Royal errors, maybe Ghost King (Or just very powerful and respected by the Infinite Realms) Danny, AND deaged Dan and Ellie. With half-sibling Damian.

Talia is a woman with many, many secrets, this is a cold hard fact.

She has so many secrets its no wonder not a single living soul knows them all...

So when seventeen, almost eighteen, Damian really shouldn't had been surprised (he was though) when out of the blue he gets a call from an unknown number that somehow bypasses his firewalls against unknown numbers about his apparent five year old half-sister and brother Helen 'Ellie' Fenton and Dante 'Dan' Fenton.

That their father, Daniel Fenton was taken (by a shady should had been disbanded government agency) and they couldn't get a hold of their mother Talia at all (she was in a middle of stopping a coup happening, a rival assassin group, AND some idiots trying to revive Ra's at the same time, thus radio silent). About how Ellie and Dan were in danger of being taken as well but they needed to put in them a safe place so they could go rescue Danny before word gets out to... well lets just say some very POWERFUL beings weren't going to be happy and they are working on very limited time to get him back.

Jasmine Fenton tells him she knows he had no clue about his mother being with her brother and having kids with him, its something she and Talia often got into small arguments about but try not to bring it up to often around Danny, Dan, or Ellie, and that his relationship with her is often... rocky but she begs him to please watch over them while she, and her brother's best friends go a rescue mission for him.

That they were two very scared five year olds that had to watch their father be taken away after he barely managed to get them to safety and that Damian was the only one she could think of being able to watch over and least protect them at this serious moment.

Damian, and the rest of the family, are stunned silent when Jasmine finishes explaining, her voice on the verge of breaking and no doubt she was trying so hard not to sob.

The sheets were upside down.

That was not the first thing Stella noticed when she woke up but the body that was lying next to her. And it wasn't even a blanket, just a sheet draped over them with the tag on the upper side but it didn't matter, all that mattered was lying here with her.

It felt different and yet so familiar. It wasn't the first time they had slept together. Like actually slept in the same bed together. More nights than not one of them ended up in the other's bed, their legs and arms entangled, breathing each other's air so close they could kiss.

But they never did. Not like this anyway.

Stella has stolen many longing glances towards Fredrika's lips in those nights. How soft and plush they looked when they were in a slight pout in her sleeping state. Stella has yearned to trace them with her fingers, her fingertips itching but never daring. It would be weird, if Fredrika saw her then, staring at her, her hand stretched out. She always dropped it and pulled it beneath the sheets again, pretending that what they had was fine and she didn't want more.

But not now. Something had changed at the white party. Fredrika had been much more forward, wanting to hold hands and keep her far away from Rosh. Stella had enjoyed the attention, it felt good to be wanted.

And since they had woken up, it felt like there was an exciting static buzzing in the air and time stood stagnant. This time Stella reached Fredrika's bare arm and traced it with the softest touch of her fingertips. This time Fredrika was not asleep but looked right at her, a sparkle in her deep brown eyes.

Her skin was so soft.

Stella continued her caress while they looked in each other's eyes. They didn't say anything as if they both feared it would destroy this moment. Stella didn't want it to end. Light was pouring from the window and turned Fredrika's skin into a beautiful light brown, she wanted to touch and kiss all inches of it.

Naturally, her eyes found Fredrika's lips again, Stella couldn't help herself. She was drawn to them like she was drawn to every other part of her body and longed to taste it.

Fredrika noticed and her eyes dropped down. For a moment nothing happened, they just stared, their breaths standing still, Stella's hand coming to a halt. It was like they were the only ones in the room, it didn't matter that Felice and Madison were sleeping barely a few metres away. Nothing else mattered.

And then almost imperceptibly, Fredrika leaned in closer. Stella echoed her movement. It was slow, hesitant, in a way they weren't used to.

