Me, after doing 15 minutes of excessive googling on every Batfam member's birthday only to then realize I've accidentally missed the majority of them this year, and then also finding out that people are still aggressively debating over whether Bruce's birthday is April 7 or February 19, Dick's birthday happens 3-6x throughout the year, and Stephanie might have just popped into existence for all that DC cares:

DISCLAIMER: DC is notorious for being super inconsistent with everything and I am a mere tadpole caught in the tidal wave of DC's ocean. This post will be regularly updated with edits and corrections so please do not use it as word of law, I am begging you.

Update (8/24/23): To keep things more simple and easier for everyone I am going to start categorizing the birth dates I've collected into 3 categories.

-Most popular: Self-explanatory. These are the birth dates that have been canonized and confirmed by DC and are also more wildly celebrated by the fandom. Typically, this should be the first result you see when you google the character's birthday. But not always because DC sucks ass.

-Other date(s): These are the additional birth dates I come across that have been canonized in some form with multiple sources, but are not as wildly celebrated or popularized by DC and/or the fandom. Why am I including them here? Mostly because I don't want people coming in saying I forgot a date. But also because if I have to see this mess, then y'all have too as well.

-Potential but unconfirmed date(s): This is where I will put all the other additional dates I find, but specifically those that are lacking in complete sources or seem to be highly debated and scrutinized.

Also fun emoji ranking guide for me and me alone:

👑👑: Queen Shit. Characters with a consistent and simple birth date(s). Can absolutely do no wrong.

👑😮‍💨: In the Running. Characters who don't have a set birth date, but the mess is minor and completely DC's fault. They shouldn't have to be punished for DC's crimes.

🤡🤡: Gtfo. Shit is so inconsistent and stupidly messy that it's making me lose my shit. I'm putting DC and the characters on trial for this bullshit.

(Mini update ((8/18/23)): Well, I just found out that apparently June 27th 2023 is also a highly debated birth date for Terry. As is August 10 2023/2024 and August 18 2023/2024. I even saw a mention of September 19 2023, but I don't know how credible that source actually is. I'm just putting it here because I'm losing my mind and I don't want someone to pop in and say I forgot it omfg I'm dying

I'm just ... why? Why is it so hard to just commit to one month and one date. I'm not even concerned about the exact year. Just commit to ONE, man.

I'm saying this because I've noticed people reblogging this post for actual Batfam bday references and someone already pointed out I fucked up Tim's bday and now I feel bad for everyone who reblogged this post prior to that edit.

It's probably just the anxiety talking, but yeah I just wanted to put that out there.

Also justice for Stephanie Brown! She deserves to have her own special day and if I have to bully DC into giving her a canon birthday, then you bet your ass I fucking will.

(And to all of y'all who are encouraging Dick to keep running his side scam business, I just have this to say: There's an empty Denny's parking lot somewhere out there just waiting for you, too lol)

If I may ask, what are things about Tim/Dick that you like? I haven't seen that ship before, so I'm curious! :)

hello!!! i am the biggest Tim multishipper, i will ship that guy with anyone and everyone. but i have such a soft spot for DickTim and would LOVE to talk about them oh my god

there are so many angles you can use to look at DickTim, but the primary one is their relationship to the Robin mantle and how it influences their relationship to each other. Tim is the Robin that Dick chose and gave his mantle to. because while yes, Dick accepted Jason as Robin, Dick was *not* the one who gave Robin to Jason, that was Bruce. and Dick didn't fully approve of it, not as a slight to Jason but just being protective of his mantle. but Dick approved of and gave his mantle to Tim. and on Tim's side, when Tim came to Dick in the first place, it was to ask *Dick* to be Robin, not to be Robin initially. Tim is Robin because Dick refuses and guides him into that role.

with Dick and Tim in general, there's this repeated insistence on both sides that they know what's best for the other and will try to force the other into that role. Tim thought Dick being Robin was best for Dick (and Bruce) and tries to persuade Dick into that role. and later on, when Dick gives Robin to Damian, in the fandom it gets treated as some big asshole move, but in reality Dick does it because he sees Tim as his equal. he thinks Tim is ready to move on from Robin and doesn't want Tim to be his Robin when Dick is Batman because it would be insulting to Tim. and i'm not going to get into whether or not Dick handled that correctly bc that's a whole other post and that moment gets fanonized as it is, but the point is, Dick was doing what he thought was best for Tim. and the driving force of *any* of their conflict is never genuine malice, it's one of them trying to do what they think is best for the other and it causing disagreements. all of their conflict is born out of love and care for each other. when Dick doesn't believe Tim about Bruce being alive, it's not out of doubt of Tim's detective skills, it's out of love and concern for Tim's mental state. (bc historically, Tim has proven very poor at coping with grief) and i personally deeply enjoy ships that are a tad fucked up and dead dove, and the best way to dead dove DickTim is to make them *too* controlling of each other. they try too hard and go too far trying to "help" each other and that can make for some messy middle ground.

but even at their worst, they still make up. Tim and Dick still managed to get back on good ground after the whole Red Robin thing and Dick immediately trusted and believed Tim. their relationship is not a perfect one, but it's one born out of love and trust. neither of them handle being angry/distant with each other for long and they will always attempt to mend things. i'm rarely a New-52 fan but, i've always loved Tim's reaction during Grayson (2014) when he finds out Dick is alive. (Dick died but came back and has been forced by Bruce to continue faking his death bc he's undercover and all) of everyone, it's Jason and Tim who have the worst reaction to Dick being alive. it's an incredibly hurt betrayal. Tim loves Dick so much he can't fathom the idea of doing that to Dick, so he doesn't know why Dick could do that to him. it's one of my fave DickTim moments. the deep hurt and how long it takes to rebuild that trust. but still Tim immediately works with Dick and is willing to help him with a mission. no matter how angry he is, he will always let Dick in and be there when Dick needs him. it's so crunchy to me. they're not always *good* at making up in their low moments, but they will never stop trying.

