KALAFINA REUNION 📢IT'S TRUE📢
Why did I even go to bed last night??! Damn it, I lost precious time. Anways, many of you must have seen my post last night about that ominous Nikkan Sports article speculating about a possible comeback of Kalafina. I honestly thought it was fake news since it contained a ton of unconfirmed/uncredited information. However, there was lots of interesting stuff that kept me from dismissing it entirely. I mean, who would go through all the trouble coming up with details such as specific quotes or exact concert details? Turns out they mostly got the dates mixed up but the rest was true. At noon Japanese Standard Time, we got all of our official announcements. Here's the gist of it〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→
Kalafina Staff Posts 1 & 2 on Twitter

Keiko Posts 1 & 2 on Twitter & Fan Club Site & Tristone & Instagram post
To all our supporters We have decided to hold a "Kalafina Anniversary LlVE 2025". Through my solo activities and activities with FictionJunction, I have had many new encounters and taken on new challenges, and I am where I am today thanks to the support of many people. This is a personal matter, but the reason I took a break from singing and then decided to sing again was because of Yuki Kajiura's music. And it was the feelings of everyone who has supported us up until now that led to this event. I am grateful for those feelings, and I am simply happy that the three of us can deliver Kalafina's music again. I am truly looking forward to seeing you all next year. KEIKO
Hikaru's Post on Twitter and Instagram
To everyone who always supports us We are happy to announce that we'll be holding a "Kalafina Anniversary LlVE 2025". Even during my solo activities, I always got a strong sense of everyone's love for Kalafina. I'm grateful we are getting this opportunity to sing together again as a trio and to perform all those treasured songs which Yuki Kajiura has written for us. I hope we can raise a new flag together with all of you. I look forward to seeing you there that day! 2024.10.03 Hikaru
Wakana Posts on Twitter & Botanical Land & Instagram post
(We finally have an official statement from Wakana on her Insta) It has been decided that an "Kalafina Anniversary LIVE 2025" will be held on January 15th next year. From 2018 to the present, we have each pursued our own music, but we have decided to sing together again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who always think of and love Kalafina. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all.
Satoshi Takebe Tweet 1 & Tweet 2 & Tweet 3 (deleted)
Today I had a meeting with some artists I truly respect and had a beer in the middle of the day 🍺 We had a fun afternoon. I hope there will be lots of fun things to do next year too. I can't say anything yet, but I'm already working on some exciting projects!! (Tweet 1)
I believe that my mission is to support artists. It is never my intention to betray or hurt people. That is the one thing I have always stayed true to, and I will continue to do so. It may sound naive, but I believe that sincerity and passion are what motivate people. (Tweet 2)
Due to confidentiality obligations, I cannot explain the situation. However, Kajiura-san is an artist I respect, she's a wonderful musician, and I am a fan of the music she creates. I would like to support the three members with the utmost respect. (Tweet 3 - deleted)
Tweet by Yuki Kajiura & Tweet 2 & Tweet 3
Regarding Kalafina I've received some inquiries in relation to the most recent announcement of an upcoming Kalafina Live Concert so I'd like to use this opportunity to clarify that I, Yuki Kajiura, will not have no involvement whatsoever in this concert. Furthermore, I have not received any advance notice or explanation from the organisers or any of the group members. Given the situation, I am therefore unable to answer any questions. I apologise, but any future inquiries regarding Kalafina should be directed at the organisers and official agencies of the group members.
I believe the members of Kalafina have decided to step away from me as their producer to go on a new path that is not related to me. I had been searching for a way to work together again in the future to create new Kalafina music but that will no longer be happening. It is very unfortunate but this is the road that each member has chosen. We are all individuals searching for our personal musical path so things like this happen.
As you all know, the three of them are truly wonderful singers so I have no doubt that they will continue to deliver amazing vocals and music to their fans. I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again for the privilege and happiness of having been able to create music together with them for nearly ten years, and I wish Kalafina continued success in the future.
Yuki Kajiura (Tweet 1)
I hope for a great success regarding the upcoming concert, and that's all I can say about this. I hope to continue making music in a cheerful and fun way in the future (^^). (Tweet 2)
This may be an unnecessary remark, but… there's no way that Kalafina will no longer be able to sing their past songs just because one producer has left, and I personally don't wish that upon them.
I'm sure they'll create a wonderful harmony at their live show in January, so I hope you'll give thunderous cheers and applause to Kalafina's singing and to the musicians who support them on stage. Once again, I wish them all the success in the world. (Tweet 3)
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Wow. All of this is wild. I don't even know what to say. I can hardly believe it. On one hand, I am beyond happy and excited. There's no way I will not be there for this concert and everything beyond that. But on the other hand, all the announcements make this feel a little bittersweet. The personal statements by Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru don't necessarily feel disingenuous but they sound a bit flat and forced. Sadly, there's no personal statement from Wakana yet. Obviously, the elephant in the room is Yuki Kajiura's statement and her exclusion from the entire project. The way her statement is written comes off as quite bitter, passive aggressive and honestly a little petty which doesn't bode well for the future (maybe her manager Mori asked her to phrase it in such a way to make the organisers look bad. And I can understand why she would feel frustrated at being excluded like that). Mostly, I interpret her standoffish attitude as a knee-jerk reaction or as a way to strongly distance herself from the whole thing and not so much as an attempt to bash the members (the latter half of the statement would indicate that at least). Also, she already seems to regret posting such a harsh statement and posted a couple of follow-up tweets. I truly do not understand what is going on behind the scenes to cause so much hostility between Yuki Kajiura, her management and whoever is pulling the strings for this Kalafina reunion (presumably Space Craft's management). My best guess is that Space Craft is at least somehow involved in this project since both Wakana and Satoshi Takebe are able to participate (Takebe is not affiliated with Space Craft but he's been in charge of almost all of Wakana's solo work so maybe there are some ties to the agency). It looks like Space Craft are adamant about not working together with YK (same old childish attitude). Then again, Satoshi Takebe has enough influence in the industry to organise a project like this without the help of Space Craft. Maybe Sony is also involved? I have no idea. Hope we are getting more details once the ticket lotteries start. A new Kalafina website (still being developed) has popped up and it's run by Space Craft so that's probably proof enough that they are one of the main players in all of this.
I wonder if this was a spur of the moment thing once they realised how much hype there still exists for Kalafina after that "ring your bell" performance at the FSN event...Overall, the timing is so weird, Why now? I mean, this doesn't sound like it has been in the making for a very long time based on the fact that Yuki Kajiura didn't even know about it. Keiko and Hikaru literally collaborated with her a couple of weeks ago so how did this topic not come up even once???! Wonder how it will affect future collaborations between Yuki, Keiko and Hikaru? They still have the Asia tour dates coming up in November so I can imagine it would be kinda awkward to work together after this bomb has been dropped. Will they still be covering Kalafina songs? Either way, I refuse to believe tha there has been a real falling out between any of them. It comes across like a series of unfortunate events. Maybe some miscommunication and rushed action but nothing that couldn't be cleared up with a proper conversation.
