Seven Types of Parenting Styles
1. Authoritative Parenting
Authoritative parents are both responsive and demanding. They provide clear rules and guidelines but also show warmth, understanding, and support. They encourage open communication and allow children to voice their opinions, fostering independence while maintaining discipline. Research has shown that children raised by authoritative parents tend to be confident, socially adept, and responsible. read more
Impact on Children:
High self-esteem
Strong social skills

Brainwash yourself with good habits. You need to do it the way you would train a dog - fetch the stick and get a treat.
I love listening to music but I also wanted to start listening to podcasts. I have to go to work everyday, and I prefer to drive myself to work and back.
I know that if I make myself listen to podcasts both drives, the habit will last not more than 3 days.
But if I make myself listen to a podcast on the way to work; and listen to my favourite music on the way back home to de-stress and relax; now that’s a healthy compromise. And it works for the long term.
The same goes with social media. I deleted all social media from my phone. I don’t have Facebook, Instagram, or even tumblr on my phone. The YouTube account that I keep on my phone has been very consciously kept; I only allow the algorithm to show me educational stuff like podcasts, history videos, news, psychology, stuff like that. Absolutely no entertainment. I keep all my social media (and my “fun” YouTube account which is basically Korean mukbangs and all sorts of useless beauty hauls that I honestly love to watch) on another device - my iPad, which I use for work. I check out what’s happening on tumblr or YouTube or Pinterest when it’s my lunch break or a coffee break. That’s another healthy compromise that works for me.
Going cold turkey with anything - stopping something addictive like smoking or drinking or suddenly starting a plethora of new habits- doesn’t work. You’ve restricted your mind and body so much that you keep remember the good old days where you drank like a whale and sat on the couch watching rubbish and you glamorise, romanticise and reminisce those times. Now you’re in that dangerous red zone where you know that if you see that bottle or the packet of chips, your body is going to reach for it before your mind can intervene.
Aim for long-term, sustainable albeit small habits, rather than complex overnight habits.

max's best drive ever?
Not just Max's, but 1 of the best drives in the history of the sport, definitely 1 of the finest ever driven on the intermediate tire. The way he made those tires perform on a wet resurfaced track where theres no mercy found in the white line, no rubber to build on, no drs, no easy overtake, just better cornering, that natural ability to take turns as if the racing line was drawn in front of him that is so his and so so devastating. People watch Austria and Mexico and c recklessness where theres only strength, control and complete lack of fear. In races like todays tho, u get to admire those same hands command the same respect without any room for doubt that he knows, in fact, what hes doing. Any advantage the machines may provide will dwindle and nearly dissipate because in conditions like todays it truly comes down to who knows better. And Max knew better from the moment the lights turned green. I think six cars before the main straight, dispatched, turned to nothing. When conditions worsened and race control began to play wid outcomes he not only endured, he thrived. While others began to pit he trusted himself to stay out, and he wasnt the only one but he was the 1 who did it best. 8 years ago, Max went and found grip everywhere else, and today, in the same circuit, where there was literally no grip to be found, he simply found the better line. He read the race like his favorite book while others could barely color within the shapes. It was somewhat insane to watch tbh, that disparity between racers, not only found in overtakes like on Oscar and Esteban, so crucial and so similar in the way he just knew how to position the car to catch them completely off guard, but also like, the pace alone, the relentless onslaught of perfect lap after perfect lap, 9 consecutive I think, 17 in total. This was a drive that nearly eclipsed 2023, first shades of last year without Newey in the pit wall, in a car that did so badly in Mexico it was getting outpaced by an Haas in its strongest tire. He didnt just come out from p17, he came out of a 20 second penalty, a 5 second penalty during a delayed VSC, an hammer to his quali chances for a late red flag, community service for swearing, shameless questioning of his driving, his wheel, his credibility as a champion, not just his racing but his character, too. I think its the context of all that that rlly makes the best drive of his career so far, because this was his best possible answer, and the only one that matters. p17 to p1 wid a 20 second lead. Some will reminisce about Senna, some will notice that early corner entry and admit Schumacher himself wud have struggled even a few times, the other legend on track whos as good in the wet didnt have the setup nor the confidence to show it, but I think today was a result only Max Verstappen cud have accomplished

