“Good thing yer eyes are closed. Yusuke said as he held the bucket in his hand and stepped into her bathroom and flushing the blood and water down the drain. Next was the  mop that was cleaned within her bathroom and after a few moments, he would finally come back out of her bathroom. “H’alright ya can open yer eyes now. And it wasn’t just breakfast, I promised ya meals..I’ll start by makin’ ya breakfast and then a lunch t’ take t’ work while I’m at it.”

"The mop is in the other room." Haruko weakly pointed at the door that led to the living room. "There is a thin cupboard near the entrance. It's there."

A burp rose to her mouth, followed by a nauseous taste. Haruko pressed her palm on her lips with a groan.

"Is your job always so disgusting?" She asked, closing her lids. "Actually no, you know what? Spare me the details."

She blindly reached for Puu and dragged him closed to her chest, hugging him tightly while she turned her back to whatever show was displayed in her closet.

"In fact, I'm not gonna open my eyes until you're done cleaning!" She declared, keeping them firmly shut. "And remember you owe me breakfast after this!"

“I think yer right about that one because ye actin’ like a damn cat, now quit bein’ a pussy and lay on yer damn back so I can rub your belly.” Yusuke shouts towards the half-demon with an aggressive tone, it was just one big argument after the other whenever these two got together. “If ya don’t lay down then I’ll just have t’ knock ya down.”

"You wouldn't dare!"

All of it's lost at that one mention of an action. Where the hell did he get that idea?! No one's allowed to know about that physical weakness. Not even Kagome knows about it. He's showing more than he wanted to let on just by that being the only thing he paid attention to, and how it's not even anger on his face, but more something akin to shock.

He smiles as he pats the top of their head. It’s always a blessing to have people at his corner ready to help him at a moment’s notice.  ❝   𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲.   ❞  The words left him with a pleasant tone, actually extremely fortunate he has friends like them in his life. “There are days where I’d say I could do pretty much whatever I need on my own, but I’ve grown a lot since then.” With it being over nine years in the past, it’d be a shame if his thinking hadn’t changed by now.

“Though I like the idea of Kurama and you being the type t’ handle the diplomatic talking. Really paints a picture for me for the day I take the throne one day..in a few centuries. That way I can protect ningenkai indefinitely with all the power I’d have. From then on, I’ll just have t’ keep my skills sharp so I’d never lose another tournament period.” Although he has a feeling that by the time he’s king, they might implement the rule of two, where he WOULDN’T BE ELIGIBLE to enter into the tournament for the title of king any longer. 

“Either way, I’m extremely lucky t’ have all of you.” He said with a smile gently patting the top of their head. “Though if ya wanna make an effective speaker ya might wanna go back t’ havin’ a D-cup. Tits distract the eyes long enough for the ears t’ listen.”

Even if their words carried a hefty weight to be on their shoulders, they would bear it for as long as they needed to. Sometimes, others needed their burdens offloaded completely so as to recuperate, and in Yusuke's case, they would never mind it if he decided to do just that to them. However, what they weren't expecting was to have the former spirit detective get rather close to where their foreheads were pressed together. And, admittedly, it was hard for their cheeks to not flush slightly at the close proximity they were at.

A small smile was shown on their features, though it wasn't permanently there—especially when he began speaking about what was on his mind. They couldn't deny that his concerns were rather valid, especially given the behaviors some demons tended to exhibit, even when they were given a set list of rules to follow. It was why a firm nod was given in understanding while they waited for him to finish what he was saying.

❝No man is an island, Yusuke,❞ they finally said, placing a hand on his shoulder and giving it a firm, yet comforting squeeze. ❝You have us to help you out if a yokai is bold enough to want to undo your hard work to keep the Ningenkai safe. For example, Kurama and I could handle negotiations in your stead so as to appease the unruly yokai, for example. And should that fail, we can always demonstrate what happens when someone chooses to not listen or think they can get one over us.❞

The archangel's hand lowered from Yusuke's shoulder before their usual smile took its place on their countenance.

