#Day 253#2 Hours 8 Minutes#For years I've wondered about how to ensure people of very dark skin could have lineart work#And I had several theories#I hoped that someday someone would give the answer as a tutorial but I never seen one#So I quick tested several concepts out#I made sure to do this out in the sun to be sure I could still see the lineart clearly in such conditions#The top middle one is me trying to render a bit normally#Because a full render will make it readable like how pics of real people read fine#And then I have a point of comparison of seeing if the flats/simple renders match the feeling of that level of darkness#I also drew the lines as thin as I'm able to be sure it wasn't just my Thick line style that was permitting it to read#So here's about my results#The lighter colors of the skin have two flavors. Reflected light and light impacted by blood#So forehead vs cheeks in this image you can see it best on the render#So I was checking if the cool vs warm vibed more as this person etc in the flats#I consider the jaw to be the mid tone since it seems least impacted by light#But idk if that's how everyone would view it#I tried to see if relative color could make her appear darker as well#But yeah I know the drawing is a bit gunched but I was nyooming#Relying on sunlight is part of it but I can't remember my state of mind#on my desktop monitor my render looks so baaaad#But on tablet when I turn brightness to full (which I do to check that it works on desktops) it seems fine?#Just how bad are my monitor settings...

i saw an abba cover band tonight and honestly most of the performance was spent imagining what im sure is some absolutely insane interpersonal drama
#the performance was. fine the band carried it though#I JUST WORK IN ARTS AND CULTURE AND NOW IM A SNOB. I WORK IN A THEATER AND IN A LIVE MUSIC VENUE SO I HAVE OPINIONS.#their mixing was. strange right at the top one of the singers was clearly not getting enough of her own vocals in her monitor#FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY? HAZE NOTICE?? NOTHING????#so her voice sounded really strained. which is something they should have fixed in soundcheck.#she slayed at the winner takes it all though ill give her that#this has just turned into me complaining but whatever#one guy on acoustic guitar who was doing The Least#the keys guy was pretty good#the other singer was. fine#the musicians though they really killed it theyre clearly insanely talented#and i just. why abba covers? i mean power to you chase your bliss and all that but they were clearly professionals and Really Fuckin Good#NO PRESHOW ANNOUNCEMENT EITHER. HOW LONG IS THE SHOW? IS THERE AN INTERMISSION? WHERE ARE YOUR EMERGENCY EXITS?#also i was a bit grumpy bc my voice is too low for a lot of abba :( and im not good enough to just. match the key or harmonize on the spot#except for the 'super trouper' bits i can do those#my tags are out of order and i cant fix them. goodnight.

well... my wife has blood clots in her lungs again
#we spent all of sunday evening and monday at the hospital#I had to go home because they didn't have space for me so I couldn't stay there this night#now I'm just sitting here quietly going insane#she's fine and stable they have her on a blood thinner iv drip but I'm still just like.. in shock#everything went much smoother and less openly transphobic than last time and she actually got the meds she needed instead of just ibuprofen#It's just fucking awful to have to go through again#at least there's no dead/necrotized lung tissue this time#the clots just got exceedingly close to her heart which is why they have her on 24/7 heart monitoring at the cardiovascular department rn#I'm just having hard time keeping it together alone...

My new monitor came in today & my desktop computer is up & running! Currently working on getting BG3 downloaded
Also, with this new computer I should be able to start streaming again >:3
#tmi#watching my friend logan stream has made me miss streaming#i mostly did art streams but occasionally games too#also this monitor screen is HUGE. like. double my laptop screen. so much spaaaaaaace#the keyboard that came with the desktop is kinda crappy though. some of the keys don't work (the left shift & enter & 6. the right shift &-#-numpad keys work fine though. it's just annoying to not use the left shift & i have to use the numpad enter)#at least all i'm waiting on for my mechanical keyboard is the switches... which will take a couple weeks to get here ._.

It’s funny but it shouldn’t be that when I was going to have my gonad biopsy last year I was super paranoid they would take them out anyways and so like. Wrote it down and told them multiple times that they could not take them out at that point. So that if they did I could sue them and pay for university at least.
#It was fine my gynaecologist is relatively ok with intersex things#She did pressure me to get them out but at least when I refused she actually went and read up#On best monitoring things#And went to a talk about it at a conference#I do have some apprehension about seeing doctors about CAIS because of the history#Of lying and abuse#But at least I can trust she wouldn’t do that#intersex

Sorry if updates and posts are slow, I'm taking antidepressants for the first time and it's complicating things (I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN ADHD MEDS SO I MAY BE LESS DEPRESSED THAN USUAL BUT I STILL CAN'T FOCUS 😭)
#antidepressants#they make me feel weird#I'm actually taking a smaller dose than I'm supposed to because otherwise I'd be sleeping all day#dw everything is being monitored by doctors#I'm fine#i think#the hallucinations delusions and paranoia haven't left me but like at least I'm not as anxious anymore????
