Lantern Corps and a 10 year old Child
In a last post, I said the Lantern Corps would love Captain Marvel because he’s omni-lingual (and there’s so many different species so it makes sense that they would feel comfertable around a guy who can speak their mother tongue, no matter how obscure it is).
And then it came to me in a glorious vision, the Cores would LOVE or absolute HATE Billy Batson, be it as a kid it as Captain Marvel.
First on the Love Captain spectrum:
Red Lantern: that’s the corps that’s the most insistent. Man’s fights littéral Wrath and demons alike on a weekly basis. Man’s go to weekly poker night with Satan and other Wardens of Hell. Why? Because he has his own prison dimension in th Rock of Eternity, who also holds the strongest demons.
Yellow Lanterns: as champion of magic, he holds a lot of weight. Especially for magic users. One flick of a wrist and boom, your magic is gone. The whole concept of ‘The Champion’ is enough for most to fear him. That and one does not play poker with The Devil from The Bible and other figures from various religions, and just have a normal presence. He’s terrifying when he wants to be. In his Cap form, he needs to actively tamp down to appear more family friendly, and not the eldricht horror he knows he could easily look like.
Green Lanterns: Homeless Child Superhero dealing with horrors must adults can’t handle. That takes willpower. Even before Captain, I’m pretty sure off willpower alone he could qualify. But what’s the real ringer is his imagination. The Rock of Eternity has access to magical dimensions that no amount of crack could dream up. Man’s had to learn how to use Looney Toones Logic irl and it works. Man’s got a while Disney Dimension with Ballerina Hippos with their Croc partners. Mans has debates about files with littéral walking talking dinosaurs. Billy is hella creative, and who knows what would be made with a ring.
Blue Lanterns: do I … do I need to explain? There are the lantern corps of Hope, I think the rest is pretty self explanatory. I will say though, he was close to accepting when he found out they got a Corgi. Even closer when Dex Starr, the red lanterns cat got a
Orange Lantern: bro fights the physical manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins , including Greed on a regular basis. By right of conquest, he really should be wearing the ring rn. They be trying to put a ring on it for ages.
Black Lanterns: he once revived Freddy and or Mary by reconnecting them to the rock, and since then is considered a ‘nécromancer’. Also (similar to the Avatar State) he has memories of past champions, including death, so one can argue he’s in a life and death loop.
White lanterns: same reasons as the Black Lanterns. They’ve been trying to get Billy to also out-do said Black Lanterns (who in turn try to recruit him some more). It’s just one vicious snowball effect now.
Now for the Hate Captain spectrum:
Star Sapphire Corps: The thing about Billy is that he’s AroAce. Very Aro and Very Ace. So those who draw power from love and try to flirt are met with the disgusted face of someone who’s famously nice. It was a devastating blow to the whole corps. At some point Hal decided to hide behind Cap to escape another Star Sapphire who fell inlove with him, and they just, lost their power. No longer had the ability to fly and everything. He’s Ace-ness is crippling. And it did bring memes. The Ace community was winning.
Indigo Tribe: he’s too autistic for them. And while being the warden of multiple dangerous beings fits their MO and all, they ain’t touching the bullshit magical logic with a ten foot pole. That, and the first time a ring was sent to him to recruit him to keep the evil ones in line, he roasted their whole system, their ugly ass uniforms (that particular shade of indigo clashed with his Hero Outfit way to much) and ended with a comparison to them with a guy called ‘King Kid’ and the fucking ‘Easter Bunny King’ that somehow did a much better job at Machiavellic while also being uhly. They never sent a second one. The red lanterns sent more.
Ultraviolet lanterns: again, man’s fights the Seven Sins on the regular, is their warden along with other sick evils, lies to the Justice League on the regular and plays poker with Demons (and wins) despite being one of the most honest people there is. That and he’s so dad shaped, it counters their power of daddy issues.
Bonuse:
It’s not uncommon for various JL members to receive lantern rings. They just don’t want to. So the standard procedure is to find your local lantern, and give them rings. At some point all the Corps made a lantern offers chart (and maybe the JL got a bit competitive).
Problem, that screen was using old alien tech that didn’t have colour. So they knew Cap had the most lantern offers, but they didn’t know which colours. Until it got fixed.
J’le looking at the rainbow that’s Captain Marvels Ring List: …
Batman: Captain, why is there so many red ones?
Billy, sweating: …
Hal, not comfy with the amount of yellow: I… I need to make a few phone calls.
John, the one who’s been receiving all of his rings: Uh, don’t remind me. I’ve been getting cramps with the amount of times I had to input the different colours.
Dinah: I don’t think even I’m qualified for the amount of therapy everyone is going to need.
WonderWoman: How to you have Negative Pink Rings??? You can’t get a negative number in a list
Billy, inputing the Zeta Tube: haha, it’s so weird
John: … do I need to add AroAce as a weakness for the Sapphires???
Bonus points if the results are open to the galactic public, and just wonder who tf are and ‘Billy Batson’ and Captain Marvel and why they are dominating the top ranks. What is in the Terra city Fawcette.
Extra Bonus Point if the JL go: Who tf is Billy Batson, and why is he ranked above Captain Marvel.
I’ve been waiting to do this one for a while. But never got the motivation. Let me know if I missed any, and feel free to write fanfic (please tag me if you do, I wanna reeeeead).
Final note, I want to give a certain someone a comment of appreciation.
@wonderjanga you are my favourite person on this app. You are the reason I decided to get out of my procrastination slump. Thank you for you content, it’s always so creative and I deeply enjoy it.
For those who don’t know them, I recommend checking out their content. It’s genuinely inspiration for me to start writing again. I don’t think I’ll be writing on ao3 soon, but maybe one day.

being in aroace education mode has me all fired up...... one thing i talk about a lot when given the opportunity is Deconstructing How We Think About Relationships - in short, if we put all of our relationships with other people into a pie chart the 'romantic partner' slice is likely to be a very small slice but gets a disproportionate amount of Relationship Infrastructure compared to other categories, such as vocabulary, rituals, attention and narrative scaffolding - entire systems such as dating / finding "the one" / break-ups / the relationship escalator, etc. on the flipside, 'friend' is such a vast category consisting of a plethora of different relationship, all ranging from Friendly Acquantaince to Extremely Close Childhood Friend You Share Everything With, but we have a lot less language and structure for how we think about these relationships even though many of them can be deeply important and intense to us.
the line between romance and friendship is really blurry, maybe even non-existent, but it feels like the way we think about these categories is that Romantic Partner is this one very specific, formalised box of a category, while Friend is a vast and vague landscape where anything can happen - and it's on this free real estate we have built structures like Queerplatonic Partner. the concept has probably existed since forever, along with many other different types of relationships throughout time and cultures, but it's our current attempt at having a Word for it.
