Sugar finish your apples.
“What are we doing next?” Sugar asks as she gets up.
“How about the haunted house?”
“We can’t take the kids in there.”
“Here, give me Bee.” Sugar tells Steve. “You guys go first and take your time, have fun.”
“Are you sure?” You ask her but she only smiles as she coos at Bee.
“Yes, go have some one on one time.”
“Thanks, we’ll be back soon.”
Steve takes your hand and leads you into the entrance of the haunted house. By the sounds of screams you can tell that it’s actually scary. Steve looks back at you to make sure you really want to do this. You nod and he walks in. The lights are either low or flickering.
 You held on tightly to Steve’s hand and still you screamed your head off when the first person popped out to scare you. After that you were really on edge. Every time you thought you were in the clear something or someone else would catch you off guard. By the time you walk out you’re sure the whole fair heard your screams. But still you laugh with Steve as you think back to how good you’d been scared.
Bucky waves you off when you come back to get Bee. He tells you to do a couple more things just you and Steve. While you’re both reluctant to leave Bee behind, you eventually give in and run off to do a few more things.
One of those things is apparently make out like teenagers in a dark corner of the fair.
“Steve.” You giggle between kisses. “We’re gonna get caught.”
“Who cares? I don’t.” Steve replies. His lips barely leaving yours, his hands roaming your curves.
But he isn’t the only one craving touch. You are too and reciprocate every touch and kiss. Still in the back of your mind you thought about how mortifying it would be if someone found you.
“Steve?”
“Yes, Honey?”
“You really don’t care if anyone finds us?” You pull back only to see Steve’s lust blown eyes looking down at you.
“How would you react if someone said ‘I saw Captain America making out with someone behind a building’?”
You smile, “I wouldn’t believe them for a second.”
“Exactly.” Steve leans in and places one more kiss on your lips. “But we can stop and go back.”
You pull him down by his neck. “A few more minutes won’t hurt anybody.”
~~~~~~~~~~
“Seems like you got your treat.” Sugar murmurs as you pass by and you can’t help the heat that creeps up your cheeks. She just laughs as you take Bee from her.
“Should we go get daddy, Bee?” You rock her as she leans her head on your shoulder and yawns. “Yeah, let's get daddy and go home. I think we’ve had enough fun for the night.”
“Have a good night, Y/N.”
“You too, Morticia.”
Steve is easy to find. He’s talking with Clint, Bucky and Sam about watching some game. When you get close enough he smiles at you and the sleeping little Bee in your arms.
“Ready to go?” He asks.
“Yeah, she’s already asleep.”
“It is past her bedtime.” He says, “I’ll see you guys tomorrow. I gotta get my girls home.”
The guys say their goodnights and let you go on your way.
 It’s a quick and quiet walk back home. You take Bee up to her room and change her out of her costume and into some cozy pajamas. By the time you’re done getting Bee and yourself into comfortable pajamas Steve is already on the couch with the basket of candy. You sigh as you sit next to him and take the piece of candy he offers you.
“So what should we watch?” He asks as he turns on the tv.
“We have to watch my favorite halloween movie, Hocus Pocus.”
“That’s the one with the witches that are sister’s right?”
“Yeah.” You smile up at him. “Have you seen it already?”
“No, but I’ve heard about it.”
“Perfect. After that we can watch The Addams Family. That way you’ll get why Bucky and Mags make perfect sense and Gomez and Morticia.”
“Whatever you want, Honey.”
Steve pulls you in close. The two of you snuggle as you introduce him to the Sanderson sisters. Overall the first Rogers’ family Halloween was a sweet success.
Wednesday convinces Enid and Yoko to join her in her investigation. Yoko wears her normal clothes. Enid wears her detective outfit including a detective hat and a long coat. Wednesday wears her beekeeping outfit because of course.
Yoko: We all look like we’re going to a Halloween party.
Enid: Why didn’t you dress with me? You could be my Watson!
Yoko: Because when you asked me to hang out I thought we were going to actually hangout. Not this!
Wednesday: You both are underdressed. The suits I picked out-
Yoko and Enid: We are not wearing the beekeeping suit.
Wednesday: DAMN IT!
“Approaching storm”
Morticia: Good morning, Wednesday. Are your friends awake?
Wednesday: no. Enid always sleeps until the last minute. Pressing snooze on her alarm until she sees me dressed ready to leave the room and then proceeds to scream at me for not waking her up. If I do try to wake up she screams at me for waking her up.
Eugene: -yawning- Good morning, Mrs Addams. Morning, Wednesday
Morticia: please, Eugene. Call me Morticia. Did you sleep well?
Eugene: I did. Oh my god! I- I-is that a Lion?
Wednesday: it just Kitty Kat. - there was someone behind the Lion trying to be sneaky- UNCLE FESTER!!
Morticia smiled at her brother. Wednesday happily leaped into his arms. Eugene was stunning at Wednesday’s emotional outburst
Wednesday: you made it!!
Fester: wouldn’t miss it for the world, Kiddo. Morticia says you have a big announcement. Has that fella I saw you with in the Nightshade library proposed?
Wednesday: ugh no. I am not interested in him. I have a girlfriend.
Fester: a girlfriend you say?
