one thing abt being disabled/chronically ill that some people don’t get is that sometimes body maintenance that ensures you have the absolute minimum amount of function can also be something that takes away a lot of control and autonomy. you can argue till the cows come home that making those decisions to try and help yourself (or realistically to try to make sure things aren’t worse than they already are) is something that exhibits control and autonomy and stuff, but they can be so limiting in practice because they’re things that take up so much time but have to be done to do anything else
#i have to sleep a lot. i’m at the point where functioning requires 8 hours of sleep if not more#I should probably be getting 10+ but i’m a student and i work so 8 is the minimum. but then also getting ready for bed is a whole process s#the whole thing can take 10-12 hours depending how much im sleeping. just to make sure i can do anything#that is time in my day i cannot use for anything else. it’s not ‘oh but i can push through it’ because i can’t without spending the next da#lightheaded and nauseous and vaguely dizzy and with such intense brain fog I can’t think with my fatigue so bad i genuinely don’t know how#get myself to work a lot of days. my abled peers don’t have to deal with this at all. they have unlimited study time if they want to#and yeah it is a choice i’m making that’s true i could just not do. except i would lose my job and fail out of college because i would not#be able to get to classes or do my homework or think. but being told ‘but you are making choices about your life’ when i have lost so much#of what i used to be able to do because i am spiralling down and continuing to get worse is so.#literally last year i would wake up at 6:30 and then go to school till 3 and then go to my internship until 10 and get home at 11 and be in#bed anywhere from midnight to two in the morning and then wake up the next day and do it all again. i graduated with a 3.9 gpa and made it#into my top college while dealing with my cancer symptoms and then the two surgeries about it#but now i lose half my day to just making sure i can get out of bed. i can’t go anywhere because my body is physically too exhausted#any extra time goes into doing homework or occasionally time to myself#not decimating my health by doing minimum body care responsibilities isn’t freeing. occasionally i have a good day which is freeing but tha#usually goes into just. other things outside class or work or eating. I don’t go do something for myself or go do something fun on good day#because I still can’t. good days just mean i don’t want to lie down on the pavement when i’m going somewhere#I just. I don’t magically have control over my life because i try to get enough sleep. i lose half my day to doing that and ultimately it’s#just a bodily function that would have to happen anyway#this is a vent post im just having a really hard time right now because it feels like im in exponential decline. it was nowhere near this#bad last semester. my grades are tanking and i have no free time because anything outside of sleep is either work or school#vent tw#yall can rb this just ignore my tags completely#disability#chronically ill#i keep trying to explain to people how pots works because that’s all logical but there’s no way to explain what it’s doing to my body or ho#i feel all the time. the last time i felt this bad was when i had a bad flu or immediately after surgeries because i don’t react well to#anesthesia and always come out of them feeling like shit. and now i just feel like this all the time and it’s only getting worse#I can’t even stay up late anymore because my body feels like it isn’t counting the sleep even if I get 8 hours#I can deal if I have a free day the day after but that just leaves Friday and Saturday nights and I usually still have to do homework

People Pleaser Steve
Steve is a people pleaser. Years of living with his parents and their demeaning stares and harsh words have destroyed his sense of self preservation.
"Keep Eye Contact, Steven," his mother would say. "Stop Complaining, You need to make our guest Comfortable." His father would say. Until the age of ten all Steve got was criticism. Constant reminders on how to behave perfectly and how to appease his parents.
The morning they decided he was old enough to stay home himself, coincidentally on his 10th birthday, they packed up and started renting an apartment in Chicago to better monitor their Business. They sent him money for food, got him a bike so he could go to school, they even sent a few extra 20s every other month so he could get new clothes as he grew.
Of course, Steve never complained. This was how he kept the peace, how he avoided the cold glare from his parents.
The pattern continued into adulthood, Steve practically raised himself for the last 8 years of his childhood, he only saw his parents when they needed him.
When he (accidently) became the mother of the nerdiest bunch of kids in Hawkins, he made himself a promise, No matter what he'd be there. Every recital, every birthday party, every holiday, and every time they needed a ride; he was there.
When Christmas came around after everything had happened, after Max had recovered and Eddie's wounds had healed perfectly, he decided he would make it the best Christmas they'd ever seen. Just to make them happy.
He decorated the entire house, made enough food to feed his small football team of a group, he got so many presents for everyone that he had to skip out on food three days a week for two months just because he wanted it to be perfect.
The kids came over on Christmas Eve night to spend the night together, slept in sleeping bags he bought special for them. Eddie came to help wrangle the crazies until Robin got back from visiting her grandparents in Ohio.
They ate like they were starving or like it was their last meal. All except Steve, who was too afraid to overstep or take away from someone else to even try one of the many kinds of food he made.
The games died down and the food was gone by midnight. The kids slept peacefully in their sleeping bags. Steve let out a small sigh, a smile on his face as he stood and took empty platters and plates to the kitchen.
He washed the dishes in silence, a baggy crew neck sweater replacing his usual polos. He knew if he wore them the others would notice he had lost weight and he didn't want to inconvenience them. It was rude to burden others with your problems. He honestly thought he had gotten away with it until a familiar Metal head guided him to the kitchen table.
"Ok Big boy, This isn't working for me," He said in a soft voice.
Steve immediately looked up, "I'm sorry, it won't happen again," he whispered, not even sure what he did.
Eddie sighs and says, "Steve, You think you're hiding it so well but you aren't. You take care of everyone and everything all of the time. Let me take care of you."
Steve couldn't move, couldn't respond, How Was he supposed to behave? He didn't know so he merely nodded.
Eddie smiled and immediately made Steve a bowl of cereal, something small and quiet. When he was positive Steve would eat it, he finished the dishes for him.
Steve looked so beat down and tired, the bags under his eyes told so much and Eddie knew that from now on he would do Everything to keep them away.
He took the empty bowl and washed it before walking over to Steve. "I know it's a bit early but...I got you something," he whispers, pulling out a small box from his back pocket.
It was a light blue box with a thin red ribbon and white trim. Steve's thin fingers removed the lid to find a locket in the shape of a guitar pick.
Inside there were two pictures, one with the kids, and one with Steve and Eddie. It was the picture from when Eddie was discharged, the day Steve agreed to get treatment for his wounds. Eddie's arm is around Steve's shoulders, it's the only picture in the world with Steve's Real smile. His eyes swelled with tears. It's the only gift he's gotten since he was 10, since his parents left to run their company, since Everything.
"Shit I didn't mean to make you cry again! I just-" Eddie is cut off with the tightest hug he's ever gotten.
"It's Perfect," Steve whispers.
He's met with calloused hands on the back of his head, gently massaging his scalp.
"Merry Christmas, Harrington."
"Merry Christmas, Munson."

* * * * *
It was a snowy December evening and Harry finished work early for a change. Being a busy journalist who worked for one of the biggest media companies in the world, he never finished before the sun went down. Even before he’d been promoted to his high position now, and he was just some young fresh-faced Uni graduate assistant who rarely saw the light of day. Waking up early and finishing late. He was always running off much less sleep than your average person, and even when he was at home he was busily typing away on his laptop. But despite his strenuous hours and stressful workload, he loved his job a lot, and openly admitted he was a workaholic.
This was why he needed a roommate. He worried for his sweet girl while he was away during the evenings.
At first, he couldn’t think of anything worse, he’d had roommates in Uni who literally made him want to pull his (gorgeous) hair out and swore to himself he’d never do anything like that again if he could avoid it. It wasn’t that his job didn’t pay well, in fact, he was very wealthy and he could’ve gotten a sitter for the days but it just didn’t seem practical to have a sitter every day for the rest of his life. And no, his sweet girl was not a partner to crawl into bed with during the evenings, or a child who needed his attention throughout the day.
His sweet girl was his spotted Dalmatian named Peaches, who got lonely during the long nights he’d stay at the office.
Y/n had been the perfect candidate for a roommate. Who he had met through a mutual friend Niall, they went to school together apparently and Niall worked with her now. He vouched that she was easy to live with. There had been a period of time when he had nowhere to go and Y/n let him live rent-free in her flat for a month until he could afford to get back on his feet. She was stupidly kind and generous, sometimes to a fault, but if you had the privilege of her friendship you were so lucky. When Niall explained to Harry what a good person she was Harry believed him. Niall had this great ability to see people’s true intentions, and when he looked at Y/n he saw a beacon of light coloured like spun gold.
Y/n worked for most of the week too, sometimes on weekends if they needed extra hands or she felt like going in, but her hours were flexible despite being a baker, which was unusual for her occupation. But she had a good group of workers who all loved their jobs even if it wasn’t exactly high-paying to work for her, which meant Y/n’s day-to-day life was pretty breezy. And during Harry’s hunt for roommates when Niall mentioned that this friend looking for an apartment with roommates happened to be a girl he was happy, because girls were usually clean and smelt good. Y/n very much smelt good and left a warm touch to the once cold large apartment. Quickly after she started living there, suddenly vases of flowers appeared everywhere, paintings were strung up on his grey walls, hand-knitted rugs found their way onto the couch, food was baking in his oven and Y/n’s contagious warmth filled every room. Harry had grown up with just his mum and sister and there was something he liked about having a feminine touch that made it feel homely. He liked how soft, caring, and gentle they were. Y/n was so sweet, whenever he had a bad day she made a tea and let him complain for however long he needed. And she and Peaches got on great, Y/n took her for long walks in the park near their flat and sometimes she even took Peaches into her work and the gorgeous pup would just sit in the front greeting customers.
The tires of Harry’s car rolled against the snow as he steadily drove through the busy middle of the city to the familiar route of Y/n’s bakery. She’d ran it for a couple of years now, having bought it fresh out of culinary school. It used to be a bookshop that was owned by a lady called Miss Green, now it was called ‘Sweets & Things’ and very successful with all the locals. Before they’d became roommates and he’d even known of her existence Harry remembers eating a particularly delicious danish pastry with blueberries in it, funny that a few years later his roommate made him fresh ones when he’d had a particularly rough day at work.
During the Christmas season the little bakery picked up a lot more. Y/n found herself catering for lots more events starting from October and she didn’t know why but people seemed to need more sweets around this time of year. Halloween needed lots of cookies and sweets, but something about Christmas drove her sales right up. Maybe it was what got them through the bleak winter weather. And since Harry knew she’d been a bit stressed by it all lately, not that she would ever complain that wasn’t her way because she loved her job and was grateful to live out her dreams, he thought it might be nice to drop her some dinner since she’d been neglecting proper meals during the work week.
He picked up some takeaway from this little mexican place near his office, Niall had raved about it a few times now, he got an array of food from the menu and asked what they thought was best. Now he had three big bags of spicy smelling goodness heating up his backseats. He knew that Niall and Y/n would be eternally grateful and Harry wouldn’t mind eating with their company tonight. He forgot not everyone ate takeaway at their desk in the pitch black like he did.
His car pulled up out the front of Sweets & Things and he saw the golden bright lights were still on in the front area of the bakery, but no one was behind the counter manning for costumers. Snow littered the grass and concrete out the front, all the benches people sat at were caked in a thick layer of white and Harry shivered at the sight of outside. His office heaters were broken so he was actually always sweating, no matter the season.
He parked his car lethargically and the sound of Fleetwood Mac cut off with the engine. He knew that the bakery stayed open until nine during the holiday season since Y/n had been working much later than normal and he’d asked about it, Harry checked his watch, and there was a little bit until they would shut down but it didn’t seem all that busy. And his friends deserved to eat after all.
He locked the car and walked along the path shivering and hugging the food to his body in attempt to warm himself up. He wiped his dress shoes against the welcome mat as he pushed the door with his broad shoulder, his dress shoes clicking on the tiles as he entered the bell above the door rang and he heard Y/n’s soft sweet laugh from behind the counter and footsteps. A warmth wrapped around his body and the smell of sweet baking and pastries filled his nose.
The shelves with glass casing showed to be practically empty of sweets. This made him smile. Y/n always felt particulary chirpy when people liked her new creations of the week.
He felt his face start to warm up now and he sighed to himself.
“Hello! Welcome to Sweet & Things, what can I get y—” Y/n’s voice began in her usual script to customers stopping when she saw him, “Oh, Harry! What are you doing here?!”
She rushed around the counter to come give him a cuddle in greeting. That was something about Y/n that took him a while to get used to, she was very physically affectionate. He opened his arms for her and held her happily.
She looked cute as ever. Dressed in an apron that was covered in all sorts of powder and a little pink blouse that hugged her figure, paired with her favourite well-loved Levi’s, her shoes were these dark pink boots that made little clicks on the tiles. She looked beautiful, despite the fact she was running off less sleep than usual, she’d been here since the early morning and was probably very tired by now. Her hair was up in a messy bun that she’d thrown back with a pen and her face was bare of much makeup today. She was just in some lip balm that he could smell was strawberry-scented.
She pulled back from his warm arms and smiled up at him as if she hadn’t seen him weeks when in reality he’d driven her to work that morning. They carpooled and in the evening she’d either walk or catch the bus but usually Niall offered her a lift home.
“I just thought I’d bring you and Niel dinner, it’s from that Flaming Green Jose’s place he was talking about.” He said showing the bags of food.
Y/n smiled this really big grin that Harry loved to make appear on her precious face.
Y/n knew Harry was a bit of a grumpy old bastard sometimes, he tended to complain and not like new ideas, but he really was the sweetest thing underneath his stern face and scary resting stare. He was a sweetheart underneath it all. Even though he was so intimidating and tall Y/n always thought he was quite delicate looking. He looked pretty even under the harsh light of the front room, he was in one of his usual business outfits he wore to the office that made him look especially good. Today’s suit was all black and he had a big beige-brown coat over the top to keep him warm in the cold and this deep dark crimson scarf that Y/n had bought him when she noticed he had no scarfs, he said how much he liked her purple one day it was so soft he said and she decided then he needed one too. His long curls of brown hair were dusted in snow and messier now that it was the end of the day. She was sure it was from running his hands through it, he did that a lot when he was concentrating or thinking.
She rushed forward hugged him again with a big squeeze and kissed his cheek in thanks, he smelt so addicting and her head was the perfect height to smell his clothes that smelt like he always did. Like tobacco, vanilla, and his citrusy and woodsy shampoo.
“Well aren’t you just a doll?” She said with a smile.
Harry couldn’t help but smile back at her looking down at her as a dimple formed in his normally stoic face. She pulled away from him hand still holding his bicep as she examined all the bags in his hands. Even though he dressed very formal always, he still had his touch on things, like his rings. Harry always wore dozens of amazing large rings, and nail polish too. Y/n had conviced him a few evenings ago to choose this nice lavender colour rather than his normal black. He said he would only if she would match him. So her nails were littered in that same colour and she was reminded of him whenever she looked at the chipping colour while she was kneading dough. And underneath those long shirts and pants were so many inked pieces of skin, that suited him more than you’d think.
Y/n loved when, usually on Sundays which were his day off, he was sat at home in just some pyjamas that showed all the ink and she could ask him the stories behind each while they did laundry. She liked him in suits of course, there was something very attractive about it, but she liked him all cosy and casual too. He barely ever dressed that way, only at home. She felt lucky to see him that way.
She snapped herself out of her daydreams about his gorgeous hands and that cross tattoo she loved when her tummy rumbled hungrily at the smell of the delicious dinner.
“Niall! Harry brought us dinner!” She called out and Niall stepped out of the kitchen. He looked similar to Y/n, dressed casual too, because she didn’t think uniforms suited her place. The shorter man was in a pair of his own baggy jeans and this brown knitted jumper and a pair of ratty old sneakers. His bleach blonde hair was in messy spikes and he had a pair of glasses on today instead of contacts.
“Haz, is that Flaming Green Jose’s?” Niall asked instantly without even greeting him properly as he walked over to sniff and grab at the bags.
Harry nodded lifting the bags in show, the green plastic was printed in the familiar taco on fire logo that proved it was in fact Flaming Green Jose’s.
Niall practically drooled and looked up at him eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas.
“I could kiss you, mate!” He said, his Irish accent dancing off his tongue.
Harry grimanced at him and handed over the bags. “Please don’t. Just take the tacos.”
Y/n giggled by his side squeezing his arm in her usual way when he said something that made her laugh.