are you with me so far? i want to write a blog post about Deconstructing Intimacy.
just putting a CW here that i'm going to say the word sex a lot and touch on the topic of sexual trauma.
one of the very thorny things about This Whole Topic is that sex and sexuality is extremely political. we just do not live in a world where there's any neutral ground to stand on regarding sex. every demographic comes with a lot of assumptions and expectations and moral judgement tied to sexuality. some demographics are desexualised, some are hypersexualised, some are Both At Once, and in addition to that there's lots of stigma, moralizing, pathologizing, and lawmaking. just a whole mess.
so all of That makes it kind of impossible to fully Dethrone Sex. and by dethroning sex i mean stripping it of the baggage it's accumulated in our cultures. Sex Is A Thing You Can Do With Your Body (And Your Mind?). this does not have to make it any less or more meaningful to you than what it already is. what each person considers intimate is very individual. many people find hugging completely inconsequential and will hug anyone at any time, and for some people a hug is A Lot. For some people, sex is a very fun and casual activity, and for others it's Sacred and carries a lot of meaning and a very close bond. sex is intimate - it requires trust and vulnerability.
it is not the only way to achieve trust and closeness, nor the only thing that requires it.
whenever i take the bus somewhere, i trust the bus driver to take me there safely. i put my literal life in a stranger's hands, but it's a very casual affair i don't think about too much. it's not an act of intimacy, just someone doing their job.
i think the way we talk about sexual assault as the evillest most horribly irredeemably worse-than-death thing, and sexual trauma as a unique kind of trauma amongst traumas, is... indicative. and please do not get me wrong, SA is a horrible thing in every way. it's a violation of trust, vulnerability and personal space. it's an abuse of power. those are the things that make it so horrific - but it's not unique.
an abuse of power, a violation of trust and vulnerability, can happen in so many different forms. emotional abuse, non-sexual violence, medical abuse, et cetera - i don't think it's possible to place trauma into a hierarchy from least to most bad. trauma can be incredibly complex and it's different for everyone. if one day the bus driver on a whim decided to drive off a cliff, i think that would severely fuck up my ability to trust other people to drive me around. if i trusted someone with my innermost thoughts that i have never shared with anyone else, and they used them to be cruel to me, that would severely impede my ability to connect with others.
i just... don't think it does anyone any favours to separate sexual trauma from all other trauma - making it seem like sexual trauma is The Worst Trauma Possible You Can Never Heal From, and on the flipside, make it seem like Well Your Non-Sexual Trauma Cannot Possibly Be That Bad.
TRAUMA TOPIC ASIDE, i think the concept of intimacy has a tendency to get flattened into just the one kind. there are many, Many ways for people to be intimate, many activities that require some form of mutual vulnerability or physical contact, but it seems like we're just very used to placing Acts of Intimacy into the Sexual category. kind of like a venn diagram where the two circles are Sexual Intimacy and Non-sexual Intimacy that are largely overlapping. but what if, instead, it's more that Intimacy is a really big circle, and sex is just one of the circles within it?
the way i think this slots into the whole Relationship Infrastructure thing is that We Like To Categorize Things. if we see two people being very intimate in a way that's not explicitly sexual, it's tempting to think ah yes they are in love AND they're having sex, OBVIOUSLY, because they are clearly capable of having that level of trust and vulnerability together. but what if they're not? does that devalue their relationship? does it make them any less close? these are very chewy questions to ask even without bringing shipping discourse into it, and i would prefer Not To because sexuality is political and there is no right answer.
another way this flattening can be frustrating is all the times non-sexual intimacy is treated as Sexual By Proxy. let's say, for example, you're telling a story, and all forms of intimacy within that story get read as metaphors for sex, despite your actual intentions. there's nothing wrong with using metaphors for sex, especially since Sex Is Political and sometimes we gotta be clever about the storytelling - but it can get very messy if people read sexuality between characters who don't have that, especially characters between which it would be very problematic to portray that. we gotta be able to tell stories about all kinds of close relationships, and surely it should be possible without bringing freud into it at every turn.
intimacy is context-dependent, i would say. a moment of vulnerability can be platonic or romantic or sexual or maybe something else depending on a situation and all the factors involved. human connection is an boundless spectrum, not just a couple boxes.
did any of this make sense? they're just my Thoughts, i'm not a scholar on this i just

#too long for twitter#aro ace tag#asexuality#aromantic#and look. i too am a proponent of calling things gay (complimentary) without it being Explicitly Gay in a sexuality sense.

2024 Favourites
In no particular order. This is content I've read and watched in 2024, not necessarily content released in 2024.
Books
1. So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole: f/f heroic fantasy + another female protagonist on the aroace spectrum with a male love interest (YA). One sister can channel the power of the Gods. The other dreams of becoming a drake pilot to protect their country from dragons.
2. Hunters of Ironport by Lou Wilham: m/m urban fantasy with a trans male protagonist. This series has Buffy/Faith vibes, except m/m. It crosses over with the Witches of Moondale series (f/f), but can be read independently.
3. The Mage's Secret by Ami Spencer: f/nb urban fantasy. This witch story is mostly cosy, with a few action scenes. It's about a coven elder and an Academy head in an established relationship.
4. [Spanish] Prodigioso principio de amor de Silvia Aliaga: m/m urban fantasy. This novel takes place at the University of Magic and Eloquence, in Florence, Italy, and the two leads are from Spain and the UK.
5. Power to Yield and Other Stories by Bogi Takács: collection of speculative short stories with many non-binary characters and a couple of intersex ones. This is my favourite read of the year. These brilliant stories explore gender identity, neurodivergence, religion, immigration and the human condition in general.
6. Earthflown by Frances Wren: m/m science fantasy. The characters have superpowers, but it's not superhero fiction. This novel takes place in post-flood London and has complex worldbuilding. Note that the e-book version doesn't include the 60 illustrations.
7. Redsight by Meredith Mooring: f/f science fantasy. This is mythological fantasy in space. The protagonist is a blind witch who's going to serve as a spaceship navigator. Her love interest is an ancient witch who's become a pirate and can turn into a giant snake.
8. Welcome to Boy.net by Lyda Morehouse: f/f science fiction with a trans female protagonist. This novel is about two bounty hunters in an established relationship. The protagonist used to be part of the ENForcers, which supposedly had only male members, so she had to desert in order to transition.
9. Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052–2072 by M.E. O'Brien and Eman Abdelhadi: speculative activism fiction written in the form of non-fiction, with many non-binary characters and two trans women. 12 interviews cover the crises of the mid-21st century, then the insurrections that led to establishing communes all over the world, with a focus on NYC.
10. [French] Un Amour pas si aveugle by Lena Clarke: f/f romance. A blind piano teacher and her guide dog move in next to a former firewoman, now an ambulance driver, and her dog.