They never shied away from physical touch and affection, they were closer than most. They shared almost everything, clothes, jewelry (even a toothbrush once on accident and when they noticed Fredrika had shrieked how gross that was and Stella had agreed laughing but secretly she hasn't hated it), they've known each other for so long. They were best friends, they had no secrets from each other.

Except that one. Stella was in love with her best friend.

She didn't know exactly when it had started or maybe there has never been a time where she wasn't. At age eleven she didn't know how to categorise those feelings she had, of course you love your best friend, everyone feels this way about their best friend. And slowly, slowly she realised it was different. She had denied and repressed it for a long time, tried to get with guys and have feelings for others. But boys, ugh, none of them ever made her feel as thrilled and joyous than when she was with Fredrika.

At age 14 (maybe it was a bit too soon but who cared) she had let a boy fuck her for the first time. He was 16 but still had no idea how to pleasure a girl. None of the six guys (it wasn't three, she had lied during the Tjejsnack game) she has forced herself to sleep with came close to making her come. Not that that was everything but perhaps it would've saved those experiences. If only she could come from a guy's dick inside her and be turned on by masculine grunts and a hard build. But there was nothing, nothing at all.

(She couldn't count the times she had masturbated to her best friend instead, with her hands and the small vibrator she had tucked deep, deep inside a drawer inside a sock. It wouldn't be so bad if Fredrika found it, they were girls, they knew they masturbated and Fredrika probably had one too but Stella wouldn't bear to look her in the eyes and lie to her about what she was fantasising and feel shame, shame)

But now they were lying in bed together, clad in only their white tops and underwear and were inching closer to each other. It felt like forever, the moment an eternity until suddenly their lips touched.

It was a small kiss, soft, tentative.

Her lips were so soft.

It wasn't the first time they had kissed but at the same time it felt like the first. Stella had memorized the feeling of Fredrika's lips the few times she got to feel them at one of the parties at palatset, both too drunk to have inhibitions left and consider the consequences. It had become a bit of a pattern, them making out at parties and no one batted an eye.

They laughed about it together after with Felice and Madison who told them how entangled they had been and couldn't stop kissing but it was cool, it was fine, that's what happened when you're drunk. Everyone made out with their best friend, it didn't mean anything. It certainly didn't make you a lesbian.

And so Stella could hide her secret desire and disguise it as just a drunk hiccup that otherwise meant nothing. She had started to look forward to the parties where she could let go and pretend for one night that it was real, that she actually had Fredrika like this. (Sometimes she even played drunker than she was but she still never dared to be sober for it)

Those kisses were heated, rushed, without any real coordination or plan. Stella was familiar with the inside of Fredrika's mouth, she had tasted her tongue and mapped it out, tried to soak it all in and consumed her with all she could. But this, this was the opposite of that. There was no rush, no alcohol taste lingering, just the chaste feeling of each other's lips.

One thing the kisses had in common that there was no structure or plan. They didn't know what they were doing, despite all the physical affection and kisses they had shared, this felt more intimate than anything before. It was scary. Really fucking scary. But in a good way.

Stella tentatively opened her mouth and let Fredrika in. She wanted to take it slow and cherish this moment but she was also so impatient. Now that she had her, she wanted to do everything with her and push and push but she restrained herself. She didn't want to ruin this, she needed to let Fredrika lead, she needed to know if she wanted it as badly as she did.

And Fredrika responded. She inched even closer and closed the small distance that has been between them and her hand glid over Stella's arm the way Stella had done to her before. It brought shivers to her skin and Stella pushed her arm closer. She felt Fredrika smile against her lips and her hand was moving lower underneath the sheet, resting now against her bare stomach, her touch so soft and warm.

The kiss didn't speed up, only barely getting more heated until they both ached for more. Stella let the hand she had dropped earlier reach out again and dared to put a hand on Fredrika's thigh.

It felt revolutionary to be kissing her and holding her and touching her like this. Nothing had ever come close to this. There was no pretense, no hidden motive to their intimacy. And yes, it felt so much better when you did it with someone you loved, Fredrika was right after all. Stella had always rolled her eyes at Fredrika's romantic notions but in reality, she was the fool for actually wanting those things.

