What type of Pokémon team would Yusuke have?

BRUH This is DEPENDING ON THE REGION TOO. For simplicity's sake let's go with the newest Paldea region. If Yusuke were to pick a starter then of course that starter would be:

Fuecoco, WHY? Because Yusuke runs hot. Adding Puu likeness to him I think he'd just let him be just that, an unevolved Fuecoco cause Yusuke needs a cute mascot with him. Now Yusuke's out in the wild with his new pokemon. The two will see so many different pokemon on the way during this exam (I THINK it was an exam, LORD knows he wouldn't stick around for class either way) and then the pokemon that would catch his attention is Pawmo. Look at it, little guy and looks like it likes to throw hands, he'd resonate with that pokemon so he'll catch it and eventually on the long journey it'll evolve, so second in line is Pawmot.

Another pokemon I think he'd actively catch is a Slakoth, because knowing Yusuke he'd be making a pretty good meal and that'll attract the little mon tow his campsite. Yusuke might see a kindred spirit in Slakoth's lax nature and catch him too and of course it would evolve into Vigoroth and the two are just on the same wavelength, always up for action. What I also wanna stress is Yusuke would be the type of trainer that would help a pokemon along the way of his journey. The pokemon I'm sure he'd find would be another cute one, maybe a Happini that would represent 'Keiko'. The poor little thing could have lost its egg and of course Yusuke would help her out, with a nudge from Fuecoco of course. So they find the egg and Happini didn't want to separate herself from Yusuke so she joins him and eventually turns into a Blissey through bonding. If I'm not mistaken Blissey's themed item is a Lucky Egg and in Yusuke's own canon he's a pretty lucky individual soo it works.

We're nearing the end of the pokemon selection. NOW We did say Fuecoco's with him because Yusuke really has a knack for having something cute be connected to him spiritually in some way, but I think the TRUE stand-in for Puu in the realm of pokemon would be Altaria. It's a bird, with a long neck and it's blue, we know he'd definitely be knocking heads with this. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST the pokemon Yusuke would definitely catch is a mankey. You don't need me to go into WHY he'd have a Mankey. Look at it, it's mannerism. It'd shine to him and he'd DEFINITELY want it on his team. ALSO I will say even here Yusuke would be a kind of fighter, not a demon or something like that honestly but definitely still a street fighter, so he and his primeape can throw hands. Then Anihilape.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I absolutely love the recs you've given (you've introduced me to tomione, and I love it!) and I was wondering if it's possible to give you some recs in return? There are some books and fics that definitely have dramione / got vibes, and I was wondering if I could share them with you!

So glad you've enjoyed them! Feel free to rec me anything you want. I've read most of the classic recs in terms of fic and adjacent content (Cruel Prince et al), but I'll try anything that's well-written. My tastes run towards weird and/or audaciously creative stuff, and I can forgive a lot of weaknesses in plot on the grounds of (1) ambition or (2) character work. My turnoffs are instalove, protagonists who can't fail, and most Y/A (I'm not a hater, I swear, I just need characters who can say "fuck" when their leg gets chopped off.)

I'm also a fan of weird and fucked-up dynamics.(Wuthering Heights was my favorite book for a while, and as a teenager I wrote an AU in which the book ends on a long sex scene where Heathcliff fucks Cathy's ghost and then immediately gets murdered by Catherine 2.) Obviously, I am very normal.

Before we call anon rude because let’s see it from their perspective, imagine getting an entire feast to eat. That can be pretty hard to start with so much that’s going on, but if they start with one thing they know they’ll like (aka one character they like) that can be the start for them leaping to other characters to finish the story and the bigger story. I struggle the same way to start book series if I don’t have at least one character that drives me to read it, it’s all about what can be the hook to push them through. Sounds like the anon is neurodivergent (just a guess) so they might genuinely not see it as rude and see it as a solution to even play the game to start with.

Btw absolutely adore the game, the complex and rich characters making them all so unique is amazing. The art is so pleasing to the eyes I love it!! I’m waiting for it all to get out at once so I don’t get too impatient. Shae however interests me the most, which routes will have the most lore for them? Will there be routes that give more lore in general based on decisions you make or do they all share the same amount? (I mean general lore not just Shae lore)

Apologies; we are not trying to accuse any asker of being rude! We are simply explaining our perspective as the developers / are trying to broadly encourage folks to dip their toes into other areas of the story outside of the main route(s) they're interested in, especially considering some routes will be made available sooner than others, and these other routes will likely contain additional scenes/lore of everyone's fave(s) regardless! We want to give each main cast member an equal amount of love (and lore) regardless of their overall popularity, so our goal is not to tut-tut anyone for having strong preferences for one character over the others, but rather to explain that you may be surprised by how much *more* you learn about your preferred characters in the other routes. That's all!

For Shae... Well, they were a foot soldier for one of the worst periods of the War. Lore wise, any other story that touches on the War will likely have content relevant to them and their experiences. ^^

I really like the idea of the power imbalance that could come from a victim who can't use the respawn machine; especially if everyone else on the base can. The isolation that comes with being a new member of the team that already has years of chemistry, knowing that assassins don't exactly get an HR for interpersonal conflicts on the job site, anyway. You're more vulnerable, socially and physically. If a Pyro decides to light you up, you're permanently dead. Even if you manage to kill someone, they'll just come back a few minutes later.

Maybe Medic or Engineer saying it will only take a week or two until your respawn is available (and "delaying" it more and more, simply because it's funny to watch). Pauling calling you and saying they're not planning to give you respawn until you manage a higher killstreak.

