Big yap warning
I keep thinking about the possibility of some ghouls not getting ghoul strength bc of another character too. But I was thinking, if Kaito had ghoul strength I feel like he would be way less pathetic and even try to show off for mc? I don't think he would be as much of a coward as he is currently if he had ghoul strength, the only times he attempts to fight is when he has his weapon.
Another thing I thought about which is why I'm kinda convinced that leo might not have ghoul strength or even trusts himself is because of the scene where we first see him calling sho to help him out. He never attacks and stalls for the longest time just waiting for sho to come save him. I feel like if he did trust himself enough to fight back, he might have been done with the guy and said to sho "took you long enough, i already too care of him by myself 😒," because I don't think leo would have the patience to wait that long if he could take care of it himself? It was only one guy after all. I do get tho that maybe the guy could come back with the precieved notion that Leo couldn't defend himself and would try to get back at him when he's alone but gets beat up.
I do also think that leo is trying to make himself look weaker than he actually is, it could either be because he wants guard dogs or because he wants to keep expectations low so that in a fight people would underestimate him. But I also get this feeling that he's scared of being hurt so he doesn't even try, I don't think we've ever seen him try to engage in combat because he always tries to hand it off to someone else. It could be a stupid reason like "omgg I don't wanna get bruises on my arms :///" or like he doesn't want his fears of being too weak to defend himself be confirmed.
It also makes me think of how he is with sho and how he tries so hard to isolate him. There's a sense of "I can't lose him bc what will happen to me if I do?" If leo can't defend himself against one person, what could he do against the hordes of enemies that he's made throughout his life?
I feel like him wanting both sho and alan to think of him as weak could come from a place of "yes do my bidding" and also maybe even necessity? I think there's a lot of possibilities here
"I have Sho and Alan so you can't hurt me"
"I have the strongest men under my thumb so that makes me the strongest"
"Extra defenses just in case everyone tries to kill me"
"Sekai de ichiban ohime sama ✨️"
Sometimes I wonder if Leo's actually weak or if he's just pretending so he can have a big strong man do everything for him
I mean, ghouls are supposed to be stronger than normal people
But damn asking for help with a bottle is really erm...
#sorry for all the yapping#im very invested in leos character#hes so facinating :3c#i think its also like as an outside audience we know a lot about him but not what hes thinking#we know hes toxic and manipulative but i wanna know why?#is he doing it consciously or just acting out of his own interest?#does he know how much he values sho or does he not realize his own jealousy?#hes so AHHHHHHH#leo kurosagi#tokyo debunker leo#tokyo debunker headcanons#i need to crack open his skull and look in his head

It was a matter of time. Hibiko wasn't an idiot and knew better than to think history would never repeat itself, or that those in power were always the first to be blamed. She just naively wished to not have to take part in it so directly: the boring parades of strength, these grandiose acts of implied violence. Of course there was a necessity for any large force of authority to have some type of flex of power, but that didn't mean she had to like it.
Unfortunately though, it did mean she had to take part in it. "Your Royal Highness." A burly man spoke up with a knight standing beside him, already in a deep bow as Hibiko adjusted the bored expression on her face to be more pleasant. "Please allow me to introduce you to Sir Bastet. The King and Queen have decided he will be by your side from now on during public events and when the home has guests."
The immediate shock on her face was obvious, the weak smile not having far to fall. Wide eyes studied the large man as he excused himself and quickly went off to other duties. But why this as well on top of everything else? If her family was innocent of the accusations thrown at them, and the truth was bound to come out and clear the air, then why the unnecessary and intrusive precaution?
Hibiko's stare returned to the knight, all too aware of the semi-public spectacle being made of her at that moment, wanting nothing more than to reject his presence and demand a proper explanation from her parents. Yet instead, while a fire was lit in her eyes, she perfectly controlled every tensed muscle in her body that she could. The princess gave a polite curtsy, and in a plain, flat tone, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

featuring: natasha, welt yang, asta & sampo x gn!reader.
summary: hsr characters and their favorite love language with their partner! <3
warnings: spoilers about natasha if you are a beginner, and spoilers about welt yang.
a/n: hi there everybody!! this is my first official work here on tumblr and to say that i am nervous is such an understatement bc I AM SO SCARED HAHAHA. please be mindful throughout this post that i am not caught up with the game, and am not completely knowledgeable about hi3 or hsr lore. i'm pretty confident that almost all of the characters are in-character, sampo is really the only one i'm unsure of, so apologies in advance. i wanted to give natasha a break bc man she deserves one udbfoein. not proofread btw so have mercy on me for grammatical errors. i may or may not make different parts of this or make platonic/familial versions of how the characters would show their love for their friends/family, so if anyone is interested in that, please let me know!! this is also my first time doing a post like this so please be kind. ;; i'm excited to hopefully make new friends from this!! enjoy all of the fluff! <3

natasha ♡ quality time.
natasha is always up on her feet, tirelessly working to tend to her patients and taking care of any necessities around the underworld. it is very rare that this woman is able to get a moment's rest, and as the leader of wildfire, she feels as though she cannot show weakness. she has to set an example for all of the children that she takes care of, and all of the underworld's citizens. if she falters, then they will start to worry and panic. she cannot have that. as stressful as her day-to-day life can be, she is incredibly grateful that she is able to help so many people. she loves to tend to the sick and carry out her duties so that she can guide her people to a better future.
however, when it comes to you, she feels as though she can let her guard down, when all of the children are asleep, and all of her duties for the day are done. she flops down onto your shared bed and softly sighs. you would lay by her side, her eyes closed, but she is content knowing that you are close to her. the nights that the two of you spend together are the nights where she feels most at peace. they are one of the moments that she holds of most importance, for they are the moments where she remembers that she is just oh so lucky to have you. whether if it's snuggling in bed together, which she thoroughly enjoys because she gets to snuggle up into your chest and relax, or sharing a meal, what is most important to her is that it is your time together to spend however you wish.
she feels like she can breathe with you near her; you soothe her in ways that no ordinary person could. there is something about your presence that causes every muscle in her body to ease, and she cannot help but smile whenever she sees you. there isn't much time for date nights given her positions, and you working alongside oleg as acting leader surely makes everything much harder, but you two try to make time for nice outings whenever you can because you both love going out to do things together.
to her, it doesn't even matter if you go out to do something. even if the two of you aren't doing anything together. she is just happy with you reading next to her while she's practicing stitching up her teddy bear. or when she's reading through paperwork and you're reorganizing some of the shelves and drawers around the clinic. being in your presence is all she needs in order to feel loved by you.
welt yang ♡ acts of service.
admittedly, welt is quite the romantic. there has always been a part of him that has been fond of the idea of finding someone right for him in this dimension. he never really made a priority for it, he never actively seeked out a partner. it has always been something that every once in a while, he would think of and smile about. it is a very small, personal part of him, but part of him nevertheless. and it blossomed to life when he met you. the part of him that wanted a person to spoil, to care for and to make their every wish came true really came to light.
anytime you say you want or need something, you better believe that he offers to grab it for you. not to say that he doesn't believe that you aren't capable of doing things for yourself; he just likes offering and if you accept, taking out those tasks for you. you want a drink or something to eat? what would you like? he'll get it for you. you're about to enter/exit any building? he's rushing ahead of you to open the door for you. something hurts? where? he'll give you a massage. your room is dirty and you need to clean it? with your permission, he will clean and organize it for you just the way you like it. he'll make sure to put things where he knows you're going to remember them too. you've been feeling down recently? he puts sticky-notes on the bathroom mirror for you to remind you how wonderful you are and how much he loves you. and it is guaranteed that when you are dating welt, that he has drawings in his sketchbook filled with you. he loves every single detail of you, and wants to commit them all to memory. he even made characters for one of his personal animation projects based off of you and him. when he showed them to you to see your reaction, and to gain your approval to have them in the first place, you were smitten and he received many, many kisses to the face.
welt absolutely worships the ground that you walk on. wherever you are, he always makes sure that you are comfortable, happy, healthy and safe. he does everything in his power to take care of you, even though he knows that you are perfectly capable of taking care of yourself. he firmly believes in "actions speak louder than words". he likes to show his dedication and love for you through his actions. he reminds you every single day through his actions just why you fell for him, and he reminds you everyday how much he loves you. he will continue to do so, until the multiverse falls apart.
asta ♡ words of affirmation.
originally i was going to say that her love language is gift giving, seeing as she has so much money, she wants to be able to give as much as she can. she gives money to the space station to help with repairs, so why wouldn't she want to spoil the heck out of you?! however, upon taking a little peak at her lore, she is actually insecure about her riches. i feel as though she wouldn't want you to think that she's some snobby bigshot just because she has a wealthy family, so while she would get gifts for you, she would worry about what exactly she got and how much of it costed, and what you would possibly think of her if you got something that was deemed "too expensive" by society. she doesn't want you to think less of her. so, after looking at the five primary love languages, my next thought was words of affirmation.
asta seems like the type of girlfriend to enjoy both receiving and giving reassurance, kind words and compliments. in her times of stress, what she really needs is for you to put your hand on her shoulder and tell her that she'll figure everything out and that it will be okay. she looks to you with worried eyes, placing her hand over yours. she wouldn't say a word, her eyes tell you what she wants to say. "how can you be so sure? what if i don't figure this out? what if i get kicked off of the space station? what if-" a thousand thoughts run through her head at all times, and when she's stressed, the volume cranks up to one-hundred. it is only with you telling her that it'll be alright, and that you will be by her side the entire time that she is able to feel more at ease. your words mean everything to her.
she also loves to give reassurance. when you are feeling worried or anxious, she is quick to hop in and listen to whatever may be troubling you. she always tells you that it will all work out, and that she is always going to be there for you. she will never leave your side, she says, and she loves you with every ounce of her heart. she also wraps you up in compliments; when you change up your appearance somehow, whether if it's from clothes, hair, make-up or other changes, she will always point it out to you and tell you that she thinks that you are the most beautiful person in the whole world. or, when the two of you are laying together at night, she will tell you just how good of a heart you have. she will tell you how proud she is of you and of the progress that you have made since she first met you. she will tell you just how enthralled she is with you, and how you make her heart want to squeeze and stop in her chest. she will tell you exactly how she feels about you, and it is overwhelmingly lovely, because you know that every word she speaks, she means it from the bottom of her heart. and in turn, you try your best to do the same when you can. she is always grateful to hear your words of praise and adoration for her, even if it's something small. a simple "i'm here for you" will make her happy, because she knows that you mean what you say. gosh, she just loves you so much that she doesn't know how to handle it. your love is genuine, true and real, and speaking of that love to each other makes asta feel like she's floating in a cloud's soft embrace.
sampo koski ♡ gift receiving.
when it comes to showing his affection for you, he is always buying you things whenever he can. jumping from job to job all of the time can lead to strain with his finances, but he is able to make good money often enough to the point where he is able to buy nice gifts for you. he has become used to taking things from people without thinking twice, so when you first started dating, he gave you stolen things. buuuttt you were very unhappy about it; not because of the gift itself, but because of the fact that he stole it. so you told him very firmly that you would not accept anything that he stole. he respected your wishes, of course, and started to buy you things ethically.
receiving gifts became a regular thing for you. sampo would come home after a long day of working around belobog, hand you whatever little trinket he managed to get his handa on and say, "for you, baby~". you are always grateful for everything that he gives you, and one day, you thought to return the favor. so, while you were out and about one day, you saw a really cute pin of a puppy. when you saw it, it automatically made you think of sampo. so, you bought it, and planned to give it to him when he came home that night.
when nighttime rolled around, he busted the doors open and called, "HONEYYY, IIIII'M HOOOOOOME!!~" in a silly way before laughing to himself and taking his shoes off. you rush up to him, the man opening his arms for you as you hop up to hug him. you share a kiss, then move back out of his arms with a little grin on your face. he noticed the look and asked what was up, then you told him that you had a gift for him. he was caught off-guard, admittedly, as he didn't expect such a pleasant surprise. he tried to act humbly at first, telling you that you didn't need to do that for lil ol' sampo! he's the one that supposed to be spoiling you, after all! but you shut that down immediately and insisted that he takes your gift. he couldn't say no to how excited you looked to give him something, he asked what it was, and you told him to close his eyes. he did, and when he opened them, there it was! in your hands was the cutest little puppy pin he has ever seen in his life.
he took a moment to speak or move as his usual cocky attitude melted away. his eyes became glossy and his lip started to tremble. he was so touched by the fact that you were thinking of him so much that you got him a gift. you asked if he was okay, as he never cried around you before, and he quickly wiped his nose and eyes on his sleeve and sniffled. he assured you that he was okay before taking the pin from you and cooing about how cute it was. seriously, it was so freaking adorable, how did you even get your hands on this??? he asked why you chose it for him, and when you told him that it looked like him, he caved and gave you a bone-crushing hug. his sobs were quiet and he sniffled. the idea of you seeing such an adorable little treasure and thinking that you wanted, no, you needed to get it for him just makes his heart crumble in the best way possible. needless to say, he wears that pin everywhere he goes and never takes it off. it is on him at all times, as are all of the other wearable gifts that you got for him after that. he cherishes every single thing that you give him, and he wants to be able to show you that no matter how big or small it is, he will love it forever. just as he will love you.

