They are so close and yet so far way from each other!#Fundamentally they *agree* about many things - but JC now has to play the role of someone more 'mature'.#His temper is reigned in and he had to take a more nuanced approach. Whereas WWX can be far more reactionary.#JC has changed to become someone more mature (or at least he is trying).#Contrast this attitude with the scene *right* after where WWX literally goes baby mode with JYL. Rolling around going “I'm Fwee years old”.#When children are hurt we comfort them with hugs and warm food and a laugh. It's not enough when you're an adult. It's not simple anymore.#WWX is stuck in the past when everyone else is shifting and moving on! It's a depression allegory (and just...actual depression)#But we also get to see how some things have stayed the same. They still bicker about soup. They still tease. They are still together.#They all care for each other very much but they are struggling against trauma and are not equipped to talk about it.#You can't really blame WWX for being so protective over JYL. But JC is right: “You don't have a say in who she likes.”#It may have started as an arranged marriage but *she* is *choosing* what her heart wants. JC sees that. WWX cannot.#The final act of love is letting go after all.

Feel free to reuse this idea but 24 hours are not enough for me to finish an entire comic. I could have taken the simpler prompt but nOOOOOO timeloop is too tempting. Past me why are we like this

#svsss #shen jiu #yue qingyuan #qijiu #qijiuweek2024 #the basic idea for this was that both yqy and sj remember each loop #the loop started after their individual deaths in PIDW and resets them to close to disciple era #aka the time Yue Qi was in the caves and SJ presumably got away from the Qiu household or was already with Wu Yanzi #I imagine the first few loops they qi deviated so hard from the shock that they didnt even make it like 1 hour in the loop before beingrese #and then had a few loops just fucking around and finding out #eventually they realise that the other has the memories of all loops and so begins the talks and figuring how tf they can get out of this #maybe they resolve their issues with the promise or not your choice tbh #they try different plans and methods #but they keep dying (read: SJ keeps dying first and YQY either dies or sewerslides not soon after) and getting reset with no end in sight #until the last pages where the svsss timeline begins #SJ got replaced with SY and the system isn't letting YQY join him in death or smth nor letting him do anything about SY being there instead #And due to their closeness from being immensily tired from all the loops #YQY notices it immediately but can't do anything about it #the bonus for SY is that this timeline was very kind to LBH & co - 79 figured by now that keeping him in the sect and happy was their best #bet at staying alive - or well at least for longer #I'll continue this storyline in one of the future prompts of this qijiu week #btw the one with the cliff is just the whoopsie daisy timeline where SJ accidentally falls into the Abyss trying to keep LBH from falling i #79 had a bit of a good laugh about that one #cw death #cw violence #cw blood #cw angst

dandelion is indeed the worst but if he’s not present in the next book i would legitimately be sorrowful as the whole thing will become a slog . you basically cannot have the “short stories” era-of-the-timeline iteration of geralt without dandelion, it would be like eating unbuttered bread.

Just when I think the day's going well, I crash a golf cart

#summer camp tag #ace is a mess #i do not have a drivers license and i havent even been behind the wheel in like 4 years since i stopped lessons cus of the pandemic #the day was going fine i got loads done didnt feel like i was irritating my director too bad #doing some paperwork for her and she says when im done well take the golf cart out while its not currently raining #im like ooh fun never been in a golf cart before i see the higher up staff in them im not gonna say no to chilling in a golf cart #i did not realise that meant i would be driving esp when she asked if id been in one before and i said no #she then asked if i could drive and i said not really thought that would be it #cus i was supposed to be studying for my theory before working towards my practical #but no she insists im driving and first off i gotta reverse outta this bay now at least i didnt have to think about gears #but i hate tryna figure out how to turn whilst in reverse in mess with my brain im not great with shape visualisation #we do all our stops its fine for the most part a lil too fast going down some of the hills #and some tight turns but my turns were always like that cus im too busy focusing on the most immediate thing #we get back i park fine and then shes like oh actually there are some more stops we can make so i reverse and turn back out #do our two stops with only minimal confusion about direction then as i go to park into the bay we came from #shes like oh actually park in the bay closest to the health centre and what i should have done was reversed and adjusted my angle #instead i drove directly into the supporting beam separating the two bays 🙃😭#i immediately turn the cart off and expect her to switch with me instead shes like laughing it off oh it was just a little bump it was fine #im like it was not that was a loud ass bang i feel so bad and then she lifts up the light cover i broke off saying its just a scratch #and i feel worse so pf course thats when the camp director comes out to check on the noise and i dont think ive ever worn a guiltier look #but theyre both laughing it off oh just having a little driving lesson :) and i am mortified #she gets back in the cart and shes still insisting that its fine and i should still park after that which i do with great trepidation #but there are no more problems and the lights still work but the cover does need fixing and i just oh my god #ive never crashed before never clipped or scratched a car so of course id crash the golf cart trying to park of all things 😭