Headcanon that Ais never feels fully rested. He doesn't feel tired, but he doesn't feel right either. Not since joining the groupmind.
He sleeps, but his mind is never really at peace. When and if he manages to fall into a deep enough sleep, he's in a constant state of something akin to lucid dreaming.
He gets flashes of the other members of the group mind in place of any real rest. Their current actions; errant memories; whispers in long-dead languages he's leaned to understand.

i think its interesting to point out that azula and katara are both people that value and strive for control, however they value different types of control
katara is someone who's been forced to become an adult at a very young age. she was given the responsibilities of a caregiver without the room to be a child. i think she focusses on an orderly, stable emotional/domestic dynamic and laboriously denies her own needs to achieve that. its also the fact she is, no doubt, attempting to emulate her mother in a way that a child cannot really comprehend. there's an expectation afterall for her to fulfil that empty space. so it comes off as controlling, perhaps even emotionally manipulating at times, while she in turn can be stubborn and wild with her own emotions. it's a fascinating dynamic because she constantly needs to be controlling people, not so much their action but their manner, headspace and so on, but also accepts help from others (when shes not being stubborn)! it's not healthy, per say, but she accepts people as people with their own thoughts, feelings and desires, and moves to accommodate that after they push back
azula on the other hand needs to control everything, all aspects, at all times. she too was forced to be an adult as a child, but she also never had a healthy example of an adult to begin with. her caregivers either left her at a key developmental stage or were. ozai. and as a princess, she's been taught to be a certain role with a country wide responsibility as soon as she could talk. alongside her military training, too! (all of this is taught, might i add, by people who are required to maintain a professional distance. even if she's a child, their society requires her emotional isolation) azula values absolute control and order in all aspects of her life, she's never allowed herself room to contemplate what a fufilling emotional dynamic is. she views everything on a wider scale, so much so she's always a politician, military leader and absolute ruler in every aspect. and in turn, everyone else is not allowed to have their own desires in the face of that. azula quite literally cannot approach people on an equal level, her background and her desperate need to control actively dehumanises them. while intellectually, she's a genius with an innate knowledge as to how people tick, they are always below her in class, in skill, and in her eyes, maturity in itself. which is ironic, really, since that very mindset is more childish than anything - viewing people like toys to play with, rather than humans with thoughts and desires outside her own
there's just. no separation for azula between her inner self and outer self need to control - unlike katara. because despite katara's need for control too, she's FAR more conscious of how a relationship should function. she's far more mature, really, than azula ever will be. in fact i'd argue katara being 'immature' is more an indicator of how stable she is than azula's demeanour. she feels her emotions, feels others emotions, and takes them at a human level. azula tantrums when someone doesnt dance to her tune

