In reality, it was much worse than Percy's lack of a reaction showed, he was laying in bed with his foot propped up, in constant pain and completely unable to walk at all. Their knee bones completely shattered during a battle studies test when they took a super effective hit so their Umbreon wouldn't get hurt, despite it being a fighting move.

A strange ship arrives, clad in steel and so low to the sea that the waves just barely reach the deck. Massive in length, it trudges through the waters with a trailing billow of steam flowing from it's chimney. As odd as it was imposing, it flanked the smaller boat in an attempt to line up it's ramp to the doorway. An arcanine and umbreon were waiting on the other side, flanked by sailors who were carrying gift-wrapped cargo.

Paul Dano Character Pokemon Teams

Hi! Have you ever wondered what Pokemon your PD blorbos would use? I have!

Burt Fablemen : Strong connection to technology with Rotem, Klang and Porygon, Electric typing seems natural for an engineer! Same with Steel. Brabiel because he's as squishy and chunky shaped as his trainer is.

Brian Wilcox: He's a nasty grimy guy, hence he's a Poison Type Trainer. Noribat and Umbreon because they look like cute emo plushies.

Edward Nashton: Phantump to represent the children who died in the orphanage that haunt Eddie's memories. Mimikyu who wears a little handmade Riddler costume or even a tiny Batman. Raticate being with him since childhood. One of the rats that bit his fingers. Blastoise and Voltorb for the flood and the explosives on the Seawall

Percy Dolarhyde: Fighting type seems natural for a surely, bratty cowboy. His Combusken has been waiting forever to evolve but he's too lazy to get the gym badges. Has three of them. Begged his father for a cool Pokemon so Percy was given a high level Lucario that hardly listens to him. Often looking at his trainer with a "Really man?" sort of expression. Trubbish won't stop following him around, no matter what Percy does!

Pierre: Honestly he screams Fairy Type trainer to me! All of his Pokémon are spoiled with extremely high friendship levels. Ninetails is good for exploring the snow grounds of his estate. He totally has a sweet tooth that Slurmpuff enables!

Eli's team... Wow it sure is a team lmao! He's not totally a creep but our favorite camera man is in a committed relationship with a girl named the bit.

Milo's team is one he shows in normal life. Harmless Bolthound, Eevee and Corvisquire. While he uses the other members for his little stalking game.

Timothy Klitz: See he's trying to train a real team as compared to Eli. He gets shit for having Steenee and Espon but they're just Pokemon man! He's got some bulk with the two fire types. A beefy pokemon team for a guy who's less than bulky.

OOC NOTES

Feel free to get silly with completing any of these, I won’t be rejected! Other than that they’re all free game, and if you’d like, you can go off script.  Twilight’s is purposefully vague sometimes, just for the comedy of another character having to decipher what she’s talking about. If you want the correct answers, number 1 is a lantern, and number 3 is a pillow (plushies also will make her very happy!). She’ll be pretty gullible about what “treasure” could be, since she’s still new to a lot of things.

Her stomach twists as Eelektross charges forward, electricity slamming its way into her partner quickly. The speed of it all leaves her Samurott no time to do anything other than brace. For a terrifying moment, it appears to Hilda that the move had knocked him unconscious and she finds herself taking a rushed step toward him. But her Samurott lifts its head and steadies its frame. The action is slow, and Hilda knows instantly that his health is low, another hit of that caliber will result in him fainting. She’s quick to withdraw Percy, the panic that has filled her since the initial sight of Ghetsis growing slightly. Her plan had simply been to look around Dragonspiral tower, not to end up fighting against the very man who haunted her nightmares. She wasn’t prepared for this. The entirety of the team she normally battled with was not on her, an Umbreon far too low-leveled and young for such a fight filling one of the spots. As strong as she and her pokemon have become, he’s caught her off guard. Unlike their last fight, she can’t see a way through this. The only hope she has is to take a defensive stance, to try and protect her pokemon the best she can.

   Stoutland is swiftly released, and Hilda forces herself to stand straighter despite the terror flooding her, determined to not let it show. “Go ahead, but then you will never find Reshiram. They aren’t on me.” She knows she’s playing a dangerous game by voicing this, that it’s only going to aggravate him further, but she does so regardless- hoping to find a way to get her pokemon out of this battle. “Kamali, Hyper Beam.”

Predictable of her to withdraw the Samurott rather than let him faint. Ghetsis withdrew his Eelektross in kind to avoid being outnumbered later. At the sight of her Stoutland, he released Bastiodon, a newer addition to his team. The steel type took the Hyperbeam in stride, its shield-like head protecting the rest of its body.

Ghetsis was taken aback by Hilda's claim that Reshiram wasn't with her. What kind of trainer wouldn't arm themselves with the most powerful pokemon available to them? Oh, right... The kind who saw pokemon as treasured friends with free agency and all that... He snarled in frustration before collecting himself.

