I literally hate that the word ‘sigma’ is used so much in science and math courses because I can never look at it the same ever again 😭😭
The brain rot is too real

He’s trampling on a group of imaginary invisible orphans (average Sigma experience. Never stop the grind.)
Anyways yeah, Monster hunter Mine. Kirin, obviously. I know, most original idea in the world.

I’ve been playing a lot of monster hunter recently, so I decided to to a little funny brainstorming- I present the monster hunter yakuza au! But none of them are monster hunters! They’re all monsters!
The characters, in order;
Goro Majima (Yian Gargua) (Garu Yianjima)
Kazuma Kiryu (Kushala Daora) (Kirshala Daoryu)
Haruka Sawamura (Crimson Qurupeco) (Harupeka Qurumura)
Shun Akiyama (Seregios) (Shin Seregiyama)
Hana (Lagombi) (Hagombi)

HIII I'm also in America and studying to be a marine biologist, starting this january! What's your experience been like so far?
Hello! Thanks for the question!
Personally, while I do wish I could give you a long, detailed explanation about the intricacies of marine biology work, or perhaps some story about getting to study fish, unfortunately I actually haven’t done any marine biology classes, and won’t be able to until my Junior year of college (Next year).
Freshman year was mostly filled with a whole lot of prerequisites and not much actual science to be done. While I did take Bio 2 (and had a blast because that’s the stuff I’m interested in) and got to do some dissections on various creatures, everything else was either a language, gen Ed course or math. I had a late start on the math because I initially failed the first math class I took (and now have a permanent strike on my record because of that)
The university low-key set me up with that because they made me sign up in the second part of the summer semester and the normally 14 week college algebra course was condensed into 6 weeks- at 9 in the morning, 3 hour classes, no breaks. Safe to say I failed, but retook the class and passed. (Kinda off topic tangent but I digress)
Therefore my experience of college likely won’t be too similar to yours, but as of sophomore year all of my classes have switched to be fully STEM-related (but that now means unfortunately I’m taking math, chem and bio 1 at the same time which is hell).
TDLR: It’s a lot of math and memorization, and the first year is usually filled with a bunch of prerequisites. Once you pass those first hurdles though, moving on to the STEM field is the next step.
I wish I could’ve been more help! Unfortunately, I too am still waiting for the day I can freely study the fish.

As an apology for not posting recently here’s something that I started but never finished. Although it works perfectly well without the final panel.
If you want to know what’s in the trap; it’s fish. A LOT of fish (I was listening to salmon run music while drawing this).

Last night I had a dream there was a video game called ‘Nishikiyama Fighters’ that was basically just Nishikiyama being a jerk and you were his sidekick.
Every time Nishikiyama is a jerk it repeats this stupid jingle of ‘Nishikiyama Fighters’ and shows this stupid render of Nishikiyama and Nishikiyama’s stats increase like an rpg hero or something.
Just thought I’d share that.

Some misc sketches. Didn’t really feel like finishing the last one. Majima’s forcing Saejima to play pirates with him.
Also. Daigo holding kitty in a box.

Update on my opinions on the show:
I changed my mind. That finale was a pile of steaming hot, rancid garbage. Saving grace was Majima and he only appeared for like 4 minutes.
I still think the first 3 episodes are decent and Nishikiyama’s backstory was the good part of the show.

Fly is literally such a good theme for Mine’s boss fight bro what crack did they put in that song. They could never make me hate you Mine 💔 even if he did some awful things because, he’s just a sigma grindset hustler like that… I want him to come back so bad there’s no way that man’s dead.

I don’t usually share my opinions on tumblr but I thought I’d give my two cents!
So: What are my thoughts on the Yakuza Live Action TV Show??
Quick Answer:
After watching the first 3 episodes,
I don’t hate it, and I don’t think it’s bad.
I might have pretty low standards or whatever, but I did have an enjoyable time with the first 3 episodes. I think there’s a lot of silent characterization that the show gives that a lot of people don’t notice because they’re distracted by the surface level of things. I enjoy the small moments where Nishikiyama and Kiryu act like goofballs; and every moment with Majima is a treat.
The show definitely has its problems, I won’t deny that. My biggest criticisms are the obvious inaccuracies in some of the designs (but that doesn’t bother me too much), the lack of proper Kiryu screen time (Nishiki honestly feels more like the main character than Kiryu does) and the constant switching between 1995 and 2005, which makes the show a bit hard to follow.
In my opinion, the best parts of the show are undoubtedly 2005 Nishikiyama and Majima, who feel the most accurate to their source material. 2005 Nishikiyama’s introduction was phenomenal, and it was done well because it wasn’t done with a bang- it was done silently. The way he simply stands in the shadows and steps out, calling Yumi and asking to meet even though he was already there and had no intention of taking ‘no’ for an answer. That feels like Nishikiyama. It feels right.
And Majima is just hard to mess up, he’s Majima. He feels like Majima.
Overall, while it’s probably the worst piece of yakuza media ever made by RGG, I don’t think it’s necessarily bad, and I find certain aspects of it enjoyable. I’m looking forwards to the next episode.