Niall and Harry quickly began to set up the containers of different Mexican dishes while Y/n grabbed some cutlery, cups, and cold water for them all to enjoy their late dinner. The bakery had a few tables for people to sit and enjoy snacks at, and only for one portion of the day did they serve hot drinks, Niall was also a trained barista, which was perfect because she thought coffee suited a lot of her sweets.
The three of them set up their food in one of the booths that was a cherry red leather colour. The snow was falling heavily outside now against the windows and it had started to quiet down out there. Not as many shoppers or people finishing work were wandering around outside as usual. The storm was keeping people, hopefully, rugged up and warm inside.
Y/n dreamily looked outside as she turned the big overhead lights off and switched on just the fairy lights she had strung up for Christmas spirit. They were a nice soft golden orange glow for them to eat.
The three friends enjoyed their dinner quietly as the radio hummed some old jazz Christmas songs, they were all huddled together really close and Y/n leaned into Harry sleepily which he didn’t mind at all. The bakery was warm but Y/n felt chilly now that she was sweating away in the kitchen. Harry wrapped an arm around her shoulder to help warm her as they lazily chewed down their food. Even though he’d stripped himself of his massive coat and scarf he was still rather warm.
Niall was right it was quite good food and a family-run business which was always nice to support. Y/n knew how it hard was to be a little business in the busy city of London.
The three chatted about nothing particularly worth noting, just talking about normal Harry, Y/n, and Niall things and enjoying the food. Harry was very hungry so he’d barely spoken a word just chewing lazily beside Y/n. When all the food was gone and they all felt sufficiently full Y/n kissed Harry’s cheek once more.
“Thanks again for dinner, H.” She said softly eyes drooping, now that’d she been fed she was getting a bit sleepy.
He smiled, a big one for Harry, he was almost showing teeth.
“I know how hard y’guys have been workin’, just wanted to help in some way.” He shrugged like it was no big deal. And it wasn’t too much of a big deal but the fact he’d thought of them when he’d gotten the night off was sweet, he was so busy and he chose to spend some free time helping friends. That hardly matched his scary persona.
This made Y/n’s heart swell and she spoke softly. “Thanks, Haz.”
“Yeah mate, you’re the best.” Chimed Niall wiping his face with a napkin. Niall had devoured his food contently.
Their little dinner together was interrupted by the door swinging open, the bell ringing, and a couple of two walked in.
Y/n stood up, moving from the warmth of Harry.
“Hi! How can I help you?” She said plastering a smile on her face, walking over and tying the back of her apron back on.
The couple ordered a few Christmas cookies decorated like pieces of art and some cream horns that Y/n had made that morning. Y/n handed them their bags took their change and waved goodbye.
“Have a good night!” She chirped to them.
They smiled and waved. “You too, Y/n!”
Y/n came back over and sat down again, looking over to Niall tucking her knees up to her chest. “Is it gingerbread time then, Ni?”
Niall nodded throwing his head back with a sigh.
Gingerbread could be quite tedious. Especially the way Y/n decorated them. She really made them all individual pieces of art just for people to eat them. Which was beautiful, but also very time consuming.
Harry looked over, “I thought gingerbread was quite easy, Y/n makes it so quickly.”
Niall scoffed. “That’s because Y/n’s a machine. But even she can’t do this many cookies alone.”
Harry looked over at the tired pair of bakers and down at his hands. He tried to think of the last time he’d made gingerbread. Must have been with his sister Gemma when they were kids visiting their grandparents. But he thought if he could get an interview with James Hadden (a man who notoriously never answered questions to the media) then he could bake some cookies. How hard could it be?
“Let me help then. Many hands make light work.”
Y/n blinked. “You hate Christmas,” she stated.
He looked over at her. “But I like your Christmas cookies.”
Y/n decided not to fight him on it. “Alright. Niall find him an apron I’ll start setting up.”
Y/n began getting out all the ingredients they’d be needing this way they could each make a batch to save time. She grabbed flour pouring enough into three bowls for each batch, some unsalted butter, brown sugar from the cupboard, some eggs from the fridge, baking soda, milk, and all the spices. As she looked at the array of ingredients laid out on the steel bench she noticed she was missing the most with most important ingredient; golden syrup.
She walked to the stock cupboard and saw the big bottle of golden syrup sitting on the tallest shelf. Adam, a really tall baker, had been working earlier he must’ve put it there. Y/n tried to reach on her tiptoes though it was no use, her fingernails only just grazed it.
When a hand came out from behind her gripping the big can it startled her and she turned to see Harry standing behind her.
“Oh, you scared me,” She giggled.
“Sorry, Love.”
She followed him back out to the kitchen. He placed the big can down on the bench and she took in his form. His long shoulder-length hair was pulled back in a bun now, and he’d taken off his suit jacket and tie, his black shirt was rolled up to his elbows and the buttons on his collar were undone. He had an apron on now too, one of Y/n’s collection, it was pink and frilly with flowers.
Y/n softly explained to Harry the process of making the batter and he was intently listening to her every word watching her through his lashes. Soon enough the dough was perfect and all three of them rolled out the dough the perfect width which meant Harry had to re-roll it. Once Y/n gave a thumbs up of approval they began using the cookie cutter shapes and cutting the cookies out.
Harry had the make hearts and stars, Niall made gingerbread men and women, and Y/n made circles and snowflakes.
Eventually, they put in their first batch, a little after 10. They kept re-rolling the dough and cutting as many as they could until the batches vanished. Harry was very good and gentle with his technique, and some were wonky but Y/n loved that he was helping and it took her years to perfect her cookies so he was doing very well for his first time. She selfishly wanted to keep his batch for them to go home and eat but she didn’t.
By 11 all the batches were cooked or still cooking. Niall was on oven duty and Y/n was teaching Harry how to decorate.
The ginger people were decorated all classic. White iced smiley faces and an outline around their body, little chocolate buttons for the outfits and a pinch of icing sugar to look like snow. Harry tried his best to do them and Y/n loved their imperfections it was like real people; all individual.
The others needed to be painted in colourful swirls of festive landscapes and honestly, they looked like individual paintings. Harry was amazed at her steady hand and ability to decorate such creative and individual designs for each cookie.
“Y’like tha’ bloody Andy Wharol of cookies, Y/n.” He said.
And she giggled her concentrated face cracking to a smile. She looked over at him. “It’s just practice.”
“No, it’s not.” Said Niall, from his station. “I’ve been practising for ages, your baking is just pure talent.”
By midnight the last batch had cooled down and they were all decorating together and Y/n was humming along to the Christmas playlist she had put on.
Niall twirled Y/n around and they sang along goofily. Niall and Y/n had been friends since culanary school which felt like years ago now. They were only teenagers then. All baby-faced and wide-eyed, now they were older and still just as immature when put together. When Y/n opened her bakery and she needed extra hands he was the first person she called.
Niall was her best friend, and Harry had easily become her other one. Even though she was so tired and it was late, and her feet ached. The boys made it better. Niall singing into a spatula and Harry refusing to dance or sing was what kept her going the final stretch. She stopped decorating to go over to Harry, she looped her arms through his waist forcing him to step away from the bench and she tried to make him sway with her.
His body stayed still and she moved closer to the front of him, in hopes of seeing his face.
“C’mon! Dance, Grinch!”
“I don’t even dance when it isn’t Christmas, Y/n.”
She huffed arms crossing, “Please?” she asked, fluttering her eyes best of her ability in hopes of convincing him.
Harry melted at the sight. She was so cute, even Harry couldn’t say no to her. He sighed like it was the most horrible task anyone could’ve asked him and she held out her hand with a smile. He grabbed it and she raised her hand for him to twirl under and he obliged spinning even though he was much taller than her. She leaned in close to him hands landing on his hips as his landed on her shoulders in an embrace while they swayed. She sang softly, and very off-key and Harry just shook his head.
She was like a ray of sunlight, and he was like the moon. She looked up at him, “Thanks for helping,” she said softly.
“Of course….you’ve done way more for me.” He said.
She just shook her head and was about to reply but Niall cut them off.
“I gotta’ get home to Max soon.” Max was Niall’s recent boyfriend.
“Sorry, let’s get back too it.” Y/n said pulling away from Harry.
By almost 1 AM they were finished with every cookie. It was perfect. They would probably all sell out tomorrow. Y/n grabbed two handfuls one for Niall and one for Harry. She wrapped them like she would for costumers. She tied two pink ribbons and handed one to Niall.
“Thank you for all your hard work, Ni, I’ll see you Monday?” He nodded smiling in his easy going way, and pecked her cheek.
“Bye, Pet, see you Monday.” They waved him off and they heard him leave when the bell chimed.
Y/n and Harry turned the lights off and grabbed there things. Y/n put on her layers of clothes. A big red coat, her lavender scarf, and her blue beanie that had a fuzzy ball on top. She grabbed her bags and keys and they locked up the shop.
At least tomorrow both her and Harry had the day off.
The walk to the car was brisk but short, the snow had stopped now and but it was still freezing. The pair stayed close by to one another, trying to keep warm as they walked quickly to the car.
Harry started the car as fast as he could and cranked the heat and while they waited for it warm up they finally tried the few pieces of gingerbread she’d saved for them.
“Y/n this is so fucking good.” He said looking over at her. His hair was back down and he’d put on all his layers too. She smiled.
“All you, H.”
He just shook his head. “You’re the best.”
She looked over blushing. “And you’re the sweetest.”

♡ pool dive (one-shot)
✧ reader x non!idol san ✧ genre: slice of life, summer, more than friends ✧ word count: 2,4k ✧ mentions: staring at his body, kissing underwater, being close, nothing explicit
You love summer, but the current heatwave poses a challenge—there's just no way to do anything when it's this hot. San doesn't seem bothered by it at all, but as you insist it's just too hot for activities, he has quite the idea: breaking into his neighbor's house to take a dive into their pool.
note: I promise this is the last pool-related story 😅 Summer is just really intense this time around, and I sadly do not live close to the ocean as well.
Tumblr media
Didn’t everyone have them, sweet memories of summer? As a child, they were the highlight of the year, not only because of no school but also because parents were more patient, allowing their kids to stay out longer than usual. As a teenager, you and your friends would stay up until after midnight, eating popsicles and watching the nightscape of the city from your favorite place close to your high school. Your friends didn’t change at all, each still a part of your life, but as an adult, summer suddenly wasn’t what you wanted it to be.
You were in your 20s and, based on social media, you were supposed to wear great outfits, sip cocktails near a pool, and be up all night, at least on the weekends. But now all you could do was sigh loudly about the heat. It didn’t even help that you only wore shorts and an oversized shirt while staying in the cooled-down basement apartment in the Choi family’s house. Over the past few years, it had become somewhat of your escape place at any time of the year: whether escaping the heat, seeking comfort, or finding a safe place where you could act silly without the questionable glares of society.
During high school, there were nine of you altogether, best friends always roaming the streets in search of adventure during school holidays. Now it was mostly just San and you. The others lived scattered across the country, studying or busy with their working lives, even during summer. Maybe this was another reason why you found yourself here rather than trying to cool down your little apartment.
Over the past year, something started to develop between the two of you. Neither of you seemed to want to put any labels on it just yet, but there was no rejection of the positive tension building up: the fiery kisses and touches, the way San held you tightly offering a feeling of security while also giving your butt teasing squeezes. It happened here and there but it was far from something you spoke about to anyone else around and there were many times when you simply shared time together as friends. Then, both of you were content with it, something that made it easier.
You were lying head over on the couch, watching San, who was sitting on a large bean bag, reading a Haikyuu manga, seeming quite comfortable without a hint that the current heatwave was a problem for him. Your gaze admired his body. He had changed quite a bit since high school, from a kind kid to a very well-built man in his early 20s. The tank top he wore was tight enough to allow your gaze to trace the abs of his body, paying attention to his strong arms that managed to lift you up so easily these days, and the way his dark hair fell into his face, framing it perfectly.
You sighed and squeezed your eyes shut. It wouldn’t help if you got lost in that kind of daydream while feeling like you already were a mess thanks to the summer heat. San seemed to finally give up, letting out a gentle huff as he closed the manga and put it aside, looking at you with an amused smile: “If you sigh any more, I might do so too. What do we do with you, huh? I guess we won’t go out after all then. Pity, I was looking forward to going to the store and eating ice cream. Wooyoung would have complained if we sent him a photo about going there without him.”
He certainly would have, although he was currently in another city for a baseball match. You looked innocently back at San: “It’s just too hot. Once we leave your room, I am going to turn into a puddle, and you won’t ever see me again. Your friend will be nothing but a memory. You’ll go and tell everyone how I used to be so good-looking but then summer carried me away.”
San was amused by your silly story, the smile on his lips told you so easily. “Mh, that really would be awful. Not only because what would I tell our friends but I’d miss you a lot. Who else comes here to hang out and doesn’t complain about me reading my favorite series for the 100th time?” His compliment added a hint of red to your cheeks and he laughed: “But seeing you blush likely means there is hope of saving you. What options do we have? You don’t want to leave because it’s too hot but I’m afraid any activity might be too much tonight.”
You grabbed a pillow and threw it at him without hesitation, which he dodged far too elegantly. “I am just teasing! I do feel like I am not entirely wrong though, so let’s see. We could just eat ice cream here and watch a movie, but we have done this already this week and I admit, it’s a little hotter today than on Tuesday.”
He frowned, looking out of the small window that was part of the room. San and his parents were rather close. While he was away at college, his father spent a year remodeling the large basement to be an apartment of its own with a living room area, a tiny kitchen, and a small bedroom with a bathroom. For San, it was perfect and he happily remained with his family. It was one of those things you admired about him. You were being one of those kids who couldn’t wait to have a place of their own after graduation just because it seemed to be part of becoming a real adult. It didn't mean you weren't close with your family but you valued your privacy.
You were torn out of your thoughts when San snapped his fingers, grinning: “I have just the idea!” Somehow, you knew you should be alarmed by this expression but whenever this man had an idea, there was no going back, so you quietly blinked, preparing yourself.
The first sign to be alarmed had been when San started shoving towels and clean shirts into a backpack, along with two bottles of water. All you could do was watch with confusion, noting how the two of you had agreed it was just too hot outside, yet he kept insisting on leaving, saying it wouldn’t be too far. Ah yes, he knew you too well; you’d have chickened out if he had told you what exactly he had in mind when he took your hand, leading you through the garden. The sun was about to set, but it didn’t feel any cooler than a few hours earlier when you arrived.
San led you to the fence, quickly checking that nobody was looking before pushing on the old wooden pieces that gave way without a problem, allowing the two of you to slip through. The neighbors of the Choi family were a somewhat wealthy couple who had spent quite a bit of money renovating the house after inheriting it five years prior. The man was an architect, and his wife a manager of some big business, but both were quite down to earth. While you only exchanged a few polite words now and then, San seemed to get along well with them. Which did not explain why exactly the two of you were sneaking through their garden right now. San led you to the stairs that went down to the basement.
“San, what are we doing here?” you whispered like a criminal, not really able to shake off the fear of being caught. Was this illegal? Would anyone call the police on you? Ah, now watching another movie with ice cream sounded rather tempting after all. He did not seem too bothered about it, looking around, fingers slipping under one of the rocks before he pulled out a small key. “You said a proper summer includes going swimming, and since we don’t live near the sea and pools are too busy with people, we’ll just use our own.”
You blinked, staring at him as he unlocked the door and pulled you inside. “How did you know there is a key?” you kept your voice low but couldn’t shake off the tension. San gently ruffled your hair, laughing: “Stop making that face. I house-watched for them a few times. Well, not right now, but they are on a weekend trip and won’t be back until Tuesday. Dad told me they asked if he could pick up a delivery they’re expecting tomorrow, which means there’s no worry at all.”
He let go and walked over to turn on some lights. Thanks to the basement not having any windows, there was no risk of anyone outside noticing it. You blinked, your eyes needing a moment to adjust before you couldn’t help but look around in awe. The entire basement had been remodeled to be an indoor swimming pool. While the pool took up most of the space, there was also a sauna tucked into a corner, a small bar area, and a big couch. The walls and flooring were made of sandstone, giving it a cave-like feel with lights creating a perfect mood.
“This is… something else,” you admitted but then hurried to shake your head. “Still, San! We can’t just break into your neighbors’ pool to cool off a little. What if they find out?”