One thing I'm also curious about is whether or not Satoshi Takebe will take on the role as producer for future music (if they are even planning to go down that route?? It does sound like they might have new projects/releases in store for us...I do feel a little conflicted about that since Yuki Kajiura is such an important component of Kalafina. This is basically what I thought would happen back in 2018/2019. With someone else coming in to take charge of the music production. Back then I wasn't completely against the idea since I was convinced the girls could make it work (especially with the help of someone as established and competent as Satoshi Takebe) but it certainly wasn't my preferred option. Ughhh, I will remain open-minded for the time being. My love for Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru goes beyond anything so as of right now, I feel happy and excited. The live in January will be a celebration of Kalafina so there's no way I'm not going. If they continue to hold "tribute" concerts like this, it will mostly be a nostalgic cash-grab but hey, I'm the target group for that. They can have all my money. And I can definitely see myself supporting them in future projects even with Yuki Kajiura out of the picture. Takebe has been engaging in some surprisingly frank one-on-one discussions on Twitter and so far, it looks like certain confidentiality agreements keep him from going into detail in the matter but his involvement as of right now is limited to being a director/producer for the concert on January 15.
It goes without saying that I will not tolerate any hate towards the girls on this blog! If you are bitter that Yuki Kajiura is not involved, that's your prerogative, I'm sure this will antagonise quite a few hardcore YK fans. But please, don't shit on the members for making this decision. I'm sure they put a lot of thought into it and felt like this course of action was in everyone's best interest. They are clearly thinking about the fans, their own passion/love for Kalafina's music and obviously their careers within the industry.

Entertainment Weekly just placed Dead Boy Detectives on their "Top 19 Best Supernatural Shows to Stream Right Now" list.
Mind you, Dead Boy Detectives is making these lists AFTER cancelation! IT RANKED AT NUMBER 5/19 (and beat out some pretty big names, I might add). The EW is a hugely popular publication! It's so bonkers to me that Netflix would cancel such a highly beloved, successful show that I had to write them about it, yet again!
If you need inspiration to keep talking about Dead Boy Detectives and hold out hope that we can save this show, THIS should help. Keep streaming, keep promoting it EVERYWHERE, keep creating for it, and for the love of all things wonderful keep bothering Netflix. This show shouldn't have been canceled, and we need to keep reminding them of what a poor decision they're making. ESPECIALLY with GeekedWeek coming up, we need to be SUPER noisy for and about Dead Boy Detectives.
A transcript of the email I sent out today can be found below the cut! A list of Netflix exec emails can be found HERE.
!!!! Note: you can use my email as a framework or as inspiration, but DO NOT copy and paste it word-for-word, or else it will be marked as spam !!!!
Dear [Insert Recipient's Name],
I hope this email finds you well! I previously reached out regarding Netflix's unfortunate decision to cancel Dead Boy Detectives, but since our previous correspondence, there have been several articles admonishing the surprising and untimely cancelation of Dead Boy Detectives. The publications include but are not limited to BamSmackPow, CBR, CHIP, Quotenmeter, Serienjunkies, Serienfuchs, Filmstarts, Movie Pilot, Kino, Vodafone Deutschland, Dread Central, Pop Culture, Sentidog, Geek Girl Authority. and Animation World Network.
Three notable articles have come out post-cancelation that I'd like to highlight due to their succinct, well-informed perspectives on why canceling Dead Boy Detectives was a poor decision are as follows:
The Death of 'Dead Boy Detectives' Was Untimely by Lacy Baugher at Tellyvisions.org
Dead Boy Detectives: The Latest Casualty in a Concerning Trend of LGBTQ+ Show Cancellations by Sam Huang at TellTaleTV.com
Netflix made a grave mistake canceling 'Dead Boy Detectives' by David Opie at YahooNews
It would be remiss of me not to emphasize how these publications are not just central to the US and UK; the cancelation of Dead Boy Detectives is being reported and scrutinized internationally, in several languages and countries.
What truly prompted me to contact you again is an article that was released by Entertainment Weekly today, September 11, 2024. In the article, "The Best 19 Supernatural Shows to Stream Right Now," EW placed Dead Boy Detectives in the #5 slot: it outranked other shows on your platform such as Stranger Things (#13) and Wednesday (#18). The Sandman, the show which Dead Boy Detectives is a spinoff of, is notably not present on the list at all. You can find the article here on ew.com.
Dead Boy Detectives was also ranked as the #1 Best DC Live Action Show available on Netflix by MovieWeb, outranking titles such as The Flash (which has a whopping 9 seasons), Lucifer (a show that was so loved by fans that Netflix picked it up after its own untimely cancelation, mind you) and, yet again, The Sandman.
All this to say, Dead Boy Detectives is still making "Best of" lists even after its cancellation, and it is ranking exceedingly well on said lists! This speaks volumes in and of itself; people are just as outraged today as they were the day it was canceled and it's abundantly clear that critics and audiences alike love this show and want to see more of it! You have a hit show on your hands that is growing in popularity daily, meaning Netflix truly has everything to gain by listening to customers and rethinking this objectively unpopular and unfounded decision.
Please do not waste the immense potential of this incredible show that means so much to so many people. I appreciate your consideration today and implore you to listen to the outcries of fans and critics alike, to do right by the cast and crew of Dead Boy Detectives, and ultimately repeal its cancelation.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

…the colossal screw up of Archie's birth announcement
I was not following the royals back then, so I am completely out of the loop with what was happening when Archie was born. There’s so much noise and theories littering this space, that it’s hard to delineate what is actually the screw up and where the theories start and how far plausible goes before it turns into crazy. Do you have a record or write-up you can point me to?
Totally okay if you want to just ignore this ask, though. I know this topic invites unhelpful inputs from people.
Hey, everyone, it's Wednesday! Guess what that means...yup, a super long research project to the dulcet sounds of Top Chef.
I think I'll just give you the whole timeline and then some since there's a lot of debate and discussion around both things.
The Pregnancy
October 12, 2018: Princess Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbanks. Meghan wears a dark navy dress and coat. Only the top buttons of her coat are done, causing immediate speculation that she's expecting.
October 15, 2018: Kensington Palace announces that Harry and Meghan are expecting and the baby is due in the springtime. The royal rota is informed by Jason Knauf over a cell phone in the airport, as they were already in Australia to begin coverage of the Sussexes' tour.
Now, usually when the palace makes these kind of announcements, there's a separate briefing for the royal rota with a few additional details for them to write about. In Rebecca English's article about the pregnancy announcement, she reveals that Meghan had had her 12-week scan, the baby is due in late April 2019, and that they were telling everyone at Eugenie's wedding. The article also reveals that Meghan will visit Tonga and Fiji despite the Zika risk (pregnant women are advised not to travel to areas with the Zika virus due to the risk Zika poses to their baby); it's a controversial decision.
October 15, 2018: Harry and Meghan are papped arriving in Sydney, leaving the airport. Meghan is holding two purple binders, leading to speculation that they are expecting boy-girl twins.
Pippa Middleton gives birth to her first child on October 15th (though it isn't announced for a bit), stealing some of the Sussexes' coverage.
October 15 - 31, 2018: Harry and Meghan are in Australia for the Sydney Invictus Games. They also tour New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji. There is a ton of gossip and tea about the tour. Meghan is also photographed with a very inconsistent baby belly - sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
Also during this time (and into November) is the Sussex press tsunami when these stories were breaking:
"What Meghan wants, Meghan gets"
Meghan smells tastes eggs that aren't there
Meghan made Kate cry
Sussexes are moving out of Kensington Palace
The Sussexes' office is moving to Buckingham Palace; they'll be part of the resource pool that also represents Anne, Yorkies, Edward, Sophie, Kents, and Gloucesters.