I actually like the last chapter. I think the ideas are very good. I have my qualms on how some things were managed, as I always do, but I think shonen authors get tangled in the expectations of a shonen to the point it jeopardises their writing, often even when they're not lacking in skills

#I think the nothingness‚ the absence‚ the moving on despite everything‚... is a good if heartbreaking idea #and we do see snippets of it throughout the entire manga‚ yet I think it is mostly lacking in execution #I like the quiet ways in which we see the characters mourn. How Megumi laughs at the letter‚#how Shoko muses about how Satoru should have let her take care of Geto's body‚ the faint smile when Megumi agrees‚#how Shoko quits smoking again‚ Yuuji giving this person hope and a second chance‚ making a reference to him not being executed‚#and giving Sukuna too a chance for him to take one day a different path #All those are very good ideas and all those are very moving quiet ways of grieving. But. It feels in general so lacking #There's so much of everything else in contrast‚ even things that have way less importance narratively than this most of the time‚#that it feels lacking. Especially with how one has to dig to find these things. There's so much that could have been done with the same idea #And done so much better. But the idea is good. The absences are good. The quiet presences are good.The nothingness is good if bitter and sad #But it could have been written better #I also think this ending with Yuuji apparently knowing about Sukuna‚ his lies‚ his little hint of softness‚ the potential second path‚...#makes even more believable why he'd try at all to offer him a second chance. And I love that Yuuji knows him and I love that he still...#leaves the door open for that second chance to occur at some point. He doesn't mimick Gojo in his power but in this flippant but caring aspect and thus he's not forgotten #I do like this. It's heartbreaking. Gojo's desire to be forgotten is bittersweet as it's in a way a desire for... normalcy and humanity #To be surpassed. It goes well with how Gege says Gojo can do anything and thus why he does nothing‚ not even hobbies‚#to leave something for the future generations and not being another wall in their achievements #Gojo's desire to be forgotten is in line with the constancy of his writing when it comes to being drunk on his status #and yet resentful of his loneliness. It's a mix of being left behind and not being left behind #For being left behind and forgotten would mean he is more like the rest. Just another step forwards #And he'd have done what he wanted to achieve. Sorcerers can't stop a long while to grieve but Yuuji takes his words and actions #into consideration and steps forwards. Does the same. Fulfills Gojo's expectations. Walks towards the future. And that's the legacy Gojo #wanted and not going down in history as a legend or the strongest. He was just a teacher. Like Yaga was. He was not even the principal #Just a teacher. His role‚ the role he chose for himself‚ has been fulfilled. Now all this could have done way better #Something of Yuta and Megumi given their dynamics with Gojo would have been good. But I guess Gojo's 'at least one' works well #with Yuuji being the one doing the work. Yuuji was also ontologically alienated since birth and still he too remained cheerful and flippant #despite being so lonely so I guess the final parallel is intentional. But it could have been managed better still. The idea is good though

cackling at the way klaus was so nice to and fond of lucien in the 1000s, it's actually weirdly adorable and entertaining. his exasperated sigh and him being like "lucien bestie your rage against me is pointless you know I'm a vampire stop trying to stab me" is taking me out

#lucien got so excited he was like “omg!!!! I'm a vampire now!!” And then got stabbed 30 seconds later #it is making me cackle like they were just himbos before they were homicidal maniacs #to rewatch lb #anna watches tv #klaus being Normal and Stable in the 1000s is making me laugh as well #1000 years really does a lot to a person doesn't it (at least in the fictional tvdverse)#i mean if u live that long i assume it would? i can understand why the mikaelsons stopped caring about morals #tbh that would sound like such a stupid concept if i was a 1000 year old vampire i would also stop caring about anything #the originals #klaus mikaelson #lucien castle