"Is that so," he huffed. "Well, that certainly does put you at a disadvantage, doesn't it? As I recall, Reshiram's awakening was the only reason you and your pokemon walked away alive all those years ago. Do you remember that feeling of being so close to utter failure? I wonder if it's a familiar feeling now. How long until Reshiram senses the danger you're in and comes to the rescue? How long before you can no longer bear the suffering of your pokemon and call in your only hope of survival? I guess we'll see which comes first."

He pulled another pokeball from his coat and released Toxicorak alongside his Bastiodon. He was aware that the use of Hyperbeam left Hilda's Stoutland open to attack and now was not the time to play fair.

"Close Combat," he ordered and the Toxicroak charged forth in its assault.

Royal Ball AU Headcanon Dump

- Hilda is a commoner living in an incredibly small town just outside of the kingdom’s capital. She is the daughter of Cara and Ethan White. Cara is a cleric that has become decently well known for her talent in healing magic, being able to assist both humans and pokemon with her skills. Her familiar is an Audino. Ethan lacks an aptitude for magic, but is a scholar that travels amongst the kingdom and neighboring allied areas conducting research regarding the connection of pokemon and people, as well as the history of it. He has a particular interest in the deities, but has never (knowingly) met them nor any human he knows is favored by one. His familiars are a Leafeon and Stoutland.

- Like her father, Hilda does not have an aptitude for magic despite also having two familiars- A Dewott named Percy and a young Umbreon named Shadow. She is an aspiring scholar and frequently joins Ethan on his travels and assists with his research. Like him, she has a special interest in the deities but is far more curious about how the bond amongst them and humans they choose to favor works. She wishes to help strengthen the bonds between humans and pokemon. Hilda is also very skilled at first aid as a result of assisting her mother frequently her entire life.

- It is on one of her travels with her father that she unknowingly encounters Zekrom. At this point the deity of ideals has not chosen a hero in living memory. Rumor has it that he has not favored a human in centuries, as he only wishes to favor someone who would not abuse his knowledge and power in any manner. Someone who is truly selfless and his favor would not alter such. After getting lost from her father while exploring ruins, she stumbled upon the dark stone, and Zekrom appeared not long after. He studies her, and after judging her intentions grants her his favor. This occurs mere weeks before the royal ball to commemorate @unovasrose ‘s birthday.

- After earning Zekrom’s favor Hilda develops an aptitude for electric magic. However, she lacks adequate control over it currently. This is something the deity is assisting her with. It is not uncommon for one to note a sense of static periodically around Hilda, particularly if she is anxious.

- As Zekrom is close with Reshiram ( @truthborne​), Athos ( @justicesworn), and Aevus ( @timeblooded​ ) and already attending Princess Rosa’s ball, he insists Hilda attend alongside him. So she does and does her best to not stick out like a sore thumb as she does not wish to embarrass Zekrom in any fashion. After all, many are curious as to who the identity of the deities favored is.

Only ones that fit his specific brand. Persian but not Meowth (heresy), Glameow but not Purugly. Flareon because of its vibes. Gardevoir, not Gallade. None are trained especially well.

Oh and DEFINITELY Purrloin/Liepard.

Arke

Probably more practical ones, like Pokemon that could help him with his chores or jobs. So Timbur, Mudsdale, mon like that. But also Cubone for reasons :)

So I guess he'd prefer rock/ground or normals types

She basically becomes a horse girl (like she isn't?) Rapidash, Mudsdale (probs her first), Zebstrika. All of which she raised up from little babies. And to round it out she'd have a flying type to get her around.

He's the type of guy who would have like six of the same Pokemon because aesthetics and/or he loves them. Probably Dreepy or something.

Emil

He'd probably be that one guy who keeps all his Pokemon at their first evolutions. So Pichu, Ralts, Skitty. And/or he'd have every single evee evolution to be fancy.

Ettia

I was gonna make this joke with Lokeira but then I realised Ettia would genuinely have a Sylveon so... Trans Pokemon for trans trainer.

But in general... A lot of water Pokemon like Lapras, Mantine, Milotic, etc.

Gwyn

Just funky guys. A Quilfish for sure (he named it Ettia), Togepi, Mawile (my beloved), Xatu, Spoink, and a Wynaut. Probably skews more fairy or Psychic.

He'd be a grass/poison trainer. Because uhhhh applications to medicine or something I guess.

She'd probably have a bunch of Unknown because IF Pokemon existed in rott they'd probably show up in the Waylands. Also probably a Numel/Camerupt, a Trapinch, a Hippowdon and a Sandile.

She WOULD NOT catch dragon types for religious reasons but she would be friends with them :)

They'd have like five Seviper, Serperior and Arbok and then a random mimikyu just hanging out or something.
