okay, bc i have seen this argument alot now (and it also seems to be the view point of aonuma himself..) is that "zelda cant do everything link does bc whats the point then"

and i take personal offense on that bc its a stupid argument (in. my. very. personal. opinion.- not judging people for liking it. its a ME thing)

whats the point? its that its her. its still a different character, different in story, background, personality, but i WANT to play zelda and she can do everything link does, why does she have to be so restricted and be bend over backwards to find some new way to make her 'useful' when link gets to do basically everything no questions asked (the only thing thats hers is like .. sealing power and sacrificial maiden, which i find a little underwhelming to say the least), if theres no point to it why are there always modders that model swap link with someone else, and in that case it has even less impact bc its an artificial model swap with no changes to the story (which can and should still be different when its the vanilla game with a different protagonist... its still a different character), clearly theres joy in just the model being a different one- and that isnt even to mention the story possibilities, since, again, its stil a different character

if we ever (never ... i know who we are talking about here) get to play as ganondorf i want to him to be just as versatile and active as link is, if we got a point and click adventure game for him instead bc 'whats the point' id be disappointed too- you can find any sort of excuse/explanation for zelda to be singled out but the fact remains it tracks with how female characters are often treated, and that hits a very sore spot for me

i guess i am unfortunately one of those annoying people that want to see female characters be treated exactly the same as male characters, possibly bc i am myself afab but identify as agender and have a deeply personal dislike for anything 'traditional' feminine bc i cannot and never will be able to truly live as myself in real life, it influences all of my work, my work is as just as much as my opinion on this, very personal

and in line with my point about modding, i see theres joy in just beign able to play as her even if its like this, i get that, i also get it for the creative aspect (though that mechanic worries me even more for the future bc it really seems to be the path now that -freedom = good, linear anything = bad-) it is a different idea and its not like i cant see that value- im not trying be "right" either, just bc i have that opinion doesnt mean i need everyone to agree, its a very personal thing, if you like it good for you! not for me though, and i think both of that is equally valid

i just personally wish she was allowed to be just like link, fight just like him but be different bc its still her and not him in the end- to be physically/playstyle like jsut like him, but you know ... as her, i dont think shed stop being zelda if she could wield a sword just like him

i dont really know how to get my point/feelings across, i dont want to step too much into personal stuff nor spam people with something that ultimately doesnt interest me alot, im just saddened by it really

Lily's views on action shows are very confusing. She wants to see female protagonists mow through their enemies with ease, and the second there's any kind of conflict, she'll either complain about characters moping like Luz from The Owl House, or claim that a character being hurt in an action show is being "tortured" like Korra.

Which you know, is a little eyebrow raising when you look at Lily's own writing, mainly her Star Wars fanfic. Didn't Aliana get injured more then once, even needing a prosphetic??? Does this not count as writing torture porn by Lily's logic. After all, if a character gets hurt in any way in her eyes, its either torture porn, a fetish or something along those lines. Or is it another Lily's allowed to do it because insert how she does it better then any other writers....I mean I ain't gonna lie, I'd watch Fullmetal Alchemist over reading Lily's writing if I wanted disabled characters at this point, given how I swear Aliana's prosphetic took its sweet time showing up in art drawn for the fic, let alone how she depicts other disabilities in other writing.... And I would point out how Lily TECHNICALLY reduced Rey to being depressed forever when with Aliana when she's out here acting like Luz being slowly depressed over everything is bad....but I'm pretty sure Rey being depressed in the fic is a fetish for Lily because...Aliana never does anything about it and seems to enjoy the smell of Rey when Rey's not showered at all, let alone thought it was good to say Rey would just end her life when Aliana died, acting like Rey has nothing left to live for and the couples kids and grandkids would be fine with it....so if anything, I wonder if Lily hates Owl House for Luz being depressed for a bit because its not depicted in a romantic light like Lily does in her writing, its depicted as a bad state for Luz that she eventually gets out off. The same going for Korra actually now that I think about it. It's never once depicted in a light that Lily herself can romantize or fetish. Korra is in constant pain in the torture moments and has PTSD from it, PTSD she has to slowly recover enough from so she can be the avatar again. Lily saying the writers/animators enjoyed doing the scene, acting like they into torture porn is major projection on Lily's part, but also clearly her being mad the show doesn't give into her fetishes.

But like beyond fetishes....Lily and action shows is just: *Lore? Bad. *Plot? Bad. *Male characters who are white? Bad. *If your character struggles and gets injured and shit? TORTURE PORN. Like it'd be one thing if she just said she didn't like the damn shit shes talking about, but no, she just makes up bullshit and acts like she's right and if you disagree, your insert whatever thing she can come up with.