Sussexes are leaving The Royal Foundation and setting up The SussexRoyal Foundation.
November 24, 2018: The palace announces that Harry and Meghan are moving to Frogmore Cottage. They will renovate the property from five staff apartments to ten bedrooms, a nursery, a gym, and a yoga studio.
December 18, 2018: Meghan makes a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards to recognize Clare Waight Keller (her wedding dress designer) as the British Womenswear Designer of the Year. Allegedly she crashed the event unexpectedly. She is photographed groping her belly the whole time while on stage presenting.
December 25, 2018: During the Christmas walkabout after church, Meghan tells fans that she is "nearly there". It causes confusion because the palace had briefed reporters two months earlier that it was an April baby.
**Anon, this Christmas walk where Meghan says "nearly there" re the baby's due date is where it starts veering off the rails.**
January 14, 2019: Meghan, with Harry, visits Birkenhead for an away day. At the end of the visit when they are leaving, Meghan is observed by some to have lost her belly while developing a new bulge around her mid/lower thighs. (YMMV.)
January 16, 2019: Meghan visits the Mayhew Animal House during the day, in which some people claim to observe her belly folding in and then popping out and others claim to hear a loud popping noise when she stands up. (YMMV.) Later, in the evening, she attends a Cirque du Soleil performance at Royal Albert Hall. This is the night that, as she tells Oprah in March 2021, she felt suicidal and had been crying all day up until just before arriving at the Hall.
February 15 - 20, 2019: Meghan is in New York City to attend a baby shower thrown in her honor by Serena Williams. She stays at the Mark Hotel. Abigail Spencer merches Away luggage. Jess Mulroney and Amal Clooney are some of the guests. Markus Anderson unexpectedly shows up and allegedly, Meghan is upset to see him. There's a ton of paparazzi, which Meghan loves, and the Mark Hotel ropes off the sidewalk for her, which she also loves.
There is a CDAN blind about the baby shower, alleging that Meghan had asked (maybe demanded) the BRF for one but they refused because it's not what they do.
The baby shower causes a lot of questions. There's one instance where Meghan returns from a night out holding a large purse over her stomach area, which is unusual because in every photo since October, Meghan is always showing off her belly.
Meghan leaves NYC by a private jet via Teterboro Airport, assumed to be Amal Clooney's private jet.
This is the end of the Meghan/Amal friendship, as on March 15, 2019, Clarence House announces a partnership between Prince Charles and Amal Clooney establishing the Amal Clooney Award from Prince's Trust International.
February 23 - 25, 2019: Harry and Meghan are in Morocco for an official visit by request of the Foreign Office.
There's speculation that Meghan was planning to attend the Oscars (which are held on February 24, 2019) and allegedly, the BRF caught wind of it and created the Morocco tour to keep her focused on royal work.
Edited to add: After checking my spreadsheet, I realized I missed one - related to speculation/gossip about Meghan attending the Oscars, there’s additional speculation that the BRF planned the Morocco trip to force Meghan to come home from NYC. (I kind of suspect this may be the origin of “they took my passport” claims as told to Oprah because supposedly the palace was upset she had the baby shower and upset she’d gone out of the country to do so.)
March 5, 2019: When Harry and Meghan crash Charles's celebration of the 50th anniversary of his Prince of Wales investiture, Meghan tells people she is "nearly there" still, according to Us Weekly. Us Weekly also reports that a Sussex source had briefed them that the baby was due in the late March/early April timeframe.
March 14, 2019: Commonwealth Day Service. Kensington Palace indirectly confirms that this is Meghan's last appearance before the baby arrives and she is beginning maternity leave.
March 19, 2019: Meghan suspends her maternity leave to visit the New Zealand embassy with Harry to lay flowers in a tribute to victims of a mosque shooting. Meghan, who is photographed cradling her belly, is also photographed squatting down with knees and feet together, causing questions as some observe that it looks like her belly has completely disappeared.
April 2, 2019: Meghan, with Harry, is papped visiting an apothecary shop.
April 4, 2019: Harry and Meghan are confirmed to have moved into Frogmore Cottage.
The Birth
Note: All items italicized and in red are timings we learned after the fact. Items in "regular" font (not italicized and black) is the timing that happened live on May 6.
May 5, 2019, late in the evening: Meghan and Doria are driven to the Portland Hospital.
May 6, 2019, 5:26am GMT: Meghan gives birth after two epidurals According to Harry in Spare, it was a traumatic birth, potentially complicated, but an emergency c-section was not discussed with Meghan as Harry declined to tell her what was going on. Also, Harry gets high on laughing gas and the nurse disapprove.
May 6, 2019, 7:26am GMT: Harry, Meghan, and Baby Boy Sussex are home from the hospital (from Spare).
May 6, 2019, 1:30pm GMT: Sky News is selected as the pool broadcaster for the birth announcement when a Sussex spokesperson (probably Sara Latham) reaches out to Sky News to coordinate coverage for a statement Harry will make soon.
May 6, 2019, 1:50pm GMT: The palace announces Meghan has gone into labor and is at the hospital. Sky News has the exclusive story owing to the earlier conversation with Sussex representatives.
May 6, 2019, 2:15pm GMT: Harry records his statement about the baby's birth from a stable in Windsor. He speaks about the baby being born early in the morning. Horses make an appearance.
May 6, 2019, 2:37pm GMT: Harry and Meghan announce the birth of Baby Boy Sussex. The palace follows up with more details, including that the baby was born at 5:26am.
The palace's announcement raises questions, as the language used to describe the birth is different from the language used on all the other royal birth announcements.
The traditional birth announcement: {Title} has been safely delivered of a {son or daughter} at {time} today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. {signatures of medical staff} {date}
This language has been used for the Cambridges (George, Charlotte, and Louis), the Waleses (William and Harry), the Yorks (Beatrice and Eugenie), the Phillipses (Peter and Zara), the Edinburghs (Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward), the Brooksbanks (August and Ernie), and the Wessexes (Louise and James).
The Sussexes' birth announcement: The Queen and the Royal Family are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. 06 May, 2019.
Immediately causing questions was the verb choice "was" (versus "has been"). From a grammar perspective, "was" is used to describe something that had already happened at a specific point in the past. "Has been" is a verb tense used to talk about an ongoing event - something that started in the past but is still happening. Looking at the language in the birth announcements, and examining it through the grammar only:
When George's birth was announced, Kate was still in the birthing process but it was a safe delivery. Which makes sense; birth doesn't end when the baby pops out - there's afterbirth, there's the hormone evacuation (for lack of a better word), there's the organs moving back into place, etc. She's still in the hospital receving care.
When Archie's birth was announced, Meghan had already completed giving birth. She was no longer in the hospital, already at home.
Causing even bigger questions was the missing medical staff.
Reporters immediately begin asking questions about the timing of the announcements, where the baby was born, who delivered the baby, and why everyone was told she was in labor when she had already given birth.
