HOW I’VE BEEN SUCESSFULLY LOSING WEIGHT: Notes from a former binge eater ♥️
*this guide is to show how ~I~ do things and offer advice on how to do it MY way. I am in no way encouraging anyone to do themselves harm. First off,
HEALTH IS WEALTH.
That being said.. this is literally the longest I’ve ever gone without bingeing. It’s just,,, easy this time. Once you get a feel of what it’s like to be skinny you just don’t crave junk as much anymore bc you KNOW it’s not worth it. The trick is to eat clean 90% of the time and allow your favorite treats 10% do the time. Fit them into your calorie limit!!! Here’s some personal favorites that have helped me lose like 20lbs in the past 2 months.
I tend to do one higher- calorie drink during the day (protein shake, Starbucks, etc) and one healthy filling but low cal meal and a sweet snack at the end of the night.
LOW CALORIE 90%
Mediterranean salad (~150): mixed greens, chopped bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion. Little bit of feta cheese. Balsamic vinegar (not dressing or vinegarette!!!!) I don’t add meat but you could totally add chicken for low cal high protein choice. You could also add olives but I don’t fw them.
Chocolate Protein shakes from the gas station (loll). They’re 220 cal on average and a great treat. Strawberry one is good too.
SEAWEED SNACKS they’re literally 30-60 calories for a pack and kill my urge to eat chips!!! Please give them a try!
Soups. Soups that are already portioned and have the calorie amount posted. I add extra seasonings and spice to boost metabolism.
Coffee!! With almond milk and a little coffee creamer. It’s worth the calories if you want a coffee just make one it’s better than going to Starbucks.
Sushi: I’m vegetarian so I get an avocado and cucumber roll. It’s so good with fresh ginger and a little soy sauce. Sometimes I will be craving it allllllll day and have it as my OMAD so rewarding 🥹
Miso soup>>>>>> add tofu and seaweed and onions!! And mushrooms if you like them.
Monster Ultra energy drinks,,,, yeah I know they’re bad for you but I love them.
Fruits!!! I especially love strawberries, watermelon, cherries, blackberries, pineapple and mangoes.
TREATS 10%
Trail mix: dried cherries, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, cashews. High in calories but perfect for killing hunger. High protein keeps you full and muscles strong, high healthy fats will keep your hair and skin and nails beautiful.
Chocolates: SMALL PORTIONS. if you can’t eat just eat a piece without bingeing, do NOT buy a big bag. what I do is I buy a bar of whatever chocolate I’m craving for my bf and we share it piece by piece. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white, hazelnut, with coffee beans, with toffee, fruits, chocolate is the best thing ever 🍫
Starbucks! My fav drinks are matcha lattes (hot/iced), iced white chocolate mocha, caramel macchiato, and occasionally a pumpkin spice latte. Peppermint mochas on the holidays. Oat milk always
Baked goods. Same deal as the chocolate, ONLY BUY THE PORTION YOURE GOING TO EAT. If you have been craving a croissant, go get one. One. Don’t buy a whole dozen of them. You will end up bingeing trust me. My favs are cinnamon rolls <3
Habits
I’m going to the gym!!! Consistently for the first time in my life. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Spend 30 min on the treadmill alternating between incline walking and easy paced jogging. Put on a YouTube video. Wear pink and bring a cute water bottle. You have to make an experience out of it! I stick to cardio and full body stretches plus ocasional (light) strength workouts w my bf.
I don’t drink anymore. Just 🍃. Alc is so high in sugar and carbs and it’s literally poison bro. I know it’s hard to stop but once you do you’ll feel so much better.
I rarely weigh myself. I’m at my bfs house all the time so I only step on my scale maybe 3 times a month. It’s been a game changer!!!
MINDSET
I practice mindfulness and speak kindly to myself. Basically sweetspo + affirmations to myself all the time.
Taking more pride in your appearance will also help motivate you. You think you’ll still want to binge after you took a full body shower, clean PJ’s or outfit, painted your nails, skincare and makeup done, whitened your teeth and lit a candle? No thanks.
Limit stupid, negative, useless media consumption. Watch things that have to do with your hobbies/ interests and your social media algorithms begin to kinda clean themselves up over time. My pages are all about exercise, study blogs, beauty tips and sciencey stuff. No more drama or celebrity nonsense. Cut down your following!!
Remember you only have one life on earth. You’re young and hot once. Don’t you want to grab this chance while you have it? Unfortunately your beauty is your currency especially as a woman, so if there’s anything I can do to give myself a better life I will. Losing just a few pounds of fat will make the craziest difference in ways you’d never expect. Free and discounted stuff. More people smile at you and listen to what you have to say. Both literal and figurative doors will be opened for you.Clothes fit better bc they’re more flattering when your body is fit and healthy. While it feels good to get validation from other people, the best part of it is looking in the mirror and feeling proud instead of ashamed. The inner confidence that comes from successful transformation………….there’s no other feeling that compares. If you know, you know. I’m just saying,, the choice is yours 🤷🏼‍♀️

Happy Halloween from Private Party
Kai - Cowboy
Tumblr media
"Yeah, I'm a cowboy, but don't ask me for any 'Yeehaws', or ask me to say things like 'pardner', cause I won't. ...Truthfully, I only got the idea for this outfit cause the track I was working on had a Southern theme to it, so I figured... what the hell? Might as well dress the part, right? Plus, my lovely wife is dressed similar, and... well after that question about dressing up as a couple, it only seemed fitting. ...I just hope I can DJ with this hat on. It keeps leaning forward."
