You can kiss sleeping alone goodbye once Silas gets his hand on you. You’ll constantly have a giant elf with big tiddies hugging you tightly through the night no matter how hot or cold ghe weather is.

He does sing you lullabies but usually the words are quite mixed up and half of the song is just humming because he has a hard time remembering the whole thing. Sometimes he also just talks your ear off until you fall asleep

Unfortunately with him you don’t really get to stay up for too long, when he says sleep time it’s sleep time because staying up late isn’t healthy for you and he can’t risk you getting sick or something. But it’s ok! You get to be glued to him and you do fall asleep isn’t it fun :)

you having no luck with riling him up is an unfortunate result of his will of steel (smh), and if anything, i think he’d find it almost cute 🙂‍↕️ he allows it to continue to see what you’ll come up with, he likes being on the receiving end of your attention, and because he knows in the end you’ll only end up riling up yourself.

i think the “breaking point” so to say would be when either 1. you decide you’ve had enough, and stop trying — or 2. he decides that you’re gonna stop for you.

also probably won't go for full line and color in next chapters, because it's EXAUSTING and i will NOT survive another part.

So what headcanons do you have about our boy Ming Fan? I personally think he was like a second or third spare son that his parents sent off to CQM for bragging rights, not actually caring about what he wanted. He was also bullied by his siblings.

Oooh. This is eerily similar to my own headcanons. Remember that unhinged character bingo sheet? The one where I practically scribbled out the Daddy Issues square? Yep.

His family is in the tea business, his father’s probably a wealthy merchant. (This, at least, is pretty much canon) His mother’s a concubine or a second wife that’s fallen out of favor and so she’s raised Ming Fan to curry favor with his father. I totally agree on him being sent to Cang Qiong mostly because it’s the best use for the spare—if he becomes an immortal, all the better, otherwise he’s simply bragging rights for the family and can be pulled back home as a quick replacement if something happens to the heir. (Kinda like how 1800s English gentry just loved shoving extra sons into the military or the clergy—they’re useful and out of the way and not a drain on the family finances). 

His father barely seems aware of his presence but occasionally would allow him some gift or other, continuously giving Ming Fan false hope that he’ll be acknowledged. His oldest brother (son of the main wife and therefore legitimate) takes advantage of that, playing mind games with him and having Ming Fan’s pets killed whenever he feels he needs to make a point. (Eventually he just stops bringing wounded animals home because he knows they’ll just die anyway, and it’s not like he can change anything, after all, he’s only eight.)

His father is barely aware he exists, his mother treats him like a pawn, and his oldest brother is viciously cruel. His other siblings just avoid him.

He grows up used to all this, which is why he doesn’t blink an eye at Shen Qingqiu’s actions, which are a horrible combination of all of his family members’ traits.

When SQQ gives him the barest acknowledgment of praise, he sees his father that he’s tries for so long to please. When SQQ has him run errands and complete less savory and underhanded tasks, he agrees to his mother’s directions. When SQQ appears pleased with the brutal treatment Luo Binghe receives on his peak, and goes so far as to torment him himself, Ming Fan follows reluctantly in his brother’s shadow and becomes complicit in LBH’s blackening. He’s grown so used to inhumanity in his own family that it surprises him to find natural kindness elsewhere (SQQ!SY).

Other miscellaneous headcanons that sneak into my work: he has beautiful calligraphy and is actually really good at talismans. he will lose track of time if he’s in research mode (or unless his friends drag him away). his qinggong is excellent considering he’s small and light, perfect for light foot work.

espeon evolved at a young age. when he had begun to develop a mysterious illness in his brain that couldve been fatal if his body didnt evolve into an espeon to combat the potentially terminal disease early on. it didnt really impact him past that point in his life and recovered very well but...

his own unconventional evolution piqued his interest in how far an eevees adaptive abilities could be pushed. But from what he could tell no one else had been able Really look into that.

but espeon had always been fascinated by evolution in general helping his parents with their work. espeon was born around the time they started the research facility in kanto after they had moved there together. he had made impressive advancements in the field of evolution studies himself. wrote books, publicly spoke on the topic and just. generally became a respected authority on it all, over the course of his life.

over the years he had also found the time to start a family. not very present in their lives since he was extremely busy with his work. his oldest and youngest did not have much interest in their family's line of research at all but his middleborn always had a respect for the work his father did.

However, as successful as he was in his field...he still wasn't satisfied with his personal knowledge of his own species's natural abilities...

one day espeon had gotten an offer from team rocket to be a lead scientist on some project. something about cloning mew. they said that they would assist him with anything he wanted. give him any amount of money he wanted for him to be on the project. he made a big show of kicking them out of the facility, however...he secretly contacted them telepathically before they got very far away telling them he would work with them.

the project progressed and espeon became fascinated with not only the science and technology involved in what they were doing but the ethics as well. And how they could just...do it. But then again he'd never personally cared about whether an experiment could be considered cruel to its participants. Always being ruled by his own curiosity and his want of knowledge in that regard...

As he felt like the progress was going smoothly on the project...something went wrong and Mewtwo broke out. He was prepared for his offer to be rescinded but...team rocket kept up their part of the deal they agreed on and gave him as much protection and money for whatever he had in mind as they could...

he wanted to see how far an eevees natural adaptation could be pushed. Even though he knew the route he was going possibly wouldn't offer reliable research he didn't particularly care as long as he could sate his own curiosity in the topic...he only had three test subjects after all.

Espeon couldn't let his kids evolve for the sake of his pet project to work. Not only did he do experiments that physically harmed them on occasion but since eevees also evolved w emotional stimuli he messed around a lot with that aspect of it too... his eldest evolved on her own one day the first chance she got. after an argument w him she left home on her own. Soon after his youngest followed her lead. Left with only his middleborn he still did what he could...

Begrudgingly the experiments came to an end. leaving him still unsatisfied but he understood that there was little point in continuing on.

as the years went on he actually did try to have a *decent(by his standards at least) relationship with his grandkids despite his son being "overly cautious" and not really wanting them to have to interact with him in any way if they didnt have to...

when one of his grandchildren evolved into an espeon he immediately took them on as an assistant of sorts in hopes that they would be able to take over the family business. However his expectations were not met and he was disappointed more than anything.

When he eventually passed around his late 70s(?) he kind of had no other choice but to put his son in charge of the family labs seeing as everyone else he thought of as a possible option was either no longer in contact with him or dead.

He died about 2 years before EVs egg was laid.
