late night thoughts in the midst of 60 days without spiderbit, q!Cellbit talking about not being interested in having sex right after getting married to q!Roier (since what usually is expected to happen is the "honeymoon") and how this situation was handled in such a light and tender way it's something that lives in my mind rent free and it impacted me so deeply that every time i rewatch it i feel like biting my own arm crying and screaming with happiness.

like, the wedding had just ended, they went to the castle together, to their home, and then when q!Cellbit says "i don't know if that's a problem with you" i immediately held my breath without even realizing and waited to see what q!Roier's reaction would be and there was no joke, no mockery or uncomfortable comment, in fact it was the most incredible response possible this whole scene is absolutely wonderful. q!Cellbit says "it's ok, right? i thought it would be okay but i mean, i thought we should talk" and then "but like, we can still sleep together i'm just not gonna make sex" and this part makes me want to explode because while q!Cellbit is saying that q!Roier lets out an aww and then he says "yes, you know, it's not only sex it's not only mwah mwah mwah (kissing), it's to have time with each other and maybe we can play enigma do medo together!" he not only reaffirmed that a relationship is not just based on making out but he also suggested what they can do during their honeymoon, they can spend time together and play games and then sleep together to rest.

and to me it's so important that this is something constant and meaningful in q!Cellbit and not just something that is used superficially in the character, like when he met q!Philza and he talked about his platonic relationship with q!Missa, q!Cellbit's reaction was "ah, in an asexual way?" and then how after starting his relationship with q!Roier when people made sexual insinuations he always said "nah, i don't like doing that" and once in a fun talk with q!Pol who said that q!Roier is very "libidinous" and "promiscuous" q!Roier replied like "wait do you only think about these things? life isn't always like that, you know? it's about love, coexistence and tenderness"

and then several other little moments, like when q!Roier was showing off his spider-man outfit in a sensual and flirting way, lying on the floor like "so... what do you think?" and q!Cellbit replied "oh i liked it, do you like spider-man a lot? have you seen the new animation movie or not yet?" or when q!Roier was making the joke that he was hungry (horny XD) and q!Cellbit was like "i can't believe this, here i am thinking about making something for us to have dinner together, a romantic dinner and you thinking about that..." and q!Roier was like "give me d*ck" 🗣️HAUSHSKSHDJSK or when they started making sex jokes like "yeah we were having sex, a lot of sex" meanwhile they were just construting together and spending time with each other AARRGH idk man i just love them so much and them having a relationship based on trust and love above all else is so significant

The Missed Potential of WISH

It’s funny.

Last year, I really wanted to watch the new Wish animated film from Disney.

While everyone else were hating on the art and animation style, I actually kind of liked it and was genuinely looking forward to possibly viewing it on the big screen.

Then the reviews came in. Needless to say, I didn’t watch Wish.

I remember a time when people used to complain about Disney making “too many love stories”. Then Disney stopped making love stories leading to films like Moana, Coco, Encanto and even Turning Red, which weren't bad.

Following the failure of Wish, the biggest complaint I’ve heard for that film is that “it probably would’ve been more successful if it were a love story”.

The last romance Disney had we’re the protagonist was a “black girl” was Tiana from The Princess and the Frog which was technically their last 2D animated feature film.

And don’t get me wrong, til this day, The Princess and the Frog still tracks. Second to Tangled, I still very much love TPATF and it's one of Disney's classics that definitely have the rewatchability.

That being said, Wish is the first Disney film I've seen where the missed potential of what its story was originally supposed to be (herego a love story between a human girl and shape-shifting star boy) versus what we actually got is more popular.

Aww Disney, what were you thinking?! How could you think a film where the main character, who is a PoC, the first "black girl" (well technically I think Asha is meant to be mixed) female lead/love interest that you've had since Tiana in The Princess and the Frog in 14 YEARS where she is actually human for all of the movie and gets to share a love story with a handsome "star boy" who can literally make all of her dreams come and think that that's NOT gonna make you money!