"Anyway, take some treats from this ole' cowboy, and have yourselves a good night."
You received a treat!
Wild West Trail Mix. An assortment of dried fruits, nuts and chocolate pieces all mixed together to create a tasty and healthy snack, reminiscent of what cowboys carried on long rides.
Mireya - Southern Belle/Cowgirl
Tumblr media
"Howdy there. Can this cowgirl help ya'll out with something? ...Ha, what do you think? Is my Southern accent convincing? I was born in Texas, ya' know? I know I might speak normal now, but trust me, if you heard me when I was child, you'd never know that that was me. My mother always forced me to speak Hispanic, but did she forget I was of mixed heritage? *Sighs* "Anyway, tonight's supposed to be about fun, so I'm not going to ruin it by bringing up the past. So here, take this and have yourself a good night. ...And don't forget to stop by Gypsy's Palace later on!"
You received a treat!
Cowgirl Crunch Bars. Chocolate bars mixed with a variety of crunchy ingredients like pretzels, nuts and caramel, giving it a rugged and hearty texture from a Southern girl.
Zakari - Kyler Aaron/FBI Agent
Tumblr media
"True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of Justice."
"...Pffh... haha! Oh, god! ...See, Joey? I told you I could pull off your friend, Kyler, pretty well! You owe me $100, buddy! I expect to see it next time we meet! Hahaha~"
*Sighs* "Oh, jeez. ...Sorry, I guess I should explain myself. When Joey heard I was having trouble finding a good costume for Halloween, he bet me $100 that I couldn't pull a good imitation of Kyler. So, with a little hair dye, some contact lenses, one of my dad's suits, and whola! Instant FBI agent! ...Hmm, you know, now that I think about it? Who else could I pull off with a little bit of practice? Something to think about."
"Anyway, here! Some treats from your friendly FBI agent! Stay safe out there, kids!"
You got a treat!
Top Secret Treats. These are small, individually wrapped candies with a mysterious flavor, like mixed fruit or assorted flavors to keep people guessing.

The Rare Bookseller Part 5: Oliver's Shower
Masterlist
September 1925
TW: Restraints, slavery, non-sexual nudity, mind control
Apparently satisfied with the results of their medical exam, Cecily unhooked Oliver's leash from the pole. "All right, let's get you cleaned up," she said.
Oliver's breath hitched, not keen to be hosed down by vampires. "My hygiene is impeccable."
"It actually is, compared to many humans I've processed," she agreed. "But it's standard procedure."
Thomas unlocked the door, and Oliver had a brief impulse to try and bolt for it, but with Cecily holding his leash there wasn't any point. He had already vowed to himself to save his strength, but it was hard to squash down the increasingly frantic voice in his mind that wanted freedom, wanted to return to his life as though this had all been a nightmare.
Cecily led him down the sterile hallway to another door, which opened to a tiled shower room. It was neatly kept, with squeaky clean tiles, fat bars of peppermint pink soap, and towels piled up on a shelf. She attached Oliver's handcuffs to a kind of locking contraption on the wall, and removed his leash, giving him some respite from the uncomfortable collar.
Oliver closed his eyes as she turned on the spray. It was freezing cold, causing him to yelp, but turned pleasantly warm in a few moments. He took a deep breath, trying to derive some small enjoyment from the warm shower. Who could say when he'd have another?
Taking one of the bars of soap and a cloth in hand, Cecily began to scrub him from head to toe, all business, a bit rough but nothing that uncomfortable. She rubbed soap into his hair and rinsed it out again. Oliver said nothing, trying to block this humiliation from his mind as much as possible, trying not to think about how he was being washed like a piece of fruit for a vampire's snack.
One final rinse, and the shower was turned off, and he was being dried off with a big, fluffy towel. He stood there, shivering, for a few minutes, wondering what was going to happen next. The sudden, terrifying thought occurred to him that they might simply leave him naked for captivity and auction. That was when Cecily returned with a tape measure.
"Stand up straight and be still," she said, taking his height. "It's so we can get you properly fitting clothing, so it's in your best interest to cooperate."
"I already had properly fitting clothing. You burned it," he said, nevertheless acquiescing to her command, relieved to be getting clothes.
She measured him tip to toe, from waist to foot, the length of his arms, and around his chest and waist. Then she walked away and hit a button on the wall.
"This is Cecily in Shower Room One with Lot Seven. Need medium size uniform and one for backup."
"Uniform. Like a prison," he said.
"Obviously. You are a captive here," she said. "But we do want you to be in good condition for the auction, so you won't be treated poorly."
"Kidnapping me, handcuffing me and stripping me down is a strange definition of not treating me poorly."
"It could be much worse."
"Is that what you tell yourself to sleep at night? If you were actually once a hunter, then you know..."
"I don't expect you to understand," she interrupted. "I didn't, either, until I was turned. The hunger for blood. The power we hold over humans. It's either feed or die."