May 6, 2019, 2:40pm GMT: Harry's pre-recorded statement with Sky News is broadcast. When he begins speaking, the chyron says "Meghan is in labor." After he announces the baby's birth "early this morning," the chyron changes to "Meghan has given birth."
May 7, 2019, 12:28pm GMT: Palace officials apologize for the bungled birth announcement but there are no explanations or clarifications made.
May 8, 2019: Harry and Meghan announce the baby's name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. They have a photocall with the baby in St. George's Hall, Windsor Castle, in which Harry says the infamous quote "babies change so much in two weeks." Later, they take photos with The Queen, Prince Philip, and Doria.
The photocall and the photos aren't without controversy. Royal-watchers and Windsor locals pinpoint two: May 8th is actually a very wet and overcast day in Windsor, so how did they get sunlight streaming in through the windows? And second (admittedly this one I don't understand), there's a question about either The Queen's clothes or the timing of the photo - she's supposed to be at the Royal Windsor Horse Show? Something to do with horses? - that people are confused by.
May 9, 2024: Harry goes to The Hague for Invictus Games 2020 kickoff events. (It has echoes of Charles leaving Diana just hours after Harry is born to go play polo.)
Afterwards
May 12, 2019: Mother's Day in the US. The Sussexes post a picture of Meghan holding Archie's feet in a field of forget-me-nots.
May 17, 2019: Archie's birth certificate is released. Harry doesn't have the right title.
June 6, 2019: Archie's birth certificate is updated to correct Harry's title and change Meghan's name from Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex to Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.
June 8, 2019: Trooping the Colors. Meghan pauses her maternity leave to attend. She and Harry ride in a carriage with Kate and Camilla. Six things happen that everyone notices:
Meghan stares down Kate many times throughout the carriage procession.
When the royals are coming out onto the balcony for the flypast, Kate - carrying Louis (in his balcony debut) - walks out towards the right side of the balcony, by Andrew, while William veers to the left. William calls to Kate and she turns to join him, George, and Charlotte on the left side of the balcony. Harry and Meghan later come out on the right side, near to where the Cambridges would have been.
The Queen comes out onto the balcony and Meghan sees an opening to move in next to her, but then Andrew suddenly moves in, blocking Meghan. Anne moves in next to Andrew behind The Queen, effectively blocking the Sussexes from moving in.
When Meghan turns to speak to Harry, he sternly tells her to turn around. This happens twice. The second time, Meghan does an awkward shuffle to turn around and she starts rapidly blinking her eyes and clenching her jaw.
When The Queen is leaving the balcony after the flypast, Harry and Meghan bow/curtsy, suggesting that they were late arriving to Buckingham Palace before the parade to have properly greeted The Queen.
Meghan tries to speak to George as he passes by and he throws up a 'talk to the hand'-esque wave at her.
Allegedly, Harry and Meghan were set to have their own carriage at Trooping (as they did in 2019) but the BRF had concerns they would be booed and were thrown in with Kate and Camilla at the last minute. Allegedly, Harry didn't like this because he knew it was a demotion to go from their own carriage to riding backwards in someone else's carriage; when there's a group riding together, protocol requires the senior royals to face forward with junior royals facing backwards.
Also Meghan talks to herself.
I can't find a good video of the balcony so if anyone has one, please share!
June 17, 2019: Father's Day. The Sussexes post a new photo of Harry holding baby Archie. Harry is flipping everyone off and Archie's face is partially obscured.
June 27, 2019: SussexRoyal Instagram announces that the Sussexes will travel to South Africa in autumn. They indirectly announce that Archie will join them.
July 6, 2019: Archie's christening at Windsor Castle. Harry and Meghan decline to announce who his godparents are, citing privacy. The portraits are the first time we see Archie's face in full. They raise questions. Some people observe that the perspective/scale of William and Kate is off from the rest of the group. Others observe that Kate's chair is missing a leg. Others observe that the reflections behind the Spencer sisters and Doria are off.
Ahead of the christening service, William and Kate are papped driving into Windsor Castle. In the pap photo, both are wearing blue; Kate a blue dress or sweater and William a light blue casual shirt but in the released portraits, William is wearing a starched white shirt and Kate a pink outfit. There's some discussion that they changed at Windsor before the service but there's also something wonky going on with the metadata in the photos.
July 10, 2019: William and Harry play polo for charity. Kate, the kids, and Meghan attend. Meghan brings Archie. The lack of interaction between Kate and Meghan gets noticed quickly, as does Meghan seeming not to know what to do with Archie: she holds him for the whole outing, he seems poorly dressed (no hat or sun covering), and he doesn't move/Meghan doesn't change his position.
Allegedly, Meghan wasn't supposed to go to the polo match. Supposedly she had heard that Chelsy was there and hightailed it over with Archie to keep her man in line. (Yuck, I felt gross just writing that.)
July 14, 2019: Meghan breaks maternity leave again to attend the European premiere of The Lion King: Live-Action edition in London with Harry, who cancelled an event with the Royal Marines for this. Harry is caught on a hot mike pitching Bob Isner (Disney's CEO) about Meghan doing a voiceover.
July 26, 2019: According to The Sun, Harry and Meghan's neighbors in Windsor have been sent rules for interacting with the royals that include don't approaching the couple, speak only when spoken to, don't pet the dogs, and don't ask about the baby. Buckingham Palace denies that Harry and Meghan knew this was happening.
July 28, 2019: Meghan breaks her maternity leave again to guest-edit British Vogue's September 2019 edition, Forces for Change. There's controversy:
Allegedly Meghan was asked by the BRF if she was doing this and she kept telling them no.
Harry interviewed Jane Goodall for the edition, in which he made a comment that he and Meghan were only having two children for the environment. (The Sussexes eventually get some kind of award for this.)
Meghan interviews Michelle Obama over a lunch of fish tacos. It turns out that the interview was conducted over email.
Accusations of plagiarism, as an Australian magazine already did this something like this with a very similar front cover layout.
Also, just because: Inside Meghan Markle's disastrous attempt to edit Vogue magazine - new book 'Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.'
And throughout July and August, Harry and Meghan are getting flack for racking up private air miles despite being environmentalists. They do four back-to-back private flights across Europe with Archie. On one of these trips, they meet David Sherborne, Elton John's lawyer and off to the lawsuit races we go.
The Queen invites them to Balmoral to join the family but the Sussexes decline, allegedly because Archie was too young to fly. (Mm-hmm, and then they take him on four flights to Europe.)
September 6, 2019: The Sussexes' itinerary for their Africa tour is released. As part of the tour, Harry will visit Angola and copy Diana's famous de-mining walk.
September 12, 2019: Meghan's maternity leave ends with an announcement introducing Smart Set, a capsule collection from her friends that benefit Smart Works. Meghan gives a speech that ends awkwardly when she says she needs to leave because it's "feed time."
September 23 - October 2, 2019: Harry, Meghan, and Archie travel to South Africa, Malawi, Angola, and Botswana. Meghan tries to merch Archie's clothes from H&M but it gets shut down pretty quickly. Archie's first official engagement is to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu, which SussexRoyal cringely calls 'Arch, meet Arch.' Meghan gives her infamous "no one asked me if I'm okay" interview in which she discusses her post-partum challenges as a "young mom" and her mental health distress. Harry gets in a tiff with one of the royal reporters, snapping at her "you know what you did" when she tries to ask a clarifying question.