TV shows
1. Kaos: mythological fantasy with several mlm characters + a trans male major character, and the Fates are played by trans/enby actors. I love this Greek Mythology modern AU, full of dark humour.
2. Meet You at the Blossom: BL wuxia. This Chinese/Thai coproduction is the first uncensored BL wuxia drama and I hope it'll pave the way to many more.
3. The Spirealm: BL portal fantasy. This c-drama is an intriguing adventure with horror vibes. The BL is still pretty visible despite Chinese censorship.
4. Tadaima, Okaeri: BL omegaverse. I had always avoided omegaverse stories, but this anime about an alpha/omega married couple with kids is just lovely.
5. When the Moonlight is Shining: GL fantasy. This c-drama is a quick watch, with 18 episodes of about 2 minutes. A mermaid comes to the human world.
6. 3 Will Be Free: m/m/f thriller + a trans female major character. This Thai drama is about the son of a mafia boss, a male stripper and a hostess at a go-go club. It's actually not as explicit as it sounds.
7. Petrichor: GL murder mystery. An inspector and a medical examiner team up in this Thai drama, which is much better than the forgettable Rizzoli and Isles.
8. Love Sea: BL + GL romance (a lot of BL sex scenes). This Thai drama is Fort/Peat (from Love in the Air)'s new show. Watch it for the high-chemistry BL, as the GL storyline is subpar.
9. Lucky My Love: GL romance. This Thai drama is a quick watch, with 5 episodes of 20 minutes. A superstitious woman meets her new team leader.
10. 1670: historical mockumentary with some f/f. In this Polish show (available on Netflix), the 17th-century humour is a metaphor for 21st-century issues.
Movies
1. Wicked: fantasy with sapphic vibes and achillean rep. I loved it, it was stunning!
2. Drive-Away Dolls: f/f crime comedy (a lot of sex scenes). This lesbian movie was on crack and is supposed to be the first of a trilogy!
3. Le Comte de Monte-Cristo: historical revenge movie with a canon sapphic minor character. This was a magnificent adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's masterpiece.

if music be the food of love chapter three
♥ here you go lovies, it's series time | chapter one, chapter two, chapter four ♥ relationships: aroace Alastor x deaf female reader (queerplatonic to romance) ♥ word count: 2.4k ♥ pinterest board ♥ notes: chapter summary: alastor is a bit uncomfortable with how close he is with reader, which has never happened before since their friendship was private, but now that she is in the hotel he realizes that he has a potential weakness ♥ no tag list rn :3
Every now and then, in the room across from you, quiet jazz would play, rich only under the sound of your music, but it still reeks of exclamation uncharacteristic of the music's Earthly presence. It's a blistering noise that requires the knock on a door to stop. The sight of Alastor whenever he opens his bedroom door at the interruption of a knock strikes fear into the other residents. His smile is deadly, and his eyes burn into his peers. They get reminded of his power.
His charming mystery.
.
And he made the dress less than six inches from you when you slept. After a stirless sleep, you wake up to a dress draped on the mattress by your feet. The first thing you notice is the lace layers that are guaranteed to itch your skin. Tonight is your welcome party, a last-minute plan (due to your sudden appearance). There will be no dress code, no inch of modesty, but Alastor decides himself that you will be covered. Suffice it to say it is not a surprise, especially considering he isn't a fan of modern nudity, puffy skirts with breasts peeking out, heels too high to walk comfortably on dirt, and so forth, and would throw up if he saw you in such. Possessive or protected?
What you want to reveal is no business with him (as if you really would). But you are ready for your life to be led by his smiles and soft touches, as your new public appearance will need guidance; you are ignorant of current times. Or that's what you tell yourself.
Your old clothes, once your trusted companions, are now reclined over the lounge chairs by the fireplace. They have transformed like you (how did you end up at the Hazbin Hotel after being a fierce overlord?) into something different, something less familiar. But still, a better thought fuels you: this is a chance to renew.
After dressing, loosening your collar, and fidgeting with the length of your sleeves, you enter the hallway, not at all shy but not confident enough to assert your presence. The first good morning to Alastor is the hardest. You quickly discover that it flusters you to greet him so close to the time when you wake up. By his smile, you just know that your music is playing a symphony; curse that thing.
Your mind wanders into a world of memories, the fancy clothes you used to dress him in, the smile he would give you, and your music conjures the same smile; that's where you remember it from.
"See?" He motions up and down you. "The most exquisite lady I've seen in my death."
You almost finish an eye roll before he grabs your hand and kisses the back of it. The movement is not prolonged at all but so swift that you barely have a chance to process it. The way he swiftly turns around, his head going before his body, hints as to why. He must pull away before anybody spots the affection.
There could have been a better banner, but Angel spilled paint over one of the corners, and Charlie spent a few minutes crying in the limited time. You stare up at it with amazement anyway. Whose handwriting is that? It's better than most of the overlords.
"I don't think I've ever painted a banner before," you sign to Alastor. He nods, looking up at it, his smile growing. You continue, "I wonder if they would have let me help."
"Your own welcome sign? Not a chance, though Charlie loves a group activity, perhaps it was a bonding exercise."
Charlie hops over at the sight of her name sign, finally overcoming the awkwardness and not wanting to interrupt a conversation. Somehow, she thinks ASL feels more personal. Well, as do most hearing people.
"Do you like it? Do you like it?" She signs in only two motions, her eyes bright when she sees you understand her.
You give a small smile, placing your hands on hers to calm her down, her touch is extremely warm, before signing. "Thank you so much for this, I feel very welcomed. You're so kind."
"Yes," a simple word as her eyebrows furrow slightly with frustration at her small vocabulary. "I tried!"
Your eyes look around at the people, each patiently waiting for you to initiate a conversation by walking up. Since when did they get so awkward?
The moment you walk away, Charlie turns her attention to Alastor.
You give Nifty a small smile, looking at the cookies she impatiently holds. In contrast, Angel holds onto her waist, ensuring she doesn't rush over to you the moment she sees you. She drops the tray when you approach conversation stops, and they rattle on the metal. Angel lets her go with a slight look of hesitation. He doesn't even acknowledge you.
"A dress! A beautiful one!" She runs her fingers down her own dress as a classifier.
You nod. "That's due to Alastor, he—"
"Worked his magic? Your red matches his."
"Does it?"
You turn around, glancing for a second at the shade of his suit and then down at your dress. You suppose, but it is a bit darker, though that might be due to velvet. What you notice is your matching sleeves. While looking back at Nifty, she immediately starts signing again. Angel stands awkwardly, unsure if he should walk away, but he pays attention to the signing anyway. Would he be willing to learn? You hope.
"How full is your closet? What do the dresses look like? Are they naughty?"
You pick up a cookie awkwardly, giving it a small bite and signing with one hand only for the first sentence. "Well, Alastor is the one who needs to fill my closet and he hasn't yet. I doubt he'd let me wear something he would consider distasteful."