Oliver, naked and handcuffed, mustered up as much defiance as he could. "Then I would choose to die."
She laughed. "Many say that. Few actually mean it. I doubt you'd be any different," she said. "This auction is actually frequented by the more ethical vampires. Better to purchase a processed human fairly than violently ambush humans in the streets. Good humans are expensive, so it's in a vampire's best interest to keep their thralls in decent shape. There are exceptions, of course, vampires who buy humans to abuse them, but they're the minority."
"That's what you call ethical? Buying a human slave? Doing the bare minimum to keep them alive?"
"That's right."
"Then you're right. I don't understand. And I'm glad everyone here is going to hell. I only wish it were sooner."
"The auction house has been here since before you were born and it'll be here long after you die, so I wouldn't hold your breath on that," she said.
He didn't really doubt that she was right. "So how about you? Do you have a human slave, then?"
"I have two thralls."
"What do you imagine the difference between a thrall and a slave is?"
"A thrall has been properly processed and conditioned to serve a vampire."
"And that makes it better?"
"It's better for us."
"And what does this conditioning entail?"
"You'll see soon enough."
Oliver groaned in frustration. There wasn't a shred of empathy left in her, former vampire hunter or no. It was disturbing how much she could talk and act like an ordinary human while casually discussing processing and conditioning him to serve a vampire. It was all so simple and easy to them, and the reality that he was next was sinking in deeper. There might be no miraculous rescue or opportunistic escape. They might simply process, condition, and sell him, his life turned into a commodity.
"So your thralls, do you imagine you treat them well?"
"Of course. They're my precious pets. They get plenty of food and sunlight and entertainment. They do housework, provide me with blood, and accompany me on trips. I dress them in fine clothes and they have their own beds."
"How lovely," Oliver spat. "A cross between a servant and a dog."
Before Cecily could respond, a burly man opened the door and shut it behind him. His eyes were glassy and unfocused, and he was carrying a pile of clothes. He bowed. "The uniform you requested, Mistress Cecily," he said.
Oliver's eyes went wide. "Are you a human? A thrall?"
The man didn't acknowledge Oliver's question at all. "Yes, he's a thrall of the auction house," Cecily explained. "Now I'm going to remove your cuffs so that we can dress you. This thrall is instructed to stop you if you get out of line."
"You'd stop a fellow human from escaping?" Oliver asked the man, who didn't even glance his way.
"Well, thrall, would you stop a fellow human from escaping?" Cecily repeated.
"Of course, Mistress Cecily. Preventing the merchandise from leaving is one of my primary duties. Any human would be blessed to be made into a high quality thrall by the auction house."
Oliver felt sick. This man had no free will at all, any mind he had left devoted to sending other humans to meet a terrible fate. Would this be him in a scant few days? A polite and mindless servant to the auction house? He couldn't let that happen -- but then, he had no doubt that this man had resisted as well, and here he was.
"Now then, please do behave," said Cecily, unlocking his cuffs. "Remember that I only gave you one chance."
Oliver fought down the urge to run, spurred on by his terror at seeing an actual human thrall. Any chance of escape was blocked by a vampire, a mindlessly subservient man twice his size, a locked door, and whatever other security the auction house had. And Cecily had threatened to drug him if he tried. He had to keep his mind as long as he could.
Cecily handed him soft cotton shorts and undershirt, a loose white blouse and blue slacks, and a pair of surprisingly comfortable thick woolen socks. No belt or shoes. He put it all on without a fuss, happy at least to be clothed again.
"Very good!" she said, clapping her hands. "If you continue to behave this well, I won't need to leash or cuff you."
"I'll behave," he said immediately. Better to stay unrestrained for now then pick a pointless fight.
"Then let's get you to a cell," she said. "Dinner will be served soon, and I'm sure you're tired after all of this."
Oliver let out a bitter laugh. "Sure." He was exhausted, but could hardly imagine sleeping in a place like this, and he had no appetite at all. It must be past midnight by now -- but that made sense as the time when vampires would serve dinner.
"Follow me," she said, and he fell into step behind her as she left the room, the man trailing behind him. They walked to the end of the hall, turned left, and arrived at a set of metal double doors, which opened onto a wide hallway lined with what could only be described as prison cells.
His new home for now, he supposed.

National Nut Day
Walnut, Hazelnut, Chestnut, Kola Nuts, Pine Nuts, Cashews, and more. There are more types of nuts in the world than most people realize, and many more of these are used for food than people suspect. Most people have a favorite kind of nut, most commonly involved in a favored kind of treat, but there are varieties and uses for nuts that are not commonly known.
Did you know that the flavor in your cola originally came from the Kola Nut? Or that Beech Nuts are commonly used as feed for animals? From ages past these high-fat, high-protein tree seeds have served as a major source of winter survival. Their natural ability to be stored and resist decay throughout the winter has made them a valuable resource for animals and humans alike.
What’s even more fascinating is that nuts have been revealed to have notable health benefits for those with a history of Coronary Heart Disease by lowering LDL cholesterol concentrations.
Learn about National Nut Day
National Nut Day has been created in order to encourage the public to consume healthier snack options. What is your go-to snack? A packet of crisps? A chocolate bar? We know that we are guilty of going for the unhealthy option more regularly than we should! So, why not use National Nut Day as the perfect opportunity to switch up your workplace snack? Some nuts, or a combination of nuts and dried fruit, is a healthy snack that will bring a lot of benefits.