He dropped the backpack, laying out the towels before finally turning around to look at you. For a moment, you could see his gaze linger on your appearance, paying attention to every small detail, and when he stepped closer, you found yourself swallowing.
His strong hands cupped your face so gently, making you look right at him, and you could feel his breath as he leaned in. “It will be okay, we won’t leave a mess so they won’t know. Besides,” he grinned, “we already broke in, though I’m not sure we can call it that since we used a key I was told to use in the past. Anyway, now that we’re here, let’s make the most of it.” Before you could say anything else, his lips sealed the decision with a kiss, one you were too weak to reject.
San smiled once he was certain you’d relaxed and pulled the tank top over his head, making you swallow. His body was perfect; there was just nothing lacking. His muscles suited him perfectly, complementing rather than distracting from his face. You bit down on your lower lip as he obviously enjoyed your gaze, moving slowly to the edge of the pool. “The temperature is perfect,” he said, pushing himself in and disappearing under the surface for a moment.
You hesitated for a moment before deciding to go in just like that. San brought some spare clothes, so it seemed fine, and the heat would dry everything quickly anyway. As you dived into the water, you caught a glimpse of San. You held your breath and closed your eyes, enjoying the refreshing sensation. When you could no longer hold your breath, you surfaced, brushing wet hair out of your face.
Slowly, your sight returned and you saw San smiling, seemingly enjoying that your worries about being caught had faded. “I’d say this is a good way to spend a hot summer night,” he chuckled, slowly swimming closer to you. Your expression mirrored his and you laughed: “Fine, let’s say this isn’t too bad. Just let’s agree not to break into others’ houses again next time or else, the others will want to do it too, and I’m not sure if they can manage to be as quiet as we are to avoid getting caught.”
San thought about your words and laughed, brushing his own wet hair out of his face: “You’re right, some of them certainly couldn’t. People would hear Mingi before we even made it into the water, and Wooyoung and Jongho would challenge each other to jump in, leaving a mess.” Your friends were just like that, a little wild and reckless, but you adored them for it.
“They aren’t here now, and I have your attention all to myself,” San’s voice was suddenly a whisper as he came closer, wrapping his arms around you. Your eyes looked at him, and you wondered where the two of you would go from here eventually, but there was no need to decide or worry about it tonight. You trusted that things would fall into place naturally, just as they always did. “Quite lucky, I agree,” you joked gently.
He was now right in front of you as if he were about to kiss you. “Do you trust me?” he whispered, and you looked up, nodding without hesitation. “Always.” San seemed happy with your answer, a playful shimmer deepening in his eyes, and the way he held you closely sent shivers down your spine. “Take a deep breath,” he requested, and so you did.
As he leaned in, you felt the anticipation build, your breaths mingling, then San pulled you underwater, your lips meeting in a proper kiss, one that was deep and longing yet playful as the cool water of the pool enveloped you both. It was like a scene from a summer movie coming true. The sensation was both electrifying and calming, familiar yet excitingly new. You closed your eyes, trusting him completely and savoring the connection you both shared. Time seemed to stop, and while you knew it couldn’t have been more than a minute when you both surfaced, it felt endless.
You exhaled and inhaled, San smiling, doing the same but without letting you go, gently moving the two of you to the edge of the pool and placing you on it so you could relax a little. “I hope this fulfills your wish for a summer just like in the movies,” he teased, his hands playing gently with yours.
“I think I like this version better,” you smiled as you looked at him. Both of you were content just like that, and maybe that was why this felt right. A part of you suddenly wished that this summer wouldn’t pass too quickly; even the heatwave seemed bearable now.
“Hey, want to go for another round?” you suddenly asked with a grin. San blinked, surprised before laughing: “A little practice wouldn’t be bad to improve it.”
Without hesitation, you slipped back into the water and right into his arms.

Spending the night with Lilia Vanrouge
Tags: Lilia Vanrouge x gn!reader, fluff, long-haired Lilia, yokai!Lilia, historical au, reader gets
A/N: I made this while waiting for the rain to stop. Like please stop now, I'm sooo hungry. Kinda regret not going out earlier. Welp- it's already noon, so I used some of my stacked noodles. Also, I was listening to Renegade over and over again while writing this lol, it help with my writer's block especially the part where I had to describe Lilia lol. Yes, there's some secret meaning in some parts here cuz why not
Your school has been demanding all your attention to be poured in your studies. Hence, you weren't able to visit you lover that was living deep in the mountains. You hunch over your desk after reading a ton of books. It was already midnight, and you were sure that if Lilia was here, he would have already lightly scolded you for staying up late. You stop working on your desk, and neatly arrange your school materials. Grabbing the lamp you have; you place it not too far from your futon. After all that work, you slip inside your futon and fell asleep.
The next day, while you were in school and about to leave, you saw a glimpse of Silver and Sebek who was also studying there. As usual, the two were having a one-sided banter. You walk towards them but was blocked by students who were also about to leave. You sighed defeatedly when you don't see them anywhere after trying to force yourself out of the crowd. You wanted to ask them about Lilia. You made up your mind; You were going to visit him tomorrow. It was weekend anyway, and the school schedule only lasts up until the weekdays. You were also studying for hours this past few weeks, and you were not like Riddle who enjoys doing it all day. You were going to spend the day tomorrow with Lilia, and also take a break from your studies. You were hitting two birds with one stone.
Before you head out mountains, you patted the head of the yokai you were living with. Grim merely rolled away from you but still not waking up. You softly laugh before shaking your adorable friend.
"Grim, wake up. If you do, I'll buy you a can of tuna this morning when I pass by the market." And as you expected, all it takes to bring Grim out of his bed was bribing him a can of tuna. The stock of food in the house was also running out, and you just can't bear the thought of leaving him alone in the house and then having to handle the mess he will make in the kitchen when you come back.
When you went outside, you carried Grim like he was some pet cat. Your left hand was occupied by a bamboo basket. You bought some berries and nuts, along with cans of tuna as you promise Grim earlier. Since you haven't had breakfast yet, you thought why not come by Epel's place. You walk away from the busy marketplace and entered a bakery. Immediately the scent of apples filled your nostrils. Delicious deserts made with apples were decorating the place. Epel was in the counter talking with Ace and Deuce in a seat near him. The sound of chimes hitting each other attached on the door, alerted the three people inside.
"Y/N!" Ace called you loudly. You took the vacant seat in front of them. "Did you come here for breakfast too?" Deuce asks you while taking a bite of his omelet. You nod.
"Good morning, Y/N. What would you like?" You gave Epel your order alongside with Grim. As what happens every day, the Adeuce duo somehow never fail to have a squabble.
"I'm not going!" Deuce protested against Ace.
"It's just some rumors. Don't tell me our juice is scared to come to the woods at night, because of it," Ace plasters his signature smirk at Deuce, while the blue head just glares at him. This piqued my interest.
"Rumors?"
"You don't know?" Deuce looks at you.
"Obviously. Why would they be asking?" Ace pipes in much to Deuce frustrations. Epel sighed at the duo and took over the conversation.
"You see Y/N, recently there's been whispers of a creature lingering in the woods who extinguishes any ignited light. All they see is an unseen silhouette, and then darkness." You turn your head slightly at his explanation.
"Myahh?!" If anything, you were more scared of Grim's sudden outburst...
Ace groans when he heard that. "It's pretty windy up there. It could just be the wind. That shadow, whatever it was, was probably just for dramatic effect."
"But, Y/N you're going to the mountain, right?" You almost laugh at Grim worried expression.
"You should be careful, Y/N." You nod at Deuce.
"Don't worry guys, I won't stay that late. I'll be back before sunset."
______
With a bamboo basket filled with berries and nuts, you trudge through the forest's thick foliage. You strayed the trail after reaching a place filled with vines. After a few minutes, you finally saw the cottage you were looking for, but the man you want to see was not there. As you were just about to call out and walk towards it, you notice thick strands of hair, much longer than yours taking purchase upon your shoulder.
"What do we have here?" You were suddenly aware by a presence as soft as melody. Before you could turn around, a finger reaches out from behind to catch your chin and spun you around. You were met face to face with Lilia. His face was uncomfortably close it made your heart ran erratic. His ruby red eyes that were looking through mine felt like it was holding the cosmos inside them.
When he started to inch his face closer to yours, you felt inclined to close your eyes. Suddenly, his finger disappears at your chin. A laughter that sounds like a bubbling brook then follows. "Someone has a mind that dances with the clouds."
You suddenly had the urged to bury yourself six feet because of this suave Nobusuma. You were just about to compose yourself when he drops himself to the ground and reach for your hand that wasn't occupied by the basket and kissed it. He looks at you teasingly. His eyes held the allure of a siren's call, like it was going to enchant and ensnares you with an irresistible allure.
While you were distracted, Lilia grabs the basket out of your hand and took a piece of its content. He greedily munches on the berry, its residue leaving a light tint of red on his lips. "I accept your offering after abandoning me for a long time, my enchanted rose."
"Stop making me the bad guy here Lilia," you sighed, finally out of your flustered state. "Where's Silver anyway?" he playfully plastered a frown on his lips, making him look like a puppy that was just kicked.
"I can't believe this; I just got betrayed by the closest to me. Poor me."
Safe to say, you spend the rest of the day trying to comfort his crocodile tears.
-----
It was already the golden hour, but you still weren't back in your place. You just couldn't bear to move and wake the sleeping Nobusuma in your lap. You gently touch the silk fabric of his black kimono. You traced the hand-painted crane design with the tips of your fingers, until you too fell asleep. When you woke up, a warmth and an aroma of a Chrysanthemum envelops you. You suddenly scramble up, escaping from Lilia's embrace.
"Oh no! It's already dark! I have to get back to Grim."
"Venturing the mountains at dark is filled with peril. It would be wise to stay here," he stopped me when I was just about to leave.
"But..."
Suddenly, his face morphs into a grin. "Don't worry, I won't do anything with you."
"I wasn't thinking about that!"
"Not yet atleast," his eyes glints with mischief.
-----
Bonus:
Lilia: If that doesn't convince you, I heard from human travelers-
Y/N: I know it was you, Lilia.
Lilia: *smiles innocently*
-----
Not sure about this, but let me add it.
Black kimono made of silk: represents a wealthy or high status
Crane design: Revered for their supposed thousand-year lifespan
Enchanted Rose: I dunno why I pick rose, but since he is a yokai and a fae in cannon I added enchanted. And reader's pretty enchanted with Lilia in this fic (I tried-)
Chrysanthemum: Often use as a symbol for immortality
Mind that dances with the clouds: a person who is a dreamer, or has thoughts that is beyond ordinary
okay- im done. You guys interpret the rest

Jockifacation
Tumblr media
Being one of the smartest nerds in school sometimes had it perks, I mean sure most of the nerds got bullied and treated like shit by a lot of the school, especially the sports teams, but there were a few of us that were able to escape from the public humiliation that comes with being a nerd
Us top tier nerds, as I like to call us, we’re the ones that the Dean had picked to help tutor some of the more important students, like the ones who parents had made large Contributions, and the sports team, that all he really cared about, the people that really mattered.
As usual, the dean gave us nerds a heads up that a pop quiz was coming in some of the different classes we all shared with the assigned person that we’re in charge of making sure pass
The guy I was in charge of was one of the basketball players, his name was jake
He wasn’t the dumbest jock in the school, and thank god for that, I feel bad for the guy that had Brad, bro might have retard strength but also the intelligence of one.
atleast I can work with jake, might be annoying with his slow ability to grasp concepts and the constant side stories about the team, his latest conquest, how All this school work is pointless cause he’s gonna be a professional some day… etc
Jake was from a small red neck town and Texas and you could tell, he kinda stood out here in California with his accent and very little understanding of basic algebra, I guess they didn’t teach that were he’s from
it was probably around midnight when I finally got him to remember and be able to apply The Quadratic Formula, now Hopfully he can maintain it for 12 hours
“Aye bro thanks for helping me out with all this math shit, if you ever need anything partner just let me know” he said getting up to stretch
I got up to stretch too and crack my back
“I mean not unless you can make it so I don’t have to stay up late night tutoring members of the team because the dean demands it haha” i said laughing and smiling a sleepy smile at him
“Shiiiiit cuz, I got you just put this hat on” he said taking his hat off and handing it to me
“I mean thanks for the symbolic gesture but I don’t think a hat will do much” i said staring at it in my hands
“Just put it on bro, and you’ll be a part of the team” he said reaching over to guide it and place it on my head
“So is that it? Am I part of the team now haha?”
“Nah bruh, you gotta turn it backwards to start the uh, process”
“Start what process? some sort of initiati-“
I said as I felt it start
“Initiation? initially? Initials? No bro, initiation, god dam I had a brain fart for a minute there bruh haha…” I said stumbling on my words
“Bro? Bruh? What’s happening I don’t use those words!?” I thought to myself as my eyes started to glaze over
“There you go cuz, it’s starting, don’t worry, you should be a full fledged member in a few minutes, then you’ll never have to worry about tutoring again haha, the process kills quite a bit of brain cells” he said sitting back down smiling as he slowly closed his eyes
I tried to get up and take the hat off but I could barely move as I felt my mind weakening and my body was in too much pain as it reshaped it’s self to move
I could feel my thoughts get slower as my body changed more and more
“Mhmmmm b-b-bro h-help” I was able to mumble out, able to hear my voice getting lower
“Just let it take its course” Jake said not budging
My long shaggy hair got shorter and receded back into my scalp until it was short enough to fit inside the cap
My acne disappeared until my face was smooth and I could feel my face reorganizing itself, wholes appearing in my ears for some new giant fake earrings
Next was my sweatshirt I wore to hide my skinny frame dissolved into my skin as it looked like I gained 25 pounds of muscles as my arms became swole and my chest became hard with 6 pack abs from years of working out
“No that’s not right, I never spent years working out, going to the gym, I read books all the time and prepared for tests, played dnd with my nerd friends”
“Nerd friends? I don’t have those, I might skip leg day and not be on any teams but they always considered me a honorary member right?”
Next most of my jeans dissolved into my legs as my calf’s gain muscles from practicing in the gym and on the court with my fellow team mates
“Nah bruh, something about this isn’t right bro” I said standing up suddenly realizing I can move again
“But uh bruh I can’t remember what” I said taking the cap off to scratch my head
Jake looked over and jumped up looking concerned and walked over grabbing the cap
“It’s fine bro, we was just getting ready to go to a party, but the bitch hosting it sent out a text saying not to come for another hour, there was an issue getting the alcohol, we all know how much you like to drink cuz haha”
“Oh ok” I said setting down on the couch… some small part of me was screaming not to wear the cap but it was kinda stupid cause let’s be honest, I look hot wearing this cap
I put the cap back on and closed my eyes for a few seconds
I hadn’t noticed how weird I looked since my jeans weren’t exactly gone but were now Jean shorts
Didn’t matter tho cause my jeans morphed into some white shorts with a red strip to match my cap, right after that my underwear morphed into some tight American eagle pair as I felt my dick grow from 2 inches soft, to 4 soft.
“I can’t wait to go the party ima fuck so many bitches tonight” I thought to myself giggling like a dummy
Wait that isn’t right? I don’t get any bitches on my dick, no one wants to be with a small dick nerd, a 4 inch hard on is pathetic.
“Man what was that thought? I’m not a nerd! I’m a fucking jock bruh! And 4 inches being pathetic? Maybe hard, but that’s me just soft, I’m atleast 6 inches hard. never really cared to measure, chicks always seemed to love it when I fucked them, and if they think I’m small, their just fucking loose pussy bitches!” I thought to myself as I started getting hard pitching a tent
I opened my eyes to see Jake smiling at me
“Wtf you looking at bro? You gay or someshit? I mean that’s fine but just don’t try no shit with me bro” I said mean mugging him
“Nah bro, looks like you got some business to take care of, I’ll uh, be in the bathroom for a bit cuz” Jake said getting up to go to the bathroom
A small voice in my head was telling me something’s wrong, take the cap off, who wears hats inside?
