maybe the way I see it is that Romana is in some ways Narvin's one great love of his life. maybe not his truest, that would be Leela because his love for Romana is so tangled up in his foundational love for Gallifrey, but the greatest love of his life and the only one who can be described as such. but he's not Romana's greatest love. she might not have one or she might have more throughout the course of her lives. if anyone it's probably Leela. but Narvin is her truest love, whatever that may mean.

You’re so right about Jason being way too into a cat and mouse with Oracle. There would be so much picking and prodding at her to get her to come out and play until she finally catches him. If you were writing them would you include her past relationship with Grayson? Would she be older than Jason or would you retcon her age? Would they know who the other was or is their identity a secret to each other until it is revealed?

if I go with my idea of setting it during the last year or so of the lost days era, barbara is still dating dick, albeit seemingly in the last throes of their relationship which. is definitely an interesting set-up lol. also barbara as oracle can get really flirty with whoever she's communicating with; it often doesn't mean anything buuuuuut. with her relationship falling apart... aldskafsjdf xD

I definitely would keep her older than jason. I'm less fixated on her age than I am with other characters, especially since she apparently graduates early and that gives her life experience above her other partners, but I usually like her to be at least a few years older than dick. around talia's age, ironically lol. like, if we go with a dick that's, say, 4 years older than jason, barbara is at least 6, maybe 8 years older. so during that time I picture jason as 19-20, and barbara as 26-28.

I only have the vaguest details of an idea, but what I have could significantly alter the last issue of lost days, in terms of changing and even cancelling any plans jason could have about returning to gotham and confronting bruce. among other things this might translate to jason NOT having A Persona, not like does in the comics, albeit barbara would have no idea about who he is (because why would that be the conclusion where she immediately jumps? eventually she'd figure it out, but at first she wouldn't know there's something to figure out beyond "guy must have a name" and jason's identity, fingerprints etc. was completely scrubbed by the bats). at first jason would have no clue about hers either, though I kind of like the idea of jason finding out first, maybe due to some comment that reminds him of something barbara said in the past? it's a complete accident and a shock to his system.

I think this would happen circa/before lost days #6 (and precipitate those alterations regarding it), and he'd need to completely disengage for at least a few months, maybe up to a year. I'm talking full radio silence while barbara is chasing after hints of this anti-hero frenemy of hers because she needs to know what he's up to, like she needs to know what everyone's up to lol. AFTER jason has dealt with some of his shit (not all, he's full of it <3), the cat and mouse games can continue, and here, knowing who's at the other side, he would up his jerry-ness (it's just how he flirts).

please king i’m so bored can i get some quick read book recs

i am so bad at book recs it is UNREAL on account of i have only started to read for fun again in the past like. year and a half? before then i didn’t have time because i had to read so much for school. here’s a list of things i’ve read and would recommend since suddenly having free time circa april.

1. read dune with me. it’s not quick or maybe even fun but do it

2. the fifth season by NK Jemisin. it’s a bit longer, but it only took me about four hours so I think you’d be fine. It’s a really good sci-fi dystopian book about a woman trying to find her daughter during the apocalypse, made me cry multiple times.  I love second person so much. 

3. South to America by Imani Perry. This is nonfiction, it’s a travelogue really about What’s Going On in the American South, the diversity of cultures and experiences, and how its complicated and ugly racial history manifests itself in different ways i various regions. I don’t think I’m selling this book well enough it is INCREDIBLY written, it’s the one I made all my family read whenever they asked me what I was researching, i really liked it.

4. everyone is telling me to read this is how you lose the time war because it’s a quick read. it’s next on my list so I haven’t gotten to it but worth checking out i think.

5. rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead. this one is a play set within hamlet about the two least important characters and how they’re trapped in the narrative, and are only vaguely aware of this at any given time. i LOVE this one i am constantly talking about it plays within plays SWEEP

the tip of the iceberg:

the young veins:

this is the band that ryan and jon started after they split from panic! it included a few other members, and often times ryan’s good friends z berg and alex greenwald (of phantom planet), who will be mentioned more later on. they only released one album in 2010, called take a vacation! they played some live shows, but at the end of that same year, they went on an indefinite hiatus. HOWEVER, they made an official instagram account and have been active this year!! it’s likely that it's because there will be vinyl repress (further supported by a comment jon left on their only post) but it’s super cool nonetheless [i].

this is a personal aside, but i honestly like this band more than anything panic! released post split, with the exception of new perspective and the calendar. like god this was such a good fucking band.

dottie, elwood, and hobo:

these were all ryan’s dogs.

hobo was the dog he got in 2006. however, when he and keltie (we will discuss her soon) broke up, she took her with her [ii].

dottie was a dog he got circa 2015.

elwood is the dog he got in 2017.

i’m not sure if ryan still has dottie and elwood since he has pretty much disappeared from the internet.

z berg:

this is one of ryan’s exes and his bestie. they dated around 2009/2010. they still hang out today and he’s made appearances at these events she does called proms. she gives us the majority of ryan content that we’ve gotten in the past few years.

he featured on one of her songs, “the bad list,” and she featured of the young veins cover of “nothing matters but you.” she will come up more in other entries as well, which is why i'm not going super in depth here.

throam:

whew.

this is a ryden fic – probably the most iconic after the milk fic – called the heart rate of a mouse, written by anna green. it was originally posted on livejournal, and it’s LONG, coming in at 3 volumes and over 500k words.

the plot summary is that in the 1970s, ryan is the lead singer/guitarist of a famous band called the followers, and brendon is a roadie on their tour. brendon is openly gay, and ryan and brendon start hooking up, even though ryan is “straight.” from there, the series becomes 3 volumes of angst and pining. of course, there’s so much more that happens, but i won’t say too much for the sake of spoilers.

despite it being a ryden fic, it’s incredibly well written (if you’re able to get past the explicit smut), so i do recommend reading it at least once in your life. i’m gonna keep it 100, i’ve read this series at least 10 times with a yearly reread and have physical copies of it.

anna also wrote some ficlets to go along with it, such as one from brendon’s pov and just some extra stuff that didn’t end up in the final cut. she also wrote a lot of other iconic fics (all of which i also recommend), like the black rose season, how a resurrection really feels, posing in a ballroom, miguel sanchez’s grand slam of love, amongst many, many others. sadly, she purged her entire livejournal account, so you would have to turn to internet archives to read anything other than throam [iii].

unfortunately, this fic also reached the icon status that the milk fic did so multiple people from the bandom sphere know about it and have acknowledged it. for example, keltie, ryan’s ex-girlfriend, has read it and mentioned it on twitter multiple times (embarrassing for her but whatever) [iv]. jon tweeted about it once [v]. also, i swear that vicky t from cobra starship mentioned it (i wanna say it was on instagram, but i could be wrong); however, i can’t find the comment she made anymore.

jac and keltie:

these are two of ryan’s exes from the panic! days.

jac vanek was a scene queen in the early 2000s, and they dated from november 2005 until feburary 2006 [vi]. it was a pretty cringey teenage relationship that was overly (grossly) chronicled on livejournal, and if you’re interested to read more, there will be a link in a later tier.

an interesting tidbit is that while ryan was dating jac, brendon was dating another scene queen named audrey kitching, which will also come up later in this iceberg.

keltie knight (née colleen) and ryan started their relationship in august 2006 after meeting at the vmas, where panic! was performing and keltie was a backup dancer (she was a rockette). he was 19 and she was 24, which may not seem like a big deal, but it definitely played into some power dynamics in their relationship. for example, in keltie’s book, she says she often had pay ryan's bills for him. also in her book, she stated that he didn't take their relationship seriously, leading him to propose to her and asking her to move in (maybe he wasn't taking it as seriously as you because he was barely in his 20s keltie just a thought). they broke up in 2009 right before the split. we’ll touch on that again later. there is honestly so much more that i could say about this relationship/keltie, but some of it will be covered in this iceberg and the rest will be linked along with the jac info.