Princess Beatrice announces her engagement on September 26th and it steals some of the Sussexes' coverage.
And after the tour (or on the last day of the tour? I don't remember and it's late), Harry announces that he's suing the British press and it is chaos.
November 7, 2019: Harry and Meghan attend the opening of the Field of Remembrance ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Camilla was supposed to join, but backed out at the last minute citing a cold. When Meghan is pictured in overly glamorous hair and makeup for the event, speculation begins that they are recording the work for a documentary and that Camilla pulled out to avoid being in the footage.
November 9, 2019: The royal family attends the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall. Harry and Meghan are shoved into the back row behind a pillar, barely visible on camera. (It's a demotion, because in 2018 they were seated behind Camilla.)
November 10, 2019: Remembrance Day/Sunday. The Queen, Camilla, and Kate watch from the center balcony. Meghan watches from a side balcony between Sophie and Tim. She holds her composure at being excluded from the 'main' balcony better this year than last year (in 2018, she kept stealing weepy or vengeful looks (YMMV) at the center balcony while she was sidelined with the wife of the President of Germany) but she still clenches her jaw.
This is Meghan's final entry in the Court Circular (ever).
December 20, 2019: The Sussexes announce they will spend the Christmas and New Year's holidays privately in Canada.
November 17, 2019: Harry's last entry in the Court Circular before Megxit, suggesting he and Meghan peaced out to Canada shortly after this (I'm too lazy to look up if there were any papwalks or other private engagements - another day, maybe). His final events are January 16, 2020 (a rugby thing); Philip's funeral; the service of thanksgiving for the Platinum Jubilee; and The Queen's Funeral.
And if you made it this far: congratulations! My asks are back open.

Duh!!! Israeli Terrorists are posting their crimes against humanity online!!!
An independent United Nations investigation concluded Wednesday that Israel had committed crimes against humanity during the war in Gaza, including the crime of “extermination”.
“The crimes against humanity of extermination; murder; gender persecution targeting Palestinian men and boys; forcible transfer; and torture and inhuman and cruel treatment were committed,” the Commission of Inquiry (COI) said in a report, due to be presented to the UN Human Rights Council next week.
The findings were from two parallel reports, one focusing on the 7 October Hamas-led attack and another on Israel’s war on Gaza, published by the COI, which has an unusually broad mandate to collect evidence and identify perpetrators of international crimes committed in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The reports, which cover the conflict through to end-December, found that both Israel and Palestinian armed group committed war crimes including torture; murder or wilful killing; outrages upon personal dignity; and inhuman or cruel treatment.
Israel also committed additional war crimes including starvation as a method of warfare, it said, saying Israel not only failed to provide essential supplies like food, water, shelter and medicine to Palestinians but “acted to prevent the supply of those necessities by anyone else”. Some of the war crimes such as murder also constituted crimes against humanity by Israel, the COI statement said, using a term reserved for the most serious international crimes knowingly committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against civilians.
“The immense numbers of civilian casualties in Gaza and widespread destruction of civilian objects and infrastructure were the inevitable result of a strategy undertaken with intent to cause maximum damage, disregarding the principles of distinction, proportionality and adequate precautions,” the COI statement said. Israel does not cooperate with the commission, which it says has an anti-Israel bias.
The COI says Israel obstructs its work and prevented investigators from accessing both Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. Israel condemned the report and accused the commission of “systematic anti-Israeli discrimination”.

im going fucking cuckoo bananas. why is it so hard to fill my schedule to be a full time student for my last semester when i am infamously the type of person who wants to learn about everything ever and jumps at any opportunity to take random classes
have really really really wanted to take advanced spanish grammar for so long but every fucking semester i have a necessary class during that time (due to the epidemic of every class in the world being in late morning on tuesday/thursday) and this semester my One Singular Class I Absolutely Need To Graduate is at that time
so then i was like. oh well. i'll take italian 1 instead since my grandfather has been trying to plan one last trip to where his family is from and if i get to go it will be good to practice italian in a formal context
but then that trip fell through and i just really really want to improve my spanish so i emailed a class for heritage speakers to see if it would be appropriate for me and the professor got back to me and said i was welcome to come to the first class and try it out
and so today i went to the spanish for heritage speakers class and it made me so so excited to be immersed in spanish again and going over the content of the course, with the exception of how i don't really need much writing help since when i was learning all the basics of how to read and write i did that as much in spanish as i did english, all the grammar topics were exactly what i needed and the idea of a class where everyone talks at a high level and theres no english but you still get into the basics of explaining different grammar topics is so so refreshing!!!
and at the end of class the professor was like your spanish is at a high enough level for this class so if you want to take it then see you monday! and it got me so excited
and then the italian class was just really extremely basic. i understand basically anything said to me in italian and know a decent amount of vocab i just have trouble speaking but throughout my life i have at least studied basics like past and present tense and articles and stuff. so my goals were to learn more grammar and make my pronunciation better (i always pronounce everything so spanish and dont have a good sense for what words have which e or o sound)
but this professor was like yeah basically this whole course is just present tense and well learn the sinple past tense right at the end. but i already know that!!! and also unfortunately she has a noticeable american accent while speaking so thats not much help for improving my accent either
so i was like well whatever that makes my decision easy ill drop italian and take the spanish class. but still just in case i asked her about if i could take an italian placement test (was nervous about that originally because the next level up was during my necessary class again) and she was like yeah ive never had to do that before but i can figure that out for next week. which is a little nervewracking bc add/drop ends on wednesday. but whatever i was excited about taking spanish now
but then when i got home today i saw an email from the spanish professor (technically a grad student) like ‘i talked to my colleagues and even if your spanish level is high enough since you are not a heritage speaker here are some classes better suited for you [classes where you write huge essays in spanish which i do not have the time or desire for rn]’
and that was upsetting because i just really most of anything wanted to take a spanish class but then i was feeling a bit better because it turned out there was a new section added of the italian 2 class that fit my schedule and looking through that classes textbook it seemed the exact mix of easy but not boring because ill still actually be learning stuff that i needed. and i even called my mom (who used to be an italian language professor) and read the textbook units and she agreed it seemed exactly right for me
so i went to start writing an email to that professor to be proactive even before taking the placement test but in the fucking half hour since i had last checked the page rhat section of the class filled up with no waitlist
so i looked through the entire search of classes in a certain block of time not on tuesday thursday for my giant university and literally rhe only thing that seemed both manageable and interesting was an intro to japanese class. and i was excited like wow! how did i miss this when i was first searching for classes! only to click on it and remember i did see it and the reason it wasnt on my backup class list was because it doesnt allow seniors to take it

Gallery Update 4 March 1981, Queen performed @ Estadio José María Minella, Mar Del Plata, Argentina ‘S America Bites The Dust’ Tour The band arrive only 6 hours prior to the concert, there were security concerns as thousands of people snuck in and tensions were compounded by the fact that the band hadn't yet been paid for their previous show in Buenos Aires. Freddie's voice is once again in superb shape tonight. There is much anxiety on and off stage due to security concerns. People are trying to make their way on stage throughout much of the evening, making it an uncomfortable atmosphere for the band and entourage. There’s no doubt that the Argentine tour was a milestone in Queen's career. Here’s an interesting article:QUEEN EN MAR DEL PLATABy Pablo Javier Junco (article published)On February 28, 1981, Queen debuted in Argentina, giving 5 shows. Three at the Vélez Sársfield Stadium,