furthermore, i know fanon has sort of latched onto "Jason was Tim's Robin/hero" which is certainly cute and fun as a concept, but Tim is canonically the biggest fanboy of Dick Grayson to exist. he loves Dick and he loves the mantle of Robin that Dick has created. i personally firmly believe Tim at some point had a childhood celebrity crush on Dick and i can't be convinced otherwise. Tim views Dick through the lense of Robin bc Tim is just massively Weird about the Robin mantle in such interesting ways. when Tim hallucinates Dick encouraging him during Batman (1940) #456, he hallucinates Dick as Robin, not Nightwing. there's such a pedestal that Tim puts Dick on in his mind, i think it's very easy to see that be a romantic attraction. during the Unternet arc of Red Robin (2009), when Tim is in the Unternet his Red Robin suit looks like a Nightwing suit. it's *very* clearly derivative, and that suit was created by his subconscious as how he sees himself. (as per how the Unternet works and all) so Tim's *idealized* version of Red Robin is built off of Nightwing's image.

more on Dick's side of things, when Dick kills Joker during Joker: Last Laugh #6, he does it because he thinks Joker killed Tim. and to be clear this isn't a heat of the moment thing. this is premeditated, multiple characters try to stop him from finding Joker because he fully plans to kill him, and does. (ofc Bruce gives him CPR and all) it's *Tim's* death that pushes Dick over the edge to compromise his morals, even when he knows killing Joker is just letting Joker win. he can't get over his anger over Tim's supposed death though. Dick is incredibly protective of Tim and I think that's fun to play with how far Dick is willing to go for Tim compared to everyone else.

a lot of characters in the Batfam are purposefully entangled, but Dick and Tim feel very fated in a specific way. Tim was there, when Dick's parents died. he saw it happen and from that moment on, his whole life's trajectory was changed in the direction of Dick. i would argue it's Dick that brought Tim into the fold, not Bruce. there's just so many countless moments of them looking up to each other, checking in on each other, helping each other out, etc, especially during the 90s/2000s. they work remarkably well as a united front against Bruce, for me. when they need to hide something from Bruce or just need someone on their side when Bruce is being Bruce, they always go to each other and trust each other far more than Bruce trusts either of them at times. i think a lot about their dynamic during Batman: Prodigal and how being Batman and Robin while Bruce was... off doing who knows what served as a bonding moment. no one else was really around, it was just Dick and Tim relying on each other and getting to know each other better.

of all of Tim's relationships in the Batfam, i would personally argue he's closest to Dick. so much love is already built into relationship, so turning it romantic is a natural and easy step. you can add a lot of conflict from their more unstable moments of attempting to make choices for the other or just have a very sweet and loving partnership because of their trust in each other. it's such a good ship to me.

It just turns out, they were much younger than everyone expected. Danny went through a lot lately and the less people knew who he was, the less likely he was to return to the operating table.

Wally

The softest ship ever! Reading about them is so cute. All cuddles and snuggles, and full on comfort.

It's the best friends to lovers trope

Haven't read about them in a really long while but they used to be my comfort ship. Like these two are so soft each other that they just make me feel warm inside.

Roy

Roydick is my spicy birdflash ship. Their chemistry was more heated with them constantly getting into arguements but falling together again. Going back to the comics I realize that Roy hero-worships Dick and that's why they get into so many fights. Roy literally thinks Dick is too perfect

There's this post about them which provides comic panels about Roy constantly comparing himself to Dick

But mostly Roy wants all of Dick. He wants Dick's 100% attention of them and he hates-HATES-that Dick gives everything to Batman. It drives him so mad because he thinks Batman doesn't deserve any of Dick's attention.

Literally tells Batman- you ain't shit. I feel bad Dick had to deal with you. He doesn't deserve it for all the greatness he is.

Roy wants all of Dick and that's where I ship them including their complicated issues. What makes their relationship so great is their problems. Neither of them will compromise (Dick won't let go of Bruce and Roy won't let go of that issue), but after all the screaming and fighting they still fall back together.

It's Dick that Roy goes to every time he has to deal with Cheshire.

Kory!! I LOVE DICKKORY SO MUCH!!!

When I think of love, they are the epitome of it. I didn't know it was possible to feel love through paper until I saw them. One look at the chemistry is overwhelming.

"Questions about what's right and what's not, I'll always have them. Questions about my loving you? No! I do. Very much."

Dickkory love is stronger than Dick's moral ethics and Dick's moral ethics?

I've never seen Dick love anyone as much as he did Kory. There are issues that came up ofcourse. I'm pretty sure there was an anti-alien sentiment among the general public (real life?) that affected them and on top of that the Batman office wanting Dick back so they just ripped him away from the titans and rewrote a whole new love story for them while trashing Kory for it but when the public's reaction and Dick's "he's so perfect everyone wants him so let's play around with love interests for him" aside, they were the king and queen of love.

What I love about their relationship is Dick loved Kori for who she was, not how she looked. And Kori loved Dick for who he was and not how he looked. On both sides, sometimes all people see of them are their beauty not their personality or strengths or being.

Barbara

Barbara. The reason I held off on writing this.

My feelings about Barbara are complicated.

She and Dick used to be my OTP. I loved them so much I actually hated Kori for a bit, thinking that Barbara was so much better-when I was solely in the fandom. But oh how the table have turned. Very recently the feather broke the camel's back so my feelings about the two of them have changed.

Long story short, they're better off friends. But my favorite moments come from mostly short haired Barbara comics.

This Barbara was AWESOME. She was so chill and cool and funny. She would be smart but not in a demeaning way to others.

Apollo/Midnighter

love them!

I think Midnighter would totally seduce Dick into a frenemies with benefits arrangement. I mean he's halfway there.

But aside from the usual flirting, Midnighter really, really, REALLY respects Dick's fight skills. I'm sure you've seen the panels of that already but since posts have a 30 image limit I'mma skip over that to the other reason: his greater-that-meta-human tenacity. Things and circumstances that take out metahumans, Dick surpasses through sheer will power and dedication.