But I decided there was something more pressing, and it’s in my pants
I pulled my shorts down to see my dick straining against my underwear, I pulled them down to let my dick flap out
I grabbed it to feel emence pleasure
I could feel something inside of me traveling down to my balls but I didn’t care, the pleasures were to much, felt like I’ve never jerked off before…
It only took me a few minutes for me to cum my brains out, figuratively and literally unbeknownst to my new jock brain, losing what little remains of my nerd personality, and 55 iq points, taking me down from 145 to 90.
“Fuck bro that felt great haha, i don’t know why I came so fast, must just be a fluke or something” I said to myself
Just then jake walked back outside
“Ya that happens to everyone at first when they go though the process of becoming a jock” he said smirking
“What you mean becoming a jock? I’ve always been one dude” I said a bit offended he didn’t think I’m a jock, I’ve hung out with jake for years now!
“Bro, we’re are we right now?!” Jake said throwing his hands up and looking around dramatically
“Uh my room” i said
“Ya and look at it, it’s a room for a nerd” he said looking at me with a look of annoyance on his face.
“Oh god, your right, I gotta change this shit bro, babes aren’t gonna find this attractive” i said looking horrified of my nerdy room
“Dam straight cuz, it’s ok, you just went from a nerd to a jock boy after all haha, it’s to be expected, especially with memory loss of your old life” he said with a smile on his face
“Now let’s go to a late night party” he said walking towards me throwing a arm around my shoulder and walking us towards the door
“Wait, so you’re saying I use to be a nerd? Ew what the fuck bro… is there anyway that I’m gonna turn back into a faggy ass nerd?” I said concerned
“Nah bruh, once you cum after the transformation it’s permanent, your one of us now dude, I hope you like it haha” he said laughing
“Ya I don’t really remember being a nerd but I bet that shit sucked ass compared to being a jock that can pull bitches haha, and good, I wouldn’t ever wanna go back despite what that voice in my head was crying about” i said laughing
“Oh that voice? Don’t worry about it, just like your chance to go back to your old life, it disappeared when you cummed” he said laughing smacking me on the back

would you maybe do ❝  you’re the only thing that matters anymore.  i can’t eat,  i can’t sleep—  all the goddamn cliches from every stupid movie and song.  you’re all i think about.  i’m useless except when i’m yours.  ❞ with Steve?? Seems very much like a Steve thing to say with a grand romantic gesture maybe 💕
ahhh i definitely agree, this is absolutely a steve thing to say and i hope the romantic gesture is grand enough!! 💕
...
Thunk.
You’re not quite sure what that sound is or where it’s coming from. You look up from your book, one you had been completely engrossed in for the last few hours, but when you don’t see anything moving or notice anything that’s fallen off your bed, you go back to it. You get about half a page of reading in before it comes again.
Thunk. Thunk. Thunk.
You put your bookmark between the pages and close your book before you get up off your bed to search for the sound. It keeps coming, and you realize it’s coming from your window. With all the weird happenings in Hawkins you’re more than a bit wary, because you’ll be damned if you’re going to end up monster food for whatever weird creature of the week is showing up now, so you grab the biggest, heaviest book you own to protect yourself before walking towards your window. You’ve hit someone with it before, completely accidentally, and knew it would be an excellent way to bludgeon something that might attack you.
Except it’s not some weird monster, or a Russian soldier, or even a government goon. No, standing on your lawn at nearly ten o’clock at night, is none other than Steve Harrington. Who’s really the last person you’re expecting to see right now, and the reason you’re spending your Friday night at home with a book.
Okay, well, you can’t put all the blame on him; most of it you put on yourself and the stupid crush you’ve been harbouring on him since you’d made the stupidly wonderful decision to go to Scoops Ahoy last summer, before Starcourt Mall burned down. Unfortunately, as you’d gotten to know Steve and become friends, that stupid crush had only gotten bigger and harder to contain. And when he’d been working in the mall, scooping ice cream with Robin and taking time to chat with you when you stayed way past your break time, he hadn’t been having any luck getting dates—something you were happy about. You felt bad being happy, yes, but him striking out meant you could spend more time with him (and Robin, lovely Robin, who’d very quickly become a staple in your life along with Steve).
But since leaving Scoops Ahoy and starting work at Family Video, Steve’s game had apparently done a 180 and now? Dates all the time, with all the very pretty girls who you’d gone to school with. Never more than once with the same girl, but Steve’s got his groove back and it aches a little, seeing him so excited every time he has a date. But you’re his friend, of course you are, so you push down your own feelings to smile and laugh and encourage him, just the same as Robin and Dustin and the others do, though it’s been getting harder and harder to do lately.
So you’ve been slowly pulling away; you find yourself visiting Family Video far less frequently, usually when Steve isn’t there. You find reasons to skip on group movie nights or hang outs at the Harrington house, and start keeping more to yourself. It’s just until you get over this stupid crush, you tell yourself, and you even tell Robin one night, when you’re on the phone well past midnight and she manages to drag your reasoning for skipping on an outing to Indianapolis with her and Steve.
You’d thought Steve hadn’t noticed. But obviously he had, because here he is. So you put the big book down on your desk before you unlock your window and open it.
A rock goes whizzing by your face, barely missing your cheek, which you were not expecting. You yelp, and that catches Steve’s attention.
“Shit! Sorry! Did I get you?” he yells up at you and you lean out the window to shake your head where he can see you.
“What are you doing here, Steve?” you ask, resting your hands on the window sill so you can lean out a little farther. You can see him shuffling from foot to foot, a big silver boombox resting by his feet. One of his hands is constantly running through his hair, a nervous habit you know he has. His BMW is parked at the end of your driveway.
“I have something I gotta tell you,” he calls up, gesturing with the hand not in his hair. You feel your stomach twist in your abdomen; is he here to break off your friendship? Maybe he knows about your crush and he’s finally had enough. What other reason would he have to be here right now? He probably just finished a date with his latest girl—Heidi? Lauren? You couldn’t remember and honestly, you didn’t want to. Especially not if it was someone Steve was choosing over you. Not that you’d blame him, but still.
“Steve, really, you don’t have to say anything.” Because it’ll hurt more to hear you tell me it’s over before it even began, you want to say. But you don’t. You start to head back in through your window, but Steve shouts and stops you before you can get back in.
“Wait! I do have to say it, because I can’t stand that we haven’t been as close lately. It’s killing me and I can’t keep going like this.” You’re silent, watching him move closer to your house, grabbing the boombox to hold up to his chest. “You’re the only thing that matters anymore. I can’t eat, I can't sleep—all the goddamn cliches from every stupid movie and song. You’re all I think about. I'm useless except when I'm yours.”
Holy shit.
That is definitely not what you’re expecting him to say, and one hand comes up to cover your mouth because that was actually the sweetest thing you think you’ve ever heard him say to you.
That’s when he starts fiddling around with the buttons on the boombox until he gets it to do what he wants, and he cranks the volume dial all the way up before he holds it up over his head. It takes a second before you hear the opening bars of Careless Whisper start to play. He starts swaying back and forth, boombox held high, and god you feel yourself falling even harder because Steve is here, doing this for you, after telling you something that sounds like it would be straight out of one of the romance novels on your shelf.
You get to enjoy the sight in front of you for about a minute before you notice a light turn on and start shining from the house next door.
“Turn the goddamn music down!” You hear your neighbour, old man Mitchell, yell from the vicinity of his yard. It ruins the moment, just a bit, and you can’t help the laughter that bubbles up as Steve nearly drops the boombox on his feet in his rush to turn it off.
“Sorry!” Steve yells back, and you laugh louder. Steve laughs too, the sound floating up to your window, and you can’t help the smile on your face.
You wave your hand at Steve, gesturing for him to come inside, and even from your window you can see the way his entire face blossoms into a wide grin as he lowers the boombox and makes his way towards your front door.
Steve wants to be yours. And you want to be his. And when you unlock the front door and pull Steve in for a big kiss, you press play on the boombox so the two of you can dance to George Michael’s unbearably cheesy song in your living room while you tell each other how you feel.

Heyyy just stumbled on your account while looking through the Spencer tag and since your requests are open, could you write a blurb or one shot about Spencer trying to get fem!reader to come to bed because she’s been up all night studying and he’s worried and just wants to take care of her? (She’s in graduate school or something like that) definitely feel free to make it fluffy or even smutty if you want
Here you go <33.
------
Spencer has always admired your work ethic.
You’re dedicated to everything you set your mind to, no matter how small the task. He finds it admirable how hard you work towards what you want, how driven you are to achieve your goals.
The problem is, sometimes, you don’t know when to stop.
The last few weeks have been one of those times. You haven’t been sleeping, it’s obvious with the dark circles under your eyes and the way you’ve slowed down. When he’s home, he can usually coax you into bed somewhere before the early morning, but he’d been away on a case for the last week and a half. When he got home, you didn’t look well, but you insisted you were fine, and he reluctantly let you off the hook after you distracted him with a few sweet kisses.
After dinner — throughout which he had to keep you thoroughly distracted lest you run off without finishing your food — you decided to sit down and get some studying done, which was fine with him until your alarm went off — signalling that it was time to either take a break or go to bed — and you just kept on working.
It’s nearly midnight now, and he’s thoroughly concerned as he watches you from his place in the doorway to your shared office. He’s been standing there for the past fifteen minutes and you haven’t even noticed him, staring blankly at your computer screen with tired eyes.
“Hey.” You startle rather violently at the sound of his voice, whipping around to face him so quickly he worries you might accidentally wrench your neck, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“S’okay.” Your voice is a little gravelly from disuse as you rub at your eyes, turning back to face your laptop.
He sighs as he comes to stand behind you, sliding his arms down and around your chest as he trails a few sweet kisses from your cheek down the side of your neck. You sigh and lean back in your chair, softening like butter in the sun as you let your head fall back against his shoulder and cover the back of his hand with yours lazily.
“I know what you’re doing.” You hum, and he can just barely hear the teasing undertone in your inflection underneath the exhaustion.
“I’m not doing anything.” He smiles guiltily against your skin, and you snort at him.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He nuzzles at the side of your throat before leaving an open mouthed kiss there, drawing a delightful little sigh from your lungs as you reach back to lace your hand in his hair. He peppers a few more kisses over your neck, before whispering against your collarbone, “Come to bed.”
You sigh again, this one heavy with fatigue. He can almost hear the words on the tip of your tongue before you say them, “I can’t yet. I've still got so much to do.”
“It can wait.”
“No, it ca–.” “It can wait.” He repeats, reaching forwards to close the lid of your laptop after making sure your work has been saved. He spins the chair around, standing between your legs as he cradles your face between his palms. He brushes his thumbs over the discoloured skin beneath your eyes, and it hurts him a little knowing you’ve been putting your work above yourself for so long. He frowns, looking a little sombre as he says, “You look so tired, baby.”
“I am.” You murmur, eyes closing as you slump forward to rest your forehead against his stomach, hands finding the backs of his knees just because you need to be touching him right now. He cradles the base of your skull with one hand and strokes your hair lovingly with the other, letting you stay there for a few moments before whispering, “Come to bed.”
You nod and slide your hands up to wrap your arms around his lower back, squeezing him tightly before tilting your head back to look at him, chin resting on his stomach as you tease, “You’re very persuasive, you know that?”
He laughs, grinning as he pulls you away a little more and bends at the waist to press his lips to yours. The kiss is slow and sweet, and he gets so lost in you that he doesn’t mind the fact that you taste a little of stale coffee.
You nip at his bottom lip and he hums, smiling against you, “You’re trying to,” He dips back in for a moment, “Distract me again.”
“Maybe.” You grin, hands settling on his hips as you kiss him once more, “S’it working?”
“Maybe a little.” He admits before pulling away to rise to his full height, practically towering over you from your spot in your chair as he holds his hands out to you, “Come on.”
“Fine.” You sigh dramatically, rolling your eyes playfully as you take his hands and allow him to pull you up to stand.
He leads you to the bedroom, pecking you on the cheek before you make your way to the bathroom to brush your teeth. When you emerge, he’s pulled out a pair of PJ’s — A pair of your sleep shorts and one of his old t-shirts — and placed them on the end of the bed for you. You thank him, and it isn’t long before you’re snuggled up under the covers with him, slotted right up against his side with a leg thrown over his hips.
He’s about to drift off when you whisper, “Hey, Spence?”
He hums, rubbing at your arm so you know he’s really listening.
“Thank you.”
He leans forward a little to kiss the top of your head before smiling drowsily, “‘Course, baby. S’what I’m here for.”
You squeeze his waist briefly, and in a few minutes, your breathing evens out, and he can sleep well knowing you’re finally getting the rest you deserve.

sorry for any translation errors, english is not my first language
Tumblr media
You woke up at 6:00 a.m. sharp as usual. I did this every day even on weekends so as not to lose the habit. Soon went to the bathroom to do his facial skin cleanse followed by 30 minutes of elliptical bike. a relaxing shower to soon after get dressed. a black blouse, jeans and white sneakers. you went downstairs quickly and ate breakfast.
Punctually at 8:00 a.m. you was at school, ready for another day that was already promptly scheduled; First class in history, Biology, Physics II and Mathematics. Then about 10 minutes to clear yourself of the likely scratch cards that were yet to come from Wanda, Valkyrie, Sam or Bucky. Then would perform his solo at the club leaving everyone else dumbfounded and dying of envy of his talent. Not to forget, of course, Mrs. Miller who would try to ruin his life. And later after school would go home to Vision to help him with his subjects which he was still struggling.
Vision left his girlfriend's house before the sun came up. Wanda's parents liked her boyfriend, but didn't find it at all pleasant for the boy to enjoy the moment. Since they had to spend the night out for work reasons.
Natalya and Erik worked together because they were two successful entrepreneurs. They had to always be traveling to conferences, meetings, outreaches, and partnerships with other companies. The trips were sometimes to cities closer but also distant, requiring them to stay up to four days away. That was one thing Wanda and vision had in common: the absence of her parents.
But Mrs. Agnes was the one who rescued the girl's parents. A very nice lady who bordered on 70 years old, gray hair and expressive blue eyes.
Wanda had her as a grandmother, or rather a second mother.
The lady who lived alone, despite having a granddaughter who lived in New York with her father, had been caring for Wanda since the frauds. She had a huge affection for the girl that only tended to increase.
Her house was close by, next to her own. To be sure. In her room, the girl was near the window that facilitated communication between them without having to go to the other's house.
- Banana and... Bacon? - asked moving closer to his bedroom window.
The woman nodded with her infectious smile as she stirred the pot.
- Are you coming for coffee or need a formal invitation? - Agnes asked, raising her gaze.
Wanda didn't think twice about running to her grandmother's house. she would never turn down bananas and a good bacon.
(...)
- Your clothes... I don't know what classification to put them in. - She said, as she analyzed you from head to toe.You just rolled your eyes.
- Y/N, l mean it... I've offered you a redesign but I don't know why it costs to refuse... Look at me. - Took a turn for you to analyze the look. - I'm from Celine today. - she said with a proud smile referring to the brand of your clothing as you looked at it as if it had three heads.
- Get out of the way, freak. - Insulted Bucky followed by a scratch card by one of his friends.
-Thug! - she let go as he took a deep breath covered by the newly scratched card.
- I think your Celine outfit is a lot better now. - You can't help it, trying your best to hold back the laughter.
Natasha ignored it.
"My eyes are burning," she paused for a moment and went back to talking still static. - My clothes will stain and my hair that took me hours to tidy up... And now see how it is! - She let out a scream tapping her foot angrily.
-Comes... Let's go to the bathroom. I help you.
(...)
It was exactly 7:30 p.m. when you arrived at the vision house. The boy opened the door and made a funny grimace.
- Punctual, huh? - Smiled letting you walk past him.
- As always. - she added and smiled when saw his mother in sight there.
- Good evening, Mrs. Stark.
- Hey, good night, Y/n! - Smiled friendly at the girl. - I already told you it's just pepper. Without that Mrs.
you blushed in agreement.
"Son, I'm going to have to be on call again today. It was an unforeseen event, Patricia asked me to replace her and I could not deny it... But I've already prepared dinner. - Argued for vision while fiddling with something inside the bag.
The boy sighed shaking his head in agreement.
- Feel at home, honey. - she said goodbye to the two of them by placing a kiss on each other's foreheads. Already near the door she looks at the vision and smiles.
- Mom Loves You.
Vision just gave a half smile listening to the door of the house closing.