I haven't even watched Wish yet I've seen more artwork and fan-made animatics of Asha and Star Boy than anything from the actual film.

At this point, Disney should just take all of the original ideas they left on the chopping block for Wish and revise them into a future title which is an actual love story they could market from.

Or…as an audience, we can just wait for one of their competitors, like Dreamworks to smell the blood in the water like the sharks they are and capitalize on Disney’s latest flop by taking the ideas they didn’t use and coming up with something that could potentially usurp the popularity of Wish’s failure.

In the case of Dreamworks, they don’t even need to make a new star boy since, technically, they already have potential “star boy” they can use.

Remember Rise of the Guardians?

Hahaaaaa OF COURSE you do, since it gave us the original immortal boy internet heart throb (also ironically voiced by Chris Pine who played King Magnifico in Wish) ---Jack Frost.

I find it hilarious that another reason why folks are hating on Wish so much is because Disney could've given us another potential immortal boy heart throb "Star Boy" to finally usurp the chokehold that Jack Frost has had on our generation of weebs and artists for the past 12 years since RoTG first dropped.

We could've had it all.

But as I mentioned Rise of the Guardians, did you know that there is character in the original series it was based off of called Nightlight?

While technically not a “star boy”, Nightlight is the closest thing to one in an already established universe from a Dreamworks property and since this squiggle meister never misses a beat to push for continuation of Rise of Guardians, hear me out:

Imagine a Rise of the Guardian prequel-sequel about the character Nightlight and make it a love story.

(Because apparently there's a girl that Nightlight grows close to in his story called Katherine. It's just a friendship but needless to say, there is potential there).

I know it’s been 12 years since Rise of Guardians first dropped and I know I've be hollering for a sequel since 2012.

But c'mon, if there was ever a time for Dreamworks to capitalize on an RoTG sequel, it's now.

As Wish has proven, the internet is hungry for another handsome immortal boy with magical powers.

Dreamworks set the ball rolling with Jack Frost.

If Dreamworks were to revisit RoTG again, take Nightlight's story. Take his design and give him the "Jack Frost" treatment and make it a love story on top of that.

I'm not saying it will happen. Not even saying it could happen.

But if somehow thought becomes reality and something like this does actually happen, whoever does it will be rolling in dough.

This is just a longwinded way of me to say that somebody needs to bank on the concept of a star falling in love with a human and do it now since as the internet has shown, it's what the people want and what Wish failed to give.

not to be random but wouldn’t it be cool if when Art bit someone their flesh began to gradually (or quickly depending on the scene pacing) decay, as in rotting from the inside out. i had this thought because 1. this man’s dental hygiene is so horrible that he probably has the komodo dragon effect (doesn’t have any actual venom but there’s so much bacteria in their mouths that you’re 99% guaranteed to get an infection when bitten) and 2. it’d be a cool demonic twist on the former. now that Art is actually a demon unlike in terrifier 1 there’s so many possibilities for abilities!

it really is a shame that The Entity (the thing possessing Vicky and The Little Pale Girl) and/or whatever other demons are sponsoring Art saw him and thought “yeah, this guy’s EXACTLY what we need to cause some suffering on earth” and gave him immortality but didn’t even give him any powers. like imagine being killed by a DIY cat o’ nine tails. he robbed the coroner once he woke up in 2 and too the acid. knowing the tomfoolery he’s up to this man probably saw a 5 Minute Crafts video and got inspired. demonic entity out here using regular weapons and rats and carrying them around in a trash bag (side note: it’s probably a heavy duty construction trash bag, which is how he carries his stuff - can you tell i’ve put a lot of thought into the logistics of this series). crazy.