So I mostly ship Dick/Midnighter but Apollo would probably join in too at some point.

Constantine

Never getting over how John-I don't do things I don't have to-Constantine saved someone because their body was hot and and their butt looked good. But later on in the comic he talks about how cool he was and what he describes Dick as is when asked about him is:

Back Awhile by Cobwebbs: Tim gets deaged and not only is attached to Jason, but a complete menace to him. My favorite part of this fanfic is how Tim stresses Jason out and Jason is secretly getting fonder with toddler Timmy.

hi!! loved New Wave & its Jason addition, was wondering if you have any Opinions about the weird characterization of Jason in the comics/fandom?

Oh Jesus. You are talking to a certified fanon Batfam hater jkaljdsfkljsdf. In some senses, yes I do.

I see more 'good or at least interesting' depictions of Jason than I do pretty much any other Batfam character. A lot of the best Batfam fic has an extremely strong Jason POV. From a group dynamics perspective, having a Jason is important. Jason is important: his death irrevocably altered Batman as a series, marked a serious turning point in kid sidekicks and comics as a whole, and created a few pretty good storylines.

It's hard to say 'what's the real Jason characterization', because he constantly cross-contaminates himself. Jason's character is little more than the lens through which he's viewed, and what comes afterwards. Pre-Crisis Jason is indistinguishable from Dick. Post-Crisis Jason isn't that different either, until they decided to kill him, at which point they very quickly gave him all of his character traits we know him for today. Retrospectives on Jason for twenty years were of both this pre-post-humorous angry/impulsive version and The Dead Kid nostalgia, and now they're colored by his Red Hood anger and 'glory days' nostalgia. And then we've had the Batfam-ization of Batman comics and none of that matters anyway, because they're blorbos now.

@lazuliquetzal has remarked several times that the real problem with Red Hood is that you can use him for drama, like, once or twice - that he's a very good foil character for one or two very specific storylines. I agree. I think further usage of the RH as a villain should be separated from the Batfam, since you can't reconcile his pro-killing stance with the Batfam non-killing stance. Give him a different story if you want, but I think it's hard to slot the actual Red Hood character back into the Batfam. Not even sure that you should.

I think the main thing for me is that I don't understand why the 'good end' is always 'Bring Jason Home!' - why reconciliation is mandatory, why what we want is him moving back into the manor and having family dinners. Why. He's 19. Let him live by himself in his shitty apartment and smoke weed and shittalk his dad. He's an adult, he doesn't have to talk to any of you if he doesn't want to. He really doesn't want to. There is more than one way for a family to function, and it doesn't have to look like family dinners.

Regarding fic: obviously the softening and defanging is boring. There's an entire genre of stories where 'Jason hates Tim until he actuall meets him, at which point he's blasted by Tim's #woobie and starts taking care of him", but in the '10s the biggest conflict with Jason is that he irrationally hates a fourteen year old who did nothing wrong completely to the point where he keeps on trying to kill him. For a decade he was just melodramatic yelling. I think people are more interested in writing cute dynamics than they are characters, and Jason is forced into the sympathetic family dynamic as a result. Comics now do this too, because, fandomization,

Young Jason stories are also entirely whump, which is obviously boring. I've mentioned this before, but a big part of my thoughts behind the NW!Jason fic are just that there are a lot of 'Jason comes to the manor' fics, and in very little of them do Jason and Bruce actually like each other. It's pure whump and family bonding over any actual interest in the characters. Thing about whump is just - put in literally any character there, it doesn't matter. Pick anyone. Who cares.

This is all ignoring the number one biggest thing for me, which is: the fandom is obsessed with Jason, and I am sick of Jason, it is all Jason. Even Tim is worse off in comparison, because he gets moe blob'd so Jason can take care of him. Go write the women. Seriously. Jason's a whump magnet and it's exhausting, go write Cass Cain having a character arc.

TL;DR: Batfam fanfic only cares about cute brotherly fluff and whump and it is so fucking bad, man.

anyways so in no particular order or tier system:

✯ i don’t think jack would wear anything feminine im sorry spn fandom. for lolz he has same-outfit-pattern-everyday autism and for serious it’s like. Really weird how fandoms tend to HC/portray non-binary amabs (and men/transmascs in general) almost exclusively as GNC or fem-presenting…like DGMW that is a real and valid form of self expression but it’s not the Only type of non-binary expression that exists. and honestly…**dare I say that most fandom/queer spaces just need to realize that queer masculinity exists and it doesn’t always have to be a matter of breaking gender norms??

** genuinely do whatever u want idc I can’t stop you i don’t want to stop you yada yada. paint his nails and put him in a skirt all u want but Please recognize patterns yall 😭

✯ more headcanon complaints (see disclaimer above ⇧) but I promise to switch it up soon. anyways every time somebody on this lil website says something along the lines of “Jack can’t handle/doesn’t like [insert violence, scary or adult-oriented thing], he prefers [soft or blatantly childlike things]” I shrivel inward like a dead spider. It’s annoying, it’s completely inaccurate to his canon personality and interests, it’s annoying ˣ2, and whether ppl wanna admit it or not—it stems from infantilization. not necessarily ableism, as infantilization is not exclusive to disabled people, but still just about the same thing.

honestly all I see of majority jack headcanons are ones that set him back to just being a child or otherwise being treated like one. for example, the one about him being able to shapeshift is pretty cool...until it just becomes about him deciding to age regress, yknow, to an age set he canonically chose not to go through, showed no desire to be in, and is more offended than anything to be considered as such. all of his interests have to be some shit like bluey or animal crossing, and he drinks apple juice from a sippy cup instead of beer. BARF.

