Angharad may not be as experienced as Toast, as adept as Capable, as intuitive as Dag, nor as kind-hearted as Cheedo, but the Immortan did not declare her Splendid for nothing. She hears the wails of the Wretched and the jeering of the War Boys. She sees how the Sons flock to the Immortan like loyal dogs, how he wears his armor and badges in arrogant denial.
There has been a rage simmering inside Angharad for as long as she can remember. It had made her a vicious Pup, but she had tried to put it aside along with her white paint years ago. She knew it would be of no use here, would do little more than drive her mad.
But she feels it bursting fully to life now and welcomes it.”

Reflections On Material Culture, Loss and Reconstruction (original outline)
Inspired by two posts about the potential of Air Bison wool my brain went into a theoretical anthropological overdrive and proposed a 3 chapter meta work I don't have the writing skill to complete and I'm too cautious about incorrectly posting on Ao3 to risk a very new and dearly needed account here is my outline and screenshots of the posts at the very bottom because I'm a novice at posting. (It's fiber craft focused with some hide craft, no wood working because that would be it's own meta)
Chapter 1
-Introduce how much human labor went into everyday objects of use and tie in explanation of material culture -the expanse of networks and their limitations of trade before trains - we don't know what any leaderly figures or the community at large considered proper detachment and as someone neither a buddhist in practice or culture that has witnessed Jedi flamewars I will not theorize beyond spiritually inclined Air Nomads probably didn't trade for luxury goods and what they may have had was based in utility, spirituality, or bonds of friendship - Air Temples in high mountainous terrains likely would have need to trade for wood, flax, cotton, metal and perhaps certain foodstuffs or for sack of good soil - Fanon theory about the Air Bison wool -Further theory about their wool being like yak -- details about yak wool --clothes, pillows, blankets and bedding with the down --tents, saddles, ropes, rugs, possibly glider fins with the coarse --spinning, spindles and weaving transportable spindles and looms - -backstrap looms, and card weaving --possibility of fiber spinning as a meditative practice --probability of communal chores related to spinning and dying --plant based dyes and variety of mordants(include drying in communal chores) --tangent about if gathering, smashing, stirring or removal were it would help Aang reconstruct -- likelihood of the pigments for Air Nomad garb and mastery ink being plants or minerals native to high mountains -possibility of friendship bracelets with the fishing line necklace as evidence -zhongguo jie and other cord arts -knitting may not have spread beyond "Eurasia" until 16th Portuguese contact but I don't care it's not beyond reason for it to develop in the ATLA world setting and imagining a knit plushie of Appa made from Appa gives me much joy
Chapter 2 - what Aang possibly could have personally taught all his children that he learned as a child based on the premises introduced in ch1 -- when and how to brush Air Bison for which fibers -- washing and carding the fibers -- how to spin those fibers -- drop spindles and supported spindles -- meditative spinning -- friendship bracelets and meditative cord arts -- knitting and darning -- how to roll yarn -- dye pigment collection -- how stir dye pots -- how to remove textiles from a dye pot without splashing - what Aang would have needed assistance from experienced craftspeople of other cultures or surviving docs for reconstruction -- temperatures for dyeing -- which mordants were used -- basically any of the dye recipes beyond the pigments collected -- textile weaving --- for robes, bedding and complex meditative patterns --- what types of stationary looms were used for what -- how to find the right sticks for your backstrap loom -- card weaving -brief reflection/musing on what might be lost for ever because he spent the bulk of his recall-able years in the Southern Temple - what parts of his of Air Nomad fiber crafts teachings Aang's adult children probably used in their adulthood - possibly me pontificating about material culture, personal relationships and cultural preservation isn't curative alone but creative conversation with the past
Chapter 3 - Arctic material cultures in connection to environment and animals - Inuit clothing construction and art -- the tools --- bone, stone and metal -- the processes --- choosing, skinning, cleaning, tanning --- cutting, pattern making, sewing and decorating -- squee about the amauti please picture mama Katara in one - ATLA's bestiary says these animals are used for clothes etc - if work divided like [real life Arctic culture] which norms Katara would or wouldn't follow teaching her children craft wise - what crafts she would personally teach them - tool making and hunting with Uncle Sokka - skills the SWT sibs would consider vital to teach ahimsa or not - adult Aang would be squeamish but respect their culture - Tenzin might have abstained from some of the teachings - regrets it sometimes - might if he does meditative weaving use SWT art motifs
(Please note I've only seen clips of LoK, read summaries and info about the fight with the studio so I do withold judgement on the series as a whole. But I do judge the missed opportunity of Bumi's occupation as soldier in a professional military being a tremendous strain with his pacifist father and genocidal raid survivor mother in favor of it just being the non-bender child they had no time for while they scrambled to preserve/restore their cultures. I understand there were bigger plot fish to fry than inclusion in the non-bending aspects of his parents culture and non-craft modern people writing professionally with their modern minds forgetting material culture exists and is meaningful)

Tumblr is probably not the right place for this, but if I’d like to have a chance of more than 2 people seeing it, it’s this or twitter and fuck no.
Anyway!
I did nano and predictably got side tracked half way through building a better writing tool, because I couldn’t afford the shiny ones and the one I had wasn’t quite working for me.
Fast forward a few months I’ve nearly finished it (oh god the unit tests) but then I thought, hey, maybe others too are not quite vibing with their tools? Or maybe things could be fannished up a little?
So if anyone has any things they really wished a writing tool did, now is the time to mention it. If there’s interest, I’ll stick community and supporter versions up.