Stella didn't know where they were going to go from there, if this led to anything more. She couldn't bear to think of going back to just best friends and ignoring this moment that happened between them just like all their other make outs. If Fredrika did, it would break her heart but she would accept it and move on. As long as they had each other. She just didn't want to lose her.

But Stella dared to have a glimmer of hope that maybe this time it was different. It felt different. She wanted it to mean something. Whatever this was, whatever it meant, they had the summer to figure it out. They had all the time in New York City waiting for them to figure it out.

So Stella pressed her lips against Fredrika's more forcefully, their legs entangled together underneath the sheets and savored this feeling, this moment that wasn't going to be the last if she had any say in it.

Book Report: Royal Audience

Welcome to another semi-recurring feature, where I read the royal books so you don’t have to.

A new royal book has recently been published. This one I found at my library in the “new books”/“this just in” section.

It’s about the Special Relationship between the US and the UK, focusing mainly on The Queen’s relationship with the POTUS.

There’s a lot of history and international politics discussed, but I found it an easy, enjoyable read. I do wish the photographs had been in color instead of black and white so it’d be easier to see the details, which are often discussed in the text. One thing that quickly became clear while reading is that of the men whom are considered The Queen’s favorites, the only thing they all have in common is that they gave attention to and supported the whole family at-large, like hosting Charles or Anne, being friendly with Margaret, giving opportunities for Philip to visit solo, etc. The POTUSes that just gave attention to The Queen and Philip weren’t as successful as nurturing the Special Relationship.

So without further ado, anecdotes about The Queen’s Presidents:

Hoover: The Queen never formally met him “in office,” but she sat next to him at dinner once in the ‘50s.

Wilson: The Queen never met him but he did visit George V at Windsor Castle (the first POTUS invited to Windsor) and that visit set the tone for many of the POTUSes’ visits to The Queen.

FDR: Another POTUS that The Queen never met, but her parents did. George VI and the Queen Mother were the first reigning monarchs to visit the US in 1939 and it was a smashing success. While the Americans have always had an affinity for the BRF, it was this tour (in which FDR and Eleanor served the royals their first hot dogs) that cemented how much Americans supported, or would show up for, the royals if/when they came to visit:

As the Washington Post once wrote, “She’s not our queen but before we’re through with her, she’ll probably think she is” and as Obama once quipped to Charles: “it’s fair to say that the American people are quite fond of the royal family…they like them much better than they like their own politicians.”

Truman was POTUS when Elizabeth and Philip had their first official tour of the US in October 1951 as Duchess and Duke of Edinburgh. The trip, conducted as part of a visit to Canada, was delayed due to King George’s lung surgery and resulted in Elizabeth and Philip taking the BRF’s first international flight. Apparently everyone was so nervous about the flight that the Royal Navy deployed battleships every 700 nautical miles across the Atlantic just in case. By taking the flight, the royals were only a week behind schedule and they sailed home with 97 pieces of luggage.

Eisenhower: the Eisenhower were considered family friends by the royals. He remains the only POTUS to be invited to Balmoral and Elizabeth sent him her personal recipe for drop scones which - yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus - is published in the book, for all you home bakers. The Queen made her first state visit to the US under Eisenhower coinciding with the 350th anniversary of the Jamestown Colony (a trip Her Majesty would repeat 50 years later for the 400th anniversary and made me late to school but that’s another story for later). This state visit is what finally knocked Sputnik off the American front pages.

Kennedy: If you watched the Kennedy episodes of The Crown’s Season 2, you can skip this chapter. Kennedy once met a young Princess Elizabeth though, when his father was the US ambassador.

Johnson: The Queen never met Johnson in person. LBJ didn’t like traveling and preferred to focus on domestic affairs and Vietnam. But Princess Margaret did meet LBJ while on a visit to the US, which is also chronicled on The Crown, which the author takes great pains to mention is fiction because Margaret and LBJ never actually did kiss 🙄. LBJ and The Queen were friendly in letters though.

