#l'homme qui rit #the man who laughs #victor hugo #gwynplaine #artwork #i have been putting off attempting to draw the house of lords scene for ages because rochegrosse did it so perfectly already (the drawing #from which my icon is taken) but i decided that if i went with a dramatically different composition i might be less intimidated #which worked i think! i mean the composition isn't as different as i initially intended but i didn't feel like i was attempting a very #inferior replication of the rochegrosse illustration whilst i was drawing it at least #please appreciate that i drew every line in the background by hand. sometimes i take shortcuts but for whatever reason i did not this time #i have to confess that this is also pretty much a self-portrait given how heavily i referenced my own face. i havent posted a picture of #myself in ages but this is pretty much exactly what i look like these days (although my mouth is different. gwynplaine has no lips but i do #for those of you who havent read the book he manages to briefly suppress his smile in this scene which is why he looks different (and also #why i accidentally made him look exactly like me. i mean i usually reference my own face but it's not as obvious when he is wearing his #usual expression)#dont read into any of this too much prithee. thank you kindly #anyway :D i hope you are all doing well my friends i love you all very much

#i wanted to draw the other guardians too but this would be a good start #ok so #tsuna starts his band. yamamoto bass and gokudera keys and tsuna suprisingly drummer and also lead vocal. reborn appears out of nowhere-#being “youre not your full potential so i will drain you till youre like a fish in a dehydrator until you become the best out there.”#thats about it #but i just like how drumming singers are like extremely good music people because drumming is already hard. and singing too???#absolutely insane i might say. tsuna would do this (bc reborn told him so)#he does not want to be the best but reborn exists in the paro for a reason #reborn is like maybe a famous musician who faked his death then did whatever he wanted to do while he was “alive”. then he got tsuna as his #apprentice and so so. oh yeah also whiplash (the movie) reference bc holy shit its so good. for me at least. and reborn would make tsuna go #that kind of crazy. like training until drenched in sweat from morning to night or whenever hes available. bc he knows he has potential #he just need someone to push him beyond his expected limit #btw 8059 implied #gokudera joined the band first bc yeah then comes yamamoto for fun as he had to rest from playing baseball a bit too enthusiastic #gokudera hated him so much for like being dumb??? dandelion is indeed the worst but if he’s not present in the next book i would legitimately be sorrowful as the whole thing will become a slog . you basically cannot have the “short stories” era-of-the-timeline iteration of geralt without dandelion, it would be like eating unbuttered bread.

though it’s not like season of storms did them dirty, i wasn’t disappointed with it (… with regards to them), but since it’s literally been over 20 years since the saga was finished i’m trying to prepare for any potential reality

sometimes pecco pops his pussy so hard that i’m like wow you really are 3 time world champion! other times he decides to go play in the gravel when leading and i remember that he scored 0 points in his moto3 rookie season

when the commentary during the sprint was like 'you know, he could have been on five consecutive race wins now if he hadn't crashed out of the catalunya sprint on the last lap', I had to laugh because that's the pecco bagnaia experience right there isn't it. even when he's winning four races in a row, a part of your brain is still remembering the disaster that directly preceded it. when he got that track limit warning, I was convinced he was gonna mess it up. not because it's something he usually messes up, because it isn't - just because you're always waiting for something to go wrong and that seemed as good an opening as any. but no, apparently he's just in the bit of the season where he wins stuff. for whatever reason. or maybe he'll crash on sunday. who knows
