407 Days

407 days ago, I decided to write Harry Potter fan fiction after having not written creatively in over ten years. I took a couple of old scenes I had written that had never gone anywhere, added one scene from the perspective of Lucius Malfoy, and posted my first chapter on New Year's Eve, 2023.

407 days later, here we are. This has been an absolutely incredible journey, and I am so honored by the outpouring of support I have received along the way. I've found community here in a way that I was missing, and I can honestly say that writing restitution in absentia has fed my soul in a way that I didn't realize I had been longing for. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much for sticking with me, Ginny, and Draco on this journey. I couldn't have done it without you all - they've certainly grown throughout this story, and so have I, and I hope maybe you have too. Hearing people connect with Draco's and Ginny's emotional journeys warms my little therapist heart.

But don't worry - I'm not going anywhere. As you can see, I've created a series for this fic. Anise said it best in a comment last chapter - what happens after the happy ending, given how much these characters have gone through and how much they still have to resolve? Sometime in 2025, I will be releasing a sequel to this fic entitled "where the sky meets the sea." It will be much less of an action-based story and more of an exploration of Ginny and Draco's relationship. My working summary is: "In which Draco Malfoy goes to trauma therapy, as told by a trauma therapist. In which Ginny Weasley deals with the aftermath of accidentally temporarily becoming a god - oops. In which Draco and Ginny learn to love each other and lead fulfilling lives in a post-Voldemort world."

I don't know an exact release date yet, as I need to fully map it out and I am planning on working on some shorter projects first, but sometime in 2025 for sure - I recommend subscribing either to this series or to me as an author on AO3 if you don't want to miss an update! My pacing will also almost certainly slow down, as you've seen over the last couple months. I did the math, and I wrote over 50,000 words every single month of 2024 - very awesome, but definitely not how 2025 will look.

random little merch update i guess:

merch items will never take Creative Priority over my silly projects like cookiefish or the analog horror or video essays or Out of Game/Save Game or one off things like the puppet show. or even just Generally Drawing and Animating. but it is my job!! so it takes some form of priority! but that doesn’t mean i can’t have fun with it!

in terms of small merch items, i’m currently working on migrating all of my stuff from etsy to the same BigCartel that the captcha bags are currently on. this involves taking nicer photos of everything and bumping the prices down since etsy just straight up steals the money of sellers and i won’t have to worry about that anymore on bigcartel!

new stuff is also on the way! i have some Genesis Frog quicksand shaker charms being made, some Mettaton CD charms, and i’ll probably make some charms of my Mayor sticker because there needs to be more Mayor merch in the world. once the dave polaroid drawings are all done i’m gonna print those and have those as a fun polaroid set, like the ones on the omori merch site! ive got a general mettaton drop planned as well, including the CD charms but also some normal acrylic charms, some poster prints, and some other stuff! i’ve also got some handmade stuff in the works, small homestuck trinkets for display (that i think are quite funny) and cute little hand sewn dice bags themed after characters and HS aspects!

in terms of Big Merch. of course the pink and purple bags are still being made!! just waiting on those, but they should be all done soon and then i get 500 bags in my house to ship out one by one :p EEK

i have the blue and yellow samples now, and those come right after i’ve shipped out every pink and purple one!

i also have the consort pastel sweater and the horrorterror black sweater! i have the consort one already, and i’m currently getting a sample made for the horrorterror one. i honestly have no clue whennnn i will be able to open preorders for those because i’ll have to slot them in between bag drops (blue and yellow and then. black and red or whatever other mystery color i choose for that one. and then pink and purple again)… but i’ll figure that out!

and then after those. hoo boy. i have another piece of apparel in the works… non homestuck this time!! it’s an undertale thing that ISNT mettaton! i can do other things!! see!! it’ll be both a button up short sleeved shirt and a nice pullover sweater. but i have a bad bad habit of taking on tooooo many projects at once (i am the most stressed and depressed guy of all time right now) so that one comes LATER. Later. we will get to it when we get to it!! after all these other thangs

Getting some stuff out of the way because I want to dedicate this day to touch up my tumblr.

1. For my last linux post, I apologize for getting other users excited for the Clean Installer script on Linux. I thought the script would work for *most* people, but it ended up working for me. I feel bad for advertising it but my own inexperience with Linux bit me in the ass and I am truly sorry for that. Thank you for the lovely people in TeaAddict's server to report back to me.

2. This is where I got Photoshop from. I had quite a few issues that needed registry edits and other shit. You will need to read the error log that shows up and read the issues tab in the github. If it ends up being too difficult, you can always use GIMP.

3. It's been brought to my attention that people cannot reply on my theme, so I will be looking for a new one.

4. My medieval defaults carrd has not been updated in months because I had the account linked to an email I lost. I now got it back and will be switching the account over to my main email. Updates soon.

5. I will have a resource page/post instead of having it built into my already clunky pinned post. Which will also be remade 😅

6. Updating links that direct to posts made by people who have me blocked. Will now redirect to either someone else's reblog, or directly to the download.

7. I'm looking for mods/admins for @the-afterglow-archive you just need tumblr tagging experience and some organizational skills. This is very low priority, but it is nice to have some help !

for those unfamiliar with her, march 7th is one of the nameless of the astral express, a group of intergalactic adventurers who travel across the universe on a train. the astral express crew found her floating through space encased in ice and when she awoke after they freed her, she had no memories. now, she travels the universe in search of her missing past. march cares very deeply for her friends and will never take kindly to anyone who means them harm, but she is otherwise a very curious and excitable person, always happy to meet new people and make new friends.
