Was thinking about conjoined twin reptiles lately, and it made me think about how some of my fictional species might be affected by being born/hatched with body differences. Here are some examples of how one of my sophonts, Thitherians, might appear if they hatch as conjoined twins. Obviously, they vary based on what stage of development they began to separate. I didn't include it the physical drawing, but the later separation pair (pictured in the second image) would likely have similar balance/posture issues as the "two headed" pair in the first image, and thus would likely benefit from a similar mobility aid. The middle pair of fused legs may also be weakened, depending on their specific anatomy, and so they may also benefit from a or a pair of custom braces for added support. (Note, the mobility aid pictured in the first image on the left is still being developed and has changed to have 3 wheels since I drew it here several days ago.)

Free Manual Wheelchair Reference Models

For disability pride month, I decided to release a pack of 3D manual wheelchair models.

The pack includes 5 wheelchairs:

2 Active urban-style chairs (one of which includes a smart drive)

1 off-road active chair

1 children's wheelchair

and 1 standard "hospital" wheelchair).

All the wheelchairs are based off either wheelchairs I or friends of mine have used

The first download link includes the original .Blend file with all 5 chairs, as well as individual .obj or .fbx files the chairs (All but 1 have an .obj file, as they're only meshes. The chair with the smart drive is rigged, which is why it has an .Fbx file instead so it will retain that information) as well as a "read me" file that explains in more depth what kind of disability/character/lifestyle each chair is made for (These are just what I had in mind when I designed them, they are usable by other characters who don't fit the suggestions for the most part!) I wanted to include the Read Me contents in the CSP Asset Store listing, but CS said it was too long lol.

Also, as the title says, these files are free to use! While it's not mandatory, I would appreciate credit if you use them (or even just a tag so I can see the cool art you make with them!!)

I actually made these ages ago, the original plan was to use them in a series of posts then release the pack, but I never got around to making the series and so they've just been sitting here. I took a day off from art fight attacks to clean them all up and get them ready to post. If you experience any issues, let me know and I'll try to fix it up.

I had a couple more that were supposed to be in the pack including a sports (basketball/Tennis) wheelchair and some different styles of wheelchair, but I think the files corrupted so once I fix (or remake) them, I'll probably make a second pack.

I noticed how I never see photos of goths with mobility aids so I am being photos of goth with mobility aids.

I could not figure out the doohicky to the hacking to the main frame to get a photo of myself actually using my cane so this was the best I could manage. I fear my hands cannot manage such an act and I am still not entirely sure if I believe in the concept of cameras *ye olde honking*

And thy annual reminder, that mobility aids or visible indicators of disability don’t make you not goth. Scars, speech impairments, mobility aids, sensory issues that make it so you can’t wear “gothic” makeup or clothes, anything of the like do not make you less goth. Disabled people are part of the goth subculture.

(I am a minor do not sexualise me, inappropriate behaviour will be blocked and reported. This should go without saying but this is not a sexual post in the slightest).

wheelchair design for original character n frame ended up being way too complicated n it going make me not want draw them much idk why did that

character is high support needs developmental disability n so typical style low back rest ultralight not enough hence chair is Not Like That. is in fantasy magical setting n magic bring some accessibility, n weight is non issue part because of that part because even most boring wheelchair w high back rest n headrest n etc going be heavy as fuck so some extra weight from decoration really not going matter.

frame is golden & swirly n decorated like those antique european royal chair/couches thingie

good ol big wheel forget draw push rim pretend it there

seat n back itself also in style of those antique royal chairs but in light blue. is tilted & has dump. has headrest n same color

have stroller style push handles bc those easier push for caregiver with one hand if they doing something on the other hand

have angel wing attached to back to seat that is power assist. controlled by angel halo like joystick & is right where usual right handed joystick is, tho can be removed n wear like bracelet n control movement that way for more dynamic flow

idea is can tilt in space can recline can elevate like CRT powerchairs despite manual chair style bc like look & hybrid better… still thinking about specifics of how do that but again magical setting most likely going be frame metal shifting n swirly swirl help w that

Hi hi! Can you do a tutorial for drawing William's syndrome? I have William's syndrome and a friend said they wanted to draw me a character with it but I don't know how to explain the features good and my friend does better with references anyways

Hi! Currently, I don't think I have enough experience with drawing characters with William's, but I'll keep this ask in mind in case that changes. I have an OC with it but I haven't gotten to actually drawing him yet, maybe it's a sign I should start researching lol

@/raydrawsdaly and @/rainbow-banana-slug are some artists that have drawn characters with William's syndrome before, maybe looking at how they go about drawing it could help your friend with figuring out how to draw it in their style?

This is part of my husband's BOOdoir series that he does every year in the month of October. He started it after he drew a picture of me that I really liked. I told him I had never really seen someone like me (upper limb amputee) represented in art before. It meant a lot to me. He really took it to heart and started this lovely inclusive pinup series 🖤