Nixon: hosted The Queen’s very first Thanksgiving dinner when he visited London in November 1958 (while Eisenhower’s VP) to open the American Memorial Chapel at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The Queen’s acceptance of the invitation to Thanksgiving dinner caused such a consternation because Nixon hadn’t lacked a tuxedo that all the men in the American delegation who had traveled with him and worked at the embassy were measured to find someone from whom Nixon could borrow a tuxedo. Nixon’s visit to Buckingham Palace in February 1969 was the first time that color film was used at the palace.

Ford: hosted The Queen and Philip during the US’s bicentennial celebrations. It is considered to be one of The Queen’s most successful visits/tours. The tour was in July 1976 and if you know East Coast summer weather, you have an idea already what the weather was like. First there were rough seas that made even Philip seasick (they flew from London to Bermuda, then sailed on Britannia from Bermuda to Philly). Then there was humid muggy heat in Philly that The Queen was fanning herself often. And then in DC, it was even swampier with daytime temps of 100F in the shade. The bicentennial visit later became the theme of The Queen’s 1976 Christmas message - reconciliation.

Carter: Carter was the POTUS most considered to be The Queen’s peer since they were closest in age, and that’s about the only thing they had in common. He horribly offended The Queen Mother by kissing her at the G7, hosted Princess Anne on her first solo trip to the US (wherein she shocked the press by being more like Philip in her temperament than The Queen), and personally lobbied Westminster Abbey to include his favorite poet - Dylan Thomas - in Poets Corner. His wife, Rosalyn, is the only FLOTUS The Queen didn’t meet.

Reagan: After Eisenhower, probably the POTUS The Queen was closest to, over their shared love of horses. Their relationship reminds me of the classic “introvert adopted by extroverts” trope (albeit in its own unique way). The Reagans’ first trip to the UK was chaotic in its planning with offenses left and right that made Margaret Thatcher reel. Charles and Nancy had a wonderful relationship and were close for the rest of her life.

Bush 41: Bush (another peer who of similar demographics to The Queen; they were just a few years apart in age, he served in WW2 with a career that reminded her of Philip’s, each had four surviving children, their eldest sons were relatively the same age) was favorite POTUS #3 after Eisenhower and Reagan. The relationship started off rocky, but it was Pickles - a puppy from the Bushes’ dog given to a friend whom The Queen had visited - that smoothed everything over and the two couples got along well. The Queen’s official visit under Bush 41 began with the infamous ‘talking hat’ speech and saw her take in her first baseball game. It was proposed that Philip should throw the first pitch out but The Queen nixed it, though she did join Bush for a little walkabout on the field before the game started. (Boo. I would’ve rather liked to see Philip throw the first pitch. I bet he’d have thrown a strike without any practice.)

Clinton: Clinton prioritized the relationship with Blair more than with The Queen, which ended up salvaging the Special Relationship after Blair’s predecessor (John Major) practically blew it up by getting involved in the 1992 POTUS election when he/his government campaigned for Bush. But Clinton came around to The Queen in the end. Clinton is notably the first president who was younger than The Queen and I suspect his presidency marked a change in how The Queen approached the special relationship.

And also, there’s a very good chance that this chapter illustrates Meghan’s obsession with Hillary Clinton - Diana and Hillary had a good enough friendship, even if only a working relationship, that Diana co-chaired a White House breakfast with Hillary. The book also points out that much of Diana’s post-BRF work in the US took place in the Clinton administration, so now I’m wondering if perhaps Meghan sees the Clintons as a partial extension of Diana’s network and that’s why she tries so hard with Hillary. (And also there’s the obvious that Hillary knew/met Diana so maybe Meghan has been trying to court Hillary to be part of the “Meghan is just like Diana” fan club.)