- You should tell her. - You filled the silence that had become.
- Say what?
- Vision... Don't make a fool of yourself. To say that you miss her, her company. Saying you wanted her to spend more time with you. Who loves her!
- I don't know what you're talking about. - He tried to disguise himself while looking at the ground.
-Let's go... Stop. I know you very well. - Got close to him stroking the boy's arm.
"I'm your soul sister, remember?" I know you like the back of my hand.
"So let's go, my soul sister, take my math questions because I'm completely lost. Since the teacher arrives saying "Good morning, class!" I get lost. - he tried to change the subject by making her friend laugh.
He led you into the living room where there were several books on the table.
"And there we go," - you whispered.
(...)
The night quickly followed. You tried to help him with all the doubts without realizing that the hours were passing. He looked at the time on his cell phone and almost had a heart attack when he realized it was 11:27 p.m.
- My parents must already be worried, I have to go.
- Yes, of course. I accompany you. - He said already getting up and screwing up his whole body making a grimace appear on his face when he heard several streaks that to you, were agonizing.
- No need. I'm walking and it's not even that far, just a few blocks...
- I'm not crazy about letting you go alone, especially at this time. Not even thinking. - Grabbed his coat that was on the couch and put it on.
"Okay," rolled his eyes. - I'd really be scared to death of going it alone.
-I know. I know you like the back of my hand. - Smiled repeating the same phrase she had used hours ago.
(...)
It was cold and You ran his hands over his arms to try and warm himself in vain. When he realized it, he instantly took off his coat and gave it to you, who smiled thankfully. You both traced the path by talking about trivial things without being able to avoid spontaneous laughter until you stood on your feet staring at something. The boy frowned looking at you and followed gaze. There was a fountain with a large gray statue in the center, very beautiful. you who adorned that huge almost empty square. had never noticed that source there, so you assumed it had been placed recently. Without holding back, they came closer, exploring her.
They just watched her for a while until her voice broke the silence.
- Vision... Why are you with wanda? I swear I don't understand. - It's been a while since you've wanted to ask that.
-Why not? I like it, simple. - Said friendly.
- I honestly don't understand how anyone can like wanda maximoff. She's so... urg. - He shook his head in disgust.
- You say that because you don't really know her. -Retorted. You snorted looking at him.
- I also don't understand how I can be friends with Sam and Bucky's idiots. They're disgusting!
- I'm not friends with them! We're just teammates on the same football team and that's it. You don't see me talking to them, do you? - He shrugged. - And it wouldn't go down well either, since they threw scratch cards in my face when I was a rookie.
- You said it. - Retorted sarcastically
- I don't know what you're complaining about so much, Y/n. Your life is perfect! - you laughed incredulously hearing that.
- No kidding, right, Stark.
- i'm serious. You are decisive, you don't care what others think of you. You know where you came from, where you're going, you have two parents who love you and who will always be by your side. you has an amazing voice for just a seventeen-year-old girl. you has a bright future as a singer, always knew what you wanted and fights to achieve it tooth and nail... And me. He looked at himself letting out a nosey laugh. - I'm a guy who has no idea what he's going to do after high school, I don't know where I'm going... What good is this 'popularity' now, if in a few years it will be worth nothing?
- What are you talking about? - She asked incredulously. - My life sucks! Everyone sees me as a loser and deep down I really feel that way. I'm not as determined as you think, I try to show myself like this to camouflage my insecurities and not feel like garbage like everyone makes me feel. You are the Quarterback of the team, handsome, popular, all the girls die of love for you. Date the most beautiful and popular girl there, everyone loves you there and... - You rambled and Vision rolled his eyes.
- that's enough!. - He snorted, interrupting his speech. - Don't fuck, Y/n...
- Your life that's perfect here! - You finished by tapping your foot.
- It's yours. -Insisted.
They began a discussion about the perfect life monologue between them. you turned your back on him crossing your arms with a frown ending the argument, Vision did the same. Their breaths were flawed from the debate. They stayed like that for a few seconds, not knowing each other's next move, they both turned forward screaming together:
- I wish I had your life! - They shouted in coincidence, actually ending the discussion.
The pole light flashed instantly and shattered startling you who took a step back. All the lights in the square began to flicker as they broke soon after, leaving the two of them staring at each other in the total darkness of the night.
(...)
you woke up early, at the usual time, slowly opening your eyes, still sleepy you headed for the bathroom when you stopped on your way looking at the bedroom.
What the hell am I doing in the vision's house? -you thought out loud looking around recognizing he friend's room.
- I remember going home and... - Murmured thoughtfully to herself. - Oh, shit! My parents are going to kill me... Sleeping here unannounced, they'll have the marine guard after me by now! - You raised your voice.
- You frowned. - Damn, I've gone hoarse. - This time you whispered, and choked, noticing that your voice was thick.
You didn't think twice and left the room, stunned and sleepy. You went down the stairs looking for the exit, you had to leave urgently and you would get out of there without waking anyone.
It was then that her reflection caught her attention in the mirror that adorned the wall in the large room. you frowned more and took a few steps back. The first thing she did was to widen her eyes, petrified, and cautiously observe if what her eyes stubbornly showed her was just a dream.
Slowly you moved hands up to his face, feeling it, now was sure that this was not a dream? It was a nightmare! You opened your mouth in horror and began to scream sterilely. Your eyes were still on the mirror that showed you the reflection of your friend Vision.
You screamed, screaming louder and louder.
- Son, what happened? Are you okay? - Questioned Pepper, newly awakened by the screaming, walking down the stairs in her pajamas, almost tripping over her own feet, totally frightened.you still had your eyes wide open. you didn't answer, just stared at your reflection in the mirror.- Son? Why are you screaming?
- she approached me, evidently concerned, touching the shoulder that was supposed to be your son. There were no answers to your questions.
- This can't be happening? - you hissed almost inaudibly. Hearing that thick voice, which was not her own, made her even more terrified. - If I'm here then vision is... - you whispered thoughtfully, and without finishing reasoning, walked quickly to the door with quick steps. you just didn't expect to fall. you wasn't used to those long legs.
you stood up again, grabbing the first pair of pants saw on the way. pepper stared at the scene in confusion.
- Where do you think you're going at this hour? - The woman asked as she saw him open the door.
- Don't worry, Mrs. Pepper, everything is fine! - you replied at last unconvincingly, his voice shaking terribly. you tried to calm himself by walking out the door, leaving the stunned and even more confused woman in the middle of the room.
- Mrs. Pepper? - she murmured confused.
(...)
every evening after dinner, scott and hope would sit in the living room in front of the fireplace and talk about banal things, accompanied by a good wine, which always made them go to bed later, which resulted in: they always woke up later the next morning.
you always reproached them for this. always saying that we should all get at least eight hours of sleep. But today you were grateful for that. You entered the house very easily with the extra keys that your parents left hidden in one of the flower pots in the garden.
she closed the door, trying not to make a sound. Her parents were completely unconscious on the living room floor. She walked cautiously up the stairs on her new long legs. If they woke up, she would be dead because she had been caught in the act. After all, what was the boy doing there at that time? She arrived in front of her door and began to knock, trying to make as little noise as possible.
- vision, open this door. - She whispered and knocked again.
You cursed yourself for always sleeping with the bedroom door locked, since you liked privacy, but at this moment you really wanted to break the damn door down and you were sure you could.
- Vision… Damn it, vision, wake up! - You increased the frequency of your knocking, realizing that you wouldn't wake the other one up.
The boy frowned, his eyes still closed.
- Y/n? - he asked lazily, still getting out of bed.
- Open the damn door! - Despair was already taking over his body when he heard a pair of footsteps downstairs.
- What are you doing here? - He didn't finish his sentence after opening his eyes and observing the place.
- Hey… What am I doing in your room?
- Vision, will you please open this fucking door?! - I was getting more and more nervous, impatient, scared, and afraid of what was going to happen behind that door.
- Hey, calm down, I'll be right there… - He speech died after opening the wooden door, now the two were face to face looking at each other in terror.
- You… but I… what?
Vision couldn't formulate a sentence so he limited himself to screaming. you entered, locking the door behind you and covering the boy's mouth to stop the screaming.
- Damn it, don't scream. You'll get my parents' attention! - you whispered.
- Will you be quiet? - vision shook his head frantically.
- W-what happened? - He managed to speak in a stutter, his eyes opening wider and wider as if it were still possible.
- I don't know. I have no idea, when I woke up I was like this. - She spoke quickly, apprehensive, looking at her body.
- If you are me and I am you, then… - He looked stunned at his new body and his eyes widened. - damn y/n… I HAVE BREASTS! - The boy shouted hysterically, running his hands over his body.
You, who hadn't stopped to notice this derealization, turned red, and became hysterical again.
- Oh, holy shit, I have too much volume between my legs.
Unlike Vision, you didn't dare to put your hand on the new body, you just looked down and even though you were wearing sweatpants you could feel it.
- Y/n, honey, is everything okay? - Scott's voice made itself present, knocking on the door, and you widened your eyes.
- Answer! - you whispered to vision remembering that you couldn't do it with that man's voice.
- Yes... Everything's fine baby! - The boy murmured in a shaky voice, trying to sound natural with that feminine voice. He scratched the back of his neck nervously at the girl's gaze on him.
- Everything's fine baby? - mumbled Scott, confused by his daughter's slang, but shrugged. - Come down, coffee is ready. - He said as he walked down the stairs to the kitchen.
slapped Vision on the head, who was now smaller than you.- Everything's fine, baby? Everything's fine, baby?
- I didn't mean it. I was nervous!- It's okay... - He sighed, running his hand through his hair and soon missed his long hair.
- Y/n, what are we going to do? I can't go home like this... - He spoke angrily on the edge of the bed.
- Calm down ... First let's think about what could have caused this. - Reasoned a little trying to keep calm walking from side to side with his hands in his hair.- Maybe it was something we ate...
- Don't be an idiot. No food, no matter how bad it was, couldn't have done such damage.
- Sorry, I'm nervous... - He stood up, tapping his foot on the floor at every moment without taking his eyes off the body he now occupied.
- Or maybe... - You looked at him who now occupied your body.
- Last night... When we came from your house... - You said thoughtfully pausing the words and Vision seemed to understand.
- In the square... - He followed your reasoning.
- The fountain...
- We wished...
- To have each other's lives! - They concluded together.
- No, no, not this! This can't be happening… I didn't mean it, and how is that possible? I was happy with my life, I want my body back! - The young man spoke in agony pacing back and forth in the middle of the room.
- I didn't mean it either, I was just trying to be nice. And this is all your fault, if you hadn't started with the 'Your life is perfect, y/n, blah blah blah' talk, none of this would have happened.
- My fault? It's your fault that you came up with all that monologue about the perfect life and 'Your life is perfect here, Vision'. - he imitated in annoying little Y/N voice, a perfect imitation, by the way, since the voice was her own.
You looked at him with a frown and went on. A small fight started between the two of you, who were now rolling on the floor of the room.
- Give me my body back! Give it back! - Vision shouted, his small body on top of the other as he squeezed what had been his face the night before as if he wanted to get her off him.
- No! You give me back my body! - you shouted, now taking control of the fight and standing over the other, pulling the brown hair that used to be his.
- Ouch, ouch, enough! - he pushed her. - This way we won't get anywhere! - Vision put an end to the fight.
- You're right... Instead of fighting let's try to find solutions to solve this. - she stood up and helped the other soon after. - And I think I already know where we start...
The two went out the back door without being seen by Scott who was watching TV. Hope was still asleep, now lying on the sofa. You, who now occupied the boy's body, were dressed in a blue tank top that made the blonde's statuesque body clearly visible. A pair of black sweatpants and sandals. Vision who occupied your body was wearing his pink pajamas and put only a jacket on top, they drove to the square where everything started.
When they arrived at the place they were surprised, for there was no fountain anywhere. But there was a huge hole where it used to be, with pipes in sight and some bricklayers assessing the place.
- What happened here? - Vision asked, approaching one of the bricklayers involved in the work.
The same one stopped his work looking at the two young people, immediately looked at Vision drying him, seeing that the unknown girl was wearing a baggy pink shorts leaving her legs showing. You, who was behind Vision, noticed this and made a face of disgust, clearing his throat.
- Ah, there was a problem with the plumbing, some pipes burst, that is, a disaster! We'll have to replace everything.
- And the fountain... where is it? - You in the friend's body asked, checking all around without any trace of it.
- It had to be removed while we fixed everything.
- But you don't know where they took it?
- Um... No. But if you go to the city hall, I think someone can tell you. - The youngsters didn't waste any time. The town hall was right in front of the square.
- Can you give us some information? - The person who occupied the Y/N body turned to the old receptionist, with a face that said 'I hate my job'.
- It's about the fountain that used to be in the square. We want to know where it is. - You who occupied the boy's body asked, already impatient.
- I don't know. - answered automatically while you were messing with the computer.
- What do you mean you don't know? For God's sake, it's a fountain with a huge statue right in the center.
- Calm down. - interrupted the boy next to her. - You'll have to excuse her... I mean, he! - He corrected himself when he noticed the confused look on the woman's face, who was now looking at them with an arched eyebrow. - It's just that that fountain was of great sentimental value to us... So if you would be so kind, could you help us, please?
- she rolled his eyes at the girl's plea. - not in town, I don't know exactly where are. There's no information here. - she said while his dark eyes checked the computer screen. - But it says here that he will be back. Well, let me see…
Your eyes scanned the screen and you started tapping your foot on the floor impatient with the delay.
- Ah... Here it is. In a month it will be back.
- ONE MONTH? - You shouted and some people who worked there looked at him. Vision, occupying her friend's body, elbowed her in the rib.
- Okay. Thanks! - Vision resigned himself. he knew she had nothing else to do but wait. He pulled his friend's strong arm and left the place to spare themselves from further humiliation from the stares and whispers of several people who were in the place stared at them for not being dressed appropriately. Especially you, who was now him and tentatively wearing pink pajamas.
- What are we going to do now? - You groaned, putting your hands through your hair. You were visibly worried as you stared at the road in the passenger seat and at the driver's seat occupied by the body that now didn't belong to you.
- I don't know. - You looked at her and saw your own worried brown eyes. - I guess we'll have to wait... I still don't understand how that fountain could have caused us this. I mean, what kind of fountain was it? Fountain of desires? - he exclaimed sarcastically, making quotation marks with your fingers without looking away from the road.
- I don't understand it either. But now that you told me that, I remembered something… - you was trying to remember. - Just below the central statue of the fountain there was a small metal plate with some words… Do you remember?
- I think so… - he wrinkled his forehead, thoughtful. - Yes, there was but it wasn't in English so it didn't hold my attention much. It seemed to be in Italian, or Russian or German… I don't know. - He was also trying to remember.
A brief silence flooded the car and Vision decided to go home, and as the clock was eight o'clock he assumed that his mother would already be in the hospital.
- Wait... Fare Attenzione a ciò che si desidera! - you tried to pronounce the words that were now invading his mind.
- What? Speak our language, Y/n! - That was the phrase. - And what does it mean? - he asked confused.
- I have no idea? but we can find out. - You answered, getting out of the car and following the boy who had already opened the front door. They confirmed that the boy's mother had already left for work with the typical notes that they used to leave her, this time on the coffee table in the living room.
"Son, I won't be on call today, Patricia is already better and will be taking over my shift as a thank you, I was worried about how you were this morning. You looked dazed. I'll be early, don't be late for school.... Mommy loves you."
Vision was reading that note as You already took hold of the small laptop, which was sitting on top of the couch. To search for those unknown words that now could not get out of your head.
- Be careful what you wish for... - You whispered, seeing the meaning of that phrase, still keeping your eyes fixed on the computer screen in your lap.
- So... That's it. I guess we'll just have to live each other's lives. - murmured the boy, coming closer.
- Are you crazy? - you asked incredulously. - We have no other way, you heard that lady. The damned fountain won't be back for another month, what are we supposed to do between now and then?
- Let's tell someone what happened. - Maybe someone can help us. - You said.
- Do you think that's a good idea?
- It costs nothing to try. - you frowned and remembered something, looked at the clock on one of the walls. - Damn, Vision, it's going to be almost nine o'clock, we're already late! - you whined, crying. Yes, you were crying, but not because you were going to be late, that was just a pretext. You were crying because you were terrified of everything that was happening.