I’ve lessened on my keyboard warring over babyjack in the past year but I have not lessened in being a hater. and I’ve said this before, but the baby-jack au already breached headcanon containment a long time ago when it’s not only so widespread that ppl take it for canon and it makes having any intelligent conversation about him nearly fucking Impossible, but it also lead to harassment and accusations of being a fucking predator, to anyone who dared find a whole grown man attractive. any potential jack ship, like jackharper? automatic grooming case to them. it’s like the fandom is just so dead set on this idea that jack really truly is a child in every aspect you can think of, and for what? if it’s just a headcanon, something you know is not part of the actual show, then don’t go Travis the Chimp levels of apeshit when you see him being treated like he is canonically 💀

unpopular opinion numero 3 which is slightly connected to 2:

✯ baby-jack and a handful of the domestic au’s are BORING (see disclaimer again ⇧), not just on a surface level to my suiting, but also because I feel like it just ..misses the point of the show?

the ragtag untraditional found family is now as nuclear and traditional as the Atomic Age. Dean and Cas are the most heteronormative “who wears the pants in the relationship” gay couple ever, Sam is demoted to the uncle that gets written out of his own family, Jack is just there to make his gay dads look cute and emphasize that they’re a gay family (while still being very heteronormative), and at least 5 of them could be found in a California gated community. everything that made any of them unique or defined their personalities is just scrubbed off, even for an AU.

so much of the later seasons focus on Sam and Dean realizing that they don’t have to make a hard splitting decision between the lives they want to live; that they can find a balance; be happy and have good things—namely families—without giving up hunting (and vice versa, that they can have hunting without giving up on family or happiness). everybody loves the gay hunters from S10(?12?) and what they represented for Dean, but I almost never see that be put into practice in the fandom.

THEY’RE ALREADY DOMESTIC!!! AND WITH THAT PERFECT BALANCE!!!! Season 13 quite literally gave Team Free Will a surrogate son to raise and established them as a family; highly untraditional, largely dysfunctional, overall not fitting of a family family, and yet they are a family still. Dean wears an apron and cooks and bakes for everyone; he built himself a man cave and established two separate family night events that they all ritually keep up; Sam has a morning jogging routine and visits his girlfriend every so often; Jack was taught how to drive, has normal chores like washing dishes, and gets groceries. And they didn’t just have that while fighting monsters—they had that while fighting a whole fucking archangel. Even if it did go down the gutter by the end, they still had it: domestic familial bliss and violent messy hunting without having to trade one for the other.

✯ I truly genuinely think Jack’s relationship with Dean is the best, most interesting and most misunderstood out of the three, and I also think that the problems with his relationship to Cas and Sam are hugely overlooked by the fandom—granted they are very small, especially if you’re comparing it to Dean, but they’re still there and I think we should bully Cas and Sam about it more. I shan’t elaborate because it’s 5AM and this was an impulsive add-on ❤️

✯ getting normal now…his plaid pattern jacket from the first half of Ouroboros is ugly as SHIT i have never liked it and don’t think I ever will. but I cannot deny it; he got that shit on.

Are Tim and Cass Cain actually close in canon? Or is that more of a fanon thing that gained canon status?

Alright, so the tldr answer is that yes pre-reboot they were close—but it wasn't something that happened immediately/right off the bat, it took time, and they didn't always perfectly see eye-to-eye. But like, it's not just some totally fanon thing, they were absolutely close.

I'm using past-tense in the above though because it's like... all the actual content with them becoming/being close is pre-reboot. Anything post-reboot with them either had them back at square one (during N52 stuff) or like, just sort of handwavey 'oh they're close again' without much actual elaboration/explanation. Theoretically nowadays everything's canon again so all the old stuff applies, but as far as I'm aware nothing has really dug all that deep back into the two of them/their dynamic.

Now, to give a brief crash course on Tim & Cass's relationship in canon...

Early on they weren’t all that close because Tim was absolutely intimidated by her & her background and like, in general seemed to just find her kinda off-putting:

However Tim eventually gets over himself & after working side-by-side with her a little bit realizes he shouldn't let being intimidated by her stop them from being friends and working together:

After this point they work together on several occasions, definitely communicating much better than in their initial appearances together and clearly getting along well. They're a fun lil duo:

(Superman/Batman Vol. 1 #5, Superboy Vol. 4 #85)

Then… after a while, War Games happens. Gotham goes to shit, Steph dies (well, we nowadays know she didn't really, but they sure were both grieving) and so they both independently move to Blüdhaven, which leads us to the Robin/Batgirl: Fresh Blood crossover. Which has some fun little moments with them:

As well as some on the more tense side, as they both navigate mourning Steph and the clashes in their ideologies/approaches to hero work—the fact that Cass wants to be & be like Batman, and the fact that Tim absolutely does not:

After the crossover they mostly do their own thing staying out of each other's ways in Blüdhaven—though they do get another little story together in this timeframe in Batman Allies: Secret Files & Origins that sort of rehashes the above conflict during some training together & a team-up.

And we DO also get the cute (and oft-mentioned by the fandom) moment where Tim mentions she frequently breaks into his house to shower & steal rice krispies (just for clarity sake, while fandom almost exclusively calls her 'Cass' largely to avoid confusion with Cassandra 'Cassie' Sandsmark, within the comics themselves both Cassandras get called 'Cass' and 'Cassie' at various points—considering Cass is the one who lives in the same city as Tim at this point in canon, that's definitely who he's talking about here)

So like, at this point they are absolutely comfortable with one another and pretty close, but just, they don't see eye-to-eye on everything so it's not some flawless friendship (and I say friendship specifically because at this point we're still a few years out from them actually becoming siblings). But it's absolutely an interesting dynamic!

Then… after Infinite Crisis we get to the One Year Later/OYL era which is... bad for Cass. Terrible horrible character assassination we all refer to as the 'Evil Cass arc' which began in Tim's book. I don't wanna pull panels from it because it's just... it's bad!!!!!!!!!!!! There's a reason it got retconned into Cass having been brainwashed—because it was bad.

