I found out the jeweler I got my engagement ring from is a raging antisemite. Obviously won't be purchasing anything else from them. Does anyone happen to know any jewish-owned jewelers for wedding bands? I'd like to specifically spend my money at a Jewish business after all this.
Oof, sorry this happened.

May I randomly commision the artists of Jumblr to draw Shlomo Molcho's Tzitzit? This might not sound like the most interesting concept, but this is a cloth that has created various Halachic precedents: it was made of silk and the tzitziot are also silk - unlike most Tzitziot, in which at least the hanging threads are wool; the hanging threads were the same color of the cloth, which wasn't white or azure/Techelet; and it appers that the 10-5-6-5 for the number of times the longest thread goes around between the knots thing started with him.
I should probably find a more specific artist and commission drawings of both him and David Reubeni, but I honestly don't know what to do with that. I'm not much of an artist myself, and I don't really know anyone who might be willing to do this.

Gaza, my beautiful city..🇵🇸🍉
I don't know, should I take video of the devastation to capture your attention? Or am I doing it to mourn my small and beautiful city?
Not a single stone is left on top of another, yet it still resides in my heart. I love it even when it is destroyed, shattered, and torn apart.

Today isn’t just another day…
Today is my birthday.
In another world, I might have celebrated with my family, blown out candles on a cake, and wished for a brighter future. But here, in G@za, wishes feel like a luxury I can’t afford.
Today, I blow out candles under the shadow of darkness. I dream of a safe life for my little baby, of warm milk to fill his tiny stomach, and of moments of peace away from the sounds of bombs and sirens.
My birthday is not just for me; it’s for every mother fighting for a dignified life for her children, for every child crying in hunger at night, and for every dream struggling to stay alive.
If you can, please, make my wish come true today. Share my story. Let my voice reach people who might have the power to help. Not because I want anything for myself, but because I’m fighting for a better life for my child.
Today, I ask for just one gift: that you become part of this journey.
I’ve been verified by Nabulsi, El-Shab Hussien, and NorthGazaUpdate, 90-ghost, and I’m listed on the vetted list on 279 line.

LOYALTY TO LOVE / SOLIDARITY BEYOND STATES, 2024
queer as in fuck genocide. queer as in fuck nationalism, borders, surveillance & repression. queer as in fuck the cycles of violence that fascists grow by scattering seeds of fear & anger in the bloody soil of collective trauma. queers know safety will never come from the state, only from each other.
for years Zionists have been telling me how "stupid" and "self-hating" i am as a queer/trans anti-Zionist Jew, citing Israel's supposed (pinkwashed) status as a "haven" for people like me. this total erasure/dehumanization of queer & trans Palestinians has always disgusted me. queer Israeli "safety" is a lie, but even if it was true, i want no part of it at the expense of occupation & genocide. the only way forward is embracing each other in direct opposition to those who profit off endless violence.
this piece was made entirely in Procreate (with True Grit Texture Supply's Rusty Nib engraver brushes & Adilson Farias' watercolor brushes). hoping to get some prints made & use a percentage of the profits to support Operation Olive Branch's direct aid initiatives - stay tuned.

There’s a teaching in Judaism that one should carry two notes, one in each pocket. One should say “I am but dust and ashes,” and the other should say “the whole world was created for me.” They are seen as opposites; you check one when you’re feeling down on yourself and the other when you’re feeling especially full of yourself. The idea is to maintain balance, but I think the way to achieve full harmony is to realize how they are saying the same thing.
That’s why I have imagined them as a carbon atom. Carbon is a main component of dust (and ashes), but also one of the main building blocks of life. Carbon simultaneously encompasses all. It’s in us, it’s in the stars, the planets, the trees. We are built to exist, yet we are also the building blocks of existence. If we keep both in mind, we can live in balance all the time.

As Halloween approaches, I’ve been seeing many very talented makeup artists recreate the face of the bride in Tim Burton’s “The Corpse Bride.” I thought this would be a good oppertunity to make some art and remind one and all that the “The Corpe Bride” (known in some tellings as “The Finger” or “The Demon in the Tree) is a beloved Jewish folktale. Folklorist Howard Schwartz traces the orgins of “The Finger” to 16th century Levant. Aftrer hundreds of years of retelling, the story, like all folktales, has undergone many iterations and also became highly informed by the violence of life in the Pale of Settlement (specifically towards women and young brides).
If you'd like to support me, you can do so here <3