sun and moon:

another ryden entry. this refers to a theory about ryan and brendon about which one is considered the moon, and the other is the sun; it’s based on their personalities, like who embodies which more. polar opposites and all that. when ryden was still relevant, who is the moon vs who is the sun was a hotly debated topic (ryan is the moon, while brendon is the sun is the only correct answer).

this also loosely tied into some lyrics from panic and their solo music. for example, when the day met the night is often referenced in relation to this theory, although this song is definitely about keltie [vii]. also, in 2014 ryan wrote lonely moonlight, which also could refer back to this theory and kind of calls back to the lyrics in when the day met the night [viii]. however, this song is most likely about keltie too, if not another past relationship (not brendon).

dead end kids club:

this is a band/touring project that ryan was part of, including z berg, dan keyes, and the band palm springsteen. it was first announced in july, 2019. later that same year, they went on tour, hitting 8 cities for fall balls. this was referred to as the “1st annual” but….[ix]

in 2020, they released a song called lonesome town that featured a lot of videos from fans [x]. also that year, palm springsteen was accused of assault, which dekc posted a couple of statements about on twitter, here and here, stating that they had been removed from the project “a long time ago” [xi]. they pretty much disbanded after that and haven’t been active since october 2020.

livejournal:

iconic. livejournal (aka lj) was basically tumblr before tumblr existed. similarly, it could be used as a personal blog, a place to post rpf fic, an emo poetry hub, a photo album, etc. it’s on this iceberg because ryan was very prolific on livejournal, under the username i_amclandestine, and it’s essentially where panic! got its start. ryan made contact with pete wentz through lj, sending him the early demos, which lead to pete signing them and then cue domino effect to a taylor swift song.

anyway, ryan made many iconic posts on there, some of which will be addressed directly in this iceberg, but i will leave a link to an archive of his lj account for further viewing. he made his last post in june of 2006, but he deleted the account in july of that year after receiving a spam of hate. at the same time, brendon changed his (part_time_lovah) to friends only [xii].

ryan and spencer childhood besties:

ryan and spencer became friends when they were around 5 or so years old, which was always the saddest part of the 2009 split to me. ryan and spencer were in the og band before panic!, which will be discussed later.

in 2016, spencer’s wife tweeted that ryan and spencer were still friends. however, ryan did not attend spencer’s wedding, which could have been for a number of reasons, one of which we will also discuss more heavily later on [xiii]. of course, there is no way for us to know whether ryan wasn’t invited or if he just decided not to go.

mcr makes me dance:

in 2004, ryan went to the chemicalromance livejournal community and posted, “hey im ryan im new i live in las vegas my chemical romance makes me dance” and history was made [xiv]. this became a "meme" amongst panic! fans, and they started bringing signs with that phrase written on them for ryan told in pics. this has continued even in recent times.

this is another iconic piece of ryan ross fashion. he wore it a lot in 2004-2006 cause he’s a little fruity. like seriously, this hat had him in the biggest chokehold.

thank you @the-lady-general for tagging me, I love to procrastinate by doing stuff like this.

1. Why do you write fanfic?

because my brain is a relentless what-if machine and it can't be stopped or tamed. If I wasn't writing it down I'd be losing time just thinking about it, trust me, its far better this way.

and because I love writing, love the fic community, and just love creativity. I've been reading fic literally every single day since I was 11 or 12 and I'm now 38. I'm passionate about the fic writing world and my experience in the 'conventional' writing space has been nothing but anxiety, inferiority and bitterness.