one at the Mar del Plata World Cup stadium, and another at the Rosario Central stadium. The band arrived really surprised to see the magnitude of the public that they summoned, since they did not think they had a fan base in South America. In turn, Argentina was in full de facto government, which further complicated things. Despite this, the shows passed without serious incidents, and the band left an indelible mark on the history of concerts in Argentina. On Wednesday, March 4, 1981, the Queen group appeared to play in Mar del Plata. The person responsible for bringing the British group to Mar del Plata was the businessman from Mar del Plata, Ricardo Pollera. The group and its entire entourage arrived at the Mar del Plata airport six hours before the recital. A large number of people gathered in the hall and the surrounding area, hoping to get closer to the musicians. The departure for the hotel was like a movie, with patrol cars and motorists sounding their sirens, crossing the city at high speed, while a group of fans on motorcycles tried unsuccessfully to approach the cars of the musicians. The performance almost failed as a result of an economic problem raised between SADAIC and the businessman of the Argentine tour Alfredo Capalbo, due to a debt of 200 thousand dollars contracted before the entity during the group's performance at the Velez Sarsfield stadium that had not been paid , which prompted SADAIC authorities to travel to the city to meet with the businessman and settle the matter so that the English band would play.Another inconvenience that was not disclosed to the public originated in the presence of a justice official from the capital courts with the surname Bergallo, who, by order issued by a higher authority, proceeded to seize the ticket offices together with Mr. Tizone of ADYCAPIF for a debt does not pay the directors of the Velez Sarsfield Club. But beyond what happened, everything could be corrected. Excited Ricardo Pollera declared before the newspaper El Atlantico on March 5, 1981 at the end of the show:"The important thing is that Queen performed in Mar del Plata, that’s all that was wanted, and I achieved it, despite everything I had to go through at the last minute"Despite the initial deployment, there were serious security problems in the Mar del Plata stadium. During the show, a large number of people entered through forbidden places and tried to reach the stage. After this, Queen had a meeting, the four of them alone. The subsequent proposal was very clear: if they did not have the necessary security in place to protect them for the next presentation in Rosario, there would be no show.Queen presented their latest album, The Game, peppering it with their hits, all of them forceful: “Keep Yourself Alive”, “Killer Queen”, “Somebody to Love”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Bicycle Race”, “Flash” and "Don't Stop Me Now. “Let Me Entertain You”, “Death On Two Legs”, “I`m In Love With My Car”, “Now I`m Here”, “Sheer Heart Attack” and “Tie Your Mother Down”.According to Pelo Magazine, the group was very nervous about the obvious security problems in Mar del Plata and also had to endure inconveniences up and down the stage. Brian May had his black night: he first broke a string on his guitar, and when he changed it, he found that the other one didn't work either. He ended up giving up his solo. The ones within the group who maintained an extra-musical relationship before Queen are Roger Taylor and Brian May. However, each one attends to his life, but it is not true that there are tensions or that they do not talk, as some rumors suggested. The professionalism with which the group moved at all times was absolutely overwhelming. Something very difficult to achieve by local organizers, accustomed to the "elasticity" of our environment. But soon they had to get ready to follow the rigorous and punctual rhythm of the band's activities. The skill shown by the musicians in each of the sound checks was surprising. They arrive separately, and each one tries his instrument and the voices. Then all four come up and briefly play a song. The sound engineer usually asks them for brief interventions and then quickly adjusts the sound. After the tension experienced in Mar del Plata, everything changed in Rosario. Security worked perfectly and the group put on one of the best shows of the tour. Despite a persistent drizzle, the audience (thirty thousand people) was receptive and set the stage for Queen to put on a brilliant concert. During each of the concerts the filming of the film "Queen On Tourne" continued, for which eight cameras were used. The film will be completed with images from the concerts in São Paulo and Rio, in Brazil. Of course there will also be scenes from the US tour and the Japan tour. All the members of the band and their assistants were surprised at the prices of things. The musicians complained about how expensive everything is in relation to Europe and the United States, and recommended the staff to measure their "extra" expenses. The most affected was the official photographer, Neal Preston, who had to buy extra film. He was very surprised with the very high prices of photographic material in Argentina. On their way back to Buenos Aires, all the members of the group agreed that the Argentine public was one of the best audiences they had faced. They even pointed out that some organizational errors (due to lack of experience in this type of event) had been overcome with the will of the organizers, and that the enormous affection of the people had ended up minimizing any problem. Some moments of tension were experienced before the start of the last concert in Vélez. With the capacity of the stadium completely filled, and a large number of public struggling to enter, there were moments of nervousness. It was necessary to help many people with symptoms of suffocation and fainting due to the enormous pressure that was in the popular stands. Even the police had to cut the fence to help people who had these problems. The last dinner on the waterfront when they were about to leave Argentina was highly emotional. The whole group was visibly shaken by what had happened a few hours earlier. They all ate and, for the first time, drank abundantly. Everyone felt the sensation of the nervous preliminaries. Brian, John , Freddie and Roger agreed that the Argentine tour was a milestone in Queen's career.

Emilia Romagna Grand Prix could be CANCELLED after Imola evacuated due to flood risks
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix could be CANCELLED due to extreme weather... after Imola was evacuated due to flood risks just days before race weekend An anticipated 100mm of rainfall is due in the region before Wednesday evening The circuit lies dangerously close to the banks of the rising river Santerno Extreme weather is set to continue over race weekend, including strong winds By Tamara Prenn For Mailonline Published: 18:02, 16 May 2023 | Updated: 18:02, 16 May 2023 Sunday's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix could be threatened with cancellation after personnel were forced to evacuate the paddock at Imola due to flood risks. The northern Italian region has been hit with heavy rain and flooding throughout May, and was given a red weather alert as rain and wind look set to continue. Rain is heavily forecast every day this week save for Thursday – with the race weekend due to start on Friday – and the Italian Met Office also issued landslide warnings for Tuesday and Wednesday. The circuit itself sits on the banks of the river Santerno, whose levels have been rising rapidly, and should the banks burst, water would flood into the paddock. As per the Sun, staff working at the circuit on Tuesday were sent back to their hotels, as the sport's heads face a nail-biting wait to see if see if the heavily anticipated event will be able to go ahead as planned. Imola was evacuated on Tuesday due to flood risks just days before the Emilia Romagna GP A picture shared on Twitter today (left) showed the waters of the Santerno rising dangerously close to the edge of the famed circuit – but the area has seen flooding throughout May (right) The region's capital, Bologna, was pictured preparing fo the flood risk on Tuesday afternoon As much rainfall as 100mm is predicted to fall through Wednesday evening in the region, where hundreds of residents have already been evacuated, local schools are closing, and all but essential travel is advised against. Formula One have said that the race is set to go ahead as planned at present, and there is hope that the television broadcast of the event won't be effected by the extreme weather. By chance, Imola was already set to be the stage for the launch of a new Pirelli rain tyre that will not need to be heated up beforehand. Pirelli's head of car racing and F1, Mario Isola, said the new tyres had shown 'even better performance' than the Cinturato Blue full wet tyre currently in use. 'The result of studies carried out by Pirelli, it is the first concerte step towards the use of dry tyres without preheating,' Isola added. The potential for weather delay could not have come at a more difficult point in the F1 calendar, with Imola the first grand prix of a run of three consecutive race weekends. Whatever the weather, should the race go ahead, Mercedes may rue not having the ideal race weekend to show off their much-discussed upgrades to the W14. Toto Wolff has advised his drivers to manager their expectations ahead of the Imola upgrades Red Bull are unlikely to be troubled by the adjustments after establishing a formidable lead Toto Wolff first mentioned the proposed upgrades that the constructor were looking to make to the car after a disappointing start to the season ahead of March's Australian Grand Prix. The Mercedes team principal has since attempted to downplay expectations, saying that it was unlikely that the upgrades would mean the car could 'drive circles around Red Bull'. Last year's constructors champions look unlikely to be challenged once again this season with both world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez unable to put a foot wrong. Perez is just 14 points behind Verstappen at the top of the standings, with a gaping chasm of 30 points between the Mexican driver and the next-closest contender, Fernando Alonso, who sits third. I watch tennis but pretty casually so…. What’s the beef w Zverev ? Why don’t we like him?
