yeah i wasn’t kidding when i said these would be coming soon. <- haha funny joke marshall. so!! remember when i said that this post would be coming out last weekend? guess whose tablet broke a few days after saying that! so sorry for the delay!! this is long overdue. here’s a link to the drive, as always! everything in this part of the update should be in the miscellaneous folder (outside of the menu icons, which are in the menu folder. wauaua).

so! all of this was already done by the time i posted the enemies. the delay isn’t *entirely* because of the tablet issues, i just managed to get distracted by making: even more redraws! i’d say new update soon but after what happened last time i shouldn’t jinx myself. but! almost All of the art for the initial mod release is done!!!! exciting!!!!!!

please be nice to me (silly) this is my first time doing frame by frame animation in… give or take 5 years? i followed the original animations pretty closely, so they don’t look Awful but i am Aware of the jank. i’m not an animator!!! they’re Good Enough for my purposes.

hey did you know that the original teleport map is slightly off center. did you know that. that’s not the case for the redraw for the record but it did make things a little harder. despite that, i think you can tell i was having fun with the dormont part of the map. i would’ve put more detail into the house, but we never really get a more detailed look at it??? and i didn’t want to make assumptions. so that part’s just traced from the original 👍. anyways shoutout to the clocktower being Curved for whatever reason

outside of those, all of the added art is actually just spritework. i didn’t know this at first, but there’s a TON of copies of sprites from the icon set. Basically Everywhere. so those are added now! and should work properly! also added a few sprites that were Missing from my original batch. not going to put them all here, but a few Important ones (which i actually had to make new art for) are the rock paper scissors cheatsheet, the Larger versions of the craft signs (used in the calamité fight and. probably somewhere else idk), and the craft signs for the tutorial kid fight!

aaaand i think that’s it! for stuff from this update. yeah no there’s more coming buddy. my tablet already broke one time this week there’s no way it’s happening twice. i’m not working on portraits Just Yet (though the temptation has been There), but i’ve got the title screens, a few backgrounds, and the ending cgs done! along with a few other assorted cgs sketched out. because im out of my fucking mind. so, uh, see you soon!! enjoy!!

Following the latest spicy happenings, I just wanted to share again my own perspective on fandom etiquette and tumblr interaction for folks who follow or engage with me on here. I've been clear about my boundaries here, and people who choose not to respect that get what they get. I tend to write with a clear perspective and let my words speak for themselves, and while I love to discuss and even have friendly disagreements, I don’t bother responding to folks who are clearly not engaging in good faith. I block when it rises to the level of blatant rudeness or when someone is developing an unhealthy fixation.

That said, there’s really no need to be dramatic about getting blocked on tumblr. Blocking doesn't mean anything except that you don't want to engage with a person or their content anymore, for any number of reasons that are all perfectly fine and valid, because this is your curated space. It doesn't make us sworn enemies. We're all just internet strangers and no one owes you their time and attention.

If you couldn't tell, I am a fandom old. I've been in and around various fandoms, on tumblr and in lots of other online spaces, for multiple decades. I used to dwell in Western fandom spaces in the era when TV and book series were much, much longer and people had flame wars and knock down, drag out fights over canon interpretations that lasted for literal years. In comparison, today's version of fandom bickering is much milder, and extreme sensitivity about even the gentlest of critical analysis is just silly to me. In terms the youths will understand: some of y’all wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me.

I’m not here to be popular with everyone (that’s not possible nor a healthy goal). I’m here to write about the things I care about and connect with other folks who also enjoy discussing those things in a similar or complementary fashion. If that’s not you, and you want to unfollow or block to protect your peace, that’s completely fine and I’m not holding a grudge.

So let me be clear. Once I've blocked or been blocked by someone, I am not bothered about what they're saying or doing. I'm not squatting on their blog on the web to read their posts. I'm not asking friends to keep tabs on their commentary so I can respond to it. I'm not creating side blogs or burner accounts to slyly continue following them. I'm not going on anon to send them mean asks. All of that is weirdo behavior and deeply disrespectful of a boundary that’s been set. Once I've blocked you, or you've blocked me, I am just not thinking about you at all.

wow your take on jaytimcass! Jason goes for Tim first because he knows he can get Cass to agree to restrain Tim to stop him from going out injured and hurting himself more and Tim is kinda betrayed while Cass internalises this as a Good Idea, Actually; the next time Tim's the one to go to Jason to take Cass down and it escalates. Maybe Tim realises Jason's not-so-accidentally dragging this into murky waters and they all hate-fuck about it. Maybe Tim recruits Cass to tie up Jason in retaliation.

(based on this post) YEAH you get it!!! Tim and Cass fully agree with Jason when they're *not* the one who this force is being used again. to Cass, sometimes love is forceful so yes, she thinks Jason is right that they need to force Tim to stay home when he's injured. she loves Tim bc he's headstrong and that means accepting his flaws and helping him work through them. even if it means forcing him to stay home when he doesn't want to. honestly, i see the whole "their loved one forces them to stay home bc they're hurt" played off in the more fluffy side of the fandom bc it's a cute lil "let me take care of you" scenario. but to me, that sort of scenario *always* means that a character is exerting a level of control over the other character and i want to take it to the unhealthy toxic extreme.

Tim doing it on the flipside to Cass, maybe partly bc he's annoyed Cass sided with Jason but also bc he's as equally worried about her as Jason is. and Cass finding out this was Tim's idea, when she realizes she can't get out of the ropes she's in? god, it's so good. bc none of them can healthily communicate for shit so it makes the relationship turn to really fucked up dynamics. they're all arguing about it and it leading to hatefucking is just. *so* good. bc deep down they know even if they're pissed at each other they can't get away from each other. separating their relationship would lead to a literal bloodbath and they're so deeply tangled they just have to accept there's no out. and Jason being the first to notice that and therefore he pushes the boundaries bc he knows they can't leave him? everything to me. bc Jason was never going to take a *normal* healthy relationship and rlly, they should've known that when the started dating him. sooner or later he was going to tie one of them to the bed to make sure they didn't leave him, both in a physical sense and in a dying sense.

and them tying Jason down to retaliate is SO good. bc yes he'd be pissed, but he'd also know that this means he won. bc they're accepting this as just a part of the dynamic and they're reciprocating his fucked up idea of possessiveness. even if he's tied down both for sexual reasons or to literally make sure he doesn't go anywhere (maybe Cass and Tim need to handle a case without his interference) it's a show of love in that "i love you, but i don't trust you" way and Jason is already thinking about how he'll get creative to hold them down too the next time he needs to bc he's nothing if not a dramatic bitch who likes to up the ante.