2. Which of your posted stories do you think about the most, even though the story is “finished”?

I don't tend to feel like that about my stories, because I am always up to write sequels or prequels to things, or add stuff onto various universes. I still think often about weibermacht, which is the name of the sex club in my Hitman stories, and one day I will write a proper weibermacht story, but the reason I still think about stories is because they aren't properly finished. I also think a lot about the watch me series because I feel guilty that I never finished it. I have at least another 3 stories in various stages of writing.

I'm planning on doing a WIP amnesty next year (once One Man is finished), and I'm hoping that it will get me to finish some of these things I want to return to, but haven't since.

3. If you could give yourself fic advice from when you first started writing fic, what would that advice be?

Use the momentum of being really into something to make more art. Write as much fic as you can, and don't let guilt catch up with you. It doesn't matter if it sucks; you have to love it, and if you love it in the moment, you are going in the right direction.

4. What’s your relationship to fic stats?

As a professional sort-of statistician I adore them, I wish there were more of them, specifically available over time, and also the number of subscriptions to series would help me as someone who writes in that way. BUT: comparison is the thief of joy. My big fic-related breakdown was over constantly comparing myself to the people I thought were my peers. Stats don't tell you why you aren't doing better than someone, and I know from my profession that you can't just assume things from numbers.

5. Is there a pairing or scenario or friendship you miss writing? If so, why? If not, why not?

I miss Stormpilot (Finn/Poe) circa 2017. What a beautiful time. It will never come again, even if we got something to make the ship sail again, the world has changed.

6. What motivates you to write?

Much like the lady general, I am motivated by wanting to tell jokes, or by specific ideas that enter my brain and won't let go. I am motivated to keep going on one man because there are specific stories I need to share with the rest of the class, but I must tell the rest of the story in order to get there. The journey is the point, but so is the punchline.

7. Why do you write for the fandom(s) that you write for?

Star Trek, specifically SNW, is my current blorbo, so I write for myself and my id on that one. Hitman is for the thirsty thirteen and because its OTP. Oxventure is...complicated. I am so very burned out on that fandom. Super Secret RPF pairing is because of my co-conspirators <3. I've also written way, way too many things because Phoenix and I have talked about them and I've then be POSSESSED.

8. If you’re stuck writing a WIP, what do you do?

As long as I'm still interested in the project, I do my best to push through. I have the philosophy that a story doesn't really exist until it is published anyway. I do have an abandoned WIP folder, and within that is a folder called 'look I'm never writing these ones'. There are 12 stories in that folder. Meanwhile there are 134 I have yet to give up on, not including the 4 that are currently in progress (not including one man.)

Basically I need another WIP amnesty.

9. What do you wish people knew about comments?

They really are the fuel on the fire. I have finished stories because of comments. I have written entire worlds because of comments. I do my best to answer every single comment, and I try to also leave comments as much as I can. At the same time, I have to, for my own sanity, try not to put too much stock in them, because we have to be self-fuelling machines, we have to be self-raising lazaruses. You have to write for yourself, because if you base everything on other people's opinions, you will die nobody.

10. Maybe there’s a question you wish had been on here. What’s that question (and answer)?

I think the question I'd like to ask is what is your personal greatest fic achievement? Not your most popular story, what was the story that you still look at and go: I will never not be proud of that achievement. Mine is the fact I have published 750,000 words and 130 stories and I still feel like I'm only just getting started. That the perseverance over the last 14 years proves that I can do whatever I set my mind to, that I am valuable in a way that matters, and all the doubters of my youth can go fuck themselves forever.

One thing about me is i love to spot props in movies and tv shows. There was a period of time where i kept seeing that one bedding set from twilight in so many tv shows. I also love spotting things that i personally own. Especially things that are old, like the older the better imo. props are just So Neat.

here's my ranking of some of the playline eugene dolls because the lack of top tier eugene dolls is so sick and twisted...

