For how much (rightful) criticism Dawn Of The Clans gets I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention the inaccurate characterizations that happen from The First Battle to The Blazing Star.
The First Battle ends with relegations of how bad Clear Sky is, how mislead he was, how much hes hurt everyone around him and then all the characters become aware of why he was acting the way he was and Thunder opens his heart to Clear Sky. He’s like ‘oh that’s why my dads like that. He’ll have to work hard to right the wrongs he’s done but I believe he can do it. It’ll take me a while to forgive him though’. But then The Blazing Star begins with them forgetting how they all were feeling about Clear Sky and creating conflict because they go back to being unsympathetic and that he’ll never change again.
I read these books back to back so it might be more noticeable just because there wasn’t a year between me reading the two (also I swear you can tell when a new Erin begins writing in the series), but my point still stands.
I think people hate Clear Sky because the books themselves didn’t properly justify his redemption. They needed conflict, they had understanding and acceptance of him too early and then they back tracked to prolong it. It’s like whiplash the way Thunder goes from hating his father to understanding him and having hope for him back to hating if him and then liking him at the end of the series.
That’s one thing that sucks about this Warrior Cat series (and i wouldn’t be surprised about the others once I get to them), the Erins don’t always create coherent stories and characters. And maybe it’s just this book but all the characters are very static as well and when they try to have dynamic characters it just seems forced for plot. Which really sucks because this is a great concept for a series and it wasn’t all terrible.
#i don’t care if it’s a kids series#it would be nice if it felt like it was written to tell a story rather than fulfill a series#also they forget that jagged peak and pebble heart exist as entities?#pebble heart can see the fucking future why does he stop having dialogue about that after Turtle Tail dies?#like HE CAN READ THE FUTURE THROUGH DREAMS#HOW ARE YOU NOT WORSHIPPING HIM AND PUTTING HIM ON A PEDASTAL FOR THAT#they just got way too into making One Eye and then Slash the big bass rather than fleshing out characters and plot points they started#so I’m hoping that The Prophecies begin will be better written#because it’s the OG series that blew up#anyway#warriors#warriors dotc#dawn of the clans#warrior cats#dotc#clear sky#thunder#cat rambling

Opinions on the change of relationship/ships/and “family” dynamics from pilot to official:
So… I’m not an OG Hazbin fan. As in, I’ve only watched the pilot and the official series in two sittings last year. So I was never around for the hype, the past headcanons, and the debates over the change of the characters and their dynamics with each other.
But, I wanted to share my honest opinions and views that I had of the relationship changes within that one year.
Huskerdust:
I promise that this isn’t a bias, AND I wholly respect everyone who sees their relationship as anything but romantic. But, I can’t get into the idea of Husk being a father figure or in a mentor/mentee relationship with Angel. The only reason I can come up with why that idea came to life, is because Husk was the oldest out if everyone at the hotel (at least until they changed how aging worked with Charlie and Vaggie).
Husk is wise, but not THAT wise. Sure, I see him having fatherly traits towards someone, especially someone broken. But it’s like a Dick Grayson to Rachel Roth thing (minus the uncontrollable demon magic shit). And Angel doesn’t fit the role of “Rachel”.
In the pilot, Angel’s eyes sparkled and hit on Husk as soon as he was brought to the hotel. Even blew him a kiss at the end of the episode, and though it wasn’t animated, Husk blushed in a the storyboard of it. So they found each other attractive. Maybe not in a romantic sense (yet). But there was some interest and flustering, that was exchanged in the background. So… a little off to me if they made Husk a father figure to Angel of all people, regardless of Huskerdust shippers.
Charlie-Vaggie-Angel:
Charlie and Vaggie on the other hand—gave me mom vibes, when addressing Angel’s recklessness. Charlie seemed like the timid mom and Vaggie was the mom who’s scolding fell on deaf ears, when scolding their bratty teenager.
Both pilot and the (not sure if it’s still official) comic of Angel meeting them, gave me the impression that they had a more family dynamic.
Which is why, Charlie and Angel’s relationship becoming more brother and sister was a—maybe not big but—mild jump for me. And Vaggie was….. just there. She criticizes Angel’s actions from time to time, but she lost the nagging mom vibe I saw in the pilot.
Don’t get me wrong, I still like it. Because it includes headcanons of Angel seeing Molly through Charlie. Plus, depending on who’s on their lowest the brother-sister dynamic could change. At times Charlie looks like the older sister, being overbearing but learning to back off and let Angel fight his own battles. But other times, Angel can seem like the older one when Charlie is emotionally at her lowest.
But, I kinda do miss the gay moms and bitchy son dynamic they had. It felt like a lost potential.
The Vees:
Speaking of gay parents and their brat. I’ve heard the Vees were supposed to be just that. But, throuples/polycules aren’t represented enough in the media and the Vox’s two different relationships between Velvette and Valentino, and the fact that Velvette barely interacted with Val, gave me a different impression.
It felt more like a “business relationship” on one side and an “intimate relationship” on the other; Velvette and Valentino being tied with Vox with different motives and agreements. And so throughout every clip the Vees were in, Velvette never registered as Vox and Val’s “daughter” in my mind.
Vox and Valentino (excluding Velvette):
I’ve heard Val was supposed to be the one “in charge” in their relationship. As in, Vox is an abuse victim.
I’m glad they changed it to make it more like Val is a man-child with a short temper, while Vox is seemingly more dominant between them. Solely because of their “sinner forms” and what form of “power” they visually represent.
Aside from being a moth, Val is a typical pimp. His power (basing it off on his saliva) looks more focused on lust. Vox is obviously media-based.
And normally, when I see a techy-looking character, or someone who can control electronics like an evil AI, I immediately assume they’re all sorts of powerful, considering “the internet is a dangerous place”. For me it makes more sense that 1) Vox is the head of Vees and 2) he has a fair hold on Val’s behavior and is in charge of him acting out.
.
.
.
.
.
That’s pretty much all the relationships changes, I can list off right now. Let me know if I forgot the dynamics of characters that were debated oncec and I’ll share an opinion if I can.