Wednesday: yes. Enid Sinclair. My roommate. You will officially meet her when she wakes up. This is Eugene. The beekeeper and my friend. Eugene, this is my Uncle Fester
Eugene: nice to meet you, sir -extending his hand only to get a slight electric shock shaking the bald man’s hand
Fester: -seeing a sleepy colorful blonde enter- You must be Enid. How you snagged Wednesday is beyond me but Welcome.
Enid was engulfed in a big hug
Gomez: Fester! You fiend. You made it. Lurch has gone to the airport for Cousin Itt and his family. They managed to make it out before the storm
Fester: ahh yes. Hurricane Mortimer. I was tempted to travel there to witness all the stranded tourists. It is always quite the sight. The storm has picked up intensity pretty quickly
Eugene snickered
Fester: what is so funny?
Enid: oh We have an an school mate out there! Wednesday? Do you still have the phone Xavier gave you? Does it even still work?
Wednesday: I do. It works. Why?
Eugene: you should text him! Ask if he’s enjoying the beach!
Wednesday smirked
“No!” Wednesday exclaimed as she ran up the hill at an unnatural speed.
She had gotten the vision too late. She saw whilst she was beekeeping with Eugene and Enid, you were supposed to be coming down, but they had gotten started because you were usually late. Enid had caught her when she suddenly collapsed and shook. She saw you emotionlessly tying a noose by your tree. Then you were placing four envelopes underneath a rock that read “E W E y/i”
“Wednesday?” Enid asked in concern when the shorter girl gasped awake.
“y/n.” Wednesday said softly before jumping up. She took off the beekeeping uniform and rushed out. “y/n’s in danger. Get Weems.” She called out behind her.
She watched from afar as you stood onto the stool and wrapped the rope around your neck. Wednesday called out for you, but she was too far away. Her legs ached as she tripped over her feet. She groaned and pushed herself back up. Enid and Eugene had just got to Larissa and she immediately shot up into action.
You strained to kick the stool away and Wednesday watched in horror as you struggled until there was no fight left in you.
It looked like you were sleeping, she hoped that you were sleeping, she hoped that you were sleeping.
Wednesday made it to the tree and, with shaky, sweaty, she untied the rope from the trunk. She let you down slowly and once you were lying on the ground, she rushed over to you. She took the rope from around your neck and placed your head onto her lap and checked your pulse. Her heart was beating so fast it hurt. You looked so peaceful.
She was alone like that, cradling your head in her lap for what felt like hours. Guilt ridden by your death. She should’ve been there for you. All three of them should’ve been there for you. Why didn’t you tell them that you were hurting? Why?
“Wednesday?” Weems asked, approaching slowly.
“I couldn’t… I couldn’t stop them. I’m- I’m sorry.” Weems kneeled next to Wednesday over your body. She sobbed for you, her child.
Enid, who was walking in front of Eugene saw the rope on the branch and the shake of the principal’s shoulders and stopped. She turned to Eugene with a fake smile. “Uh, I think that they have it sorted. y/n will be alright, I’m sure. Let’s go… keep the bees.” Enid said, spinning Eugene around and he smiled at her.
Some alone time with his crush would surely do him some good, right?
Dear Enid,
You were the first person that could ever tolerate me. You gave me the gift of friendship and because of you, I found another reason to live. I’m not saying that you’re not enough, or that you weren’t enough, because you are. I’m so incredibly sorry. I hope you don’t cry over me, I don’t deserve your tears. If you saw my body at the tree, I’m sorry. It was selfish of me to take my life in our spot, but it was the one place where I felt comfortable.
I could’ve taken pills, I could’ve drowned myself in a bathtub, I couldn’t cut myself and watched myself bleed, but I chose to ruin our spot. I’m sorry if you won’t ever come here again. I’m sorry I’m the reason you can’t sleep at night. I’m sorry that your worries meant nothing in the end.
My favourite thing about spending time with you was when you’d talk about that boy, Ajax. I loved hearing the things he did, waving or smiling at you. The date, how he stoned himself by accident. I’m sure Wednesday won’t mind if you started biting her ear off two times more than usual. Between you and me, I think she might have a little crush on you.
There were so many words I wanted to say to you, but I just couldn’t.It's so tough to talk when you desire to madder yourself. That's overhead and farther to everything else, and it's not a mental complaint-it's a physical thing, like it's physically difficult to begin your mouth and make the words approach out. They don' t approach out composed and in conjunction with your brain the way ordinary individuals's words do; they approach out in chunks, as though from a crushed-ice dispenser; you stumble on them as they accumulate behind your lower lip. So you just stay quiet, you know?
My sincerest apologies,
y/n <3
P.S. you can have my rainbow sweater, I know how much you like it.
-
Dear Wednesday,
I assume that you had some psychic vision and saw me tying the noose and all and I apologise for that. Don’t beat yourself up for not getting to me in time, Wednesday.
We didn’t talk much, but I feel as though I know everything about you. I know how you would do anything to protect the people you love, like dropping piranhas into a swimming pool full of guys. I also now how you’d make Thing travel to my bedroom on a night to drop off riddle that always ended the same way. “You’d tell me if you weren’t okay, right?” I should’ve told you. Maybe if I did you would’ve stopped me and talked me out of it. I apologise for lying to you, day in and day out. I just didn’t want you or anyone else to worry. I don’t want you to you blame yourself if you didn’t get to me in time, wat ily this is in no way your fault.
I’d say don’t cry, but knowing you, you won’t, anyway. :,).
I don’t really know what else to say to you other than, thank you for being you. Thank you for being a friend. Gracias por enseñarme a amar.