that would be cool and i was actually thinking about that when i rewatched t2 and art was biting jonathan lol. i'm also reading the t2 novelization right now and it might cover that so i will let y'all know if it does give some info 👀 so far it's given awesome details and lore! art's mouth really is so gross it must have so much bacteria (and some i bet that are undiscovered by science lmao) and jonathan probably had an infection after that needed to be treated. sienna must've gotten an infection too when she got bit by art but her hands healed super fast so most likely not long after she got bitten she healed herself. and yes art's leveled up now so he should be grosser and more dangerous haha!

yep it's really interesting how he doesn't have any powers other than healing and being a cockaroach that just keeps coming back again and again 😂 he's for sure an avid watcher of 5 minute crafts lmao & it's funny bc in t1 yeah he's a regular guy with regular items and weapons and in t3 he's this powerful demon guy and is still making his own contraptions like the liquid nitrogen tank 😭maybe there's a reason why he has makeshift tools everytime and this is alluding to his background of being a mechanic or engineer or something?? hopefully we get more info about his background in t4. and this also brings up something i'm thinking about bc maybe like how we saw the monster making the sword for sienna in t3 there's a demon deep in hell somewhere making a weapon for art that he will use in t4 against sienna's sword? if it's gonna be an epic fight in t4 he should have a special weapon ya know? that would be awesome art should get to have something cool like sienna's sword too lol! or maybe it's just his horn that becomes magic 🤣

and oh yeah his trash bag has to be hella strong like stronger than hefty he has so much trash in there and i'm surprised that acid bottle didn't spill or break everywhere and how he was able to find stuff so quickly like the money in the costume shop and the gun in the bar scene lol

Smooth, Chad, real smooth. Although I wish we could have gotten some moments of them actually becoming more close because it’s kind of out of nowhere? ^ For reference, it took like a few minutes of screentime for us to buy into Troy and Gabriella being into each other, so they really could have squeezed something in like, maybe during their talk when they realised they fucked up? They could have a genuine moment there.

Also quick fast forward but I read in an interview with Monique I think that she had the idea of giving Taylor a Britney-inspired outfit for the last scene, and yeah it's a pretty nice touch! A mix between preppy but also showing her letting loose.

I didn't clock that outfit at all at first though because I'm used to seeing school uniform in my country asdjhsf

Anyway yeah it’s too sudden for Sharpay to suddenly be cool with everyone now, but I don’t really care because they had no idea how big this movie would become and that they’d get sequels so I get why they wrapped that up quickly.

Kelsi’s reaction is so funny though like, yeah I too would be like “Thanks!! Errr what do I do with this now I don’t know anything about basketball? Do I shoot it for fun? But I’ll probably flop and lose the ball, how long am I supposed to carry it for? Can I just… leave it to the side? Put it away I mean they’re gonna need it again? Jason noticing her being a bit awkward and helping her shoot the ball is sweet, he’s just like that. Not a huge fan of taking her hat off though, I know it’s like this ooooh she’s letting loose moment but…. she had it on during Breaking Free when she’d just stood up to Sharpay and she was all energetic and confident during the performance, she’s all about her hats let her wear her hat! It comes off as the “oooooohhh this nerdy girl with questionable fashion sense is actually really beautiful if she just presents more conventionally!” trope