- Stay calm. It's okay if we're a little late, everything will be fine. I'm here, we're in this together.
He knew you better than anyone else and knew you were afraid so he wrapped you in a tender embrace which resulted in you both feeling strange, embracing yourself was indescribable
- Besides, I'm horrible at crying, so stop. - He said in a humorous tone, separating from the hug and looking at the face that until yesterday belonged to him.
You couldn't help but draw a small smile at the comment.
- Have I ever said I have a nice smile? - Vision asked smugly, causing you to slap him. The boy looked at you with a pained expression, it had hurt.
you chose not to take a shower, you really weren't ready for that yet. You couldn't imagine cleaning a body that wasn't yours, even though you knew it would happen at some point. You still needed to assimilate all this, so you just changed clothes trying to keep your eyes closed with the help of Vision who showed you what to wear: a pair of beige jeans, a white tank top, and a green plaid shirt over it, and sports shoes.
- Y/n, I don't even think I'll need to go to your place to change. - You had slept a few days ago at your friend's house because of a double work and decided to stay there. you should have forgotten that sweater and a pair of jeans that had already been washed.
- Great. Then get dressed and let's go.
- I think I should take a shower first. - he said expectantly with a humorous sideways smile.
- Don't you dare! - You gave him a murderous look.
- Okay. The one who spoke is no longer here. - He laughed lightheartedly and started to change his clothes.
(...)
In less than ten minutes by car they arrived at the school. In the end neither of them had been late, because the first class was geography for both of them and it had been vacant. Then they walked, as if everyone in the hall knew it, towards the lockers to get the books for the next class.
- Are you ready? - sighed the boy with all his belongings in hand.
- I think so.... I mean, no! - She closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them, she was nervous.
- And you?
The image of Valkyrie and Sam appeared in the hallway with the usual scratch card in their hands. The tall girl smiled with amusement as she saw Loki picking up his books from the floor, freshly knocked over by a basketball player. As the boy stood up with everything in hand, the girl knocked the scratch card right into his face, who now dropped all the books again to wipe his eyes.
- You immediately closed your eyes tightly as you saw Sam come close. But the cold scratch never came.
- Damn... I had forgotten how it burns. Poor Loki. - muttered the boy, his eyes closed with anger.
At the same moment you opened yours and found your friend's face all soaked and squeezing his eyes, at that moment you mentally thanked for not being in your body.
- You'll have to get used to this. - You helped him clean himself up.
- This is supposed to be the moment when you are supposed to help me look on the bright side of things. - He opened a small smile still scratching his eyes. Vision quickly remembered something and opened his still red eyes and looked startled at you.
- What now?
- Damn, what are we going to do with Wanda? - You widened your eyes.
- Oh... Oh, shit! - You cursed.
- Vision, why didn't you call me yesterday? You said you would call me but I didn't get any call from you. Why didn't you call me? - questioned the redhead who had approached the two of them.
- I'm sorry... - She interrupted herself realizing the situation she was in. The girl who had her hands on her waist dropped them when she heard the other's voice. She turned her eyes away from Vision and looked at the girl, seeing how soaked she was, she tried to hold back her laughter.
- Your house ran out of water and the only way was to take a shower with a scratch pad?
- You hunchbacked ass...
You couldn't continue with the insult as Vision glared at you with his big brown eyes followed by an elbow in the arm subtly so that Wanda wouldn't notice.
wanda was surprised that Y/n didn't retort to her insults. But she paid no attention to it and turned her gaze back to the boy. He looked as if he was having an epileptic fit because he was so restless in his seat. Tension took over. Vision didn't know how to act in front of his girlfriend and you just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
- Wanda I-I'm going to class now... - You tried to be as natural as possible in front of the other's attentive gaze on you. - Talk to you later, okay? - You improvised, slowly walking away taking Vision with you.
- Vision. - called him in a velvety voice making both of them stop their way. - Aren't you going to give me even a kiss?

Chapter index at the end of chapter one
You're usually the one responsible for your sleepless nights. Like that time when you were nervous about giving your first solo presentation in school. Or, the time you stayed up way too late for your first project early in your career, wanting to perform well as one of the team's youngest members. You rarely lose sleep because of other people. Well, it seems like Alhaitham just loves to surprise you.
It's already midnight, and you can't stop thinking about what happened today.
“Wait… You two know each other?” Kaveh gasped when you and Alhaitham exchanged a look. “Don’t tell me you’re the soulmate!”
“...The what?”
“Don’t bring up that nonsense,” Alhaitham warned.
Kaveh coughed. “Well, soulmate or not, it’s not every day you get to live across from a CEO.”
Alhaitham shot his friend a deadpan look, and Kaveh innocently looked in the other direction.
“You’re… a CEO?”
Alhaitham assumed you haven’t looked at that official welcome email. Otherwise, you would know. While he knew which department you were in, he didn’t go to see you. Though, sometimes, he’d thought of you barging into his office and demanding an explanation of why he was here. It was a ridiculous scenario, but it kept him entertained. Little did he know, it was those moments where he’d subconsciously smile.
He kept to himself that he knew you and left it up to fate to decide whether he’d accidentally bump into you in the hall or somewhere nearby. Turned out fate had other plans.
Alhaitham didn’t get a chance to respond when Kaveh said, “Uh huh! At Sumeru Entertainment! He’s still a newbie, though.”
“Um, are you okay?” It was the voice of your real estate agent that snapped you out of it. “You just turned pale.”
“At… at where did you say?” you asked.
“Sumeru Entertainment.”
Alhaitham’s voice wasn’t helping.
“I… I work there," you finally said.
“You do?” Kaveh gasped. “Oh, my God! That’s… what a small world!”
“I know.”
Silence.
Alhaitham… knew? Since when? How did he know? Could it be from your conversation with Lumine? But, you never said where—
“I saw you,” Alhaitham continued. “...At the marketing department.”
The marketing…? Oh. It must be from that time.
“Ooh, did something happen?” Kaveh asked.
“I, uh, it’s getting late,” you finally said. “I need to go.”
You scream into your pillow. But then, you look up.
No. Who cares if he’s your CEO? It’s not like you have any direct connection. But the thought of living across from him is…
Your head hits the pillow again. Wait a minute. You look up. Why should Alhaitham influence your decision on whether to buy the place or not? You love the apartment. It's closer to your work. The neighbourhood is nicer. Transportation is also much more convenient. There are too many pros. And the thought of giving that up just because Alhaitham will be your neighbour makes you scoff.
You sit upright.
You made your decision. You’re going to make an offer. You’re going to move in… and it’s not because you also partly want to prove a point.
◆◆◆
“Ooh, I got it! What if the guy is actually an alien?”
Later that week, you’re brainstorming with your team on project ideas, writing them all down on the large smart table in the meeting room. But, this idea… it’s interesting and has potential.
"Okay," you say, looking at the many ideas scribbled on the notepad. "We have enough ideas to work with. Let's start narrowing them down."
“How are we going to do that?”
A knock comes at the door. As soon as it opens, you see your manager… and Alhaitham.
"Oh, please don't mind us," your manager says. "I bumped into Alhaitham earlier, and he was interested in learning about the creative process behind our films and dramas." Your manager smiles. "I knew you were having a creative meeting with your team today, so I thought we could listen in."
It's the first time you've seen Alhaitham since that day. Now that you know he's the new CEO, you've been mentally preparing yourself to bump into him in the hallway or at a restaurant nearby. There's no way he's going to catch you off guard. You almost scoff. Again, this man just loves to surprise you.
Still, you need to become accustomed to this; soon, he will be your neighbour. That's right. You closed the deal on the apartment just yesterday.
"I hope we're not interrupting," Alhaitham says. You watch him walk to the opposite side of the table; your team members instantly make room for him. "All of these look like great ideas." His eyes look from the screen to you. "How do you narrow them down?"
You don't want to overthink and say that he's testing you. Regardless, you welcome the challenge. "I like to start with the ending." You put your hands on the table. "Knowing how the story ends will help write scenes to achieve that ending." You smile slightly. "It'll also help with sequencing."
As he listens to you talk, Alhaitham sees the same sparkle in your eyes he saw that day at your house when you looked at him as a cat. It's easy to tell that you love what you do; the passion in your talk says it all. People also glow differently when talking about something they love. Alhaitham has seen it. But, there's something about you that draws him in. He can't take his eyes off you, but what scares him is that he almost doesn't want to.
Looking up, you see Alhaitham staring at you, and your mind almost goes blank. Perhaps it's the way he's looking at you. Attentive. Focused. But there's also something else. Curiosity. Maybe he's taken more of an interest in what you're saying. Regardless, you're suddenly losing the words on your tongue.
“Um, yeah, so… that’s it,” you finish. You almost want to bang your head against the wall for that eloquent ending.
"It was easy to follow your train of thought," Alhaitham says. "It was logical, and I understood why you would do things a certain way." Then, he smiles slightly, and your heart almost skips a beat. "I learned a lot."
You sigh softly once he and your manager leave.
“Were you nervous?” You look at your colleague, who’s smiling. “It’s rare to see you get nervous, boss.”
You hope it doesn’t happen again… around Alhaitham, that is.
You leave a little early to meet your mother at your new place on the same day. It's still empty as you've scheduled your move to be on the weekend to avoid clashing with work. When you told your family you sealed the deal, they were all thrilled. Though, your mother just had to add that it would be even better if you were moving in with a guy. But, you let it slide.
“Hey, mom.”
“This place is beautiful,” she says, walking inside the lobby with you. “It must’ve cost you a pretty penny.”
"Well, I think I got a good deal after I negotiated."
In the elevator, your mother spends a little time catching you up on what's been happening at her café. Opening a café has always been a dream of hers. So, when she retired as an accountant, she took the plunge and opened one in the city's business district.
“You look exhausted,” you say worriedly. “Why don’t you rest for a little bit? I’m sure the part-timers can handle themselves for a day or two.”
"I know they can. They're good kids. One of them is going to graduate from university this year." She looks at you. "It's hard, though. I'm sure you know."
You know. It’s difficult for you to take a day off when it’s not an official holiday. Work is constantly on your mind. But you’re still young. Your mother, on the other hand…
You unlock and open the door to your new place, allowing your mother to step in first. She takes a look around just as you close the door behind you.
“It’s nice, right?” you ask.
You and your mother chat about the place for a while, and then she changes the topic to the one you’re dreading.
“Lumine told me she gave you the pamphlet.”
“...She did. I’m not going.”
“Why not?”
“Mom,” you groan. “Do you even have to ask? I think it’s obvious.”
“The men this time—”
“It’s not about the men!" You sigh. "I’m honestly really happy right now. I’d rather be happy myself than be in an unhappy relationship.”
Your mom gives you a look. “Who said I want you to be in an unhappy relationship? I know you’re happy, dear. But I want you to be happier. Some memories… some feelings can only happen when you have someone around you.”
“I’d rather have it happen naturally,” you mutter.
“But you have to try!”
That's the thing. You don't want to. It's not like you never had suitors after your horrendous breakup. But you turned every single of them down… for years. Your mom never understood why, and you always used the same excuse. You didn't like them. You just weren't interested. When one guy went as far as to treat you like a literal queen, some of your friends called you "incredible" for turning down such a great guy. But you couldn't date him. Not when the demons of your first relationship still haunted you like no tomorrow.
“Mom, please… can we talk—”
"I don't want you with just anyone, so I specifically signed you up for this event. They're worthy of being with a strong woman like you."
You wish you could just disappear.
Your mother opens the door and walks out. “Go to that event.”
“No. I don’t—”
The elevator doors open, and Alhaitham walks out. You instantly stiffen as he makes eye contact with you… and then your mother. When Alhaitham gives you a small smile, your mother slowly turns to you with a raised brow.
“Hey, neighbour," he says.
Is that your new nickname now?
“...Hi, neighbour.”
It’s… strange calling your CEO that, but maybe it's better than Catboy.
Alhaitham smiles at your mother. “Hello. It’s nice to meet you.”
“My… it’s nice to meet you!” Your mother instantly turns to you. “Are you two friends?”
“Yes.”
“No.”
You and Alhaitham look at each other. What is he talking about? You aren’t friends!
“He’s my neighbour,” you say. "If that wasn't obvious already."
Your mother turns to Alhaitham. “How did you two meet? Here?”
How will Alhaitham respond? You’re a little curious.
“She helped me when I got hurt.”
Your eyes almost turn wide. He isn't going to tell her about the cat incident, is he?
“She was very kind to let me stay with her,” Alhaitham continues, and your jaw almost drops.
Your mother instantly turns to you. “He stayed with you?”
“It’snotlikethat,” you say, your words coming out so fast that even you had trouble understanding what you just said.
“But we got into a little fight, and she kicked me out.”
Your mother looks back at him, and you give him a pointed look. He’s asking for it.
“A fight, you say?” she asks.
"It was me in the wrong." This takes you by surprise. "I shouldn't have overstayed my welcome." Then, Alhaitham looks you in the eyes. "But, I'll always be grateful for her kindness during my time of need."
He's making you feel too many emotions at once, and it must stop.
“Mom,” you say, “I’ll walk you down.”
“Oh, but I haven’t gotten his name yet!”
"Alhaitham." You shoot him a deadpan look, which he returns with a ghost of a smile. Then, he says to your mother, "It's a pleasure to meet you, auntie."
You don’t think it can get any worse, but your mother also loves to surprise you.
“Are you single?”
“Mom!”
“...I am.”
Well, you have one of your secret questions answered, at least.
“Oh, my daughter is, too! I keep telling her to go to a matchmaking party, but she’s as stubborn as always.”
“Mom,” you say loudly. “I really think you should get going. It’s late.”
Your mother sighs. “Fine, fine.”
You meet Alhaitham’s eyes just as he says, “Goodnight, neighbour.”
“...Goodnight.”
This is definitely not how you’re expecting your evening to go.
◆◆◆
Over the next few days, your mother’s been asking you more about Alhaitham. So much that even your siblings now knew about him.
"So, you got a sparkly new place and a hot neighbour?" Lumine had asked. "I wish I had your luck, sis."
“What does he look like?” Aether had asked. “I’m so curious.”
That was only one out of the many questions.
What does he do? What's his family background? Morals? Values? You couldn't answer them as you barely knew him. You thought about letting your family know that he's your CEO, but you weren't sure what path that would lead. So maybe it was best to pretend you didn't know anything for now.
You've just finished lunch, and you're talking with your mother in an empty meeting room when she brings up Alhaitham… again.
“Mom, it’s not good to keep talking about other people, you know.”
“But I’ve been thinking… someone that handsome is bad news,” she says. You almost choke on your water. You’re still coughing when you hear your mother say, “But… I didn’t get a bad vibe from him.”
“What kind of vibe did you get from him then?” you deadpan. Then, before you can stop yourself, you ask, “Catty?”
“No, far from it! He was very polite.”
Not the definition of catty you’re going for, but… it’ll do.
“Is… he the reason why you’re not going?”
“To what? That matchmaking party?” You roll your eyes. “It’s not the first time I told you no, mom. It’s not because of him. I just don’t want to go.”
"Well, you have such a great catch living across the hallway from you."
“A great catch?” you ask incredulously. “You barely know him! What if he’s a crazy psychopath?” You really hope that’s not true.
“I trust my gut instinct. He really doesn’t seem like a bad guy.”
“Yeah, well, let me dash your hopes right now. Actually, he’s—”
Knock. Knock.
The door opens, and you see one of your colleagues.
“Hey. We have this room booked.”
“Oh, sorry,” you say, standing. Then, as you walk out, you say into your phone. “I have to get back to work. Let’s talk later.”
◆◆◆
Hours later, Alhaitham gets off another call and rubs his tired eyes. Is this the life of an executive? Just meeting after meeting after meeting? Then, just as he's about to return to work, he hears a knock at the door.
“Come in.”
The door opens, and his secretary walks in, holding a black and white suit wrapped nicely in plastic.
Alhaitham is about to ask when his secretary says, “Your grandfather asked me to pick this up for you for the awards night next week.”
“Appreciate it.” Alhaitham gestures to the couch. “You can put it there for now.”
"He… also asked me if you're bringing someone," he says, putting the suit neatly on the couch.
