I love the idea of Altair's hair starting to get long. Whether he just doesn't have time to cut it or he's trying to grow it out, it gets long. Altair is conventionally pretty as it is, but his slightly grown put hair multiples this by 10. The only problem is that due to a mixture of self-esteem issues and lack of social cues, he doesn't understand/know when someone is trying to flirt with him.
This becomes glaringly apparent when he has to go undercover at a party. His only job is to gather information, but he keeps getting crowded around by girls who keep touching his forearm and shoulders for some reason.
One of them is really forward and offers her bed for the night, and he short-circuits

Let me be insufferable again for I'm talking about anatomy in X-MEN. Why Sabretooth can't have both Hollywood smile and large fangs. And why vampires can't have them both as well.
Victor Creed's beautiful smile down here:
Tumblr media
And a picture of tiger's teeth
Tumblr media
Small kitty front teeth and large canines packed in sort of pockets between each other. When this poor tiger was alive and could open his mouth these pockets found be seen as just wide spaces between the group of small teeth and the huge fang. This space is called diastema and in this case it's purpose is to save some room for large teeth to be tucked cozy and comfy when the mouth is shut. Btw the crack between humans front teeth is a diastema too but it's just here for the sake of being here
But Victor doesn't have long pointy face like tigers, he's a handsome kitty man. Who's the closest to look like a man but still has large canines? Chimps. Here's the comparison between a human jaw and a chimpanzee's jaw
And also 2 jaws of a chimpanzee, upper and lower
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have these fang diastemas and the human thing doesn't
What was it for? So basically Vic needs some room in his mouth to store these sexy gigantic fangs, and when he opens his mouth we can see that as him having some empty space between the groups of teeth. Otherwise it would hurt and lead to frictions and pressure that destroys the teeth and this wouldn't give him a chance to stay equipped for biting for 200+ years. Thanks for attention

I’m kind of tired of people thinking it was Haytham who wanted to connect with Ratonhnhaké:ton when it was the other way around. It was Ratonhnhaké:ton who did all the heavy lifting on that front.
Not saying Haytham had Absolutely No desire to connect with him but it’s like he gave up before he even tried. Sure he saved his life like, once iirc, but I don’t know what that means other than “I fucking guess I shouldn’t let my son die.” While Ratonhnhaké:ton is the one voicing his hopes for their partnership and believing Haytham could change at All. And while they both have moments of attempting to make the other see things from their perspective, I remember Haytham being incredibly dismissive and you can tell he thinks Ratonhnhaké:ton is just some stupid naive child, hence his bossing him around because he only sees himself as his father in the authority sense. (Also the racism) like Yeah it’s great when your long lost father spends the short time you had together chiding you and telling you you’re a fucking idiot for believing things can be better for the marginalized. Listen to his indoctrination propaganda boy.
Ultimately that’s what I think his whole “I made a mistake” phrase on his portrait meant. I never accepted that Ratonhnhaké:ton regrets killing Haytham and is a stupid sad boy about it like Forsaken wants you to believe. (also I’m certain that the phrase had multiple meanings as it was in the Kanien'kehà:ka language and not english) I think that it was 90% “I wasted time hoping this asshole would change” and 10% “I wish things could’ve gone different.”
But I don’t want to take away Ratonhnhaké:ton’s complex feelings about Haytham’s death, because he Does have them. He mourns him And what they could’ve had, more lost family after losing SO much. Almost every person I know that had one or two abusive parents still has some kind of love or hope for them despite the abuse. Even if they know they don’t deserve it. And if they happen to die they still somewhat mourn for them. This doesn’t change the damage they caused, but feelings are complicated and don’t always make sense.
Anyway, it’s just more people giving Haytham more credit than he deserves.