"How dare he..." she squints her eye at him.
"Right?" The slight smile on your face is contagious enough to lighten her face.
"How's the cookie? Do you like it? I didn't put any roaches in it this time." An invisible laugh leaves her lips.
You look down at it momentarily, a bit skeptical, lifting it again. No insect legs are visible, but you still put it back down, no longer taking bites. You started the day with the same soft classical music from your heart, but now it is a more jolly sound. Praying that you don't start making Angel uncomfortable, you give a small wave, which he returns. Then Husk comes to save the day with a freshly opened bottle in his hand while he signs with the other.
"Ain't seen a lick of sign language before."
"You hadn't either."
He smirks, the friendliness catching you a bit off guard. "First time for everything."
With the most neutral face you can muster in such a friendly environment, you begin to turn away. "Of course there is."
The air lightens as you turn back around, letting Husk and Angel have their conversation. Charlie is still excitedly talking to Alastor, copying his signs, and surprisingly so is Vaggie.
Once they notice you're watching, they stop. Charlie puts her hands behind her back and smiles awkwardly as if she had been caught in an act.
Less than ten minutes later, the event feels tiresome. Having Alastor interpret for you and dealing with hearing people attempting to sign becomes unbearable. Just like at the overlord meetings, you and Alastor side-eye each other constantly. The only positive you can think of is that Husk is not hiding away.
"Awfully tiring," says Alastor, crossing his legs from the couch where he sits next to you. "Why must I be subjected to these superficial conversations."
His claw circling around his knuckles is smooth enough to allure your interest. His hands are so careful, so lovely. Hiding your interest, you give him your usual small smile.
In your imagined scenarios, you can force a yawn and say you are going to bed, and Alastor would be there to tuck you in as he did years ago. Perhaps you'd wake up to a bouquet of dead roses. Foolish girl, you can almost imagine him telling you if he were a mind reader.
As you look around again, scanning to ensure no one has been trying to get your attention, Vaggie's eyes connect with yours. Her brow raises in recognition, understanding. Your shoulders stiffen, and the shame pulsating in your heart is the worst feeling in the world. But that is before Charlie captures your attention again, flashing her same old smile and hopping up and down.
And then she motions behind you. Angel brings out a cake, holding it steadily, looking down at it with a bit of jealousy. Instead of helping when the cake was baking, Angel stood at the kitchen doorway and watched how the residents came together. He was invited to help of course, but he hated what they were celebrating.
You can't help but let your eyes widen. The cookies and now this?
While you wait for Charlie to get ahold of herself and her squeals (as if the cake was made for her), you stand and hold your hands in front of you, not exactly understanding what to do at this moment. Nifty comes to distract you, climbing up your body and fiddling with the collar of your dress. You let her.
"I hope it's good," Charlie figures out how to say. "We cooked together, for you!"
Charlie believes in ending a day with something that can make somebody smile. And here you are, smiling at her, not caring to hide your facial expressions. Your music exposes your emotions enough.
The cake gets placed on the table in front of the couches, and you sit on the carpet, legs folding under you. Your soon-to-be friends huddle around. Will they trust you with a knife? Apparently so, and you make sure to hold it carefully. You're not going to let your status as an ex-overlord scare them enough to not trust you with something as simple as a knife. It slices perfectly, the cake having a perfect texture, looking so soft inside. Your hand twitches, your claws digging a bit into your palm, but not noticeable enough to worry anyone. Is this a trap? No, Charlie wouldn't allow that. But what if this is why Husk has been so friendly.
You finish slicing, managing to cut it evenly. It reminds you of the living world, the times you've watched people cut cakes, especially as a kid. Alastor doesn't mind your souring mood until he notices that your melodies are transitioning into a minor key. In an instance, unconsciously (well, regrettably subconsciously), he uses his shadows to form next to you, leaning in close while taking the knife from your hand and spinning it, making it disappear into flames. The overall mood hasn't changed, but the moment he moves to summon a plate, your eyes lock on his movements. Alastor has gotten so considerate towards you that he touched something so sweet, holding the plate in his hand with a fork.
It happens, something unpredictable.
Everybody watches as he lifts a bite and holds it to your lips. You blink before your eyes brighten. Just like that, you lean forward and wrap your lips around the fork, your focus sharpening; everybody is watching. It distracts you from basking in the enchanting taste.
"Excellent," he puts the plate down and puts all his effort into not grimacing at the sight of it. "Wasn't that nice?"
You hold your breath, determining whether that is rhetorical or sarcastic. You go along with it, shrugging and leaning a bit forward, tilting your head, something you used to do when you wanted him to touch his forehead with yours.
You pretend he does, closing your eyes to ignore his stiff posture, and you pull away.
Charlie mends you with a gaze as kind as an innocent child. Something passes between you two. Is your attraction to him that obvious? Curses.
That's the most sinister part of Hell.
He walks you to your bedroom just as you hoped he would, but he doesn't step inside. He does wrap his arms around you, though, his voice vibrating against your body. Stop speaking, you want to say, but you don't dare pull away. All you can do is drown in the gratefulness of the once-ordinary affection. His constant withdrawal is obvious, and of course you understand why. But you assumed behind closed doors he would revert back to the lovely language you two share. But no, he doesn't. He doesn't even try.
Pulling away involves letting go of the warmth of his body. You already miss the feeling of his breathing. He puts a hand behind your neck and does what you crave the most, rests his forehead against yours. His bangs brush your hairline, and you smile.
"Thank you," you sign. Alastor's smile grows, becoming soft, and his eyes flicker around, his shadow spinning down the hall before he takes your hand, just like in the morning. He presses his lips to your knuckles, closing his eyes and exhaling while he pulls away. With the moment of eye contact, his hand slips away from you, and without further words, he leaves into his room.
Your bedroom feels especially empty when you close the door in front of him. That's not the way it should be.
The large window attached to your room hardly offers a view of the beautiful city. This hill should be high enough to spot the different sections, but the huge buildings within the middle of the city shields a lot of the environment.
You only get three steps closer to the window when you worry he's just standing in front of your door. It's such a pointless thought, a momentary wish. Maybe he is waiting for you to realize his presence and offer him entrance. But when you open it, you're met with nothing, nobody. Unfortunate.
You need to stop fantasizing like a little girl.
You decide to distract yourself with the privilege of staying at such a prestigious building.
You cut through the sign on the roof toward the dark red lining of the end of the roof. Awestruck, your eyes widen, and you halt in place. You can see the entire Pentagram Circle from high above, and your music gets loud enough to hear from the ground. The different gradients of red you would have never been able to see until now reflect in your eyes, the same way moonlight would. A cool breeze messes with the lace on your sleeves and rubs against your skin as you knew it would when you put the dress on.