unstable universe is unstabling my universe p1
Everyone say thank you Pluto for encouraging my insanity! Please note I'm solely discussing Wemmbu’s character (and PrinceZam somewhat) in Unstable Universe from a lore standpoint. (This will be a mix of my own hc and how Ive perceived the events on the server- also i've literally only watched Wemmbu and am doing this from memory so bear with me)
God I have so many thoughts on UU!Wemmbu (and Mutiny Duo) dear lord. Like, the necessity of constantly being forced to put up a front due to the hunger games-esque environment of the server, the paranoia that has you looking over your shoulder, presenting yourself as a threat, making sure that you can back that statement as much as you can because if you’re seen as weak then you’re might as well dead.
We see this in Wemmbu who, let's all be honest with ourselves, cares about the people around him (obviously to a degree, bc of the nature of the server) and the struggle between showing that care and taking care of himself. Like, the amount of times Wemmbu has threatened to ban someone and yet never followed through is Crazy. This man literally has never carried through with a death threat, and the reason why no one realizes that is because of the “infallible” persona he plays up, and his team-up with Zam’s crusade where they chunk-banned several players. Chunk-bans!! A temporary removal!! Someone needs to call him out for his empty threats. This man literally jumped into an arena to save Roshambo from FlameFrags because it was a losing battle and Roshambo was in danger of getting death-banned. He didn't need to. He already confirmed ManePear’s information and solidified their allyship. He didn't need to stick around. He didn't need to put himself in danger. Wemmbu knows he can't fight Flame and win, he actively compensates for those situations and avoids them without extensive planning Because he knows that.
(Note: I am aware that he killed Tyrad, but consider that was a 3? 4? vs 1 fight on a server where players expect you to fight tooth and nail to live whether it be through totems, stasis chambers, escape, etc. When Wemmbu drops Tyrad there was genuine shock, muted or not. He didn't expect someone to Actually die. Reflecting on it is obviously not an option, he’s in the middle of breaking into a prison with several guards on his tail. Guards, who mind you, are stocked with the necessary effects for a fight. Additionally, when engaging in pvp Wemmbu tends to fight with the intention of escape, not actually killing his opponent.)
Of course, despite the violent nature of UU, developing a genuine relationship with other players is inevitable. Wemmbu makes several comments about ‘if he wanted to play alone, he'd load a single-player world.’ (Obviously a bit meta, but you know what I’m getting at.) And we see him do that. I’m mostly going to be focusing on PrinceZam and Eggchan as those (at least to me) are the most developed relationships, but there are hints of thought and care aimed at players we don't see too often.
As I mentioned before, there's a struggle to show genuine care for a person on a server that will see that as a weakness and immediately exploit it. And we see that struggle between Zam and Wemmbu, who, despite consistently being at odds with each other, find satisfaction in that relationship. Sure, both of them are walking red flags, but there is genuine care in how they feel about each other, even if they're constantly holding back in order to maintain whatever image they've created for themselves. They're rivals. They constantly snarking, they're at each other's throats, they call out for each other in a fight, they make sure they have a full inventory (potions, gaps, enchant bottles, etc). They dress their worry with a lackadaisical attitude and are steadfast in believing that it's just that, even when their actions become entirely unnecessary. Wemmbu had a monopoly on the elytra, makes a point about it, yet easily gives one to Zam at the most logical opportunity (and then proceeds to give literally all of them to him sir wtf?? Crazy behavior I would never). Zam allows Wemmbu to treat him as someone other than a king, he lets him use the mace even if he was the one who got the heavy core; he trusts Wemmbu to have his back. Wemmbu traded the mace for Zam’s life not even knowing if it would work. They show love in the only way the server allows. And sometimes that care becomes too genuine, and they force themselves to pull back.
“I’d never betray you- unless it's convenient.”
To reiterate, both Wemmbu and Zam have a plethora of issues, both are incredibly unreliable narrators who barely trusted each other but got very close. “I’d never betray you,” Wemmbu was too honest, that’s dangerous. “Unless it's convenient,” while definitely holding a modicum of truth, the statement feels so tacked on. Letting players know that you're attached to someone or something? Hell no. But even if he didnt mean it entirely and was mostly trying to save face (dare I say warn Zam from getting close?) he still said it. And of course Zam, who came from nothing and has built an empire, who has successfully worked to become someone who cannot be taken advantage of, who knows exactly how soft his underbelly and how to ensure no one else finds out, fixates on that. How can’t he? This is a man who, with every step, is looking back and allowing his history to haunt him. This is something that clashes so loudly with Wemmbu, who can't afford to think about the past, who can only change the present, who must persevere forward. Until Zam blows up the kingdom he asked Wemmbu to build.
(Note: This analysis? Idk what im doing anymore im just yapping- Is more focused on Wemmbu than Zam, but I am aware that he likely has own complicated perspective that plays into his actions.)
At first the change in their relationship is subtle, small shows of power from Zam, a reminder that he is a king. Then it becomes sickly familiar tactics, tactics that Wemmbu has always accompanied, never faced. Their rivalry turned sour, every interaction they have haunted with what used to be. Wemmbu, who cares so much, watches the physical manifestation of his loyalty to Zam be blown up and thrown in his face, ‘my sweet, sweet Wemmbu’. He was used, manipulated, underestimated by someone who he, against all odds, cared for. Hate begins to fester, Wemmbu calls it a betrayal. You can't betray someone who didn't mean anything to you first.
And then we’re able to witness unfiltered care between Wemmbu and Eggchan. We watch the pretense of the “infallible” player fall as he dresses himself in diamond, giving the netherite to his friend instead. As he ensures Egg’s safety in his schemes, as he trusts Egg to have his back, takes fights he knows he cant take so that Egg has more time to get out. And that loyalty is reciprocated tenfold. Egg is allowed numerous opportunities to leave, yet he chooses to stay despite the hardships. It's everything that was just out of reach for Zam and Wemmbu. (There's definitely a lot more to talk about but this is already gonna be so long). Egg won't stand by as his friend begins to come undone at the seams. He wont play into the cutthroat game this server has spun itself into. Which of course has consequences. While off on their chunk-banning crusade Zam and Wemmbu inevitably learned what made the other person tick. Kidnapping Egg was just another move on the chessboard bc god forbid that even if they hate each other, they take their eyes off each other for a second.
This functions as the last straw, one last ditch attempt from Wemmbu in his war with Zam, he can't promise success but he sure as hell makes sure that he hits where it hurts. He blows his kingdom sky-high. And eye for an eye and a debt settled.
And then Zam apologizes. It's not necessarily out of the blue, for all the hurt he’s enacted on Wemmbu he's kept him alive for one reason or another (they are emotionally constipated dumbasses who care about each other and refuse to admit it). This changes everything and nothing. Despite the genuine admittance of grief and regret, the two don't pull their punches. They can only guess how many totems they've popped and how many are left. They switch foils. For a brief moment Zam does not allow his past to haunt him, ‘I don't want to accidentally kill you.’ Wemmbu, for all his persevering, for all his ability to focus on what he can do now, cannot let go of their past. For the first time, Wemmbu does want to kill a player.
We’ll never find out if he wouldve carried through.
(ending this now bc this is too long and i have even more to say about the prison eps tbh, havent written in out yet tho T-T)
#scared to make this post btw lmao#i probably misunderstood a couple of events but thats ok#i find enjoyment in this and thats what matters#tee hee#anyways actual tags#paddy.rambles#unstable universe#wemmbu#unstableverse#princezam#eggchan#mutiny duo