yusuf (son of the sea) — assassin's creed oc
(this oc is a persona of myself but as the son of altaïr and malik. for fun purposes ehe.)
backstory under the cut
cw: implied child abuse, violence
yusuf heralds from akka harbour in the middle district. he had a content and fulfilling childhood with his father (a sailor), mother, and two you ger siblings. however, when he was 7 his father got caught in a brawl with drunk sailors, thus causing a conflict that killed his family. yusuf survived because he was out fishing when it occurred.
as an orphan, he was thrown into an orphanage. the orphanage couldn't afford the upkeep and soon enough it was bought by a slaver who profited off child-brides. yusuf escaped again; he'd rather die in the streets than bound to gross men.
he was severely malnourished and cold when altaïr first found him. the master assassin just finished up a kill and was making his way home. altaïr wrapped him up in a thick scarf and offered some bread. when the assassin tried to take yusuf to an orphanage, yusuf slipped away. yusuf was not a master assassin, but he was small and quick—easily weaving in and out of crowds and wagons. it took altaïr an embarassing amount of time (an hour, longer than it should've taken him to hunt down a target) to chase down the child. at the end of it, altaïr was impressed enough that he brought yusuf along.
altaïr thought of taking yusuf to masyaf, then forgone it, and instead dropped him off without much explanation in jerusalem with malik (much to the da'i's shock, confusion, and annoyance) before he continued on his mission. malik was apprehensive at first and was about to leave yusuf in one of the orphanages in jerusalem if altaïr never return to pick up the child back. but yusuf was a nice company to have around (compared to most of the air-headed novices he had to face—the bar is low) while malik worked. the child was witty, blunt, and reminded malik of young altaïr there wasn't any formalities when yusuf got taken in by malik—he just was.
during his stay with malik, yusuf preferred to be referred as a boy or child and acted much like any other boy. yusuf was born and raised in his family as a woman, and whilst he was in the streets he didn't care much about how people view him than to survive. one day malik asked him—the da'i glanced at yusuf whilst keeping his hands on the open map before him—if yusuf would rather be identified as a man or a woman. yusuf replied that he (is) very much a boy without looking up from his needlework (he was stitching his torn pants). malik nodded and that was that.
years later, when yusuf was of age; malik took it upon himself to unearth a merchant who sold medicines for men ailed with impotency. the da'i upheld his reputation as the most feared rafiq with the exchange. since then, yusuf has had no problems with getting his (gender-affirming) medicines regularly.
then al-mualim happened and altaïr rose up as a grandmaster. yusuf stayed with malik in jerusalem until he was of age to become a novice. until that time, altaïr would visit jerusalem regularly to check in on his ward and his friend—and to escape the unbearable stuffiness that is grandmaster work. altaïr taught yusuf how to hone his strength in stealth and agility. malik taught him how to read and write. during this time, they discovered yusuf was nearsighted due to him being severely malnourished in the past (and it also stunted his growth). but yusuf was able to hid it for so long since he had been using his second vision to cover up for his nearsightedness. (altaïr was rather delighted to find someone else sharing his trait. they bonded over their shared dislike of people labeled as enemies in their eagle vision).
they keep this strange bonding activity far off into yusuf's adulthood. they sit together and view into their second vision to ruminate over people. malik would scold both of them if he catches them in the act, saying that it's impolite and dishonourable. but after one attempts too many on altaïr's well-being, he understands the need. and sometimes, he'll sit with them and ask for names. altaïr has learned how to avoid dropping names to malik. yusuf hasn't—and the assassin isn't going to try and find out what malik will do (or has done) to them.
when yusuf became a novice, malik half-jokingly told yusuf to keep an eye on altaïr for him. and so he did; whilst he worked under the tutelage of the mentors, he would check in (read: harass) on altaïr in his study. while yusuf was not the brightest novice; he kept altaïr sane and feeling human enough through the trials of leadership.
yusuf eventually finishes his training as an assassin (not master assassin). altaïr oversaw his hidden blade initiation personally out of fondness. he has no intent of becoming a mentor, and so he takes his time to loiter around masyaf and jerusalem to keep an eye for both of his pseudo-fathers. taking up available missions or errands to run without caring for ranks.
he excels in stealthwork and free-running. to deal with his eyesight, yusuf tends to find viewpoints from the highest landmark first to check with his second vision before dealing with his target. contrary to his fathers, yusuf's swordmanship is minimum. he avoids conflict when he can, and prefers to escape (by running or blending in) or stealth-kill when facing enemy soldiers.