Okay the Halloween chapter had me foaming at the mouth. Another masterpiece. You never miss! I love when third parties like Anne get introduced in the mix just to create tension between J and V. Like girl was flirting so bad but all Jughead seemed to notice or care about was Veronica eek I love it. Please gimme more party scenes I beg. I actually live for Veronica quite literally bringing him to his knees like atta girl you go ahead and get what you want 😭
Also what jeronica/colemila fics from @thefudge do you recommend?? I'm invested now
ah, so glad you liked it! the party atmosphere was def a departure so v happy it worked for you. and yeah lol Jughead's two main modes are being a little bitch or being Veronica's bitch and that's just where we've landed these days.
as for jeronica/colemila fics by @thefudge, WHERE TO BEGIN!
first of all, I am utterly obsessed with her cursed colemila series in all of its unflinching oozy toxic glory. Cole is human sleaze in this and Cami makes horrible decisions and the two of them just keep metastasizing in each other and it's honestly romantic in how unromantic it is
kiss and (don't) tell - the classic, the OG, the primordial fix-it/what if fic when Betty and Archie kissed and everyone was obsessed with the idea of Jughead and Veronica leveling the playing field with a kiss of their own (and then...)
bakunin and broccoli - the fact of the matter is I would die for Seymour Lodge-Jones and he'd definitely let me. this my actual canon of them as elitist parents who are sickeningly in love and dote on their sociopath son when they're not too busy annoying him with how horny they are
teen idle - a darker take on high school writer Jughead with big stalker vibes but I live for the tension of him swearing he studies her because he hates her but also obsessing over her in this very carnal way
barrels - another post-Barchie fix-it/what if fic where Jughead and Veronica go on an impulsive road trip after the cheating reveal and it's really sweet and poignant and more than the writers would ever give them in canon
honestly, I could keep going and end up recommending all of them because flo is genuinely such an inventive, fearless, and exquisite writer and I feel like I learn something about writing every time I read anything of hers, but I'll lock those down as my faves. she's prolific beyond belief though and has so many other fics, so if what you're after is her more cursed stuff, I'd say look beyond the riverdale scope to her more recent works (in particular her Paul/Irulan fic which deservedly blew up the Dune fandom and her most recent Taylor Swift RPF which made me go 'jesus CHRIST' out loud at least five times. she's also got Amelia/Andrew RPF which I've yet to read but is on my list because I'm sure it's wretched and spits in the face of all that calculated chemistry).

This bitch on tiktok was arguing with me about creepypasta (dont ask. idk why it's on my fyp either, I left that fandom when I was 16).
It was about people mixing CRPs and Marble Hornets and changing Brian and Tim into Slenderman's (The Operator's) proxies rather than his enemies as they are in Marble Hornets.
He was tryna tell me that if you mix them together and change it like that, you are "media illiterate" and are "uneducated in fandom culture." Let's get one thing straight - Marble Hornets did not create The Operator. The Operator is literally just Slenderman renamed. Sorry, not sorry to break it to anyone who didn't know; you've had over a decade to watch it. Slenderman was one of the OG creepypastas that blew up. It's not even a different version of him in the series. It's just exactly him with a different name.
So (and correct me if I'm wrong) (I'm not), that makes Tim (Masky) and Brian (Hoodie) a creepypasta's enemies.
WHICH MEANS THEY ARE TECHNICALLY CREEPYPASTA OCS AND THEREFORE YOU CAN HAVE A SILLY LIL HEADCANON THAT THEY ARE HIS PROXIES.
It's technically not even mixing fandoms, bc, again, Slenderman is a CRP, and Marble Hornets uses Slenderman as the main villain, meaning Marble Hornets is basically a CRP web series.
Now...
I grew up watching Marble Hornets while simultaneously loving creepypasta stories. But even though I knew they were different veins of a similar subject, I still enjoyed the silly little stories people made with them mixed like that.
Do I mix them now that I'm an adult? No. But I'm not going to lie and say I never did. And I'm also not going to shit on people who still enjoy that dynamic.
It's not "mischaracterization" and it's not "media illiteracy". It's quite simply just having fun with different medias.
Mixing fandoms is, like, a large aspect of the fandom world.
An example based on the first fandom I started writing for: MHA. A pretty popular au for it is Spiderman despite them being vastly different medias.
It's just a small, fun thing that people do.
I know I'm rambling, and that this is out of left field. I just don't get why this man at his big age of 34 had to get so up in a tizzy about two fandoms (that I would argue are technically one fandom) being mixed together by a bunch of 10 year olds to the point of cursing people out and writing whole ass thesis papers in the comments on why he disagrees and that he's right and you're wrong because "how dare you have fun with the content you consume😡😤".
But that's just me.

no speak on how everyone uwuified jean and now they’re shocked about him because if i may spill a little im not surprised ab that happening around here at all considering we spent three books literally in neil’s head and fanon still managed to uwuify him so bad people forgot what he was like for like a decade until tsc. this fandom has by far one of the worst cases of forgetting the core of a character in favour of making them a sweet angel baby and it genuinely alarms me sometimes like i thought we were here for morally grey assholes trying to be better people
I’m not surprised that the uwuifcation happened I’m more surprised that they were so surprised he was the complete opposite of what they were making him. Like I genuinely thought they were just exaggerating characters’ traits to fit into certain roles. I didn’t think ppl actually thought canon was telling them Jean was a damsel in distress who needed to be protected by big bad unshakable Jeremy bc he wouldn’t raise a hand himself.
(he does have his fears , like every character, and he does have his traumas and hang ups, and he does need help in certain areas, but sometimes—a lot of the time— he was being painted like he literally couldn’t function on his own)
Dude was about to blow all of book 1. I never thought we were going any other way than the way we went (tho I was a little surprised by how many times he blew in this book but I am NOT complaining. I am naming my firstborn after this book) so it like genuinely threw me that ppl didn’t expect this lmao
Also yeah the Neil thing is what threw me from Andreil fics after the og series. They did the same thing w them that happened with jerejean. Andrew got pushed into the role of big bad savior and Neil got pushed into I can’t do anything. But also I don’t read for andreil so maybe things have changed.

