It's beautiful weather today so I've got my door and windows open but now one of my neighbours is having a BBQ and I'm jealous! The smell of a BBQ is just 😍🤤 You really can't go wrong with a good BBQ and I can see I'm going to have to go shopping tomorrow for BBQ supplies, even if I do one just for myself 😅🙈😃

Summer BBQ outfits

Hi! This week has been hot hot hot weather, so dressing for it is like you’re on a sunny holiday in Bali. We don’t mind, do we!? Summer BBQ are happening all around us, and it’s fun to dress nicely for one too. I’ve kept footwear flat as nobody likes heels when walking in grass. My Delightful little creature absolutely killed it the past two weekends 👌

Pigroll earned her Rally Master title, and got her first QQ towards her Rally Champion title. She showed up, dominated, ate snacks, and napped so hard she's a true athlete 💪

i’m on my neighbourhood’s HOA board (im gonna try to ligthen it up) and we had our first bbq of the summer. I made a FUN ZONE - with bubbles and lawn games for the kids , and i baked COOKIES ( small cute lemon cookies, like 60 of em ) that i ran around and shoved in peoples faces I HAD TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAD TREATS. I made sure the kids got freezies first so they could choose their color and then the adults could get them after. 

and we had a lil  contest to see what we’d name our little park with swings, and it was named after the neighbourhood cat ...who was also there. So now we’re going to make a sign for it. Its now “ Yoda’s Park “ . And its important that the park belongs TO yoda.  plus i’m slowly winning over the 80 year old conservative dude whos on the board. He may want to get away from ‘wacky liberals’ but we both had a good chat about the writers strike and he was interested to know the details of the streaming stuff. Its only a matter of time before my cookies and logic win him over and he maybe can learn a thing or two. 

idk just random journal entry post thingy - I like facilitating events like that. I will probably not go to a community bbq, but I will run one haha. Just put me in a place where I have a job for the whole time and i’ll be there.  smol joy...cookies and bubbles on the lawn and happy faces :)  edit : i forgot one of my neighbours was like. “ do you live at that end house ? “ and i was like “ yeah “  and she goes “ wanna know how i know ? “ i asked why she pointed at my tattoo of a mushroom and then pointed to the mushroom decorations outside of my house. Gosh im obvious.

The man on the radio talks of Fridays and Solstice and longest days. Weatherwise it's humid with a heavy background helping of someone having something noisy done to their driveway. The chef on the radio is all about burgers, blue cheese and rib eye steak. The man on the radio throws on Cheeseburger in Paradise by Jimmy Buffet as the chef shuffles out of the studio. The traffic lady is all about Galway, The Old Dublin Road, Murphy's Cross and The Bog Road.

Today's groaner: what kind of soap does a dolphin use? ... All porpoise cleaner ;-D badoom tish ... here all week!!

The bbq kits are stacked high in the shiny metropolis. Oh what piles of irony for a place that's wetter than wet most of the year and getting wetter still. Advert after advert on the radio for such things, plus offer after offer on patio furniture. At least there are prettier things to look at. Quite happily took time away from the commercial crap to gaze at the water and watch the birds.

One and only marble is just about rolling. Coffee and a little quiet and not a soul in sight is the order of the day. Friday, Friday, Friday and an old black and white offering on the TV ...

i think, for me, the worst part of grieving the death of a loved one is navigating everyone else’s reactions. like, as a neurodivergent person who absolutely hates being touched and perceived as anything other than strong, showcasing that type of vulnerability around people is so hard.