Queen Lucinda Edevane
Pretends my Discord ramblings make any sense and throws one of my OCs at you. LORE dump below:
Sort of a brief preface but imagine my universe is Avatar the Last Airbender if every Nation had an Avatar of Each Element. And there are no non-benders! Everyone can use some degree of said magic. And that they needed all said Avatars to work together to defeat the ultimate Evil Entity, because doing it alone/without Avatar powers have proved to be impossible for centuries. If anyone has played FFX it's very much the same concept of "there is a recurring darkness that we are stuck in a perpetual cycle trying to defeat bc the main characters haven't arrived yet" ---
So there are Avatars of Five Elements for my universe: Lighting/Storm(kinda broad but imagine like,,airbending/lightning bending combined) Water/Ice/Sea (Any liquid tbh) Earth/Nature (stone/earth/leaves/plants), Lunar (magic moonbeams babyyy), Solar (cast fireball) < -- the missing element is Solar, and it's been gone for hundreds of years, never choosing an 'Avatar' (ive been calling them 'Arbiters') and nobody knows where the source of the Element is to try and 'persuade' it to choose another "Host" (Enter Samantha Sinclair, but that's another part of the story)
SO ALL THAT SAID:
HERE is one of my Deuteragonists MOMS. She's part of the LONG line of magic users whose bloodline has always been chosen by the source of Lunar Magic. RE: There's always been a rich royal Lunar Magic 'Arbiter', for generations. It seems to be 'passed down' the line. Maybe they have a whole 'Choosing Ritual' (even tho that's not how the magic works, rich people be silly and privelaged).
So she is in what is the Royal Family of this world. While all the elemental nations have their own leadership, the Lunar Kingdom/Nation/Etc has the most powerful magic/and the family kind of rules everyone because of that. Targaryens vs other Houses ala Game of Thrones.
When she is young, Lucinda (that's her name) <- is SECOND in line to inherit the throne, should her brother (who is the Arbiter of Lunar magic at that time) die. WELL, turns out he does, meaning the Lunar Kingdom loses both it's Arbiter and it's heir in one fell swoop to a bad battle with the Ambiguous Evil Forces I haven't come up with yet.
So OOPS she's suddenly saddled with responsibility she wasn't supposed to have, which is in this world less of a "ok you're queen now go produce a male heir" and more of a "oh you're queen now, and ALSO you better make sure this Arbiter nonsense stays in our bloodline".
So that kinda sucks for her -- her consolation prize is being allowed to marry the captain of her Kingsgaurd (straight bodygaurd AU ooooOOOoo) the only problem is---he's a weak ass magic user. So her family is a little sus that any kids they have would have a chance to be chosen as the next Arbiter. But she INSISTS, it's the one good choice she gets to make for herself bc oops she happens to genuinely love this guy
Anyway their first kid (Elias) ISSSSSSSSSSS --- not chosen. Firstborn, next in line, not the Arbiter. Very embarrassing for everyone involved. So kid number two, one of my deuteragonists, Lucy -- is more of a 'necessity', rather than a 'want' from her parents. And it shows in the strain in their relationship. Lucinda (Mom) (Lucille, 'Lucy' is literally named to echo her ) regrets her own choice to marry for love because she feels like she fucked up - she also resents having to take on that responsibility in the first place, so her attitude toward Lucy (who luckily WAS chosen as the Lunar Arbiter) is very "I fucked up hard so you better not blow this for us ---"
anyway. Here she is looking grumpy. the end.
#if you read any of this thank you!! ;;#oc#original character#original character art#i am working bare bones here#would be fun to make this inkling of an idea a web comic someday#when i get it fleshed out#lucinda edevane#oc universe#my art#lore dump

I want your personal whitney head cannons- like where he lives his relationships with the other li and his freinds and how he interacts with your pc-
I am honored you want my hcs for Whitney <3
General hcs
I love the idea he comes from a rich family that doesn't give a shit about him and only gives him the bare necessities to stay alive
He definitely has scars from all the fights he gets in
He's such a tsundere and is so bad at feelings
Desperately wants someone to care for him but will never voice it
We know from Vrel that some of his 'friends' actually care for him but I don't think he notices. He's so insecure and has to keep up his image that he just doesn't see it or is in denial that anyone would actually care for him
Is actually smart but doesn't give a shit about school
Used to read a lot to escape what goes on at home
now he just runs around causing chaos, drinking, and smoking
Relationships/how he feels about the other LIs
Relationship with Robin-
he doesn't like nor hate them
thinks they are beneath him
hates that PC pays their debts for them
does like their hot chocolate
Relationship with Kylar-
hates the creep
doesn't want them anywhere near PC
hell doesn't even want them to think of PC
Relationship with Pure!Sydney
Finds they annoying
hates when they manage to get marker on them for destroying a book
Shits on them for losing their virginity to a slut
but is also pissed it was his slut
just a lot of angry emotions
Relationship with Corrupt!Sydney
Still finds them annoying but in a different way
Now they have the courage to stand up to them and for PC
Is a lot angrier about them losing their virginity to PC bc Sydney rubs it in his face
Relationship with Alex
Who? Some country bumpkin, why should he care?

My friend and I are RPing O14 things centered around food right now so I figured I'd drop some thoughts to share here. Namely, the spice tolerance levels of the Iron Lords. Do you think it would carry over from their original lives? The thought of a chili eating contest amongst the group intrigues me. (Obviously Felwinter wouldn't count... Even if he could feel something from it I feel like his poker face would be too perfect. He is disqualified.)
This is a popular topic for conversation friends and I have also discussed!
*I would further disqualify Felwinter as he is noted canonically as not being interested in food at all/not subjected to the risk of DER and probably even entirely lacking the programming that typical Exo have to prevent it… like experiencing hunger.
That aside…
I think I agree with everyone else whose ever happily thrown Radegast under the bus as being black-pepper grade weak against any spice at all, strictly to see him kicked down a peg or 30.
I believe it was bestie Crafty along with Sylenth (friends with better memories than me correct me if I’m wrong or miss someone) that quickly convinced me it made good sense that Gheleon as a likely master huntsman and forager probably works magic with the bare basics but therefore doesn’t branch into spices much and as such doesn’t have much of a tolerance at all (but since he has a spine, does better than Raddy)
Timur I like to envision as a casual cook and have actually depicted prepping specifically curry. He likes a little warmth in his comfort food but I don’t think that threshold is remarkably high. Colovance has learned to tolerate what Timur cooks but his low tolerance was dragged up over time out of necessity.
Saladin I think can take a punch he’s getting into that realm where “not that spicy” to him is making the normie’s eyes water. Jolder can keep right up with him and might even have a higher tolerance if nothing else bc she’s competitive. Skorri is hot on their heels.
Osiris breathes fucking fire both literally and figuratively and utterly fails to notice. He would never share his food with any of the Iron Lords (Felwinter might be the exception but he knows Fel doesn’t want it so doesn’t offer) but if he did he would genuinely wonder why people’s eyes are incinerating out of their skulls on the first bite. That one time Colovance decided to be cheeky and steal from him he literally needed a rez.

Leverage character asks: 1,3,17,45 (your choice on character)
thank you for the ask & for fueling my leverage obsession lol <3
1. Canon I outright reject
honestly i love the character development on leverage, even when it means the character has some negative traits or weaknesses or something. hmm… i think one thing i disliked was hardison being a super bad tipper (some ep in s5). he doesn’t care about workers? particularly after five years of leverage? idk.
i also wish eliot didn’t seem to like cops so much, but thats more of a gripe with the show’s/showrunners’ attitudes towards police.
3. Obscure headcanon
sophie: that she’s trans! love that hc. shout out to @transsophiedevereaux. also that sophie had a drunken one night stand with maggie, which is actually (word of god) canon rather than a head canon, but seems to be rarely mentioned.
nate: nate x sophie x sterling… it’s happened at least once.
parker: so many!! but the one i’ll share is that. uh. she’s probably killed someone. pre-leverage, she’s known to be dangerous for a reason, and she’s been in a lot of awful situations unfortunately. she would probably have done so out of necessity, it might even have been self defense, but yk. it’s still killing someone. and no, i don’t mean the pilot flashback - according to word of god (ie john rogers) she probably didn’t kill her foster parents when exploding their house. anyway, i’ve seen some cool fics about this idea and discussed this topic w @laser-tripwires and i think it’s really interesting for a variety of reasons, but i won’t list them here bc this is already getting so long lol.
hardison: that he still secretly adds to nana’s income somehow (he canonically paid off her medical bills), that he plays D&D, that he likes [insert media beloved by geeks that i don’t really know much about, but i love that people hc him as enjoying the things they enjoy so much].
eliot: my own silly hc that many of his scars are actually from kitchen accidents rather than fights lol
17. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them
gonna answer this one for sophie only, cause i have quite a few answers just for her!
1) i saw a gif set of sophie once with the lyrics of "thief" by imagine dragons, and it was a really gorgeous gif set and the lyrics fit very well.
2) yk the fable "the scorpion and the frog"? at the end of s1, she seems to excuse her actions (conning the team) like the scorpion - that it’s just in her nature, lying is who she is, she’s a thief and this is what thieves do, etc. additionally, it’s what sterling says about her, that her behaviour was predictable because it’s "who she is".
3) the gambler by kenny rogers. bc the chorus is canonically her life philosophy lmao (according to the last dam job).
45. Their favorite celebrity
sophie: canonically, db cooper. she idolises him in the db cooper job lol. poster above her bed as a teenager etc etc.
nate: man, his would be oddly specific im sure. like he reads war strategy books, maybe sun tzu. or perhaps a chess grandmaster, like bobby fischer. i don’t know much about war strategists nor chess players, so if anyone does, then maybe you can suggest a more specific person.
hardison: i know he loves star trek, doctor who, star wars - im simply not pop culture savvy enough to know who his fave actors from those shows might be. BUT. i think it would be funny if his fave celebrity was wil wheaton (who was in star trek, and who, of course, played cha0s in leverage). also, wil wheaton is famously into D&D, video games, comics, and other "geek" stuff that hardison proudly enjoys too. hardison does not see the resemblance btwn wheaton and his nemesis, no idea what you’re taking about.
eliot: i think he would have people he looks up to or thinks are incredible, who are celebrities but only in a very specific field. like a renowned chef, but not a "celebrity chef" as in one who’s on tv. i mean like a chef who is famous among chefs, for being one of the most talented in the world.
parker: i feel her definition of celebrity would be somewhat different to most people’s. plus, her knowledge of the world is deep but narrow - she knows everything possible about thievery and anything even tangentially related (probably a decent amount of physics, for example), but pop culture? not so much. she later gets into stuff like dr who via hardison though, so perhaps the actor of the current doctor, ncuti gatwa. now, there’s also famous thieves, BUT they’re generally only famous because they eventually got caught. parker does not get caught. she would not idolise someone who ended up caught. maybe the thief of an unsolved heist. honestly, parker is famous in the leverage crime world. so. herself? not that she enjoys being a celebrity lol.