House Of Anubis: How the OG DutchBelgium show was butchered by its English Adaptation Part 3: Appie & Jeroen
Because part 1 and 2 were well received and I recently got questions for future parts, I hereby decided to finally make part 3! This one will tackle Jeroen and Appie, known as Jerome and Alfie in the English adaptation.
First of all, let's start with the second lovable himbo of the cast and one of the primary comedic relief characters, Appie. His character is one of the most obvious cases of the English adaptation neglecting storylines from the OG as well as one you could see how different they were going to be from their OG couterpart from the get-go.
For one, because the first OG actor for Appie quit playing in Het Huis Anubis as he wanted to pursue acting school and work on his craft, they had this plotline of him changing race due to it. I knew the storyline was clearly going to be dropped when I first laid eyes on his English counterpart, but aside from that I want to point out that any main character like Nina could have stayed on the show by making her change actress. This plotline's removal is where my stance on all the changes to Fabian especially as I discussed in part 1 stemming from homophobia towards Fabian's OG actor comes from, because a plotline to keep his love interest and have her remain as the leader is right here. No, Nickelodeon wanted a male heroic lead and I can see right through the bullshit.
In regards to his OG actors, Appie's first actor was Moroccan and his second was black like Alfie and there is of course the third actor from the final movie which served as an epilogue to the series really. Where Appie got cursed and flickered between being his black self and being white, as someone who changed race twice was an ideal sacrifice to this cult so they were trying to raceswap Appie again so he could be their sacrifice. This is also the movie where Appie gets together with Amber at long last. Their relationship is so different in the OG, like it goes from a slow-burn to becoming endgame at the very last adventure and giving all the shippers their moment to rejoice.
Also, small fun fact but the first actor, Achmed Akkabi, became one of those rare teen actors who blew up in a kid's show that actually retained a succesful career as an actor. He's arguably amongst the biggest Dutch millenial actors there is as he's one of the few I can actually name that I recall seeing in recent promoted projects such as Mocro Maffia (note to foreigners: Mocro is Dutch slang, originally stems from them copying the Dutch version of the 'N' word to mean a Moroccan gangster instead as they kind of fill that role in gang as well as rapper culture over here that black people seem to do in the US).
He has never been in a love triangle with Jeroen either. Speaking off the drama the English remake invented in the OG, Jerome being a cheater is too OOC to function. Jeroen literally was a faithful boy in the OG. First, there was Mara but she left after S1. Then in her place, another girl was quickly introduced, Noa who was secretly an Egyptian princess hunted down by a cult. Jeroen loved that girl. He was ready to betray friends and foe, double cross people in what realistically should be an internationally active cult, all just to protect her. The way he fought for Noa and would do anything to keep her safe, that Jeroen being a cheater?! Get out of here! Jeroen was a bad boy, but he was faithful as fuck. Jeroen and Noa were literally the 'bad boy & good girl' trope taken to the next level, and I love the ship (though I have nothing against Maya and her ship with Jeroen. Liliana De Vries is a gorgeous woman, like the OG cast consisted out of so many attractive people I was just a mess as a kid over this show okay).
Jeroen was an icon of an iconic IP, with his catch phrases and overall snarky attitude he was deeply beloved. To this day I low-key wonder if I roast people for being incompetent so often was influenced by Jeroen calling everyone failures all the time. Like the OG was that big to definitely influence the kids swept up in the Sibuna craze and when rewatching the OG all I can say is whenever I watch this guy, 'Alright, I can understand where that trait of mine might stem from'.
Also, shout out to Sven and Achmed's chemistry. They were low-key shippable, which combined with Appie crossdressing once or twice as a joke, makes me feel like Nickelodeon invented the Willow stuff too because Appie and Jeroen were a surprisingly popular ship.
This is a video compilation of Jeroen just calling people failure

Jeroen being the angst of the show:

Jeroen and Appie being shippable:

An Amber x Appie shipping video that actually contains one of Appie's crossdressing scenes (I totally forgot about him dressing up as a ballerina until I saw this video):
youtube
A Noa X Jeroen shipping video that uses a song from the OG, Ware Liefde (in English, True Love) of which the male voice actually is Jeroen's! It's one of my favorite's of the Anubis soundtrack.
youtube
Reminder to please, watch the dubbed version of the OG! You won't regret it!

2024 fic writer end of year round up!
I was in theory tagged by both @siobhanbooks and @softodettes so let's go.
(if you see this and want to participate ... this is your tag)
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
... a whole lot. 179,849.
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
Officially it's 9, although ttios is like 98% done (despite being only about a quarter published).
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
Two. the truth in our scars and agony brings no reward ... the first which will finish up in ... March, I believe? And the second which is essentially finished but am leaving open-ended just in case inspiration strikes for more.
4. What was your favourite thing you wrote?
Oh, this is a good question. Knee jerk reaction is to say victory is all you need because it is my BABY and the first long-form piece I've ever finished, but in terms of a piece that I still reread often, it might have to be The Backup Plan.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
... I actually enjoy playing around with different styles, but I have to mention three in particular:
The Backup Backup Plan because it is solely dialogue
karma is a cat (purring in my lap 'cause it loves me) because it has NO dialogue
unrequited which is probably the truest answer to this because it is angsty and I do not consider myself a Writer of Angst.
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
The Backup Plan blew up more than I ever expected it to. And learning that I wrote a fictional proposal that people are hoping their real life significant others live up to? I'm still not sure how I feel about that ...
I'm also a touch surprised to the reception to the truth in our scars even though I shouldn't be - I've noticed that people in the Empyrean fandom tend to prefer in-canon works as opposed to (more modern) AUs, but it's still a little jarring experiencing it.
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
... I don't know if it's one that I *love* per se, but I really feel like In the Cordyn Aerie is extremely underrated ... probably because it deals with a very underrepresented/underexplained aspect of the series (the gryphons).
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
@essjaywrites and her cat!Xaden drawing prompted me to finally finish karma is a cat.
In general, I adore @jmoonjones's sassy Andarna.
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
So many, but I still have to do my OG shoutouts to @skyfallscotland and @justallihere for inspiring me to start writing in the first place. And Amy's The State of Rider-Flier Relations is how ttios even came about because I couldn't get the idea of scar mates out of my damn head.
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
... I don't even know. Most of the fandom, probably. So many other wonderful Empyrean authors have been mentioned, but I'm going to tag a couple of the more underrated ones in @lizardsrunfast, @lovemedarkly29, and @thoughtsaboutshows.
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
I did not. I ... don't know if I could let myself collab due to my own particular writing neuroses, tbh ...
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
That I even started writing and posting to begin with. That I not only was able to write a whole bunch of fun little drabbles, but that I wrote not one, but TWO full-length fics (because ttios is like 99% done). That I put myself out there.
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
That shitty first drafts are actually helpful. That there's no one way to write. That it's really good to stick to your instincts, and it's okay to sit on something for a few days. That cooking is surprisingly great for coming up with ideas.
14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?
... first and foremost, write for you. It's something that I still need to yell at myself for. Kudos and comments are wonderful (and I live for them), but ultimately, they don't define worth.
To just start writing. That it doesn't have to be anything good - just write. That there's no one way to write. That we all have our own wonderful writing voices and you just have to find yours. Also, that you don't have to just stick to one voice. I have so much fun playing in different styles. It's also a great way to grow.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
... somehow manage to adapt IF for the second soul-scarred work. It's currently a terrifying proposition (even though I do have a few scribbled thoughts). Get way out of my comfort zone by working on the These Cursed Ships project. Finally wring out the song parody idea I have out of my brain.
If we're not talking writing ... paint something. Seriously get back into drawing. Finish a few of my never-ending sewing projects.

