Struggling really bad with migraines. I can’t be here a lot because it’s awful to look at the screen. I’m struggling to walk straight lines because of the dizziness and I can’t sleep because of the pain. The thing about being constantly sick is that… it’s so boring. You can’t really do anything because of the pain, but you also wish you were doing literally anything else instead of being miserable in bed. Most of all, I wish for low pain days and less fatigue. Oh, and I also want so bad to be by the beach.
Queue is on as usual, and it’s safe to say I won’t be around as much as long as this crisis continues.
I hope everyone is doing okay. I wish you all low pain days, less fatigue, and a long seaside vacation.
Lots of love,
Liv

ppl are too quick to point to laios' disability as the reason his friends think he's a freak sometimes. so many instances of laios getting yelled at are, in my eyes, a case of "this guy had to emotionally mature very early in order to be there for his little sister" combined with "much older friends who never had to learn to manage their own emotions to the same degree"
a lot of the time he's right about needing to be more direct/deal with things in a way that may seem scary/needing to put your gut reaction aside. he tries not to make his friends uncomfortable and he puts up with a lot because he's trying to keep the peace, but he also pushes the others out of their comfort zones purposefully to try to get them to think more constructively. everyone else in the party is prone to acting on their gut instincts and avoiding uncomfortable situations even when facing them head-on is very much necessary. part of what makes laios such a great leader is the fact that he knows from experience how to put his own feelings aside to help someone else grow.
yes, he does make a lot of social blunders by accident and he does struggle to connect with others, but not all of his positive influence on others is accidental or "despite" making people uncomfortable. a lot of the time, I think it's clear he knows exactly what he's doing and he's trying to help the people around him process emotions in a healthy way as they all go through some truly harrowing shit. all the main characters support each other as well as they can with their unique emotional skillsets. laios' skillset just happens to be "gently talk child into eating her vegetables"

For DBD, I saw a post on how mirror hopping would take a lot of trial and error to learn which might make for a fun short story, especially if they get stuck somewhere by accident
Thank you so much for the prompt ♥
This was really fun to write, I like thinking about how they might have been at the beginning of their friendship!
“Charles”, Edwin says, and while Charles isn’t looking at him, he still knows that Edwin is rolling his eyes. He can hear it in his tone, even if all Edwin said was his name, but it’s right there, spelt out in between the intake of breath before and the drawl of the vowel: Edwin is rolling his eyes.
They haven’t known each other that long, only a few months, so maybe Charles shouldn’t be able to read his new friend’s tone this well, but it was just never difficult to read Edwin to begin with. Something about them just clicked, even if Charles was dying and Edwin fresh out of hell, like their souls had touched and found that the other was what they lacked.
Okay, maybe he is getting a bit ahead of himself now.
“Are you even listening to me?”, Edwin asks, and actually, Charles isn’t, but he nods anyway, and finally looks up at Edwin. Who is standing very, very close.
“You were scolding me”, Charles answers, because on one hand, that seems to be a pretty good guess most times, and on the other, well. He kind of deserves it.
Edwin makes a sound, a tiny little thing that is both exasperated and fond, and Charles gives him a smile, because that usually helps with making Edwin less annoyed.
And it works this time, too, because a moment later, Edwin smiles back, his pretty eyes softening.
Pretty? … well, yes. But maybe a thought for later.
“I know that mirror travel is quite difficult to navigate”, Edwin tells him, definitely more fond than exasperated now, “but when you said that you would take the lead this time, and I asked you if you were certain and you said yes, well. I expected you to actually bring us where we were supposed to be going.”
“And not into a pretty cramped supply closet, you mean?”, Charles asks, trying for humour because that, too, is a good way of making Edwin smile, and making Edwin smile has become kind of a priority for Charles lately.
“Precisely”, Edwin answers, and there is a smile in his voice, a smile on his lips.
It feels like a victory.
“At least we know how to get out again”, Charles says and gestures to the small mirror behind Edwin. “I’ll even let you take the lead this time.”
Edwin tuts, turns around as gracefully and theatrically as possible when stuck between cardboard boxes and discarded furniture, and says, “As if I ever needed permission.”
Before he disappears through the mirror, leaving Charles behind.
Who, for a moment, just looks after him, this brilliant, headstrong, impossibly fascinating boy, who somehow managed to read him to a peaceful death and has kept him company ever since.
And thinks, I really couldn’t have made a better choice.