Kindest regards,
Your y/n
-
Dear Eugene,
Hi, buddy! I’m sorry that I’m missing your birthday this year, that’s very insensitive of me. I told you that we would go to Jericho for the whole day and miss all of our lessons doing just nothing. I’m sure Enid and Wednesday wouldn’t mind doing that with you if you asked.
You were like my brother, in fact, no. You were my brother. Your opinion means the most for me. I know you’ll cry, but I will always be with you. And between you and me, I think Enid has a little crush on you too, you know? I’m telling you, Eugene, make a move.
And, hey! A little joke for you: did you hear about that old Italian chef?
Lots of love,
y/n <3
P.S. He pasta-way! Too soon?
-
Dear Larissa Weems,
Last night I sat in your office and watch and you work. You looked so peaceful when I didn’t speak. I’m sorry if I bother you. Thank you for taking me in and giving me a home and family even when I felt as though I didn’t deserve it. It’s proving that I don’t though, isn’t it. You were an amazing mother, I’m sorry that I couldn’t be an amazing child.
I loved how on Saturdays we’d drive down to the Weathervane and you’d listen to me being me for hours alone. I’m sorry that I kept on hurting you, I never meant to. I know apologies won’t take back my actions and somehow I’ve said more in these notes than I have since that night.
Tonight the thoughts were about how to end things, with a heavy emphasis on the how. The process of suicide isn't exactly easy. It takes preparation, scheduling, and a certain level-headedness to kill yourself. A person has to be ready for it. They have to make the necessary plans, take the necessary steps. And, most importantly, he has to not only feel like dying, but also like killing. And the two feelings couldn't be more different.
I love you times more than all the stars in the world combined,
Your dearest, y/n.
At Your Service
Wednesday x Kitsune!Reader
Part One|Part Two|Part Three|Part Four|Part Five|Part Six|Part Seven
Ah yes. The annual Outreach Day has finally come to the town of Jericho. You sigh as you file to Pilgrim World with the rest of the volun-told Nevermore students assigned to the place. At least you had Enid with you.
Until you see dark braids instead of blonde.
Confusion set in as you sidle up to Wednesday, careful to still leave space to respect her boundaries.
"What are you doing here?" You whispered. "I thought you had Uriah's Heap."
Dark eyes flicker over to you. "Traded with Enid. She gets to be with Ajax and I get to learn about Joseph Crackstone."
"Crackstone?"
Before you could ask more, your liaison for Pilgrim World arrived and began her spiel about the park. You would have to ask Wednesday about it later. Especially with her interest in the meeting house.
-----+++++-----
Commotion drew your attention and you appeared in time to see the boy battling Wednesday end up in the stocks. With a smirk, you eased behind the other two and Eugene.
"I can't get into any more trouble with my dad." Lucas said. You chose that moment to clap both bullies on the back, startling them.
"You better skedaddle then. Don't think things'll get any better for you if I join the fray." You wiggle your eyebrows at the boys as they retreat. Eugene thanks you while Wednesday just nods and the three of you go to get the beekeeper clean.
Suddenly you find yourself tagging along with Wednesday to break into the closed meeting house.
"Eugene, give me your retainer."
Both you and Eugene balk at the goth. As the boy hammers on about teeth, you just take out your lockpick set and hand it over.
"Don't use a retainer. As resourceful as you are, I don't think we ended up cleaning that of vomit." You cringe at the thought of the goth touching the retainer, then it getting used as a lockpick only for it to go back into Eugene's mouth.
Wednesday looked at the lockpick you presented her with a quirk of her eyebrow before taking it.
"Both of you keep an eye out while I search."
Eugene looked uneasy. "What if Mistress Arlene catches us?"
You pat the boy on the shoulder. "We deny everything."
Denying everything didn't work out. Well, for Eugene at least. As soon as you clocked Arlene, you shifted into your fox form and escaped. You figured they'd be okay.
-----+++++-----
The door chimes as you enter the Weathervane. As soon as you could, you snuck away from Pilgrim World and ditched the frocks for your uniform. You knew Wednesday had dipped earlier and you sought her out, only to see her with Tyler. You ignore the little squeeze of your heart and walk up to them, managing to catch the tail end of their conversation.
"Besides, I know my way around the great outdoors."
Before Tyler could say anything else, you chime in. "And I'll tag along if it makes you feel better, normie boy."
"Or you can abandon me again."
"You had Eugene."
"Hmph."
Tyler, and Xavier in the background, looked between the two of you as you bicker. Confusion lines his face when Wednesday turns around to leave and you stay put, watching her walk away. When she reaches the door, she turns to look at you.
"Well? Are you coming or not?"
You grin at the normie before making your way to the goth. "Yes, ma'am."
-----+++++-----
Dealing with a transient wasn't on the list of things you thought you were going to do today, but neither was sleuthing about in the ruins of a centuries old meeting house.
"There's nothing here."
"At least of value...." You mention as you kick an old can out of the vicinity. You could hear tapping from the sentient hand that followed Wednesday. She eyes you for a moment before replying.
"No, I can't just touch something. My visions seem to happen spontaneously."
"Visions? Is that how you knew about Rowan?" You asked, taking any chance to learn more about your new friend and potential crush.
Wednesday nods in response before her eyes trail back to Thing.
"I would rather dye my hair pink then ask my mother for advice."