oh, that's a long story and i'm not sure if i'm the right person to explain that bc i just get angry whenever i see him or his name somewhere but i'll try (but only an overview). Also: I'm writing this now as far as I can remember, so if I mixed up a date, etc. - I'm sorry.
domestic violence
already in 2020 there were allegations of domestic violence against Zverev. His ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova has made public that Zverev has become violent towards her.
Zverev - of course - denied everything. Said it's a lie and he didn't do anything etc. etc.
the ATP did a "investigation" on the allegations but quickly came up with a "no further investigation needed" - oh wonder, of course they want to protect their golden boy (what he was back then).
As far as I know(!!) his laywers even made slate.com remove their article(s ??) to this topic. quote from their website: "This article has been temporarily removed due to an emergency injunction that was issued by a German court and obtained before Slate could appear and present evidence. Slate is now contesting that injunction and stands by its fair and accurate reporting based on multiple sources and interviews."
this week new allegations got public, this time by his ex, the mother of his child, Brenda Patea.
aggressive behaviour on court:
he attacted the chair of an umpire (and nearly hit the umpire) with his racket bc he didn't decide like Zverev wanted:
youtube
and apart from that (and yes, that's just my personal opinion): he is a very arrogant a**hole. He thinks of himself that he is the most talented and best tennis player ever, he makes fun of other players (admittedly only semi-publicly, but still) and if he loses, everyone else is to blame except him (Monte Carlo 2023).
he is definitely no one to support. and it's very sad to see that there are still so many people supporting him ("iNnOcEnT uNtIl PrOvEn GuIlTy" and all this bullsh*t). in my opinion he should get expelled from the ATP tour. We have no room for a domestic abuser.
i hope i was able to help you with this overview.
also: I hope i explained it all in the right way. if not: pls correct me. or add other important things!
#I hope i explained it all in the right way. if not: pls correct me#tw domestic violence#tw abuse#ask me#alexander zverev#<- for the blacklist#tennis

Heritage Foundation Exec Threatens ‘Gay Furry Hackers’ in Unhinged Texts
A newly released log of messages shows a director at the think tank spewing insults after a data breach
July 10, 2024
BERLIN, GERMANY - AUGUST 21: Furry enthusiasts attend the Eurofurence 2015 conference on August 21, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. Furry fandom, a term used in zines as early as 1983 and also known as furrydom, furridom, fur fandom or furdom, refers to a subculture whose followers express an interest in anthropomorphic, or half-human, half-animal, creatures in literature, cartoons, pop culture, or other artistic contexts. Many but not all of the followers of the movement wear furry animal costumes. The earliest citation of anthropomorphic literature regularly cited by furry fans is Aesop's Fables, dating to around 500 BC. (Photo by Adam Berry/Getty Images)

Self-described “gay furry hackers” on July 2 breached archival data from a site that was operated by the Heritage Foundation until recently, and on Tuesday released two gigabytes of internal data originally collected by the conservative think tank. Now an executive director at the influential organization is so hopping mad that he might as well invest in a kangaroo costume.
The hacktivist collective, SiegedSec, has been engaged in a campaign called “OpTransRights,” in which it targets government websites with the aim of disrupting efforts to enact or enforce anti-trans and anti-abortion laws. Heritage Foundation was selected due to its Project 2025 plans, seen as a blueprint for Donald Trump to reshape the U.S. with sweeping far-right reforms should he win another term as president, SiegedSec told CyberScoop on Tuesday. Group member “vio” informed the outlet that they aimed to provide “transparency to the public regarding who exactly is supporting” Heritage, and that the leaked data included “full names, email addresses, passwords, and usernames” of individuals linked to the nonprofit.
This material, as the Daily Dot reported and as the Heritage Foundation now confirms, came from the Daily Signal, Heritage’s media and commentary site, which lists one Mike Howell as an investigative columnist. The former Trump administration official in the Department of Homeland Security is also the executive director of Heritage’s Oversight Project, an initiative focused on border security, elections, and countering the “influence” of the Communist Party of China. It was Howell who contacted SiegedSec in the wake of the breach to get answers about their motivations — and as he continued to message “vio,” his texts grew more unhinged and threatening.
After declining to talk with Howell by phone, vio described what it was that they and their hacker furry comrades sought to accomplish: “[W]e want to make a message and shine light on who exactly supports the [H]eritage foundation,” they wrote. “[W]e [don’t] want anything more than that, not money and not fame. [W]e’re strongly against Project 2025 and everything the [H]eritage foundation stands for.” Howell seemed stunned by the explanation. “That’s why you hacked us?” he replied. “Just for that?” (Once the full chat log was released by SiegedSec, Howell confirmed to the Daily Dot that it was genuine, and that the conversation had taken place on Wednesday.)

From there, Howell’s tone shifted. “We are in the process of identifying and outing [sic] members of your group,” he wrote. “Reputations and lives will be destroyed. Closeted Furries will be presented to the world for the degenerate perverts they are.” As vio expressed skepticism that anyone in SiegedSec would be identified and continued to criticize the Heritage agenda as harmful to human rights, Howell invoked Biblical authority and seethed that the hackers had “turned against nature.”
“God created nature, and nature’s laws are vicious. It is why you have to put on a perverted animal costume to satisfy your sexual deviances,” Howell wrote. “Are you aware that you won’t be able to wear a furry tiger costume when you’re getting pounded in the ass in the federal prison I put you in next year?” When vio taunted the executive for this outburst and hinted that they would be posting the conversation online, Howell replied, “Please share widely. I hope the word spreads as fast as the STDs do in your degenerate furry community.”
He went on to liken furry culture to bestiality, which he called a “sin,” prompting vio to ask him, “whats ur opinion on vore.” (Vorarephilia, or vore, is a fetish typically expressed in erotic art of people or creatures eating one another.) A Twitter user shared a screenshot of this exchange Wednesday afternoon, leading Howell to quote-tweet the post with lyrics from rapper Eminem‘s 2000 single “The Way I Am.”
