I recently bought this vintage rabbit tapestry, partially stitched, with the intention of completing it. I ended up carefully unpicking all the wool stitches because it smelt extremely musty indicating it hadn’t been stored correctly, plus I thought some of the detail had been lost (I was right) & I wanted to have matching dyelots of the wools. A few days of work & it’s ready to be re-stitched. I also unpicked a mountain tapestry my mum started before I was born.

I plan to do the bunnies using DMC soft shiny cotton. The mountains I will do as a beaded tapestry.

I feel like there’s been big progress in the set up. The holes in the top were because I had tried to put in a head harness, however once I did the straps couldn’t be shortened enough to fit my head & the strap buckle pushed against the extension I had to put on the back. So I took that off and installed basic elastic straps along with the other hardware.

The moffs insisted that I needed to do something with all the spindle singles. Gosh they were right, I have filled sooo many spindles & some bobbins. Mind you, there is some plyed yarn there that just needs finishing.

Finally started working on my caique mask. The mask is by @crystumes and she cast it using translucent resin the same colour as my birds beak. I used copics to draw in the beaks veins & shadows show they’ll show through the beak when the light hits it. I also gave the outside of the beak some shadingtoo as the resin colour shows through the resin.

Completed double knit mammoth cowl. I am so pleased with how this came together & here’s hoping it does well in this years Royal.

Finally warped up my loom again for another band. The interesting thing with this one is that the intended design is actually showing on the bottom. But the top is pretty too!

During the Black Friday sales, I splurged on some cotton cakes from Hobbii. They only arrived a little over a week ago & I started up this Genmaicha Tea wrap using one of the limited edition colourways. I’m not sure if I want to keep this, but I am loving the sunset colours.

This was based on a wild game chicken I saw on Kaua’i.

I made a doll sized Elizabethan ruff collar for Raykur. I now have a dapper boy. 🧐

Decided to make a decorative scarf for the teddy bear. Yarns are handspun from the 2023 WoW advent box & the scarf will have tassels on the ends.

Completed crochet shawl made using my handspun. Yarn is WoW Dragons Breath colourway which is 80% merino and 20% mulberry silk.

Pattern is the Darjeeling Tea shawl by RedTeaPotAtelier.

Raykur decided he wanted an Elizabethan ruff suitable for upper class spooking. So he got to work (with a little bit of human help)…

I have been picking away at this project for literal years. Finally, this teddy is assembled & the shading is completed. Now to make some accessories to finish this snuggle bear off.

The long awaited double knitted twisted rib bind off method is finally here! Big shout out to the genius in my fibre community who developed this method for me and graciously allowed it to be shared. Happy knitting!