"Well, what else can we do here? Doesn't hurt to try." you shrug. Thing seems to tap in agreement before Wednesday snaps at him.
"Oh, you want me to prove it to you?"
Wednesday goes around the small area, touching the wood and walls. Each time she pointedly looks at Thing noting that nothing was happening. To make a point, she even picks up a discarded Taco Bell bag and mimics getting a vision, which causes you to laugh. There's a slight upturn on her lips at the sound before she motions to her comrades to leave.
"My visions are about as predictable as shark attacks."
You were following behind her as her hand touches the door and her body seizes. As the vision overtakes her, Wednesday falls back into your arms. You look at Thing, concerned for your friend's well being. He lets out a few taps and points to the makeshift shelter on the other side of the ruins. With a nod, you pick up the girl and make your way over.
Putting her down, you clear the area of trash and take off your outerwear. You had your hoodie under your blazer, so you took it off to lay it down so Wednesday didn't have to lay on a questionable surface. Luckily, you managed to get her situated before it started to rain. You quickly use your blazer as an umbrella, keeping most of Wednesday dry, as you wait for the girl to wake up.
Thing kept watch of the perimeter while you tended to Wednesday. Her face hardly held any emotion on a regular basis, but you swear you could see the calm on it now. However, her eyes darted back and forth under her eyelids. You wondered what she was seeing.
It was several minutes before Wednesday's eyes shot open and she lurched up, almost colliding with your forehead.
"Thing! Y/N! I saw her! The girl from my vision." Her eyes darted between the two of you as she spoke. "Her name is Goody Addams and I believe she's my ancestor from 400 years ago."
"Whoa. So did you figure out how Crackstone is involved?"
The goth took a moment to answer. She was suddenly struck with how close you were with your blazer above both of your heads. Her black heart stuttered slightly, the considerate acts you've done surprising her. You stared at each other until a snapping branch caught both your attentions.
"Must've been the bearded man from before."
Wednesday got up, walking away from you to look through a hole in the ruined walls. You quickly put your blazer back on and grab your hoodie. Walking over to Wednesday to take a look as well, you drape the hoodie over her shoulders and pull the hood up. You kept an eye out when the smaller girl looked up at you and slipped her arms through the sleeves. As soon as her eyes turned back to the hole in the wall, a monstrous eye appeared to meet hers.
Both you and Wednesday startle and back away as the monster runs off. Immediately, the goth bolts off with you and Thing, now on your shoulder, follow closely behind. The beast was quick and soon disappeared.
Wednesday slows down, eyeing the tracks that the monster left. You catch up to the goth, making sure to not interrupt her investigation. Sensing your presence, she glances at you and points out the change in tracks.
"The monster is human."
"Wait, what?" You lean in, looking at the tracks. "No way..."
"What the hell are you two doing?"
You jump, clutching your chest while Wednesday just turns to look at Xavier. You look around, wondering where the boy even came from.
"We were following the monster."
Tyler gapes at the two of you and looks around. "You saw it? It's here?" He then whirls around and glares at you two. "Do you have a death wish or something?"
You furrow your brows and steps up to them tall boy.
"What are you even doing here?"
"I overheard you guys talking about checking out the old meeting house. It's lucky I got here when I did."
You just roll your eyes and check out of the conversation. Especially after the tracks were rained out. While you felt like you could slip away now that the excitement was over, something seemed to keep you at Wednesday's side. It wasn't because of the bead in her possession since she didn't compel you to join her. You tagged along on your own.
Your attention begins to veer back to your companions when you hear Wednesday's voice begin to raise. It seemed like Xavier was trying to explain how unreliable visions were.
"You're creating a story in your head and using your visions to back them up. They're telling you what you want to see."
You stand behind Wednesday, as if you were physically backing her up.
"Dude, are you mansplaining her powers? Not everyone has the same experiences when it comes to their abilities."
Xavier just rolls his eyes. "All I'm saying is that my dad, the expert, would warn you that psychic abilities aren't rooted in logic. It's triggered by emotions." He looks pointedly at Wednesday. "And let's be honest. Emotion's not your strong suit."
A scoff escapes your lips as your friend ignores the jape and states to Xavier that she was going to stop whatever's happening. You join in, vowing to help her before walking away, leaving Xavier in the rain.
-----+++++-----
The sun blinds you as you sit on the bleachers for the special unveiling of the Joseph Crackstone statue. You didn't want to be there, but getting to see Wednesday play her cello was intriguing enough to keep you seated. Well, that and the fact that you had helped with a little surprise for everyone.
Mayor Walker drones on and you slouch in your seat. You're nearly asleep when the sudden burst of music startles you awake. Now, you're sitting up and waiting patiently for the fun to happen. Wednesday's eyes dart to you and you give a playful smirk.
The sound of fizzing and sparks reach your ears as your smirk becomes wide. Before you know it, the Crackstone statue bursts into flames. The sight leaves you giddy, but what makes it better was the sound of Wednesday's playing as chaos reigns around you two.
Your eyes don't leave her as you stay in your seat. Even from your vantage point, you see the mirth in your favorite dark eyes. Suddenly, those eyes are on you and a tiny smirk appears on her lips, leaving you breathless.
Snow On The Beach W.A. [Part Two]
Alternative Title: Poe Cup and Pilgrims?