Pinned welcome post 📌
Hello, hello 💚💚💚 Welcome to the chaos that is my main 🙃 Time for a new pinned post.
I'm oneinist (they/them), and you can find me on Discord, Ao3, Pixiv and Twitter under the same ID (mostly viewing on the latter two). Come say hi if you like~
I love Naruto. I am forever going to ship KakaIru. I love the two on their own as well - and from time to time, I branch out into multi-shipping 👀
On this main, I reblog, interact, and play ask games (LOVE THEM!!) on different topics, but ofc Naruto, KKIR, fandom and fannish stuff take up the majority.
Asks are OPEN - nothing is too silly and here is some inspiration.
From 2023 you can find all my art and stories over at my side blog, oneinist's works (I just love that grid view...) where requests are open too. Please check out the pinned post first 😘. I love to collect resources, and I try to tag them so I can go back, why not look through them below? I also reblog any Naruto or multifandom event I come across, but I gotten to organizing tags for that (I probably should).
Art resources Writing resources
I'm a mod over at the Kakairu.Rocks forum where we run events throught the year and hang out. I'm also part of a collective of kkir mods who have run the Kakairu Reverse Bang 2022 and Kakairu Big Bagn 2024.
Come check us out and spread the KakaIru looove~~~

I am also chuckling like mad at the people who are still so down on Jade, like "she doesn't even have basic customer service skills" and babes I get where you're coming from but the UK is not a tip culture. Customer service is thus very very VERY different. I worked at a move theater (in the North, which is much friendlier than London!) while I was at uni, and regularly had coworkers ask me why I was being so fucking chipper and polite to people. I had CUSTOMERS look at me in befuddlement when I'd chirp "enjoy your movie!" Jade keeps a neutral/pleasant smile on her face, she doesn't actively say anything nasty to anyone, that's pretty fucking good. Also, I think she might be nicer to everyone else, and her busting Nate's balls is just gonna be their thing.

Y'know, I don't think it's accurate to say that you can do fandom "wrong", but I do definitely think that there are people out there doing fandom things that are totally cromulent, except they're based on a blatant misreading or at least directly contradict aspects of the texts, and unless they're explicitly labeling their doing of fandom as "adversarial" or otherwise, I would feel comfortable saying they're doing fandom "incorrectly".

Hi!
I´ve been planning on making a hard cover Reanimator fanfic book for a while and i would like to know if i could include Dreams in the Necromancer House after its finished! It would be just one book (not selling it) and i´ll give the proper credits both on the summary and the beggining of the story. Im also thinking about doing an illustration of each chapter and putting there, so there´s that too. If it ends up really happening i plan on posting the progress on my tumblr!
We can talk a bit more about it if you have any regards about the crediting stuff or anything like it, but its ok if you dont like the idea too!
Hope you have a good day!
Hi @camelosuspeito! I am going to reply to you in particular, but my opening is going to be generic in case anybody else has a similar question. You've kind of triggered an unskippable cutscene, so I'll let you know that the answer is yes ahead of time. I hope that's okay, and that you're having a good night/whatever your local time is!
Generally speaking, I can only support fan binding of my works if they are offered free of charge, or are personal copies not for sale.
My reasons for not supporting fan binding for pay for my works in particular are simple. I offer all of my fanfiction free of charge. That does not mean that they are free of labor. I've been writing fic since I was sixteen; I'm now in my forties. I've put roughly two decades of practice into creating fanworks. This doesn't touch upon the original works I've produced in that same timeframe, nor having to learn basic HTML to create websites back in the day to host fanworks at a time when they were regularly banned from mainstream platforms, etc.
Despite all that, I am giving my writing for free. To me, the point of transformative fanwork is creating, developing, and maintaining the fandom, in joy and in suffering. I could charge people a fee to access my Re-Animator essays on some other site. That would be the smart move and my bills would sure appreciate getting paid. I don't do that because I am also poor and I feel it would be unethical to put a paywall between impoverished fans and transformative works. I'll probably create a tip jar here one of these days, but that's all it would be--a tip jar for people who appreciate what I do.
Accordingly, I see people charging over a hundred euros for binding fanfic, and I get a bad taste in my mouth. As far as I can tell, nobody on Etsy is getting their own fanfic bound, nor are folks offering fan bindings of their own works. They are taking the labor of a third party and making money off it, and it's really not clear whether any of the fanwriters whose works are being sold even know whether or not it's happening or consented to it.
It reminds me of how in the mid-2010s, somebody went through my AO3 profile and uploaded a bunch of my Star Trek and Twin Peaks fics as ebooks for sale. That troubled me. If they sold one of my fics, that's only five dollars--but it's pretty much pure profit for them, and so very worthwhile. It sucks offering something for free and having people take advantage of that in the name of their own profit.
And again, this is all just about me and how I feel about my work. Other folks can and will feel differently and that's okay! I'm not passing judgement.
Soooooo, all of that being said, you're not doing that. You are asking to do a fan binding of "Dreams in the Necromancer House" for you, and as you've described it here, that's fine with me! If you still like it after it's finished and you want to have a personal copy of it, go nuts with that! I think crediting me as the author on the cover or author's page would be more than enough, given that it would just be yours.
I think seeing your process for producing it would be very interesting, and so would the illustrations! Feel free to tag me as much as you like when you're ready to get going.

Are there different terms for AUs that change canon vs ones that are set in whole new worlds? I'm wracking my brain and I can't seem to think of anything other than a "Fusion AU", but I know that's not it

Hey just for funsies, what's your most unhinged, never gonna happen, wouldn't want it to happen but it would be fucking hilarious if it did, way to wrap up Rebecca's psychic nonsense? I'll go first- Rebecca and Trent Crimm get together and she becomes mum to his daughter.
