Royal Ball AU Headcanon Dump

- Hilda is a commoner living in an incredibly small town just outside of the kingdom’s capital. She is the daughter of Cara and Ethan White. Cara is a cleric that has become decently well known for her talent in healing magic, being able to assist both humans and pokemon with her skills. Her familiar is an Audino. Ethan lacks an aptitude for magic, but is a scholar that travels amongst the kingdom and neighboring allied areas conducting research regarding the connection of pokemon and people, as well as the history of it. He has a particular interest in the deities, but has never (knowingly) met them nor any human he knows is favored by one. His familiars are a Leafeon and Stoutland.

- Like her father, Hilda does not have an aptitude for magic despite also having two familiars- A Dewott named Percy and a young Umbreon named Shadow. She is an aspiring scholar and frequently joins Ethan on his travels and assists with his research. Like him, she has a special interest in the deities but is far more curious about how the bond amongst them and humans they choose to favor works. She wishes to help strengthen the bonds between humans and pokemon. Hilda is also very skilled at first aid as a result of assisting her mother frequently her entire life.

- It is on one of her travels with her father that she unknowingly encounters Zekrom. At this point the deity of ideals has not chosen a hero in living memory. Rumor has it that he has not favored a human in centuries, as he only wishes to favor someone who would not abuse his knowledge and power in any manner. Someone who is truly selfless and his favor would not alter such. After getting lost from her father while exploring ruins, she stumbled upon the dark stone, and Zekrom appeared not long after. He studies her, and after judging her intentions grants her his favor. This occurs mere weeks before the royal ball to commemorate @unovasrose ‘s birthday.

- After earning Zekrom’s favor Hilda develops an aptitude for electric magic. However, she lacks adequate control over it currently. This is something the deity is assisting her with. It is not uncommon for one to note a sense of static periodically around Hilda, particularly if she is anxious.

- As Zekrom is close with Reshiram ( @truthborne​), Athos ( @justicesworn), and Aevus ( @timeblooded​ ) and already attending Princess Rosa’s ball, he insists Hilda attend alongside him. So she does and does her best to not stick out like a sore thumb as she does not wish to embarrass Zekrom in any fashion. After all, many are curious as to who the identity of the deities favored is.

mishanks mafia au where shanks is the don of the gol family and and mihawk is a hitman hired by the government (it's a conspiracy!) to kill shanks.

when mihawk shows up, shanks puts up a great fight, and even tho shanks loses (he's on the ground with hawk's blade at his throat!), mihawk decides shanks is way funner than the government and doesn't kill him after all. mihawk intends for this to be the end, with exception for perhaps more fights in the future, but shanks has already fallen on love and starts trying his damndest to get mihawk to work for the gols.

mihawk always refuses, but when the government puts out a hit on mihawk because he broke contract, mihawk finds himself thoroughly protected by the gol family anyways. shanks, however, doesn't save mihawk fast enough to spare the hitman some torture so, in retaliation, shanks brings down the entire government and exposes the conspiracy while he's at it, with the finale being a grand announcement that mihawk is his, actually, back the fuck off and don't try this again.

by the end, mihawk still doesn't work for the gols, but if he marries into the family, well. "there's still a difference, red." (shanks whines about this daily.)

as much as i love the legendborn fandom sometimes it really sucks to be a selnickbree shipper in here. sometimes you cannot talk about selnickbree without people popping into your notes like "omg no selbree/nickbree needs to be endgame" LIKE I GET IT. YOU DON'T LIKE SELNICKBREE. like you're allowed to dislike the ship but that doesn't mean you have to fight tooth and nail to defend yourself the second it's mentioned. like i think selnickbree is endgame and i don't particularly like selbree but if someone disagrees with me i leave them be! bc that's how it works! there is so much more to this series than what's going to be endgame so why is everyone always beefing over ships???

honestly i'm worried about march because if we do get selnick/selnickbree some of yall are not going to take it well. but like this is tracy deonn we're talking about. let her cook and if you don't like what she's cooking? maybe this series isn't for you.

Furina storms off after pushing him, leaving him drenched to the bone and sitting awkwardly in the waters of the Fountain of Lucine with naught to do but contemplate his long lasting memories. Remembering the way she would smile is an easy endeavor. Furina always looked sincere when smiling; perhaps he wasn't looking hard enough, but surely even fleeting moments between just the two of them had to have brought her some amount of happiness, as small as it may be.

He thinks of one long ago night, during the third century of her reign. Actually, right on the cusp of the new milestone, he recalls the Palais had been eerily silent after wrapping up a week of festivities held in Furina's honor. The people of Fontaine were still celebrating, and would be doing so until the early hours of the morning, but all was still within the Palais. Except for them, that is. She had supposedly retired to her bedchambers, and him to his office, yet the two had bumped into each other within the kitchen.

"Let's go to the Opera," she had told him, in lieu of answering when he asked what she was doing. He supposes that the flecks of pastry crumbs on her clothes answered that, and he didn't ask other questions such as why she wanted to go to the Opera. He followed her as willingly as if she had simply asked for the time.

(Their whole relationship had been like that, hadn't it? A duty that extended beyond just an Archon and her Iudex. He once heard the Traveler mention a sea of flowers at the end of the world, and should Furina declare that she would like to see such a sight, he would tear down Celestia just to make it happen.)

Furina had packed a basket of food to bring, and two bottles of wine to go with. Then they partook perhaps more than they should've, and perhaps he should've questioned if Archons can get drunk, or if a Sovereign should be getting drunk with one. He definitely should have stopped her from going into the storerooms of the Epiclese and procuring even more for them. The memories start to get a little hazy after that, but he can vaguely recall a remark she made about the location not being the best choice, and that she wanted to get away from something. He can't recall who made the decision to go up, and have him help carry her as they climb to the roof, but suspects it was still her doing.

As clear as day, though, he can remember her smile, bathed in the light of the slowly rising sun as it crested over the waters of her dominion. Out of every beautiful sight in Fontaine, she is the one he gets to appreciate most often, but never before in a light like this. He could gaze at that moment for another hundred years and never tire of it. "Dragon of the waters," she had called him, "might you allow an Archon to call you theirs?"

Should she have asked him that at the start of her reign, should they have been in a similar situation, the answer would be clear. He might have even wondered, with the walls of the Court to block them from their peoples' sights, if an Archon so in love with her people would fall like one if he shoved her. But they were not in the past, and he already knew by then that he had come to love her, and thus his answer was "I was under the belief that I already was yours, Lady Furina, both within my capacity as your Chief Justice and without. The people of Fontaine adore you, yet it is my love for you that truly knows no bounds. Nothing would make me happier than to be yours."

"They do, don't they," she had whispered, a note he almost lost to time with how he just barely could hear her. "Promise me this, Neuvillette, if you wish to be mine- promise you will never stray from your duties to Fontaine, and you will always, always, do what is best for her people."

"I will."

"And promise that you will stay by my side forever, then, for another three centuries and beyond that, even if you grow tired of me!"

"Of course, Furina, is... is something the matter?"

It was the first time he had seen her come close to crying, droplets of tears clumping her eyelashes together yet disappearing as she blinked, "Oh, you silly dragon, only the fact that you make me ever so happy."

Leaving the warmth of the memory behind, Neuvillette returns to the cold of an overcast sky dripping with sleet, as a blue silhouette leaves him behind and disappears into the cloudy distance.