I guess the only thing worth bringing up here in relation to Tim & Cass's relationship though (because as mentioned, Cass gets retconned into it having been brainwashing so anything from her in this era is irrelevant/moot) is the fact that Tim was obviously very upset about the whole situation because Cass is someone he cares about and he even says he considers family.

To fast forward through that mess, when we get to the end of it and the 'oh it was brainwashing haha!' retcon, Tim was the one to have on hand a counter-serum that could free her from Deathstroke's control:

Once Cass is no longer forced to be evil and ooc, she gets a little mini at the end of which Bruce formally offers to adopt her (and Tim, who had earlier been adopted by Bruce, is present for this—so from this point on they go from a more general 'we're like family' to actually 'we are adopted siblings').

Buuuut then Final Crisis & Battle for the Cowl both occur and Cass gets extremely pushed aside by DC, giving up the Batgirl mantle to Steph and heading off to Hong Kong.

At which point we find out that Tim & Cass have actually kept in contact (just... off-panel) during this time when she's been out of Gotham and he's been off doing all sorts of stuff:

When they see each other in person again, Tim urges her to be a Bat again. Maybe not Batgirl if that's not what she wants, but to wear the symbol and be part of the family. (Which she does take him up on, keeping the suit he brought her and becoming Black Bat).

She pops up again at the end of Red Robin to save Tim & also help him pull off a fake assassination attempt on himself—ya know standard stuff.

And then right before the reboot we get to see them working alongside Damian and Dick in Gates of Gotham, and see one final time that yeah—these two have kept in touch after everything, and are definitely far more on one another's wavelength nowadays than they were back in the 'fresh out of War Games' era:

So like, does fanon over exaggerate them and their relationship? Aaaaabsolutely—that’s what fanon does. But they did definitely become close after everything they went through and had a fun dynamic together!

Sadly though, as I mentioned at the start of the post, the n52 wiped everything back to a clean slate. And while nowadays post-Infinite Frontier everyone’s histories have been restored their dynamic has never really been the same again.

Let’s actually post something before I get distracted again.

So I wrote something for the Batman fandom (terrifying it’s a big fandom!)

But because I have no chill I wrote… a bit more. Then went overboard as always.

Anyways I specifically wrote an AU/sequel/post-canon fix it thing

(two more points to me being awful at writing fan fiction. all the respect to you' all who can write good fics.)

for the Film "The Doom That Came to Gotham".

(specifically the film and not the comic book, I have not read it.)

an Elseworld story that combines Lovecraft horror and Batman, set in the 1920s, and speedruns introducing as many batman rouges as they can get on their bingo card. also Oliver Queen (aka green arrow) is here.

I've got my issues with the film, but I'll save those for some other day and some other post if I post more of my concept art. which that's what this is! concept art and me figuring out how I want to draw the different members of the bat fam (aah why are they so hard to draw?

Halloween Headcanons (Months early lol)

My last post was such a flop I heard the crickets chirping before I even got on tumblr omg

Since nobody is giving me ideas, I'm just gonna do short n sweet headcanons on one (at least) character from each of the fandoms I'm in... Or at least the ones I can remember. Idk why but I can't wait until spooky month so we're doing Halloween-themed HCs!!!!!! I frickin' love the holidays :D

I won't be using images in my post this time just because I'm like half asleep and I need to yap. (I have no energy and I must yap /ref)

First up, Jason Todd! (Batman)

I think he'd avoid dressing up for trick or treating because his fave is Wonder Woman... Bro's not about to traumatize every child that sees him. However, if he is craving candy hard enough, he'd go in a lazier or goofy costume. You know those unicorn onesies? That's for if he isn't in the mood for ghits and shiggles. An inflatable dinosaur costume is his go-to if he's in a better mood.

I bet he'd have everything planned, too. He knows where all the rich people are and which ones give out the full-sized candy bars or any cool light up toys that make little kids jealous because they have no idea where to find them at.

If he were to go trick or treating with anyone, I think it'd probably be the Batfam as a whole (They don't trust him with not stealing some kid's candy bucket).

Next, Touya Todoroki! (MHA)

This is an AU one where he isn't dying because I don't want him to die (Insert sob emoji).

Since Enji himself is in a wheelchair, he isn't able to push Touya around. He was absolutely devastated by that and begged Natsuo and Fuyumi to take their older brother out to trick or treat since Shoto was with his friends.

Touya would either do a costume to heal his inner child or a lazier one that's comfortable and doesn't irritate his skin. Either way, he's demanding that they go to every house around no matter how long it takes. Any time he gets candy he doesn't like, he asks Natsuo to trade with him LOL

At the end of the night, Enji has to lock away the candy so Touya doesn't scarf it all down and get a stomach ache. He does anyway since it was 'hidden' in the same spot it had always been.

Onto Arlan! (HSR)

My boy doesn't get enough love <3

I think his excitement after hearing about Halloween's existence would be enough to convince the spaceship to set up little stalls for him, Asta, MC, and Peppy to run around to collect candy. He and Asta would probably have matching costumes like ketchup and mustard bottles or pb and j or something cute like that. Or it'd be a three-way deal since Asta would dress Peppy up in some cute little costume.

Arlan would definitely sit on the floor with Asta and MC and trade candies so they each get what they wanted. Asta would have some dog treats for Peppy so they weren't left out :)

At the night's end, Arlan would probably be caught falling asleep, still in costume with a half-eaten candy bar in hand.

Now, Bennett! (Genshin Impact)

He, Razor, Chongyun, and XIngqiu would get together and go out trick or treating. He tried to convince Fischl to go with, but she refused, claiming it was far too childish for someone of her status. That meant "Please bring me back some sweets".

He had a bag specifically for Fischl :)

As the night went on, the boys managed to have good luck. Bennett had never been happier since he was internally horrified of ruining the others' night by only getting raisins, toothbrushes, and apples or having someone's bag rip.

All went well and everyone got a pretty good amount of candy. Even Fischl.