Everyone in the base is a sadist. They probably don't even like you, let alone feel deeper emotions when they all nearly kill you during off hours.

It's probably only after months of constant near misses that one of the members starts to think of just how far they could take your desire to stay alive. Your respawns still not up, so you're not in a position to say no...

OR, for your consideration: someone on the other team realizing you don't have a respawn because there isn't a version of you on their team. Spy is probably the first to pick up on this (maybe Medic is a close second) since keeping a level head and multitasking is his job description. He knows you're vulnerable. And then it just becomes fun to try to single you out every round.

in the collective reality where oda actively bothers to do something with alvida and/or galdino in this new post cross guild going for the one piece reality, how plausible do u consider either of them actively caring for buggy or going behind his back to help him in some way? i find the fact oda kept alvida with the narrative extremely fascinating and it frustrates me how she is so underutilised (then again with such a huge cast it is hard to get every character to do a lot, but alvida could have been discarded quite easily post loguetown. yet here she is, a 1000 chapters later, sitting on the cross guild couch drinking wine)

i do wonder sometimes what oda is thinking when he keeps characters like cabaji, mohji, and alvida around a thousand chapters since they last really did anything. does he like drawing them? does he want to throw a bone to the handful of east blue stans out there who miss when op pirate crews had a simple gimmick they stuck to? is he trying to show that buggy lifts his crew up with him, or refuses to leave anyone behind? i just don't know.

modern day alvida has a lot in common with galdino. she's calculating, analytical, and sides with the person who will give her the greatest advantage. that's been buggy for a long time because he's had the appearance of power for a long time. even now, the appearance of power is still there. does she actually care for buggy? does galdino? i'm not sure.

but for the purposes of answering this question, let's assume that she does, that they both do. i think their pragmatism still outweighs any fond feeling, unless:

it's to their significant advantage to help buggy, and/or

they won't get caught

safety above all else, you know? and getting on either mihawk or crocodile's bad side is not particularly safe behavior.

Anyone was first defined as a story showing what would happen if Izuku was never chosen by All Might. That's the base on which the story stands.

But the truth is that under this base stands four wooden legs, three of which are broken, which are AFO being sent sooner to Tartarus. Izuku couldn't become Anyone if he didn't have the time and the freedom to invest a fuck ton of time and energy into Anyone. For that to happen, you need Inko to be gone. And AFO's leaving and the money problems it created is the reason why Inko is abroad.

Different anon here: I read that fic even though I'm not a hockey fan because I searched for fics with hip song connections and I saw yours and thought it looked cool enough to try anyway. And then it absolutely blew my mind. It's brilliant and I will never get over it. I'm sure that it's even better for people who know more of the hockey background, but it really does stand alone as a story too. I'm really sorry that you were in a bad place while writing it, but thank you so much for creating something so amazing and sharing it with the world (and for making it about the tragically hip too) <3

another thing that felt really disappointing was akane. like for all the build up she got, not only did she just feel underwhelming but it felt as though once her plot was resolved the game put her aside. honestly, it wouldve been much better if the last ichi scene of the game wasnt wasted on the wack ass ichi/saeko plot, but it instead maybe showed ichi and akane start to bond ? idk. i just wanted more from her..

on that note though the entire ichi/saeko plot. just. just throw it out. it does literally nothing for the story and it stomps on the initial appeal of ichi's character (i.e. his emotional intelligence). absolutely nothing would've changed if they removed that plot

just a small bit, i think the reveal of kiryu's cancer shouldnt have been so early on and so. casual LMAO. i'm stealing this point from @/passports_alt because we were talking about it the other week but it would've been a MUCH better reveal if after the fire in the forest, THATS when kiryu wouldve told them (after incessant badgering of course. kiryus annoyingly stubborn still as shown through his memoirs)

Nolan is about to soft launch his retirement or maybe its hard launch his retirement.

All he knows is that in a couple of days the hockey coaching and mentorship organization he's now working for, working with as a Skills Specialist is going to launch and the world is going to know he's a "retired pro".

He feels a little restless about it. He's putting a demonstrative end to his National Hockey League career. Closing not only that chapter, but basically shutting the book with a heavy lock and key, and tossing the book and the key into the ocean.

He needs to do something about it, but he doesn't know what. Some sort of ceremonial end. Maybe some pomp and circumstance. Something. Maybe he should grab a beer or something.

He settles for opening up Instagram for lack of anything better to do and the first thing he sees is Nico Hischier's stupid, perfect, face, standing there.

It's a fucking watch ad. Of course its a fucking watch ad.

Nolan's this close to chucking his phone away, but he stops himself, so maybe its not some big, official thing, but its symbolic as fuck.

He clicks through to Nico's profile, gives one final scroll through, stops at the picture of them at the 2017 Stanley Cup game, opens it up.

Sees himself. Sees himself when it was all about to begin. When anything could have happened. When the world was in front of him. Everything at his fingertips. And sees Nico standing next to him.

He zooms in on himself and Nico. Nico and Nolan. Nolan and Nico.

He catches himself staring, fondly, and clicks out of the picture, back to Nico's profile.

He scrolls back up to the top.

And sees this Nico. Nico Hischier, Captain of the New Jersey Devils. Nico Hischier, Frank J. Selke Trophy Finalist.

This isn't his Nico anymore. This hasn't been his Nico for a while now.

And he isn't that Nolan anymore. There's a whole new world in front of him and there's something different at his fingertips now.

He clicks "Following" and sees the "Unfollow" selection at he bottom of the screen.

He closes his eyes and sees Nico from the draft, baby faced, smiling wide at him, eyes crinkling, and this Nico of the past says "Do it, Patty."

And Nolan does it.