An interesting little fun thing with team 7 is that you assume that Sakura's gonna, like, woobify and simplify Sasuke by putting him on a pedastal, cause her goal is centered around him and shes a 12 y/o fangirl so like of course her understanding of him is skewed cause she doesnt see him as a person, just an object of affection, right? She's can't get Sasuke, can't imprint on and/or traumabond with him like Naruto and Kakashi do. They don't see him with rose tinted glasses, because they've lived through their own Horrors and empathize with Sasuke's experience.
......right?
WRONG lmao!! They have too many ghosts!! Naruto's single-minded codependent ass won't get out of his own way long enough to see Sasuke for who he actually is, only able to empathize with the parts of his trauma Naruto relates to and not really capable of understanding him outside of the context of himself (because Sasuke is. His other half). And Kakashi is far too jaded to be fair to him!! He can't decide if Sasuke is gonna end up as a mini-him or a mini-Obito or maybe a mini-Itachi, but either way he ALSO is too traumatized to see Sasuke AS SASUKE.
meanehile SAKURA'S autistic ass may have dogshit empathy, but you know what she does have? A special interest in sasuke. Nothing better to do then give herself a degree in Uchihaisms. She can write character studies about him. she can read his soul. Whenever she says something about him she is right. Every fucking time! She is RIGHT!!!!
'sasuke would NOT compliment me this directly or explicitly express worry unprompted, especially if it gets in the way of his goals' correct.
'Sasuke shouldn't hide that curse on his neck its not healthy BUT if I tell anyone about it he'll never trust me again, which might be even more dangerous for him then the curse mark. Like he can probably handle the curse mark but no one else can stop him from ripping peoples arms off.' correct.
Speaking of! 'Sasuke would not hurt me even when he seems to be...possessed? whatever the only way to knock him out of it is to present myself as Alive and thus something to be protected rather then something to be avenged, because he gets really stuck in his own head about revenge' CORRECT
'hey so um. like. Sasuke's gonna leave Konoha. I'm not sure anything can stop him at this point and honestly I'm kinda starting to doubt anything should, so the only thing I could possibly do to help him at this point is ALSO defect.' CORRECT!!!!

Does leopard still have 3 lives in her final battle? Or was that changed?
Yep. I think she drowned her once, then Leopardstar lunges up refreshed, and she gets the upper paw on Mistyfoot with 2 lives to go.
(MAYBE tw gore, but I really did try to be tasteful about a head being smashed on a rock.)
On her back, splashing and thrashing furiously against Leopardstar's claws dunking her head under, Mistyfoot glimpses a wave breaking just over the tip of a stone-blue rock. Her only chance.
With a surge of power, her claws sink into her leader's golden shoulder and they tumble and roll to the right. Before the tyrant even realizes what's happening, she's yanked up, and then whipped backwards with a wet CRUNCH
And then again
And again
And again, until Mistyfoot can't even make out what's left of her leader anymore. All she can see is that it's a red, brown, and yellow blur, because her eyes burning with salty tears and her whole body is trembling.
She drops the corpse onto the stone and it slides into the water, lifelessly. After a moment it spasms aimlessly one last time, like an insect does after its head is bitten off, unlike the deliberate, agonized throes of Tigerstar suffering through his doomed lives. And then it's still.
There's only the tranquil sound of bubbling water, and Mistyfoot's frenzied panting. Her pounding heart makes it hard to hear either.
The blood is carried off by the shallow water in scarlet swirls, but the lake runs pale red as if it's washing it away. Some were aware of this prophecy, but Mistyfoot was not.
It isn't closure to her, or a fulfillment of divine decree. It's just blood that should be on her paws, slicked away by the complicit river. She wished it could feel like it's over, but she's smart enough to know the truth. Has been through enough terrible events like this to understand what comes next.
Her body will move foward. Her mind will need to consider her deputy. Her paw will come down on code-defying cats like Blackclaw and Greenflower. But her heart will stay here, next to the remains of Leopardstar, the same way another piece of it remains at Stonefur's side across space and time.

every agni kai we see zuko fight involves his opponent acting dishonorably/cheating:
ozai burns zuko after he surrenders, when banishing him would’ve sufficed.
zhao tries to strike zuko when his back is turned, as he’s walking away from his victory
azula aims at katara.
of course ozai and zhao are violent, spiteful, petty, and cruel. it is the final instance that especially stands out to me because azula, of all people, resorting to cheating is such a profound testament to all she has lost by this point. she doesn’t even care that this act must immediately disqualify her from winning the fight, from winning the throne. all she cares about now is making zuko hurt; she‘s been reduced to the desire for him to know her pain.

Thinking about the symbolic weight of smoking in the TLT universe that comes to the fore in The Unwanted Guest -- the way it moves through from person to person: Pyrrha smoked, and Augustine wanted to impress her in all her stone cold fox MILF James Bond glory (and tbf who wouldn't) so he started too. and even though as far as he knows she's been gone for a myriad and is never coming back, he keeps the habit. Ianthe sees something in the hollowed-out Faberge eggshell of Augustine that resonates with her, all that gilded eloquent emptiness and disdain through the ages, so she picked it up from him to try to emulate it. She picked it up so hard that Palamedes -- the exact spiritual antithesis of the 'smoking! on a space station! what a powermove' ennui Ianthe so admired -- spontaneously unnerded enough to even known how to, simply from a sort of contact contamination of the soul.
G1deon and Augustine sharing a jittery smoke after their near-Harrow experience during soup night, and it's the closest thing to any real sense of brotherhood that remains between them. Pyrrha going ten thousand years dying both literally and for a smoke (and then Camilla sold her fucking cigarettes (for a third of what they were worth, probably Pyrrha's own good, and also more importantly grocery money). what an entirely haunted time to be alive etc.). Augustine and Mercy trading a cigarette back and forth in the middle of their collusion over the love and murder of god.
An act of small and measured self-destruction in the name of something a little bit like connection when you're stuck somewhere in yourself where love itself dares not or cannot tread (ritualized, transmissible)..........