Occasionally, the Starblaster lands in a place that's actually receptive to their dire warnings. On one such world, with their society being accelerated by the Light of Creation, they even began making plans for how to combat the Hunger.
Barry goes to visit a convene a few months into the year, and finds them developing and honing skills they'll need to detect the Hunger - and to fight it when it arrives. To keep its destruction at bay until it follows the ship to the next planar system.
The skills they train are unlike anything he's seen before. Their healing appears as divine as any cleric's, but without the aid of gods - so cutting off the Celestial Plane won't stop their magic. And they fight, too, infusing that same magic into their weapons, powered by the force of their belief. They call themselves Watchers.
Barry trains with them, just the basics. They teach him how to draw power from the force of belief. From the memory of the Hunger consuming his world, and the promise that he'll do anything to stop it consuming others.
Anything.
Lup would do anything. He's sure. They're all incredibly fortunate to have someone like her onboard - someone who wouldn't ever let them destroy a world just to make this easier (and oh, he wasn't there, but he knows he would have been on Davenport's side about destroying the crystal).
He doesn't take the oath. He can see the way it codifies their belief into reality - the way it powers them, makes their souls divine. He wants to be that person, but he isn't. He doesn't put this foreign world above himself.
(But still, the magic takes to him. His senses sharpen to the Hunger's influence, letting him catch sight of the scouts without Blink. He can raise friends from unconscious mid-fight with just enough healing magic. He's dedicated, he believes, even if he won't commit and tie his soul to it.)
--
For a time, he leaves it there. There's so, so much to do and learn and see on this journey. He stays a level one rogue while Magnus trains up more dexterity and stealth, and he stays a level one paladin too, for now.
On Faerûn, Barry commits hard to an imperfect plan. And when he falls, already dead, from the ship, he already knows - on top of finding her - that he's going to have to defend it.
He's trapped in a cave for months at a time. The thing about plans is it doesn't really take three months to concoct one, no matter how granular he gets (and really, he needs to stop himself getting too detailed - it's hard enough getting his living self to follow basic instructions exactly how he wants). So he takes up other studies in the meantime.
He can't use weapons as a ghost, but he can practice the movements, ingrain the knowledge into pockets of 'muscle' memory. He's no cleric, but he can study their magic, see the ways their spells overlap with that training he underwent all that time ago.
He won't risk asking any god on Faerûn for help with the Raven Queen after him - he's not close with one like Merle is - but he already knows he can pull similar magic from inside himself. And some of the most basic spells look really useful, when he's only ever had wizard spells before.
Even when he doesn't remember, when he's just some guy who couldn't cast a spell to save his life, he feels it: the promise, the belief that drives him. He doesn't remember where he learned to fight, but he knows how to move a weapon like it's a part of his body. He knows when he's really, truly desperate, when his adventuring party of the week is on its last legs, his weapon glows with that fury and hits harder than it ever should otherwise.
--
He appears in his workshop feeling sick and furious, lightning lashing off him. All he can hear is their voices, so casually dismissing the dead guy they'd found the umbrastaff on.
Lucretia knows too. She must know, and she hasn't done anything about it -- still leaves Taako without the knowledge of just how fucking important that thing should be to him.
He drags himself back to some semblance of composure, ignoring the new burns and cracks he's put in the walls. Lup is out there somewhere. Lup still exists in this world, along with Merle's children and Magnus'... well, extended in-laws, and--
And she wouldn't let them flee this world, not with their families rooted here, and she wouldn't let Lucretia destroy this world.
And neither will he.
He's going to find her. He's going to bring them all together. He just needs their trust, and he's sure some echo of that century will get them to listen to him. He can bring everyone together, and once he does that, they'll find some way through this. They always do.
The bonds that tether his soul pull taut, burning now with divinity in the heart of an unholy abomination. He knows now how to change the shape of his soul, how to let its form twist around newfound power.
On the discipline of a decade's routine, on sleepless vigilance, on undying loyalty, he swears his oath.
This world will not be consumed.

Balancing Spirituality, Academics, and Friends
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌱 “Your soul is a garden, and every aspect of your life is a flower. Water them all, but don’t drown yourself.” 🌱
I’ve been thinking a lot about balance lately. Between morning meditations, coursework deadlines, coffee dates with friends, and just trying to breathe, it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed. If you’re in the same boat, here are a few gentle reminders that have helped me:
✨ 1. Start Your Day with Intention
Before diving into the chaos of the day, take 5-10 minutes for yourself. This could be journaling, meditating, praying, or even just sipping tea in silence. Grounding yourself first thing sets the tone for everything else.
📚 2. Prioritize, Not Perfect
Your GPA, your spiritual growth, and your friendships all matter, but not everything needs 100% of your energy every day. Some days you’ll ace a test but skip a workout. Other days you’ll have deep talks with a friend but leave an assignment for tomorrow. That’s okay. Balance is about the big picture, not daily perfection.
💌 3. Make Time for Connection
Don’t underestimate the power of spending time with people who uplift you. A quick walk with a friend, sending a thoughtful text, or calling family can rejuvenate your spirit and remind you of the love surrounding you.
🕊️ 4. Sacred Pause
Your spiritual practice doesn’t have to be long or elaborate. Light a candle, pull a tarot card, say a prayer, or just sit with your thoughts. Even 5 minutes can be a reset.
🌊 5. Embrace the Ebbs and Flows
Life isn’t always perfectly balanced, and that’s part of the beauty. Some seasons you’ll focus more on academics, and other times your spirituality or social life might take the lead. Trust that it all evens out in time.

