yesterday was my first day getting back on my stationary bike since thanksgiving. manifesting my ability to do it again (aka ingesting thc)
#if you have a hard time with exercise because of physical disability and lack of control of muscle tension#obviously do your own research and consult a doctor if you feel the need to before you even try#thc might help you work your way back into (or into for the first time!) a regular exercise routine#the webmd interaction checker does include marijuana as a drug that can be assessed! always check#smoking is processed through your lungs which take damage hard. edibles are processed through your liver#which regenerates faster than thc edibles damage it. in case that matters to anyone#that's why i take edibles anyway. also i hate smoking#anyway! taking an edible and waiting half an hour before you start your workout means that your high will be kicking in about the time#you get finished with your workout - exercise makes you metabolize thc faster#you also get to combine thc high with your after workout happy chemicals and#the dopamine boost will bring your brain to associate physical exertion with feeling Good#which is good! i use thc for muscle tension from ptsd and other unrelated chronic pain#this has been your thc psa of the day#mer rambles

anatomy was honestly the worst class ive taken in uni to date because the teacher would spend at least 30 minutes every class bragging about himself
#julia.txt#this is what happens when you have doctors for teachers <- gross generalization im just salty#NO YOU KNOW WHAT WAS REALLY FUNNY#he has a ratemd page or whaetevr that website is#and the reviews are HILARIOUS. well really bad but like. insane#i think there were 4 separate reviews saying that they wouldnt go back to him even under pain of death#every single class he would tell us that he helped create the university website (implying that he played a big part)#and then me and my friends checked and it said he was on the consultation committee. LIKE BROTHER#HE WOULDNT JUST BRAG ABOUT LIKE SURGERIES IS THE THING#he would brag about being a good driver about being a gourmet about going to paris about his historical knowledge????#we are here for anatomy. please dear Lord#and then i got a 50 on the exam <3 peace and love on planet earth

People who never stretch, carried/carry their backpacks on one shoulder all through school/life, don't sleep enough, work 40+ hours a week on their feet, and hunch over computers for hours at a time: My body is failing my bones are crumbling and my back and knees hurt all the time :(( it must be because I just turned 30 and no other plausible reasons.
#fr#if your body is in massive amounts of pain suddenly as you get into your late twenties/early thirties that's not like a normal thing#you should go consult a doctor for real#i listed off some things that are pretty hard on the body but there are many reasons someone might have constant joint/back pain#things that have nothing to do with aging#go see a doctor and stop acting like 30 is decrepit

... the fuck you mean you've had too many teeth broski.
OH well when I was like eight I had an extra tooth that was trying to grow upwards, like, into my nose, so they had to go in and surgically remove that one. smh. it fucked up all my other teeth somehow so then i got braces immediately after. i have really good mouth genetics actually.
#unfort i was EIGHT YEARS OLD#and therefore not capable of taking care of braces#so then they removed them#and then when i was like twelve i had another oral surgery#to remove that flap of skin like? under your lip#just below your nose and above your front teeth?#the place where you get a smiley piercing#yeah i dont have that they cut it out#and then immediately after THAT surgery i got braces again#and then when i was fourteen i had to get a root canal#coz ig my teeth have pits in the backs of them?#which makes it easy for bacteria to crawl up in them? or smth#anyway i had an abscess and a massive infection#was in horrible pain had a fever etc etc and we went to the dr and he said go to the dentist so we went to the dentist#and the DENTIST said i was just being DRAMATIC abt my braces and to ignore it#and then i happened to see my orthodontist like a week later and he was like#yah uh the color on that tooth is weird i wanna xray it#OH YEAH ACTUALLY THERES A HORRIBLE INFECTION. were referring you to an oral surgeron#and then i went to the oral surgeon for the consult and she said mmmm actually im like?#super dupes worried that the infection is gonna move into ur brain and kill u like. literally any minute now so uhhhhh can we do the surger#like#RIGHT NOW??? ill cancel all my other appts#so we did#but then the infection was so bad that it came back so a week later we did a second surgery#but this time they went in thru an incision in my gums to like. scrub out all the infection i guess#and it had eaten away a part of my jaw so i got a BONE GRAFT#and like sixteen stitches#but now its okay :)#i have a gum scar#anyway now my wisdom teeth are doing things lol

ha ha ha oh friends I cannot survive many more nights like that one. I have gotten so much better at managing the despair/panic feelings… it’s a combination of: I know I’ll survive even the worst night because I’ve done it many times before + I also know that nothing can be done to alleviate the pain at this point so it’s no use panicking or fretting about what I should do to make it stop. it won’t stop it won’t stop it just has to be endured. but my god I just have to say again and again I did not know before that you could be in that much pain and there could be nothing anyone could do about it. I just!!!!! I am a wounded animal all night I cry and I cry and I whimper and I make horrible involuntary hurt animal noises and I try weakly to self-soothe and I cry some more. this is a tough way to live. I am so afraid of the nights. I just wish I could sometimes sleep :(
#hands :(#my surgery consult is scheduled for the 29th#they also had one for three days after the birth and I’m wondering if I should call back and request that one#no idea yet when i can actually get in for surgery but#everybody in my life is taking really good care of me#but the bare fact of the pain is just so much and so scary and so lonely to experience