Bush 43: had the first official full state visit of The Queen’s reign, which was also only the second state visit by a US President (Wilson in 1918). There were significant security concerns due to the War on Terror and this is also when the Daily Mail’s reporter was a footman for 2 months; the reporter broke his own cover to report on the state visit. The Queen had her final state visit to the US in May 2007 as part of the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of Jamestown. (Her visit was the unofficial kickoff to the official celebrations, which began the week after.)

I didn’t know this, but The Queen personally donated a significant sum to the 9/11 memorial funds. Also The Queen enjoys Mexican food. A lady after my own heart!

Obama: Obama’s relationship with Britain began cool, owing to family tragedy closely connected with British colonialism in Kenya. He and the PM at the time, Brown, didn’t seem to get on, but The Queen stepped in and it’s thought her gentleness with the Obamas is what softened Obama’s consideration of the British. I do believe that Obama was the first head of state to see The Queen as more a grandmotherly figure and that helped boost The Queen’s global reputation (Bush 43 and Clinton saw her as motherly, and everyone through Bush 41 saw her as a contemporary/peer).

In the epilogue, the author writes that he believes Obama was favorite POTUS #4. I think the Obamas had a special friendship with The Queen, but sometimes I feel like it was more of mentorship, with The Queen showing them a generous kindness they weren’t expecting that led to both of them learning from her what it means to be diplomatic without losing sense of themselves.

Trump: His working visit in 2018 and the state visit in 2019 both were preceded by chaos and politics. A lot of people looked to The Queen’s symbolism in her outfits for how she felt about him. Trump held The Queen in high esteem, which she seemed to reciprocate diplomatically, but he had waffling views on Britain itself and that seemed to affect how the Special Relationship was managed (ie one day they were allies, the next day, Trump was assailing the mayor of London on Twitter).

Biden: No one quite knew what to do with him. He had proud Irish heritage so everyone thought he wouldn’t regard Britain well, but at the same time, Biden was outspoken against Brexit and Boris Johnson, which aligned with mainstream feelings of the day, so they weren’t sure how the wind was going to blow. But the Special Relationship prevailed, with Biden in a unique position that saw him speaking more about the generosity and the humanity of The Queen given what was happening to her - first the COVID protocols, then Oprah interview, then Philip’s passing, then her own illness.

Police confirm: Charged with bodily harm

Mette-Marit's son was arrested by the police and thrown into solitary confinement after a serious incident of violence. A woman was hospitalized.

Marius Borg Høiby (27) is said to have been arrested by the police on the night of Sunday.

The reason is an incident in an apartment on Frogner in Oslo, where a woman in her 20s was present.

What happened in the apartment between the two is a bit unclear. But according to what Se og Hør learns, Mette-Marit's eldest son is said to have attacked her psychologically and physically.

The woman eventually managed to get Borg Høiby out of her apartment and called the police. The police secured technical evidence and conducted a brief interrogation of the woman.

The woman was then admitted to the hospital for investigation. She was discharged early Monday morning after being diagnosed with a concussion.

Borg Høiby was arrested at another address sometime after the incident. He was then taken to the Oslo police station, where, according to Se og Hør, he was put in solitary confinement. According to what Se og Hør learned, he was released on Monday afternoon after more than 30 hours in police custody.

As a matter of routine, a blood test was taken from Borg Høiby to find out if he was under the influence of [drugs or alcohol].

The incident is not listed in Oslo police logs.

The police confirmed to Se og Hør that they went to an address in Frogner on Sunday morning following a report of a violent incident that must have happened during the night.

It's crazy how quickly my brain becomes distracted when you're not around, like you're the only thing anchoring me to reality. I mean... what's the point of anything else anyway? You're my life, you hold my heart my soul, there's no point without you.

But I must remind myself that in order to please you, I must become better myself. I must continue to strive to be a person that is worthy of you; although, it may take my whole life to do so. I only hope that you're willing to wait for that person that you deserve. Because if you leave... there'd be no point anymore.