hey so remember when I said I was gonna hyperanalyze all the Toshihisa moments in that Shigezane story
anyway buckle up it's going down
a brief recap, to start!
the story starts with Shige and MC finding out that they're going to be meeting Toshihisa so that the Oda and Oshu can feel each other out. they decide to meet up more or less halfway at an inn which would be considered neutral territory for them both
MC is brought along to this despite her trepidations because she has heard of Toshihisa through Toshiie. this is... more or less meaningless as expected during their first meeting bc Toshihisa acts like himself and is stiff and formal at best, taciturn and stand-offish at worst
later that evening on day 1, however, MC runs into Toshihisa having an episode in the hall
though Toshihisa allows all of this out of necessity, he's clearly not happy about it whatsoever, in part because he feels like he's being a terrible burden upon mc
MC subsequently lets it slip that she is aware of the fact that he has a weak constitution and that his body is often unkind to him, which Toshihisa is less than amused about until he learns how MC came to know this little factoid
here is where things first get interesting!!!!!!!!!
this is a man who absolutely knows what MC means to his brother!! he is fully aware of the pining and the yearning his brother went through!! knowing that, it's no wonder that Toshihisa immediately brushes off MC's further attempts at kindness and tries to leave. this person who has just shown him incredible kindness and consideration, who already knows him well enough to know his weaknesses, this person whom Toshihisa has only heard wonderful things about, is dangerous to stay around!!
unfortunately for Toshihisa, his escape attempt from the conversation fails immediately and spectacularly:
enter Shigezane!!!!!!!
ignoring the ridiculous trope of "oh no! one of us fell on top of the other and now we're in a suspiciously compromising position that someone else might misconstrue!" Shigezane is truly a Chad here. like we all knew he was great but damn. what a man. instantly rushes to Toshihisa's aid while entirely ignoring the jealousy-bait bc ofc he trusts MC!!! even though we later learn that it freaked him out in the moment!!
this is also inconvenient for Toshihisa, however!!!
after all, Shigezane has no reason to be acting this kind and considerate opposite him, a near-stranger! Shigezane could have easily assumed the worst of him but he immediately rushed to his aid and even doubled down on the fact that not only should he always accept this amount of selflessness, he should continue to do so now, something he is clearly not used to (at least with near-strangers)
NOW WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO UNPACK ALL THAT..... but Toshihisa is clearly someone with a tremendous amount of guilt and baggage surrounding his health. at one point in this conversation, MC and Shigezane have a silent conference between the two of them before resolving to spend time with Toshihisa so that he'll have time to recover, and it's fairly obvious that Toshihisa catches on to this kindness pretty immediately
(pls also note one of my favorite dialogue choices for characters like Toshihisa illustrated here: the deadpan period-annotated question!!!!)
MC then leaves to get everyone blankets and tea only for Toshihisa to unexpectedly invite her into the conversation
(there's a small tidbit here that would allow for serious reading into with extremely plausible deniability, but if you squint it's possible to read this as disappointment that MC immediately sat next to Shigezane. at this point, after all, Toshihisa is unaware of the fact that the two are romantically involved; up until now, MC has only introduced herself as a maid at Omori Castle)
the two get to talking more, some about Toshihisa's health, and Shigezane goes out of his way to once again thank Toshihisa for traveling all that way in spite of his health, which earns him this delightful response that is then!! quickly amended!!!:
that first remark is classic Toshihisa. it's possible to construe his follow-up as just a matter of necessary politeness, but I really don't think so!! mainly because he never feels the need to add little remarks like that in literally any other instance
from there, the conversation shifts to MC's knowledge of Toshihisa via Toshiie, and Shigezane, seeming to have caught on to the fact that Toshihisa and MC are gelling particularly well, remarks on this... only for Toshihisa to immediately deny it.
... or does he?
the narration mentions that he does so "coldly," (even if MC quickly amends this), so I'd just straight up call that a defense mechanism!! anything to keep people at arm's length, you know!!
needless to say, this fails almost immediately
MC puts him in a difficult position here. he tries to push people away and keep them at arm's length (further if possible tbh), but this girl already knows him in certain ways just by merit of knowing his brother. there's an almost artificial closeness here, one that trumps his earlier attempt at brushing it off considerably
not to mention that this random girl knows quite a lot of things about his brother that Toshihisa himself doesn't know. another reason to talk to her and keep her around!! this is terrible!!!
fast-forward to the next morning, and Toshihisa gets an unfortunate awakening in the form of learning that MC and Shigezane are together
he pulls himself together pretty quickly (he is a professional tsun, after all), but we don't see that expression too often on Toshihisa. this must have really, really taken him aback for SOME reason!!!
(if at this point anyone is calling me delusional for reading into things this much I invite you to remember that a) this is an otome game, b) these event stories very much centered on the concept of jealousy, and c) what you're about to learn)
the three of them head into town after Toshihisa invites them to one of his favorite teahouses, where, even though Toshihisa is third-wheeling, we find out that Toshihisa is extremely adept at pining from afar:
Shigezane notices this immediately, because!! lbr!! how could he not!!!!
as happy as he ends up being in that scene regarding the praise MC receives, he is not super duper thrilled at the way in which Toshihisa is looking at her and tbh I can't blame him!!! this guy is clearly falling for his girl, and fast!!!
this event story obviously features unrequited pining here, Toshihisa → MC, but shortly after this, MC gets so distracted thinking about Toshihisa that she trips on a rock:
Shigezane feels jealous enough after this point that he runs away in shame and MC has to run to catch up to him with Toshihisa following rather closely behind, which... why??? WHY WOULD HE FOLLOW THEM IF NOT BC HIS OWN FEELINGS ARE PART OF THIS???
the other option here ofc is that he feels personally responsible for Shigezane's state, in which case he would be extremely well-aware of exactly how he's been looking at and acting opposite MC!!!
Shigezane says quite a bit more than this before Toshihisa cuts in, most of it him berating himself for being jealous to begin with and being rude to Toshihisa, but what's important here is the part where Shigezane said the quiet part out loud!!!!!!!
presumably, Toshihisa overheard this!!!!! and then he DOES NOT DENY IT
instead he chooses to make me increasingly unhinged by saying this:
let's break this down in order!!!
OH, HE GETS IT, DOES HE??? I can only assume he saw this coming because of course he did, he's been looking at MC like she's the world since that incident on the veranda!!!
oh so exactly his opposite, huh??? how much do you dislike yourself toshihisa
I AM ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!! it's not that Shigezane has nothing to worry about because Toshihisa isn't interested, it's only because MC isn't interested in him!!!!!!!!!!!!
you'd think the take-away from that evening together that Shigezane would have seemed idk more important but nope!! he sure is playing second banana compared to MC!!
that said, I wouldn't count on MC not being interested!!! MC CLEARLY HAS GREAT TASTE, AND TBH WHO CAN BLAME HER
anyway absolutely unhinged unrequited pining on Toshihisa's part, it's been like nine months and I'm still not over it

hi hiiiii can I request a fic of clive x petite f!reader that's super timid anxious n shy, and overly sheltered and innocent to the point she acts childish and ppl sometimes mistake her for a kid? can't wield a dagger to save her life, would curl into a ball and cry if shit got bad, and the hideaway peeps would likely think of her as a load to carry but never admit it out loud bc they're good ppl
I see all these clive x reader fics where the reader is super confident, flirty, and a real bad bitch with a blade/magic/smth generally cool and like,, props to y'all sexy girlbosses out there but I've got no shame in saying I've got bad social anxiety and would realistically have a panic attack and go into shock upon seeing one (1) corpse. I need more rep for my softer damsel in distress girlies 🌸✨💞💫🌼
Oh I love this, we need rep for the damsels just as much as the femme fatales! (This anon also requested this be written for a plus sized reader!)
When Cid told you about his plans you freely offered your services. Sure you couldn’t fight, but you could very well act as moral support!
A resistance is only as good as its soldiers, and without basic necessities there was no hope of survival. Food, water, clothes, if you weren’t at the hideaway you were at the market restocking for supplies.
Even if you couldn’t fight you had a nose for a good deal, even Lady Charon was impressed by the haul you’d bring back at times
And you were such a sweetheart, always volunteering your time in order to maintain the hideaway
Perhaps it’s that loving nature that drew Clive to you in the first place.
You were no dominant, no soldier, hells you couldn’t even witness the sight of blood without being nauseous
But you made up for that in spades; your kindness, your willingness to help those in need
You may not risk your limbs against steel, but being a part of Cid’s grand plan meant that you were risking your life
And for that, Clive is more than grateful to have you by his side
Whether you believe it or not, you were risking your life just as much as anyone else here
You remind him that there is good in the world worth fighting for
Still, there is a small part of you that feels lesser for being unable to join in the action
You’re surrounded by talented fighters—Gav, Cid, Jill—the list goes on
Especially when it came to Jill, when stood side by side the two of you couldn’t be more opposites
A brave young woman who fought her way from slavery, dominant of Shiva, adept with a rapier
And then there was you, shy, timid, the sharpest thing you’ve ever held being a kitchen knife
But in those days of self-doubt Clive is there to ease the pain
Holding you close, fingers pressed into the plushness of your thighs, he helps you to free yourself of those nasty thoughts, he helps you to forget
And for that, you’re grateful to him.
You scrutinize yourself in the mirror, twisting and turning to see every angle of yourself, that nagging voice in your head pointing out every flaw in your reflection. It picks at all your insecurities with pinpoint accuracy.
Too weak, too big. A burden on everyone here.
The voice is silenced when you feel the familiar comfort of his hands around your torso, slowly swaying you in his hold with his head in the crook of your neck.
“You’re doing it again darling.”
You take the time to enjoy the peace he brings you before replying, eyes closed in bliss. “Doing what, Clive?”
A gentle kiss to your neck, he then turns you around to see you in all your glory. His hands find rest on your hips, as if the soft skin was made for his touch.
“You doubt yourself far too much for my liking,” he whispers. “I can see it on your face.”
You don’t have the heart to deny it, so instead you bury your face into his chest, nearly purring in content when he reaches up to stroke your hair.
“You are perfect just the way you are,” he says. “And I’ll spend the rest of my life convincing you of that.”
#robo writes#request#clive rosfield#I’m messing around with a new format so tell me if it’s a yay or a nay#also sorry for the long wait! 🙏 hopefully it’s satisfactory

s/i info dump bcs fiction is my last desperate attempt at being kind of ourkay guys 💌 alsaur bcz i am too weak to hold a pen rn sob sob
TW: disability, body dysmorphia.
genevieve, let’s say her name is :)) affectionately endeared by the diminutive of her first name, “jenny”, or at least, for the duration of this post !! idk if i am sure of it yet 😭 SO, JENNY !! an awkward, inapposite sprawl of color in the sepia undertones and dusty cobblestone streets of ramshackle !! transported from bustling, neon streets of 21st century, Manila into Tré’s assumed victorian-era, supposed-London town, hopelessly juxtaposed between the modernity she’s accustomed and the bygone she’s subject to endure. how did time traveling even come to conception to render her predicament feasible, you may ask? well, don’t— because i have no idea.
her mere presence is an excruciating departure to the environment she’s ~miraaaculously~ transported (debatably “anachronistic” from the nobles whom’s interest she catches LOL), sticking out like a sore thumb. sporting vivid, indubitable testaments of her era; from the choppy, sharply sliced layers of her auburn hair, to the eclectic patterns adorning the bold, daring cuts of her outfits, and for certain, the evident contrast of her liberally expressed disposition and expectations posed for the women of the era. to expand further on her personality…let’s not, i no no wanna rn 😵 whatever me when i bring the free, whimsical spirit that 18th century ppl don’t rlly fw 😔
beneath this apparent sunny exterior, however, was an obscured depth of her heart that is not immediately perceptible. her bodily constitution was incredibly fragile, swayed by the slightest exertion of force and intensity— her health faltering beneath the weight of her own exuberance and vivacious personality. often hospitalized or otherwise bedridden back at home, she’ll have to so so so carefully meticulously FASTIDIOUSLY navigate through a time and place that obviously doesn’t accustom people like her. i am totally not projecting rn !!! prone to fainting spells, jenny will often be bound to a wheelchair in careful navigation of ramshackle’s cobblestone pavements; a perceived indignity that marred her cheeks with a total red, embarrassed of her vulnerability and bodily constraints. the necessity of his aid, thought crucial, was a constant reminder of her perceived inadequacy, an ever-present sense of shame and precarious self-esteem. HOW she gets by as a scrap, i also have no idea. hey, i have no idea how i get by either, but i do, so…
meeting tré, regarded in her head as this enigmatic, exaggeratedly cool, figure of infatuation alters the remaining trajectory of her journey. his perceived, heightened sense of intellectual prowess, formidable detective propensity, and general competence— particularly his physical capacity and willingness to diligently lark about ramshackle to accomplish his duties, enthrall her most ardently, raising both fondness and a slight pink to her cheeks.
similarly, tré takes an immediate interest in her as well— initially, the mystery surrounding her simply becoming the object of interest of his operatives and investigation but gradually metamorphosing into more, bordering on feelings unprecedented and indeterminable as their time together progresses . chat i love them 🙈 despite her INCESSANT fondness for tré, she also feels a sense of being perpetually left behind, the question of her worth and ability to measure to his standards always looming over her— her admiration for him only paralleled by her fear of inadequacy awe saur sad NOW KISS
despite the irritable persistence of her struggles & bodily discomfort, jenny is forever INSANELY determined to bridge the yawning chasm between her and tré, filling a gap between their respective eras, culture, and etc. she eases awkward silences with extensive, prose-y stories, initiates banter and playful dialog, exchanges as many polite, fond gestures necessitated no matter how utterly ANNOYING, and just generally put in a true, genuine effort. each laugh drawn from tré, each conversation ventured, each bold move pursued and reciprocated were small victories in the everyday battle she fought. shucks saur adorbs wish that was me. ultimately, her modern antics endear her to the detective 😈😈😈 saving a spot of her in his heart YEHEY
#heart’s delight; lover ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚#guys i am coping pls#pls cooperate with me and imagine this as the plot to some really cute romance shojo manga in the early 2000s like GRRRRRRR#💕♥️❤️♥️💙💔💔💜💕💕💕💕💕 I LOVE THEM#prose; samantha’s tangents ֶָ֢⊹𐙚