#1: disney store 2020

i really like this face mold and screening! the best eugene doll the bar is in hell. there's still something missing but i'm not going to be fussy. though they're significantly better than some, i'm not sure if i'm enjoying the clothes 100%. i like the pattern they used for his doublet to make it movie accurate, but i believe they could've gotten different fabrics for it and the belt. though we should thank god day and night that the details aren't printed on a paper like fabric. this is five stars for modern doll standards... there should be a classic doll like him. a shame that we've never seen this doll again... he gets a reluctant 10/10 from me.

#2: mattel (old)

hate hate hate hateee that face mold + screening, fucking nasty. though he looks like he's gonna scam the fuck out of you so accurate for flynn rider i guess. why is he so high then if you hate him so fucking much you might ask. it's the clothes and his accessories. i really like that his doublet is movie accurate and (fake) leather. his belt is very detailed!! so is his satchel. like the boots, though it's kinda hard to fuck up the boots so not giving him any points for his boots. my only gripe is that his pants' aren't very great. should've been velcro or snaps instead of that elastic.. he's destined to give justin biebs circa 2010 but it's ok. can be fixed if you have trust in your sewing. also don't like that he has elastic hips.. he has GOLDEN ELASTICS tho. monster high ghouls.. eat your hearts out. 8/10. solely for how much i like his doublet and belt.

#3: older disney store variants

that hair naurrrr they didn't even bother with like carving some details. they couldn't get my man's visage right. his goatee is evil. the mold itself is fine, it's just the screening i don't like. clothes are mid :/ i don't hate them but i don't particularly like them. i definitely know at least 3 men that look like these dolls. not great but serviceable. 7/10.

4: mattel (new)

THEEEE QUALITY DROP! CLAP FOR THE QUALITY DROP! the printed on details?? the painted on pants????? with a bad face mold & screening combo? JAILLLLLLLLLLLLL!! i like the hair, the belt with the pouch and the boots though. old mattel slays hard and this one def can't hold a candle to him... but i prefer this color palette i guess.. he looks marginally cuter than his stock image irl tho. 5.5/10

Tumbleweed Motel, 3421 S. 5th St (Las Vegas Blvd S.) – 1947

The 20-unit Tumbleweed Motel was built at the same time as the Flamingo Hotel was under construction a short ways south of the motel site, with one of its same architects Richard Stadelman. The motel was owned by Brasman and Kantor of Los Angeles; R. E. Ralston, contractor. The construction permit was issued Spring '46, and the motel was open by Feb. 47, with a 752-foot well was built on the site by Canemona Drilling of Las Vegas. The motel was located on the northern side of what is now Harrah's Las Vegas.

“I played there as a child with the owner’s daughter. We lived next door in a small apartment. I watched them build the Sands. The Tumbleweed was between the Sands and the Flamingo, where the Strip ended. The city bus turned around at the Flamingo to make its run back up.” - Martha Beecher 

The neon sign and new buildings seen in the postcards below were added in the 50s. The postcards are undated, except for the black & white photo circa Jul. '56.

The motel was renamed Sand Dunes Motel in '66, and was destroyed by fire in '68. Howard Hughes owned the property before it was sold to the owners of Holiday Casino, which later became Harrah's.

mctna timeframe x wihwado retreat

okay so idk if this classifies as a meta post but it focuses on how the historical timeline meshes with that of the show to give up some tentative dates in the first 3-4 episodes. Long post after the cut:

Historically speaking, General Yi Seong-gye’s coup d’etat lasted from 22 May – 3 June 1388. Judging from the scene in mctna when YSG and Nam Jeon are in a fortress looking at the capital (your country vs your child scene) it only took a couple days to mobilise their forces to the capital. I say this cuz mctna shows that the amount of time this mobilisation process took was directly parallel to the time between Seon-ho’s first stab wound and his ruler of darkness speech. 