The great thing about nuts is that there are so many different types and varieties to choose from. They come in many different sizes and shapes. You have everything from wrinkly walnuts to teardrop-shaped almonds, and so you are bound to find something that appeals to your taste buds.
We also love National Nut Day because nuts are not only delicious, but they are nutritious as well. Different nuts have different benefits. For example, almonds are rich in vitamin E, calcium, and protein. Another beneficial type of nuts is pistachios. They are high in fiber and they can help to reduce a rise in blood sugar after you have had a meal. Walnuts are also very popular, and they are a great source of omega-3 fatty acid. They can improve factors relating to heart health. Or, what about cashews? Cashews can improve blood pressure and they have a good nutrient profile too.
It is definitely a good idea to do a bit of research on your favorite nuts on Nuts Day too. You will be surprised by the different benefits that are associated with the variety of nuts out there. For a piece of food that is so small, it certainly packs a powerful punch when it comes to the different nutrients and benefits that it can bring.
History of National Nut Day
The Liberation Foods Company organized National Nut Day to celebrate the long and storied history of the nut, as well as to dispel some pernicious myths, such as the persistent idea that peanuts are a nut for instance. Nuts have been part of our diets for time out of mind, a trait we likely learned by following our fuzzy four footed brethren to their winter stores.
Since the inception of National Nut Day, great festivals have sprung up around the world to celebrate the versatility and great taste of the nut. There’s nothing like the rich smell of roast nuts to remind you that fall is here, and there is nothing to soothe a sweet tooth like a roast candied nut. Orange Glazed, Cinnamon, Sweet Chipotle are just a few of the common and more unusual flavors available in the world of the nut.
How to celebrate National Nut Day
The best way to celebrate National Nut Day is by treating yourself to your favorite nut related treat. Whether that’s a nut rich doughnut or a bag of your favorite roasted nuts, National Nut Day is an opportunity to indulge in the rich, nutty taste of.. well.. nuts!
There are often events held by vendors of nuts and their enthusiasts, where they share activities, introduce new types of nuts, and even share the best nut recipes. So get out there and improve your health and your winter with these shell-covered treasures.
There are plenty of other activities that you can do on National Nut Day. This includes making your favorite nut butter. A lot of people love nut butter, but why go to the store and purchase the premade version when you can probably make a much nicer version yourself? All you need to do is grab your favorite nut and throw them into a food processor. Most people will add some sweetener, and then all you need to do is blitz the combination. It really is as easy as that. Some people love their creation so much that they simply eat it out of the food processor. We won’t tell if you don’t!
Another way to celebrate National Nut Day is by adding them to your meal. Nuts are incredibly versatile, meaning they can be added to everything from breakfast to dinner. They go just as good in oatmeal as they do a stir-fry or salad. You can also brighten up someone else’s day on National Nut Day by bringing them a nut-based treat. A snack-sized packet of nut goodies is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face. It’s always nice when someone thinks about you, right?

this is a really random and silly thought but what are some of the fruits karasu azra and zee like, i was eating fruits earlier and just thought about them
-🪶
Not random at all! Part of the fun is imagining OCs in their little domestic moments and that includes the types of foods they like to eat and what/if they cook for you.
Karasu prefers citrusy or tart fruits since he doesn't really have a sweet tooth at all. (He shares a fruit salad dessert with MC on their first date.) He doesn't buy fruit on a regular basis though.
Azra orders desserts off the club's lounge menu sometimes, usually chocolate-dipped berries or candied fruit slices drizzled with honey or dusted with sugar. Finger foods, basically. He also swipes cherries or orange wedges if he's passing by the bar, even though he could easily order them from the kitchen. (His bartenders know his habits by now so they usually keep a little bowl ready for him in case he pops by, so he doesn't get in their way lol). He's not picky about the type of fruit as long as it's peeled/sliced and ready to eat.
Zee likes most fruits. He makes a lot of simple meals for himself like oatmeal for breakfast or parfaits if he wants dessert - he'll add berries to those. He makes his own trail mix with dried or candied fruit pieces that he can snack on when he's working or reading at home. He likes poison apple pie, but he's not skilled as a baker so that's something he orders if he goes out to eat. Unlike Azra, he doesn't usually eat at the club.

A Collection of Headcanons - Food & Eating Edition!
Can They Cook?
Yes, for the most part.
Due to his time outside of Mondstadt, Diluc can make quick, efficient meals with what could be found as well as branch off into more technical meals and food.
Childe always prepped food and helped out in the kitchen while he still lived with his family, so he can cook for himself and others with a higher success rate.
The only things Beidou knows how to make are fried fish fillet and grilled fish on a skewer, but she's been doing it for so long that they come out perfect each time.
Zhongli can cook and he can do it rather well, but with his in-depth knowledge of Liyuen cuisine and his habits, the cooking time for the meals takes days to conclude if he did it his way.
Besides his signature meal, which is his granny's recipe modified by him a bit, Itto cannot cook to save his life as any cooking done by him is guaranteed to put him in some sort of trouble.
Can They Bake?
Barely, perhaps in theory.