When the rare clouds begin to hide the lighting from the radiant Pentagram above, the breeze starts to freeze, and Heaven's clock becomes the brightest light. Back inside you go. As always.

Zahnfee/Rhun Headcanon post!
Sooo...I will try to put all my current Zahnfee headcanons in here :D if I forget something, I will either add it to the post or, if there is enough to talk about, make another post! Perhaps I'll do one headcanon post for other JCU charas :DD The way I will go about this is, I will first explain general headcanons about Zahnfee xierself, then how I think the whole Dark/White thing works, then headcanons regarding my last piece of fanart and, if I still have some headcanon after that, then I will tell them at the end! Let's-a-go!:D
First up, pronouns headcanons! White: she/her Dark: he/him Grey/Zahnfee/Rhun: xier/xies The reason why they dont all use he/him is because everyone uses she/her pronouns for both, Grey and White. Ju however, in the BTS video, still uses she/her pronouns to reffer to White even when calling her White and not "DIE Zahnfee", so it's not needed from a grammar point of view. Which is why I stay with she/her :D the xier/xies for Grey is simply because I'm in love with that for Zahnfee after reading these pronouns used in a fanfic that I love a lot! Aside from that, I think Zahnfee would probably be Agender and somewhere on the AroAce spec (triple A battery fr) With that out of the way, I headcanon Zahnfee as the youngest of the brothers :DD there are a lot of people that think Fips is the youngest (totally valid and I absolutely see your point), but I love the idea that the creepiest one (who also happens to have a daughter) is the youngest brother NSNSN Additionally, I also think that, back when they were still mortal, Rhun was the only one of the bunch that was afab, but that will make more sense once I get to how Dark and White work! Now, onto Dark and White! I've seen people portray Dark as a add-on, if you will, for Zahnfee that just gives xier more power. However, I think that BOTH, Dark and White, are equally Rhun/Zahnfee and both are needed, to have the full person! The way I imagine it would have gone is that Rhun, back when xier was still one person, would have started to split into halves. One half represents the chaos inside xies, the hunger for teeth, the urge for freedom, the source of xies power, manifesting as something abnormal. A monster even, as the nuns back then would call it. Everything "bad" about Rhun manifested into Dark. Meanwhile the other half represents discipline, Rhun's mortality, xies morals, the need to follow rules and not stand out, manifesting as human looking. The "good" side, the one that needed to be the dominant one as the nuns used to preach. All that is white. Imagine how that must feel with the age of, let's say, 13 years. You can feel yourself splitting, you can hear your thoughts contradicting themselves more and more often, you smile in situations you were taught not to smile, you get pulled apart by the urge to escape and by the need to follow the rules and stay in place. And on top of all that, eventually, your skin starts changing as you feel yourself being split into two halves. Suddenly the entire left side of the skin on your head is transluscent, then your neck, then your torso and even your wrists. And one day, you fully split into two different entities. What was one is now two and now, everything the nuns preached you is good and what you have come to hate is one half of you while the other one that the nuns hated you for but what gives you the feeling of actually being alive is the other.
And then these two entities combine into one person again, leaving two minds to share one train of thought, two creatures suddenly sharing one body, the human side and the abnormal side. And to make matters worse, now you have to actively fight to keep both sides combined so that the bad won't run away and leave the good to die.
This is why they are all reffered to differently. Grey is the only time that both sides are complete, White and Dark simply are incomplete without the other. They are vastly different yet quite literally need their other half. Rhun is not White or Dark, Rhun can only ever be Grey. Because White is everything that Rhun hates about xierself and Dark is everything that Rhun was preached was bad about xierself. But Rhun can't just split into two to live as Dark, because that would mean killing a part of xierself and living as the shadow of that part. To truly be alive and follow xies job and collect teeth, Rhun needs both of xies halves.
And in the end, Dark realised that he doesn't want White to die. Dark hates everything White represents, but Dark doesn't necessarily hate White. Just like White hates everything Dark represents but doesnt immediately hate Dark.
So the two entities combine into one, sharing one train of thought and one body, so that both can live on and that they are able to use their power to it's fullest.
PHEWWWW, THAT WAS A LONG RANT, my bad for that! Anyway, I will leave this as is and make another post for my Oskar and Zahnfee headcanons! So stay tuned!:D

For the character ask game
Fresh, 2, 5 and 10 :D
referring to this. hard questions actually!
yapping for just sooooo long under cut woof
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
I can't really pick X[. I genuinely just like all his canon material, the reason I've been obsessed with him for years. I like how much of an asshole he is, seeing himself as genuinely better than those around him and deserving of Better things, I like how his wild oscillations on his self image, his extremely fraught relationship to positive emotions and those who are able to let him feel them. there really isn't something about him I would say I didn't like, even a little. He has a lot of things that just make him very relatable as well, in his canon personality, that I usually don't see in characters. His aroaceness of course, but I also like sillier things about him. He likes kissing people a lot, he's very grabby most of the time, he's colorful! His put on character he plays "the 90's freak" is cute as heck. I just enjoy whatever he does. I like his canon so much I erm. dislike most non-canon complaint hcs or interpretations [that aren't surface level design changes] being honest HAHA. obsessed with canon fresh.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
I don't know X[[[ even harder qeustion... I don't erm. listen to music...? not a music person unfortunately. I guess. "The Main Character" by Will Wood. Doesn't fit fully to me, but I do enjoy the framing oneself as both a character and one that you Like. It also has a lot of his entitlement and the way he sees himself as Deserving of better than the vast majority of people. Also the quite part is very him to me... nervous and convincing, "I must be good enough!! you have to like me!! I can't die!!!!" its verryyyy him to me. Again, not fully him [Fresh wouldn't see himself as the main character] but a tertiary one who has a dedicated fanbase, but I do like it.
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
He's kinda half terrified half pissed the fuck off at the creators; I really don't think he'd Want to be friends. or it would be way to unbalanced for it to be true friendship, he'd always be on guard and want to impress me/want me to like him, and intern slowly grow more and more resentful of the power I have over him. On my end, would I actually enjoy being friends with him... he activates a lot of chemicals my irl Real best friends and partner do, because of erm. mental illness. Horrible little freak has crawled into [chosen person] zone and its genuinely a little embarrassing. So I'd definitely try my hardest to do literally anything to get him to like me, like uh, I do with the rest of my chp haha. It would just freak him out though, even if I was in universe and not a creator, the idea of someone not being... self-serving? If I was too giving with him, it would make him start second guessing things. He doesn't just assume people are being selfless. What am I gaining from this? what do I want from him? it can't JUST be that I like him, there needs to be more. I don't think I'm selfless enough to pull off the like... type of people Fresh actually Believed to be fully selfless. SO yepp the distrust would go harddddd [like it would be selfish, because I would probably be obsessed with him in the same way I am of a very select few people, but like. it doesn't Read as selfish on an outside perspective, which is what he would have.]