I decided to main stick to monsters and aliens from the OG 1966 series to start this mini project, then I added a few characters from Ultraseven...Mainly because I really wanted to draw this goober.
Now for an extraterrestrial monster representation, we have Eleking. For a motive, maybe he wants to avenge his owners (traditionally the Pitts) after Stellar blew up their spaceship (again, maybe during his jerk era? Although to be fair, most of the time Ultraman aliens really don’t do themselves any favors in the sympathy department. Watching Eleking’s debut episode, I got the feeling that the Pitts did not give very much of a shit about their pet monster. At all.). Not counting Junior, he’s physically and mentally the youngest of the Five.
I’ve actually got an idea on how I’d redesign this fella. I wanna play up the fact that he’s supposed to be some kind of salamander/eel thing. He “stands” on a thick and elongated tail, and maybe uses electromagnetism to float and “swim through the air (fish Pokémon be like). Kinda like that weird design they used in Ultraman Fighting Revoloution: Rebirth I think? His body markings are gonna be symmetrical here, to make him easier to draw. His antennas act as eyes for the purpose of conveying emotion, but I’ll mention that they probably aren’t used for sight.
Being an alien, Eleking doesn’t really have a pre-established place in the world, so just kinda hangs out on Taretare island, mostly in the lakes and rivers. STAR couldn’t figure out a safe way to contain him and he ended up escaping their facility after capture.
He hasn’t changed that much between past an present, but the “recap scene” could have a flashback showing the canon “baby” Eleking designs we’ve seen a few times (There’s at least two or three, actually from what I’ve seen).
Gonna have a go at a robot or two next.

HLVRAI B-Side rapid fire, let’s go! Some of this is similar information to an older post and some of it is new.
Character Information
The Player (Wicker) and Barney Benrey
Benrey’s player is a Twitch Streamer named Johnwicklover1994, but he informally goes by “Wicker” by his chat and people that collaborate with him. Wicker found out about a special Collector’s Edition of Half-Life after another Twitch streamer played through the OG Half-Life through this special edition.
Playing this Collector’s Edition of Half-Life suddenly blew up as a popular trend after the original stream. While Wicker is not much of a trend follower, he DOES enjoy games with janky NPC behaviors, and the AI seemed to fit the bill just fine.
All the Player Characters in the Collection are AI like their companions, but their existences as such is part of a much larger series of glitches that resulted in the collection never being released. The PC’s personalities are partially molded by the actions of their Player…Benrey is seemingly okay with this because Wicker is a very friendly player.
Upon finding out he can say pretty much anything and completely influence the game, Wicker started making it his goal to become best friends with ALL of the AI, even if it means tricking the game into thinking that soldier he found was a former best friend.
Wicker has never actually SEEN the original HLVR streams, he just knew the names of the character and put those names in when he was setting up the game. He wanted to see if the game would let him change Barney’s name, and it did. He was able to justify this change in-universe to Benrey being a jokester that frequently changes his name to see if any of the high-ups will notice.
For all intents and purposes, Benrey and Wicker are the same person when Wicker is in-character.
Background information (Under the cut)
B-Side takes place in a universe where HALF-LIFE VR is part of a Collector’s Edition of the OG game and all its original expansions that started development after Valve’s contributions to VR technology in 2013. The VR was intended to be an optional feature so that even players that didn’t have it could still enjoy the original games.
The AI was an additional feature created to bring more life to all players since some players wouldn’t be playing on VR anyways. The scope of the AI was never supposed to go as far as it did, but somehow the developers implemented self-learning technology.
The AI implementation ended up creating issues that could not be solved due to how the AI was learning, and the code was eventually rendered unusable as the game would frequently crash due to the AI attempting to pull resources from other games in the same way that GMod does for Source games.
The Collector’s Edition was supposed to utilize a custom engine that bridged Goldsource and Source engine.
The files for the Collector’s Edition were backed up and eventually leaked by an unknown individual. This individual would also encourage for an unofficial release of the collection, but in closed conversations would provide the condition that they were allowed to oversee development as an uncredited person. While it took a while for a group to accept the project due to this controversial condition, it was eventually accepted. The individual’s singular contribution was a line of code that seemed to prevent any form of hardware or software crash while the game was running, even with exploits that crashed the original games.
One of the game’s features included with the AI was smooth level transitioning that prevented any of the pausing or freezes associated with loading a new map.
Each game in the collection comes with a set of customizable companion AI that the player can pick and choose to have accompanying them when one starts a new game.
For OG Half-Life, the possible starters include one of each of the basic scientists and a security guard, however the data for the AI also includes the G-Man and a “rival” in the form of a randomly assigned soldier; also included is a “custom companion” slot whose default is a random image of a dog.
One of the custom backgrounds for AI is “alien imposter” and it is an understandably popular choice after a certain multiplayer game released. This background was meant to be locked out from player use in the final release as it was a background made specifically for the G-Man’s AI, but the devs of the unofficial release thought it was too funny to NOT keep accessible.
You are not supposed to be able to have the Rival and the G-Man as companion AI. Wicker’s game being fucked up is the only reason he was able to do that, but a similar achievement can be done by modifying the code.
The reason Wicker’s game is so weird is because he did some shoddy coding in an attempt to get the HUD from Blue Shift into the OG Half Life. For some reason, it is not possible to modify the colors themselves, so the next best thing he was able to do was fuck around with the files and trick the game into running the OG game’s maps in Blue Shift, allowing him to play Half Life as Barney.
There are explicit warnings in the READ ME file to not run any of the campaigns outside their original game due to the AI companion listings not all being compatible. Some games have more slots for AI companions than others, and the devs wanted to get a patch in that would pull the companion AI slots from one BIG pool instead multiple smaller pools on a by-game basis since the result of, say, running Half-Life through Blue Shift while requesting Blue-Shift exclusive AI might result in incredibly buggy companions.