Yap session is done! I kinda wanted to do DMCB stuff or Steven Universe stuff, but my creativity juice ran out. I hope y'all liked this one :D I'll probably do another one when it's actually October. (evaporates I FORGOT JJK oh well)

There is no x reader in this fandom and I have to do something about it (rip Ms Queef @zerodayimagine)

- first off. Dating Andre would mean Cal just always being. There. Either physically or as a topic of conversation

- he'd thirdwheel on your dates to follow along behind you and complain

- "You Me and Steve" type situation

- Cal also probably wouldn't like you, because of you hanging around so closely with Andre. You'd get passive aggressive'd at constantly

- if the sidewalk isn't wide enough for three people you might end up walking behind them

- you might end up thirdwheeling on your own dates, honestly

- Andre would be ready to leave at a moment's notice to go hang out with Cal

- it'd be like dating Batman except instead of fighting crime he's zipping outta there to talk about killing people with his best friend

- HOWEVER, if Cal has fucked off to Australia or been snatched up by a bird or something, or him and Andre aren't that codependent, Andre... would still be a difficult boyfriend

- he's not exactly Mr Communication

- getting him to be your boyfriend in the first place would be a difficult task, because he's shy in his own weird way, and if he liked you back he'd react by pressing his feelings down and avoiding you

- he's the type to get crushes very rarely, but have them intensely and for a long time, from a distance

- to have a crush, or god forbid tell the person, would be to be vulnerable, and he's not good at that kind of thing

- best you'd get at first would be him making fun of you (to try and get your attention). But if anybody asked if he had a crush on you he'd say no

- you might have to chase him down with a shotgun I dunno

- it would take a while for him to build up trust and let you get to know him, but he doesn't do that for many people, so if he lets you get that far it means he really wants you around

- he'd show up to your first date wearing like a full bottle of cologne (got nervous)

- he'd be very cute to fluster

- he'd be possessive, too, and easily jealous, and he wouldn't like you talking to other guys at all

- he'd get pissed off and suspicious if he saw you talking to some dude outside of class, but he wouldn't say he was jealous. He'd just get kinda pissy and ask you why you were talking to "that asshole" and etc. Carrying on and such

- he's insecure, but once again, not gonna say that, just gonna get kinda mad or overprotective

- he'd take pride in being a "manly" type boyfriend, too. He really wants you to think he's cool

- he'd want to pay for stuff, get doors, walk on the outside of the sidewalk, that sort of thing

- you'd be introduced to his family, he's the type to go the traditional route, and his parents would want to meet you

- he's not very physically or verbally affectionate, he didn't grow up in a household that did that sort of thing so it doesn't come naturally to him

- he'd show his feelings for you through actions, subtly worrying over you, and being overprotective

- he also doesn't need to constantly be with you all the time, he just doesn't want you to be with anyone else

- however he would secretly really want physical affection. He'd probably deep down like being the little spoon. He's a bit starved

- I think he'd like you holding him and petting his hair

- all in all it'd take a lot to get to him and go through the layers of defensiveness, embarrassment, insecurity, and general emotional incompetency, but he'd be loyal as hell and might get a bit obsessed with you. For better or worse

an assortment of thoughts after my reread of nightwing: brothers in blood

(omg kalis user jason todd means filipino jason todd— okay yes ik it's a kris and that talia gave it to him and that a kalis is longer, sword length, but let me be delusional for a moment)

fanon and ao3 would have you believe that dick would be reaming bruce out for his behavior in batman: under the hood. it is a delight to rediscover that though dick remains #1 batman arguer, he has not done anything of the sort in regards to how bruce has treated jason's return.

i lied in the post title, btw. i actually have only one main thought about this run.

i have a proposition to make, batman fandom: dick is actually more wary of Jason then bruce is.

i think—dick heavily dislikes jason for always being able to uncover the old wound. i think as someone who's been there since the start, has seen bruce through his best and his worst, cannot stand this grinning spectre upending all the progress bruce has made with his grief. and! i think a part of dick has always felt unsettled that even he couldn't completely heal that grief. and the one person who could do it (he thinks), the one person who is against all odds alive to do it—what does jason do? he needles the wound open. he won't let it rest. he beats up dick's little brother. he sows chaos all over gotham and dick's new city. he saw bruce drown in the self-destructive depression for years and the one person who might have helped ease it in a way no one else could is too busy cutting a bloody swath through various cities.

i think, also, that this—detachment, if you will, is aided by the fact that dick and jason did not know each other as well as they might have. jason was taken in after bruce fired dick, so nightwing was still taking off solo. they have been able to connect and dick and jason have very cute interactions pre-ditf but it's a drop in the ocean compared to dick and tim's relationship.

there is also, i think, a disconnect between robinjay and red hood jason—his little brother died with robinjay, and whoever the red hood is is almost a stranger

He's someone from a long, long time ago. Black sheep of the family, as it were. His name is Jason Todd. He thinks he's me. This may sound crazy, but... he's supposed to be dead. Twice over.

"from a long, long time ago." and like i said, there's this almost detachment from dick, no (positive) reminiscence of jay's robin days. i do think that dick, wrt jason, is mostly unrestrained by past sentiment—or at least he's better at separating that sentiment than bruce, who although tries to remain objective in his chase against red hood, is also notably shaken, to the point that jason was able to force his hand & drive him to panic, leading to half-thought, panicked decisions that a level-headed batman would not have made (as i think we are all in agreement that bruce would not actively decide to disarm his son via batarang to the throat, especially considering his no-kill rule.)

there's more i'd like to say, but this is most of it—i don't want to drown the dash with batman rambling, but im asking yall to consider it. think about how delicious this dynamic is!! there's so so much to explore!!! and i think it really hammers home just how much the world has changed during jason's death & disappearance 🫣

a final aside before i end this post:

JASON: That's Blüdhaven.

BRUCE: Dick...?