[Extra for 5, I have like. fifty cb and fresh songs... "Feel Better" by Penelope Scott, "Cosmos" by Yabadum and "Love Like You" by Rebecca suger all make me feel INSNAEEE [non-romantic interpretations of the songs]]
#fresh#fresh sans#fresh!sans#sona puppy#puppy & fresh#jbird's art#jbird's asks#signanothername#mental illness reveal ?? something somewhere. that I will not reveal cus its erm. pretty. stigmatized.#but yeah it makes me act VERY strange about people I like/ see as. worthy? gets me acting odd fr fr#genuinely very embarrassing that Fresh activated it though. only fictional guy ot ever do that in all my years of life#probably why I have been obsessed with him for. 6 years.#like I only have this for 3 real people. THREE. that's really fucked up

Post for my Hazbin fam ad nauseam from your local ace elder (am I an elder? My knees and back say I am, so leggo):
Asexuality is a spectrum. The resident deer radio man is only confirmed to be ace, not aro. If you headcanon Alastor as aroace to represent you, then more power to you! I will agree that our media is over saturated with sexual relationships and we need more friendships! More QPRs! More buddies!
At the same time…A LOT ™️ of people are saying that shipping Alastor is disrespectful to ace people. I am here to say that it is not in the vein of asexuality alone. I am a great example as someone who is ace, but also biromantic. I am someone who considers myself to be in a friendship-based QPR, but it also doesn’t even have to have a category or a name to it. I have explored sexuality and spicy activities. Some are fun, some are not for me. It’s all good.
It’s okay for ace people to have sex and like it. It’s okay for ace people to be sex repulsed. It’s okay for ace people to feel neutral about sex. IT’S OKAY for ace people to do whatever they want with their bodies as long as it’s consensual.
Sexualities are complex, and it’s okay for them to change and evolve. Hell, (ha) Alastor didn’t even know he was asexual. And ships have always been ways for fandoms to express themselves. I was there when the deep magic was written on livejournal and fanfiction.net. It’s always been an outlet. And I ship Alastor three ways from Thursday, and none of them involve sex. They might if my creativity calls for it, but my headcanons and fics haven’t gone that way yet.
I know COVID changed fandom dynamics. But it is fine to not like a ship, a headcanon, a trope. You do you. But policing how people use a character in our little patch of the hellaverse…let’s not do that. Let people explore and express themselves. We’re supposed to be having fun, and I volunteer to be the resident chaperone that annoys all the people at the party asking “WHY AREN’T YOU HAVING FUN? GO DANCE WITH SOMEONE DAMMIT.”
And I’m an introvert. But I volunteer.
And I’m going to make Al and Luci kiss now, because I want to.
K’bye. 😘

I have a genuine question being Aroace but I'm afraid to ask and my headcanon will go to waste.
But KMKY's Ford always seemed to be at least in some way the aroace look (being demi or gray that is), did you do it out of want, in the idea of looking, or is it just part of the character and you never thought of yourself in a sexuality for him?
I can definitely see Ford being ace!
I myself am demisexual so I definitely think some of that perspective leeched into how I write Ford. Because my own experience informed how I wrote him, little things like being kind of oblivious/frustrated when strangers flirt with him (the hand witch or the girl from college who worked in the aquarium with the legwarmers lmao) because they don't know him!!! So how dare they!!! Lmao, falling for Bill's mind first since it didn't really matter that he was a shape or a muse or whatever, the rest would work itself out, feeling seen and only crushing initially because it seemed like his mind was being appreciated first and foremost, and treating their sex life like an experiment/engaging with the kinks/power plays inherent rather than just going through the motions (because kink makes more sense sometimes than just some undefined biological urge that you're supposed to have but no one can explain it to you, yet it's perfectly understandable to go 'oh they like feeling powerless as a powerful being I understand that perfectly, now how can I get creative with it'.)
I definitely think he wanted romantic attention from Bill, and wanted to be valued romantically (hence going on a date with Susan and Cathy Crenshaw) but the idea of getting romantic attention from a stranger is unappealing (hence why he was so reluctant to go on the date with Susan) and wanted the sort of holistic acceptance that comes with ideas of romance (because then his polydactylism will be accepted along with his unique mind) but the traditional trappings of romantic relationships aren't that appealing (was worried that he would have to engage in gay culture/grow a moustache and have a makeover to be in this relationship ECT). Bill was great for him BC he accepted and actively sought out all of Ford's weirdness and the dark bits you're ashamed to show, and then got freaky with them lmao. And there's no way to cement a bond quicker than to show someone your most vulnerable parts and have them accept those things unconditionally. Turning shame into dependence right there. That truly is the no one knows you like I do trap, and that shit feels inescapable.
Because of my own experience I know that you can be demisexual and still have a preference for gender or looks, hence why he built the "flattering vessel" for Bill to not only be flattering by beauty standards in general but also subconsciously to be exactly what Ford found attractive. The kicker is that personality means more than good looks, so when Bill inhabited the body in a different way than Stanford expected but he still found his personality all the more fascinating because of it, that was probably what cinched his feelings BC he got to know more about Bill's weirdness and see how it matched his own.
I am giving you a big virtual hug anon BC no head canon is ever wasted, how you engage with a story you like is important and you deserve to feel seen and heard when you engage in content you like. If I can go some way towards making the fandom of this fic a safe welcoming place it's my privilege to do so as a writer!
#all headcanons are good in my books!#fandom is for everyone#cringe is dead#and all the good things#i had my own journey as an ace person and coming to terms with how fluid it felt as my circumstances changed#when i was in a lonely isolating ldr being ace meant i didnt have to acknowledge a need for closeness which was probably not healthy#when i was in a loving relationship where i felt seen and known embracing the demisexual side was scary but liberating#and recognising when sex helps with intimacy and figuring out how i can engage with sex in a way that makes me feel good was wonderful#i had other things muddying the waters too#like a stint as an ace sex worker which i only got into bc of my ex#and the shift from sex feeling performative and transactional to being something i could enjoy without pretence#kink helped a lot and feeling in control thats why i feel ford should be a dom too#bc it is so cerebral and engaging to be the one dictating how things go down#and playing mind games is ten times better than doing none of that and just focusing on a physical reaction#anyway i rambled in the tags#sorry for oversharing#i hope this is a good answer to your ask bud

2025 book bingo
finally have the time to post reading update for my 2025 reading bingo hosted by @batmanisagatewaydrug now that I'm back from holiday and settling back into the unending grind of academia.