Regular Show: CJ... besides being cute she's a fun character and was a good match for Mordecai.. then he fucking blew it in an incident i've never quite gotten over and will cover at some point if anyone's intrested, though till I do Sarcastic Chorus has covered mordecai fumbling the ball well. Overall the show itself is great, aside from season 6. The Romance Stuff can be drawn out when your not talking about Rigleen, but it's got great comedy, good batshit insanity and ends on a high note. It's an all time classic and like adventure time left a mark on animation. It's succesor close enough was even better and go seek it out since it's hard to find offically because warner bros fucking blows.
Sym Bionic Titan: Octus, brian poshen's best role and one of the best designs i've seen. The show itself was treated oh so shittily and i'ts nice Gennendy now has more of a blank check over at cartoon network (Still need to watch more of Unicorn: Warriors Eternal) as they owe him after canceling this. Still a good show and I hope he can continue it someday.
The Problem Solverz: no faviorites, didn't like this one. Almost forgot to include it. Next.
Robotmy: Don't really have a faviorite character but I did last this one. Like Titan deserved better and that's a bit of a theme at times during this era: some shows got the runs they deserved, others died fast
Gumball; Penny. I liked her first design and her unshelled one was a nice twist. She also serves as a nice contrast to her boyfriends nonsense and i'm glad they pulled the trigger on that fast. Carie is a close second. As for this show I honestly need to see more as I simply lost touch when I stopped having cable and didn't catch up on streaming. But it's an excellent show. While I hated it's sticking to the status quo, in hindsight it dosen't: both the boys get girlfriends in stand out episodes, their grandma gets married, richard's dad comes back, change does happen it's just more on the simpsons scale of "it's gradual". I"m happy it's coming back and to see a movie eventually.
Secret Mountain Fort Awesome: I got nothing. I didn't really watch this one, wasn't intrested, what I saw wasn't good. Next.
Ben 10 Omniverse: Rook Mothefucking Blonko. For all the ups and down with the series, he was a worthy partner to ben, a fun character and a nice contrast being the more reserved by the book badass normal to Ben's empowered moron. One of the series best additions, bring him back whenever it returns. Have child him adventure with ben I don't care. As for the show as a whole.. it's a fucking mess. It has some really good stuff like the initial arc, Blox (My faviorite transformation of this era), and some good one off episodes... but also a lot of wacky nonsense. The show tried to restroe some of the og continuity the alien era ignored, which is good on paper but in practice left the franchise a spiraling mess, brought back some characters without properly reintroducing them (Though bringing lucy back was a good move and she was fantastic), and had a ton of ships for ben but settled on the worst option, making him a harem protaganist for no real reason. Some arcs were good, some eps were good, a lot of it is garbage, and the design work is excellent. It's not horrible but it is a hot mess of a show and a weird note to end the og continuity on.
Uncle Grandpa: Pizza Steve. This show was alright: Id idn't like it at first but it grew on me a little, though I just kinda drifted from it. As batshit insane as the idea was, I did like the steven universe crossover as it somehow worked and has some of the best pearl moments series wide. Otherwise the series is alright and probably worth another look.
Steven Universe: Garnet. The series has a LOT of great characters (Pearl and Greg are close seconds and thirds), but Garnet is a throughly intresting character, a kind leader and a good mom to steven with one of the most badass musical numbers in all of animation. Pearl again is a very close second being a nicely flawed character. The series as a whole.. is one of my faviorite cartoons of all time if not my faviorite. It's one I need to rewatch: beautifully animated, paced decently (Far from perfectly but looking at the bigger picture now it's over, not nearly as bad as it's rep was. It spaced out story moments with life just happening). The cast is memorable and charming as hell, the fight scenes some of the best in western animatoin and animation period, and the finale while rushed due to rebecca having to take a seasons worth of finale material and compress it into a few extra episodes she had to beg cartoon network for, is utterly satisfying. Steven Unvierse Future: While this one is a bit later might as well get it out of the way. I love this one. I get why some don't, it's divisive, to me it feels like a valid deconstruction of Steven's trauma, an epilogue that shows what having this savior complex thrust on him, this need to fix grown adults, would do to the poor boy and ends with him finding his own life. It's bleak as hell in places, but it ends on a note of hope and humanity that makes the jouney worht it.
Clarence: Sumo whose some classic tom kenny and usually pretty fun. A weird note to end on as while Steven Universe, like adventure time before, changed animation, where as CN kinda buried Clarence after it's creator's public breakdown and like Gumball I lost touch eventually. That being said.. Clarence is excellent. The crew rebounded well, the characters are charming and it's a nice slice of life show. I wish Jeff was less of a jerk, but otherwise it's a really fun show with a really kind protagonist.

And now, a bit of screaming about the spn UNIVERSE
It basically feels in my head like...hm...think of any cinematic moment that has the same feel as "there's a lot more of us." It's like that, only for the narrative potentials of the spn universe. And I love the og series dearly, I've always thought that timeline alone should be able to burst out into infinite stories. However going multiverse is not surprising and doesn't mean it won't also expand along the timeline of spn prime world too.
I had one hesitancy on if TW turned out to be an AU world timeline. However in execution, I'm getting a story value trade. Let me explain: What’s lost is unreliable narrators and how family histories get told and how trauma and grief impacts that to explain discrepancies. There are variations between TW and the mothership that seemed due to lack of having the full story, and context, a few things that seemed like trivialities, at no point did I think CMP creatives actually screwed up. Those things were all there on purpose. They perfectly well know spn mothership canon. While I’m sorry to lose that layer about unreliable narrators, same thing is true, they know spn mothership canon.
I’ve also maintained right along that the TW timeline is protected. Turns out it is. Not because it’s actually THE timeline leading to the spn mothership events. TW is still not going to be undone. It is not going to be wiped out, it's now been set free running on a more hopeful track that it would have been on if Dean hadn't meddled. These new characters, this series, linked to the spn mothership, has its own life.
That’s the trade. Put something in the portal, get something back. I still feel like going multiverse as explanation is more simplistic that I hoped for, there's so much complex narrative stuff going on I don't want to dwell on that.
It’s also still very much a rumination and reflection on spn prime, a reply to it, a loving tribute to it, and even a criticism of it. There’s a whole complex dialogue going on between TW and SPN for those who want to listen.
The stories of Carlos, and Lata, and Ada, and Millie, and that John and Mary, have their own journey and are worth loving on their own. It’s too late to go back, I love them for them, not just how TW was a delivery system on Dean’s story and that’s the dual role TW S1 was meant to have.
Oh and btw ROBBIE CONFIRMED CARLOS MENTIONED ON SPN IS THE SPN PRIME VERSION OF THIS ALT CARLOS THEY ARE THE SAME CHARACTER DIFFERENT WORLDS. I'm gonna cry again, Sam and Dean had a Carlos, we don't know that version. Yet.
And there’s also just something about the fact that DEAN HIMSELF CREATED THIS STORY.
This timeline in this alternate earth, this kinder rumination on trauma, and contemplation on the mothership, this inclusive spn world show. Getting into the metatextual level, Dean is the avatar for Jensen, Robbie, everyone at CMP. In story, look what Dean gave birth to.
Also I cannot believe that here I’ve been rewatching Fringe and lacing a bit of that into my TW meta and pointing out TW has a producer who worked on Fringe S1 and somehow??? I really thought????? TW WASN’T GOING MULTIVERSE. If I start thinking metas on Dean and Peter Bishop and Walter Bishop my head just might implode and it’s already imploding
ALSO?? WORLD BETWEEN WORLDS??? THEY JUST STAR WARS REBELS AT ME ON MAIN WTF.
So, this kind of multiverse, just blew the spn universe wide open. Beyond opening up Dean’s story, it opened up the spn universe. I’m used to this from DC and Marvel (and being a Fringe fan). There are pitfalls to that kind of opening up. Robbie’s written for Marvel and DC, he knows how this works and what he’s doing.
I read Robbie’s EW interview. They've broken the spn universe open in every direction on potential canvases for stories.
1.13 in execution and the implications of what this could lead to is incredibly exciting to me as someone who wanted an expanded spn universe.