“...To the awards night?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t see why I would."
“In that case, he’d like you to take Layla with you.”
There's a name he hasn't heard in a long time. The daughter of one of the wealthiest family-owned companies in Sumeru… and an old family friend. While he and Layla have been friends for a long time, they lost contact when she moved away for university. Is she back?
“She’s coming back to open a subsidiary company under their name,” his secretary continues. “Your grandfather would like the two of you to get back in touch again.”
There’s obviously a motive, and Alhaitham isn’t going to fall for it.
"I'm sure she'll be busy readjusting. The last thing she needs is to attend an award show that has nothing to do with her."
“...I’ll relay the message.”
"You can also tell him to talk to me directly. No need for you to get involved with this." Alhaitham looks at the clock. "...It's late. Let's head back."
In the elevator, Alhaitham isn't expecting it to stop on your floor. When the doors open and you see each other, he holds your stare until you walk inside.
“Oh, hi, Alhaitham.” Alhaitham turns to Childe, who walks in after you with a smile.
Alhaitham stands behind you as he watches you and Childe make some casual conversation.
“I still haven’t thought about what to get Zhongli for his wedding,” Childe sighs. “Any ideas?”
“Aren’t you two supposed to be close?” you ask.
“What did you get him?”
Oh? Are you going to Zhongli’s wedding, too?
“It’s a surprise.”
“Oh, come on,” Childe groans. “Don’t be like that.”
“Yeah, well, deal with it.”
Childe gently nudges you. “I can keep a secret.”
“No.”
“Please?”
“Let it go, Childe.”
“Never.”
Alhaitham clears his throat. You slowly look over your shoulder and see him staring at Childe. “She already said no.”
“Ah… yeah.”
It's the first time you've seen Childe speechless, and you look back, hiding a small smile.
The doors open, and you step out. As you and Childe walk together, you expect to see Alhaitham walk in another direction or past you, but you never do. Does this mean he's still behind you? You want to look, but you have no idea how to make it look not obvious. Maybe just a—
You gasp when you bump into a large man holding a hot drink that splashes on your clothes. You're still recovering from what happened when the man glares at you.
“Sorry,” you begin, “I—”
“Watch where you’re going!”
“Why are you yelling?” Childe asks.
“Who the fuck are you?”
“Me? I’m—”
“Watch your language.” Everyone turns to Alhaitham, who’s walking toward you.
It looks like the man recognizes him as he stiffens.
Alhaitham takes out a napkin from his suit and gives it to you. “...Are you okay?”
You take it. “...I’m fine."
“With all due respect, this woman is the one who bumped into me,” the man huffs.
As you dab the stain on your clothes, Alhaitham removes his jacket and drapes it around you. You stop and look up, catching a glimpse of his worried stare before he glares at the man. Everyone in the lobby is looking at you now, and you just want to disappear into a black hole.
“She already apologized,” Alhaitham says. “There’s no need to yell.”
The man grumbles something and walks away.
“...Thanks for that,” you say. “I’ll clean this and give it ba—”
“We need to get you out of those clothes.”
Alhaitham's voice is so quiet and low that you think you imagined it. But then, you see the warmth in his eyes, and you almost melt.
“We wouldn’t want you getting sick,” he continues.
…Right. Of course. Where is your mind wandering to?

Tumblr media
"seojun chew your food! stop spitting at haneul!"
"i— yuri! don't throw your food! i have to clean that later, you know!"
if you can't tell, y/n is currently at the end of the line right now. he groans and lets his head fall onto the counter, listening to the back and forth bickering of his three child siblings. it's 6:49 pm, and he is so so tired.
for the past four hours all he's simply been taking care of his brothers and sister, like he always does on the weekdays when he isn't working. he dislikes feeling tired; because there's still so much more to do even if they're already in the evening.
y/n can't remember the last time he earned a proper break, or was actually treated his age. his mom (who he absolutely despises at the moment and will probably despise forever), decided to have kids right when her son began high school, which means that he is now an eighteen year old high school graduate with two four year old boys and a three year old girl on his hands.
and y/n is as stressed as can be. it's not like before his mother was this amazing, flawless parent who did a good job at raising him, she wasn't, he had to learn every single basic life skill on his own because his mom was busy gambling away their money.
when he was ten she swore to him that he'd get better.
but she never really did.
and now she's out throwing all her money away at the casino, whilst he stays over at home making sure her kids are well fed, can sleep properly at night, and don't kill each other as they're trying to do now.
y/n knows it's not his job to do this, these aren't his kids, he can move out any time he pleases and leave his mom to actually have responsibility over her own children for once in her life, but he just doesn't have the heart to leave them.
he's practically raised these kids since the first day they came home from the hospital. he's the one who gave the twins their nicknames, the one who was present when all three of them walked for the first time, spoke their first words, began responding to him and what he'd say.
they're not his kids, he didn't choose to bring them into this world, but at the same time, he won't just leave them. he's been.. searching, trying to find a place whilst also trying to provide for his siblings at the same time, he barely makes minimum wage, he doesn't even know if he could rent a place.
as he stares at his young siblings, now cleaned up and simply watching cartoons while sitting on the couch. he sighs, simply wanting to collapse onto the floor and not get up for a long amount of time and just.. not exist anymore.
sometimes it gets so difficult, having to go to school five days a week, pick up his siblings from daycare then proceed to take care of them until their bedtime, make sure the house is clean, then watch as his mom strolls in at midnight, having wasted her money and usually wasted herself. he'd then work for a full 10 hours on saturday and sunday.
wow, his life is crazy is it not?
and he just turned eighteen like.. yesterday.
it pisses him off, yeah, but at the end of the day, he just deals with the circumstances of his life. he's gotten used to being the responsible one, being the one who takes care of the kids and is constantly sleep deprived.
y/n is about to fall asleep on the kitchen counter, the sound of the tv playing just melting into the air as he feels his eyes grow heavier and heavier by the second. his head is about to fall onto the counter when the doorbell rings, startling him.
y/n rubs his eyes, attempting to blink away the tiredness as he stands up and walks towards the door. he tells his siblings to continue watching tv and ignore it, when he opens the door, he smiles at who he sees.
"gunwook".
gunwook smiles, holding up a plastic bag. y/n tilts his head, raising an eyebrow. "what is in that exactly?" he inquires, and his boyfriend chuckles at him.
"candy" he responds simply. the three kids on the couch immediately perk up at the sound of the word "candy", toothy grins coming to their face.
"candy!?" haneul squeals, practically sprinting his way towards gunwook, he jumps up and down, seemingly energetic before even eating the sugary treats.
"if you want candy, sit down okay?" y/n places his hand on his head, ruffling his hair. haneul stares at his older brother, his boyfriend, then back at the couch where his own siblings are kicking their feet.
haneul shuffles his way back to the couch, and gunwook closes the door. y/n stares at him tiredly, but he smiles at the sight of him. "candy at seven pm? really?"
"what? your siblings deserve something sweet!"
"well, you didn't just witness them trying to kill each other with spaghetti, did you?"
gunwook shoves his partner's shoulder lightly, and y/n laughs. "okay, not too much candy, they have to sleep at night" he just earns a grin from gunwook, who nods.
"i got it y/n, you tell me all the time".
"you buy my siblings sweets all the time".
"because i love them" gunwook opens the bag as he says those words, and haneul gasps in delight. "just one piece, okay? your bedtime is soon".
seojun agrees, his voice muffled because of the treat he's chewing. haneul nods happily, and yuri gives a thumbs up, kicking her feet. gunwook gives the three a huge smile, enamored but their cuteness.
y/n stares at the scene unfolding before him, smiling fondly as he watches. gunwook isn't a kid person, but gunwook adores his siblings, always willing to come over to just see them.
the two have been dating for maybe half a year, but they've been friends for much longer than that. gunwook knows about y/n's situation, how he's stuck taking care of siblings because even though he wants to leave, he doesn't have the heart to leave them because his mom can't provide for them.
gunwook usually always comes over, whenever y/n is especially tired and simply feels like he can't do anything, gunwook will keep his siblings company as he collects himself.
of course, having to take care of your three child siblings whilst just becoming an adult yourself can take a huge mental toll on someone, and y/n isn't really doing well in this situation.
he blinks and sighs, covering his face in his hands as he feels his body about to slump over. he really just wants to fall on the floor and not wake up for a super long time.
when he focuses again, gunwook is now coloring with the three, who (surprisingly) stopped eating their candy and didn't ask for any more. gunwook has always had this power, he's always been able to easily calm down the kids amazingly.
a sort of charm, maybe.
gunwook notices his partners silence and turns to look at him, blinking. "y/n? everything okay?"
y/n hums, focusing once more. "yeah just.. tired".
gunwook stares, a knowing glint in his eye. he then looks back to the three coloring and smiles at them. "you guys continue, okay? i'm just gonna go talk to y/n".
the three nod, quickly going back to their coloring sheets and completely ignoring when gunwook stands up and turns y/n's way.
y/n is confused for a moment, he's about to question what gunwook meant but he quickly wraps an arm around his waist, nudging him lightly in the waist as they begin walking down the hallway.
"when was the last time you got a full eight hours of sleep, babe?" he immediately asks when the two of them are far away enough from the kids, y/n chuckles depressingly, because they both already know the answer to that question.
"do my eye bags not give it away?"
y/n laughs awkwardly, and gunwook simply glares at him.
"y/n" gunwook grabs his hands, and y/n shuts his eyes. "you really need to leave, what? are you gonna do this forever?"
"i'm not i just—" y/n pauses, god he's so tired, he feels like he can barely get his words out at this point. "i can't leave, it feels selfish to leave".
"it's not selfish to leave if your already doing everything, y/n, think about yourself, please?"
gunwook's words are said simply, he doesn't raise his voice, his tone doesn't change, he just tells it to y/n how it is, he tells him his opinion calmly and without issue.
ah, charms.. as usual.
y/n grasps his hands harder, as if he never wants to let go. he processes the words but he can't find a way to respond to them, for some reason. he blinks, staying quiet.
"i'll find you something y/n" gunwook whispers. "and you'll finally be able to live your own life, and take care of yourself, and.. you'll be fine".
y/n laughs silently. "your corny".
"corny? really?"
y/n laughs again.
"y/n, i just want you to be happy, you deserve to be happy, you deserve good things" gunwook says, and y/n somehow keeps the tears from falling from his eyes.
y/n lightly nudges him, and gunwook puts his arm around his waist once again. "you are corny".
"you love my corniness".
"yes, yes i do, how'd you know?"
they laugh, and y/n takes a few more seconds to simply stare fondly at gunwook. of course, his life wasn't ideal, his life wasn't amazing, he had many struggles it'd take a while to deal with.
but he had gunwook, gunwook was there for him, and that was more than enough.
gunwook was there for him.
and he's always will be.

Hello! Hope you’re doing well. I’d like to request Nolan Price x waitress!reader where Nolan goes into the diner as much as possible just to see reader. He always builds up the courage to ask her out, but it flys out the window once they start talking because he’s a stuttering mess. You can decide the rest. Thank you!
Pairing || Nolan Price x Waitress!Reader
Contents/Warnings || Fluff, anxiety
Authors Note || this is such a cute ask <3 i want him to ask me out tho 😔 also sorry for the delay. asks are always open, i'm just a bit backlogged right now!
Tumblr media
There's nothing special about this diner. Regular building, regular foods; burgers, pancakes, chicken and waffles... regular. Nolan didn't care about the diner despite going there two to three times a week, he would sit in the same booth in the same section with the same order of black coffee and maybe a short stack of pancakes for the sake of sugar. What he really cared about was seeing you.
Maroun was the one who dragged him there in the first place for a late night coffee and to get out of the tense and stuffy office, and they just happened to sit in your section that night. Nolan was smitten, to say the least. He stuttered when he ordered his coffee, something Maroun later teased him for. You were sweet and polite, and though he knew that was part of your job, it certainly didn't help his little crush.
The crush didn't stay little for long, though. He started to show up maybe once every one to two weeks, sometimes with Maroun, sometimes alone. He made stuttering small talk, "How's your shift going?" "Any plans after work?" "What do you do when you're not here?"
You humoured him. You thought it was amusing how he would talk so confidently with the woman he would come with, but then as soon as you came over, it was like he didn't know how to speak properly anymore. You were used to drunk men and assholes hitting on you once and a while, but Nolan was sweet, not directly flirting with you, though it was obvious he had some sort of feeling about you. You started to call him honey, thinking it was cute how his face would redden all the way to his ears. At this point, it had been months. Now he would show up twice a week, sitting in the same booth or at least in the same section you had. Every time he would want to ask you out properly, the words wouldn't come out.
One night it a bit past midnight- the end of your shift. He was sitting in his usual booth with a lukewarm coffee in front of him, answering an email on his computer. For what felt like the millionth time, he was trying to hype himself up to ask you on a date, but he hadn't seen you in 20 minutes. That is, until you slid into the booth seat across from him, no longer in the work clothes he was so used to you being in. He slowly closed his laptop, his mouth open a little to say something, but nothing came out.
You give him a small smile, "I make you nervous don't I? I don't think I've seen a guy act like you do towards me since high school."
Nolan finally closes his mouth for a moment before saying, "I... I'm sorry, I'm not usually like this.."
"It's fine... it's sweet, really."
"Sweet..." He repeats, "I was hoping I didn't come off as a creep."
"A creep? No, I've dealt with real creeps here who are about a million times worse than you think. But I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever ask me anything... you know?"
Nolan let out a nervous laugh, "The words never seem to come out when I try."
You studied him for a minute before pulling a notepad and pen out of your bag, writing down your number before standing up. "I have animals at home who need my attention. You can have this, though. Maybe it'll be a confidence booster." You place the paper on his keyboard. Nolan felt the heat rise in his face as he looked down, opening his mouth to say something, but you had already walked towards the door, giving him a short wave before you exited the diner.
He sat there, stunned as he watched you walk away, before he looked down at the paper.

HAPPY NEW YEARS ENA!!!!!! Since its New Years, how do you think everyone will celebrate it?
God damn it’s so far past new years. Sorry I somehow didn’t see this until now, but better 2 and a half months late than never…?
———
Teruko Tawaki: Regularly forgets its New years. She had more important things to worry about on the run, but at Hope’s Peak she tried to join in on the festivities and pretend she cared. She enjoyed being invited to a party for once.
Xander Matthews: …It was never the same celebrating after his family died. Just like how everything else wasn’t the same. Another year without them. Yay. Being surrounded by friends at Hope’s Peak helped get his mind off things, though, and he brought some alcohol to the class party. Unless the school staff asks, in that case he totally didn’t.
Charles Cuevas: It never held too much importance to him. He did find it annoying how he had to remember to write a different year every time he tried to write down the date, because he’d often forget and have to rewrite it. Whit convinced him to celebrate New Years with the class, and he had a decent bit of fun.
Ace Markey: He gets extremely existential, unsurprisingly. Being reminded of the passage of time makes him anxious, so he’s not the biggest fan. He went to the party and was one of few to not drink Xander’s totally-not-alcoholic beverages, and from listening to what everyone was saying while intoxicated he knows many more secrets than he should.
Arei Nageishi: Probably throws confetti at midnight and then makes someone else (Eden) pick it up. New Years never garnered much fanfare at home, but she joined Ace in not drinking and took many photos for blackmail—Er, totally not malicious purposes.
Rose Lacroix: Falls asleep waaaay before midnight and misses all the festivities. She went to the party, but ended up falling asleep at the snack table. Eventually she got woken up by Nico right before midnight, and as soon as that was over she made a beeline for her dorm. A bed sounded nice.
Hu Jing: She enjoyed spending time with her family, even if she thought staying up that late could be exhausting. At Hope’s Peak she was just trying to make sure nobody died during the party, which was surprisingly hard. Still, the promise of a New Year, full of new possibilities did bring her a bit of excitement. She’s overcome with the joy of the realization she’s made it this far and managed to make so many new, valuable connections.
Eden Tobisa: An excuse to celebrate something with her close family and friends?!? Count her in! She likes it not only because of her birthday, but because she loves the feeling of new beginnings and a chance to turn everything even better. She loved seeing everyone spending time together and having fun at the party.