I mean, one might think it would’ve taken longer in real life than was shown in the series cuz of the sheer size of the army. However, that’s not the case. Here is some fun info and calculations for my fellow overthinkers who think their fic readers will research every miniscule detail you write for historical and scientific accuracy:

As I have already mentioned, a typical horse can walk at a speed of approximately 4 mph (6.5 km/h), trot at about 8 and 12 mph (13.9 – 19.5 km/h), while it can reach at least 25 and 30 mph (40 – 48 km/h) when galloping.

Below is just a walkthrough of the calculating process.

So imagine the horses in that army are travelling at 6mph/ 9.66 kmph. The distance between Liaodong (for the sake of this post I’m using modern-day Dalian at the tip of the Peninsula as the starting point) and Gaegyeong (the capital & modern-day Pyongyang) is 359.2 km by land. For non-stop travel, this would take roughly 37.2 hours. Assuming they would start travel an hour after sunrise (aka 6:20 am at that time of year), set up nightly camp a half-hour before sunset (aka 7pm at that time of year) and would need to take at least one hour’s rest during the day for sustenance/bathroom/miscellaneous reasons, they would cover about 112.7kmph per day which is about 12hours of travel per day. If they push a bit on the last day, the army would’ve arrived at the Capital in around 3 days. 

So along with a couple days of strategising before the coup, it can be said that the night Seon-ho was sent to get rid of the advance forces was circa May 17th 1388.

Between the first time skip and this night, we have maybe 2-3 days of seeing the bois on both the main army and advance troop sides. Let’s say the first time skip when we see Hwi at the end of ep 2 brought us to circa May 14th 1388.

Now the time skip itself lasted around 2 months. We can assume that Hwi was dragged to the docks somewhere around March 12th 1388.

If the military exam took place 1 or 2 days before that, let’s say our hearts first broke on on March 10th 1388.

Assuming that the training montage showing the boys getting ready for this lasted about a week as shown by Seon-ho’s different training outfits and the snippets of him treating his sword slash wound every night, the last day of happiness (aka the kite-flying) took place somewhere around March 4th or so. Using this, Hwi went back to the military exam sign-up officer on the day before and earlier on that same day March 3rd is when Seon-ho invited Hwi to the hunt with YSG.

Canonically, the boys first meet Hui-jae (which one can argue starts off the chain of events) 2-3 days earlier. Basically the scene from the pilot of our bois being all young and carefree and practicing swordplay together in the woods happens on March 1st 1388.

So yeah that’s the reverse order timeline of the first few episodes. If you made it all the way to the end, hope this can help you to further research whatever you need in further detail by using these dates as guidelines.

i never finished high school and i have thought about trying (for the like fourth time) to get a hsc (high school certificate, there r ways to get an equivalent qualification for mature age students) but idk. im at TAFE for fashion/costume and i dont really need an hsc for that. i have thought about eventually going to uni for maths though, and i would definitely have to take an entrance exam for that since i dont have an hsc. i do qualify for loads of exceptions though so its not all losses (yay disability?)

i deliberately was on every sports team in primary school at least once (except cricket lol) bc i actually did enjoy sports, but the aforementioned anxiety disorder made actually pursuing that difficult. i also did dance, gymnastics, acrobatics and trampolining at some point during childhood. i do miss acro, that was the last extracurricular i did before i got mucho depressed and my life basically stopped circa 2016. the only sport ive ever followed as a fan is tennis!

Taylor Alatorre: Who wrote these lyrics, the Women's Christian Temperance Union circa 1905? Back then, the narrator of "Too Sweet" would've been a cautionary poster child for the domestic discord caused by excessive drink. But we're in a post-21st Amendment world now, and the more pressing social ill at hand... is that my girl doesn't want to party all the time. It's such a ridiculous premise that it has an unlikely liberatory effect, freeing Hozier from his endemic dourness and letting him play as the lovable asshole, whose assholishness is thankfully of the low-stakes, take-it-or-leave-it kind. The mandatory blues-rock inflections are smoothed out to the point of being rubberized, a snub to purism that proves a suitable match for Hozier's role as the all-too-tamable sort of danger. None of this negates the song's fundamental slightness, but the clever-stupid "TSA" line indicates that slightness might have been what he was aiming for anyway. [6]

