I love Inkmare. It most likely won't be canon in my version of the undertale multiverse. We'll see. But they are definatly going to be a pairing. A friendship where they think they're manipulating the other, but in reality they're just being chsotic friends.

I couldn't figure out which kids didnt have names but have you considered older dyes? The ones not really used anymore for example. Stuff like Cochineal/Carmine, Sheele, Murex, Safflower?

It was just a thought but it made me dive into looking at dyes that went out of favor. Sheele is my favorite historically because of theh arsenic.

So, i Had this headcannon for Ink and i would like to know your opinion abt It (since your one of my fav artists) and if It would work in your inkmare multiverse(?) :D

So.. What if Ink Had like this little quirk where when he enters an AU, his outfit kind of changes to resemble the Vibe of that au. For example, if Ink was to enter Outertale, his outfit would change Subtly into space like Vibe. The changes would be Barely visible, like little stars and a Galaxy like pattern on the tails od his scarf, or changed tone of his color pallete, blush ect.

LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK ABT IT AND HOW WOULD IT WORK IN YOUR MULTIVERSE YK

That'd be pretty nice... I can see it fitting if Ink's one of those Closer to Creators™ vibes?? Like. Biological close kinda thing. Getting paints out of the AUs passively by Being There kinda close. Since I imagine their clothes are made of paint, I think it'd make sense that since their composition changed (from exposure to Particular Creator's emotion/AU) the way they looked like would reflect that!! Same w the blush/magic color like. It makes sense and I would really like to incorporate on my au somehow if it wasnt cuz I lowkey suck w designing JDJDJDKD

On my inkmare multiverse hmm. I feel like Nightmare wouldn't have noticed until his truce w Ink was a thing. Like. I feel he wouldn't have been able to see it from the distance/while fighting both because I feel like he'd think his eye's playing a trick on him and because like. He wouldn't see Ink that often?? So he'd forget the Exact Hues and probs would just. Shrug it off.

But like, once he knows Ink better in a non-violent context, this would change...!! Since in my multiverse Magic Mixture is a thing, I believe he'd assume at first Ink has lots of friends?? Cuz like. Thats a lot of diff color changes that would resemble a magic mix™. Would actually be kinda pissy about it (for a reason he can't really grasp) until Ink mentions that his outfit changes w AUs since. Outcode Stuff™

Nm would do a little. Relieved sigh at that. And then he'd try to guess cyan/purple AUs just to see how Ink would look like there. For Science™ (and also the crush settling in but he doesn't need to know that)

(Okay, I had to rant a little for this one)

As someone who has never heard of this ship before finding your blog, when you’re first introduced to this ship it’s kinda hard to see their chemistry. They don’t have a lot in common (or at least not in fanon) and only interact cuz one is the gardien and the other is disturbing the other’s job by being a menace (very evil).

It’s not a ‘opposites attract’ trope, more like a ‘you’re not as bad as I thought, guess we just needed to talk’ trope. Which is what I love about them, your interpretation of romance/chemistry for inkmare is one of the rare ones I’ve seen that just…work so well. And I’ve survived the trenches of the sans ships of 2017/18.

I like that there’s more to nm than ‘evil evil negativity sucking leach’ and more to ink than ‘can’t love anyone, also I forget everything’. Nm being big on romance is adorable, ink is sooo honest and direct and sweet. I love how in sync they are with each other, even with their movements (fo example : nm’s tentacles matching in a way ink’s contant fidgeting when they flirt/cuddle). I love their history, I love that they’re keeping it a secret, I wanna know where the lost love letter is… I love the nicknames they use for each other (like ?? my paramore ??? Amazing). Ink is very forgetful and it works wonderfully with nm’s patience. Nm’s curiosity and ink’s « idk, it’s always been like that ? Why do you need to know ?? » is wonderful too. I love how much of an asshole ink is at times lol.

Also the way they have their own different way of expressing their love to each other/flirting or responding to being flirting with is so funny and cute ! Love it ! Lots and lots of chemistry and romantic tension

Jrnfdn haiii, this is really random but like, been following for a while and every time I see your posts I remember (fondly) how I discovered inkmare? Bc I'd been aware that it existed but had never really touched on it, yk?

Bc Dream is my favorite (obvious considering my username and pfp and half of my art account) and I was an og cream fan for better or for worse, and then I also loved driller and then grew to absolutely love kross

So when I was like 15 I started writing a slow burn fic where the three of them got trapped in a distant, magic disabling Au and had to work together to escape and fall in love in the process, but as I wrote, a b-plot started materializing cause Ink and NM wouldn't just sit there if Dream, Cross and Killer disappeared

So the b-plot was just them teaming up and investigating too and I had to sit and think hard about how their pieces connect, and after a while I was so giddy in writing them and so eager to continue???

Bc their dynamic was sorta like. Ink's emotions are artificial, so NM can't read them bc they're not pos/neg energy, so for all his chaos and unhingedness, he's a strangely calm spot in a world where NM can read anyone's feelings, he can work with him around without being acutely aware of the shifts in energy and such

And in that regard they sorta reminded me of ruby and sapphire from steven universe? How sapphire can see a single timeline into the future but ruby is so incredibly spontaneous that with her, timelines split into a myriad of possible futures

And the moment I made that comparison it was over for me cause now there were a million dynamics to test with them and just writing this ask is making me wanna go and keep writing 😭

(Anyways I never finished nor posted the killercream + inkmare fic so it sits as a 40k words wip on my computer which, wow, shame)

Giving you my favorite Inkmare/Vantablack/StarryNight headcanon pack

Iirc Nightmare canonically cannot control his tentacles sometimes, sometimes they do whatever they want, so they're kinda like pets!

They show off more emotion then Nightmare does, so if Nightmare was happy but tried to not show it, his tentacles would wag like tails and give it away! That's how you can tell if he actually likes a compliment or not

They're also VERY affectionate, seeking affection from Ink if Nightmare wants it, so sometimes they swarm Ink, wrapping around his waist and arms until they get petted.

And to end this off: Despite the tentacles are partly sentient and do want, he can still control them sometimes. So he will use the excuse that he can't control them to mess with Ink. Like picking him up suddenly, squeezing him too hard, stuff like that. So whenever he does it on Purpose and Ink (or really anyone like Dream bc. Brotherly Rivalry) get mad, he just shrugs and says "they have a mind of their own, i didn't make them do that"

He always had that Little Shit energy, Ink just came in and made it worse by enabling it and it ALWAYS backfires on him

Ink would propose with a silly string he sprays on nightmare's finger in the shape of a ring with a comically large "jewel" (more silly string) and nightmare would propose with a six hour speech during a Meticulously planned date (down to the very Millisecond) and a dinner that lasts three hours and has twenty six courses

Ink dances around with fluidity and grace on the lake of colors' surface. His brush flutters about in his phalanges as images flashes by with every stroke. His feet causing ripples on the lake's surface like a delicate melody of hues and shades.

All this was witnessed by a certain king of negativity who's eyelight was drawn to every twist and turn the artist made with utter fascination and awe. His tendrils moved about, following every move Ink made.