JASON: My God. Is Nightwing there? Imagine that. One son returns from the grave as another enters it... what a fitting ending this has become.

i adore jason's reaction to blüdhaven blowing up in utrh. he's like "my god... 😮 is nightwing there? 🤭 imagine that 😗" HE'S SO SILLYYY. bruce is anguished, having a Time because his exploded son is back from the dead just in time for his other son to also (possibly) die in an explosion—as jason says, "one son returns from the grave as another enters it"—and jason is GIGGLING. i hate him so much <3

Finding Each Other-Chapter 4

Fandom: Superman, Batman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman

Characters: Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Dick Grayson, Diana Prince, Billy Batson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Kara Zor El, Damian Wayne, Cassandra Cain, Alfred Pennyworth, Lex Luthor, Jonathan Kent, Connor Kent

Summary: Clark Kent always knew he wanted a family. He just always thought it would be traditional like his parents. Little did he know that destiny had something different in store for him.

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3

As Clark woke up, he felt pressure on his arm and along his side. He opened his eyes and smiled. B was still cuddled in his arms on the balcony lying on the bench which somehow turned into a bed during their late-night fucking. Clark looked around and saw that the sun was out and shining brightly. He loved feeling the sun’s rays against his skin. He definitely needed it. It was the first time outside of battle that he ever felt sore but in a good way.

B was different from his previous partners. For starters, B was insatiable. He had the stamina of the Energizer Bunny. He kept going and going until Clark honestly lost count of the number of times they had sex after the tenth time. As insatiable as B was, he was a little surprised that B took off everything but his black t-shirt. When Clark tried to pull it off, B gave him a hesitant look which caused Clark to back off. Once he did that, B smirked and pounced on him. It was odd, but he did notice that B had several scars on his legs.

Maybe he has worse ones on his chest.

As Clark started caressing B’s leg, he smiled. B’s legs and arms were very muscular.

He must have a rigorous health regime to stay fit.

“Are you looking for round two?”

Clark looked down startled to see that B was smiling at him coyly.

Clark smiled while cuddling into B more and said, “I was just admiring is all. I am still recovering from our last round.”

B smirked and asked, “I tired out a big, strong, and handsome man like yourself? That I find hard to believe.”

Clark chuckled and said, “Believe it. I am sore in places that I didn’t know possible.”

B looked down and said, “Oh. Sorry about that. Sometimes, I can come across as too intense.”

Clark smiled softly while pushing B’s face up and gently caressing his cheek.

“I am sore, but in a good way. I have never been with anyone who could keep up with me like that before. It was very refreshing, and something I would love to explore again.”

B smiled coyly and said, “Ah, so you would like there to be a next time.”

Clark smirked and said, “Well, I did ask you on that date.”

B smiled as he leaned in to kiss Clark who leaned into the embrace. They stayed in each other’s arms until B leaned back and rested his head on Clark’s forehead.

B said, “I look forward to seeing where you take me.”

B leaned down to kiss Clark on the cheek and then started to get up.

“We should go downstairs and have breakfast.”

Clark looked up at B startled and asked, “Are you sure you want me to stay?”

B smiled and said, “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?”

Clark chuckled nervously while rubbing the back of his neck and said, “I didn’t want to create an awkward situation between you and your son if he is up.”

B chuckled while looking down at his watch and said, “You don’t have to worry about Dick. It is 8 am right now. Dick is normally not up until after 10 on the weekends.”

Clark breathed a sigh of relief. He thought that Dick was a cute and bright kid, but he didn’t want to have an awkward scene explaining why he was in the house in the same outfit as he was wearing last night.

The duo got dressed and headed out of the library. As they headed downstairs, Clark noticed B veered off to stop on the second floor. He followed B curiously until they went to the last room down the hall. Clark marveled at the room as they went inside. It was a huge bedroom. It had a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom, several dressers, a computer, a TV, a gaming station, and a walk-in closet. As B headed for the walk-in closet, he said, “I just wanted to change into something more comfortable. If you like, you can borrow some of my stuff so you don’t want to walk around in your suit.”

Clark chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck and said, “I’m fine. I don’t want to be too much trouble.”

B smiled while coming out of the walk-in closet dressed in a fitted black tank top and grey sweatpants. Clark nearly drooled at how the whole look accentuated B’s muscles. B walked up to Clark with a blue t-shirt and black sweatpants.

“I have a spare you can use. It is really no problem.”

As B placed the items in Clark’s hand, Clark rubbed the back of his neck and said, “You really don’t have to do this. I will be fine in the…”

Clark’s eyes widened as he felt the fabric of the items. He looked down at the clothing in shock and began rubbing them more and said, “These are softer than even the sheep I used to help raise on the barn. Where did you get these?”

B looked up thoughtfully and said, “I would have to ask Alfred. A friend of his created a unique cotton polyester blend in his clothing for their shop in the UK.”

Clark kept rubbing the back of his hand against the fabric.

I have never felt anything this soft. This is so amazing!

Clark looked up sheepishly and asked, “Are you sure you're okay with me wearing this out?”

B chuckled and said, “I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t mind parting with it.”

Clark smiled and said, “Thanks!”

Clark quickly put on his new outfit while B went into his walk-in closet again. As Clark finished getting dressed, B came out with a garment bag and placed Clark’s suit in it.

Clark smiled and said, “Thanks so much for this!”

B smiled and said, “You're welcome. Now let’s get something to eat. A certain someone left me particularly ravenous.”

Clark blushed as he followed B downstairs back to the kitchen. Clark was startled to see Alfred not only awake and dressed, but already placing down two plates with food already on the table.

As Clark and B sat at the table, B said, “Morning Alfred.”

“Morning young Sir. I take it you had a good evening given the smile on your face,” said Alfred as he headed to the table with cups and pitchers of orange juice, apple juice, and milk and a pot of tea.

B smirked while looking at Clark causing him to blush and said, “I had a really good time last night.”

Clark chuckled while looking down as Alfred came to the table with his own plate of food. After a couple of moments, Clark looked back up and noticed that on his plate were bacon, eggs, toast, sausage, and a stack of pancakes.