So I found these Jace Beleren Hot Pockets at the store and I don't actually want them but I think that it would be weirdly in character for Jace to have a really specific pizza order like this. Philly steak and specifically reduced fat mozzarella cheese with peppers, onions, and sauce on a seasoned crust.
My dad thought he was from Assassin's Creed and that made me think about how Jace's powers would actually make him really good at assassinating people, actually, and now the cashier probably thinks I'm unhinged. Which is, y'know, fair.
Also after leaving the store I realized that the reason I think it would be in-character for him to have a really specific pizza order is that I think it would also be in character for him to be autistic. As an autistic person myself, my own sensory weirdness manifests in such a way that I dislike complicating food, so my pizza order is actually quite simple, but I can conceive of how a differently autistic person could instead have a list of particular characteristics of pizza that they like.
The cashier's hypothetical opinion of me was correct. I am officially unhinged.

When I finished Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, I realised it was my 22nd platinum trophy. I had planned on finally earning the platinum trophy for Dragon Age: Inquisition this summer. But wouldn't it be nice, I thought, if it was the 25th?
In 2018, my friend sold me his PS4 after upgrading to a Pro himself. He knew I was interested in gaming and so I didn't have to think twice. He sold it to me for £80 and threw in Dragon Age: Inquisition for good measure. So I'd have something to play. My very first Playstation trophy was The Wrath of Heaven - by finishing the prologue of the game.
For a couple of years now, I've had only one trophy left to earn - beat the game on Nightmare difficulty. I've been postponing it, not for fear of failing at it, but for fear of the finality it seems to imply. I will, of course, still be able to play the game, but I won't be able to earn any trophies for it any more. A sad thought.

You know what SHOULD have been my egg shattering moment?
Assassins Creed: Syndicate, The game that lets you play a brother & sister duo, and I would be so happy playing as the sister. And stopped playing it after I kept having to play the brother for specific missions.
Literally stopped playing it because it kept forcing me to be a guy......

I was listening to Assassins Creed Lorecast podcast and one of the hosts said this about Rebecca and Shaun when she find out they are married. “Sir, that is a bisexual and a lesbian”.
That is so real oh my god
But while we are here, I do actually wanna talk about why I think Shaun and Rebecca got married
Oh, so I would assume that within the assassins brotherhood, marriage is a HUGE deal. Due to how often they put their lives at risk, nobody really wants to date or get married because often times thosr end with one of them dying, so if you do, you must REALLY love each other to risk that. But Shaun and Rebecca aren't exactly the type to love each other in that sense, so why would they get married.
The short answer, they trama bonded and became so codependent on each other that it was basically their only option. I would imagine that after losing both Lucy and Desmond, along with the shit show that happened in the temple, they ended up with an extreme codependency and would freak out if they couldn't find the other while worrying about if they had died.
So, while they don't love each other romantically, a combination of trauma and ptsd is the reason they even got married in the first place

Anyone else recognize the feeling where you're enjoying a piece of media that feels like it should be a hyperfixation/special interest, but for some reason, it just... refuses to be?
Like, you love the media, and it feels like it's your "type", but your brain just won't get attached to it?

One of the best and worst things about autism is just how quickly I get attached.
Like if someone is reciprocal then know that you have a ride or die. Like if I’m attached you’re stuck with me like a stray cat you fed one time and won’t go away.
If someone does reciprocate it, it genuinely feels a bit like heartbreak. I’ve grown accustomed to unrequited affection (most autistic people do) but god it doesn’t change how much it sucks
