🖊️Signups for the KRBK 20K Big Bang open in 3 short weeks!🖊️

Be sure to check out our Notion page with all the event information on it. Signups start March 15th for all participants and they go until April 5th for writers and Aug. 30th for Artists and Betas!

KRBK 20k Big Bang🖊️🖊️

The KRBK 20K Big Bang is a traditional big bang in which writers must create a new, unpublished fic with a minimum word count of 20,000 words.

This bang is designed to encourage long-form works of fiction like the original big bangs. Authors will be paired with artists and betas, and teams will post their completed works in November. All participants must be 18 years of age or older to sign up. All KRBKKR content is allowed and the bang practices a pro-ship/pro-fiction policy.

Writer signups will run from March 15th - April 5th.

Artist and Beta signups will be open from March 15th - Aug. 30th.

Are you ready for another hot Tolkien summer? The Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang 2025 is almost here, and we couldn't be more excited to announce that this event is going to be epic! 

What is the Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang, you ask? It's a celebration of all things Tolkien, where artists and writers come together to craft something magical! In this event, artists create stunning artwork from all mediums (yes, unconventional mediums such as needlepoint, food, and even interpretive dance are welcome!), and writers bring the art to life through print! Writers will have the chance to inspire and be inspired by new art, opening the doors to fresh, creative collaborations and endless possibilities.

Whether you're an artist, writer, or simply an enthusiastic cheerleader, this is your chance to join the ultimate summer celebration of J.R.R. Tolkien’s world through fan art and fan fiction. 

Here’s what you need to know:

Do you love women? Do you love comics? Would you like to create some works for both of these things? Then you'll love the Women in Comics Mini Bang! This spring, we will be doing a reverse mini bang.

What is a bang?

A fandom bang (also known as a big bang, or in our case, a minibang) is an event where artists and writers are paired up to produce collabs! In a reverse bang, artists begin working on a piece and create a "pitch". Writers will then sign up for their top 3 picks. The mods will match everyone up. (If the numbers don’t align in signups, we will work out the details following signups.)

Schedule

We have a tentative schedule here. Signups will open February 1st-February 15th for artists and February 15th-March 1st for writers.

Roles

Participants may sign up as a writer, artist, or both. Typically, a bang is roughly even in art to fic. Some bangs will allow nontraditional art as well. If you’re interested in that, please let us know, and we’ll make appropriate adjustments.

Acceptable Content

The only major requirement for this bang is that your work centers on at least one woman from one of the big two comic companies (DC and Marvel). The reason for this is that these are the most likely to find a match-up. Specific information about the rules is here.

Signups for the fourth Supernatural Femslash Bang are now open!

You can register as a writer, artist or beta HERE.

Writer signups will be open until February 28. Writers are required to write one fic of at least 10,000 words.

Artist signups will be open until June 6. Artists are required to created at least one piece of art for any fics they claim. Claims will be held on June 14.

2025 Event Announcement

All of this has happened before...and all of this will happen again

We've had a lot of fun here the last two years, and so we are back for round three of the Galactica Big Bang and Mini Bang event!

The event is a chance for writers and artists to get together and produce fanworks set in the BSG universe, with two tiers–hence Big Bang and Mini Bang.

The minimum wordcount for Big Bang is 10k, and the minimum for Mini Bang is 2.5k.

For art, we accept a wide variety of media! Digital or traditional fanart; fanvids; filks; podfic; fanmixes; crafts (fiberarts, ceramics, etc.)–if you have any questions about a particular medium, just ask! Specific requirements for artists vary based on medium, but are included in the Rules post as a general idea/guideline.