Ian Mathers: I mean, obviously it's both fine on its own (if not particularly spectacular) and also weird that this and not "Take Me to Church" is his first #1, but I'm sorry, I just can't get over there being a hit song that finally speaks proudly for those of us that have trouble falling asleep at a so-called "civilized" hour (although honestly even 3 is a bit early, if I really had my druthers).  [6]

Harlan Talib Ockey: To be a Hozier fan is to know pain. One set of bonus tracks better than their parent album is a shame. Two is a migraine. Three starts to feel like sabotage, on some level. Similarly, the grape line that appears in the final verse suggests that the titular “too sweet” is supposed to convey a certain untouched freshness, or a lack of life experience, but placing it in the chorus right after a line about black coffee sets up an implied contrast that makes the metaphor feel like it’s breaking, because, like, be serious: we all know the my-body-is-a-temple crowd has been off sugar for years. Katherine St. Asaph: I said last month that this sounded like a Danger Mouse take on "Be My Baby," and I stand by that! You don't have to believe a word of this song to recognize the appeal in that. [6]

As it turns out, though, even long-distance had proven less painful than actively staying away from each other has been.

2. diamonds (Satine/Nini, Moulin Rouge the Musical, rated M)

Nini is beautiful, and sensuous, and makes Satine’s blood boil. She’s the only person at the Rouge who isn’t intimidated by the mystique of the Sparkling Diamond. The only one brave enough to smack her on the ass on her way offstage or criticize her to her face when Satine drops a note or flubs a dance step, rare though that is. She challenges her.

4. favorite thing to draw

Plus-sized and fat bodies, absolutely. I've also been having a TON of fun with all the different shapes hollow knight buggies take, but my one love will always be my bigger bodies. I started off drawing them to put art in the world that I never got to see for myself, and that still holds true. Fat rolls, cellulite, stretch marks, body hair, all of them are divine and beloved to me.

5. least favorite thing to draw

FEET. FEET. FEET. I HATE FEET HOW DO THEY WORK. WHY CANT EVERYONE JUST HAVE CUTE LITTLE PAWS OR HOOVES. OR BUG CLAWS. I THINK WE SHOULD ABOLISH FEET. I THINK THE HUMAN RACE CAN DO BETTER. ABOLISH FEET 2023.

6. warm colors or cold colors

Warm, absolutely. An old semi-critique a friend gave me is I always adjust my palettes to be warmer, and you know what? Yeah I do. My favorite colors are orange, yellow, pink, and a warm teal, so I tend to skew towards them when I can. I don't think there's enough orange or yellow in the world.

8. what's the most fun and the least fun parts about your process (TITTIES BELOW)

The most fun is probably the lineart stages when I'm doing intricate lineart. I haven't done any recently for HK stuff, but I used to be The Lineart Guy haha. These are both from 2020, but doing the lines for the hair and all the little intricate details was very soothing to me. I once did a nine hour stream where i almost exclusively lined a character's hair.

I've also really come to like the blocking in and 'sketching' portions of painting too.

My least favorite part is coloring. Which is odd because it tends to be the part I get compliments about the most? But it takes me the longest and I Do Not Like It.

10. how many different sketches do you usually have until your piece is finished

This depends! I usually do rough sketch/thumbnail -> clean sketch -> lineart -> color, if it follows that area. Otherwise for paintings I end up sketching and then build up off the sketch on the same layer. Usually only 1-2, sometimes 3-4 if I can't get a concept down.

Oldest art photo I have on my google photos. Throwback to when I was 13 and thought I was gonna run a my little pony marine biology ask blog and then proceeded to not do that after like 2 posts LMFAO (circa 2014)