Diluc can make some tea and cookies in theory, but it would take more time than he's willing to spend in the kitchen. He would probably ask Adelinde to help him with it if he tried.
Childe's mother did most of the baking and he's passable at the basic dough, but anything more elaborate than that and he's a lost cause. He's too impatient to do something for that long.
Even if The Alcor could have an oven on it, the ship is made of wood and that is highly flammable. Beidou doesn't even like pastries and sweets that much anyway, so she wouldn't even try.
Zhongli is the only one here that would bake as a hobby, but as stated before, he would take days as he would be extremely particular about which ingredients he uses.
The last time Itto tried making cookies for his grandma, he gave himself intense food poisoning. This is why Shinobu has a certification in baking specifically.
More under the cut!
Diluc -
Background
As someone who's enterprising and self-starting as well as a member of a family who has been in the wine-making business for centuries, he's going to know a thing or two about growing food.
I personally think that grapes are not the only thing that grows in the Dawn Winery, as he would have orchards for types of apples and cherries, berry bushes for valberries and wolfhooks, and maybe some citrus trees if he can manage it.
He would also have some beehives for the help of pollinating all of his crops and to also get some honey (he and some of the staff planted some flowers to help along with this as well).
He wouldn't really be planting crops like corn, wheat, and barley all that much as he mostly dabbles in wines, but there's no one saying that he wouldn't do it down the line.
Diluc has been trying to breed and develop certain types of grapes for more non-alcoholic drinks and juices, and this has had mixed results so far.
I also feel as if at some point, he will begin to dabble in some vegetable gardening for more of his own personal enjoyment as he ages in years.
Habits
Diluc may know a great deal about growing food, but this is nothing compared to him eating food.
One thing that is certain about his meals is that no matter what they are, they will be quite large as he will burn through that and more before the day is done.
When he's not working as hard as he usually does, he'll have more filling things such as mashed potatoes and gravy, a nice stack of pancakes, a stuffed omelet, or a large helping of bacon. Perhaps at the same time.
While he is on the clock, however, he'll opt for something quick and nutritious that can be eaten on the go, such as some toast with jam and butter, a granola bar, or some fruit.
He will occasionally indulge in a bit of snacking, which will be a piece of jerky, trail mix, or dried fruit as he's often out and about when he starts getting hungry after a meal.
Likes & Dislikes
Despite him being raised in proper aristocratic fashion and having the privilege to be a picky eater, I will say that he is the type to eat his greens responsibly as any adult does, but if he was given a choice, he would opt for an option with meat in it.
Some of his more favored dishes feature red meat and pork exclusively and are almost always slathered in butter or cheese.
He also has a bit of a sweet tooth, as his favorite drink is grape juice and he's been shown to like more subtle sweets.
So naturally, he's not going to like anything strong and bitter, like wine.
In terms of dislikes, he's not that into fish and would opt out of having it if there were other options to be had as he is not a big fan of the flavor or the texture.
Diluc absolutely will not eat anything that is overly spicy. He wants to eat a meal, not set his mouth on fire.
Childe -
Background
Of course, he knows how to fish, but specializes in ice fishing and the creatures that come out of it, so he can cut, prep, and cook just about anything that comes out of the water.
I would imagine that Childe also has a bit of a green thumb, as I would expect his family to have a small garden for the warmer spring and summer months.
On that note, sometimes some people in the village would forage for berries and wild plants during this time to add a little bit of variety to their diets.
I don't think he had a high-quality meal typical for 'well-off' folk until he was promoted into the Fatui Harbingers, as military food is hardly a step up from home-cooked meals.
Sugar or anything involved with it was rare enough for Childe to only expect sweets on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.
His family would likely have chickens that have adapted to the conditions, as they are easier to maintain and look after than bigger animals, so he had eggs and chicken occasionally.
Habits
In the remote village in the middle of Snezhnaya's version of Siberia, food would occasionally be hard to come by, so you ate what you were given.
Childe has retained this mentality, the intensity of it really coming to light in the midst of the Abyss, where the 'food' was more than questionable by normal human standards.
So he'll eat anything that's edible, including leather if it comes down to that, but he draws the line at outright cannibalism (or so I hope).
Normally, he has a small breakfast to get him going, a decent lunch if his schedule allows for it, and a dinner in which the size fluctuates depending on if he's still out or free from work.
He makes sure to eat as it is fuel for his body, but he also seems like the type to rip and tear until it's done, so once the adrenaline wears off, he undergoes the endeavor of heavy snacking.
Not much of a drinker, despite the culture he comes out of. Most of the fire-water he's had has been moon shined from his neighbors or the real intense stuff the Harbingers have.
Likes & Dislikes
Childe doesn't have anything that he won't eat, but this doesn't mean that he won't choose something else when there are choices.
Childe loves his soups and stews, that's for sure. To him, all of them are good, but it's better if seafood is used as the base and is in some of the food as chunks.
He almost always chooses seafood when he's out and about, whether it's grilled, steamed, boiled, fried, or whatever, but if there's none to be had, he'll fall back on meat most of the time.
While he won't be picky about it, he doesn't like eating greens and fruit that much, but if they're flavorful and robust, he'll be more inclined to eat them.