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x Fem Reader slow burn series
Warnings: Swearing, mentions of death, teen angst
Word count: 3.9k
Summary: Wednesday seems to be filling up too much of Y/n's thoughts, and Wednesday does not enjoy the vampire infiltrating her thoughts.
Part One, Part Two, Part Three
Tumblr media
Enid had suggested that Y/n come back to her dorm to hang out like they usually did. Claiming she feels abandoned because she hasn’t been getting the proper attention lately.
Y/n scoffed at Enid’s dramatics and walked with her to dinner.
The two gossiped and giggled as they ate, talking about who they thought was with who. Who was caught sneaking out of who’s dorm, the usual gossip.
After dinner they went up to Enid’s room that she shared with a certain gothic girl. The two listened to music and talked, until Enid got a text that Yoko and Diviana were in the infirmary. Both of the girls having gotten separate illnesses.
Enid started to hysterically sob, and dramatically threw herself on the edge of her bed. Y/n carefully placed herself on the ground next to Enid.
“Hey, Enid it will be okay. I can help, and I bet with persuasion Wednesday will too.” Y/n tried to comfort her.
“Where is Wednesday?” Enid cried.
“I’m not sure…” Y/n trailed off, neither had seen the gothy teen since she left the beekeeping shed. Y/n hoped that Wednesday hadn’t run into the monster that had torn Rowan into shreds.
After a few minutes of Enid’s uncontrollable sobs, Wednesday Addams climbs through their window.
“Where the hell have you been?” Enid shrieks as she jumps up from her kneeling position next to her bed, “I’m literally having a heart attack right now! Yoko and Dividina are in the infirmary.”
“What happened?” Wednesday asks, eyes glancing at the vampire on the ground.
“Garlic bread incident at dinner.” Enid growled, “She had a major reaction, which means she’s out of the Poe Cup. And I don’t have enough members.”
“It wasn’t an accident, Bianca is behind it.” Wednesday states.
“How do you know?” Y/n asks from the floor.
“Doesn’t matter.” Wednesday responds, “We are going to take her down tomorrow.”
“Wait, you’re joining the Black Cats?” Enid’s voice softens, and she steps closer to Wednesday  “You’re willing to do that?”
The girl in all black steps back as soon as Enid steps forwards.
“I want to humiliate Bianca so badly, that the bitter taste of defeat burns in her throat.” Wednesday says with a hint of malicious intent in her voice.
“Yeah, but you’re mostly doing it because we’re friends. Right?” Enid asks, causing Wednesday to quickly turn around and face the window.
“Tell me how she keeps winning.” Wednesday demands.
“It’s a real brain cramp.” Enid responds, “The past two years no other boat had made it across and back without sinking.”
“Sounds like sabotage.” Wednesday comments.
“Oh it is, there’s no rules to the Poe Cup. And it’s in water, that’s like Bianca’s domain.” Y/n says.
Wednesday looks to where Y/n sits, “Then we just need to beat her at her own game.”
The next day the three of them start setting up how to beat Bianca, Wednesday and Y/n walk past the siren on their way to Enid. Y/n gave Bianca a smile with a little wave, while Wednesday glared.
“We’re all set.” Enid tells the two.
“Good, Things in position.” Wednesday says.
“Wanna tell me what you three were up to all night?” Enid asks.
“And spoil the surprise?” Wednesday responds, in what should be a teasing tone.
“Speaking of surprises, your costume is in the tent!” Enid giggles.
Wednesday looks at Enid, horrified, “Costume?”
Y/n and Enid both laugh, knowing Wednesday would have immediately shut everything down before it started if she knew she had to wear the cat suit.
Enid and Y/n get one after another and then do each other's cat makeup.
Y/n can feel the felt tip of Enid’s eyeliner against her cheeks as she draws on the finishing touches.
“All done!” Enid says, booping Y/n’s nose as she does so, causing the two of them to giggle.
“OMG you look purr-fect!” Enid says when Wednesday leaves the tent, “Only thing, where are your whiskers?”
“Ask again and you’ll be down to eight lives.” Wednesday threatens.
Y/n grabs her phone from her bag to take a picture of the three of them. Enid’s bright and happy face, Y/n’s plastered with a smile, and Wednesday with her signature deadpan face. Only if Y/n looked hard enough she could see the faintest smile on the goth girl's face.
The three of them make their way down to the lake where the rest of their team is, they all get into their canoe. Y/n can see Enid look and wave at Ajax.
Apparently Wednesday sees it too, “Focus.”
Y/n can’t help but let out a small laugh at Wednesday’s bossy behavior.
“What do we have here?” Bianca said from her canoe, causing the three to look over, “The runt of the litter.”
“For the record, I don’t believe I’m better than everyone else. Just that I’m better than you.” Wednesday states.
Weems' voice comes over the speakers, “I would like to welcome you all to the Edgar Allen Poe Cup. This is one of Nevermore’s proudest annual traditions, dating back to a hundred twenty-five years. Each team must row across to Raven Island, pull a flag from Crackstones Crypt, and hustle back without sinking or being sunk.”
“The first team to cross the finish line with their flag wins the cup and bragging rights for the year.” Weems explains, “As well as some special privileges. Let the Pope Cup Begin!” She shoots a gun into the air.
They quickly made their way across the river to the island, and everyone got out of the canoe to tie it up.
“Stay here and make sure Bianca can’t sabotage the boat.” Wednesday instructs before her and Y/n take off to find their flag.