“See that’s the part that makes this whole thing…a mess in my head.” The one instance where Yusuke’s brain actually functions at a regular. “Now ya said we were friends..just friends and Keiko has always been that number one girl in my life..I mean it lines up with my memories n’ all but it still feels weird. So here’s the kicker that really let’s me know that there’s somethin’ really up with this whole magic memory wipin’ thing. Keiko’s the one that supposedly likes me more than a friend..so why send you t’ bring me back when she could have done it herself?” Keiko has always been a stubborn individual throughout his life, he doubts a spell would have her change…Yusuke remembered he was beyond ticked off that day so if anyone was going to bring him back, it was the words coming from someone special…so why would someone who’s just a friend reach him and bring him back? Keiko should know that he’d be too stubborn to listen. Thinking about it really put a strain on him though, it’s as if the spell was doing all it could to make sure that Yusuke doesn’t get any smart ideas and doubt the reality he lives in. There’s a look on his face that said he was suffering, his head was pounding, he even began to sweat. “Shit..it’s like someone turned up the heat.”

"Talk about a shit way to go out huh? Think I was born to live in a comedic tragedy." It really was bullshit at the end of the day. She survived all sorts of supernatural encounters but what turned out to be her downfall was a flight of stairs. At the very least no one she cared about found her body before she was taken to the Yoseikai to complete her transformation.

Should she lie and say no? It'd be easy. A simple 'nah' and then they could gloss over the whole thing. But it wouldn't erase her memories or the real grief she endured. "I was there.... Keiko asked me to drag your ass back to school so I ended up running after ya.... By the time I found you they were putting you in a body bag." She still remembered the sight of his body, all mangled and tore up. The only solace she got from the doc was that his death was almost instant.

“Koichi Tsuru.” If they were giving out names then he’ll give her his. “Be sure you don’t forget that either.” He then heard what she definitely has in her fridge and rice was a good start. After finishing his drink he removed himself from the seat and placed his hands into his pockets, and turned to face her. “How about a little detour before we get t yer place then. We can hit the 24-hour convenience store, grab a couple of things like spring onions for garnishin’. Help add a little flavor t’ the meal..good color too. Should go with the steamed veggies I'll make on the side for us."

"Oh so you staring at my tits while I make your drinks all the time meant nothin? And it's not Barkeep, its Kore," If he planned on committing to this little flirting game she might as well give him her name. The owner often called her 'blondie-san' or 'boin-chan' so she wouldn't blame him if he didn't know her name. (especially the latter whenever she wore a tanktop) "Kore Malis, try not to forget it ok?"

Offering to take her home and cooking her a meal? Wow this guy was pretty forward in an earnest way. If his cooking turned out to be good she might have an actual problem on her hands. "Not much if I'm bein' honest, don't have a lot of time to get groceries.... I think I got a decent amount of leftover rice though if ya wanted to make fried rice. Should have some veggies too."

“Demon world of course…Makai here.” With a mighty screech, Puu turned and flew higher and higher into the air above the clouds. There was one gate into the demon world that he was sure no one would see them enter. Because of Yusuke’s antics a few years back, the way between demon world and the human world were connected, and so the demons could cross whenever they so desired, and the same for the humans.

“I’m gonna take ya t’ my kingdom..ya already saw how demons can live quiet lives in ningenkai now it’s time t’ show ya that they could do the same thing at home.” He spoke up with a smile on his face as they’ve crossed a rift. The night sky around them turned into nothing but a complete void, nothing but pitch black as far as the eye could see, but there was flickering light before them and once they’ve crossed through they were within the demon realm.

The skies were a bleeding scarlet, and the landscape below them was large, treacherous mountains; however, right at the heart of these mountains was civilization. All that could be seen from their altitude was nothing but the sight of green, which probably meant vegetation. “Home sweet home,” Yusuke utters as Puu then descends lower and lower until they are within the center of the town. The village resembled Japan in its feudal glory. And there were yokai going about their day as people would in Ningenkai. 

These yokai all were of different shapes and sizes, some resembled beasts, some walked on all fours, some slithered like serpents. One of the yokai recognized puu, it wasa child. The little one had gathered his friends and quickly ran towards Puu, shouting, ‘It’s Lord Yusuke!’The people heard and gave their bows as the children were laughing, but then they saw someone..else there. “Lord Yusuke, is that your bride?” The child asked innocently.