And I am whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news, every day I am
Ha, radio won't even play my jam
'Cause I am whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news, every day I am
Ha, I don't know, that's… https://t.co/jz7dOd4UcM

Hours later, Howell learned through the Daily Dot‘s reporting that vio had decided to try to quit their life of cybercrime, and that the rest of the collective agreed it was “time to let SiegedSec rest for good,” in part to avoid FBI attention. “COMPLETE AND TOTAL VICTORY,” Howell tweeted. “I have forced the Gay Furry Hackers to DISBAND.”

But it remains to be seen whether these hackers — who last year managed to breach NATO systems as well as a major U.S. nuclear lab that they demanded begin research on “creating IRL catgirls” — will truly disappear into the shadows. Like an empowering fursona, hacking can be an identity that’s hard to give up. Before he congratulates himself any more, Howell might want to at least change his passwords.
Update July 11, 3:50 p.m.: After publication, the Heritage Foundation sent Rolling Stone a statement clarifying that the site was not operated by the think tank, and disputing that they were hacked. The story has been updated to reflect this, and the full statement can be found below:
“The Heritage Foundation was not hacked. An organized group stumbled upon a two-year-old archive of The Daily Signal website that was available on a public-facing website owned by a contractor. The information obtained was limited to usernames, names, email addresses, and incomplete password information of both Heritage and non-Heritage content contributors, as well as article comments and the IP address of the commenter. No Heritage systems were breached at any time, and all Heritage databases and websites remain secure, including Project 2025. The data at issue has been taken down, and additional security steps have since been taken as a precaution. The story of a ‘hack’ is a false narrative and exaggeration by a group of criminal trolls trying to get attention.”

Mining the Well on Wellness Day MAWSB 7
World Mental Health Day was yesterday, October 10, 2024. For today, Temple University decreed that no classes, and assignments would either be held or due today. So, you may ask, why am I writing this blog on a day when no class is to be held, and no assignments are due? Why did this week, I work brutally hard on media/school-related things, if it was all supposed to be about mental health? While I slowly lost my grip on sanity from about Saturday, to about late dusk Wednesday night, it is for this reason. Time stops for no one. There is no rest for the wicked. I have had many late nights this week that I had no rest, so I must be one of the cursed. However, due to sheer will, I could email back and forth and start assembling some sort of committee and chair for my project. I had a couple of people tell me unfortunately they would be too busy. These folks said they would not have time to be a part of the committee. I understand where they are coming from. There are only so many hours in the day to commit to something long-term. However, I did hear back from someone who is insanely busy. However, they warned me about this predicament, they said that they would be willing to be my chair. Fellow Jazz enthusiast/music lover/sound technician/musician Jack Klotz said he’d be willing to be my chair if I knew up front that he would be quite busy next semester. But, knowing this, I still think he would be the person right for my project to be the chairperson. I reached out to Larisa Mann, and they agreed to be part of my committee under certain circumstances/conditions. I have not reached out to them yet to respond. This was because the grey matter inside my head this week presented itself in the form of my first grey hair. Once I get my mind right, I am very excited to respond and to collaborate with them. I have hit a milestone in my project. The milestone is that I have switched gears with a focus on the history of the Philadelphia jazz scene. As this project is academically informed, texts and other materials are necessary. I have been coming across numerous peer-reviewed journal articles on the Philadelphia Jazz scene. The previous avenue I took yielded very little results. The well was relatively dry so to speak. The success of the project will hinge on the sense of community Philadelphia has for jazz. It also hinges on the sense that Philadelphia itself as a city acts as a testing ground. A college so to speak, for jazz musicians, and those who appreciate this permutation of blues music. In the second half of the semester, I look forward to collaborating with fellow musicians, media professionals, and auteurs of both sound and film. I hope to find some sort of resonance within the phenomena of resonance itself, music. I always loved history and Social Studies. I look forward to reconnecting with those long-lost loves in my middle school days. I will be reading, as well as diving deep into the history of jazz, on a personal level. But it will also be, more broadly, on an anthropological level. I did a ton of voice-overs for my Television News Practicum this week. I look forward to perfecting my craft of achieving decent tonality, phrasing and timing, in my vocal performance/reads. I hope to learn to record with decent, to very good sound quality on the technical side of things. I look forward to perfecting the art of podcasting. This will be achieved by using the tools necessary to pull off a well-informed, professional-sounding podcast recording. But, as of right now, I still have a lot to learn. I hope to grow in both my skill set and knowledge of any technical prowess. Until then, like the Dave Brubeck song, I’ll “Take-Five”.

Design Unveiling for New Wheeling Visitors/Heritage Center Set for October 9th
The Wheeling-Ohio County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the City of Wheeling, Wheeling Heritage, Ohio County, and RED are excited to officially unveil the concept designs for the new Wheeling Gateway Visitors and Heritage Center. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the site of the former Wheeling Inn and adjacent the Historic Suspension Bridge. Due to site constraints, in-person attendance will be limited to media and by RSVP-only. For the general public to witness this historic moment, a live stream will be provided by Wheeling Heritage and can be accessed HERE. The live stream link will again be publicly circulated on the morning of the event. The event will kick off with remarks from Wheeling City Manager Robert Herron and Executive Director of the Wheeling-Ohio County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Frank O’Brien, followed by the reveal of community-centered design of the Wheeling Gateway Visitors and Heritage Center. High resolution images will be circulated to the media following the event, as well as posted on various social channels and websites of all the project stakeholder’s involved. “This historic event is made possible by the CVB’s forged partnerships between West Virginia’s Department of Tourism, City of Wheeling, Wheeling Heritage, Ohio County and RED. Our collaboration and collective efforts to reach this moment has been one of the greatest joys in my professional career,” said Frank O’Brien, Executive Director of the Wheeling Ohio County Convention Visitors Bureau. “The design concepts are a true reflection of the community’s top priorities, which are access to the riverfront trail, celebrating our region’s heritage, and to establish a family-oriented destination for both visitors and locals. The Heritage component of the center intends to provide an experience that encourages people to explore other destinations and landmarks that are the fabric of Wheeling’s history,” said Scott Schenerlein, Executive Director of Wheeling Heritage. Earlier this summer, the City of Wheeling entered into a contract with the State of West Virginia’s DEP to complete full environmental remediation and demolition of the existing structure. After a public bidding process, RAZE International, Inc. was selected as the lowest-qualified bid. All environmental remediation has been completed, and the demolition team is ready to begin the careful disassembly of the building. “The City team has worked closely with the State, the architects and engineers to come up with the safest, least disruptive plan to complete the full demolition of the building. Assuming we do not discover any unknowns, and we maintain a safe perimeter around the site, the building should be mostly gone by the end of the year,” said City Manager Robert Herron. Active demolition of the building will occur over a six to eight week period on Mondays – Thursdays, and some select Fridays. During this time, the section of the Wheeling Heritage Trail will be closed during working hours, which is anticipated to be between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Pedestrian traffic will remain open on the Historic Suspension Bridge, but construction flaggers will be stationed to occasionally consolidate pedestrian traffic to the south entrance of the bridge on 10th Street, to avoid any demolition activity that may be occurring adjacent to the bridge throughout the day. Construction flaggers will also be present on Main Street, as needed, to help construction vehicles safely enter and leave the site to remove the debris as a result of the demolition work.