The pair quickly make their way to Crackstones Crypt, they run past Xavier and his teammate, both of whom were dressed as jokers.
“Later Wednesday!” Xavier shouted.
If the time had called for it Y/n would have rolled her eyes at Xaviers intense pining.
Crackstones Crypt was a large stone tomb with two statues on either side of it and read “Joseph Crackstone” above the entrance. When Wednesday approached the tomb to grab the flag she braced her body against the wall of the crypt. Her head snapped back and her body fell.
Y/n quickly caught her falling body before she could hit the hard ground under them.
“Wednesday?” Y/n was panicked, she didn’t know what was happening.
Her first assumption was a seizure, only Wednesday’s cold body didn’t shake. So she just sat there for a few moments, keeping two of her fingers on the base of Wednesday’s throat to make sure she was still alive.
Bianca passed the pair, grabbing her team's flag as Wednesday came back to, “Taking a catnap?”
“What the hell happened?” Y/n asked, the two of them jumping to their feet.
“Nothing.” Wednesday replied, holding the flag as they ran.
They quickly made it back to the boat and got in, and began rowing back.
“See ya jokesters!” Enid laughs as they row past their sinking boat, “I just asked myself WWWD, What Would Wednesday Do?”
As they neared Bianca’s canoe Wednesday pushed a lever that opened panels on the side to reveal spikes. Their canoes got closer together before a force under the water began pushing the Black Cat canoe away from the Gold Bugs and towards a red pillar.
The team tried to row against the force pushing them, but it was little to no use. Until Thing dove into the water, Y/n wanted to question the legistics about it but decided that the explanation of “Addams family” was a just enough one.
Their team began to catch back up with the other boat, finally slicing into the bottom of it as they passed by.
“Gotcha.” Y/n said with a smirk, as they passed the final boat and made it to the dock, winning the Poe Cup.
The crowd dressed in mostly black and purple pinstripe cheered as they did so. Enid, Y/n, and Wednesday got out of the boat first with the flag and ran to the finish line. Both Enid and Y/n with wide grins on their faces and Wednesday with a small one.
Y/n and Enid put an arm around each of Wednesday’s shoulders and began jumping up and down with excitement. Y/n moved and hugged Eugene who was also jumping with excitement for his friends/fellow hummers.
“OMG Wednesday we did it,” Enid said, moving to grab and shake Wednesday by the shoulders, “This is the greatest moment of my entire life.”
“Admit it, you kind of got into the school spirit thing.” Y/n said, now jumping around in circles with Eugene.
“You guys didn’t say it’s a dark, vengeful spirit.” Wednesday spoke in a lighter tone than usual, her own excitement evident. The look in her eyes and the smirk she wore turned Y/n’s bones to jelly.
Y/n knew her crush on the Addams girl was a bit over the top and the way her stomach twisted and erupted with butterflies was enough to make her face burn in embarrassment. But the laughter and cheers hide the way her body was lit on fire.
They got changed into their normal uniform, save for Y/n who always altered and hemmed hers to make it shorter and make her feel better about having to wear in her opinion the ‘ugliest uniform known to man’.
They stood in front of the entirety of Nevermore’s student body and staff in the quad, “The Poe Cup first took place in 1897, as a way to not only honor Nevermore’s most famous alumni, but to celebrate those values that all outcasts share.” Weems announced.
Enid and Y/n shared a smile as they stood next to each other, both still buzzing with excitement.
“Community, perseverance, and determination. And we certainly saw those values on display today.” Weems continued as she handed the cup to Enid who squealed with delight.
Enid held up the trophy and let out a triumphant, “Whoo!” as people cheered.
“Congratulations Ophelia Hall!” Weems said.
Y/n was cheering with the team when she caught a glimpse of Wednesday walking off. Y/n assumed that the attention was too much for her. Y/n paused for a minute before deciding to go after her.
Wednesday sat on the ledge that held a statue of Edgar Allen, she was looking up when Y/n entered the secluded area.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“Hiding.” Wednesday responded, getting to her feet, “People keep randomly smiling at me, it’s unsettling.”
Y/n laughed, walking with Wednesday, “It’s called having your shining moment, you beat Bianca Barclay. Nobody’s ever done that, enjoy it.” Y/n pauses, looking at the table of giggling girls,“The other girls wanted to know if you wanted to hang out later?”
Wednesday gave Y/n a look, “Oh come on, get out of your comfort zone. It won’t kill you.”
“I’ll think about it.” The gothy teen replies, taking Y/n by surprise.
Y/n smiled and made her way over to the table as she saw Weems approaching Wednesday. Enid gave the smiling girl a look.
“Don’t even.” Y/n threatened the bubbly blonde, she sighed at her own emotions.
Later that night Y/n lie awake in her dorm that she shared with a fuming Bianca, she must have assumed Y/n were asleep when she left with that purple robe. Y/n knew where she was going and didn’t care enough to join. She simply laid in her bed, facing the wall. Drowning in her own thoughts.
Y/n realized at about 12:32 in the morning that when Wednesday had fallen at Crackstone’s Crypt, it was another vision. Y/n wasn’t sure what Wednesday had been seeing in her visions but she assumed that they weren’t good. Y/n laughed to herself, lately most of her thoughts were taken up by a certain girl who only sometimes wanted anything to do with her.