HELP EJKBEJKBRK Sanji has been asking to have a pet rat for so long and Nami kept saying he couldn't have one (because of reasons definitely not related to Luffy going INSANE if he has an animal to play with. Honestly, that's scarier than the possible hygiene issues) but now that they have a rat... They can't just... Leave her on her own... Right... He cries a little. Does puppy eyes to keep her. Nami gives in to those eyes for once in her life. The rat is actually adorable, so it's alright. And Sanji just- He loves the thing. Usopp thought it'd be just a silly pet but it's basically with Sanji 24/7. On his shoulder. In his pockets. Sleeping with him. He speaks to her all the time. And somehow?? He's happier?? He seems better. Like, emotionally stable. What the fuck. And Usopp never thought he'd say this but Sanji was right and rats indeed do wonders for his mental health. Besides, the little thing loves Usopp too so so much. It's like she's a Sanji 2.0 because of how much she loves Usopp and how little she stands Zoro's presence (fucking hates him for some reason but Sanji couldn't be prouder).

And now Yasopp has a cat!!!! Please, tell me it's a very unhinged cat that actually looks adorable when you look at it at first but in reality, hates everybody that isn't Yasopp, Usopp, or Sanji. Please. He hates Shanks the most too. It'd be hilarious that they met Buggy once and the cat just ADORES him because Buggy is such a cat guy. And Shanks is so sad to see the cat and Buggy receiving the love he can't give them. Yasopp can't stop laughing at him. His mood has improved, actually. He's happier and more energetic and the cat is just as fun as him!

I love how the people who haven't seen the clone wars and rebels are like "oh yes bo katan is so badass i'm starting to love her a lot" etc etc while i'm here like. this woman is the equivalent of a dumpster fire. she's such a loser look at her rotting in a throne room the whole day doing absolutely nothing but being miserable. she's so bored that she's travelling across the galaxy to help the equivalent of a distant acquaintance. just to feel something. even though she's supposed to dislike Din because he got in the way by accident she's so done with everything that she helps him. i'm sure if some other random characters showed up she would have helped them as well because she's so bored. She was able to conjure ALL of her celestial spirits, 3 or 4 of them being fricking ZODIACS, all at once and being powerful enough to be recognized by the celestial spirit king? And all in the first season? Where she hasn’t even had her star dresses and other abilities she has learned?

Not to mention this theory about her being a descendent of the goddess Anna, the best Celestial Spirit user.

And im rewatching it rn, and ive already encountered a moment where if she didnt interfere, natsu would have died. The arc with phantom lord where natsu is battling gajeel? Gajeel had eaten iron but there was no fire for natsu to eat, and so Lucy gave him that fire by using Sagittarius. Without that fire, natsu definitely wouldnt have finished that fight.

People are always saying ‘oh well that may be so, but if she hadn’t joined the guild-‘ Phantom lord would have most definitely attacked them for another reason. They wanted to remain the best guild in Fiore. Fairytail challenged that, so it was just a matter of time before they fought.

The only spirit she really had was Aquarius, and we can infer that she only brought her out on very few occasions. And she also wouldn’t have been able to build up any target practice or any muscle building, since Jude would say, in the stupid old fashioned way, ‘women don’t need muscles. All you need to do is make yourself look presentable to find a husband.’ He definitely wouldn’t have wanted her practicing her magic.

Meanwhile, all the others grew up in an environment where they could practice their magic freely with other wizards. They had teachers and activities that enhanced their magic and physical builds, she didn’t. So of course she wouldn’t be able to be on their level so soon.

Also, the amount of magic it takes to summon a silver spirit is a lot, but even MORE so for a Zodiac. Mashima explained that it pretty much is on a scale from 1-100. Plu being the easiest to summon at one, and her highest silver key being Lyra at 18. Her golden keys on the other hand, has Aquarius at 100 and the lowest being Cancer at 52. Others talk about the spirits only being able to use as much magical power as Lucy uses to summon them, but i doubt that theory/statement.

And its also amazing even then because she can keep those gates open for a tremendous amount of time, and multiple on some occasions. I don’t know if this part is true, but i believe that the mage has to have at-least some level of concentration on the gate for it to keep open, so if that’s correct, then it makes it even more astounding that she is able to focus on the bond at all times while fighting. And i only say this because her spirits go back to the spirit realm when she is knocked out.

Also during the E.N.D arc, (haven’t gotten there yet, seen bits and pieces) she literally REWRITES the E.N.D book that Zeref HIMSELF wrote. She literally rewrote his fate. And yes, i know that Gray was there to help her out, but at the same time, most people would have still not have been able to handle the mental and physical strain that causes.

And im just guessing on this part, but didnt she learn an entirely new part of her magic by someone in blue pegasus and learned how to preform the spell in like a week? Month? Some other very short time span?

Anyways i just love lucy and i would litterally rather show everyone my ao3 library before letting her get hurt/bashed. Lmao
