Making a double-knit Zelda scarf pattern! 💗🧶

There aren’t any tutorials showing how to do a twisted rib in the double knitting technique, so I thought I’d show it off.

It’s a little bit tricky because of the weird colour control, but as long as you follow the pattern & remember to split the yarn colours on the second set of stitches you can easily fall into a nice rhythm.

The centerpieces we made for our 80s/90s themed wedding. Double Dragon is a very special game for me and Sammi, so it's represented in a lot of the stuff we created for the event. A local used game store donated a bunch of broken controllers and cartridges for this project and were delighted when we gave them the prototype as a thank you. The gold one was at our couples' table and now resides in a trophy cabinet in our dining room.

and then my brother told me he also wanted to draw grian! and i started crying from how cute it was (i helped him on the hair and wings)

"you came here, you gave me a banner and said i had to swear allegiance to you. scar came over to me and said he'll fix my roof" there's something so human about that. because that's all joel ever really wanted, isn't it? against all the grandeur of the life series, all the betrayals and swords swung in unison and bridges burnt, he stands out in how little he cares about any of that. he doesn't need an army at his side, he doesn't need someone to stand at his back and lay their life down for him when the time comes. no, he cares for the simpler things, the things that almost make you forget that it's a death game. he cares for his builds and his dead bush monopoly and his silly beard that is not stuck on, thank you very much - maybe precisely so that he can forget that it's a death game. all the murder and betrayal and his own excessive bloodthirst - if he doesn't apply any of it any significance, then a game is all it is and soon enough it'll all be over and then they'll do it all again. ignoring his problems until they go away is what he's good at, and this is just the bigger of them. if he ignores this, too, if he doesn't think too deep about the blood on his fingers or the ash in his lungs, then he can wake up in a new world and build himself a helter skelter and it'll all be fine.

My phone camera continues to refuse to capture color well, but here is my last month-and-a-half long project and my first "wearable" piece that wasn't a hat/scarf/gloves type thing (barring a small toddler cardigan that I never saw my niece wear). I am crossing fingers HARD that it actually fits my mom. The drape isn't a nice as I wanted compared to the pics on the pattern, but that is likely because I always crochet too tight 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm really proud of it though! It's all gradients of green, but a lot of it comes out looking grey in the pics 🤷🏻‍♀️
