Sometimes the way people talk about ships in fandom, especially queer ships they hope to be canon and/or endgame, and how there is no straight/platonic explanation for the ways characters act towards each other really emphasises that often fandom

1) does not view a friendship as a fully formed relationship that has arguments and disagreements and make ups and affection

2) cannot comprehend a deep and platonic bond that is just if not more important than romance

3) despite being vocally queer-friendly, still excludes aromantic (and asexual, to a different degree) interpretations from the queer umbrella allowed for the characters, leading to a hypocrisy that also extends to biphobia that is rampant. These are covert biases, and very rarely are they out right declared, because often they are coming from allies or queer people themselves, but one must be aware of the language used and the dog whistles those who experience or are looking out for these kinds of dismissals or exclusions would see as warning signs.

4) is unaware that every relationship is unique and there most certainly IS a platonic explanation for those actions. People react differently, they have jealousy and love and anger and affection, all of which can be present in a platonic and meaningful friendship, leading them to lash out, or touch tenderly, or cry when they argue. Love and affection are not exclusive to romance

I just vented out a whole rant about how aromantisim is treated within Hazbin/helluva. I'm not really sure if I should post it for multiple reasons, one of which being I don't want anyone to feel targeted about it or take it the wrong way (like I honestly dont have beef with Al shippers. Gripes, but no beef as I also ship him on occasion).

There was just a sudden burst of frustration I had with it that I think was in part just came from built up frustration from other things. There's things I'd like to have out there, but I don't really think it'd get far or, again, be just taken the wrong way. I don't see a point in posting if people are gonna ignore it, plus it wouldn't change how things are now. If anyone has any thoughts or are curious let me know, but I don't wanna make anyone feel like shit or put a pointless rant out there no one wanted to see. I also wanna keep rants to a minimum as I know people aren't always into that sort of stuff, especially if you don't follow someone for that and you just get an influx of posts of them complaining. And I still want to keep things relatively light hearted around here, at best maybe just some critiques on things here and there.

And, listen, I don't really talk about it because personally it didn't read as romantic to me but I am a believer in the beliefs of SagaCasey shippers. Like, they're just fucking right about this one, and I love nothing so much as Saga ripping Casey out of Alan's hands, in no uncertain terms telling him fuck you, he's mine, you can't have him. That is, in fact, the only way for me to read the text. Casey is Saga's partner. It doesn't matter what the story thinks, his belonging to her is unconditional.

i feel like aro-spectrum ace is truly the funniest outcome. only one of the cast to have had a girlfriend and he did not get the hype. he's just like "this is boring :-/ i'd rather do other things" and thinks that's how everyone would feel. his friends are going crazy over celebrity crushes and pretty people in their grade and he thinks they're so weird for it.