Winx Club au(S1)
Alright! But hear me out!
Like I have the creative zoomies(again) and I brainroted this for DAYS! Like you have no idea how on point I nailed everything.
Except visuals... We are here for the plot... :'3
I will accept any kind of visual suggestions tho... Plot too if you have :3
Anyway! I put the title! You know it: Winx Au!
Bc why not? Why tf shouldn't I smush together these 2 pieces of media that I like?
Anyway! We will have A LOT to cover... Because, much to the horror of moi, we will have 6 seasons. Like, if you know winx or were in the Fandom, you know the mixed opinions that started after season 3. It's just... A lot...
Even so, I enjoyed way too much the concepts and themes of the later seasons that I... Kinda forgot about plot? Shocking, I know...
Although season 7 was way too painful to watch and that's where I dropped everything and went my merry way. U-U9
Anyway! With that out of the way, we will dive into this Au, but first, some disclaimers:
I WILL go into more darker themes. Maybe Winx had a lighter tone, but it did go dark a few times. And I will go and shove it in even darker pits.
There will be swearing, much like violence... Because I need it for plot purposes.
This Au will start IN PARALLEL with Winx S1. So if you see mentions of og winx characters, locations or artefacts, you know why. I will also neglect season 7 and 8. Which means that for me, lore wise, will be irrelevant. I say this, because I will use lore aspects up until season 6, therefore it's just the bare necessities :3
At one point, the winx time-line and this au's time-line will meet up. So you should expect even a meeting in between the og winx and our group. :3c
Now, with that out of the way, we will go under ✨the cut✨ for it!
To start off: world lore.
Twisted wonderland was a planet full of magic. Unfortunately, due to political reasons, this planet didn't want to abide by the rest of Magix's quite tight rules and regulations, therefore it wasn't granted as many benefits as the other planets who agreed upon them. The primary reason was, of course: there has to be one singular royal family ruling over the whole planet. Twisted wonderland had multiple monarchies, democracies, republics and everything. And it was clear neither of them wanted to cojoin and be ruled by a single entity.
What was very special about twisted wonderland, was it's diversity in magic and how open it was. While it was very diverse, quite the array of categories of magic being able to be accessed, it was more or so notable that the common folk either didn't have magic affinities, or very weak magic, to the point they don't unlock even the base forms. Those people are called: stagnants, and could follow just primary magical courses at the very least.
Some notable institutes training people are:
NRC- an all boys school for fairies. Founded by the great 7, NRC is a 4 year boarding-school, whith a riguros training system. You can only boast about being in NRC after you passed in your 3rd year, because the exams are means of expulsion on their own.
RSA- the infamous specialists School. It trains magicless people into becoming knights and guards. It is quite renowned for it's 4 year training and great knights who could handle difficult situations.
NBC- the school of witches and wizards. Mostly known for it's long history and the very notable positive figures it housed. Despite training students into the dark arts, many came out to be protectors of their homelands or serving for good.
Now, for the first season:
We follow Jack. Jack was a Beastman, coming from a magicless family. His family had a very weak connection with magic since countless generations. But that didn't really stop Jack from living his life. He was a normal guy. That's all about him.
Alright, maybe not so normal, since he was close friends with the raising star in acting and modeling: Vil Schonenheit. Vil was known to be a fairy in training, just like his father, grandparents and so on. But Vil was also nice and always made time to go outside and hang out with Jack, so Jack really didn't think Vil was bad like the villain he was always portrayed in movies or plays.
But even so, Jack was never ready when he first discovered he could do magic. It was something more of a heat of the moment: his younger siblings were in danger, falling from a tree they climbed, so Jack, in a panic, summoned a layer of magic snow that cushioned their fall. It was clear he was the source, because it was the middle of the summer then.
With that, Jack really had his world rocked from it's feet. Vil just started his first year at NRC at that time, so he really wasn't sure if he should lay this news on his friend.
Nonetheless, Vil was excited when he heard the news. Jack was a terrible liar, so he figured he should fess up rather than hide it. Vil, obviously, was very happy and expected for his buddy to come to NRC with him. To assure he will get picked up, Vil would train Jack over the holidays, trying to get a grip on his powers before going into school.
Vil managed to get into his 3rd year when Jack finally got accepted and got in as a first year. Unfortunately for him, Vil did tell him that now that he was in his 3rd year, he would have to work even harder, so the best they could do is to text each other and maybe they could hang out sometime.
So Jack stepped in NRC, with a rough idea of how things work and clearly ready to learn more.
Vil told him about the sorting ceremony, so Jack really didn't expect to be so gloomy. When he thought about the fairies, he saw them so colorful and sparkly. Even so, someone did grab him, explaining that it's a metaphor for the butterflies process. They start as gloomy caterpillars before gaining their wings.
That someone was none other than a short boy with hair made out of blue flames. Jack was surprised of the hair, but the boy, named Ortho, was thrilled to meet another first year. He really hoped to be sorted for the Ignihyde courses. At that, Jack really didn't understand.
Ortho explains it to him: there are 7 courses, meant to train a future fairy in one of the 7 virtues the founders had. Each course has it's unique perks and special places on campus.
The 7 courses were:
The Heartslabyul course-focused mainly on a little bit of everything. It's a course that relies heavily on the rule abiding. A fairy must always aim to solve a problem without breaking rules or morals, which can affect their magic as well. Their special aera was the rose garden, where the students could relax or maditate. Jack noted that it would be a great course for him. He wanted to practice everything.
The Savanaclaw course- a course that relies mostly on limited use of magic. It trains fairies to be proficient even without magic, making it the best course in training great guards. They just never give up no matter what. Their perk was unlimited access to the sports grounds. Ortho said that even if he was energetic, he wouldn't stand a chance in there. He's a couch potato unfortunately. :'3
The Octavinelle course- they are courses mostly aimed at one's inner peace. Since the state of the mind also affects fairies, Octavinelle students are known to be always with their feet on the ground and able to deal very easy with spells that require a more deep understanding of oneself. Ortho wouldn't call it really a perk, but there is a cafe on campus that Octavinelle fully runs it. They also have an aera of the library allocated to them only.
The scarabia course- it's very popular for their focus on resources. These students are fairies who can easily use their environment to their advantage. Apparently their perk is access to a lot of supplementary courses outside. They could just crash in other course's expedition outside and be totally fine with it. Jack really didn't know what to say, but Ortho reassured that apparently the scarabia fairies are quite chill.
The poemfiore course- it's a course focused on antidotes and curses management. Their main perk is unlimited access to herbs and ingredients that are cultivated on the school grounds. Although they are also renowned for their impeccable looks and manners. Ortho did say that perhaps he could fit the bill for it, while Jack mentioned he had a friend in there.
The Ignihyde course- a course focused primarily on magic and technology. Since there is magic tech, the Ignihyde fairies can merge magic with tech flawlessly. There are many technological fairies in there, although there are also a few exceptions. Their perks aren't that known, but they have the underground workshops, where they can invent or tinker with whatever they please. Ortho said that his big brother is there, so he hopes to get also in there. Jack didn't really feel like he had a knack for tech, so he really didn't know what to say.
Then, the last one, Diasomnia- the practical magic course. Not only is the course where one of the most powerful fairies are coming, it is also a course with a lot of perks: status, more optional courses, meditation places and also a personal library section. It's the course that outshines everyone. Ortho did say that he hoped he wouldn't end up with a jerk from there in the dorm. Jack just awkwardly looks in the other part.
Ortho also mentioned that apparently the dorms are mixed. So there is a fair chance that even if they end up in different courses, they could still be roommates. Jack also hoped that, because ortho was literally the only 1st year he knew.
They do get sorted by the dark mirror. An odd name, but Jack didn't question it.
He ended up in Savanaclaw. And Ortho ended up in Ignihyde.
Jack was of course guided towards a senior: Ruggie. He presented himself as the prefect of the Savanaclaw course. A prefect, as Ruggie put it, was a student who excels in their courses while also embracing the virtues of the founder the course is based of. As a prefect, Ruggie had a job of overseeing the savanaclaw students. Mostly to guide the first years and nudge them into adapting. He also explained the school main rules to them, which Jack took a big note of:
-do not be off the campus after 22.
-do not smuggle in dangerous curses/artefacts.
-do not cross the restricted sections of the school.
3 big rules. Of course, there are the minor rules also, but these 3 are the ones that immediately get you expulsion.
Ruggie also gave to everyone, one by one, their programs and dorm keys. Thankfully Ruggie was the kind soul who smuggles in a map for the first years, so they won't get lost, then pushed them on their merry way to the dorms.
It took some mad orientation skills and also a small meeting with Vil, before Jack finally found his dorm.
And it was a mess.
The dorm itself was pretty big, considering it had 3 supposed bedrooms, all connected through a small lounge. It was very spacious. But it had things sprawled around, 2 guys arguing, one of them on the coffee table, and 2 literally throwing books and pillows at each other.
Oh and Ortho was there. He seemed to be texting someone when he saw Jack and happily approached him.
It took a bit to calm down and finally get around with intros and everything. There were 2 bedrooms, each with 2 beds and everyone was already pre-determined.
In the first room- Deuce Spade from Heartslabyul and Sebek Zigvolt from Diasomnia.
Second room- Jack and Ortho
Third room- Epel Felimer from poemfiore and Ace Trappola from Heartslabyul.
And for now, things seemed quite awkward, with everyone settling in at their own pace then sleeping.
The first few days were also awkward. Everyone had their own courses and still had to get to know each other, which was a bit hard. Still, for the sake of coherence, Jack tried his best to bring everyone together to bond.
Which leads them to a weekend hangout through the Sage city. Gradually, they had fun together, went to a cafe, arcade and walked through the streets, bonding. It seemed to do wonders as now they were all comfortable enough to crack jokes in between them.
But their fun moment is cut short when they happen to overhear a very sus conversation on an alleyway. Being the bastards they were, despite Jack, Deuce and Sebek being against it, the 6 of them decide to snoop a bit on the convo.
They overhear 2 people, cloaked from head to toe, talking about finding some sort of key. One of them seemed quite impatient as the other reassured that until they find the key, that a stone they showed should do the trick. Ortho recognised it as a black magic stone, which got the group to worry.
Sage Island was very known to heavily rely on fairy magic, also dubbed as white magic. Black magic is used sometimes in here, but if it's used to affect the land, the island itself won't stand, since it's core is made out of fairy magic. At least that's what Epel explained to the group in whispers.
Their little cover is blown anytway, because they couldn't be discret to save their lives, so due to this, the 2 people summon a monster made out of trash, meant to dispose of them, while they fleed.
And rightfully, being the fledgling fairies they were, this group was absolute shit at it. Everyone tries to be leader and everyone is crashing one against each other. It doesn't help that only 4 out of 6 could actually transform. (Jack and Ace) which left 2 more vulnerable.
In the end, Jack comes up with a plan to defeat the monster and actually rolling with it, assuring them as the winners of the fight, while the monster returned to trash piles. But they made a mess out of it, so now they hurried back to NRC to just get a shower and talk about it, since maybe they were tired, but sleep was the last thing on their worry list.
Except that they get caught up by Ruggie. They came in late, but seeing how they were looking like shit, Ruggie decides to close an eye for the meantime, with the promise of not happening again. They didn't go that much over the curfew, so he could just assume they got lost on their way back.
At their dorm, the 6 of them gathered together after cleaning up and getting some comfy pijamas and decided to discuss about it.
Epel says that he is the fairy of earth, hence why he felt a slight disturbtion in the earth magic from here when the monster was summoned. That monster clearly wasn't a being with life and mind of it's own as Ortho put it, but their next dilema was: What was the deal with those 2 people?
Ace suggests that maybe they should leave it and mind their own business. Deuce said that he is worried about the monster returning, or even worse, more of them coming. Sebek was wondering what kind of key were those people looking for. Epel had mixed feelings about it, while Ortho was insisting to look into it.
Jack suggested to tell some authorities about it, which gained a flat no. They didn't know how the individuals looked like, nor did the monster they fought got caught by the public. They could be considered to be bluffing for clout, so for now, this stood in between them.
The conclusion: no one would believe the without evidence.
So in the spirit of their unanimous decision of investigating, Ace suggests a group name for them. They were kind of like a team so names were suggested around. The final draft was: Requix squad. It sounded sick by Epel's standards, so they decided that this was their group name.
So they start their investigation. Looking around for clues about what the key was meaning, watching the news, discovering that more and more monster attacks were spotted, thankfully the specialists and fairies were there in time. And of course, attending the courses and triaing to unlock their fairy forms or more power.
Early on, they get introduced to the concept of fairy forms: there are 2 main forms: base form and enchantix. In the first year, students are meant to learn the bases, including control of their base form. The 2nd year students are meant to unlock charmix, a power up for their base form, meant to signal them getting closer to enchantix. And by the final of their 3rd year, they have to get enchantix, so that on the 4th year they could properly train to be guardian fairies.
And like that, our Requix squad is very vexed about it. Ortho had an idea what that stone they saw could be, but he still had to do some research and confirm his worries before sharing a possibly flawed theory.
During this, Jack has Leona, his practical magic teacher, noticing his lack of attention. He does confront him about it. Maybe it was just the start of the year, but Leona could see that Jack was a vigilent kid, so him looking so troubled must've been because something happened. Rightfully, Leona assumes it's because Jack is a late bloomer with magic and all these monster attacks that leave the first year fairies to learn combat more early.
So Leona tries to reassure Jack that he needs to put more mind on his own self and only then he will be able to connect with his magic more.
Meanwhile, Ace has a nightmare. One that ends up waking Epel as well, the 2 having a talk about it.
Ace tells Epel that he saw something bad. A big monster, dark tunnels, and the same cloaked figure from the alley, hidden in the shadows. Epel wasn't the best at comforting, but he did his best. In the morning, Ace didn't share about it with the others, everyone assuming he just didn't sleep that well.
Meanwhile, Jack catches Ortho trying out a dark magic spell. When asking about it, Ortho realises that he has to fess up to the truth: he was half witch, mainly from his mother's side. Since the Shrouds had the heirloom of the first born to be the fairy of death, Ortho's big brother, Idia, gained that title, along with being a full fledged fairy, even if he did cary some faith traces of dark magic, those didn't affect him. Meanwhile, Ortho inherited both fairy and witch magic, making it hard to control and sometimes, his own body can't take it, manifesting as dizzy spells or even fainting when one of the sides takes over. So far, Ortho took many precautions, but he just can't pursue one side of him without feeling the repercussions, so sometimes he tries dark magic spells to balance it out.
Jack is a bit taken aback by it, but Ortho pleaded for him to tell no one. Jack had no option but to comply and help Ortho out with his little problem, mainly by helping with the research about the stone.
And they finally come with a rough idea. What that stone was, could it be a gloomix stone. The others are a bit confused, but Ortho tells them that gloomix is a witch form. Just like charmix is for a fairy, gloomix is a powerup for a witch's base form. Except that while charmix comes from making personal amends with oneself, gloomix is made through taking dark magic straight from a power source or given to you by a more powerful entity.
This leads them to search more about where could the gloomix stone could come from. They discover some aincent tunnels, so while everyone is asleep, the 6 sneak out and find a hidden entrance to the tunnels right behind a statue on the school hall.
Ace does become uneasy, saying to Epel that it was just like in his dream, which also got Epel a bit uneasy. They are exploring a bit the place, using an enchanted paper to map it out.
Thankfully for them, they find a big door. One under many locks. An idea coming from Sebek was to use a convergence spell. They were all a bit skeptical, but if they find something useful in there, they could pinpoint the one behind the monsters and finally report it to the authorities. Heck, maybe they could gain some nice grades out of it. It wasn't unheard of extra credits or good grades from fulfilling a very difficult problem/mission.
The convergence spell is wonky, not working at first. But a second time has all of the group finally coming to a comune agreeement: they need to open that door. They are a group and nothing can stop them!
And it works! The locks are down and the doors open.
And the place? A big library. Lots of stairs, both tall and deep, filled with rows and rows of books. There were also floating platforms going up and down as on the walls, different murals were painted.
They decide to go down instead of up, finding at the bottom, after a hell lot of stairs, some tables, armchairs and couches. There was also a big Cauldron in one side, some utensils and many more things, yet the most interesting of it was a crystal ball.
Jack nudges Ortho to do something with it, but the latter doesn't want. Instead, Sebek pokes it, wondering what it is. The ball does seem to light up and shake with life as from there, a spirit of a man in a lot of robes presents itself.
Also a cat, which immediately slaps Sebek for poking the ball. :'3
The man presents himself as Trein, the spirit of the aincent library. He thought that this place was locked, as no one really got on. The group is pretty quick to say that it was fairly easy to get in, because they did a convergence spell. Trein was a bit skeptical, since the convergence spell had to have both light and dark magic to open all the locks.
It brings a bit of suspicion among the group, Ortho growing uneasy and Jack trying his best to divert the situation towards their goal: finding the truth about the monster attacks. Trein couldn't help them that much, only show them present events through the crystal ball. Lucius however, could find for them any book they desire.
The group contemplates for a bit, before finally telling what they want: a book on monster making. Lucius finds it quite quick and gives it to them, starting to skimm through it and try to find what kind of monster did they encounter then.
It was found out that it was actually a simple type of dark magic spell, a monster made out of environment objects. Therefore their foe wasn't someone that powerful. Maybe they were even on par with them.
But their little research moment gets stopped when they hear a roar outside. Lucius reports to Trein that some sort of beast is trying to break into the library. The group decides to fight it, because that might be their next big clue after all.
In the fight, Ace and Jack also unlock their own fairy base forms. The monster doesn't get defeated that easily, leaving a few wounds on the group, who had to rest a bit in the library.
But, they managed to defeat it in the end. And fortunately, this monster leaved behind something: a wilted flower. It must've been created from that flower in question, so maybe they could find another big clue.
Trein seems quite pleased with the group in question. Maybe everything seemed a bit of a haze, all on the run and bearly they got a month since their started school, but Trein saw some potential in them. So he decided to test them: he gives them a riddle and they will have to bring him the answer to it. The library will only be open to them and them alone, so they shouldn't worry if the monster would return. To find the library again, Trein entrusted them with a magic bottle, that it will show them where the library is when unbottled. They only have 1 chance after all, so they all should think the riddle through.
As for the riddle:
You can't see, smell or hear me,
You feel me at your worst,
You know me at your best,
You, alone, can't have me,
I will be your power and your weakness.
What am I?
So the first years are left to sneak back to their dorm and contemplate.
Except that the next day, after classes, everyone is called for an emergency roll call. As it turns out, the island is suffering consequences of the dark magic monsters being more and more by the day. And so, it was mandatory for NRC and the locals to have some dark magic detectors around. Those were put a few days ago.
And already they went off a few times, getting everyone to realise that someone in this school was secretly a witch. This qualified as a traitor, given the circumstances.
And so, it comes to each group of students to be interrogated under the detector. Of course, knowing just how they got the library seal down, our group is a bit uneasy and also suspicious of each other. They tried to contemplate any kind of last minute plan to escape it, but so far, nothing came to them.
And of course, the detector goes off on them. In front of everyone. Of course, Crowley, the headmaster, gives them the option to fess up who's the witch or all of them to face expulsion and also be handed to the police for further investigations.
And Jack, desemned leader of the group, has no other option than to fess up that Ortho was half a witch. He tried to defend him, saying that Ortho couldn't have done such a thing, but everyone was obviously shocked and more or so disgusted by this.
Thankfully, before Crowley could do a decree, a student raises up, while the other leave for their dorms. That was Idia, very notable by his fire hair. When he goes to Crowley, the detector also goes off. Idia explains to Crowley. Since they remained alone, Idia has more courage to explain that because of their mother being a very powerful witch, both Idia and Ortho have traces of dark magic. It's not much, but enough to have the detectors go off. The monsters that plagued the city were getting more powerful, sign that perhaps gloomix could be involved, which Ortho clearly didn't have.
Also Idia pointed something out, that the Shrouds have a unique trace of magic, which would've let anyone know that a creation spell was done by them, mainly the 'heart of flame'. As an example, Idia himself creates a creature, which notably has a blue flame around it's chest. It easily dissappeared, but it did prove the case.
Crowley buys into it and leaves the group off the hook for now. But if they ever slip up again, he will have to take more drastic measures. For now, Idia is guiding them back to their dorm.
And rightfully, on the halls, Idia warns them. He saw them last night sneaking around. He is aware that they are mingling where they shouldn't, so he tells them to stay put.
He just doesn't want to repeat 'the incident' again.
Back at the dorm, everyone is silent. It was clear that Jack was aware of Ortho's secret and still, it felt like a betrayal. Ortho doesn't try do defend his case, but Ace is the one that breaks the silence.
Idia was going to save their asses anyway so Jack didn't have to just rat out a secret he was entrusted with. Jack tries to defend himself, saying that he didn't know about Idia having an intervention, even so, Epel adds that it's just fucked up that the headmaster was gonna hand them all on the police hands just for that. Deuce points out that now they all have big targets on their back and probably the culprit is happy they have a cover.
Sebek booms in, saying that they must find the true perpetuator, because this now is personal. The headmaster was truly too hurried with this thing, so something had to be up with it. They were 1st years, it was easy to weed them out. If perhaps they were 3rd years or more influencial, then it would've been harder to come up with a proper motive.
So now, Jack just puts his foot down. They are in this shit together. They have an advantage: the library. They need to figure out that riddle, find the object that is the answer, unmask the culprit and clear their name. Now it's the best time to just fess up everything that is on the plate. No more secrets and then they can work this shit together.
So they gather up in their lounge, with pillows and blankets. Sebek conjured a stick they called 'the stick of talky', so they started to pass it around.
Jack didn't have any secrets he hid from them. He was the fairy of snow apparently, which was also new to him, he tries to get around everything and hopes he can just get to the bottom of this.
Ace gets the stick, revealing that he is the fairy of tarot, which puts him in the future seeing fairies, quite the taboo type. His brother was the fairy of matchmaking, a graduate of NRC and Ace hopes to surpass his brother one day to gain more than just 'the little brother' title.
When it's Epel's turn, he says that he wants to be manly, not a cute sparkly ass fairy. But as the fairy of earth, he has to commit to it. He says that he's sick of the poemfiore's strict self care regime, which has him looking like a porcelain doll. And doesn't help that he absolutely hates the prefect's guts.
Sebek reveals that he trains to be a retainer for prince Malleus Draconia, the fairy of dragon's breath. He takes great pride in it, but with Silver, his fellow guard, being a year older and in the 2nd year, Sebek feels a bit overshadowed and ignored by Malleus and Lilia in favor of Silver.
The stick reaches now Ortho, who has a bit of a hard time, but the others were silent when the others confessed so Ortho finally got it off his chest everything, including why Idia was so worried to the point of intervening into their situation because the way Idia gained his enchantix was by giving his base form's wings in an attempt at saving Ortho. Ortho was not a fairy if death, rather a fairy of the souls, which isn't really something to brag about. The others didn't push more info and finally the stick reached Deuce.
Among his delinquent phase, Deuce admits that he has in possession something else. As the fairy of the night sky, Deuce got as a heirloom, the zodiac blade, a blade that was in the form of a bracelet Deuce had on his hand. This blade was insanely powerful and Deuce fears of using it as he is still incapable of controlling it. He fears he could hurt everyone if he uses it.
After the stick finally making a full round, everyone seems a bit awkward. Ace finally decides to address the elephant in the room: they are shit at getting along. This gains a pillow on the face from Epel, which quickly escalates in a pillow fight.
After the pillow fight, all of them were just laying there, laughing and taking a breather. They were absolute disasters, but at least they had each other.
And that's what gets Jack's gears turning. He finally got an idea of the riddle answer, so he prompts the others that the answer they were searching for was here the whole time.
The answer was them all. Their group. Maybe they had a way too fast development, maybe they just got in too much trouble for bearly starting the year and maybe it was all a very wierd streak of luck that got them here, but they are now here, all sprawled on the floor and laughing together despite in what deep shit they are now.
They were in all of this together and they will get out of there together too!
But how do they go to Trein to tell the answer? They were on close watch.
And that was painfully made obvious. Not only the teachers, but also the students put more attention on them. Except that the students also did give them some nasty looks too or even go as far as to prank them. Oh Deuce was on the verge of squaring up with someone if it wasn't for Ace.
But also Idia seemed more of a worrywart now, which the group really was a bit thankful, since Idia's gloomy vibes kept at bay the other younger students.
But still, they took the risk and finally sneaked in while everyone slept to find the library. They do so, surprisingly quick, seeing how there were several failed attempts and more than not some of them slamming into walls.
Trein does wait for them and the group presents their answer: their bond was the answer. Trein takes it as a close one since the answer was friendship (which none of these petty mfs is able to even admit it), but he takes it as correct and finally grands them unlimited access to the library, in the form of a mark on each of their hands. The mark will only appear when they wish to go to the library. And the mark will turn any door they wish to use into a temporary door to the library as to not go all the way through the secret tunnels.
The first years obviously cheer for their success, so they get straight to work. Using Ace's future seeing powers and the cristal ball, the group is able to predict a few of the next attacks. The one they had to look out to was the one on the Halloween, which was when a big ball was held at RSA. Many students from other schools will go there after all. And it was also where their prediction showed that a big monster will come.
So they start to cook a plan. They obviously were forbidden from leaving the school grounds as they were still under suspicion, so they had to be more creative.
So countless hours of late night library studying and and searching. Ortho was a bit skeptical, but in the end decided to make a concealing spell, which would make all 6 of them unrecognizable and thus able to attend the ball. Thankfully it was an open gates event held outside.
Ace and Deuce were trying to assure the details about the ball, while Epel and Sebek were looking into a way to capture the culprit. And Jack was looking into the aspects the monsters had up until now. Ortho had to make the said potion, as a spell would be blown off immediately. It was chaotic and Trein simply watched them ferret from time to time, figuring out that they aren't aware over what source of power they actually stumbled upon.
Halloween comes around. The theme of the ball was, of course, masked ball. And with this, as to not swallow some nasty tasting potion, Ortho merged it into some masquerade masks, perfect to conceal them. To add to it, their casual clothes were now very eye catching gowns and their body proportions also changed. Ortho clearly was proud of his potion success, but warned that it might not hold past midnight, so they should hurry.
The ball itself wasn't that flashy. And it was a surprise that 6 random pretty girls presented themselves in there. To communicate, they had earpieces disguised as earrings, so they split up.
Jack does go to the food table and due to some 'unfortunate accident', a specialist accidentally spills some juice on his dress, which prompts Jack to excuse himself and go to the bathroom. The specialist, named Neige, apologises for it and decides to show Jack where the women toilets are.
On their way tho, Jack knocks out Neige with a spell and is on his merry way to explore the said school, in search for anything that could point to the culprit.
Meanwhile, Ace and Deuce dance together and look gorgeous, Epel hauled a food table, Ortho was hyping Sebek in chugging down a bottle of juice, much like the girls that gathered with them.
Back to Jack, man stumbles upon a quite nicely dressed specialist. Immediately Jack puts the excuse that 'she just got lost' and asks for directions. Except that the guy seems quite suspicious when leading Jack towards the ball location.
Because they didn't go the same route.
Jack is a bit taken aback when the guy tries to attack him, but he defends himself with a spell and so it starts the fight. Thankfully, even when in fairy form, the concealing potion was kept, which Jack was infinitely grateful for as he called for the rest of the team.
But the guy, who reveals himself as Prince Mandor, doesn't let down so easily, able to quickly knock out of the way Jack as he uses the gloomix stone in the form of a glowing collar hid under the coat, to summon a big monster out of the armour statues laying throughout the school.
The prediction was made true in the end, but that didn't stop the group from reuniting and all of them to put a face to the culprit.
Immediately it gets to a big fight as the monster leaves towards the ball. They also had to stop it in time, even so, they didn't have time, nor power to hold against a gloomix power up.
And in true villain fashion, Mandor reveals that he hated fairies from here, who always stole the spotlight from specialists. NRC fairies especially, who were all stuck up jerks. He hated them with a passion, to the point he wanted to put all of NRC to shame.
So our group decides to do a convergence spell, but not the way one may think. They all decide to aim at the collar with different beam attacks, overcharging it with power and thus destroying it.
The prince doesn't give out so easily and manages to flee via running. Jack wanted to run after him, but he was tired and Deuce warned that midnight was coming close. Epel found the gloomix stone smashed on the ground, so he grabbed the shards with him, together using their library marks to get to the library and flee the place.
Trein welcomes them back and the group all collectively are tired. But they present the gloomix stone shards. Nonetheless, Trein congratulates them on their good work. Lucius even gives them all a smol nuzzle. :D But even so, looking at the shards, Trein realises that the stone was made by a very powerful dark magic user, if not a dark magic entity. The price managed to run out of their hands, but right now, they got the gloomix stone shattered. So it was a victory still.
The next day, there are many cheers for the 2nd year group, who apparently managed to defeat the monster that threatened the ball. It was a bit of a collective saltiness from our first year group, because they work their asses for weeks, only to find the real culprit and prevent him from summoning such powerful monsters again. By a short research, it was clear that once the gloomix stone was shattered, the monster was gone, so in reality, they did all the work. Oh they were VERY salty about.
And Trein rightfully tells them that their battle is not over. They need to grow more powerful, not more popular. Begrudgingly, Trein declares himself as their mentor. As the spirit of the aincent library, he holds secrets for far more powerful spells and powers that an NRC graduate could only fantom about, let alone know about their existence and also pursuing them. This library constantly moved around under Sage Island via the secret tunnels, and not anyone could accces it. So for the team to have each a pass, it was quite the feat.
So of course, because they were in no position to accuse someone, let alone a royalty, the first years decided to take up on the offer and defeat prince Mandor and whoever is helping him reek havoc in here.
That's when season 1 ends.