Childe likes to say that he doesn't have a sweet tooth, but despite his honesty in certain areas, he is absolutely lying about this. He just practices an uncharacteristic self-control over it.
Beidou -
Background
Like Childe, there's nothing that Beidou will not eat, but it wasn't because of wintertime or similar circumstances as much as there was simply nothing much to be had. No food is bad food if it's edible.
If she couldn't forage for it, it was likely snatched away from some vendor or passerby that wasn't paying attention, and that's when she wasn't caught.
The moment Beidou had that first bit of cooked fish from some villagers, however, it was an instant connection that would stick for the rest of her life.
If you ask Beidou to cut up a fish, she'll ask you which way as she holds an almost encyclopedic knowledge of fish cuts and preparation.
Due to various circumstances, Beidou taught herself to cook relatively simple meals that could be made on an open fire or with only a few ingredients.
On rare occasions, she would get paid for odd jobs with a decent meal or some food, and this would be rationed for a day or two if it was possible.
Habits
Back in those days, fruits were plucked from trees, things were snatched from stalls, food was salvaged from places, and fish were caught when she got the chance. You ate what you managed to get.
When she eventually got employed by a crew full-time, their rations and meals were what she lived on and ate, so I can't imagine that snacking is something she does.
After eventually coming into her own and gaining a substantial amount of money, she would have plenty of options in terms of what she could eat, but she mostly keeps it simple.
There are a lot of greens and vegetables that she purposely incorporates into her meals for the sake of health and variety to ensure she can operate at full capacity.
You cannot tell me that Beidou did not try everything under the sun upon making landfall in Mondstadt, Inazuma, Sumeru, etc. for the first time.
She had her first drink after her first encounter with Haishan and hasn't stopped since, though it's currently nowhere near to how much she used to drink regularly.
Likes & Dislikes
Like it was said with Childe before, Beidou is not picky with her food. She will eat what is available for her to eat and that's it.
As someone who also willingly subjects herself to Xiangling's new dishes and attempts, she'll eat just about anything that's considered edible.
This does not mean that she does not have preferences; if she's on land and she doesn't have to eat ship rations, she won't, as she'll prefer just about anything else.
She likes foods served warm, which could be grilled, stir-fried, boiled, or anything to do with the heat in the cooking process.
Beidou is nowhere near Yelan's level of eating raw Jueyan chili peppers, but trust that there is a robust amount of spice in her meals.
She's not necessarily a fan of sweets all that much and doesn't like things that are too plain and bland. She also doesn't like things that are cold by design or otherwise unless it's alcohol paired with the meal.
Zhongli -
Background
Before we start off, we must acknowledge that this man has had the time to gather the knowledge and wisdom to cultivate a truly immaculate palette for food.
This, however, does not mean that he always had it and as such, I believe wholeheartedly that before, he ate of the fruit of the trees, the roots of the ground, and the meat of the creatures. Which creatures these were would remain a mystery lost to time.
Marchosius introduced him, the other adepti, and the people of Liyue to the concept of cooking food and as such, he developed a fondness for good food.
Slowly, he learned from Marchosius and the other adepti who had mastered it before him, and so he became quite good at preparing food.
Nowadays in his life as a mortal, he mostly eats out and samples what there is to taste, but he is more than willing to prepare a meal for others and himself.
Habits
Despite him forgetting his wallet, he manages to eat three decently-sized meals a day.
These meals are optimized for nutrition, flavor, and presentation as well as the contents thereof.
If he's not eating food from outside, the prep time of his meals takes no less than three hours at a time.
A good chunk of his paychecks (or the funeral's finances) go towards the food that he buys for himself, as he sources his food from no less than the high-end of what is available.
If he's out and about, he'll buy a snack from one of the vendors in the streets. This could be a chicken skewer, some sweet thing, or a small bowl of fresh fruit.
Food is a very communal experience for him, so it is highly likely that he will strike up a discussion and talk while eating the meal.
Likes & Dislikes
Zhongli is extremely particular about what he eats. He's lived a multitude of lives and knows damn well what he likes.
Anything that comes out of the ocean is getting written off unless it doesn't look like it, and even then it's highly unlikely that he'll put it anywhere near his mouth.
Every meal must be accompanied by tea, juice, or alcohol. If there's water, it must be flavored with something.
Unlike any senior citizen one may associate with him, Zhongli will not stand for anything plain or bland in his food. In his eyes, it defeats the purpose.
He will eat every non-seafood dish from Wanmin Restaurant, but in the case that it's not Wanmin he's eating at, he likes things with a broth or soup base, sandwich-like foods, and hor dourves.
Zhongli isn't opposed to spice, but he doesn't want it to overwhelm the rest of the meal.
Arataki Itto -
Background
If one is to blatantly ignore the in-game model and solely focus on lore, one can come to the conclusion that Arataki Itto is huge, but he was not always that big.
In fact, it can be said that after the fact of his parent's deaths, he was tossed out onto the streets and had his fair share of malnutrition on top of everything else he endured.
As such, he would forage around for food and eat it, regardless of if he could or not, which meant that at a young age, he suffered from allergic reactions to soybeans.
He would also play games and hope to win snacks back in that day as well, but as one would imagine, there were much higher stakes at play than the light-heartedness of the matter today.