January:
Literary Fiction: Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata, transl. Ginny Tapley Takemori
This was deeply strange book ruminating on the nature of being 'othered' simply by not forcing yourself to fit into the box that is this capitalistic society we live in, the expectation that if a woman has not married or found a high-paying corporate job by the time she's thirty she has failed some fundamental aspect of life, the way our fast-paced culture treats convenience store workers and other 'menial' labourers. Needless to say, I am enchanted by this book and Keiko's staunch refusal to follow the path set by others and instead live life on her own terms. It's a very short read and one that I have niggling feeling will be polarising to many, but I liked it. I also do not know whether this was intentional, but Keiko read as extremely autistic and aroace coded to me
Short story collection: Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century by Kim Fu
It's rare I read a short story collection where every single work is a five star read. This collection was deeply emotional and deals beautifully with the subject of grief in its various contexts - losing family, growing up and having to leave behind your childhood, watching the world move on while you remain stuck in the past, etc etc. It reminded me quite a bit of Ted Chiang's works, this using of sci-fi elements to explore a more deeply human core. Even among all of these excellent stories, a few that particularly stood out to me were: 'Pre-Simulation Consultation XF0078167' (a meditation on love, grief and learning to let go) , 'Twenty Hours' (about a brilliantly toxic couple whose favourite pass time is killing each other), 'Scissors' (a tantalisingly sexy lesbian bdsm tale about power dynamics and trust in eroticism), and 'Do you remember Candy?' (a tender look at a mother-daughter duo plus the memories - and flavours - that draw them apart)
February:
Sequel: Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao
If i had a penny for every book I read this year with a toxic relationship and communist message to spread, I will have two pennies, which isn't a lot but does say something about my reading tastes that it happened twice.
But, back on track: Heavenly Tyrant is a book I have been waiting to read for a long time and god did it manage to deliver. It was bloody and brutal and unapologetically full of feminine rage but also community. It took many of the problems I had with the first book and brilliantly dealt with them. Zetian finally forms a connection with the women surrounding her and unpacks a lot of her internalised misogyny. It's much more politically dense than the first book and does a lot of work educating on communist principles and how often they tend to leave behind women and other marginalised identities, an issue I am intimately familiar with. Socialist men, apply your politics to the women in your life challenge level: impossible.
Make no mistake though, this book still has as much, if not more, violence as the first book. Lesser mech battles given the information revealed at the ending of book 1 meant a lot less killing of Hunduns and a lot more executing of billionaires. It bares mentioning however that Qin Zheng's rule would have fallen apart eventually though because power to the labouring class good, torturing innocents because of paranoia bad. People will rebel, my guy, take a chill pill.
Speaking of Qin Zheng - I support bisexual rights AND bisexual wrongs. But also I have never loathed a character this much and wanted to figure out what the fuck is going on in their brain (and also fuck them) more. I'm afraid the sex actively made him worse, much sad for my tumblr girl aesthetic.
I do have to mention that this book has the same habit of the first with telling and not showing. We see this world through Zetian's eyes, and she is as new to being a political figure as the rest of us, and much of what is going on is straight up explained to her instead of letting readers and her form opinions of their own based on our observations of the world.
Still, that didn't really take away much from my reading experience and there is a distinct improvement in the writing from the first book, which I also loved. Good book, I highly recommend in the current political climate.
Vaguely related tangential anecdotes: Now that this information cannot dox me anymore since I am no longer in Kolkata, I also picked up a copy of Ekatorer Dinguli by Jahanara Imam in it's original bengali for the 'Set in a country You have never visited' prompt. Make no mistake, this was one of the hardest things I have done. I roamed the entirety of College Street (a.k.a the largest book market in the world) before ending up at Dey's Publishing house (aka the oldest publishers in Kolkata) where I finally managed to find a copy!
After I took my mother to get something to eat at Indian Coffee House (also in College street) (because despite growing up in the city, strict parents meant that she'd never gone and now that i can do nice things for my mother I like to do nice things for her) - the place to gather if you were a freedom fighter back under british colonialism or a member of the naxalite movement led largely by the tribal community of the Siliguri area and the radical communists (who tended to be college students) of Bengal back in the 70s (mostly because it was the only place us brown folk were allowed to gather) - and learned that great-grandpa was also a naxalite/communist, who woulda thunk?
2. Reading Outdrawn by Deanna Grey for the romance prompt and it is currently reminding me of how fucking much i love the romance genre. It also made me wanna study why so many of my asexual friends who'd never want to have sex in real life love the freakiest books while i, an aromantic person loves the most romantic books on earth before i realised humans are weird man, you gotta have some fucking whimsy sometimes.

sharing some of my rui headcanons :]
i mentioned this in that rui gender poll from a while back, but i am personally a believer of any/all pronouns rui with gender that cannot be labelled whatsoever. i think he'd generally consider and present himself as male, but doesn't have many strong preferences about it. doesn't actively make the effort to dress "femininely," but he'd probably fuck with long skirts if given the opportunity!
and all of you know how much i base my personality off of this by now, but. aroace rui :) aroace rui who has always understood romance as a concept, a trope. he can pick up on romantic cues, but purposefully chooses to pretend they don't exist. the mere thought of him experiencing romantic attraction fills him with so much disgust he has to distract himself for hours. i'd ramble a bit more, but then we'd be here for too long..
i think he'd have really good sleight of hand! he's always had an interest for things like card/coin tricks, and picked up more after learning from kaito :) he always has a little trick or illusion up his sleeve and occasionally performs them for kids at phoeniland or just on the street!
despite having really good dexterity with his tools and tricks, he is terrible with sewing and needles. tsukasa has tried everything in his power to teach him, but nothing stops him from accidentally pricking himself.
incredibly susceptible to cold temperatures. is usually wearing a couple more layers than necessary
doesn't get sick often, but when he does, the illness hits him like a TRUCK. it takes him at least a week to recover. he's huddled up in blankets like a poor and frail victorian child, and he can barely work up an appetite. the kicker: he doesn't realize he's feeling Bad until somebody points out how horrible he looks. and that's when it settles
always needs something in his hand to fiddle with! super super good at spinning his pens and pencils (sleight of hand), and is often found twiddling with his longer strands of hair. he also has a bunch of miscellaneous screws and trinkets and trash in his pockets that he keeps to fidget with.
rui has intrusive thoughts (projecting).. most of them come from his deep fear of hurting others and anxiety regarding social perception and safety
this is already kind of canon i think but. whenever rui ever makes the effort to actually clean his room (shocking), he almost always gets distracted by something he finds, and soon enough, cleaning is no longer of his concern.
shitty handwriting. he CAN write neatly, but he just chooses not to
i think he'd be really good at game pigeon word hunt. and sudoku. and crosswords. all the word puzzles. and it pisses tsukasa and nene off a lot. emu is his worthy rival
sensitive teeth. can't bite into ice cream...
this is a given, but aside from theatre, i think he'd be super into other performance arts like ballet. he'd be really intrigued by how storytelling can be completely reliant on visuals and motions with no words and lyrics. ballerina rui au is also something i've brewed in my brain a while ago but the logistics are funny
his opinion on mint chocolate ice cream: taste is perfectly fine but he doesn't appreciate the chocolate chunks at all
weird sock collection. he will die if he doesn't have a funky pair of socks on his feet at all times. aside from when he sleeps probably
lots of unfinished word documents.. he's had a few aspirations about writing an actual novel instead of a script, but the ideas are like ping pong balls in his brain that interfere with his other priorities so he never actually gets much writing done.. one day he will though
that's all i can recall for now.. i'll make more soon if i think of more! this is also a humble request for any other rui headcanons you may have that aren't mentioned here.. hehehe
#project sekai#kamishiro rui#rui kamishiro#wxs rui#i absolutely adore this purple fuck#if you couldn't tell

Too many sappy headcanons and aus, time to make a list of how I think the Bad Kids flirt with their crush (this is all barely a headcanon, it’s just how I interpret how the Bad Kids act around someone they like).