Okay before adachi, a quick summary of Slinks
COMPLETED: AEON
I admittedly like Marie's arc a lot, though it does suffer from feeling very inorganic, being added after the fact in Golden. But given the point of her, that almost suits her? She is the constant spare, she exists in a room that lives in the subconscious mind, she has no memories of before. Like, of course she has a strangeness to her, like a hanger-on to creation.
I am still unsure who the fuck she is since it wasn't revealed in her max scene, but she feels like a by-product of creation, like the leftovers of some alchemic process that was needful and necessary, and has the baggage of not having been part of that necessity, if that makes sense?
Anyway, her resolution is realizing she is making memories, so even if she started with nothing, she is far from that now. Good for her! Thanks for the comb. I'm gonna donate it to a cultural museum.
ONGOING: FORTUNE
Over in Naoto's link, this Phantom Thief person keeps stealing stuff from the Shirogane Estate and planting the items to be found around Inaba.
Because, yanno, it's probably Naoto's grandfather who is trying to get them to reconnect to the passion of their youth and remind him that he's allowed to be a child still. I mean, if its not that, I will be fucking stunned.
Naoto's link is surprising me in how.... meh it is. I was really geared up to either be really angry or really relieved (like I was with Kanji's) but Naoto is giving me nothing! He's way more interesting in the main scenario, honestly, why he gets to do stuff.
But maybe there will be an upcoming turn. Admittedly, I think the entire idea of Naoto's arc revolving about this little sideplot is just Meh. I'll try to finish it out but who knows.
COMPLETE: SUN
Oh my GODDDD I almost ended up dating her just because THIS CHOICE was so fucking brutal. Like, yanno? Power to her, doing her confession in such a powerful way. "Either stay and be my boyfriend or please leave," I have tremendous respect for that kind of ultimatum. No nonsense.
BUT MAN, OOF, IT HURT!!!!
I haven't been recapping her because I was waiting for it to take a turn and become great, but this is a weak Sun route imo. I dunno if anything is going to beat the really deep, dark nihilistic take on the Sun from P3P, like that shit was amazing.
Anyway, good luck to Yumi, I think she should go into politics.
ONGOING: STRENGTH
for real i only did some strength bc I had more days to burn before Dec 22 and there was NO ONE ELSE AVAILABLE to hang out with, so I figured whatever I'll take the juice for fusion
but oh my god Strength is so fuck boring. Koromaru was a dog who could not talk and was so much more compelling than the sports boys. i am soooo booooooooored. i miss Rio.
Some more fun bits:
NAOTO'S ASSIST MOVE IS A FUCKING DRIVE-BY SHOOTING WITH A SEMI-AUTO ON HIS FUCKING BIKE WITH THE LIL BASKET IN FRONT I'M CRYING
Naoto is amazing, shame their Slink sucks
This outfit for Kanji feels like a reference I'm not getting, is it a Yakuza thing? That's also published by SEGA.
It's not his cutest outfit tho so I put him back in Gekkoukan. HEY ALSO, I HAVE THE GEKKOUKAN UNIFORMS FOR THE BOYS BUT I CAN'T GET THEM FOR THE GIRLS? I talked to Kashiwagi after the December tests and no luck. 8C 8C I wanna see them in in Gekkou.....
also i love kanji, did i mention that? have i perhaps mentioned that i love kanji? also that yukiko is best girl? i'm just wondering if that came up.
I GOT THE SPACE BUNNY!
also dang satan ur tiddies