She wondered when this crush phase would die down, or better yet be over? Deep in the back of her mind she knew it wasn’t a phase and that these feelings would consume her whole, but in the moment she wanted to pretend otherwise. Slowly Y/n drifted off to sleep. `
When Wednesday had entered the Nightshade’s secret library she looked at the pictures on the walls, scoffing at her mothers smirk. One peculiar painting stuck out to her, one of a girl who looked almost identical to Y/n. Wednesday made a mental note to ask Y/n about what she knew about the Nightshades at a later time. The gothy teen’s thoughts strayed to Y/n for a moment longer than she would have appreciated.
Wednesday Addams did not understand the emotions and feelings that Y/n made her feel, and wanted to resent Y/n for it. Only something in her pulled Wednesday in closer and closer. As if threatening to strangle her. Wednesday lets her mind wander to Y/n for a moment too long when her world suddenly erupts into darkness, luckily she was not afraid of the dark.
The next morning Y/n got dressed and left before Bianca had woken up, it was Outreach day meaning they had to do volunteer work. How can it be called volunteer work when it's required? It’s something Y/n had yet to understand, and probably never would.
Y/n stood with Eugene as Weems explained what they would be doing that day, “As you know Outreach day culminates in a very special event, the dedication to a new memorial statue in the town square. Which will also include performances by Nevermore students.
Eugene and others began buzzing with excitement,
Ms Thornhill hands Eugene and Y/n their assignments.
“Whatcha get?” Eugene asks.
“Pilgrim World.” Y/n responds.
“Me too!” The boy exclaimed excitedly.
Eugene, Y/n, and Enid were making their way to Pilgrim World when Wednesday stopped Enid. Her and Y/n’s arms were linked, causing Y/n to stop as well.
“Switch volunteer assignments with me.” Wednesday almost asked, but mostly demanded, sticking out the blue envelope to the blonde.
“What? No.” Enid grimaced, “Uriah’s Heap is definitely not my bag.”
“It’s an emergency, I need to check out Pilgrim World.” Wednesday said, looking past Enid and Y/n for a split second.  “But Wednesday, this is not a fair trade. Why would I agree to spend the entire day at some dumpy emporium of crapola?” Enid asks.
Wednesday sticks out the colorful envelope once more as if this were strategically planned. Y/n wouldn't be surprised if Wednesday had formulated an entire plan to get Enid to switch assignments with her.
“Because Ajax is going to be volunteering there.” Wednesday responds, and Enid’s body language changes, “Thing sneaked a peak at his assignment. But if you’re not interested-” Wednesday turns slightly from the two as she says it.
“No!” Enid grabs the slip from Wednesday’s hand, “Oh my God, thank you. You’re the best.” Enid gently shakes Wednesday's arms, before running off with a giggle.
“What do you need from Pilgrim World?” Y/n inquires once it’s just the two of them.
“According to Xavier,” Y/n rolls her eyes at the mention of the artistic boy, “Crackstone’s journal is in there.”
The two walk in silence the rest of the way to the little ‘village’ that is Pilgrim World.
There was an old man, an actor, yelling to people, “Witch trials everyday!”
“Damn wish someone would hang me.” Y/n murmured to herself, not intending on anyone else hearing, and even if anyone else (Wednesday) did they didn’t say anything.
Y/n immediately spots Eugene as they walk in, “Y/n where did you go? Where’s Enid?”  “Enid and Wednesday switched assignments.” Y/n responded.
“Oh, wanna take a Hummers group photo?” Eugene’s happy tone was impossible for anyone to say no to.
Well almost anyone, only she didn’t have time to say anything before Y/n was agreeing. Eugene took a selfie of the three of them, him smiling happily, Y/n smiling for the picture, and Wednesday looking stoic as always. Y/n was suddenly happy for her choice of eyewear, the oversized sunglasses veiled the way her smile hadn’t truly reached her eyes.
“Good morrow, my young Nevermore kin. I am Misteress Arlene. A real OC.” Another actor, presumably in charge of the Nevermore ‘volunteers’, introduced herself.
Eugene smiled at the attempt at a joke Arlene made, and Y/n realized she would do just about anything for the kid standing next to her. She adored him as if he were her brother, something that she had lost long ago. Way back when she was still human, but there was no time to dwell on emotions from the past. She had required volunteer work to do.
“Now privy, put your cell phones on vibrate and make haste. For you are about to travel back in time to the year of our lord 1625.” The pilgrim lady instructs as she begins her tale and turns around.
“I was still alive back then.” Y/n whispers to Eugene, who looks at her bewildered.
“Really?” Eugene asks, believing every word she says.
“No.” Y/n responds with a smile, before walking with the group.
Arlene the pilgrim lady shows off the ‘settlement’ and explains bits of it as she does so. Y/n checks out, not caring what she had to say, or anything around her. She hadn’t even noticed Wednesday move up to right behind her shoulder, something on a normal day she would have noticed without question. Maybe she could blame the gloomy weather for the way she had been feeling, or maybe it had been her own mind. Either way, she was feeling down and couldn't help but give into the feelings.
Suddenly she checks back into reality when Wednesday moves from her shoulder to in front of her.
“I haveth a query.” Wednesday spoke, going along with the 1600’s act the park had going for it.
“Pray be quick child.” The ginger woman responded.
In the meeting house, which of Joseph Crackstone’s artifacts are on display?” Wednesday asked, and Y/n wondered where her sudden curiosity of Crackstone had stemmed from.