I love watching the extras in this one because they’re obviously professional dancers and they just show everyone up, especially in that bit once the end credits start rolling. Ryan slays in this too, and happy to see Martha freely dancing there! As for the song itself, it’s iconic of course. For my personal listening tastes though, it's just a liiiittle too cheesy and for the kids. That’s what they were going for, with a pretty learnable choreography and all. Which is fine! It’s just not something I’d listen to much in my free time. I’m also haunted by another vine where these guys do a handshake or something and then break into this choreography idk, I can’t find it. -A Sign of Affection (Anime) - A cute little romance anime about a deaf girl falling for multi-lingual backpacker. There's not really a lot to talk about or analyze with this one, I'd call it quaint, adorable, and a little unmemorable. For the things I did like, it's great that the characters were all in college with pretty grounded non-anime personalities, I liked the art and fashion quite a bit, and it had a lot of moments that make you go "aww that's so sweet, you're so cute!". The protagonist especially is very cute both in design and personality, honestly she should be more popular with boys. There was also a surprising twist in that quite a few of the main characters notably dye their hair - like everyone has normal genetics and you see their natural hair colors either in flashbacks or in the roots as they grow out, they just choose to dye their hair anime colors, very charming. I also like that the love interest travels frequently and it's implied that the protagonist will start to travel with him soon as well, would love to see just an animated travel blog of different Asian countries. For the negatives I'd say that as of the first season there just hasn't been a lot of interesting development. The main couple is actually dating which is nice, but their pretty quick to say their in love rather than they have a crush, and we don't see them together too much as the focus shifts to 2 other side couples (one cute but kinda bland in presentation and the other fine as individuals but kind of frustrating together) + the second obviously going to fail love interest who's pretty unlikable. There's cute moments but nothing I'd really feel the need to rewatch. Finally while I liked a lot of the characters designs, personality wise, most of them where a little too grounded and archetypal to be interesting. I liked most of them while they were on screen well enough, but afterwards I couldn't tell you their names or 3+ character traits. All that being said I did enjoy it, it was a cute down to earth romance with some good disabled rep and cute visuals.

-The Silence of the Lambs (Movie) - Hey did you guys know that The Silence of the Lambs is a good movie? It's a good movie guys.

- Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury (Anime) - Okay fine tumblr, I'll watch the lesbian robot anime. Not too far in yet, I like the music and Suletta as a protagonist. I also appreciate the variety of skin tones and body types present, really helps it feel like a realistic globalized future. Not super into the chemistry of the main couple yet (I actually like Suletta more with the simping jerk jock), but they have plenty of time to grow on me and have a good foundation to develop from.

- Dungeon Meshi (Anime) - More elves are here, they seem fun! I'm always delighted to see what the monster of the week will be, the speculative biology and environments are so well done here.

- Shadow's House (Anime) - yup yup, cute cute.

- Vineland Saga (Anime) - We've been watching this for quite a bit now at anime night, though I haven't included it here as I don't really have much to say. The animation and environments are great and I appreciate the mature storytelling, but honestly the slow pacing, similar character designs, and lack of interest in the majority of the characters has me zoning a good amount of the time. Anime Tywin Lannister is kinda the only character I'm invested in right now and it feels like his days are numbered. Still there's quite a bit left to go, and I do like the thematic direction the story is going so I'll give it time to impress me.

-Mashle: Magic and Muscles (Anime) - New comedy anime to watch with my sister. I like it well enough so far so far, nothing amazing but it is hilarious how blatantly they rip off Harry Potter (good lol).

- One Piece (Anime/TV) - Yeah One Piece is probably gonna keep this spot basically the whole year. We have caught up with the anime and are now rewatching the live action, which still impresses me in how good it managed to be. Now that I have knowledge of the whole series under my belt, I'll say that the Live Action cutting Don Kreig, setting up the parallels between Koby and Luffy (Justice vs Freedom) early on, turning up Sanji's charm and down his women-obsession, and including Nami in the initial episode were all smart decisions that made a tighter and easier to watch story. I hope to see similar things in Season 2 which I'm psyched about. Anyway I am begging them to keep the anime edition of Ace in Alabasta, please please please.

- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Finished most of the Sumeru Archon quest which has some pretty neat lore drops. I still have a lot of exploring in the desert so I won't head to Fontain yet though.

Yeah!! 2007 is actually supposed to be a sequel of sorts to the live action 1990s tmnt movies! And then there was supposed to be a sequel to 2007 with Mikey joining the Foot to save his family or something. We could’ve had it all 😭.