Tbh S4 created more questions than answering them. They made it seem like the lab tried to create kids like Henry so many people think all kids powers are from him or something experiment based. But we know Kali was taken from the UK and her origin suggests that other kids probably got taken from other places, their races were also very diverse. Kali must have exhibited natural powers when she was a kid. Then how come the other kids are just experiment based? Because it is not like only Kali was natural. And if she is then it kinda creates a loop because we do not know. Heck we do not even know why she is the only one who exhibits illusion powers but not other kids. And she doesnt have telekinesis. And if the kids powers are connected to the UD, then how does Kali even have powers since she was a kid in the UK? Does the UD extend to other places on Earth or just Hawkins? I guess you can say they are not that connected to the UD but just have a supernatural relation by necessity? Because it is not like their powers only exist bc of the UD, they exist bc of experiments. Like idk what is going on but I think they screwed it up with Kali's plot and it screams like"we didnt know what to do with Kali". Because they just didnt think further.
I think people just misinterpret the "recreate me" line. We must remember how Henry was "created". (at least, to our knowledge).
He wasn't born in a lab and experimented all his life. He faced some kind of hardship, awoke to his powers, trained for a month using his own family as testing dummies, and then killed all but one.
To "recreate" Henry, all you have to do is scour the world for children with similar circumstances as him, see if they have potential, capture them, and then train them using the same methods Henry used to train himself.
I made a gifset of it before, but this moment is a great example of what I mean:
Henry trained using animals and whatnot, so of course Brenner would force his test subjects, especially El, to do the same. To his surprise I'm sure, El didn't need to do all that to get stronger. She skipped right to kill the assholes who tried to lock her into the cell.
As for Kali's powers, we can't say for sure if she has telekinesis, but telekinesis and "finding" people obviously wasn't her strong suit. She specialized in illusions. I remember it being explained outside the show that all the kids have similar powers, but some excel in some areas and are weak in others.
We can see this play out when Brenner forces them to fight telekinetically. We never see most of these kids perform any telekinesis, they got pushed away immediately. Telekinesis was probably 002's specialty, so you can imagine his anger when El upstaged him in his own specialty.
We also have a glimpse of 010. He's very good at finding people it seems. He's the only kid we witnessed doing this other than El and Henry.
So it's safe to say, all these kids were quite talented, including Kali, but none of them were a jack of all trades like Henry. Which is why Henry preferred El, because though she was lacking the illusion power, she is also a jack of all trades and even had a power he didn't. (not that he knew that until she blasted him to another dimension)
There is no indication their powers are from the Upside Down. I see people say that a lot, but I just don't see the connection there? Maybe people are pulling from some d&d lore that I'm unaware of where "magic" comes from a specific dimension?
I believe powers just exist in the world of Stranger Things. It's very rare and some people will never even realize they have powers and continue to live an average life. The experiments didn't create these powers, they just pushed them further along, like training for a sport. With these powers, you can access other dimensions parallel to ours, but it doesn't mean powers come from there.
Just my thoughts.