Virtual Character Tourney - Round 3 - Bracket 1 - 1

Propaganda below (May contain spoilers!)
Hatsune Miku propaganda:
she is hatsune fucking miku. progenitor of the character vocal series. she is everything
she's literally the OG virtual girl…
first sound of the future and the most iconic #Girl in the world. everybody loves her. liking vocaloid is not a prerequisite to liking miku she is everything to me she is blue hair blue tie hiding in your wifi. And she is my best friend
X.A.N.A propaganda (...Propa-XANA?):
Listen man I know they probably won't win but still. Xana my beloved I don't care that they've nearly murdered several (yes I do) but they're like. Kid mes favorite villain from a cartoon. They can infect machines, humans, etc. Hell, they even created zombies at one point!! They nearly blew up a nuclear power plant! They turned gravity off! They nearly annihilated a kid with a government space Lazer! All while being a computer virus/program!
XANA's cool (thumbs up). Also it's a program (in universe) that was originally housed on a supercomputer but kinda spread outside of it (because of the main character kids accidentally letting the freak (affectionate) out of its cage?) Also almost kills people on a regular basis. :)

Hey I wanted to say how much i love your fics. Kagehina is my go to pairing and your fics have a quality maybe like what one anon said abt Ghibli. I keep longing to read something like tht, a setting that steals your heart like a book cover that intrigues you and you want to be sucked into the verse. There's the melancholy to it, then a feeling akin to reading haikyuu itself. As nostalgic, refreshing and that you achieved something in life. Your Brazil shoyo is something imprinted in my heart. It's a blessing u write for kagehina. Ik u don't ship them and some anon even implied abt how annoying kghn fans were lol still I'd love to say hah but she gets their dynamics so good or yayyy she writes for kagehina. Your recent nyc fic blew my mind away. I got chills reading the last part abt hinata like YOU GET HIM. How do you nail characters WITH setting so well?? The environment we grow up in is so important to shape our views Like nyc Brazil Japan literally you are amazing! Also do you have any hc for Kageyama in Italy👀
Also if you ever right og fiction, I'm ur number one fan. You will have so many fans with your content! Sorry for long ask sjshjjshhjjj
Take care.
Hello, anon!!! And *sobs* thank you!!!! My fics are just a drop in the incredibly immense ocean of works in the fandom, but I'm glad my stories found you and resonated with you so much. It's such a huge accomplishment ;-; ;-; ;-;
AHHHH you want me to share my headcanons of Kageyama in Italy? Well, DON'T MIND IF I DO :D
Kageyama lived with Ali Roma's assistant coach (I've always liked the name Gino, so let's go with that) for his first year in Serie A to help him integrate better. Gino's eldest son moved away to Antwerp for university so he had the spare room. A portion of Kageyama's starting salary was supposed to go to Coach Gino for his living expenses, but Gino insisted for Kageyama to use that money to buy stuff for himself instead since he brought so little when he came to Italy. In return, Kageyama helped with mowing the lawn and walking the dogs and washing the dishes. Gino had two other boys, Elio (7) and Dino (6), and they took turns harassing Kageyama into playing football with them in their backyard. Kageyama usually acquiesced if they played volleyball with him afterwards.
When he became more comfortable with the language and the people, Kageyama moved out of Gino's home during his second year, much to the family's dismay. Especially Elio and Dino---they were buzzing around Kageyama like wasps when he was straightening his luggage at the doorstep ("Are you leaving us because I kept stealing your team jackets?" Dino asked mournfully. "No," Kageyama said, totally bewildered at the children's tear-streaked faces). Little did they know that Kageyama rented an apartment so comically close to their home, just three blocks away from theirs.
One time during a match against Perugia, Kageyama had this disconcerting feeling that something was wrong with his vision. He consulted with the team's doctor, who referred him to an ophthalmologist. He found out he had a mild case of myopia (nearsightedness); it wasn't serious and he didn't need any corrective lenses, but Kageyama badgered the poor doctor with questions that the consult lasted for an hour and a half. The doctor gave him an extensive list on how to prevent it from getting worse: diet, exercise, less screentime, and loads and loads of sunshine. So now, Kageyama spent most of his free time outdoors: cycling, running, mountain climbing, reading sports monthly magazines at the park, playing pick-up games with his teammates, or walking Gino's dogs around the neighborhood. Whenever Kageyama's parents called to check on him, he was always out and about. It surprised them at first; they hadn't known their son to be the outdoor-sy type, but it did put their mind at ease. Kageyama had always been noticeably more cheerful when he's under the sun.
Beat reporters found Kageyama particularly frustrating to interview, though they weren't sure if it was a matter of his personality, his nationality, him being media-trained af by the team's comms department, or all three. Talented and an exciting player on the orange court, for sure, but outside of it he rarely had anything interesting to say. Always calm, always poised, always with the cliché responses. He was once ambushed in a family restaurant by a sports podcaster who asked for his opinion about the sudden spike in female Ali Roma fans, and Kageyama answered with a cool, "Volleyball is the greatest sport in the world. I'm glad more people are realizing that now and tuning in to our games. I'm grateful for any support the sport and our team gets, wherever it's coming from". ("Gah, he's so unaffected!" the podcaster grieved. "No girls, no scandalous rendezvous, no skeevy thoughts, no openings, nada. Zero. Zilch. Like what the hell? Is he a cyborg? It's always volleyball 100%.").
But one journalist sniffed around Kageyama's early career happenings and she managed to find something that'd generate a reaction. Compare Kageyama's stats to a certain undersized Japanese player in Brazil's Superlega, and you'd find unassailable proof that Kageyama Tobio is, indeed, human ("Yeah? And how many service aces and solo blocks does he have?" Kageyama scoffed when the reporter said his longtime rival held São Paolo's team lead in kills and total swings. "Not that many, I'm sure. Not that I watch his games anyway.").