Love that The Last Ronin is the only one you’ve read 😆. I enjoyed that comic until maybe the last 2 issues or so, they felt a bit weaker than the other issues. I know they’re doing a Last Ronin video game, would love it if they did some animated movie about it or something.

Ohh Teen Titans/YJ gotcha (and right?? how dare they leave out Donna 😭). That was basically my intro to it all as well I believe. The multiple Robin reveal is always so fun 😆. Aalskdja idk how you were unaware once watching YJ S2, but I won’t fault you for it bc there was just a lot of shit going on in that season 😆. And yeah Dick is definitely my fav, probably grew attached to him from YJ S1 though I always liked Robin best from the Teen Titans show, and that’s also Dick. And aww Tim’s your fav 💖. Dick and Tim have such a lovely brotherly bond.

Also, have you ever watched Supernatural or Merlin? Because if you love platonic/brotherly love, those two will fill your cup x10. and YES 'now you see me' just blew me away! the plot was incredible and i did NOT anticipate the plot twist at the end of the first film with Dylan being the fifth horseman (was convinced it was the french interpol lady). also the cast was just filled with actors i love so it was SO nice to see them all share the screen (Woody Harrelson! Mark Ruffalo! Jesse Eissenberg! Isla Fisher! Morgan Freeman!!!)

I really did love Henley so it was a little disappointing to not see her in the second film, but Lizzy Caplan as Lula ATE. She was so funny and literally so me (she's flirting with Jack 24/7 and I'm just like 'yeah I get her'). Lula was such a girlboss and verrrrry quickly became my favourite character. Just in general, the plot of this franchise is so well thought out imo? Like having to come up with all these twists and the magic tricks and big reveals and "always being one step ahead", i was here tryna figure it out before it got explained and I just never could! Just truly phenomenal.

When I first heard about this show, I was skeptical at first and didn't have many expectations going into it. I never watched the very first Pretty Little Liars series in its entirety, but this spinoff somehow managed to pull me in. Thank you PLLOS Original Sin for everything! What an amazing cast and show. I’m not sure if you’ve answered this before, but in case you haven’t, what are your top 10 characters? I’ve always had the same couple of character in mind but working remotely for the last few years made me watch a lot of current and past tv and I’ve changed my opinion a lot. Some characters that I thought were amazing when I was younger are really underwritten or bland, or just not what I thought at all lol. It’s nice to have a better perspective but it also made me stop rewatching because I want to keep some old favourites still!

I think the difference for me is that I don't really have individual favorites so much as archetypes? And that's going to show in this longass list of way more than 10 characters.

I decided to do a read more for both length as well as to give myself the option to edit in the future:

So this isn't an official list, I tried to make a list years ago and realized how difficult that would be and decided it'd be better to do archetypes/similar groupings, because there are SO many awesome characters, I can't remember and list every one of them, but archetypes I have a much better handle on.

i JUST watched heartstopper (under the hashtag you can see my thoughts all over my blog) and i loved it, now i'm rewatching maid sama (which technically isn't netflix...)

i feel like everyone says something different.. i have a resting bitch face, so i get "i thought you were mean" a lot... people also think i'm crazy confident. (i'm not). i guess i give off a bit of fashion girly and a teeny bit y2k? i think i perceive myself entirely different than other ppl actually do

i'm a city gal! ironically i live v close to the forest and grew up in nature (so i need a retreat every now and then)

Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that I just went to the cinema - "all by myself" - to rewatch TGM. Normally, I would NEVER do that but I felt empowered by some posts you wrote weeeeeks ago about how if you love something and want to do it, then you should - even if you'll have to do it by yourself. And it was - obviously - a great time so just wanted to send a little thank you note your way :D

(Also, can we just all take a moment to thank Keleigh Sperry for convincing Tom Cruise to put 'Great Balls of Fire' on the soundtrack? 'Cause I've been listening to that (and ofc 'Danger Zone', 'Hold my hand' and 'I ain't worried') on repeat all summer long!)