Now in the current day, he does get a good fraction of food from this method and the ready accessibility of food in general lends credence to his size.
Habits
The types of food he eats are more things that can be carried in his hands and finger foods as he's on the go and running around.
If he is mostly left to his own devices, there is a higher chance that he will skip meals in favor of whatever he's doing at the time.
As such, he's doing a lot more snacking than actually having a proper meal, much to the consternation of his deputy and the concern of his granny.
One particular thing about Itto is that he more or less acts as if meals are meant to be shared amongst friends more than anything else.
Whether it's lavender melons roasted over a fire, sitting at a ramen cart, standing at a booth in a festival, or just simply being amongst friends with food involved, Itto is definitely happier with people around.
He's naturally inclined to play with his food in a sense, such as competing to see who can eat it the fastest, how much of it he can eat, and things of that nature.
He's also one to share his snacks on the occasion that his typically competitive mood leaves him or he notices that someone is without anything to eat.
Likes & Dislikes
If I haven't brought it up enough, then let me state it clearly: He does not like and cannot eat soybeans.
Even dismissing the blatant trauma associated with the bean in its unrefined form, he will be at risk for a fatality if they're around.
After he was taken in, this was figured out relatively quickly and as such, adjustments to Inazuman staples were made.
As a result, he will eat pretty much anything and occasionally forgets that no, his granny did not make this food and he should check before eating it because there might be soy in it.
Outside of that, he'll eat pretty much anything, but he leans mostly toward sugary sweets, drinks, and big heavy meals.
Ramen is a favorite dish of his and after he was introduced to Almond Tofu, he hasn't had enough of it, but he'll always have a lollipop on him if it isn't already in his mouth.
Bonus! - Headcanons
In the fishing competitions they have, Beidou consistently comes out on top, leaving Childe and Itto to fight over second place. The winner gets to prep the fishy dish how they like.
While Diluc's affinity for mixology and making drinks isn't even brought into question, he prefers cooking to baking.
Itto is not a fan of slime condensate but loves jello and as such, no one will tell him what's in the jello.
If there's one thing Childe won't willingly eat, it's dark chocolate.
Zhongli has compiled a small cookbook with some of the adepti for his own personal use and circulation amongst friends.
Despite being readily willing to try Xiangling's newest culinary creations, Beidou is no stranger to the bouts of her bowels staunchly rejecting the crazier ones.
Diluc has gone hunting for his own food more than once.
The only thing they can agree on in terms of food is that no one in their right mind would eat nothing but bread or rice as a meal.

Status Update: The longest Flight of my Life
I’m so glad to say it’s over. 14 hours of flying finally done. And despite having bought a neck pillow, I still wasn’t able to sleep in my seat the intended way, let alone without interruptions. At most, it can be described as a student napping in class, because that’s how it probably looked from the outside, too.
Not much more can be said about the flight honestly, except the food review and the fact that the air conditioning dried me up so bad, both my hands hurt when I put creme on them. And yes, I have been drinking throughout the whole flight.
I am writing this while waiting at my gate, surrounded only by Germans because obviously. This is a flight to Düsseldorf after all. One last notable thing, my lanyard once again has proven itself a good choice to bring with me. On my way to TSA through the queue line, a security guard saw me and let me skip the line to get to the machines quicker. I’m not gonna say my disability is giving me an advantage, but it sure is great to get off a plane after 14 hours and be treated this way.
***
Food Review:
Dinner
Green beans: 2/5, could have been way worse, but were still far from my favourite beans I’ve had so far
Roasted potatoes: 3/5, a bit better than the beans but still had a weird texture to the skin
Lamb Ragout: 5/5, it may have been the lack of sleep and the hunger kicking in at the same time, but this was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed
Bread Bun: 4/5, totally edible without any butter etc, intentionally this time, is it was something brioche-esque
Mystery Salad: 5/5, I am yet to figure out what this dish was, because it looked as if it was a salad, based on the fact it contained lettuce and peas, but the yellow tear shaped things had the texture and a similar taste to that of noodles. And seriously, what kind of noodles would that be?
Chocolate: 3/5, not special, not absolutely horrendous. Just an average piece of chocolate
Chocolate Cake: 1/5, absolutely horrible texture, no idea what it was supposed to be, but I’m not a fan
Tumblr media
Midflight Snack
Chicken Calzone: 4/5, pretty okay, just not a real banger in my books
Tumblr media
Breakfast
Fruit: 4/5, it’s fruit, nothing spectacular. There was just one piece that really confused me with its flavour, thus I didn’t finish it
Muesli Bar: 3/5, very tough to chew (it was more ripped apart than chewed tbh), but decent taste
Frittata: 2/5, the potatoes pretty good, main course was edible but not my top cuz of the corn, mushrooms are far from my favourite food or ingredient, yet I still think I liked them more than the frittata
Yoghurt: 4/5, a bit more fruit for flavour would’ve been nice. But overall a very welcome dessert surprise (and an interesting way to find out I like blueberries.)
Croissant with margarine spread: 5/5, can’t be improved upon. I was honestly surprised how the (comparatively) sweet croissant tasted so great along with the slightly salted spread. And that’s coming from a person who absolutely distastes sweet-n-salty foods.