RvB 20th rewatch: s13
And here we are… at the end… I delayed watching this like a whole day I swear I am going to die
The Tartarus crew with Felix is just a speed run of what he did to the fans
“Hey that’s intolerant” // “you’re intolerant!”
Rip Stassney 😔
13 really knocks it out of the park right from the beginning on every angle- comedy, drama, animation… they held nothing back
I want it noted that I think Tucker dancing and Sarge being his backup vocals is a VERY important animated goof. I love them.
God I love Carolina and Church
GRAY!!!!!!!
“It’s Christmas come early, unless you’re looking at it from the pirates point of view, in which case it’s the opposite” // “Hanukkah?”
God I love when Church gets to be dorky
Man they gave us og blue team silliness they fucking knew what they were doing
“Yeah that’s tough I’m crying on the inside” quoted line
Have we considered Grayboose-
WHEN THE VOICE OF ALIEN JESUS TALKS DOWN TO YOU YOU DO NOT RESPOND WITH WHATS UP
“Don’t psychoanalyze me” heavily quoted line
GOOD DAD TUCKER
Church not responding to Epsilon was always an interesting touch to me
CAROLINA AND CHURCH MY BELOVED
Sometimes I remember how Church is a copy/memory of a copy of Carolinas father and then I see how he sometimes gets all protective over her and I lose my fucking mind
CAROLINA HAS REDISCOVERED HER INNER SILLY MY GIRL I LOVE HER IM SO PROUD OF HER KAVSKAJALHDKAJSKH
You know Counselor I’d also kill the Director if it meant not having brain worms for a 21 year old web series that ruined my life
THE POWER OF LETTING YOUR VILLAINS BE A LITTLE SILLY
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT PAST TENSE BULLSHIT
Correct Caboose IS a true warrior
SANTA
Game Grumps cameo
JINKIES ITS SHARKFACE
You know the bad thing about the whole Doc thing is that the first time I watched this I legitimately did forget about him being gone 😭
BUT THE WAY I CHEERED WHEN OMALLEY CAME BACK I WAS SO HAPPY I LOVE HIM
Wash was so real for his taunting Locus
THE CALL BACKS THIS SEASON ARE SO GOOD
Tucker really pushed to his wits end
“Gotta go faster” Carolina is sonic the hedgehog
AKAHSKAIHAKSHAKSHKS EPSILON FAILING AJHSKKANSKJDKDJSKWNK
Petty little sister time: my brothers fr missing out on the beauty of this season it’s so fucking good and I get to enjoy it alllllll to myself in this family :3
Speaking of petty sisters: Love Church just being like how do I not get killed by my sis when she wakes up
Take yourself… fuck yourself… with yourself
Carolina and Church have a moment and I need a lobotomy
“I can’t lose another family” somebody sedate me
“Complete and total faith in one another” SOMEBODY SEDATE ME
Doyle you will always be famous to me
Rip sharkface
God… Doyle’s sacrifice, Epsilon and Carolina, the music…. Fucking… G O D the power…
And then KIMBAL SPEECH GOD
Also I cackle every time the army’s start firing their guns cause like WE JUST ESTABLISHED THEYRE LOW ON WEAPONRY AND AMMO AKSHKHSKDJJS
AND THEY LET CABOOSE DRIVE THE TANK!!!!
Counselor was so real for wanting to just nope out of there
“The moment Donald Doyle blew half your troops to hell” frothing at the mouth THAT LINE DELIVERY
Just kill me
It’s been a hot second since I’ve gotten to say this but Sarge being the one to understand that Wash is being genuine when he says he believes in them? SARGE HAS THE BEST CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN THE SERIES!!!!!!!
I love how Felix is fully animated while the reds and blues are mostly machinama in the final fight
OH PLEASE IM THE ORIGINAL BAD BOY
“What is wrong with you people” they are a bunch of deranged little weirdo assholes and I love them dearly 😊
RIP FELIX YOU LITTLE RAT BASTARD
Insane that they had a great set up for future stories with Locus and then proceeded to do nothing with it
KAI!!!!!!! AND JUNIOR!!!!!!!!!
Ever think about how they won… like they did it… they defeated the bad guys and sent the message… the only reason things end the way they did is because Hargrove couldn’t lay down and accept defeat… they fucking won and it still wasn’t enough to save them…
they truly were doomed by the narrative
SHEILA!!!!!
He’s so… BALD
GOD CHURCH SEEING TEXS HELMET
“Not this time buddy” kindly requesting to be taken out back and shot
What the fuck do I even say? They made the perfect ending. They pulled out all the stops, the callbacks, the character development, trocadero went harder than they ever had before, they wrapped up all the remaining loose ends of project freelancer… it was thematic and beautiful, it fit the themes of the show, it was tragic, it ended the only way RvB can… with Church dying for good. There’s no version of this story where he lives…. Where they’re not doomed
And thus concludes my 20th rewatch of RvB 1-13… truly the show ever. of all time. It manages to be just as powerful now, 8 years and 20 rewatches later, as it was the very first time I watched it as a little 15 year old girl who decided to watch that silly halo show my brothers were always quoting because I was bored one day.
Anyway sure glad that’s where the show ended and it definitely didn’t get dragged on for way too long with mediocre seasons and an unsatisfactory ending or anything like that… wouldn’t that be crazy

