Are you looking to get the most out of your workouts? Are you getting stronger, but lacking aesthetics? Want to build mass, strength, and look shredded all at the same time? Then don't ego lift. When you ego lift, you can lose out on a very important part to creating an aesthetically pleasing physique. You lose out on the mind to muscle connection that stimulates muscle awareness, muscle fibers, optimal muscle engagement, and maximal growth. This is key if you're trying to create a strong aesthetic physique. Try taking the weight down to 70%, and honing in on your mind to muscle connection. This not only makes the movement more challenging, but the "pump" you'll feel afterwards is insane. The blood flow you achieve when performing each rep with optimal focus on the contraction of the muscle will have your muscles growing aesthetically in no time. #makeeachworkoutcount #motivation #purebred

Think building a strong upper back is difficult? Well then think again. Building a solid upper back consists of three main components, ready? 1.) Pull heavy objects off the floor. Are you thinking deadlifts? Good 2.) Pull heavy objects towards your body. Are you thinking Dumbell/barbell rows? Good 3.) Pull your bodyweight off the floor. Inverted rows are great for this! If pull ups aren't on your mind when it comes to sculpting a strong back, well then you better start thinking about them, because that should be a given! #lifestyle #pushpullgrind #back #Purebred

It's Flex Friday, and when you have a great workout, you've got to flex! Did you know that flexing not only creates important mind to muscle connections, but also promotes growth in the muscles you flex? When you flex you drive blood into the muscle, and holding the pose contracts the muscle, allowing you to guide the blood flow into the area you're looking to grow. Try flexing, and holding poses after your workout for a great pump sensation. #getyourswoleon

Do you love Brussel sprouts? Looking for a tasty #PUREBRED way to try these small green ball wonders? You’ll love this recipe we borrowed from Julia Mueller, the author of Let Them Eat Kale! Ingredients 4 cups brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved 1 large sweet potato, chopped into 1/2-inch chunks 3 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin Pinch allspice 3/4 teaspoon sea salt, to taste 1/4 cup raw pecans 1/3 cup feta cheese 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar Directions Preheat the oven to 400°F. Add the brussels sprouts, sweet potato, olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, allspice, and sea salt to a small casserole dish (8-inch by 8-inch or 9-inch by 13-inch will both work!). Toss everything together to coat the veggies. Place on the center rack of the oven and bake 45 to 60 minutes, stirring once half-way through, or until veggies are golden-brown and cooked through. In a small saucepan, heat the balsamic vinegar over medium-high, and bring to a full boil. Cook at a full (but controlled) boil, stirring frequently, until vinegar is reduced by 1/2 of its original volume, about 5 minutes. Taste veggies for flavor and add salt to taste. Serve roasted veggies with pecans, feta, and balsamic reduction drizzled on top. -Are you looking to burn more calories during your workouts? -Are you looking to use the plyometric box for more than just box jumps? -Do you have 6 minutes of spare time? Then let's go! 1.) Box Push-Ups Place your hands on the outer edges of the box, and extend your legs straight out. Lower down so your chest till it is a few inches off the box, then press up. Do this for 1 minute, and feel the blood flowing to your pecs! 2.) Step-Ups Put the box about a foot in front of you. Face the box, place your right foot on the box, and stand up. Bring your left foot up to meet your right, then step down with the left, followed by the right. Repeat for 1 minute on your right foot, then switch sides and repeat for 1 minute on your left foot. This will not only target your legs, but will also engage your core for a workout as well, since you'll be using it to stabilize yourself, right? 3.) The box handstand push-up This is a great variation to the handstand push-up that will not only engage your core, but if practiced correctly, will teach proper positioning for the actual handstand push-up. Place your feet on top of the box while in the push-up position from the floor. Walk your hands and torso till you have created an L-shape (torso vertical & legs horizontal). With your chest facing the box, elbows locked out, and biceps dissecting your ears, lower your upper body down until your head grazes the ground, then push the ground away from you to the starting position. This you’ll do 2 sets of 30 seconds non stop reps for a total of 1 minute deltoid action. 4.) Box Bridge Lie down on the ground, and place your feet on the box. Your knees are at a 90-degree angle. Lift your hips up off the ground (about even to the box). Squeeze your buns at the top, then lower down. Repeat for 1 minute of you want buns of steel. Who doesn't? Right? 5.) Box Jacks (the finisher) Begin with a small box in between your legs, feet on the ground on both sides of the box. Jump up so both feet land on the box, then step down: right followed by the left foot. Repeat for 1 minute. Look to jack up your heart rate with these and finish strong!

If you're doing something that doesn't challenge you, then you can't expect to grow. If you're doing something that does challenge you, then stick with it, because on the opposite side of difficult is easy. If it's difficult, and you don't give up before you start, expect to grow once you've put in the time. #fitness #motivation #purebred
