These people be pulling some of the rawest imagery you ever seen one moment and then be sitting down to have a nice chat with you about stupid stuff like snowball fights or something in another.

I mentioned before when talking about Adam that I find confidence one of the most appealing traits a character can have, and one way to enhance this trait even more is by giving it to a kind character.

Confidence + kindness is one of my favorite character combos, and when pulled off well, it leads to some of my favorite types of characters who in turn get some of the coolest moments in a story.

There are some things in the new Energon Universe Transformers book I'm not super fond of, but it absolutely nails Optimus Prime's compassion for everyone.

If I ever need to sum up Optimus as a character to someone I think I'm going to use this comic as my example from now on

Optimus at his core is a gentle giant

Yes hes a leader and a brave hero to the autobots but hes always at his best when hes learning about the importance of life and just how fragile it can be

"Be strong enough to be gentle" is what he should always be and I'm tired of comics and movies making him seem like some violent corrupt cop

As a transformer fan, What do you think of michael bay's movie series?

Short answer: Bad.

More in depth answer: there are glimmers of interesting ideas in the slosh pit of the Bayverse, but these glimmers are few and far between and if you can skip hours of runtime in several movies and not feel like you've missed anything important in any of them, then they're not well made movies.

Final Thoughts: The AU of the Michael Bay movies in which a human family helped repair Optimus and so he in turn tries to help them out of their sticky situation that a friend and I made while riffing/marathoning the movies is far more in character to Optimus as a whole than 90% of what Bayverse Optimus is.

Okay I JUST HEARD ABOUT THIS. But Peter Cullen (the guy who voices Optimus Prime in EVERYTHING) came up with that iconic, awesome voice because of what his brother said to him before he went to audition. His brother told him to not be like all the other loud, boom boom heroes. You know what he said?

"Be strong enough to be gentle."

AND SO NOW WE HAVE THIS DEEP, BARRATONE, MOTIVATING, ICONIC VOICE THAT IS OPTIMUS PRIME.
