Moving To Canada

Hey guys, I'm finally starting to get my stuff together to prepare to move back to Canada. It's a very overwhelming process for me as I have c+ptsd and some of it surrounds my last move. Though I don't see moving back to Canada as a bad thing, but an escape from things where I am, I still have a lot of trauma from having to move where I currently am and it's kicking up the old anxiety. BUT, I am doing my best to slowly get to where I am ready to go.

I am however in need of money to move. Many things I need to have brought back to Canada and many of those things I'm unwilling to give up. Things I've had all my life, or I have a deep connection to as they are related to my late husband. SO! If you would like to help, I have just updated my shop with many new things that I debuted at Sonic Expo in Dallas 2024. You can buy these things on my Etsy, or if you want to help and would rather do a donation, I do have a Kofi. I will post both links. I will eventually have original 4x6's of Amy, Ray, and Tails on my Kofi that will be set at $50 each. I'm just very tired from listing new items on my shop for the past three days! So I just finished Inside Out 2, and of course, my autistic ass has a whole lot to say about it, like how absolutely PERFECT the ending was.

Remember that whole "Circle of Sadness" that Joy made to try to keep Sadness away from the core memories? This little space she made for Anxiety is the absolute antithesis of that. It wasn't made to keep her AWAY, but to keep her GOING by giving her the resources she needs to be at the best of her abilities, and we see this as she still gets to contribute to the team!

It not only shows how much Joy has grown since the first movie, but it also builds on its themes as the sequel is about destigmatizing Anxiety, just as the first film was about destigmatizing Sadness!

And as a neurodivergent (who deals with anxiety quite a bit), it makes me burst into tears to see this movie give a message that says, "anxiety is a challenge, but it's still a part of who you are, and a part that you should value!"

When I obsess over a character, I unconsciously start acting like them. This can consist of me copying their mannerisms, habits, or personality I guess.

Well, right now, I am obsessing over Abed from Community, so I've been copying his mannerisms such like his head and eye movements (like when he tilts his head in thought, which is something I already do but now I'm doing it in a more similar way), and I find this funny because he also acts like characters from his favourite shows/movies.

I’m watching Cobra Kai with my sister(she loves karate kid) and I kinda hate how the Eli might be autistic thing is never mentioned again. It’s wasted potential, really.

Eli starts as the trope of the nerdy, shy, smart autistic who gets bullied and then gets an entire corruption arc, becoming a bully while masking a lot. After that he starts a redemption arc but as for now still can’t fully accept himself.

It’s an interesting subversion, you don’t see a lot of autistic bullies on tv, if the writers were better and explored this idea a little further it could have been one of the best portrayals of autism in current media.

all day every day all i fucking think about is how neil perry and todd anderson’s story in dead poets society are mirror opposites. todd starts off as a shy, nervous kid who doesn’t think his words have any value, doesn’t think anyone cares what he has to say. on the other hand, when we meet neil, he’s enthusiastic, outgoing, and seemingly passionate about life. he does everything he can to include and accommodate todd. but by the end, todd has finally come out of his shell. he has friends. he can speak in front of the class. hell, he can even directly disobey a teacher’s orders, standing up on his desk to honor his former teacher. meanwhile, neil killed himself and didn’t even leave a note, presumably because he felt like his words didn’t matter. like nothing he could say would change anything anyway. like nobody would care what he did or didn’t have to say.
