My Dream Girl Journey for August:

I want to get back to reflecting on my goals and dream girl/glow up journey every month (or every quarter). For now we will start for the month of August.

Daily Goals:

Meditate/EFT tapping for at least 10 minutes.

Read for at least 30 minutes (I’m in a little reading slump at the moment, but this should be doable in the meantime.)

Study for at least 1 hour (this is a must since I am in school.)

Study a language for at least 10 minutes.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes. (I just need to move my body. I don’t have to do heavy lifting and Pilates all 7 days of the week.)

Clean for at least 30 minutes.

Wake up no later than 10am.

Robotic affirming in the mirror.

Weekly Goals:

Journal to reflect on how my days and week are going.

Watch a TED Talk or a random course I have saved on Cousera.

Create a moodboard.

Set up weekly spread in bullet journal.

The doodles include some of my prime memories of college from the last two weeks. I tried to include some of my favourite songs of this month in a lil box you see there. The pictures are mostly in relation to stuff from around the campus. It's been a good month.

When it comes to embracing the shadows, I can see that this concept might confuse you, as you may not pay attention to the depth they carry as others would with precision and mindfulness. These cards are a reminder of the abundance you carry through life, material and immaterial, as they will serve as your tools, your resources, for the journey ahead. Take care in seeing this abundance as it will lie in places you wouldn't have even begun to think.

This journey is one of opposites, driven forward with precision, targeted action, you want to get things done and done well. You know how to use your skills, but perhaps embracing the shadows will be something new - something you have never faced before. This journey will be emotional, nurturing the depths of yourself and the more vulnerable parts of yourself that you had at some point in your youth, pushed to the side more carelessly. There is an immaturity that needs your attention, and you will gain the wisdom and knowledge you seek through self-growth and development. We all must start at the bottom, in a sense of ignorance and lack of understanding, but this journey will show much to you that you lacked to see before.

August feels. Blurry. The Thursday of the year. Of the summer? IT feels like the year. I managed to fill out my entire Summer Bingo Board for the library. I haven't heard back about winning any prizes, but I had fun and that's what counts. Bingo made me branch out of my comfort zone which was really neat. Can't say I'll do it more often, a comfort zone is comfortable, but I do enjoy reading something Different every now and then. Did some crafty things this month, which has been a lot of fun, and I've been Smart and Wise and started on holiday gifts so I'm not scrambling in December. It's called personal growth~

The Bone Season: Tenth Anniversary Edition by Samantha Shannon ⭐⭐ - I'm salty about this. Yes, it's an improvement, but it still sucks. The world and magic is so neat, but we're stuck with a plot Like That. Made me do an actual full review on goodreads and on tumblr if you want all the details.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon ⭐⭐- I kept my original rating because honestly I felt the same as I did years ago. It's worse than the updated version, but it's the core of the novel that needs changing. Props to this one at least for making Paige asexual. I do not want to see this book on ace book lists ever again.

The Adventure Zone: The Suffering Game by The McElroys and Carey Pietsch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- One of the best installments so far. The art is AMAZING, I love the meta they're doing with Griffin and The Hunger, it was a little rushed and I'm bummed we aren't getting a full adaptation of The Stolen Century, but this is still right up there with Petals to the Metal for me!

The Hollow Places by T Kingfisher ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - T Kingfisher has never written a bad novel to me, but this one did take me longer than her others to really click. The audio narrator had some inflections that didn't work for my brain, but once they went through the door, things got Weird and picked up. These two made so many stupid decisions, but it still felt in character! Big Stan Pines energy coming from that uncle.

Frostbite: How Refrigeration Changed Our Food, Our Planet, and Ourselves by Nicola Twilley ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - For book bingo! Got me a square for Read Nonfiction, Read Something About The Environment, and Read Something You Found from Book Page (a magazine advertising new and upcoming books). AND it had a local connection. I learned a lot, it was really neat and didn't feel like I was reading a textbook. It was very engaging, and has me looking at grocery stores differently. It was hard to find, though, because Frostbite is a very common name in the urban fantasy romance genre.

The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Oof. Very heavy, very creepy, very GOOD. Did not expect the many graphic dog deaths, but that was on me. Technically I WAS warned, my brain just didn't register "SGJ dogs are not safe" as "The dog dies in this one". The audio narrator was very good, but I had to listen to the opening a couple times to really get everything to click. It might've been easier had I" read it myself, but the cadence of the narrator really added to the story.

The Last Heir to Blackwood Library by Hester Fox ⭐ - Wow when was the last time I had a true one star read. (Actually not too long ago. It was The Novice.) This wanted so badly to be The Haunting of Hill House, but if you want another book like Hill House, just read Starling House. We missed what actually happened in the book because the main character was losing her memory. If you want that, go read Harrow the Ninth. This was a mess and I hated it.

On that note, I need to read something to recharge my faith in books, so MURDERBOT TIME! That's my only reading plan for September, but now I'm feeling Rushed because the year is almost over and I still have about half of my reading goals list left. Whoops. I'd also like to at least attempt some of the Swordtember prompts, if not do all of them. That looks like a lot of fun! So! Onward we go!

I feel like I have so much to process right now and I really have no clue how to. I finished my entire university degree last week on a random Tuesday. Submitted my final assessment and it's over. Next week I'm going to Scotland with my boyfriend, which is a huge trip from Australia. I think I'm both nervous and excited but sometimes I just feel like I'm in denial about how soon it is.

Liam Payne's death has been a confusing blow to my psyche. I was never a hardcore One Direction fan - more of a casual enjoyer of their music and their chemistry as a band - but in the last few weeks since he died I've watched about a million One Direction videos and I think I'm all in now. The timing is awful and every time I smile or laugh I feel this kind of strange sadness tug at my heart.

And as if all of that wasn't enough, I'm anxiously waiting to find out if the US will have its first female president. Nothing good can come from that man winning.

Hi! My name is Pax and I’m receiving hate messages since I started posting art of my favorite character from Blue Exorcist.

At first it was only on twitter. I started posting around a year ago and then people sent me messages like how they hate Arthur. I wasn’t used to be part of a fandom so I thought it was kinda normal. I just blocked the people and yes it became calmer after that. Then it started on tumblr too. I love to get questions where I can draw something in return but I also got anon questions that are just rude or weird. Luckily you can block anons too but somehow they always come back to me after a small amount of time and tbh idk what I do wrong.

I am ignoring, deleting and blocking those all the time. Don’t get me wrong I really don’t care much but saying stuff like I’m a pedo is WRONG just because I have a child OC. I’ve never drawn him in any romantic way and I’ll never do. I don’t even think about that. Why should I? OCs are often like own children and my oc Kingo is like my own son. He was originally created for a roleplay where Arthur decided to adopt him after a lot of things happened to him. They are only father and son and they love each other because Arthur is trying to be a really good dad like he always trying to do his best with no matter what he do. The point is Kingo became my OC after I got the diagnosis that I’d never be able to get own children after trying it for 4 years. It was my dream even if a lot of people couldn’t imagine how important it can be for a woman who really wants this. I build a house where everything should be safe for my future child. Getting this result of all my tests and my health conditions was a shock I’ll never get fully over it even if I pretend. My relationship broke after 8 years and I never felt so useless.

This is the reason why I created my OC Kingo. Not because I am a pedo or something wtf. It was because I found consolation in having a fictional son and that he has a family that cares about him. Thats why Kingo will always be a very special OC and I get very emotional when it comes to him.

I know I don’t need to explain myself and who the fuck is gonna read that text hmm but yes. Stop hating me I just wanna do art. Nothing more. You’re annoying go out and do something nice instead of hating each other ✨