Release back pain
Exercise can be helpful in relieving and preventing lower back pain. Here are some exercises that can be beneficial:
Pelvic tilt: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Tighten your abdominal muscles and press your lower back into the ground. Hold for 5 seconds and release.
Knee-to-chest stretch: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Bring one knee up to your chest and hold for 15-30 seconds. Repeat with the other leg.
Bird dog: Start on your hands and knees. Lift your right arm and left leg straight out, keeping your back straight. Hold for a few seconds and then switch sides.
Bridge: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your hips up toward the ceiling, squeezing your glutes. Hold for a few seconds and then lower back down.
Cat-cow stretch: Start on your hands and knees. Arch your back up like a cat and then lower it down like a cow. Repeat several times.
Cobra pose: Lie on your stomach with your hands under your shoulders. Press up through your hands, lifting your chest and arching your back. Hold for a few seconds and then lower back down.
Child's pose: Kneel on the ground and stretch your arms forward, lowering your forehead to the mat. Hold for several seconds.
Remember to start slowly and gradually increase the intensity and duration of your exercises. If you experience pain or discomfort during any exercise, stop and consult with a medical professional.

back in that annual waiting game of “how long can i put off going to the doctor” that inevitably leads to a lot of shit going down in december
#it’s almost exactly a year since i started my 40-day run of antibiotics. that was the 2nd attempt to get rid of this sinus infection#my 4th attempt to get rid of it was this september i think#with a different antibiotic because it was actually prescribed by my dentist for my extremely painful tooth#they always work after a couple days but never fully kill the infection & as soon as i’m off them it’s back full force.#i have my consultation with a neurosurgeon on december 5th#and should probably finish a proper trial of the other 2 options i’ve been told to try for my sinusitis before that#i’m so sick of this shit#personal#chronic illness

i just think american politicians should be shot one by one until healthcare is solved, actually
#vent#surgeons office just called and said in order to have my gallbladder removed i have to pay $1785 up front. who the fuck has that#just LYING AROUND to fucking pay. on top of that i have to deal with whatever the CT scan i had of my spleen shows bc it’s enlarged and the#gastro doctor said he was trying to rule out cancer which has been eating at me bc it’s like. the one thing i’ve spent my entire life afraid#of bc every single person in my family pretty much who has died was bc some type of cancer#and now i can’t even get rid of the one problem that has been diagnosed and could be fixed because i haven’t met a fucking#$2500 deductible bc my insurance through work sucks ASS. and the lady was like i’m sorry there isn’t anything more we can do to help#also the consultation only lasts 30 days so i have 30 days to schedule or i have to go back and spend $60 on ANOTHER doctors visit#bc that’s how much my ‘specialty’ doctors visits costs just for them to give me the same fucking estimate#ASSUMING i even make it that long bc the nausea and the pain in my side is so bad my grandmother thinks it might be infected like hers was#and i’m like. this close to just ending it. this shits miserable like it’s MISERABLE i’m so tired rn

has anyone here been to a physical therapist like. just cause. without a referral or an injury. is it weird to do that
#sent a request for a consultation last night on a whim bc im just. kind of in pain lol#im thinking not going to pt when that doc told me i had loose ligaments in high school was a mistake bc. i feel like ive overextended a lot#perhaps. and now maybe im overcompensating. and things actively hurt instead of just passively kind of crackling or aching if i apply#pressure. so. like i have good reason to ive just never been...#also havent heard back so god knows if ill get an appt yk#i mean TECHNICALLY technically i did get referred i was just 17 at the time.#abby talks#also have no clue how much insurance would cover for an actual session so.#probably not omg sustainable :(

#sigh#another day another medical gaslighting incident#-.-#i s2g i cant remember the last time i had a consult that wasnt just some dickhead ignoring every symptom / word i said#and then blaming all my chronic illnesses & disabilities on sleep / anxiety / weight / being trans etc#dude wouldnt listen to anything other than the sound of his own voice#and Insisted on putting me on a medication i am not remotely comfortable going on bc of oast bad reactions to similar ones#literally was like 'well u can do what i say or u can just figure ur life out and stop being stressed and sedentary all the time'#BUDDY#a) im disabled. being sedentary is not a choice and becoming un-sedentary is not an option#b) my chronic migraines and fibromyalgia r not because of stress. yes stress can make them worse sometimes#but anxiety does not cause or create severe physical conditions and disabilites. ur ridiculous. this is ridiculous#c) 'fixing my life' will not fix my chronically ill and disabled body. what a wild thing to say who tf gave u ur license#and why do u have a job at a pain clinic that specialises in chronic illnesses and disabilities. tf#d) its wildly irresponsible to insist on a medication that's from a family of meds known to cause bad side effects / reactions in a patient#and then ignore them when they tell u they r not comfortable going on that medication bc of that#and then to refuse to discuss alternatives and demand a 'my way or the highway' approach to care#and end in telling the patient they do not care about their health if they don't blindly do as u say when u dont even know them#fuck u dude#i care more about my health than u do. u have known me for 3 minutes and 20 seconds and barely skimmed my file. fuck Right off#and lastly#e) ur a dismissive discriminatory asshole and there's not a chance in hell i will trust a word out of ur mouth#when all u did in that 5 minute appt (THAT U WERE 73 MINUTES LATE TO) was gaslight tf out of me and blame me for all my disabilities#get fucked bro#ur as much of a shithead as every other doctor i've dealt with at that clinic#like the one who put me on said bad medication which caused me to lose half my hair#and then ghosted me as soon as i called to inform her of that and request a med change. its been 8 months & she still refuses to contact me#i've left over 10 messages. i ended up having to go to my GP and a dermatologist who both said to get off that medication asap#which i did. but the telogen effluvium (hair loss due to meds) STILL hasnt bounced back so now im close to balding bc of that shit doctor#and now u want me to go on a med known to cause that even WORSE just bc u feel like it regardless of my well-being? Nah. no. fuck that 🖕👋