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGKNG TELL ME IM THE FIRST PERSON TO DROP AN ASK FOR THE FANDOM GAME FOR NARCOS MEXICO, PLS LET IT BE SO bc you stuck to OG narcos for the other ask with the exception of Calderoni which, fair. Like I am a Calderoni apologist through and through but I would also totally throw him off a roof. It’s complicated. But anyway, since you kept it OG specific I feeeeeellll like you must be begging for an Nmx specific ask. Am I wrong??? If not, I am here to deliver this ask.
Kay, my beautiful, wonderful mamadas enthusiast. You're never wrong. And I can never say no to you. 😌
The first character I first fell in love with: Okay so we all know who I ended up having severe brainrot over as the series went on 😂 I am not immune to the meerkat man. HOWEVER!!! I will say that the first character that I started to like right off the rip was Rafa. And also Don Neto, too, but Rafa is way prettier 😂 I just loved his chaotic energy idkidk
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: The way that Victor blew into s3 like a hurricane and immediately threw me for a 180. I feel like at first I was just curious about his character and what the whole deal there was, but by the end of the season I was weeping. The tears I've wept. I love him.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Okay so I said my piece about Calderoni in the last Narcos ask. And I don't wanna repeat answers, so I shall reach into my hat and pull out another unpopular opinion. Because there is nothing I love more than swinging bats at hornets' nests lmao. I feel like I should preface this with saying, I do NOT hate him. I don't. I just, I don't really get/feel the hype around Ramon Arellano. Like I can look at him and see that he's pretty, and I enjoy his scenes well enough, but he has not bewitched me. Idk if he ever will lmao
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't think??? I have one?? I feel like the closest I get to this is being a Walt Girlie but I don't think anyone actually hates him. He is just not the preferred entree on the NMX menu lmao.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Okay so coming into the series, I was already rooting for Felix because I am in love with Diego Luna lmao. Unfortunately, however, I realized that no amount of loving Diego Luna was ever going to make me love Miguel. Literallyyyyy who cheats on Maria???? Dumbass. 😂
The character I would totally smooch: God. Most of the cast??? What do you want from me?? 😂 Nah but fr I think Mayo could fix me. I'd let him try, at least. 😌
The character I’d want to be like: Solid tie between Dina and Andrea. I love them both. I can't choose one.
The character I’d slap: A long fucking list if ever there was one, Kay. 😂 Am I allowed to put Calderoni here? In a different category?? Is that allowed? 😂 Fuck it we ball.
A pairing that I love: Miguel and jail. 😌 Sksksk no but for an actual pairing, there is just something that I really love about the whole Claudio/Dina dynamic that I just love, for as short-lived and tragic as it was. I love them. I want someone else to write fic about them so I can read it sksksk
A pairing that I despise: Ooooo this is interesting. I'm not...I'm not sure if there is one? I mean obviously allowing Miguel to be near any woman is criminal. Maria deserved so much better and so did his second wife that I don't remember the name of even though we literally just watched the fucking episodes 😂 But that has to do more with Miguel than the actual pairing hahaha. I don't think I have a pairing that I hate off the principle of it. Maybe I need to be more of a hater or something sksksk
Thank you for this!! tqm 💕
Send me a fandom!

Long cartoons ramble lol
That was from my queue but making me think abt s2 my biggest fear is s2 is simon being like out of the main story like as a character that just sometimes comes up not just because I like him like yeah but way more importantly I really liked how the dynamic and friendship between him and fionna and cake developed because it was like so extremely important for the entire world building and I get sorta miffed when people are like, uhhh it's fionna and cake not fionna cake and simon get over it 🙄 let other characters (finn gets brought up a lot here) take the spotlight, like firstly you're contradicting yourself because I don't see Finn in the title either, and not to say I don't want to see more of him (I do! And I anticipate more of him!) But he was NOT actually a major part of the story! And isn't actually all the relevant to fionna he NEVER was in the og series, ice king was, but lemme back up. . .
From the beginning, fionnaworld existing in Simon's mind, was entirely impacted by his feelings, which wasn't just the lack of magic it was the fact he was depressed and getting to his wits end, feeling out of place, that's why fionna was so sad in her world, "I'm not feeling like myself today" etc, it wasn't like in a vacuum she was 100% intertwined with him (always was! Ice king wrote her stories!) And the beginning of their relationship was this sort of hostility like simon being angry to know she even existed and wasn't just a foolish machination of the insane ice king, and his peers are like ohhhh we loved those comics ice king wrote, and meanwhile simon is like repeatedly attempting suicide (which would have killed fionnas entire world. Btw.) Fionna is a little more open to him, but leaning towards her self interest of the fact that if he dies her world does, cake meanwhile is like damn this guy sucks.
By the end of the journey though, fionna genuinely cares about him so much she'd rather risk losing the battle to save her and her world than for simon to destroy himself for her (and she does this twice actually! The first time when they were with the lich and fionna had secretly picked up the crown and tried to hide it so simon wouldn't put it on, she even fights with cake over it, her bestie cake), simon cares so much he (ALSO TWICE) tries to go against Betty's wishes to save fionnas world with the crown, and at FIRST it was like a convenient excuse to psychologically off himself like welp I don't care if I live or die, if I throw my brain awake this person lives, then it's settled. Later its like, he so genuinely wants to make the sacrifice he tries doing it in front of his chaos God wife (when originally.. the plan was to see her, apologize, and die with her)
After fionnas world became it's own thing separate from simon.. like, the parallel cannot be missed here, the fact that her world was represented by a dandelion she wished on to save, the fact that Betty blew simon away like blowing like a dandelion wishing for him to go back home and live, he and fionna stay in contact across the multiverse to be friends. And their friendship and love for one another peaked at this point, when they are no longer like involuntarily bound together, they both chose to make the best of the lives they have (fionnas being letting go of the magic she wanted to have, and learning to appreciate her world as it is .. which is better because the way it is, simon is not suffering (as ice king ) for it to exist. That's what her nightmare about the freezer was about.)
Like all the themes and parallels between fionna and simon are so fucking intertwined I cannot even understand why you'd want to see less of that :[ even if it's not the main focus of like, whatever stakes will be introduced in s2, their bond should still be like.. very prominent I feel?? To be like "well we don't need simon anymore since fionnas on her own" kinda like dumps out all of the stuff I was just talking abt yknow?? And idk like rip to you but I'm different ig but was it not super sweet and cute for a peppy 30 year old failwoman, her sassy talking cat, and a 59 year dorky widower with a heart of gold to be adventure buddies like..? :[
"Well Simon's story with betty concluded" I hear a lot well, okay! First of all the conclusion sucked but w/e that's a hot topic of debate, but more importantly, that's fine, that part can be concluded and. The conclusion was (the better part of it) that simon should stop letting his grief about betty kill him from the inside out and instead live the life she sacrificed herself for him to have. So... that.. lines up? Perfectly in fact?? that sets him up for s2 to have more than not a clean slate on one of the most major parts of his character since forever (betty) like if his journey is no longer about her then. He's like pretty fresh to do whatever. And what was ADDED to him was his relationship with fionna and cake. And as much as I WISH he got a happier end with betty, it is what it is, I'm very much ready for simon new game+ where he's happier and (especially since s1 set him up as like being pretty alone and isolated even from the people who love him b/c they're living their own fulfilling lives) gets a reprise with fionna and cake and they're like, his next closest people, and she like, gets another adventure with the person connected to the world of magic she wanted (who himself isn't even magic he's a human like her)
I don't wanna see that shoved to the side it would be heartbreaking!! They're friends! They care so fucking much about eachother! 😭 it's not just me right?? I can't be the only one who doesn't feel like their friendship is integral to the story 😭😭