“Maybe in a for now I’m the one she tolerates. C’mon Tailbraid come down here so I can introduce ya t’ my people.” If there was one thing Yusuke might have forgotten to mention was that he’s a person of great importance within the demon world.

Figuring it was easier to indulge him than fight him, Rumi's reluctant feet move her forward, arms crossed at her chest as she raises a brow at his broad back. It wasn't so much that she didn't believe in Puu's abilities... she just... didn't believe in Puu's abilities. It was a cute spirit thing, but for the most part, it acted like a tamagotchi come to life. And no, she wasn't just biased to the blue tiger spirit and the six-eyed magpie, they too were cut from the same cloth.

Color her surprised, however, when the green tamagotchi literally burst into flames. The flash of light, no matter how on-theme with the hotel it might be, was surely going to arouse SOME kind of crowd right? And right outside her hotel window?

"Yusuke." His name might as well be a swear with how many times she'd used it as such. Of all the men in Japan, she had to get stuck with the worst. Her head pokes out of the window, looking down at the street 13 floors below first before her eyes landed on him.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

"Fine," emphasize with a familiar roll of her eyes. Rumi makes her way onto the back of the bird beast and takes a seat beside him. "Where are we going, anyway?"

Everyone around them were practically holding their breath, once she accepted it was as if a wave of relief crashed over them as the sound of a multitude of ‘whews’ echoed in their immediate area. It seems his men were hyper-focused on her answer, left in suspense at her little pause before she had given him her answer. Then to hear she was also possible pregnant the crowd utters one loud ‘NANI?!’

“Yeah, what they said. He’d grab her cheeks with both hands and gazes into her eyes. “Damn right I would have left ya with Kiku if I knew there’s a possibility you were strapped with more than just a gun.” At the very least he understood why Sora said last month was the worse cause her co-captain wasn’t there with her. This was probably what she meant. At the time, he thought they had taken piloting classes together..stupid stupid. Now Yusuke’s hand gently rubbed her tummy before he’d squat and look at her stomach.

“A second kid though…It looks like I’m resigning jus’ in time.” He said softly as Harumo then approached him. Sheathing his sword before bowing his head.

“I’m sorry to interrupt this moment Godaime-sama, Kore-sama..but I’m definitely sure you can’t just up and leave just like that..there’s still a ceremony that needs to be held and not to mention your appointed successor. But can I suggest we do this in a safer position? Osakan police would be here soon, perhaps we should just head back to our hotels and prepare for our flights back to tokyo.” His second in command spoke up.

Yusuke slowly reached back to his feet. “Sounds like a good idea..though you miss, ya really need t’ think about surviving in the middle of a fight and not missed periods…yer gonna have t’ tell me how that even happened. Like..did ya make someone bleed and realized ya haven’t bled in a month or somethin’? And..someone get Sora a handkerchief.”

It had been what felt like an eternal struggle and a grand battle over Okinawan soil but the battle was finally over. (as far as they know) Oberon was stopped, there was no body to confirm his death but he still suffered a defeat along with his cronies. Yusuke of course was a bloody mess, as well as his two officers along with him and the dozens of soldiers in black among them but they were okay.

"Kore..." Yusuke smiles running to her, agh she was just in a mess as she was..but its to be expected when 'husband and wife' take the battlefield together. "Honey...startin' today my days in the yakuza will be numbered, I will step back from this life to dedicate my life fulltime to you and our daughter. I'll get an honest job to help support the two of us..we won't have a big mansion on a hill..but we'll definitely have a home wherever you want to live. Whether it's here..or back in the West as long as I'm with you. Because when I belong with you, it's where I'm safe, it's where I'm home. The day we reunited after so long I was drawn t' ya all over again. I think it was because of yer strength, you've went through soo much just to try and provide the best for our daughter and ya did that on your own. Kiku grew up so wise, so smart..YOU did that Kore. Genkai may have trained me t' punch boulders pick up wrecking balls but yer still stronger than I'd ever be Kore."

He pauses to take her hands, kisses her knuckles lightly. "And now I'll make sure I never let ya out of my sight again, you nor Kore and our future kids after her..I'm guessin' what I'm tryin' t' say..is Kore will ya marry me?"

The moment he said that he's planning on leaving the family his soldiers..no his friends around him gasp. He had done soo much for the family..done soo much for Shibuya as a whole it would be sad to see him go..but then there was Sora, already tearing up because he'd just ask the woman he loved to marry him.