She assumed it had something to do with the vision she had at Crackstone’s Crypt, or maybe it had to do with Rowan’s death and sudden ‘revival'?
“It truly is a treasure trove, including original farm tools, tableware, even the Crackstone chamber pot.” Arlene explained.
“Sounds faciating, I volunteer to work in there.” Wednesday said.
“Pray, no. That exhibit is being renovated.” The pilgrim lady took her role as a pilgrim a little too seriously, and Y/n wondered if she ever caught herself speaking like this in front of normal people. “Today thou will all be working at the beating heart of Pilgrim World.”
“Ye olde fudgery?” Eugene sounded excited.
Next to him Wednesday had a homicidal look on her face, “More like ye olde diabetes in a box.”
“Volunteers, prick up thine ears.” The lady rhymed, “Fudge is the lifeblood of our humble community. And samples equal sales, so grab a uniform and a box and make our forefathers proud.”
Wednesday picked up a part of the uniform, “Is this for muzzling tourists?”
Y/n glanced over to where Eugene ate yet another piece of the fudge, cringing at the idea of consuming that much chocolate. Y/n turned for a moment before looking back to see a boy grab Eugene, but before she could do anything she watched as he threw up on the boys. She had to turn around at the sight of the vomit. Y/n however did make her way to the boys, in an inhumanly fast manner, once they tried to put Eugene in the stocks.
Y/n put her hand on the top part of the stocks, to prevent it from closing on Eugene, “Let him go.”
“You wanna end up in the stocks too?” One of the boys taunted.
“Do you really want to get your ass handed to you,” Y/n feigned a sweet voice, “by a girl?”
The boy grabbed Eugene and shoved him from the stocks and tried to grab Y/n, who was easily able to dodge his hand, instead moving to trip him. He growled as he got up and tried to hit her once more, but she grabbed his hand, twisting it to a painful angle and shoved him into the wooden frame.
“What are you two standing here for?” Y/n asked, turning to the other boys.
“I can’t get into more trouble with my dad.” The taller of the two spoke, before they both walked off.
“Wait, Lucas!” The imprisoned boy called out.
Y/n gave Eugene an almost pitiful look, only he couldn’t see it through her glasses, “Let's get you cleaned up.”
Y/n was reminded of when she was alive and she took care of her younger brother. Back when both of them were alive, but now neither would know the way their skin would wrinkle. Neither knew the feeling of growing up and getting old, only Y/n got to continue her life in this realm while her brother did not.
Eugene sat on a hay bail while Y/n kneeled in front of him to wipe his face, gently holding it as she did so. Letting her mind wander back all those years ago when she had done this to her dear younger brother William. The way he would squirm away from her grasp, and the two would laugh.
“You okay there, Y/n?” Eugene asked, concern for the girl lacing his voice.
“Yeah, uh my eyes just got really dry.” Y/n replied, using the back of her hand to wipe her face, consequently smearing the makeup she had put on earlier that morning.
Wednesday appeared out of seemingly thin air behind Y/n, “What happened?”
Y/n jumped and clutched at her chest, as if her heart could stop once more from the fright, “Jesus! How the hell do you manage to sneak up on me?”
Eugene explained the way Y/n ‘saved his ass’, “I don’t really have anyone other than Y/n, if you can believe it.”
“You said it yourself, Hummers stick together.” Wednesday says, a warm tone of what Y/n could only describe as fondness.
“You're Like my brother Eugene.” Y/n never opened up about her time alive, so her saying this surprised both parties, “Back before…everything he was the kindest little boy. I think that if he would’ve made it into adolescence he would have been a lot like you Eugene, and I have a feeling I would have had to pick some fights for him.”
Wednesday didn’t know just how alike her and the girl were.
Happy Wednesday. <3 Thanks for the early tag @honeybee-taskforce. Here's some of the next chapter of First Aid.
Carlos doesn’t join him by the edge of the pool. “I’ll be right back.”
TK nods, and when he hears the door slide open and shut, he slumps forward a little. His hand scoops up some of the chlorinated pool water that he brings up to his burning neck. He’s both too hot and too cold, all sensations amped up to a peak. His stained ankle develops a heartbeat on its own, pounding painfully over the bottom of the pool.
He barely registers Carlos’ return until he feels water lap up his knees, and the soft sound of someone sitting down beside him.
“I hope it’s okay that I took these, it’s all I could find without asking Enzo,” Carlos says and TK opens his eyes to see his mother’s white bask summer hat draw closer before it’s gently placed on his head. The sunglasses put in his lap next he knows are Enzos. They have a slight sight adjustment, making the world appear out of focus, but no longer as bright.
TK draws the hat on properly, the soft brim of it flopping down. It’s not quite enough to alleviate any of the hangover, but it soothes something within him nonetheless.
“How do you feel?” Carlos asks gently.
TK’s shrugs, blinking up at the plush tinted carpet of clouds not quite hiding the sun. “Could be better. Or worse. It’s fine.” Carlos hums and it contains something pained, threatening to pull him under the water surface so TK presses his swollen ankle closer the the edge of the pool, hiding it below his knee.
He turns to Carlos, tilting his chin. “How do I look?”
Through the blur of his glasses, Carlos’ eyes appear even softer. “Like a fashionable beekeeper?”
All his cells are depleted of joy, but TK snorts anyway.
“What?” Carlos asks, one corner of his mouth betraying his own amusement. “I thought you loved bees?”
“Shut up.”
