Do you believe in God?
i hold the unusual and controversial belief that it doesn’t really matter if god exists or not

If it’s so easy for us to believe in the “universe” why is it so hard to believe in God? If we can easily personify the universe by believing that it speaks to us, guides us, and determines our fate, why do we have such a hard time believing that there is an intimate God who created all things, a God who speaks to us, a God who desires to know us, a God who loves us, and a God who holds our very lives in the palm of His hand? How is it that we can be so quick to give glory to the creation and not to the Creator Himself? Why is it so hard for us to simply believe?

The Woman by Kayla Renee
Tumblr media
Asleep I fall deep into the tunneled abyss
Sometimes I meet the serpent
Upon him I place a plotted kiss
He believes me to be a servant
It's poison-power- control
Upon me he placed the crown
Queen of Hell- All behold
Its ruins my battleground
I raise storms as an addiction
They sing so splendidly
If one were to question my ambition
I'd say I played the Devil- exceptionally
When dealing with the snake
His pain you shall dissect
it is certain he will shake
and of his world- you'll be its architect
A man emotionally devoid
Who believes he understands
One always bordering on paranoid
But can't you see? Your kingdom is in my hands

To Pucci: As a fellow Christian, do you believe that people who demonstrate the 7 Deadly Sins are not worth being around, and therefore are people who must be punished?
Of course not. They simply need to see the grace of God, and repent for their sins.

Living in the country is kind of shit, but there's a lot of things to love about it. You can do things like blowing up a ripe watermelon with fireworks, target practice at shampoo bottles, walk miles in cotton fields, and have your thoughts drowned by cicadas crying. I can run a few minutes to pet someone's cow, and keep some chickens in a little coop, and they run towards me when they hear me come outside, knowing I'm going to throw them scraps of some spoiled thing that would've gone to waste, otherwise. There's a bunch of abandoned, hobbled buildings made of dirty siding and metal sheets, and I get to wonder about what they used to be while they poke out as complete eyesores everywhere you turn. If I wander into the woods far enough, I can find a hunter's hideaway in the trees to climb into while deer are out of season. It doesn't matter that my car's paint is all chipped and ugly- so is everyone's. It gives people the false impression I'm a hard worker, eyeing the trailer hitch I've got attached to the rear. I'm not, really. I'm just too broke to really do anything about it, but I like the sentiment- smile and nod, smile and nod. There's churches on every corner, and I can remember when I used to run around their halls and hideaways after services with people I don't talk to anymore. I'd twist myself into all sorts of contorted poses, wedged between pipes and in cupboards where no one would find me, winning me hide-and-seek games a few times. We'd burn holes in the asphalt with chemicals that could probably melt our skin, and make bonfires. We'd go out and wade into the creeks, slip and bust our asses. We'd stare into the underbrush at night, hear rustling, and wonder what was staring back at us. People are loud and friendly here. It hurts that some of those same folks want me and mine dead, or at least to shut up and sit down- "think about the economy for once," or what have you. I can't ever let most of them truly know me, but they make some of the best biscuits that I'll probably ever find anywhere. Living out here has plenty of things I'd miss if I were elsewhere, but damn if I wish things were different.

Embracing Vulnerability
What triggers feelings of vulnerability and how do you react or respond to these feelings?
To my understanding, feeling vulnerable means to feel exposed. So when I feel exposed and vulnerable, I believe I tend to get a bit defensive - or at least that's how I've been told I come across. I put up artificial walls since my natural ones are knocked down. I have never really given much thought to how I react or respond to feeling vulnerable, but I suppose that is my reaction: to put up a wall.
The more I think about this, the more I realize that it is definitely okay to put up walls, it's just not okay to be a dick about it. Just because I am defending myself doesn't mean I need to react defensively toward others who may not have any idea what I'm going through. I need to be considerate of others during my own moments of vulnerability. It is a good time to practice self-awareness.

Kind of hope when I start actually putting my webcomic out people make theories about Luci being supernatural because she has big canines. I will be really annoyed if this happens but I know Luci would want that. So

The Flames Rise in June by Kayla Renee
Tumblr media
I feel the flames rise in June
Cutting deep as gashes from a razor
All the fire I eat- I consume
I spit upon our "maker"
So many still confined- so blind
Bring enlightenment with the rain
A tragedy to look upon mankind
Can chaos be contained?
I swim in the sea of the unseen
A new world I'll pursue
One without a king or queen
Man's work I will undo

i understand the critique of philosemitism and idealized understandings of judaism on the internet but it feels more like you're leading a smear campaign against converts than actually critiquing. the bit about athiest converts just being philosemites feels particularly vile. you can be religiously jewish without believing in god. athiest jews that were born jewish aren't necessarily just jewish for the culture and athiest jewish converts aren't necessarily philosemites either. examine your takes before you say them maybe
i dont think posting a bit about this on my blog is a smear campaign tbh
and for that im asking a genuine question, like if youre not born jewish, were not raised with judaism or jewish anything, are an atheist- why are you converting- why judaism specifically if you dont believe in it- like what gives. not you specifically but why would one do this. how is it not philosemitism

Dude, I am sick of seeing Anarchist Blogs being Anti-Theistic. At one point I was an anti-theist, but now I realize that the problem isnt religion, the problem is the weaponization of religion by authority.
As an Athiest I believe that religion and spirituality are created by humans, and as such I see someones spiritual beliefs as a reflection of themself, their lives and their material conditions. Religion and spirituality are not whollistically bad.
