Jou's duel with Keith is really like... looking through a mirror darkly. They both use gambling cards. Keith is American, Jou is likely half (given his naturally blond hair). Keith at one point talks about being in such a dark place that you have to learn to enjoy being horrible just to survive it, and Jou was in a gang where he did the exact same thing.
Basically the duel is so interesting to me because Keith is kind of a What Could Have Been (negative) for Jou if he hadn't become friends with Yugi, and the parallels are delightful.

I 1000% prefer this over how she got mikan to fall for despair in Dr3 (honestly it feels like this was what was supposed to be how it went)
(Extra context: it's Junko's (and by extension Mukuro's, which is why she has an option in the first pic) birthday.)

I do feel. a little underwhelmed by the current resolution to the Laudna/Delilah arc. Like I'm glad this is where it's at, and after the battle last week, I get it, but it feels. idk.
The story beat doesn't hit as hard for me as maybe it should?

I think another element of Orym's involvement in this whole plot that is getting misconstrued or otherwise used inappropriately is Liam's statement that Orym can't be objective about this.
It's true that he can't be objective about the person who murdered his husband! I think very few people would be! But that doesn't change the fact that it is in fact completely and yeah, objectively true that the Vanguard murdered his husband because they wanted to get to Keyleth to test if Vax would show up, and so Keyleth's guards obviously tried to prevent an attack on Keyleth, and not only were they killed for defending her, they were killed in a way that specifically prevented resurrection, to no known benefit.
Orym's lack of objectivity doesn't mean he's in the wrong or that he should have to make himself to see the other side of "maybe the people who killed innocent guards as part of their moon experiments have a point." It just means that, for example, even if Abbadina is very pleasantly and calmly saying "oh I don't have any stakes in the moon thing nor do I know this guy who talked over the ley line broadcasting system, I just think he's right about the gods," he's going to leave the house and sleep outside instead of calmly listening. He's not going to be able to make that more general and detached argument about power and murder that Laudna and Ashton can make (also informed by their past experiences, but a little more removed). This is, for him, extremely personal; but he is still correct.
I think a comparable if obviously much less morally/theologically fraught example would be that Laudna, understandably, gets upset when Ashton talks to her about his own experiences with loneliness. It's a great scene, because both characters have experienced pretty profoundly lonely times in their lives.
Would it be appropriate for someone to say "well, Laudna obviously can't be objective here; she's relying too much on her own past experiences to inform her judgment, so we should ignore her"? I think it's pretty obvious that's an absolutely fucking stupid thing to say; but that's what people are saying when they're bringing up Orym's emotional response. People are still allowed to have pretty strong subjective feelings about things that objectively happened.

Korg: So when you cuddle are you the big spoon or the little spoon? Thor: I’m a knife. Loki: he's a little spoon Valkyrie, playing five finger fillet on Loki: I can vouch for that Bruce, sticking his head into the doorway: the best little spoon Heimdall, standing in the corner sagely: little spoon is his usual preference Thor: /face red/ Korg: ...ah, so he’s a little spoon, and a liar

were to show up in vol 1/2 how many 2v2s they would beat. like they're low end huntsmen, and that's generous, but they're still huntsmen. like even if theyre in the lower 10% of huntsman, thats still in the upper percentile of fight experience.

Colorful sweater – a man in a colorful sweater
Tumblr media
Pixel art for today based on videogame Spider Man vs Kingpin for game console Sega Master System. It is arcade about a spiderman! Sing a song Spiderman, spiderman! Something is doing. I do not remember what is next.
And this is my drawing about the same theme. Man in a colorful sweater. He saves you from the bandits of the streets. If you are in a trouble – then make a call to a man in a colorful sweater. He, of course, is not a batman or superman, but he can do something. By nights he runs at the streets and make put everything in order, clean the streets from the bandits. He has a website in the internet. And all the citizens give him a requests.
Some bandit hires lots of mercenaries to get colorful sweater out of game. And now colorful sweater has lots of things to do by nights.  First of all it is good to punish all the bandits at the streets. And get who is main bandit here. And beat him. Like Michael Jackson does. So, this is a plan for a colorful sweater.
He can moves a little like Michael Jackson. He can do a disco. Firm kick in style of disco. And he has a tube with him. And with it he can do a heavy metal to the enemies. Everyone knows that colorful sweater all the time is listening g to the music. Every night – a new record. He is also a blogger and talks about music new releases.

Okay now I want to go through Tsumugi's discussions of cosplay because she's clearly talking about THIS.
The comment about always making cosplay costumes for people who don't actually appreciate the character but want to make it all about them. How she's always made costumes for people but she's not going to do it for those kinds of people anymore but only for people who sincerely love and want to be the character. How - after a long time - she's started wearing her own costumes because she loves those characters so much - especially so much more than those people.
Tsumugi. Tsumugi you're talking about writing for Danganronpa. Tsumugi you're poking at people who don't even realize what you're saying but were definitely people who were more about themselves than the character (except Shuichi, who came with his character idea intact). Tsumugi you're talking about making sure these people play the character and not using Danganronpa as a vehicle to make a season or a case all about them. Tsumugi you are talking about including these people in your stories as a gift and why you finally decided to join the story as a character yourself instead of sitting on the sidelines.
Tsumugi you aren't talking about cosplay YOU'RE META TALKING ABOUT DANGANRONPA.
EDIT: SHE'S ALSO PROBABLY TALKING ABOUT BEING THE MASTERMIND.

aye, as expected, rebirth is much better once i've calmed down.
although i'm going to retry fort condor again so maybe i am saying this too early
(I still don't like the plot-gating mandatory mini-games of chapter 6, but chapter 7 is much more straightforward and has a sidequest that is related to the main plot! joys of joys) (i also really liked cloud fighting with the umbrella and the zack interlude. love any mention of my boy. also i did not expect to love the barret-tifa-yuffie relationship so much)
edit: okay. I've actually done some googling on how to win the last fort condor fight since they were so hard (fucking time limit!) and just managed to get it through with 6 seconds left thanks to loads of ballista and also putting it on easy mode. i really liked the remix of battle on the big bridge! can't wait to hear it in its entirety