Iron Flame theories under the cut
After I had a few days to let the book sink in completely, here are some of my unhinged theories about things that came up in Iron Flame
Violet has a second signet and it manifested in the torture scene, where she saw Liam. Yes, she was cut off from her dragons, which is why I think the power was weak, but signets manifest into something the person needs and what does Violet need more in a war after losing people she loved? A way to reach out to them and potentially even bring them back. There was nothing that indicated Liam was a figment of her imagination and I honestly think she truly saw his ghost, BECAUSE they did not burn all of his things ( more on that later )
Violet is tied to Malek & not in fact part venin as many in the fandom believe. Even though her hair is partially silver, she is entirely different from venin in all other ways and I believe they want her for her difference and not because she is like them. Back to Malek, whenever Violet begs him for something, he grants it ( except Liam :( ). She beats death so many times that it seems nothing can kill that girl. When she sees Liam in her cell, he says that Malek sent him. I strongly believe that the Gods actually do exist and aren't just mentioned as part of their religion and that Violet is connected to the God of death, either bc he saved her once, blessed her, cursed her, whatever. Maybe her mother struck a bargain with Malek when she was pregnant with Vi to save her life and the silver hair is a mark he left on her to show she is his. Yarros likes to take names etc from the Gaelic language and there is the Irish myth of the silver branch, which grants entry into the 'Otherworld' without dying, which would explain her connection to the dead and to Malek
The tradition of burning people's belongings is not just a quirky idea they came up with, but a necessity. They forgot why they do it after 450+ years, but I believe that as long as things remain of a deceased, they can be brought back in some shape or form. The tradition began when the people realized it was necessary, but this is why Violet can still reach out to Liam, his letters still exist. Part of him still exists in their world and can be reached
Naolin is not dead, but the Sage. It is never explicitly mentioned by the people close to him, eg Tairn and Brennan, that Naolin is actually dead. Brennan said ' it cost him everything' to save him, but not that it cost Naolin his life. I believe he turned venin and is able to reach into Violet's dreams due to his former connection to Tairn. Tairn also never specifically mentioned that Naolin died, but that they will not speak of the one who came before. We see that Jack's bond with his dragon remains after he turned, so it is to believe Tairn cut the bond to Naolin after he turned. Xaden thinks in his last chapter that Saegyl is uncharacteristically quiet -> I think she cut the bond, but that a bond severed this way is not 100% broken in the way it would be when a rider dies
Andarna said she slept for hundreds of years and waited for someone like Vi. She is an entirely unknown breed of dragon no one has ever seen before, because her breed comes from a time of the founders before the chasm and all knowledge of them existing was erased, because there must be something about them that threatened Navarre. I think that her connection to Vi will be integral in changing the war and that she was destined to bond Vi, unlike Tairn. I sadly believe that whilst Tairn will teach Violet and help her grow, he will not see the end of the war, because he was always just meant to be the teacher, whereas the special girl was always meant to bond the special dragon to end the war and save the world
I think Violet and her 'differences' will be the cure to being venin. Venin lose their souls when they bleed the power around them dry, but if Violet is truly connected to Malek, she might be able to bring back their souls and restore them

do u think it’s strange that there was almost no mention of kendalls drug addiction/him using in this season? we got that one line in the first episode which implies he might be clean? maybe? and its never brought up again. i just cant help but find it weird bc kendalls drug use and addiction was such a big part of his character and really used to reflect what hes going through. but then again this season wasn’t very long in-universe and he was focused on a lot of other things so maybe there wasnt any necessity for him to do drugs? i might have answered my own question.
Okay that's a really good question. So in terms of why they didn't bring it up again, I literally just listened to a podcast ep where Jesse essentially answered this exact question so I'll just write down his answer here real quick:
Podcast Host #1: I don't think I've ever seen an addict on television without relapse being part of the story.
Jesse Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, and it was part of our story, but I wasn't especially intrigued by that dynamic.
Podcast Host #2: Why did you do it if you weren't that intrigued by it?
JA: It just felt right. It's that episode in the desert, it came after episode 6 of the first season. And it just felt like he was in a tough place and so we did it cause it felt right. But the episode isn't really about that. I don't want to be glib about addiction, but I think it's quite heavily covered in the culture. It's well covered in the culture. We've got some stuff to say about power and also I guess about the way that money can insulate you from some of the worst things that can happen to you if you don't have money and find yourself addicted.
I don't necessarily think the show (or Jesse for that matter) is saying he didn't relapse, but that, as with many things in this show, they just don't bring it back up again because there's no plot-related reason to. Like you know how there's a lot of those jokes about how 'x was true, it just wasn't relevant to [characters]'s journey so we never saw it' - I feel like if there's any show that this joke really works well on it's Succession lmao. Stuff will come up and then be dropped quite easily again later on, and they're not necessarily trying to make a statement by doing that. So them not mentioning it doesn't imply anything about whether Kendall is using again, it really just tells you that whatever the case may be, it's not really relevant to the plot and/or doesn't reveal anything we don't already know about the character, so there's no reason to mention it.
With Kendall, drugs are also mostly brought up either by Logan or Kendall's siblings, to point out his 'weaknesses' (just revisited this post on how the show conflates Kendall's drug abuse, him performing in a business-sense and his sexuality). I don't think there was necessarily anything new to be said about that. Kendall's also flying pretty high for most of the season, and those topics and Kendall's drug use mostly comes up when he's depressed and more hopeless, which he simply didn't really have time to be, with everything that was going on this season and with how little time passed.
This doesn't mean, though, that I think they don't put thought into whether he is sober or not or don't put in certain 'clues' (for lack of a better word) that point to that. At the start of the season Kendall kind of implies that The Hundred is keeping him occupied enough to keep him from drugs ('I need something super fucking absorbing in my life', which tells me he is trying to stay away from drugs and is asking them straight up to tell him if it's not gonna be this, so he can look for a different substitute). And I'm pretty sure the drink he orders in 4x2 is non-alcoholic (though I could be wrong, I'm going off what I've seen others say here) but as the season progresses we do see him drink, like in Norway and then also at the Tailgate Party and in the finale. Whether that means that he's using drugs again as well, I don't know, but he's clearly not staying sober. We also know he uses drugs when he's under a lot of pressure to perform, in the business-sense, which he obviously is this season, so there is that as well
#ask#i also think the 'i need sth absorbing in my life' line is telling us that he's very much struggling with his addiction#not just bc he's always about to just start using again but bc he's a work-addict as well#it's as much of a substitute for drugs for him as alcohol is. in that it's not. it's just a different addiction that he deems healthier#or more socially acceptable#and like less of sign of 'weakness' and so he allows himself to be consumed by it more.#kendall roy#drug mention#addiction mention#drugs tw#succession