Even now she could see flashes of a younger Yusuke who would spend time with her upon the days he would train her to be a fighter. She would tell him about romances in her classes and how she hoped she can find something like what they read in storybooks because she's seen it firsthand in her life before her mother passed. She remembered Yusuke chuckling and teasing her, saying that he believes she'd find someone but he'd say. "But there's no kinda story like that for people like me." She told him he was wrong then and now she knows she's right. Her little brother is getting his family.

It was over, as the dust finally settled she could finally say everything was over. It didn't matter in the moment if Oberon was alive or not, he lost and that meant his empire has finally crumbled. He had no power and she could breath easy for the first time in her life. She visibly brightens up when she hears Yusuke's voice and she quickly drops the gun to run over to him to hug him tightly. "It's over!" She laughs as tears threaten to slip but they were happy tears.

But the tears would soon spill out as he takes her by the hand and officially asks him to marry her. "If it were anyone else doin' this I'd smack em over the head and leave them high and dry, but since it's you..... Of course I'd marry you. I would want nothing more to spend the rest of my life with you." She smiles as she leans in to kiss him.

"And...... not to rush things but we might want to have the wedding in the next few months unless you don't mind seeing me wear a wedding dress with a bump." There were members of the family who gave her weird looks until she takes on of his hands and presses it to her abdomen and the amount of gasps was alarming. "Now I don't know for sure but in the middle of combat I just realized it's been a while since I've been on my period." She really had the mental capacity to think about that in the middle of an all out war? It was truly a sign of how far she's come from being unable to wield a gun to effortlessly firing at their enemies from across the battlefield and providing cover for him and his allies who were on the frontlines.

"I know, I know! I should have said something earlier but you wouldn't have let me come if you thought I might be pregnant." She laughs before hugging him tight.

There’s a smile that popped up on his face when he heard Kiku in the background, in fact he’d even chuckle a little after hearing her. It’s amazing how these two had managed to bring out a different side of him in the little time they’ve gotten to know him. His little faction has seen this more lax side of him yes, whenever they get together for drinks or a wrestling event but it was always in those limited time frames, whilst Kiku and Kore had him smiling throughout all parts of the day.

“I miss the kiddo too, tell her she can decide where we’re gonna go tomorrow for lunch or just t’ spend time with one another after we pick her up. She’ll be chairman. As for tonight..I can do that. Who would ya want watching her at the hotel? I can send Sora.”

He was worried about that? "O-oh I'm sorry I did see it," Now she felt guilty for not responding to it right away. "I was just about to take a shower and then call you right after, I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry you." She's holding the phone close as she takes a seat on the edge of her bed. "I missed you too." And there was a distant 'hey' in the background of her side of the call and she chuckles softly. "Kiku also missed you greatly if you couldn't tell."

"I'm off work tomorrow so that would be perfect. Did you want to meet up for lunch? We could um—eat and chat and once Kiku's out of school we can pick her up together and we can go somewhere nice....." She shuffles a little bit as cups her hand over the phone so her daughter wouldn't hear the next part. "If you want we can also meet up for a few drinks tonight."

"When mama dropped me off this morning he was makin' googly eyes and askin' if she was free. Don't worry Oji-Chan I told him he's too ugly and poor for mama and she's already cheating on father with you." Well maybe she shouldn't have said that last part, it was definitely going to cause rumors later on down the line but she meant well! And technically they weren't officially together yet, but in the child's mind Tsuru was a strong candidate to be her new dad. If they take too long to confess to each other though she's going to to have to take matters into her own hands soon.

“He was huh…well I’m glad you were here t’ set him straight Kiddo.” He said towards her with a smile on his face..but in truth he wanted nothing more than to walk up to that man and punch him in the nose for flirting with the woman he plans on making his girlfriend…soon. However, Tsuru stops himself from committing such an atrocity. After all it wouldn’t be seen good form for him the chairman of the seiryu clan to go out and attack civilians.

Last thing removed were his pants which left him in just his underwear. “We both step towards the shoreline and we walk and walk until we get t’ the deep end and from there we’ll dive and whoever stays down the longest before comin’ back for air is the winner.”