Riz-Aroace. Does not get crushes. He is very good at knowing when someone has a crush on him, but is so bad at talking about it that he usually just ignores it and hopes it goes away.
Adaine- Does not get crushes easily. If she ever got one, it doesn’t usually affect her enough for her to do anything about it. She freaks out and gets embarrassed upon realising her feelings, but unless she talks with the other person often, it usually stays in the background. Doesn’t actively pursue anyone, she is far too busy, but would be flattered.
Kristin- Used to be incredibly flustered by anything remotely close to romance. Having Tracker as her first girlfriend got rid of that pretty quickly. She still flusters, but can usually power through it. Gets short-lived crushes pretty easily, but doesn’t act on them. Has achieved the true goal of only having WLW hit on her.
Fabian- Tries to act cool. Isn’t. He usually doesn’t realise he likes someone until they do something about it, and then tries to overcompensate for lost time by being really suave. Eventually he’ll forget that it’s a big deal and go back to bring regular Fabian, who is effortless cool in a kind-person way.
Fig- There’s a sweet spot between ‘not sure if they like me’ and ‘dating,’ which is where Fig shines. She gets more confident, without being worried about the relationship. Before and after, she gets unsure about it, which she used to cover by disgusting as other people. Ayda is slowly helping her learn to keep that confidence into the relationship.
Gorgug- Is almost the opposite of Riz. Has no clue who has a crush on him, but when he knows? He’s almost accidentally smooth when talking to them. He was more awkward in freshman year, and even then sort of fell face-first into a relationship with Zelda. His awkwardness seems to attract other socially-unsure people, but his ability to match their energy puts them at ease and be a bit more confident.

happy pride month here are some silly pride month things to go around
- cruz walks up to jackson, smile etched into her expression, and goes “happy pride month” before walking away. jackson stands there Frozen “who told you. no cruz dont walk away WHO TOLD YOU THAT.”
- fillmore sleeps with sarges dogtags around his neck (he claims its for the vibes but sarge knows better)
- natalie doing EVERYTHING in her power to get down to victory lane every time cruz wins. she will literally run off of chicks set mid broadcast to go lurk around victory lane (shes going to ask cruz and ONLY cruz questions. these interviews eventually turn into straight up flirting on live television)
- natalie coming into team dinoco’s shop one day (its like, media day or something) and cruz making her participate in the fun little social media activities they have planned (they end up kissing in some closet after or something)
- team #51 dinoco getting the lesbian flag (for cruz) and the aroace flag (for doc) stitched into the upper arms of their gear
- tex happily runs pride schemes on cruz’s car (and eventually lightnings when he gets back to racing after the year of being cruz’s crew chief — he wants to get in on the support for the community specifically for his pseudo daughter)
- francesco
(^ thats it thats the tweet)

okay but like, i understand Ink's case because he was created to be an AU since the start and thus never meant to be canon accurate or whatever people say (and his whole thing is being super diferent and you kmow)
with that, wtf happend to dipper lmao?????(/lh)
Ok so it’s a gravity falls au that I’m completely obsessed with and have been crazy into since I was literally 14 (I’m nearly 23 now)
It’s a small community but it does have its own blog and such @transcendence-au
But the basic premise of it is that Dipper ended up killing bill cipher while he was possessing him which resulted in Bill’s death and Dipper obtaining all of his power and becoming a demon rather than a human. As a result of this as well, the weirdness bubble around gravity falls bursts as well, causing magic and monsters to go GLOBAL. That means unicorns and demons and magic etc are now part of every day life and are out in the open and humanity starts trying to adjust to this new world.
Dipper goes by the moniker of Alcor the Dreambender (Alcor is a star in the Big Dipper constellation) and starts getting summoned frequently by people and establishing a name for himself as a very powerful entity.
Seeing as Dipper is now immortal, most of the fics span from when he was twelve to literally billions of years old. Mabel canonically marries a man named Henry and they have three children, Dipper is the coolest uncle ever, etc etc
A lot of the themes of the story as well revolve around Dipper grappling with his identity - who he used to be and who he will eventually become. He goes through phases where he loses his humanity and becomes extremely violent, especially in periods where he watches his loved ones die, but through reincarnation he meets Mabel over and over and over again, although they’re never quite her.
There’s around 500 works for the AU on ao3. It has made me bawl my eyes out, it has made me howl with laughter, it rewired all my neurons at a young age and I have been completely changed since. If you check it out I’ll scream with joy there’s like three active people and a shoelace in the fandom I need people to cry to.
(Also Alcor is canonically aroace LETS GOOOOO)

I love shipping. I love fandom. You are all so creative and so positive and endearing in a lot of ways, and I try to encourage fanfiction and artwork and blogs when I can. But we need to talk. Specifically we need to talk about characters who are asexual and/or aromantic, and shipping them. You do not need to stop! It is fine! But you need to stop erasing their asexuality when/if they have sex and you need to stop erasing their aromanticism when/if they start being in a relationship. When you write a fic where an asexual character is having sex, and you decide they are doing that because of overwhelming attraction to whichever character you are pairing them with, you are being aphobic. You are erasing a core part of the character because it's easier for you to do that than come up with REAL reasons an asexual person might have sex. I am going to use Hazbin Hotel as an example, please don't feel singled out if this ship is one of your faves. Again, the ship itself isn't the problem. One of the common fandom pairings is Alastor, an Aroace, with Lucifer. I have seen so many fics of this where Alastor 'falls in love' with Lucifer. But that's not a thing for that character. What is ABSOLUTELY a thing is that Alastor is scheming, clever, and willing to manipulate people for his own ends. Alastor would start dating the most powerful being in Hell *for a reason* and you, as a writer, figuring out what that reason is, will make your fic more interesting AND more accurate to the character and the canon lore. And you won't be actively erasing asexuality/aromanticism from one of the few characters in all of television history who are canonically aroace.