Using CSB - Easiest Guide to Levelling Up
I get asked very often how one should use CSB. I’ve created these templates multiple times but I believe that this is the simplest version of what I can give you.
If you’re a beginner who is just starting their level up journey; or if you struggle to be consistent; you find yourself resetting often; then this simple guide is for you.
1. Make a list of all the goals you have in your life. It could be anything - health, wealth, mental health, beauty, anything.
2. Create your SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). Define your strengths and weaknesses well.
3. Revise your goals again based on your SWOT. Define them as short term (0-3 months) and long term (3 months+).
4. Decide three goals that you want to tackle now. 2 short term and 1 long term.
Example:
Short term: finishing the last sem of uni; finding a job; reading 2 books this month; completing an online course.
Long term: losing X amount of weight; consistently meditating, etc.
5. Build a habit stack. Define a time for all your 3 goals. Start with 3, no matter what. You’ll build your way up slowly - the upper limit should not exceed 5 at a time.
Example:
Morning: reading
Afternoon: doing an online course
Evening: working out
5. Set a weekly target. Set a monthly target.
Example:
Reading: 3x week.
The only time you can increase your goals or increase the intensity is if you meet 85% (0.85) of them in a month.
Example: reading 3x a week
Total number of days in a month: 12 days (3 days * 4 weeks)
Minimum number of days: 10 days (approx 12* 0.85)
Only if you reach your minimum goal of 10 days can you increase your goals/ intensity. How would you do this? You could perhaps increase reading days from 3 to 5 a week; or number of books from 1 a month to 2 a month.
What happens if you don’t reach the 85% target? Then you stick to the original target (reading thrice a week) until you achieve your 85% monthly consistency goal.
6. Monthly revision
Keep a diary where you note down your progress/ use a habit tracker to keep a track of everything. You need to ask yourself 3 questions at the end of every month:
1. Do the tasks I’ve chosen play a key role in the person I want to be? OR, do my tasks line up with my goals?
2. Am I meeting the 85% target for all 3 tasks this month? If no - why?
3. Can I take on one more task? (Simple yes/no)
This is also a good time to check in and ask yourself - are these the goals I still want to stick to? Should I change my goals?
7. Dealing with discipline, motivation and rest days.
You need to keep your tasks simple initially for the discipline to kick in to avoid procrastination.
The motivation will come when you define your end goals.
You need at least 1 rest day a week/ 2 rest days a month (depends on you) where you do nothing but just chill and relax.

I’m watching a video essay about how teachers are quitting because apparently younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha have horrendous behavior problems and a complete lack of wanting to learn or excel at anything education related and that is absolutely heartbreaking. A lot of kids growing up today (like five year olds to younger teens) can’t even read and write well because their parents (mainly older millennials and Gen X) shove iPads in their faces and don’t actually engage with them on a genuine level academically or even emotionally as parents. Since they were basically born with social media and the internet, the nurturing they should be getting from their parents is coming from these addictive devices which in turn exacerbated these nihilistic mindsets, disregard for their own or anyone else’s wellbeing, and complete lack of empathy in general.

I studied Design Concepts. I suppose I found Neumorphism, which caught my interest.
I'm on a mission to soak up knowledge like a sponge! The whole day I'm buzzing with ideas and no energy, but as soon as the sun sets, my brain flips a switch and I'm suddenly productive. But after short time, I'm too tired. It's a weird struggle, but I'm determined to find a balance!

papa!Churin potential......... much to be discussed.
I think Aventurine would be the best dad but the road to getting him to fatherhood itself must be paved with so much healing before it's even a topic with his partner i feel. that's what makes the payoff worth it :"] either that or he's so into the idea he skips every necessary step and just 😭 jumps straight into it. eager guy. definitely papa material.
but either way we know that he's secretly meticulous and a 'perfectionist' in his own way. he would never half-ass parenthood especially with regards to his past, he'd ensure they'd grow up in THE most comfortable and happy environment (see: Jade's text messages)
Tumblr media
so he'd definitely and i mean DEFINITELY buy them anything they want, spoil them rotten, but also spend a lot of time with them teaching them what he wished he'd been taught. definitely the type to put family over work it's not even funny (if the question of "do you love your family more than yourself?" in the story wasn't enough of an indicator)
just........... papa!Churin :( the euphoria he would feel about an expanding family :) coming to grips with that happiness he doesn't really let himself feel now :( but he can feel it and he can be a good parent :) only a matter of time before he realizes it with some help and emotion processing :))) god why do i keep giving myself brainworms to draw. love this guy honestly.
