I actually do think male characters can be female coded but it's generally in like hyper macho genres where women only exist as vaguely sexy fonts of approval in the distance and the main dynamics are fundamentally about the performance of masculinity and the intricacies of homosocial bonding and hierarchical jostling. female coding is male characters in army movies being stripped of their rights to their body their identity their innate capacity for emotion. it's men in mafia movies having their purpose their drive their optimism their freedom stripped away until nothing is left of them but a dull husk serving the abstract structure of a family now devoid of warmth and love. most importantly it's wolverine, wolverine is female coded

Amaran Review: Sai Pallavi Elevates Film's Emotional Core
Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan star in Amaran, a heartfelt tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan. This emotional biopic celebrates love, duty, and sacrifice.
Sneha Jaiswal (Twitter | Instagram) The 2024 action-drama biopic Amaran portrays the heroic life of Major Mukund Varadarajan (played by Sivakarthikeyan), who was martyred during a daring operation against terrorists in Kashmir. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the movie is based on a section featured in the book series “India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes” by…

“in the 1990s, horror movies shifted away from the grotesque masks, buckets of liquid latex, and half-naked co-eds that had defined the genre during the 1980s. due to the 1990s being a more accepting time, diversity in all aspects was included in horror films. all races and sexualities were being represented through movies. 1990s horror movies also reflected fears about the approaching end of the millennium. were ancient prophecies about to come true? would the year 2000 trigger the sequence of devastating global events known as the apocalypse?”

I love comparing book Thorin and to movie Thorin especially when they first meet Bilbo and book Thorin lands flat on his face being crushed by Bifur, Bofur and Bombur, pulls out a beautiful harp that he’s been carrying the whole time to the shire and even after they leave the shire, gives compliments to Bilbo about being a generous host and talks about the hair on his feet and movie Thorin just saunters in looking like a sexy mysterious man in the night ready to whisk away poor Bilbo but his brain wasn’t working quick enough to keep up with the charade and insults Bilbo instead.
And I love both of them and would love it if they both met and thought the other version was a complete moron.

Rewatching Captain America: The Winter Soldier just makes me think about how smart Steve is. I feel like he is often overshadowed by other Avengers, such as Bruce, Tony and Nat.
In WS, he has many moments that portray the way his brain thinks. My personal favorites are the elevator scene and when him and Nat arrive at the old army camp. He knows those agents are coming after him due to slight body language, such as a hand on a gun or a couple of beads of sweat while in the elevator. At the old army base, he is able to find the room with Zola with little information. He uses his knowledge on army regulations to find the old SHIELD office. From there, he is just able to notice little things that are off, such as the shelves that reveal the computer.
Sorry for the lil rant, but I just think Steve deserves more intellectual credit than the fandom gives him.

You know what I appreciate? In the scene where 2nd-dimension Doof forces Perry to reveal himself by attacking the boys, our Doof’s immediate reaction is anger. Perry being there or not, the idea of hurting children is a complete no. It’s such a subtle thing, but I think it really shows what makes the two Doofenshmirtzes different. It kind of sticks out to me both for later in the movie and even later in the show when Doof realizes he’s actually good—physically hurting children is a line he would never cross.