As Clark started to eat, he looked at Alfred thoughtfully and asked, “Do you guys normally have breakfast at this hour?”

Alfred smirked and said, “No, not on the weekends. However, I had a feeling you guys might be up. If you come around here long enough Master Clark, you will realize that I am aware of everything that happens in this household.” Alfred turned to Bruce with a raised eyebrow, and said, “And I mean everything.”

B paused eating to give Alfred the side eye while Clark nearly choked on the apple juice he was drinking.

Did he hear us last night? Crap! I hope I didn’t leave a bad impression.

B went back to slowly eating his food and said, “I hope we didn’t disturb you last night, Alfred.”

Alfred looked up at Bruce with a raised eyebrow and said, “I did get an unexpected surprise when I went to the library to return the book I was reading this morning. One might remember to want to close the balcony door next time.”

Clark nearly spit up his food. B looked over at Alfred sheepishly.

As Alfred went to take a sip of tea, he said, “I just hope that the young Sir would let you stay in one of the guest rooms next time. While the balcony has an amazing view, it does get chilly out there at night.”

B chuckled sheepishly and said, “You never hold back your punches, Alfred.”

Alfred smirked while drinking more tea and said, “No, not at all.”

Clark looked at Alfred mortified and sputtered, “I…am…so…sorry. I…know what…it….must…have…looked…..like…”

You sat at your kitchen table with a tube of ice cream in your hand and the tv remote in the other. Anything to block out your asshole ex would be great right about now. Most of your ice cream began to melt a little from you constantly mixing it in circular motions. Your phone vibrates from an unknown caller. The message came through from a different number from her ex. Without rolling your eyes you answer.

“What?” you scold.

“We aren’t together anymore, right?” you rolled your eyes holding your phone.

“I said I was sorry for cheating ok? Come on everything we've been through? Give me another chance, babe pleasee” he didn’t sound genuine at all. You sigh a big relief and give a blank “No” before landing your device beside you. You exhaled a bit before a wisp of despair rushed over you.

“Don’t cy, don’t cry” you whisper before little tears welled up in the corner of your eyes. You hear a click of a door and wipe your cheeks clean.

“Oh hey Eddie you’re back early” you tried to hide your pink cheeks from him. “Um no not really, I always come back here around this time.”

“Wow (Y/N) what happened to you?” Are you ok? Why are your cheeks so red (Y/N)?” Eddie sat his backpack down before coming over to you.

"No don’t worry about me Ed I’m ok I just needed some time to think that’s all” you begin to cry even more. Eddie already knew who did this to you. It was that asshole ex of yours always taking you for granted. He had noticed this has been going on for a while now and couldn’t stand him at all. Ever single ounce of his being wanted to mash that guy into a million different pieces if he could. He didn’t deserve you at all. Every phone call or text you would send goes unnoticed or unanswered for hours even days before getting a reply. It was bound to happen that you both were going to break up anyhow. Why would Edward pray upon the downfall of his lover? He only wanted to see you happy too, but.. With him. So he just stuck it out until eventually you came crawling back to him. Eddie pushed his glasses up and slowly placed your soft head against his chest. He softly stroked the crown of your hair while shushing you. You bury your face in his heavy sweater inhaling in his scent. If anyone else was there for you it was always him. The only common guy who made sense in all of this mess.

“Don’t cry sweetheart” Eddie whispered. Anger boiled inside of him. Edward of course couldn’t let this slide, or go under the radar. But somehow he needed to figure out what he could do to stop his little precious girl from crying. He’ll take care of him later. You close your eyes and listen to his sweet hums.

“I’m sorry you had to see me like this” you look up at him. “No no no don’t bother” Edward cusped your cheeks together. He wiped a tear away before sitting in the chair next to you. Your smooth soft hair felt so delicate to his touch. It smelled like beautiful coconut shells and lavender.

“(Y/N)” Edward softly pulled a curl around your face. “Mmm?” you moaned. “Um.. You know what I’m about to say right?”

“What exactly?” you questioned.

“You deserve someone better than him.” “Yea I know” you whispered.

“So why put up with it? You’re so smart, kind, and beautiful and funny”

“Well I thought he was the one, He was everything I thought I needed in a guy. But hey I guess that proved me wrong.” There was a silent pause before you continued. Edward looked down for a moment and wondered what else he could do to make you feel better. “You know something Eddie?” You smirked and bit your lower lip.

“Yea?” he looked into your eyes so innocently. “I think the guy I needed in my life was someone like you” you giggle a bit.

“Really?” his pulse began to race wondering what was happening.

“I-I think you’re just telling me that” he stuttered. “Eddie, you've been with me through a lot of things, and I can’t imagine living here without you. You’ve made my life so much easier. All the late night dinners, laundry and car rides you’ve arranged for me.” You hold his cheek in your hand and turn his beautiful eyes toward you.

“Don’t you think so?” “I think we both share love for each other more than we realized.

“I agree" You locked eyes with him and leaned in to kiss his lips. Edward's heart races even harder feeling this intimacy he’s never felt before. This wasn’t Edward’s first time kissing a girl since he’s had other hookers in the past but with you he felt an immense fire and spark he’s been dying to feel between you both. Eddie sucked your bottom lip to gain more access to your luscious lips. You moan even more not realizing how dominant he could be. Eddie pecked both of your hot cheeks and held your delicate hands into his. He rubbed your fingers massaging any knots that stressed his lover out.

“For now on and always, I’ll be the one by your side (Y/N)”. You chuckled a bit.

“Now I’m crying from happiness” you teased. Eddie grinned and grazed your chin.

“That’s how it always should be sugar plum”

“I say we forget that loser and let me take care of you mm?” Edward wiped another tear from across your face.

“Are you sure about it? I’m a grown woman I can take ca-” Eddie stopped you mid sentence. “Don’t worry about it baby, I got you” Eddie pecked lips. “For now let’s go get some rest” Eddie pulled you by your hand and guided you to your bedroom.