Levi Fontana: He isn’t too passionate about the holiday, but he likes to make New Year’s resolutions and trying to improve himself. He’s in the 2% minority of people who don’t give up on their resolutions a month in. He joins Hu in trying to make sure nobody dies at the party.
Arturo Giles: He likes to see what celebrity is on TV and preforming a New Year’s Eve show, but other than that he’s not very interested. He didn’t want to go to the party, but Veronika dragged him along. He didn’t even try to pretend he didn’t want to be there.
Min Jeung: In the past, she mostly just spent New Years studying, unsurprisingly. One year closer to seeing if she would become the Ultimate Student. She ended up hiding under a table and reading during the party, eventually joined by Teruko.
David Chiem: Time to profit off of everyone’s newfound desire to change themselves for the better! While this time of year has his business more profitable than usual, that means to maximize profits he has to work more, which he finds exhausting. He finds everything about this time of year exhausting. At the party, he ended up kissing Xander…Ten bucks says neither of them remember by morning.
Veronika Grebenshchikova: Horror movie marathon until midnight, naturally. She finds the New Year ever-so-slightly exciting, she supposes. At the party, she tries to get everyone to play truth or dare and proceeds to either try and make them reveal incredibly personal secrets or do incredibly dangerous things. Xander is the only one who tries one of her dares, but ends up getting stopped before the can accidentally hurt himself.
J Rosales: Another year with her Mom, great…She was pretty neutral on New Years in the past, honestly. She went to the party and had a decent bit of fun, and once again made the New Year’s resolution to go to the gym more so she could get really buff and shit (She rarely follows through for more than a month or so, but she’s planning to ask Levi if he could be her gym partner and she hopes she’ll be too prideful to quit if someone else is doing it with her).
Whit Young: Used to spend New Years alone at home. He is now making the most of having friends around, and gleefully goes to the party. He teases a lot of people about who they’re going to kiss at midnight, but mostly gets responses asking about if he’s going to finally make a move on Charles and he immediately gets flustered and changes the subject.
Nico Hakobyan: They usually aren’t thrilled about spending five extra hours around people when they just want to go to bed. They begrudgingly attend the party after much contemplation, because they get nervous they’ll miss out on something and regret it later. They end up sleeping at the snack table with Rose for most of it.
———
Thank you for the happy new year, by the way! I hope you have…er, had a happy new year, too! Thanks for the ask!

Chapter 3
“Hey Lola” I smile and wave at Miguel as I make my way to the bar. “Same as usual?” He was already preparing my drink before I could answer.
“Thank you” I let out a sigh sitting on the corner of the bar. I look over and see Diego coming out. “Hey”
“What's going on?” He asks with a smile coming up and starting to dry the glasses. “Haven’t seen you in awhile” Miguel comes up and lays the drinks infront of me.
“Yeah, I've been busy with work. Its hits always at the same time” Miguel didn’t know to make my drink virgin but thankfully I needed this drink.
“Taxes season right” Miguel laughs before leaving to attend the other guests.
“Anything new?” I shake my head.
“Since he showed up on my doorstep I got a sweet invitation for dinner” I downed the drink. I’ve never been an alcoholic person, never got the point. They said it relaxed you and some other shit and maybe it does but never wanted to test out the waters. “More people have been around so I actually had to start working” I get a laughfrom him. Atleast someone is getting the humor out of all of this.
“That was quick?” Miguel comes over and takes the drink and goes to prepare another one. Diego just shakes his head.
“His movement has been still for a while and aslong as it stays there it means he doesn’t feel pressured. '' I smile as Miguel set another drink infront of me.
“I was wondering something” I lifted my eyebrow waiting for his next words. “Would you like to go out sometime? Maybe here for some drinks?” Stuck in the corner with that one. Miguel was a nice guy, hell with it.
“I would like that but I will let you know when. I’ve been swamped at work so I don’t know when I will get a chance to relax again”
“You know where to find me” He smiles walking away again.
“Look at you,” Diego says with a smile. “This will be your first date, since when?” I roll my eyes, taking my attention back to my drink. “Since never?”
“Shut up”
“Honey-”
“Don’t call me that” He knows when I am serious but he also knows just because it upsets me doesn’t mean I won’t get over it.
“Sorry” he lifts his hands up in defense. “I have knowed you since middle school and after that guy, you haven’t given nother guy the time of day” He moved closer making sure nobody heard. “And I know you are only doing this as a cover but it's time you put yourself out there again”
“I will” I shrug finishing me drink
“I can’t remember how many times you got the chance and never took it.” As he places his hands over mine I feel a smooth surface. I turn it to act like I am holding his hand and slip to grab the piece of paper in it.
“I will” I smile getting up.
“No late drinks tonight?” It was 9 and I usually stayed sometime after midnight.
“Not tonight Miguel. Got so much work to finish and I have until the end of this month” I thank them and leave. I carefully move into a spot where it's not suspicious to people who may be watching. I checked the note and intently grew tired. Close the blinds. Hell. As I walk home, well the motel. I drag my feet. This is the fifth night Pena has done this in the span of 3 weeks. He would sneak into the motel and have me close the blinds. Later after we spoke he would sneak out when the men across the street would turn off the lights. This usually happened when my lights were off for a while so it would send Pena out around 1 to 4 in the morning. I got the door acting all normal. I would set my things down and walk into the bathroom doing my usual routine. “I thought I told you to stop coming” I groaned, walking out the bathroom and placing my clothes on a table in the bathroom.
“And I told you I wasn’t until you decided to let us in” I rolled my eyes walking back out frustrated. This is how the night went. I got home and he would be sitting on the toilet. I would take a shower as we start our discussion. After that I would come out and close the blinds. Go into the bathroom and change as Pena moves to the kitchen table. Finally I would ignore him and give him bits and pieces as I try to catch some sleep until morning. He would be out by the time I opened my eyes. Today I was over it. I ignored him as I took a shower and even as I got ready for bed. “You’ve been working overtime and spending time on road trips, what does he have you doing?” I shrug, removing the pillows from the bed and getting into the covers. “Y/N!”
“Shut up” I groaned. It was close to eleven now and all I wanted to do was sleep. I wasn’t tired enough not to stay up. I was tired of the life that I have to live right now. I can’t leave and it's looking like it doesn’t have an end. “Pena” I sigh sitting up. “I don’t have time for your threats or whatever speech you prepared” I say a little too loud.
“You would have to hear it if you would just tell me what's going on” He gets up from the table and walks over. I get up and turn off the lights. I place on my shoes and walk towards the back. “Y/N” he warned. He knew to stay hidden behind the wall as I walked out into the sort of porch outside. I wrap my arms around me as the cool air hits my face.
“I stand out here sometimes. I like to look at the sky and picture myself somewhere else. Usually surrounded by water. Floating and letting the motion of the waves rock me to sleep” I turn my head catching Pena's eyes. “Ironic because I am scared of the open water. I am going to say this as nicely as possible” I turn my body to walk towards the door outline without stepping in, I needed to still feel at peace to not let the frustration out on him. “No matter how much this involves you, you can’t be putting me,you,Murphy, and any other agent on the line. I am not a little girl, all the information I give goes directly to you and the ambassador” Thats when Pena stands up and stops right infront of me. “I can’t have you coming here and risking this operation because of your stubbornness and pride” I say this a little harsher as his presance radiates. It's like I could feel him so much closer than he was. Like he has engulfed me in a tight hug and somehow, that made me feel at peace. “It's not the right thing to do and if I am being honest I feel like everything is slipping off my hands” I hate not having control. Something I should have since it's my damn operation but with him involved it like I can’t get a hold of it.
“Y/N '' I felt his fingers grab my own until he enterwines our hands. “You are stressed”
“No! Pena” I finally let out. “I am scared” That was the last straw. I don’t know what caused it. I don’t know if he hugged me first and tears started falling or he heard my whimper as I cried and wrapped his arms around me. Silence surrounded us both not knowing what to say. The truth came out and I felt vulnerable. I hadn’t felt this way. Losing control wasn’t part of my traits. I was close to losing control and it was making me think of unnecessary feelings I learned to put in the past. “I know what I got myself into. I learned to not take it personally. A great deal of my life I have always been good at keeping my emotions in. To ignore. But-” I look up not knowing what to end with. There is nothing to think about. There is no other choice here, I must finish my operation. I must get back in control. “I'm sorry” I whisper, moving my hands to cup his cheeks. I pulled him closer pinning us against eachother. The kiss was breathtaking. I felt down and sad and having him kiss me felt like a solution. He didn’t seem to mind. It felt like he was desprate to take all the sadness I had in this one kiss. I push him inside, not letting us reach for air just yet. We stumble upon the kitchen table. “Careful” I chuckle, wrapping my arms around him as he slips around my waist. It was a simple long kiss but it was turning into something I craved for.
“Querida” He groaned as we molded together. His back knees hit the bit and it makes him sit down. I dare not let go yet and crawl on to him pushing him even closer for the kiss to never end. I didn’t want to talk. I didn’t want to go back to reality. I only wanted to listen to his moans and groans as I start to slowly grind agains this jean pants. I only wanted to feel his heart beat beating with mine. His smooth finger continued to travel along my back and unclapsing my bra.
“Javi?” It sounded like a question to me but I was begging and he understood that. He took out my shirt and started to leave butterfly kisses starting from my mouth to my collarbone.
“Sounds so sweet when you say my name” I smile. My head falls on his shoulder moving up to kiss beside his ear.
“Javi!” I groaned louder, knowing he was ignoring my plea. Then there was. Not what I needed but it was a start. One head on my breath and his talented mouth on the other. Kissing first and the next licking and sucking like no tomorrow. I throw my head back pushing my chest closer. “Javi!” I screamed. “Fuck” I grab on his head pulling and tugging his hair. I forcefully continue to grind on him wanting nothing more than to get rid of the barrier of clothing between us.
“Mi amor” It was the heat of the moment I told myself. But it made a shiver run down my spin to my core. “Stop, you’re killing me” He groans and I start leaving kisses and hickies on his neck.
“Don’t you want to hear me scream your name some more?” I move up again, nipping on his ear and slowing down my hips but with more force.
“Yes” he whines. His hands grab on to my hips following my rhythm.
“But, we can stop if-” I didn’t get a chance to finish my sentence when he wraps one arm around my waist and the other helps him not fall on top of me as he turns us around and lays me down on the bed. “No?” I try to hold my laugh but it's cut short. His eyes hold seriousness. Still hovering over me he moves on hand to cradle my cheek.
“No” His deep voice sends another shiver down my spine. His thumb slides over my lips and I give him entrance. A simple suck and his eyes shut. “Mi vida” He groans. With his affirmations alone and sweet nicknames I could orgasm faster than if I was doing it myself.
“Wait!” I pushed into the bed, not in the way I wanted. I hold my finger up signaling him to keep quiet. I run to close the back door and the curtains. A quick chatter from outside and shadows that the moon allows to cast make me jump. I see Pena stand up and walk quickly towards me.
“Do you think-” I shushed him quickly. I grab on to his hand and push him into the bathroom. I open the cabinet and take everything from underneath.
“I need you to keep quiet and don’t come out until I let you out” I open a secret compartment. It was a small space fit for one person. “Pena” I turned around and stood up. “If you hear no commotion you let yourself out” I move out the way to let him. That's when a knock is heard on the other side.
“No way in hell-” I grab a fist full of his shirt.
“Don’t give me that shit right now!” Another knock. “You will do what I say. This is my operation and I won’t have you mess it up. I will send for you when I decide. And only then will you show up, understand? I can take care of myself” I ran back to the room and put my shirt on again. “Get in Pena” I hurry him inside and close it. I get the time to put everything in place before rushing back to open the door. “Hello?” I act like they just disturbed my sleep.
“We are sorry to come at this time Miss, but the boss would like a word with you.” Fuck.
“Okay. Give me a minute to change and I will be right out. They nod and I close the door. I can’t tell Peña because he would be right after us. I changed quickly going back to the bathroom and putting my head inside the cabinet knowing he would be able to hear me. “Please don’t do anything stupid and listen for once. I will keep you in the loop but I need you to promise me you will follow what I said before”
“Okay, but Y/N-“ I cut him off quickly
“I don’t have time Pena, I have to go over things with them so it will be awhile. In an hour you walk out the back door” I didn’t wait for his response as I walked to the door and into the car with these men.

*spawns in t-posing maliciously*
Can I get a uh...🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️👽🦾💔🎭😬 for Elliot Clayton please?
K byee *evaporates*
You come into my inbox T-posing maliciously and expect me to give you headcanons?🤨
I’m just pulling your leg!😉 Of course, I will! On to the Elliot headcanons!
🏳️‍🌈 A sexuality headcanon
Bisexual. Maybe Aroace, but that headcanon could be because Elliot strikes me as one of those teens who complain about love being gross. So, I’m not sure how much that influences the idea, but I could see it working for him, too.
🏳️‍⚧️ A gender headcanon
Well, while my instinct is to go with a cis-gendered male, another possible option for Elliot would be transgender. He reminds me of a friend of mine who started transitioning while we were in high school (coincidentally, their name is Elliot), and while my friend isn’t a tech genius, I see similarities between them. They have similar styles and personalities (though my Elliot is a little more upbeat), and while I can’t explain it well, I can say that’s where the headcanon comes from.
👽 A headcanon about a weird quirk of there
Elliot has a detailed routine for maintaining his equipment. He NEVER lets anyone else do it because he knows they'll mess it up somehow. It's a multi-step process where he cleans his equipment inside and out to keep his tech working perfectly. He cleans the hardware and the software to prevent anything from glitching or slowing down. He does it in the same order every time, and when he’s on a cleaning spree, people avoid entering his lab unless absolutely necessary.
🦾 A disability headcanon
Elliot is high-functioning autistic and has also been diagnosed with ADHD. He can easily hyper fixate on a topic but also needs to keep himself occupied by doing something. Hacking was one of his hyperfixations that he never grew out of and always returned to. He doesn't like telling people about his disabilities because he’s been bullied for them, but the Bureau doesn’t treat him differently because of them. They all took the time to educate themselves on autism and ADHD and learn about what it means for Elliot. They know how to help him through meltdowns brought on by overstimulation, and while Marina is the expert, the others are good at helping when she’s unavailable.
💔 An angsty headcanon
Elliot was traumatized by his time being captured by Anbu Devanesan. He talks to Marina about the ordeal, but the physical and mental scars still hurt him. He gets nightmares of being kidnapped and a twisted version of the night where the Bureau doesn’t save him. He also has a scar on his right temple from where Anbu cut him with his gun. Elliot hides it with his hair as best he can to avoid remembering having a gun against his head, and sometimes, he can’t even bring himself to look at his reflection. When he sees the scar, he’s imminently brought back to the dockyard in Singapore, where he nearly became SOMBRA’s newest recruit.
🎭 A headcanon about what they lie about
How late he stays up at night. Elliot has an atrocious sleep schedule; he barely sleeps. He enjoys staying up until at least midnight, but he usually stays up until later. Of course, in the past, he could sleep in as late as he wanted, but after joining the Bureau, he needed to wake up to an alarm. It's the main reason you’ll almost always see a cup of coffee or an energy drink on his desk in hopes of keeping him awake.
😬 A headcanon about the worst thing they’ve done
Elliot used to take hacking requests on the dark web before he joined the Bureau. Most were innocent enough, like hacking a client’s ex’s computer or messing up the software of evil companies. However, one of the requests he got seemed harmless enough at first, but it soon turned sinister. He was hired to hack and lock down an organization’s system and hold it for ransom. He did as asked, hacked the network his client provided him access to, and locked everyone out. It wasn’t until he was a couple hours into the mission that he found out the organization he had attacked was a children’s hospital in London after he heard about it on the news.
Elliot felt sick to his stomach at allowing himself to be used for something so horrible. He might seem heartless, but he would NEVER prevent someone from receiving medical care, especially not children. So, Elliot immediately released the hospital’s systems before they could pay anything to the one who hired him and covered his tracks. But not well enough. A few days later, the Bureau knocked on his door, and he was brought in for questioning. After hours of interrogation and making a deal with Chief Ripley, Elliot joined them in exchange for not going to jail and helped them arrest the mastermind behind the attack.
And that’s a wrap on my headcanons for Elliot!
Thank you for the request!