How to Incorporate Puffed Brown Rice Into Your Daily Diet
Tumblr media
Puffed brown rice is a versatile and nutritious food that can easily be integrated into your daily meals. Known for its light, crispy texture and natural, nutty flavor, it is a great addition to a balanced diet. As a whole grain, puffed brown rice retains the bran, germ, and endosperm, which provide fiber, essential vitamins, and minerals. In this blog, we will explore how you can incorporate puffed brown rice into various meals and snacks to boost your nutrient intake.
1. Start Your Day with Puffed Brown Rice Cereal
One of the simplest ways to enjoy puffed brown rice is by turning it into a breakfast cereal. Instead of reaching for sugary cereals, try puffed brown rice with your favorite milk—whether dairy, almond, or oat milk. Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and top with fresh fruit such as bananas, strawberries, or blueberries. The combination of fiber from the rice and the vitamins and antioxidants from the fruit makes for a wholesome start to the day.
Tip: You can also mix in nuts, seeds, or chia seeds for an extra boost of protein and healthy fats.
2. Use It in Granola or Energy Bars
Puffed brown rice can be a fantastic addition to homemade granola or energy bars. To make a simple granola, combine puffed brown rice with oats, nuts, dried fruit, and a sweetener like honey or maple syrup. Toast the mixture in the oven until golden brown and crispy. You can also shape it into energy bars by pressing the mixture into a baking pan and letting it set.
These granola and energy bars are perfect for on-the-go snacks, offering a good balance of complex carbohydrates and fiber. Plus, you can customize the ingredients based on your preferences, making them a versatile option.
3. Incorporate It into Salads for Extra Crunch
Puffed brown rice is a great way to add crunch and texture to salads. Instead of using croutons or fried toppings, try sprinkling puffed brown rice over your favorite salad. The light, crispy texture complements leafy greens, vegetables, and proteins like grilled chicken, tofu, or beans. Not only does it add a satisfying crunch, but it also boosts the fiber content of your meal.
Tip: Combine puffed brown rice with a citrus dressing, or mix it into a grain-based salad like quinoa or couscous for added variety.
4. Add It to Smoothies and Yogurt Bowls
For a fun twist, toss some puffed brown rice into your smoothie or yogurt bowl. Its crunchy texture pairs well with creamy yogurt or blended fruits, adding a new dimension to your regular breakfast or snack. Simply layer puffed brown rice with yogurt, fresh fruits, nuts, and a sprinkle of granola for a nutrient-packed parfait.
You can also blend puffed brown rice into your smoothies. While it may not fully dissolve, the rice will add a little crunch and additional fiber, making your smoothie more filling and satisfying.
5. Make Puffed Rice Snack Bars
If you're craving a sweet treat, puffed brown rice can be used to make homemade snack bars. Combine puffed rice with ingredients like peanut butter, dark chocolate, and dried fruit. These bars can be chilled in the fridge for a few hours and then cut into bite-sized pieces for a delicious, healthy snack. Not only are they great for curbing your sweet tooth, but they also offer a filling, fiber-rich alternative to store-bought sugary snacks.
Tip: You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter if you need a nut-free option.
6. Incorporate Puffed Brown Rice into Stir-Fries or Soups
Puffed brown rice can be used as a low-calorie, crunchy topping for stir-fries or soups. After preparing your favorite stir-fried vegetables, tofu, or meat, sprinkle a handful of puffed brown rice over the top for a delightful contrast in texture. It’s also great sprinkled on soups like tomato, miso, or vegetable broth-based soups to add some crunch and fiber.
This simple addition can make an ordinary dish feel more exciting and satisfying without adding excessive calories or refined grains.
7. Use It as a Binder in Meat or Plant-Based Patties
Puffed brown rice can act as a binder in recipes for homemade veggie or meat patties. Mix it into your veggie burger mixture or use it in combination with other grains and legumes to help hold everything together. Puffed rice adds texture while keeping the patties light and fluffy. It’s an excellent option for those seeking to reduce the amount of bread or breadcrumbs in their recipes.
8. Create a Light Snack Mix
Puffed brown rice can easily be turned into a snack mix by combining it with other healthy ingredients like nuts, dried fruits, seeds, and a sprinkle of spices. Toss everything together in a bowl for a simple snack that’s perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. The puffed rice adds volume and texture to the mix, making it a satisfying and crunchy option without the empty calories found in processed snacks.
9. Bake It Into Muffins or Quick Breads
If you enjoy baking, try adding puffed brown rice to your muffin or quick bread recipes. Whether you’re making banana bread, zucchini muffins, or oat-based cookies, puffed brown rice can lend a light, airy texture while adding fiber. It’s an easy way to boost the nutritional value of baked goods without altering the flavor too much.
Tip: Replace part of the flour in the recipe with puffed brown rice to lower the glycemic index and make your baked goods more filling.
Conclusion
Puffed brown rice is a versatile and nutritious food that can be seamlessly incorporated into a variety of meals and snacks. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, there are plenty of ways to enjoy this whole grain in your daily diet. Whether you use it as a crunchy topping, a binder in patties, or in homemade snack bars, puffed brown rice is a simple yet powerful way to increase your fiber intake and add texture to your meals. So go ahead, get creative, and enjoy the benefits of this healthy, puffed whole grain in your everyday routine.
