Human Slang/Texting
So people have probably put everything there is on this subject out there, but just imagine what texting must be like. There'll probably be some form of text communication in the future, and my assumption is that humans will have only continued to shorten words.
Human-Jeff: So yk about the thing we're doing later?
Glenörg: Yk?
Jeff: Yeah
Glenörg: What word is this?
Jeff: Yk = you know
Glenörg: I don't know
Jeff: ?
Glenörg: What question are you asking me?
And so on. This, but with all of the text shortenings. An alien texts a human something, human goes "lmao" or "lol," at this point no questions are asked because this has been accepted as "just another human thing.™️"

Gosh Beigoma & cooking battles took forever. ✒️ notes along the way. 112 heroes recruited so far!
Have you completed the game? #Eiyuden
112人仲間入り!後もうちょいかな〜
ベーゴマと料理大変だった😵💫but沢山研究して楽しい🤓✒️
クリアした方いるかな?
🚩降ろさな〜い♪ #百英雄伝
Also, they had to call the gator Hogan hehe🇦🇺 bizzo w
I may have taught English on NHk (Japanese TV).
I think the #EiyudenChronicle translation team did an awesome job🇦🇺
Bizzo/Arvo/Servo
We like our Os at the end.
‘Reckon’ I didn’t realise I used so often until a French person pointed it out.
So what d’ya reckon? #Aussie
Arvo —> afternoon
例. Servo —> service station
‘What did I tell ya?’

Alien translation software that learns English slang but doesn't realize that it's not "standard" English or the cultural context (like time) surrounding the slang and ends up with things like a diplomat saying "Warp drive is totes magoats the bee's knees, comrade!"

"Not an Australia fan in a Bluey way, but a Secret Alternative Option (sniper)"
"Australia is to me what Japan is to americans"

Here's a list of fun Australian-isms I've been collecting that I plan to sprinkle into my Aussie based fantasy story:
Chucking a wobbly
Bargey bum
Chin-wag
Going for a feed/have a feed
What a rip off
That's cooked
You'd better get a wriggle on
My dogs are barking (sore feet/toes)
Bloody beaut
Scarn on?
Cheeky mate
Flat out like a lizard drinking
Chook
Rock up
Tell him he's dreaming
Get decked
Karked it
Mad as a cut snake
#australia#australian#I'm writing them out when I hear them so I don't forget#sadly I've spent so much time isolated because of my cfs that a lot of my language has become Americanised#but I was also always language obsessed and read a lot so I never used a lot of slang to begin with#I can understand all of it though#such is the aussie way#Strahliana

Australian slang of the day: "to carry on like a pork chop."
E.g., "He was mad about his bill and started carrying on like a pork chop about it." It is a phrase that compares someone making a fuss, complaining, etc, to the sputtering of a pork chop when it meets the hot surface of a frying pan. It is a derisive and condescending way to dismiss someone's tantrum as a little embarassing moment rather than a complaint of substance.
Cf. "chucking a wobbly."

New Bluey episodes are available to the non-australian audience and, for those who don't know: sometimes, they makes changes in the dialogue. Either for """"ethical"""" reasons (lol) and sometimes for cultural/language differences. in the episode Relax, they changed one line. Scene: Bandit (the dad) parks the car, ready to get his family and himself in the resort they are going to.
In the american version, Bandit says "Alright, super troopers, let the holiday begin."
In the australian version, he uses a different word to talk about his children. In autralia, this word has a connotation that is refered to call someone an idiot, silly. Very often used in an endearing way.
he says "alright dingleberries"
which
if you know
is a word use to refer to a specific type of piece of poop..
I guess it's one way to have Bandit literally say "Alright you little shits, let the holiday begin."
